You expected the holidays to feel lonely this yearâjust not in the way you imagined.
Instead of the dreaded reality of working through Christmas again, like you had the past couple of years since moving away from home, youâve found yourself right back where you started. Living with your parents, grappling with the weight of feeling like you failed at adulthood. Paying the bills had become a distant fantasy, leaving even your dreams to taunt you with the craving for a livable wage. It all became too muchâand yet somehow, not enough. Moving back home felt like the only option left.
Your parents were thrilled, to say the leastâecstatic, evenâto have their eldest back under their roof, having the whole family under one roof again. But for you, it wasnât the homecoming you had envisioned. You had hoped to return someday with something to show for your time away, some proof that youâd made it on your own.
To mark the occasion, they planned a family getaway, a trip to the mountains surrounded by endless snow. It had been years since the last time you did anything like this together, long before the separation. You had looked forward to itâbrieflyâuntil the melancholy of the weather seeped into your chest the moment you arrived. The âlots and lots of snowâ your parents had promised quickly turned into an unavoidable obstacle.
Not even a day after you settled in, the whole unit was told that the power had gone out in all the nearby cabins. A widespread blackout had left you stranded in the middle of nowhere, with snow flooding the roads to the nearest businesses. It would be a while before you could even dream of grabbing a snack or anything hot that wasnât water or those sickly sweet instant hot chocolates.
And now, you were starting to remember just how hard it could be to live with your family againâespecially under such trying circumstances. The constant back-and-forth over the tiniest matters, the unsolicited lectures about concepts that were commonsensical, and now the pitying glances. Worse yet were the relentless offers from your parents to set you up with jobs through their friends. If you had to hear about moms friend, Barbara, needing an office assistant at her day care center again, you feared youâd lose it.
The weight of it all was becoming harder to bear. Overwhelm was no longer a passing feeling but a constant companion. Your only reprieve was retreating to your bedroom, a cramped space with a single window that came off cozier than anticipated.
You were grateful to have a space of your own again after going without it for as long as you did. If there was one thing you had loved about living alone, it was the solitudeâeven in the brief moments when your roommate was out. At least then, you could find ways to entertain yourself. Sadly, one of those distractions, your sketchbook, was left behind in the city, abandoned alongside your ambition, your will.
You resorted to tracing shapes in the frost on your windows, the delicate squeak of condensation yielding beneath the pad of your finger the only sound breaking the serene stillness around you. Through the fleeting transparency of your doodles, once tracing the outlines of distant mountains, you spotted another cabin buried under just as much snow as yours.
Curiosity piqued, you press your hands against the cold glass, wiping away the condensation for a clearer view. A window in the other cabin stood nearly parallel to yours, like a portal into another world just out of reach. Before you could even imagine what might lie beyond, a hand suddenly slammed flat against their glass, startling youâa moment straight out of a horror movie.
You nearly yelp but quickly clasped your hand over your mouth to stifle the sound, regaining confidence to look back at the window. Through the neighboring window, the figure with a blurry mop of dark hair began tracing something in the rapidly forming frost. A sloppy âhelloâ took shape on their side of the glassâbackward, but unmistakable.
You chuckled at the sight, assuming the person on the other end was some bored kid, just as restless and bored as you were. Deciding to play along, you traced a replyâa proper, right-sided âhelloââbefore adding a smiley face for good measure. It was a lighthearted exchange, the wholesome moment making you genuinely grin for the first on this trip.
âName?â you drew on the glass, the letters quickly fading as the frost crept back.
âWonwoo,â appeared in shaky but right-side-up letters this time. You couldnât help but smile at the effort. âYou?â they added beneath it, their hand pausing as though waiting with bated breath.
Your finger hovered hesitantly over the fogged-up window as you traced your name, watching the letters slowly take shape. There wasnât much time to second-guess your decision before they replied with a simple, âNice,â making it harder to regret it.
Though it was hard to decipher much of what they were trying to communicate, one thing was clear: they loved to talk. And talk they did through endless doodles and barely decipherable scribbles against the glass, turning this serendipitous encounter into a game of charades. From your side, though, most of it looked like nonsense.
Still, it didnât matter. You were having funâexchanging prolonged moments with an unseen stranger on the other side of a different window.
A moment stretched into minutes, hours, even days. Long enough that it no longer mattered who was on the other sideâthough, judging by the look of their hands, it was definitely no kid. Slowly but surely, you found yourself starting to see them as a friend, a routine while you were stuck in the depths of snow.
âDinner?â Youâd ask one night, depending on the dim lighting powered by solar energy, listing up the shadows that would lift the surface of Wonwooâs window.
âSpaghetti,â he replied, adding a clumsy doodle of noodles on a plate. âYou?â Â
âBeef stew,â you answered, following it up with your abstract attempt at drawing a cow. Â
âLOL, COW?â Â
âYeah, why?â Â
âKinda sucks.â Â
You scoffed, a grin spreading across your face at the unexpected insult. âRude.â Â
âHonest...pretty bad.â Â
You couldnât help but laugh, enjoying these exchanges far more than you expected. The two of you had learned to condense your conversations into quick, simple words, racing against the frost that always made its speedy return. But that made your efforts more of a game, adding a bit of challenge to an otherwise simple conversation.
Your parents were starting to notice how much time you spent cooped up in your room, often calling you out for quality family timeâwhich, in your opinion, you were already doing enough of stuck inside. They seemed to see your alone timeâif you could call it thatâeating time away at their opportunity to bond. Even your sister, normally so self-involved, had begun making remarks, wondering if the downfall of your life in the city affected you now to have you become such a recluse.
Still, a small part of you wondered if they had a point. Maybe you were spending a bit too much time at the window. But if you were being honest, talking to Wonwoo had become addictive. It was turning into a deliberate decisionâto spend every available morning, afternoon, and night tracing words and shapes on the frost, granted the time allowed it.
What began as a way to cope with the isolation, a means to burn through the endless hours, had become a light in the pit of your self-loathing and your emotional turmoil. The more you learned about your mysterious pen pal, the more you found yourself wanting to meet him, eager to put a face to the distraction that took your mind off the snow and things beyond.
âThe snowâs finally letting up, sweetie. Why donât we take a trip to the grocery store, hmm?â Your momâs hand rested gently on your back, her warm, soothing tone wrapping around you like a blanket.
You glanced at her, your features softening at the tender smile she offered. âWhy about Jan?â you suggested, nodding toward her bedroom door, knowing it awaited your sister past it. âShe might want to go.â
âBut I want you to go.â Her voice had that unmistakable motherly insistence. âI think itâll do my baby some good to get some fresh air. You can take Dadâs car.â
You hesitated, your gaze drifting toward the window as curiosity tugged at your thoughts. What might he be doing now that the weather was finally clearing? Youâd waited for a response, wondering if his family had roped him into another board game or if he was outside, just as your mom was trying to get you to be. Either way, you missed himâbut perhaps not enough to keep waiting around. Â
âSure,â you said with a small sigh. âWhy not.â
The roads were still rough but manageable, and it was admittedly refreshing to see more than just the endless expanse of white that had dominated the past few days. The sun beamed down, its warmth seeping into the interior of the unheated car, a welcome change from the cold.
The grocery store sign loomed ahead, bright and almost obnoxiously loud against the snow-covered landscape as you eased into the parking lot. As expected, the place was bustling with an influx of customers eager to take advantage of the forgiving weather. Every aisle seemed occupiedâparents with children, couples, or solo shoppersâshuffling between essentials and indulgences to make the most of their outing. Â
You clutched the list your mom had handed you, systematically rummaging through shelves and coolers, tossing the requested items into your cart aisle by aisle. You were almost finished, having gathered just about everything your family needed, when something unexpected caught your eye. Â
In the kidâs toys section, tucked between vibrant miniature trucks and rows of Barbie dolls, a single sketch pad stood out. It was plain but familiar, similar to the one you had lost so long ago. It would be useful in your attempts to communicate with the neighboring cabinet and perhaps revive a passion that you were quick to give up then.
You decided to inconspicuously maneuver your cart closer, as subtle as one could with its squeaky wheels, and reached for the pad as you moved away from the cart. At that same moment, another hand landed on it, fingers brushing the cover in perfect synchronicity with yours.
You met his eyes, shielded by a single pair of eye frames, but nonetheless deep and warm. His hair, a dark and familiar but common shade of black, fell slightly over his forehead as the two of you crouched face-to-face. Rising in unison, the sketchpad still clutched between you, you offered a polite smile. Â
âSorry, but do you mind letting go? I found it first,â you said with as much civility as you could muster. Â
âNot to be rude,â he replied, his voice low and mellow, âbut Iâm pretty sure I saw it first. We just happened to grab it at the same time.â Â
âHa. Well, I wouldnât know that, seeing as all I saw was my hand reaching for it.â Â
âAnd thatâs why spatial awareness is so important,â he pointed out casually.Â
You sighed, feeling an almost tangible heat simmer behind your temples. âLook, I think itâd be really kind of you to just let me have thisââ Â
âAnd what if I donât?â Â
âItâs a sketchpad, not water, not batteries, not a ham radio. A sketchpad. Theyâre a dime a dozen.â Â
He raised an eyebrow, a playful challenge glinting in his eyes. âThen why donât you go find another one?â Â
âBecause itâs here, and I happen to need one.â Â
âAs do I.â Â
âWell,â you huffed, âIâm an artist.â Â
âAs am I.â Â
You groaned in exasperation, tightening your grip on the pad. âThis isnât going anywhere.â Â
âAgreed.â His expression shifted, resolute yet calm, his features almost annoyingly defined and symmetrical. âI take the sketchpad, and you find something else.â Â
âYouââ You stopped yourself, drawing a deep breath, trying to suppress the steam threatening to escape your ears. Â
He chuckled softly, the sound light but deliberate, as if enjoying the minor conflict heâd stirred. When you opened your eyes, his slight smile met youâsubtle but undeniably captivating, his amusement as clear as the sky was blue, free of storm clouds.
âThere has to be a way for you to give this up,â you said, attempting to negotiate. âWhat do you want?â Â
âFor starters,â he said, nudging the sketchpad in your hands with insistence, âthis.â Â
âWhat else?â you pressed, rolling your eyes. âSomething youâd want in exchange.â Â
He paused, considering, his large hand still gripping the sketchpad like it was a lifeline. âHow desperate are you for this notebook?â Â
The hairs on the back of your neck stood as you instinctively took a step back. âIâd like it very muchâŚâ Â
âWhy do you look scared?â Â
âWhy are you behaving creepy?â Â
âCreepy?â he echoed, sounding almost offended. Â
âWell, what else am I supposed to think when you ask questions like âhow desperate are youâ over something as mundane as a sketchpad? I should be running away screaming right now.â Â
âBut youâre not,â he pointed out smugly. âBecause of this so-called mundane thing.â Â
âWell, itâs all I want,â you said firmly. âSo.â
âFine,â he said, his tone shifting. âIâll tell you what. Iâll let you have itââ Â
âReally?â You perked up in excitement.
ââifâŚâ Â
ââŚIf?â Â
âIf you draw me.â Â
You blinked at him, utterly baffled as you repeated after him. âDraw you?â Â
âYeah,â he confirmed, shrugging as if it was an easy task. âDraw a picture of me, and itâs yours.â Â
You stared at him, skeptical. âAre you some kind of egotistical maniac who makes people sketch his portrait before killing them?â Â
He scoffed. âNo. Iâm just bored. You said you were an artist, didnât you? Seems fair. Besides, weâve got time to kill. Draw me.â Â
You eyed him cautiously, weighing whether this sketchpad was truly worth lingering in the presence of this weirdoâan undeniably good-looking weirdo, but a weirdo all the same. Â
âWhat? Worried about the ice cream melting?â he teased.
You shot him a glare before snatching the sketchpad from his grip as he finally relented. âYou want a profile or full body?â Â
âFull body, of course.â Â
âOf course, you do,â you muttered, rolling your eyes. Â
After finishing your purchases and loading up your cars, the two of you set off in search of a private, scenic spot. The cold bit the sliver of skin that was exposed, and the snow crunched beneath your feet as you trudged through the frosted terrain. Fortunately, you stumbled upon a small clearing, tucked away and shielded from the relentless winds. The landscape, blanketed in untouched snow and dappled with soft sunlight, offered a rare moment of peace, tranquilityâperfect for capturing the stranger in his essence.
"Wow," you murmured, stepping out of your car and taking in the breathtaking scene before you. Â
"Wow is right," the stranger echoed, towering over you in his thick winter coat, a snug layer of wool wrapped around his neck and top of his head. His presence felt larger than life against the serene backdrop, a picture-esque image. A perfect muse. "Almost feels like a waste, setting all this up for little olâ me. But hey, not my problem."Â Â
He unraveled his scarf slightly, the crisp air brushing against his now-exposed features, sharp and striking in the natural light of the beaming sun. Casually, he settled onto a rock perfectly positioned in the clearing, leaning back as if it were a throne made just for him. Â
âYour call,â he urged, flashing a playful grin. âDraw me like one of your French girls, Jack.âÂ
You let out a soft chuckle, taking a few steps back to put some distance between you and your subject. With the pencil youâd serendipitously scavenged from your car, you raised it to eye level as if you were a seasoned artist with half an idea of what theyâre doing, squinting slightly as you angled it toward him, pretending to search for the best perspective to capture his features. âI have a feeling youâre gonna be hard to work with.â
âOnly if you're doing it wrong.â
Finding your stance, you began visualizing his figure on the first page of your newly acquired sketchpad. You focused on the broadness of his shoulders beneath the thick fabric of his coat and the subtle shift of his boots scuffing the snow. He remained still with little effort, making him all the easier to sketch.
âYouâre getting my good side, arenât you?â he asked, his grin nonchalant, but clearly amused as he adjusted his scarf towards the direction of the wind.
âI met you today. How am I supposed to know which side is your good side?â Â
âWell, I figured youâve been looking at me long enough to figure it out.â He leaned back slightly. âBut thatâs a trick questionâall my sides are good sides.â Â
You shook your head, shading in a bit of shadow on the outline of your sketch. âYouâre insufferable,â you commented, not looking up.
âWell, God is fair.â He sighed exaggeratedly, his breath visible in the crisp air. âIf I were humble too, Iâd be too perfect, donât you think?â Â
âI think youâd make a better model with your mouth shut,â you replied, glancing up briefly as his grin widened.
The flow of the conversation felt familiar, invitingâweirdly amusing unmatched most conversations youâve had the past couple years, except perhaps your exchanges with Wonwoo. That is, if you could ever manage to say more than three words at a time to him through the frosted traces on the window. Perhaps your gravitation for either of these men stemmed from the absence of a partner in your life all these years, a quiet longing projected onto them. Either way, there seemed to be no harm in indulging in the attention. Â
This stranger exuded a certain kindnessâan audacious, unconventional amicability that defied explanation but felt undeniably real. It radiated through the harsh winter winds and the ever-deepening snow, a humanity that seemed to drip effortlessly onto your sketchpad. As you captured his form in the way your hands could manage in this damning weather, you found yourself rediscovering your passion thanks to an entitled no-name.
"How's it going?" he asked, curiosity coloring his tone. Â
"Almost done," you replied, focusing on penciling in a few final details. Â
"Let me see."Â Â
Before you could respond, he hopped off the rock and stepped closer, leaning over your shoulderâhis presence towering over you. "Huh. Not bad. But you're missing the defining features on my face,â his hand swept over his face, âyou knowâthe eyes, my cheekbones. My distinct features."Â Â
You tilted your head, fixing him with a deadpan stare. "Okay, well, your glasses are in the way, so I can only do so much."Â Â
"Fine," he said with exaggerated resignation. Without warning, he took your wrist, his fingers brushing over your surging pulse, and gently guided you to sit against the cold, weathered rock behind him. He crouched in front of you, his face now level with yours, the sharp angles of his features highlighted by the pale, wintry light. The mischievous glint in his eyes was undeniably captivating, the blood pumping through your veins in a way the cold never could. "Here. A closer lookâfor accuracy."Â Â
"For accuracy?" you echoed, raising an eyebrow. Â
"Just donât get any funny ideas," he added, his frost-touched breath, lingering the remnant of hot chocolate, making that smile on his face sweeter than youâd like it to be.
"Wouldnât dream of it," you retorted, shifting your grip on the pencil on the sketchpad as you tried to ignore the way his proximity set your nerves buzzing.
As your eyes moved from the stranger to the sketch, you could notice as he stared back at you just as intently, as if looking directly into your soul, taking note of you and tracing you from memory. Perhaps that was his task as a self-assigned model, to familiarize themselves with their creatorâor in his case hostage.Â
His Adamâs apple bobbed as he swallowed, drawing attention to the slender curve of his neck, bare and delicate. The smooth skin there traced a path upward, leading to the sharp features of his faceâhis soft lips, the high bridge of his nose, and his keen, fox-like eyes. Your breath was caught, unbidden, as you took a moment to take him in. Your eyes locked with hisâjust for a fleeting secondâbefore you quickly returned to your sketch, pretending as if you werenât for a moment thinking more than an artist should.
âOkay. Done,â you concluded with the tap on the page.
The stranger looked it over, holding the sketch pad towards him, smiling. âDonât forget to sign it.â
âOh, yeah thatâs right,â you said, adding your initials in a prominent spot. âBeen so long since Iâve had to do that.â
âHavenât drawn in a while?â
You shook your head. âNot of people no, not as seriously either.â
âWell, itâs good. Keep it up.â
As you started to tear off the sheet with the sketchâholding the first page reluctantly between your fingersâyou hesitated for a moment, then decided to gather the first half of the pages from the sketchbook. You tore them off in one satisfying swift motion and handed the stack to him. âHere.â
His eyes slightly widened in surprise, and he took the papers from you cautiously. âAre you sure?â
âThereâs hundreds of pages.â You shrugged, âWhat do I need the whole stack for?â
He snickered, dusting off the eraser shavings as he admired the sketch again, he grinned happily with his exchange, making him a satisfied customer. âI wonder how much I can sell this for.â
âMaybe your mom will buy it off you,â you playfully retorted.
He, still unnamed, tucked his drawing in his bag, closing the passer door to his car, he walked back toward you, a lingering wistful smile on his face.Â
âI guess this is where I leave,â he said, a raise and fall to his voice, something dramatic in his tone. âNever to be seen again.â
You raised an eyebrow. âYep. All's well that ends well, I guess.â
Before you could retreat to your car, his voice stopped you. âThatâs it?â
You turned back, meeting his expectant gaze. âWhat?â
âI thought we had a moment here. Shared something special.â
You tilted your head, feigning confusion. âWhat? You want a scout badge for it?â
âNoâŚâ
âThen say what you mean.â
He scoffed, loosening the scarf around his neck to reveal the faint pink flush coloring his skin. âYouâre really just gonna leave without saying goodbye?â Â
You grinned, tilting your head. âWeâve known each other long enough for goodbyes?â Â
âWhy not?â he replied with a shrug that was meant to seem casual but instead came off surprisingly endearing. Â
You mirrored his shrug, the flutter in your chest quickening as you met his gaze. âThenâŚbye, I guess,â you said softly, the words carrying a weight only got heavier.
âBye,â he murmured, his voice barely audible, the word almost lost in the cold air between you. His smile lingered, faint but visible.
As you climbed into your car, you glanced back to find his silhouette watching, hands stuffed in his pockets. His expression was unreadable but unmistakably drawn to you, even as you moved out of view. Driving away, the sight of him standing there etched in your mind, like a ghost of regret, leaving you wishing there was more you couldâve done. You tapped against the wheel, shaking your head side to side, trying to decipher the significance of the encounterâwhat it meant and what it meant to you.
By the time you got home, the sun was already dipping below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of gold and pink. The day had slipped away before you even realized it, leaving you drained as you ushered your family to help with the groceries. Your sister, begrudgingly helpful, carried a single bag into the kitchen, while your parents, far more efficient, managed the rest with ease. They smiled at you as they asked about the store run. Â
âIt was fine,â you answered casually, omitting any mention of the fleeting encounter with a strange man and his self-absorbed request. Instead, you clutched the sketchpad tucked inside your puffer jacket, its presence comforting as you moved quickly to avoid further questions. Â
After thanking everyone for stocking the groceries, you huddled inside, wasting no time darting to your room. Solitude awaited, and with it, the opportunity to test out your new sketchpad. And there was no better subject than Wonwoo.Â
You wrote something in bold block letters, loud enough to catch his attention and you pressed the pad against the window.
âLook who found something to write on!â
You held onto the sketchpad for a few minutes, waiting for a response that never came, wondering if Wonwoo was still out for the dayâor maybe even the evening. Shrugging off the silence, you decided to put it to other uses, taking it to the living room as the familiar dynamics of your family unfolded before your eyes. Â
By the time you got home, the power had returned. Jan had powered her phone, attached to the charging cable on the couch. The fridge, no longer relying on the backup generator, hummed with life as Mom filled it with everything cold. Meanwhile, Dad, his hankering for a beer quenched as he finally cracked one open, releasing a sigh of satisfaction. Â
You settled on the stairs, sketchpad in hand, and began to recreate the scene before you. Each line brought their motions to lifeâthe way Mom gestured animatedly, how your sister rolled her eyes with a whine, and Dad chimed in with his usual lecture in support of Mom. Their interactions flowed like a motion picture, filling your pages effortlessly.
A smile crept across your face as your pencil scratched vastly against the surface, then rapidly. You envisioned the warmth of their voices, how it would play with the lines of their shapes, drawing them how your eyes saw them. The small but welcoming chaos that was your family began to feel less like an obligation and more like something precious. What you had once dreaded, you now basked in, appreciating it for what it was. And on your sketchpad, it thrived, living through your fingertips and onto the paper.Â
It was a fun little show and tell to share at dinner that night, bringing smiles to your family as you broke bread together. Even Jan, usually hard to impress, couldnât help but seem genuinely happy for you. Â
After the meal, with the house settling into its usual rhythm, you decided to try reaching out to Wonwoo again. You used the sign you had first had to catch his attention, holding it up against the glass, grasping at straws. This time, you waited longer, your breath fogging up the window as the evening chill seeped in. When nothing happened, you knocked lightly, the sound dull against the barrier between your world and his.
Just as you were about to give up again, something caught your eyeâshadows of a moving figure, then a scrawl appearing faintly on what looked like a blank surface. It wasnât elegantâmessy even, like chicken scratch, but the message was somehow comprehensible:Â Â
âI found some paper too!â
It was hurried, uneven, written in an excited rush, and it made you break out in the biggest of smiles.
Despite the electricity restored and the household bustling again, your amusement in the simplest forms of communication never ceased to amaze you. There was a charm in it, something oddly intimate and endearing about written notesâjust like Wonwoo.Â
âWhere have you been all day? You werenât here this morning,â you interrogated. Â
âErrands. The power came on, and my parents kinda pushed us all out of the house,â he replied. Â
That answered your question well enough, not giving you much reason to doubt itâuntil Wonwoo threw a question of his own your way. Â
âWhat did you do to entertain yourself without me? Bet it was boring,â he wrote. Â
You rolled your eyes, a small grin tugging at your lips, before scribbling a reply. The more lengthy phrasing really let his personality shine. Although it didn't even take half a mind to know a mind to know Wonwoo was both silly and amicable, seeing the development was something you didnât realize you longed to see âMine kinda did the same thing. Was out grocery shopping for most of the afternoon.â Â
âShopping took up the whole afternoon? The marketâs only 30 minutes away. Something happen?â Â
You hesitated, chewing on the end of your pen. Was there any point in telling Wonwoo about your encounter? Did it even matter? After a moment of thought, you decided there was no harm in sharing. Â
âMet some weirdo. An okay guy, I guess.â Â
âInteresting. Weirder than me?â
âUp for consideration.â
âFunny we were out at the same time. Maybe we passed by each other without knowing,â he responded. Â
âMaybe,â you agreed, looking back at all the people that have passed that couldâve possibly been him.Â
Your exchanges had come a long way from simple signs and one-word notes, now flowing effortlessly into full sentences. There was an ease in your back-and-forth, a connection that felt as natural as breathing. You would miss this interaction when itâs time to go. And admittedly, youâd miss Wonwoo.
After playing catch up with him until the late hours of the night, scribbling your heartâs content on paper until every inch of a page was filled, you eventually grew tired, falling asleep and waking up again unsure of the time of day. You rubbed your eyes of sleep, attempting to perk yourself up, before looking at your phone for the time, the only reason you look at your phone as of late.
5:45pm. Just about plenty of time before dinner.Â
When you came out of your room, it was vacant, almost eerily quiet how the living area was. âHello,â you resonated out in the open space, legs trodding over to the kitchen.
Your gaze flickered over to a note, plucking it off the stainless steel. âLetting you sleep, some lunch in the fridge, and coming back with dinner. Love, Mom,â you recited, smiling.
It seemed your family had granted you some alone time, which you were more than happy to take advantage of. Grabbing your sketchbook from your room, you flipped through the filled pages, relieved to find a couple still untouched. The beauty of the day caught your eye, and you decided to capture itâparticularly the landscape of the mountains, now finally visible beneath the layers of snow.
You flipped to any empty page, twirling a pencil between your fingers before starting out with an outline, tracing over the peak of the mountains and down its slope. You could get used to this feeling, this inspiration. Your smile widened when the picture was coming together: the shading, the rocks, the snow, even the birds that would sometimes linger on nearby trees. Your heart swelled in bliss like nothing else, any other sensation unmatched.
As you let out a frost bitten breath, presenting your picture to view as the sun was beginning to set in front of you.Â
âWow,â a deep voice called out from the darkness, startling you so badly that you dropped your book and pen.
A figure stood under the overhang of the neighboring cabin, tall but obscured by a blanket of shadows. âWho goes there?â you called out, your voice firm despite your unease.
âWho goes there? Are you a troll under a bridge?â he teased, clearly not taking your alarm seriously.
âIâm being serious. Who are you?â you demanded, stepping back cautiously.
âYou canât see me?â he asked, his voice tinged with genuine confusion.
âYouâre standing in the dark like Slenderman. Of course, I canât see you!â
âOh. My bad.â
âOh?! Why are you just standing there in the dark like a weirdo?â
âHow am I being weird? Iâm not being weird!â he protested, his voice rising slightly.
âStop with this creepypasta crapâyou scared the hell out of me! Are you a pervert or something?â
âPervert?â he repeated, sounding offended. âAre you saying that just because Iâm a man?â
âIâm saying that because youâre standing in the fucking shadows you have a knife behind your back!â
The shadowy figure finally started to get to the point and stepped out of the darkness, revealing himself to be more than a mere stranger. You blinked in surprise, recognizing him right away.
âYouâre the guy from the grocery store.â You pointed out, your tone flat. âYou stalking me or something?â
He narrowed his eyes, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. âHow do I know youâre not stalking me?â
âSo, youâre saying I found you so alarmingly attractive that after drawing your picture that you requested I do, that left first to follow you all the way to your cabin, and then decided to draw mountains for fun in the middle of my stalking. Sure.â
ââŚCan I see them?â
You held out a cautionary hand. âStay where you are, I have an orange belt.â
The man let out a long sigh, and your name rolled off his tongue so naturally it stopped you in your tracks. âSeriously, how do you not get it yet?â
Your eyes widened. âHow do you know my name? Oh my god. You are a stalker.â
He slapped a hand against his chest in mock offense. âIâm Wonwoo, you clueless loser. The person youâve been talking to for the pastâwhat, week and a half?â
ââŚHuh.â You blinked, the pieces starting to fall into place. âThat would make a lot of sense.â Still, a flicker of doubt lingered. âProve it.â
He rolled his eyes. âYou may be a good artist, but you canât draw cows.â
You bristled. âI tried my best.â
âYour best sucked,â he quipped without hesitation.
You crossed your arms, narrowing your eyes at him but feeling the corners of your mouth tug upward despite yourself. âHmm. Maybe you are Wonwoo.â
He crossed his arms to match yours, a grin spreading across his face at your acceptance. âI kinda had a feeling it would be you.â
You stepped closer, tilting your head. âOh yeah? How?â
âWellâŚâ His grin grew wider. âI was more so hoping itâd be you. Youâre just as interesting in person as you are throughâŚmessages? Notes? Can we even call them that?â
You laughed, his words bringing back every ridiculous attempt youâd made to communicateâdoodling, caveman vocabulary, the chicken scratch that was already hard enough to read with the condensation on the window.
âWell, itâs good to finally meet you,â you said, extending a hand. âWonwoo.â
He glanced at your hand, amused. âA handshake?â
You shrugged, smiling. âWhatâs a better way to officially say hello?â
He shook his head, chuckling, and clasped your hand. The handshake started innocently enough, but then he tugged you forward, pulling you against him. Your breath caught as your bodies pressed together, the warmth between you defying the winter chill. His gaze locked onto yours, holding on to like and suddenly, the world around you seemed to fade.
You werenât sure how to react, your heart pounding like it was trying to break free, leaving you standing there, suspended in what felt like a hallmark film annoyingly enough. And with that thought, you broke from the spell, finding the courage to speak. âWhat was that for?â you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
âCouldnât help myself,â he replied, his gaze fixed on you as if time had frozen, a lingering smile playing on his lips.
The corners of your mouth twitched upward despite yourself, almost melting under his playful watch. âFunny.â
âWhat?â
âWe just met, and youâre already hitting on me?â
He scoffed, practically beaming at you falling seamlessly into his rhythm. Thought that was a given, considering the time youâve known each other. âActually, weâve met a total of three times. And, as they say, the third timeâs the charm.â
You mused up at him, for a moment entertaining the idea, seeing the picture he was trying to paint. âFor what exactly?â
He nonchalantly shrugged, gaze softening as they fell over your features lower, arms sliding up your sides, âWell, ever since you drew me on that rock, Iâve wanted to hug you because I didnât know if I would ever get the chance to.â
âAnd now?â
His hand reached up to brush the top of your head, and fingers delicately found themselves through your hair, weaving through with a slow reverent touch. âI hadnât gotten that far yet,â he softly admitted, âbut if youâll let me, maybe I can make you a part of my art one day.â
âYou knowâŚthat doesn't make you sound any less like a serial killer.â
âYou canât let me have one serious moment, can you?â
âI think youâve known me long enough to answer that question yourself,â You grinned.

how they would celebrate christmas with you (plus a suprise they have trouble keeping secret)
hyung line

author's note: I picture this as slightly aged up members and their significant others, still famous and working in the industry but with solo careers (hence the ability to take actual time off for themselves). But I did try to keep that part vague. I'm not religious but I grew up with Christmas, but feel free to sub in whatever winter holiday tickles your fancy. Maknae line coming soon!
likes, comments, and reblogs always welcome as long as you're not a minor!
Park Seonghwa: Park Seonghwa loves Christmas and even moreso, winter. He has gifts and activities planned every day of December leading up to Christmas Day. He takes you ice skating, sledding, to have your picture made with Santa - even though you're both definitely too old, and yes, some of the gifts are small, like your favorite candy, some are tokens to use for quality time with him, heâs a big fan of an advent calendar. But some of the gifts, the ones closer and on Christmas proper, are very nice. Matching bracelets with both of your birthstones, a purse you had your eye on that you mentioned in passing earlier that year.
The gifts are wonderful but your favorite part is the quality time you get to spend with him. Christmas Eve is spent in the matching pajamas he gifted you, White Christmas playing in the background while the two of you assemble the Lego set you gifted him a day early, sipping on spiked apple cider and taking breaks for long, tender make out sessions and short bursts of aggressive kisses and cuddle attacks.
You take a break from building the set to read your book, curled up behind him on the couch, and when you inevitably nod off, he only pouts for a minute when you don't reply to his excitement about finishing an elaborate section of the Lego set, turning to see you with your chin to your chest, book slipping out of your hand.
You stir only when he's kissing your forehead and urging you to go brush your teeth because, âYou always regret it when you don't, my little rein-dearâ. He looks at you expectantly when he makes the pun and you try not to laugh at his stupid joke but you can't help it when he's cheesing in anticipation. He stares at you for a while as you fall asleep next to him in bed, watching your eyelashes flutter, resisting the urge to keep kissing your cheeks, lest he disturb you. He's too excited for the morning to fall asleep fast, but watching you is a treat.
He's up at the crack of dawn with anticipation and resists waking you up for as long as he can until eventually, he caves, situating himself between your legs, pulling down your underwear and taking his sweet time as he eats you out, his mouth gentle and languid as he eases you into consciousness. It's one of your favorite ways to wake up and he saves it for special occasions. By the time you're fully awake, you're a whiny mess, begging for him until he gives in, too excited to start the day to make this one of his longer sessions.Â
âMerry Christmas to me.â You joke sleepily as he pushes inside of you slowly.Â
âMmh your pussy is the best gift I could have asked for.â He replies as he bottoms out.Â
It doesn't take long for either of you to finish, and it takes every fiber in his being to not dash out of the room immediately to go get coffee started and watch you open your final gift, but he exercises some self control, cuddling you and helping you back into your pants. You giggle at his urgency.Â
His last present is an envelope containing a hand-written love letter and two plane tickets for a weekend together over New Years on Jeju Island. He's just glad youâve yet to find the ring he's had hidden in his closet for three months now. He plans to propose as the clock strikes twelve into the new year.Â
Kim Hongjoong: Hongjoong is oddly withholding, nervous, and antsy around two weeks before Christmas when you assume your gift got delivered. He's bad about spending way too much on you, despite swearing up and down that it's, âJust something small!â Fortunately for you, you can tell when he's lying because his eyes go shifty and he gets cagey and jumpy. He feels bad he can't spend as much time with you as he'd like around the holidays but when you bring him coffee to his studio on Christmas Eve, he surprises you with a song he's working on about how he'd like to spend the holidays with you.Â
âMy mind kept drifting to you while I was trying to work on something else so I had to get this out of my system before I could keep working on something else. It's kinda cheesy but-â
âJoongie, no.â You pull him in for a kiss, laughing at his dumbfounded face, âIt's perfect, baby. You know, I would be perfectly happy if this was the only thing you got me for Christmas.âÂ
âBaby! No way.â He pulls you into his lap on the couch in his studio, âYou're far too special to me for that. Plus, I really think you're going to love what I got you.â
âWhat did you get me!?â You try to catch him off guard.Â
âI-â He almost fell for it, âHey! I'm not telling.â He starts to tickle you as punishment, ending with the two of you nose to nose, limbs tangled, horizontal on the couch.Â
âCan you give me one gift early then?â You let your hands wander between his thighs, sticking your bottom lip out and widening your eyes, knowing he has a hard time saying no when you pout and plead.Â
âYouâre going to end up keeping me here all night.â He pretends to resist, but he was already kissing down the column of your neck and reaching for the hem of your shirt.Â
âPlease, Joong.â You didn't know which thing you were pleading for at that point as he derobed you and worked you open with his fingers before taking you right there in his studio, both of you glad for the sound proof room.Â
You convince him later to give his work a rest for the night and come home to sleep in a real bed. The next morning, you wake to him sitting by you on the bed, meticulously wrapped gift in his hands, nearly bouncing with anticipation.Â
âBaby-â You blink your eyes open, knowing you look a hot mess from your slumber.Â
âMerry Christmas!â He shoves the gift in your hands.Â
You unwrap it painstakingly slowly just to watch him vibrate on the spot in his excitement.Â
It's a beautiful custom winter coat from Balmain, lined with silk that has Hongjoongâs âNo1LikeMeâ printed on it, exactly in your style and you can tell even before trying it on that it will fit perfectly.
âSo this is why you needed my measurements in March. Not because you would lose a bet with Wooyoung.â You laughed at his silly excuse.Â
âYeah, yeah, you caught me but DOYOULIKEIT?!â His words rushed out as you tackled him to the bed.Â
âKim Hongjoong. I love it.â You pepper his face with kisses, âPlease never tell me how much you spent on this.âÂ
He knew this commentary was coming because he gave you a smarmy grin, âActually! This was a personal favor. It's one of a kind. Olivier refused to let me pay a dime because, âYour girl keeps you fed and for that I owe her.â His words.âÂ
âAsk me from my childhood if I ever thought I'd have personal favor with a designer from a high end brand and I'd laugh in your face.â You shook your head as you checked yourself out in the mirror.Â
âThank you so much, baby.â You cage him in on the bed.Â
âWait, wait. Check the breast pocket before you seduce me again.â He says this a bit breathless and you think you might kill him if he proposes to you while you wear one of his old t-shirts, your Christmas underwear, and the coat he just gifted you. Not to mention you still had bed hair and morning breath.Â
Kill or kiss, they were only two letters different, and you ended up choosing the second as you stared at the ring of your dreams in your hand.Â
âHongjoong-â You were at a loss for words.Â
âPlease marry me, my love. My life won't be complete until you agree to be bound to me spoiling you and surprising you by the law.âÂ
âYes!â You kiss him, still in disbelief, âYes, Hongjoong. Of course I'll marry you.â
You shimmy his pants down enough to free him and move your underwear to the side, too excited to do more, and take him in one go, making love to him wearing both of his gifts.Â
âThis is embarrassing but I got you the exact same things.â You joke as the two of you cuddle.
âOh, how embarrassing!â Hongjoong jokes back. He's impossible to buy for, always getting himself what he needs as he discovers a need for it.Â
He doesn't expect you to have put together a binder full of photocards for your final gift to him. You put together a collection of photos of the two of you and some of just yourself. Some naughty ones of just yourself. âI was tired of being the only one with the collection.âÂ
âItâs perfect,â He nuzzles his nose to yours, âMy fiancĂŠ is a genius gift giver.âÂ
Jeong Yunho: The man loves the holidays and this year is certainly no exception. He's so excited because he's convinced your families to celebrate together on Christmas Eve. You're more than a little suspicious with his hushed phone calls and the guilty puppy face he makes when you ask who called and he has to make up a lie. Twelve days before Christmas he surprises you with your first gift, a pre-paid facial appointment. The other days follow suit with a massage, hair appointment, nail appointment, things of that nature, culminating with shoes, a dress, jewelry, and a very nice set of lingerie that he wants you to wear on Christmas. It's beyond obvious at that point, but you suspend your disbelief for his sake, knowing how excited he is for this moment.Â
Christmas Eve with your combined families goes better than you imagined it would. The food was good, the wine and conversation flowed, and mass hadn't even lasted that long. He waits until everyone is playing charades in the living room, and he brings you up with him after pretending to read his word on the slip of paper, holding up 4 fingers to indicate it was a four-word answer. He scans the room with his eyes before taking your left hand in his own and getting down on one knee.
âWill you marry me?â You ask as if you're still playing the game.Â
âYou're too good at this game.â He kisses your hand and pulls the ring box out of his pocket, âSweetheart, I'm convinced you were created just for me. Falling in love with you over these years has been the greatest joy of my life and I never want to stop. Will you please do me the honor of marrying me?âÂ
âYunhoâŚâ Tears escape your eyes at his words, âI would love nothing more. Yes, baby.âÂ
He drops the ring box after removing the ring and slides it onto your finger before standing, picking you up, and twirling you around to the tune of the applause of both of your families.Â
Later that night, he unwraps you like the gift he considers you to be, taking off the clothes he bought for you piece by piece before turning you into a panting mess on his mattress as he insists on getting you off with his hands and mouth twice before he finally pushes inside of you, guiding your legs back with careful hands until you're practically bent and half and heâs able to fuck you deep like you like it, the head of his cock kissing your cervix every few strokes.Â
âFuck, I love when you take me like this, honey. I canât wait to fuck a baby into you.â
âGod, yes, Yunho-â You groan as he hits your sweet spot over and over. âGive me a few years, but we can pretend in the meantime.âÂ
âMmh, I like the sound of that,â He grunts from the effort, âGonna fuck you so full.â
âEveryone will see I'm yours.â You're about to fall apart around him.Â
âAll. Mine.â He punctuates his words with thrusts, âAll. Fucking. Mine. Forever. Fuck, baby, come with me.âÂ
âYunho!â You cry out as you finish, your orgasm prolonged by the feeling of him pumping you full of his seed.
Truth be told, at least in the heat of the moment, you wouldn't have cared at all had he been able to get you pregnant right then. But you knew as you fell asleep in his arms, how peaceful it was with just the two of you, you would be glad you had a few years with him as yours alone before bringing a whole other human being into the mix.
Kang Yeosang: Yeosang was not necessarily a fan of the holidays before he met you, but he adores them now. More than anything, he adores watching you enjoy them. He buys you matching berets and thinks he's so slick booking the two of you a room at a ski lodge in Austria the week of Christmas. Neither of you intend to ski, but Vienna goes all out for the holiday and he wants to spend several snow days shopping, eating, and sightseeing with you. He buys you anything you show a slight interest in, despite your protests, but his real gift is tucked safely in his luggage at the lodge.Â
Two days into your trip, the two of you are exhausted and decide to spend the day around the ski village rather than in the city. You find Yeosang staring at you with hearts in his eyes more than usual that day. Normally you would blush and tell him to stop, but today, you allowed it. After all, you were doing the same thing.Â
âOh! This looks fun!â He holds up a Sanrio puzzle he found in the kid section. âI know it's for kids but-â
âWe're getting it.â You smiled at how his face lit up. He was so impossible to not just completely adore and fawn over at all times.
âWhat if we go back to our room, order room service, and open this bad boy up?â He asks you, conspiratorial glint in his eye.
âThis is why I love you.â You kiss the apple of his cheek. He's had to train himself not to move so you can't reach him when you try to kiss his face, due to years of acting like he hated it when his friends would do it.Â
âI love you more, angel.â He grabs your hand and leads you over to check out, calling a slightly mispronounced âBitteschĂśn!â over his shoulder to the woman working the cash register on the way out.Â
After dinner, spiked hot chocolates in hand, fireplace roaring in the hearth, the two of you work on the puzzle in comfortable silence. As much as you love talking to Yeosang and would pay good money to live inside his brain for a day, you cherish the fact that the two of you can have such peace in one anotherâs company. No compulsion to disturb the stillness.Â
âOh!â Yeosang looked up after a while, âLook, jagi. It's snowing!âÂ
âReally?!â You loved the snow. Well, you loved looking at the snow.Â
âI wish it could snow inside. But not be cold.â Yeosang stood, pulling you to your feet and leading you over to the big bay window overlooking the powdery slopes.
âYou know what? Yeah, that sounds ideal.â You chuckle, amused as ever at how his mind works. You tuck yourself under his arm and he picks up on your cue, pulling you securely to his side.Â
Sure, it had been snowy the whole time you'd been there, but there was something magical about the big, fat flakes swirling in the air and glittering as they fell on the ground in the bright moonlight.Â
âWe'll probably be snowed in tomorrow.â Yeosang concludes as the two of you watch it accumulate, pulling you in front of himself so he could loop his arms around your waist and kiss the side of your neck. Â
âI mean, we're at a ski resort-â
âShh, babe. We're going to be snowed in tomorrow.â Yeosang says a little more firmly.Â
You catch his drift, âOh! Right. Yes. We'll definitely be snowed in tomorrow! Oh no! What will we do?â You humor him.Â
âDon't worry, my beautiful girl, I'll make sure we're entertained all day while we're snowed in.â He mumbles in your ear, his voice low and carrying an unmistakable edge of desire on it.
âMmh, like what?â You answer, breath hitching in your throat as his hands roam your body, one of them skimming the waistband of your pajama pants, the other finding a light but possessive position around your neck, âI can think of several things. But to start I'm going to fuck you against this window so we can watch the snow fall as I make you come over and over again on this cock.âÂ
âFuck, Sangie-â You gasp as his hand blazes a trail to your core, knowing it will already be wet for him because he knows well what he does to you.
He's good to his word, dedicated as ever to your pleasure, stretching you around his girth, fingers on your clit as he makes you come the first time, heeding your request happily to move in front of the fire as you caught a chill with your bare face and nipples pressed to the cold window.Â
He lays down one of the many plush blankets in front of the fireplace, ensuring you're comfortable before kissing down the slopes of your form, mouth landing between your legs, fingers taking over what his dick finished the first time, taking a more leisurely route to your release the second time, but quick to stuff you full again immediately afterwards for the third, words lost on both of you as pleasure rolls through your bodies in tandem.Â
He washes your hair in the shower afterwards and you're nearly overwhelmed with love for the man you get to call yours. Perfect in every way.Â
Both of you realize it's well past midnight as you cuddle together in bed, âMerry Christmas, precious.â Yeosang smiles at you, eyes once again full with a depth of love you had seen before but not as often as you had recently.Â
âMerry Christmas, Sangie.â You return his gaze, hoping he knows just how much you mean it.Â
âMarry me.â He blurts out, lost in your eyes, âSorry, I had a whole thing planned and I have a ring, I swear-âÂ
You cut him off with a kiss, âKang Yeosang.â You snicker, âYes. God, yes, I'd be so happy to.âÂ
âReally?â He smiles so big it looks like it hurts his cheeks and it definitely hurts your heart with how pure and sweet he is.Â
âYes, baby, of course!â You kiss him again, unable to resist.Â
The kiss deepens and your activities from earlier have an unprecedented encore, all but rendering your shower pointless as you fall apart repeatedly in one another's arms well into the early hours of the morning, watching the sunrise paint the ground pink, the exact shade, you note, of the birthmark by Yeosangâs eye.Â
The two of you sleep late into the day. You're disoriented for a moment as Yeosang flies out of bed and begins rummaging through his luggage, finally finding what he sought and returning to bed with the ring box in hand. You had almost forgotten, or thought it was a dream, and you can't stop the tears as they fall when he fits the most beautiful ring you've ever seen onto your finger.Â
âI'm yours. Forever. For as long as you'll have me, my love.â Yeosangâs deep voice rumbles through your bones, rearranging your neurotransmitter transporters to stop the reuptake of the norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine that was produced any time he spoke.Â
âI want you forever, Yeosang.âÂ
And it was true. You were sure you were the happiest and luckiest person on earth to have earned the trust, love, and dedication of the man beside you. He felt the same way and he intended to show it to you every day for the rest of your life.

This chapter has a tragic backstory for the Y/N character that might be depressing and I want to alert people of that just in case it may trigger them. If you want to read previous chapters, you can find them here.
Waking up feeling good was not something that Joel was used to. In fact? Every morning when Joel woke up, he felt miserable. Each day, it grew harder for Joel just to do anything. Living became a chore and it was hard. But this morning? What Joel felt was unlike anything he felt in a very long time. Comfort. Warmth. When he finally started to stir, he felt relaxed and at ease. So much so that that when he woke up this morning due to the sunlight that was shining through the partially opened blind of the window, he didnât even bother to get up. Everything felt so nice that he just closed his eyes, enjoying the warmth that was wrapped up in his arms.
Sleeping and relaxing was not something he enjoyed. So he wasnât going to fight this feeling. Not when it felt so good to finally be at peace. Even for a little while. Forcing his eyes open was hard, but when he finally did? The memories from the night before flooded into his mind. Tipping his head down, the warmth of Y/Nâs body cuddled in closer to him with her still asleep. Smirking, Joel nuzzled his nose in against the side of her neck. This turned out to be a very complicated thing between them, but he liked it. More than he should have. Squeezing his arm firmly around her waist brought her closer to him and this whole thing made him question things. Was last night just drunken actions brought out because of liquid courage? Had what they done been a mistake? Regardless of those answers, he knew that this was not a feeling that he was used to.
Settling in again, Joelâs eyes fluttered to a close knowing that it had been a long time since he was able to sleep in like this. And thatâs exactly what he did. Fell back asleep. There wasnât a want to force himself to get up. That was until he felt the vibrating of his cell phone in his pocket. At first it was annoying because he was so tired he didnât realize what it was. But when he did? His eyes opened wide with a panicked breath falling from his lips. Raising his head from the pillow, Joel unhooked his arm unhurriedly from around her waist. Digging his hand into his pocket, Joel scoffed when he had a hard time getting his phone out. Finally getting it from his pocket, he lifted it up. Squinting his eyes, Joel had a hard time seeing what the screen was saying. His eyesight was still incredibly blurry. When things came to, Joel cussed out and looked over his shoulder to see what time it was.
âFuck,â Joel slurred noticing that it was eleven and he had promised to meet Tommy at nine downstairs. That meant he was two hours late. And he had plans with Tommy. Which made this whole thing bad.
Raising his head just enough, Joel checked to make sure that Y/N was still sleeping. Even though he didnât want to, he carefully slid out from behind her. Taking his time, he was cautious in the way he helped her get cuddled back into bed before he got up slowly. More than anything, he wanted her to be able to relax, so he didnât rush. He quietly moved through the room, grabbing his boots from the floor. Something caught his foot causing him to stumble from her bedroom into the sitting room and it had him cussing under his breath. Working his boots on, Joel tried to come up with a good lie to give Tommy. Because the truth? The truth would only be too hard to explain. What could he say to Tommy that was actually believable?
Once more his phone started to vibrate in his pocket. Grunting out, Joel realized that Tommy was persistent with this. And it made sense because Tommy was very on about things all the time. Moving to the door, Joel was cautious in the way he opened it because he didnât want to wake her up. Managing to get the door open, Joel snuck out with his back turned. When the door clicked closed, Joel dropped his hands down to pull his pants back together. Turning on his heel as he started hooking his belt back up, Joel felt his heart drop. Jumping, Joelâs eyes connected with Tommyâs from where Tommy was leaning back against the wall that was directly across from the suite. It was almost as if Tommy was expecting him. With a half smile, Joel cleared his throat as he stood up straight.
Dropping his hands, Joel heard his undone belt jangle and he let out a hesitant sound, âTommy. Hey.â
âGoddamn it Joel,â Tommy huffed, throwing his hand up in the air drawing attention to his cell phone. Ending the call, Tommy shoved his phone back into his pocket. Suddenly Joel felt like a child that had been caught red handed doing something awful. âWhen I couldnât find you this morning, I had a feeling that this was where you were. Seeing you with that girl last night?! Sheâs one of our guests Joel.â
âNo, itâs notâŚitâs not what it looks like,â Joel tried to explain himself, dropping his head down when Tommy looked down at his belt. Haphazardly hooking the belt together, Joel stepped away from the door and toward his younger brother. âOkay, it looks bad, but nothing happened. We just were talking and then we slept together. I mean, actually slept. Not the naughty sleep.â
âJoel, she was drunk as a skunk by the time she walked out that door with you,â Tommy reminded Joel with a firm shake of his head. Joel winced when he realized that he himself had a hangover and the sound of Tommy lecturing him along with the bright lights was doing a number on his headache. âThat woman couldnât make any kind of decisionsâŚâ
âWe were both drunk, but I swear I didnât sleep with her,â Joel reiterated to his brother not wanting him to think that he took advantage of a drunk woman. That made him look bad and he was surprised that Tommy would even think heâd do something like that. But suddenly? He grew embarrassed thinking of the truth. âWe justâŚcuddled?â
âYou? You cuddled?â Tommy repeated what Joel had said, his eyes narrowing when he gazed over his brother. âThen why were your pants undone if nothing happened last night?â
âOkay, wellâŚâ Joel thought about that and realized how Tommy could think that was something bad. Now he really was starting to feel like a child being lectured by their parent. âSo we may have kissed once.â
âOnce?â Tommy didnât seem to think everything was adding up with Joel sucking in a sharp breath of air. Red was flooding into Joelâs face with Tommyâs eyebrow arching up in curiosity. âJoel did you sleep with that woman?â
âI slept with her, but I didnât sleep with her. I didnât have sex,â Joel blurt out, hooking his arm around Tommyâs shoulders to get him to move away from the door that led to Y/Nâs room. With them bickering, Joel was nervous that Y/N would be able to hear it. âI swear when I tell you nothing happened, I mean it. We kissed some last night and thatâs all we did. And, yâknow what? Really? Itâs your fault that we did!â
âMy fault? Itâs my fault?â Tommyâs eyes grew wide, his hand placing in over the center of his chest. âItâs my fault that you and Y/N started kissing? How in Godâs name do you reckon I did that big brother?â
âBy putting up mistletoe in front of our fucking inn. Why the hell would you hang mistletoe up with all of them decorations Tommy?â Joel snapped, defending himself in the moment. Really, when he brought her home last night he had no plans of kissing her. The only reason he did was because of that mistletoe. That started the whole thing. Pointing toward the front of the hotel in the direction of the decorations, Joelâs brown eyes grew wide and Tommy still was frustrated along with confused.
âMistletoe? Joel, youâre talking crazy,â Tommy snorted eliciting an annoyed eye roll from Joel. Reaching for Tommyâs arm, Joel led his brother down the steps and outside. Stepping out onto the sidewalk, Joel pointed up toward the mistletoe that the woman had mentioned the night before.
âSee. Itâs mistletoe. You put up fucking mistletoe. We were out here talking and then this old woman came out of the inn lecturing us about how if we didnât kiss, it would be bad luck. So we ended up kissing andâŚâ Joel went to continue, realizing that he was rambling too damn much with Tommyâs dark eyes hooked on the decoration that he put up. âWhy would you even put that there Tommy? Thatâs where our guests show up to check in. What if we have someone helping our guests in and they both end up underneath that?â
âAre you outta your goddamn mind?â Tommy stepped forward, grabbing a hold of Joelâs shoulders to get him to focus on the decoration he was venting about. Holding his hand up, Tommy grunted behind Joel. âThat there Joel, is holly. Not mistletoe.â
âNo. No, see the woman distinctly said it was mistletoe. And if we didnât kiss it would lead to a ton of bad luck,â Joel recalled what had happened the night before. Suddenly things started to spin around him with the idea that he was wrong. âThatâs definitely mistletoe.â
âWhat old woman? We donât have an old woman staying here Joel,â Tommy educated his brother, his nose wrinkling at his brother insisting that he didnât know what the decoration was. âThat there is holly, Joel.â
âNo, itâsâŚâ Joel out of the corner of his eye saw Maria heading out the doors. Scrambling for Maria, Joel hooked his arm around her to lead her back with him and Tommy. âMaria, would you please tell your husband that the decoration that is right there is mistletoe?â
âWhy would I do that?â Maria froze up in Joelâs grasps, eyeing over her shoulder back at Joel. His big, brown eyes looked shocked since she wasnât saying what he wanted to hear. âThatâs holly.â
âI told you,â Tommy asserted to his brother, a laugh falling deep from within his throat. âHow did you get holly mixed up with mistletoe Joel? Holly is the one with the red berries and the dark green leaves. Thatâs not mistletoe.â
âWhy are the two of you having a disagreement about holly?â Maria was entertained that the two of them were bickering outside over this. They often fought a lot, but never over something soâŚunimportant?
âBecause Joel confused the holly for mistletoe and he ended up kissing Y/N last night because of it. Started blaming me because he said I put up mistletoe,â Tommy alerted Maria causing a rush of color to flood into Joelâs face with him getting embarrassed. Now he felt like an idiot for this whole thing. The woman last night was wrong and clearly neither him nor Y/N knew what mistletoe looked like. âI found him sneaking out of her suite just now.â
âOh,â Maria thought about what Tommy said, her eyes getting big when she actually fully acknowledged it. âOh!â
âNothing happened,â Joel repeated what he had told Tommy, seeing the curiosity that flooded Mariaâs features and the smile that followed. Why was no one believing him? âNothing happened. I swear.â
âIf you say so,â Maria reached out to pat Joel on the shoulder. Groaning out, Joel lifted his hand to cover his eyes. Both the stress of this and the sunlight was giving him a migraine at this point. âTommy, go take your brother inside and get him something to help him with his hangover.â
âYes maâam,â Tommy was quick to agree, dragging Joel into the building and toward the empty bar knowing that no one else would be there so they could talk. Sitting Joel down, Tommy grabbed Joel some medication for his headache and then brought him some coffee. âSoâŚnow you like this girl? Last time I spoke to you, you couldnât stand her.â
âIâŚâ Joel could have lied, his dark eyes lifting to meet Tommyâs stare. Sure, he always bickered with the girl, but he didnât think he hated her. âI donât know. We hardly know each other.â
âBut you liked her enough to sleep with her,â Tommy stressed to his brother getting another glare from Joel. Throwing his hands up, Tommy knew that if looks could kill he would be dead. âSleep with her. Not have sex with her.â
âThank you,â Joel appreciated that Tommy acknowledged that bit. At this point, he was still fairly certain that both Tommy and Maria thought he had sex with Y/N. âIâm sorry I didnât meet you at nine. I just, I was so comfortable that I ignored what time it was and I just went back to bed. It feltâŚâ
âNice?â Tommy finished for Joel with his lips parting. At that moment his Adamâs apple bounced in his throat. Dropping his head down, Joel shakily brushed his fingers throughout his hair and hissed. Giving Tommy one single nod made Tommy smile brightly. âWow. Not what I saw happening. You like the new girl.â
âSheâs crazy,â Joel exclaimed, throwing his hand up in the air after he tossed the pills into his mouth. âWho jumps on a plane with no idea where they are going?â
âShe did,â Tommy answered Joel who continued to vent.
âWho takes the advice of a random stranger, doesnât even study where they are going and ends up freezing because they got themselves into this mess?â Joel continued to ramble drawing out a snort from Tommy.
âShe did,â Tommy repeated his answer, sliding in beside his brother realizing that his brother was having a tiny meltdown about the woman that had just come to their inn.
âI canât like someone like that. Iâm nothing like that,â Joel exhaled loudly, the lines in his forehead growing deeper. âWho ends up having feelings for someone in a day?â
âYou do,â Tommy was quick to respond, getting a glare from Joel that made him laugh out loud. It was interesting to see Joel like this. Especially since Tommy couldnât remember a time when a woman had Joel flustered in a good way.
âThis isnât funny Tommy. Sheâs a mess,â Joel repeated what he knew to be true. Even last night when they were in the bar together, her drunk rant proved that to him. âShe makes crazy, impulsive decisions without thinking them through.â
âSo?â Tommy didnât know why that was a bad thing. Having Joel panic about that of all things didnât make sense to Tommy. âYouâre a mess too.â
âThanks for that,â Joel sneered, his head dropping down with his brother only confirming what Joel also knew to be true. The thought of all of this had an ache growing at the center of Joelâs chest. âI found her infuriating at first.â
âWhat changed that?â Tommy wondered, his brown eyes searching his brotherâs trying to understand what happened that had Joelâs opinion of her change completely.
âShe did,â Joel didnât elaborate, his hand placing in over the center of his chest. Trying to gather words, Joel didnât know what he could say. He wasnât exactly sure where to start because he didnât know when he started feeling things for her. âIt canât be anything though because she just got here. I barely know the woman.â
âSometimes, when you know you know,â Tommy stammered, tapping his hand against the bar top watching Joel take a long swig of the coffee. âAll it takes is a look sometimes for you to know youâre hooked. Thatâs all it took for me with Maria.â
âSheâs nothing like any of the woman Iâve gotten with before,â Joel considered his past and thought back on the women he had in his life previously. Comparing her to them was hard because she didnât have much in common with them.
âMaybe thatâs a good thing?â Tommy pointed out, throwing his hand about realizing that this was the most his brother probably talked in the last few months. âItâs kinda cute seeing you flustered over a woman. That must have been some kiss.â
âDonât,â Joel begged realizing that Tommy was poking fun at him. âYouâre gonna start acting weird around her which is gonna make things worse in general. I donât even know if she wanted to really kiss me last night or if it was because we were both drunk. She may not even remember doing it.â
âIs that something you would prefer?â Tommy pushed his brother for information, actually wanting to know Joelâs feelings on the issue. âWould you rather ignore things between you both?â
âSheâs gonna leave Tommy,â Joel reminded his brother about the woman that they were currently talking about. âSheâs from New York City. Sheâs just here because her mental health was poor and she needed to escape a bad situation. Once she gathers herself, sheâs just gonna leave. And then what?â
âWhenâs the last time you had a relationship with someone?â Tommy questioned waiting for his brother to answer, but Joel refused. âWhen is the last time that you did anything with anyone?â
Again, Joel didnât answer Tommy he just forced himself to look away, âWhy is it so bad to allow yourself to get close to someone? Even if for a while.â
âBecause Iâm not like you,â Joel reminded Tommy, a scoff falling from his parted lips. âIâm not the hopeless romantic that makes people happy. Iâm the last person that people want to have a relationship with. I donât make emotional connections with people.â
âWell, maybe itâs time to change that,â Tommy threw his hands up in the air trying to persuade his brother that this whole thing wasnât what he thought it was. Reaching for the coffee, Joel took a long sip of it and grumbled to himself. âI never saw you dance with anyone. Not even Tess when the two of you were together. She got you to do things Iâve never seen.â
âOnly because I was worried that someone would take advantage of her,â Joel explained, setting the coffee cup down and waving his hand about in the air. Last night when she ran off to dance, he was genuinely concerned that someone in town would take advantage of her. âShe was running her mouth off about things because she was very much drunk. Certain people heard her talkinâ and I think they would have tried to do something.â
âLook at you coming in and being her hero,â Tommy teased Joel, reaching out to poke Joel in the ribs multiple times. The first poke had Joel arching away from Tommy, the next few had Joelâs glare growing. A low rumble of an amused sound followed from Tommy who got comfortable beside Joel again. âI donât see the problem here big brother. You saved a girl from getting hurt. You walked her home. You kissed and the two of youâŚcuddled? If something more comes of it? Good. If nothing comes from it? Then whatever. But I donât think itâs a bad thing.â
âIâve worked really hard to keep myself from getting close to anyone,â Joel reminded Tommy with a frown, reaching up to shakily brush his fingers through his hair. A smirk tugged at Tommyâs lips with how that caused Joelâs hair to become messier than it already was. âGood things never happen when I get close to people.â
âMaybe thatâs just bullshit that youâve tried to convince yourself,â Tommy thought aloud, tapping his hands on top of the bar hearing movement behind them. The bar was still closed until tonight so there should have been no one in there. A relieved breath escaped Tommy when he saw it was just one of their employees coming in to clean up. âMaybe youâre not bad luck. You just havenât found the right people. Maybe things are starting to look up for you.â
Joel went quiet. It was hard to really think that was the case after everything he had gone through in his life. Good luck was not something he had often. But would it really be good developing feelings for a woman he hardly knew? A woman that lived across the country from him? That didnât sound like good luck. That sounded complicated. And he wasnât sure that he was ready for more complications in his life.
Since he had moved to Jackson, he had been able to shut himself off from the world. In this small town, he only had to deal with the people that lived here and the guests that came to stay in their inn. Even at that though, Tommy and Maria were the ones that dealt mostly with the guests. It was rare that he did. Joel just did a lot of the other things around the inn. Now having this girl come swooping into his life having him acting in ways he hadnât in a very long time scared him.
âIâm sorry I missed doing that thing today,â Joel apologized realizing that this whole time had been spent on talking about Y/N when he had plans to do something with Tommy originally. âI should have set an alarm. I hope you had fun.â
âOh, we didnât go yet. We are actually planning on leaving in like an hour or two,â Tommy alerted Joel, looking to his wrist to check the time. âSomething happened this morning that was kinda big. We decided to push it back a couple of hours. So you can still go. Which reminds me, I have to go do a few things. Meet you in a few? You wonât go disappearing on me again now, will you?â
âTommy,â Joel scoffed, reaching for his coffee again. With a smirk, Tommy got up from his seat. Reaching out to pat Joel on the shoulder, Tommy gave his brother a wink and then walked away leaving Joel to himself sitting at the bar.
Once he was alone, Joel started thinking about things more so in depth. Even though he hated to admit it, he really did enjoy kissing Y/N last night. Ever since he left her hotel room, all he could think about was her. The way it felt to kiss her. How right it felt to wake up with her in his arms this morning. It had been a long time since Joel had allowed himself to relax to that level with someone.
Finishing up his coffee, Joel got up and paced for a while. Truthfully he didnât know where to go from here. Would he avoid Y/N? Would he try to talk to her? What could he do? She was a guest in the inn that he owned. There would really be no avoiding her. This was a small town. At some point they would run into each other whether he wanted them to or not.
But? Honestly? He didnât want to avoid her.
Heading to the restaurant, Joel grabbed a couple of things and then headed back into the lobby. Sitting down on the bottom step of the large staircase in the lobby Joel waited. And surprisingly he didnât have to wait long. Hearing the sound of movement, Joel looked over his shoulder to see that moving down the stairs groggily was Y/N. Rubbing at her eyes, she stopped at the split section of the stairs to yawn. The way she stretched out her body caused Joel to smirk. Fuck. He needed to stop doing that. It was almost an involuntary action. Why was just looking at this girl making him want to smile?
Standing up from the bottom step, Joel turned on his heel and waited for her to make it down the stairs. Once her tired eyes fluttered to an open, he shifted on his feet nervously when their eyes connected. Lifting her hand up to give Joel a slight wave elicited him to give her a small nod in response. Unhurriedly she moved down the steps and when she made it to the final one, she stopped to stare out at him.
âHi,â Joel spoke quietly, not sure of what to say while he stood before her. Truthfully? He probably looked awkward just staring out at her like he was.
âHi,â she repeated with a weak smile.
Suddenly there was silence between the two of them when he lifted his hands, âThese are for you.â
âFor me?â she stammered, a bit of color flooding into her cheeks at the idea of it when Joel lowered them down. Nodding again, Joel found himself tipping his head from side to side.
âFollow me?â Joel requested motioning her to get off the stairs. After she did, he led her around the large staircase and beyond the Christmas tree toward the sitting area in the back. Since it was midday and most people were off doing something else there werenât many people there. That meant the sitting area was left open for them to be alone. Allowing her to take a seat by the fire, he heard her groan when she buried her head into her hands. âHere, itâs a latte to help with the fatigue and I got you some oatmeal.â
âOatmeal?â she lifted her head, her eyes narrowing questioning his reasoning.
âYeah, itâs uhâŚitâs got some honey and some fruit in it. Itâs supposed to help with the hangover. I figured you mighta had one,â Joel commented handing her over the two things he had gotten her from the restaurant in the inn. Setting the bag that he gave her on the table near them, she was quick to take a sip of the latte first. âYouâre really gonna want to eat that oatmeal. Take it from someone who is probably the king of hangovers. Itâs gonna help you.â
Watching her closely, Joel lowered down into his seat and got comfortable. There was some silence between the two of them and he cleared his throat, âSo how is Doctor Love doing this morning?â
âExcuse me?â she responded, her brow line creasing when she started digging into the bag for the cup of oatmeal that he had gotten for her. Setting it down on the table, she pulled out the plastic spoon and her head tipped to the side.
âWell, I donât know if you remember the things you said last night after drinking as much as you didâŚâ Joel began wondering if he should really say this considering how drunk she was, but he wanted to poke at her just a little bit. âBut Iâm pretty sure around town you are going to be known as the doctor who gives amazing blowjobs. The one who can make someone experience the biggest orgasms because she was trained to know the human body.â
A loud, coughing sound escaped her lips with her eyes growing big, âNo! Come on! I didnât say that. Please tell me I didnât say that.â
âOh, yes you did,â Joel declared with a steady nod provoking the color to flood into her face with embarrassment. âYou really stressed very loudly at the bar just how good at giving a blowjob you really were. And people at the bar did hear you.â
âGreat,â she groaned out loud getting the first hearty, deep laugh to fall from Joelâs lips. Pinching at the bridge of her nose, she didnât know how to respond to that. âPlease tell me youâre pulling my chain. I didnât say that.â
âOh no, you said that. Then you talked about being able to edge someone until they have the most explosive orgasm,â Joel continued, snorting when she reached out to hit him at the center of the chest since he was so amused with her drunk antics. Falling back against the chair, he lifted his arms to block her with laughter continuing to escape him. Dropping her head back, she muttered something under her breath and then reached for her coffee again. Embarrassment was flooding her body and he found it cute. âI think the town is gonna start to know you. And youâll probably get some of the weirder folks here coming to try to interact with you.â
âWonderful. Thatâs exactly what I want to be known for,â she rolled her eyes, not exactly surprised that she did that, but disappointed in herself. âIâm so sorry you had to put up with me last night. I can only imagine how miserable I made you.â
âOh, I donât know. I found some of it amusing,â Joel suggested, dropping his hands back down to caress at his knees. Now that he looked back on things, he did find it funny whereas last night he was panicked she would get hurt. âSo you donât remember last night, huh?â
âLike what?â she started to poke at the oatmeal he had gotten her. When she started to eat it, Joel took a look around to make sure that they were alone. Clearing his throat, he slid in closer to her and rest his elbows against his knees. Noticing him near her, she swallowed loudly. âWhy? What else did I do?â
âSo you donât remember me walking you home or anything like that?â Joel wondered, deep down wishing that she did. And that surprised him. Taking a moment to think about what he was asking her, she shrugged slightly and took another bite of the oatmeal. âLike nothing about last night rings a bell?â
âIs there something that I should be remembering?â she questioned, her right eyebrow arching in a moment of curiosity. Disappointment seemed to flood Joelâs features with his breathing growing uneven. Leaning back against the chair, he kicked his feet at the floor trying to distract himself. âJoel?â
âNo, nothing important,â Joel waved his hand in the air dismissively. If she didnât remember what happened, then there was no reason for him to bring it up. In its own way, that just made it easier for him to deal with what happened last night.
They both remained quiet until she set the oatmeal down on the table. Sliding in closer to Joel, she wiggled her finger motioning him closer. Thinking that she wanted to whisper something to him, Joel pulled himself to the edge of the chair. Reaching out, her hand palmed in over the side of Joelâs face having his eyes flutter to a tight close. Lazily she dragged her fingers down over his chiseled jawline toward his chin. Tipping his head back, she leaned in to bring their lips together in the softest of kisses. It had a breath catching in his throat and when she pulled back, his eyes unhurriedly opened back up.
âYes, I remember last night,â she confessed, a wicked smile tugging at her lips showing him that she was just playing with him. His heart was hammering. He really believed her when she was acting like she didnât remember what the two of them did. âAnd I donât regret a minute of it.â
âReally?â Joelâs long eyelashes fluttered, his brown eyes searching hers. As if he was trying to figure out if she was lying to him or not. Right now his breathing was labored and he was fixed on her.
âReally,â she snickered, sliding in again. This time Joel met her halfway with their lips colliding together in a fiery kiss. The first one was very sweet, but this one showed that the both of them still had last night on their minds. Most of the time Joel would have been uncomfortable showing this kind of affection in public, but right now? All he saw was her. Caress after caress of her lips over his felt amazing and he didnât want to stop. Breathlessly she pulled back slightly to offer up a weak smile. âThank you for taking care of me last night when I was making a fool of myself.â
With a slow nod of his head, Joelâs hand shakily reached up to drag his thumb across her bottom lip, âalthough, I do have to admit to you everything gets a little fuzzy after we sat down by the fire. I have memories here and there. But I donât know how we ended up in my bed. Which I did wake up a few times, but I didnât have the energy to get up.â
âWell, you crawled up into my lap,â Joel leaned back against the chair still tasting the fruitiness that was left over his lips from her kiss after she had been eating the oatmeal. âWe were kissing and then you wanted to give me one of your amazing blowjobs. But? That ended with your head falling into my lap with you passing out.â
âOh God,â she bit down at her bottom lip, lowering her head down in shame. Snorting at her embarrassment Joel knew that this was not good with how this woman made him feel. âI am so sorry.â
âIâm not,â Joel confessed, his Adamâs apple bouncing in his throat. Even though this went against everything that he was, Joel was smitten with her. âI didnât think you were capable of making those kind of decisions with how drunk you were. I felt bad for even letting it get as far as we did. So I carried you back into your room, got you ready for bed and you asked me to stay with you.â
âAnd you did?â she stammered getting Joel to nod again. Joelâs fingertips were nervously stroking over the material over the arms of the chair. It was something that she easily picked up on but didnât call him out on it. âThank you. It was the best night of sleep Iâve had in a very long time.â
âThe alcohol probably helped,â Joel noted, a weak smile pressing in over his handsome features when she finished off the oatmeal that he had gotten for her. âAlthough, I reckon I made the biggest fool outta myself this morning when I talked to Tommy about it.â
âYou told Tommy?â she was surprised to hear that, gazing around and looking for Tommy.
âWell, he kinda found me sneaking out of your room this morning. Well, afternoon. I was supposed to meet him at nine this morning to do this thing with him,â Joel rambled feeling like maybe he was talking too much. Really, he talked more today than he probably had talked in months. âHe thought we slept together, so I had to explain. And I found out that what we kissed under last night wasnât mistletoe. It was holly. That old woman had no idea what she was talking about.â
Amusement flooded her features triggering his heart to skip a beat at the sight. How did this woman go from driving him crazy to taking his breath away in less than a day? Something about that didnât feel right, but he didnât care.
âTo be fair,â she sucked in a sharp breath of air, straightening up her posture. Releasing a tiny laugh and shrugging her shoulders had Joelâs gazed locked upon her. âBoth of us were very drunk. And while I may be a doctor, I donât know Christmas plants.â
âNeither do I apparently,â Joel mused, his hand outstretching just enough to have the backs of his fingers brush against hers. âYou donât feel weird about things?â
âWeird about what?â she replied, hooking her fingers somewhat with his. Just having her do that had his heartrate growing faster.
âUs,â Joel spoke up, his mind still spiraling with all of the what ifs in this situation.
âYou are the first thing I havenât regretted since leaving that hospital,â she assured him which made him feel better to hear, but how could two people who barely knew each other have a connection like this? Especially since they started off not being extremely fond of one another.
âHey! There the two of you are,â a voice called out to them, drawing Joel to scoot back in the chair pulling his fingers from hers. Kneeling down between the two of them, they were met with the familiar smile of Tommy. âI was thinking Y/N, since youâre new here and you havenât really gotten the chance to have someone take you aroundâŚJoel and I were going to join a few of our friends to go snowmobiling around the local park today. It gets really pretty during the winter and I think youâd really like it. What do you think?â
âTommy?â Joel said his brotherâs name, sliding forward in the seat. That was something he wished that Tommy would have spoken to him about first.
âMaria was supposed to come with us today, but something came up so she had to cancel. I already loaded her snowmobile onto the truck so if she wants to come, Iâd love to bring her,â Tommy finished up with his thoughts, giving Y/N back the attention. Noticing the discomfort in Joelâs body, she didnât know how to respond to Tommy. Did the way that he was reacting mean that he didnât want her there? âSo what do you say?â
âWhat happened with Maria?â Joel remembered just speaking to Maria, so he knew that she wasnât sick or anything.
âOh, something just came up here,â Tommy explained, waving his hand about like it was no big deal. âNothing to worry about.â
âDo you want me to figure things out here so she can go with you?â Joel pressed further, not wanting his brother to miss out on something that him and Maria had planned for months.
âNo, sheâs got this. Trust me. No one would be able to handle it better than her, big brother,â Tommy dismissed Joelâs thoughts and turned back to Y/N. âIf you want to come, I can actually send you to Maria. She can hook you up with something to wear so that way you arenât cold. I think you wonât regret coming along. Our friend thatâs taking us actually runs these snowmobile tours.â
âYeah, sure. I guess that would be cool,â she agreed to go with them. Her answer seemed to make Tommy very happy, but Joel on the other hand was nervous. Standing up from the chair, she reached for her coffee and let out a tight breath. âWhere should I go see her?â
âSheâs right at registration waiting for you. I told her what I was planning so when you head over there she will take you with her,â Tommy pointed in the other direction where Maria was. Waiting until Y/N left, Tommy made sure that they were alone when he turned to Joel again who was glaring at him. âWhat?â
âThe hell you doinâ Tommy?â Joel snarled, his nose wrinkling in distaste for whatever Tommy had up his sleeve. There was no question in his mind that Tommy was attempting to hook him up with this women and got Maria to join him in it.
âIâm just making things a little easier. It doesnât hurt to do things with this woman so you two can spend more time together and see where this goes,â Tommy elaborated on his plan resulting in an eye roll from Joel whose body language changed completely when he heard what Tommy was doing. âLetâs show her that Jackson is a very beautiful place. Especially during the winter. Youâll get to spend some time with her. See if you still feel the way about her that you did when you were drunk. It doesnât hurt.â
âYouâre lovinâ this,â Joel acknowledged realizing that his brother was way too happy about this whole situation. And he wasnât exactly sure why Tommy was so interested in pushing the two of them closer together. âWhy?â
âWhy not?â Tommy threw his hands up in the air, circling a bit as he started back stepping toward the front of the inn. âHow about we go get ready for this thing? Make sure we have everything and see where it takes us?â
Shaking his head, Joel knew that he didnât have much of a choice in this. Tommy already put the wheels in motion and he was going to have to play along and see where this whole thing went.
----
Standing in the middle of an open field at the nearest national park had Y/N in an absolute awe. For some reason, when she agreed to do this whole thing with Tommy and Joel, she imagined the car ride over here would be incredibly uncomfortable. But honestly? It wasnât. It was a seven minute drive where she sat in the backseat of the truck with Joel. Sure, they were both quiet and didnât say a word, but it would have been awkward talking around Tommy and his friend she had only just met in the lobby of the inn for a few minutes.
Now, as the boys and their friends prepared the snowmobiles, she couldnât help but stand in the middle of the large plot of land staring out at everything surrounding her. There were mountains in New York that she had seen before traveling out, but nothing like this. This was stunning. All of the treetops were covered in snow. And the mountain range in the distance was like that out of a painting. It took her breath away.
The only thing that was bad about this whole thing was what you had to wear in order to do this. You had to wear a certain kind of clothes called under layers that were made from a certain material so you stayed warm but didnât sweat. Then, you had to put on your snowmobile suits. And the worst part about that? A loud swooshing sound would fill the air every time you moved. It honestly reminded her of when she was a child wanting to go out and play in the snow. How her mother would dress her up in a snowsuit where she could barely move. This felt almost exactly like the same thing. Along with all of this you had to wear a face mask, a helmet, goggles, gloves, good socks and boots. With how many layers she had on, she wondered if she would even be able to steer the damn thing.
âHowâs it goinâ?â Joelâs southern drawl pulled her attention back to him when he approached her. The loud swishing sound elicited a smile from her with every step he made toward her.
âI feel like the abominable snowman,â she announced, throwing her hands up in the air. Wiggling a bit had Joel tipping his head to the side, his eyes narrowing while she clearly was having fun at the idea of what she was dressed in. âIâm sorry, Iâm just not used to so many layers.â
âThereâs a reason for that,â Tommy interrupted before Joel could respond. Unlike Joel, this woman seemed to have a lot of energy and Tommy was eager to push the two of them closer together. Maybe she would be good for Joel. And thatâs all he kept thinking. âWeâre gonna be out there for a while. Itâs cold as hell out there. You donât want to freeze and you donât want to get hurt. So itâs all about protection and safety. Us Texas boys werenât used to these temperatures when we came up here. We came from a place that when even a little snow fell, the whole town shut down. Now being here? Well, it can be a constant snowstorm and somehow the town still finds a way to keep runninâ.â
âAre you warm enough?â Joel stammered, pointing his finger from top to bottom with what she was wearing.
âOh yeah, Iâm great,â she insisted with a long pause, her head tipping from side to side. Considering how much snow they were surrounded by? She actually was surprised just how warm her body was. âWell, except for my nose. Thatâs freezing. But everything else? Iâm great!â
âThatâs easy to fix,â Joel insisted walking to her and she wondered how he managed to still look good in these suits. Because for her? She felt like she looked like she waddled in these things. Biting at his glove Joel managed to get one of them off before reaching for the other. Extending his hands out, he hooked his fingers into her facemask to pull it up over her mouth and over her nose. âThatâs how itâs supposed to be. Itâll keep you warmer.â
A breath caught in her throat with the way that Joel stroked at the sides of her face, almost cupping her face in his grasp. Giving her a wink, Joel worked his gloves back on and in that moment he realized that both Y/N and Tommy were frozen staring out at him.
âWhatâs with the staring Tommy?â Joel snorted, shaking his head about. Immediately Tommy shook his head and threw his hands up like nothing was going on. But deep down Tommy was actually impressed with the way that his brother had helped her. Where Y/N was smitten, Tommy couldnât believe he was seeing his brother taking care of someone like that. Motioning Y/N to follow him, Joel rubbed his hands together and then led her toward the snowmobile. âYâknow how to ride one of these?â
âOh, yeahâŚof course I do,â she lied gazing upon the snowmobile realizing that she should have considered what they were actually doing. Sheâd never been on a snowmobile in her life. Most of her life was very sheltered. The only thing she had ever done in the winter was go on a sled. So for her, this was completely new.
âYou have no idea do you?â Joel interrogated with her nodding showing that he was right. Grumbling under his breath, Joel waved her forward so he could show her. Sitting down on the one that she would be using, he made sure that she was looking. âYou always gotta keep your feet safely in like this when youâre sitting. Make sure youâre comfortable. Relaxed. Donât try to stop it with your feet. These things are heavy, if you fall wrong I reckon youâll break something. When youâre turning, itâs like a bike. You turn the handles this way for left, this way for right.â
For some reason with Joel giving her instructions, she found herself lost in what he was saying. Suddenly everything felt like it was a foreign language but she nodded along because she didnât want to embarrass herself. Trying hard to pay attention, she swallowed down realizing that this might have been her biting off more than she could chew.
âNow you sit,â Joel got up, helping her to get into position on the snowmobile. âThe right is the gas. When you make your turns youâre gonna wanna lean into them, okay? It just helps on the sharper curves. On the left you have the break. Itâs a whole lot easier than it seems. I promise you. You donât have to worry.â
âDo I look scared?â she was curious, hearing Tommy laughing beside her. In all of that time she didnât even realize that Tommy was still with them.
âYou look mortified,â Tommy answered for Joel, nodding his head about. âTrust me, itâs not that hard. The first part is just a long stretch of land. Not too many turns. We just are gonna go out into the middle of the park. Get ourselves used to things and then some of the other things Joel told you will come into play.â
Maybe this would have been better if she had taken a whole day to learn how to do this instead of just a few minutes before their trip. That would have made it easier and made more sense. Even though she was uncomfortable, she went ahead with things. Joel insisted that he wanted to ride behind her just to make sure that she didnât get left behind. And that made her nervous because she was afraid of making herself look like an idiot in front of him.
Watching others do it made it easier. None of them looked uncomfortable or worried. They just got on, put their face shields down and went. So she attempted to do the same. Of course it didnât work as easily for her, but once she got started, it was actually pretty cool. Even though this was something she had no idea how to do, it was thrilling. The sights as they went were indescribable. Nothing like this was out in New York. This was the kind of thing she had only seen in paintings and photos. The snow over the mountains was slick giving it a bright shine with the sun hitting it just right. She wished she would have strapped a camera onto her because this would likely be a once in a lifetime experience. Everything about this was magical. For the first time since being to Jackson, she really did see the beauty that would draw people to something like this.
On their ride, she saw out toward the trees some of the animals that were roaming around the park. Never in her life had she seen a moose. Nor did she realize just how big they were. But today she saw a few of them. And while doing this she was starting to feel like a kid all over again.
When they came to a stop, she was worried that something was wrong, but the leader of their group wanted to show them something that he thought they would like. Leading them through a walkway, she was surprised to see that he brought them to a set of stairs. So much snow covered them that she knew someone would kill themselves if they tried to walk down it.
âWhat we are going to do is slide down,â Tommy repeated what the instructor told him. âIf you look, other people have done this to the point that itâs created a slide all the way to the bottom. Itâs easy. Just watch us and then you can do it. There is this really beautiful waterfall that looks great in the summertime, but in the winter itâs breathtaking.â
Stepping up to the stairs, she watched the first few of them sliding down laughing as they did it. Footsteps in the snow had her gazing beside her to see that Joel was lifting up his face guard, âYou donât have to go if you arenât comfortable.â
âThis isnât too bad. If I can handle the plane ride here, I can handle this,â she assured him with a wink. But really? She wondered if she was trying to convince him of that or herself. Holding his hand out for her, Joel helped her lower down so that she was in position. Pushing herself off, she was surprised how easily she slid down the stairs. It reminded her of when she was a child going down a slide at the playground, but this one was much more interesting. Once she reached the bottom, Tommy was waiting for her, holding out his hand to help her up. âThank you.â
A loud grunt filled the air behind her with Joel coming down. Smirking, Tommy carefully moved around her to help Joel up to his feet. Joel had more trouble getting up than she did, but by the time he did get up to his feet he gave the both of them a thumbs up.
Together the group walked in a line, one by one along the side of a path of water. Considering the walkway that was there, this was something a lot of people must have done previously. It was a longer walk than she expected and multiple times she had almost slipped. More than anything, she wanted to avoid embarrassing herself in front of Joel. After everything? She just wanted to look good for him.
When they approached the overlook for the waterfall, it had her stopping in her tracks. A sense of awe flooded her veins at the sight of the frozen over waterfall. Everything looked like that out of a movie. Everything was frozen over except for a small amount of water that was still flowing. They area they were in was the true definition of a winter wonderland. The mountains surrounding them were covered in ice. The trees covered in snow. Where they were, it felt like they were surrounded. What she was feeling was amazement.
âNot so bad after all, huh?â Joelâs voice pressed in beside her with him flipping his helmet up once he stepped in beside her. âMaybe Jackson ainât as bad as you thought.â
âThis is incredible,â she confessed, following Joel further down toward the water. The way the trees surrounded her gave her the effect of what she thought it might be like to be inside of a snow globe. Large pieces of ice were shattered off into the water that was flowing slowly away from them. And if she wasnât with someone who knew where they were going, she may have felt a sense of panic.
In the distance, she noticed that Joel was walking further down closer to the frozen waterfall. Everyone was up on the top level, but Joel was continuing down to the lower one. Taking her time, she was cautious in how she moved, not wanting to slip. Looking back over her shoulder, she made sure that they were alone as she approached Joel who was standing at the edge observing everything.
Outstretching her hand, she placed it between Joelâs shoulders. The sensation made him jump, but when he looked back at her she felt her heart rate quicken when he grew comfortable at the sight of her. Pulling off his helmet, Joel kept it in his arms and motioned her to do the same.
âThis is a place I think you will want a photo at,â Joel urged her to pull out her phone. Which honestly? Getting it out took longer than she thought it would. Pushing the goggles up and away from her eyes, she tugged at the bottom of her mask to reveal her face. âGet into position.â
Waving her on, Joel was quick to take a photo of her with the frozen waterfall behind her. After handing her the phone back, Joel went to leave, but she was quick to reach for him, âTake a photo with me?â
âTogether?â Joel seemed surprised to hear that request, but he tugged at his mask and pulled it down so she could get a picture of them together. Wrapping his arm loosely around her brought them close together so they could take a photo. After she shoved her phone back into her zipper pocket on her suit, Joel grumbled something under his breath before speaking up again. âI donât typically take photos with the guests that are staying at the inn.â
âIâm going to guess you probably donât go around kissing your customers either,â she slurred, stepping in closer to Joel.
Grabbing a loose hold of his suit made a swishing sound that had both of them cringing. It was loud and it was awful. But he allowed her to pull him close. Even if this was a bad place to do this, she couldnât help but find this area romantic. Bringing their lips together in a faint kiss allowed her to realize just how cold they both were. The heat from their kiss was a vast contrast to the air around them.
âWhere did you two run off to?â Tommy called out to them having Joel quickly backstepping away from her with a nervous sound. Pulling his mask back up had her releasing out a tremoring breath. It was too soon for Joel and she understood that.
Together the rest of them started to head back to their snowmobiles. For a while everything was fine. They followed the main path and saw a lot of beautiful areas that she thought were stunning. It was when they came to a narrow path that she realized things were getting a bit too tight for her. Considering she was new to this whole thing, having this tight of a curve made her uncomfortable. One wrong tug of the handles had her sliding down the hill into a snow pile.
Immediately, she regretted it. And she felt an overwhelming sense of embarrassment flooding through her. Nothing was hurt, she just went into a snow pile. Looking back over her shoulder, she noticed that both Tommy and Joel were headed down to check on her. The first thing Tommy did was make sure that everything was turned off. Joel on the other hand? He was quick to check on her, making sure nothing was hurt or broken.
âIâm okay. Other than my pride being gone,â she promised Joel who helped her up from the snowmobile. âI am so sorry, I didnât mean for that to happen. It just got tight and this was my firstâŚâ
âDonât apologize,â Tommy stressed, pointing back toward the area she had slid down from. âI can just pull the snowmobile up and drag it.â
âHow about you drag it back and Iâll have her ride with me? I know things are gonna be a bit tight so I reckon I can make sure she doesnât get hurt or anything,â Joel spoke to his brother, helping her up the side of the hill to his snowmobile. Getting her comfortable, Joel made sure that she would be okay before going over to help Tommy. When he came back, she felt tense that she fucked up, but also happy because it meant she got to cuddle up to Joel. After demanding having her wrap her arms around him, Joel had her swooning over him. This was his way of protecting her. And she liked it. It was hard to focus from that moment on.
By the time they got back to the truck, she tried helping them but Joel had taken her to the passengerâs seat, turned on the heat and motioned her to warm up. Part of her felt guilty while they finished working, but Joel wasnât wrong in bringing her here. She was freezing and this was helping her. The people here were used to this kind of weather. She wasnât. Everything was numb and the heat from the car did feel nice on her fingers.
On the drive back, Joel sat beside her rubbing her hands in his. Even though it didnât do much to warm her up since he was cold too, she appreciated the gesture. Joel thought he was doing something nice and she wasnât going to reject it. As they returned to town, Tommy had alerted them that they were going to meet up with Maria for dinner. It wasnât even a case of Tommy inviting her, he just told her that she was coming with them.
Thankfully, it wasnât a high-end place because she felt like she looked like a mess after taking her snow suit off. She would have preferred to go back to the hotel to clean up, but neither of the boys cleaned up. Joelâs hair was a mess after he took his suit off and she couldnât help but laugh. It was cute and charming. Although, every time he looked to her, she tried to hide that she was laughing to avoid embarrassing him. When Joel pulled out her seat for her, she was impressed with his continued showing of chivalry. That was something she had not grown accustomed to living in New York. So Joel being like this was a pleasant surprise.
âI hope you donât mind this place,â Tommy called out from across the table from where he was sitting beside Maria. Loud music was playing and it was visibly a sports bar that they were at. Everyone had already ordered and it was nice to just sit back after the day they had. âItâs just simple things like burgers and what not. But we like it here. The big man here loves him some burgers.â
âYeah. Thatâs me. The burger man,â Joel snickered, accepting the beer that the waiter set on the table for him. Shaking his head, Joel rolled his eyes at his brother not sure if he was attempting to embarrass him or not. Y/N seemed to be staring at him from where she was seated beside Joel. âWe just like things laid back in our family.â
âIâd actually prefer that,â she explained to them, kind of glad that they seemed to be in an area that they were closed off from the rest of the public for now. She had grown ill at ease when people would stare at her. But this time she wasnât alone. So maybe people would mind their own business. âI would usually get some kind of carry out on the way home anyways. I would be tired and Iâd usually eat alone.â
âSo tell us some more about yourself,â Maria leaned across the table, getting Y/Nâs attention. Tapping her hands against the tabletop, Maria shrugged her shoulders and sighed. âAll we really know about you is that you are a doctor from New York City.â
âOh, thatâs not really something that you want to hear,â she waved her hand about remembering what happened the last time that she tried to talk about herself. Joel had no interest then and she didnât want to bore him now. Joelâs brown eyes were locked on her as he took a long swig of his beer. âJoel really doesnât like hearing those kind of things.â
A cough escaped Joel when he choked on his beer and dropped the beer bottle down with a clanking sound. Catching the bottle before it fell, Joel was quick to shake his head and clear his throat, âI donât mind. They are the ones that are asking.â
âWell, what do you want to know?â she wasnât quite sure where to start noticing the way that Tommy wrapped his arm around the back of Mariaâs chair.
âHow about what made you want to be a doctor?â Tommy threw something out there, waving his free hand about. âThat seems like it would be a stressful job to have. Especially in New York City. Did you always want to be a doctor?â
âNo, I didnât want to be a doctor when I was a child,â she took a moment to consider what she would tell them, feeling uneasy with all of their eyes on her. Each of them were listening closely and she didnât know how honest she should be. âI think I wanted to be like an astronaut or an archeologist when I was young. I wanted to discover new things.â
âAnd you decided that you could discover new things in healthcare?â Maria tried to put two and two together, but it had Y/N shaking her head. âHow did you fall into it then? Thatâs a bit different than the two jobs you mentioned.â
âHow sad do you want this to get?â she muttered, stroking her fingers down the glass of water that was before her. Tommy shifted in his seat and she shook her head. âI donât want to depress anyone about my life.â
âThat doesnât sound good,â Tommy noted, his eyebrow arching in curiosity. Looking to Joel, she took notice of the fact that he was quiet, but still listening to her.
âI became a doctor because when I was young, both of my parents died,â she alerted them, lowering her head so she didnât have to look at any of them when she admitted to them why she became a doctor. âMy parents were in a car accident. It was snowing, it was around Christmas. My dad was driving and my mom was in the passenger seat. I was in the back. There was a truck on the road that had been driving too long. A man that was just trying to get home to his family. He fell asleep at the wheel. His truck was headed right at us. Which had my dad swerving, he hit some ice and the car crashed at the side of the road. It had flipped. The car behind us had also hit that ice after swerving. It went off the road too. And hit my dadâs side of the car. My dad was killed instantly, my mom they thought was fine. We were taken to the hospital where doctors were distracted with the holidays. They thought my mother was okay because she was interacting with people, but she was bleeding on the inside. So for hours we sat and my mom died because the doctors there were lazy and didnât bother to check to see if something was wrong. So? After that, I decided that I was going to be a doctor because I wanted to make sure that if someone was ever in the position that I was in, they would have a doctor that would fight for them. Do everything to save their loved one.â
âJesus,â Joel breathed out in a faint slur. Everyone at the table was quiet with how negative that actually was. It seemed like none of them had any idea what they should say. And she expected that. She just went full trauma dump on them and she realized she should have just been straight forward and to the point instead of going into details.
âWhat happened after that though?â Tommy finally broke the silence, his dark eyes narrowing when he leaned forward at the table. âDid the hospital get in trouble? Did you have any family members to go to? Any siblings?â
âGuys, I can already see the look on your faces,â she half laughed trying to make things less uncomfortable with her shifting her seat beside Joel. Right now, she felt like she was about to depress all of them, especially if she continued to be honest. âI donât want to mortify you with the depressing details of the rest of my life.â
âNo, go ahead. Weâre here to listen,â Maria suggested, outstretching her hand to place it in over Y/Nâs to show support for her. Now it kind of felt like they wanted to hear the rest of the story because they didnât want to make her feel awkward or embarrassed with sharing too much. But she knew that she had. âIf you donât want to talk about it, thatâs okay too. Either way, we are okay with whatever you want to talk about.â
âUhm, well. I had no siblings. It was just me. I had two living family members. My grandmother and my uncle. Who were both on my momâs side. Uhm, my grandmother sued the hospital and the truck company. And she won both cases. Put the money aside for me since I was a child that was left on my own. I wasnât able to touch it until I was eighteen years old,â she explained to them, her voice broken and tremoring as she spoke. Right now she was doing her best to answer Tommyâs question. The last thing she wanted to do was get emotional in front of all of them so she was fighting it incredibly hard. âMy uncle was a famous script writer in New York for films and plays. And my grandmother was living with him in a brownstone in New York City. So I moved there with them. My grandmother died a year or two later. And I was left with my uncle who was not my biggest fan but kept me because my grandmother made him promise. He was really close to my mom and he blamed me for my parents dying. So for the remainder of my teenage years, I was only allowed to be on the second floor and use the kitchen to make my food. I took care of myself. I never spoke to my uncle other than a comment here or there. I got into the school I wanted, left, my uncle died and didnât write a will because he didnât expect to die. So I ended up with the brownstone and his money which I firmly believe would have him turning in his grave because he hated my guts. So thatâs also the reason that I have as much money as I do.â
Looking between them, she could see that all of them were mortified with what she had told them and it was so quiet between them that you could hear a pin drop. Reaching for the beer that Tommy had gotten her, she took a long sip of it and then shrugged her shoulders, âI told you it was depressing. Sorry. I probably should have just told you my parents died and I wanted to be a doctor that helped saved people like my parents. Thatâs my problem. I think I overshare too much.â
âWhy did your uncle blame you?â Tommy was the first to speak up, his head shaking from side to side. They were all lost for words with her story, but Tommy was more emotional than the others. Locked on that one thing she said about her uncle. âYou were just a kid.â
âBecause we were headed home from a family holiday party where I had left my stuffed animal on accident. I was upset and wanted them to go back to get it. They called my family to tell them to keep it aside for meâŚâ she set the bottle down beside the water that she had gotten, doing her best to keep it together. âSo it was my fault. If they wouldnât have turned around to get that stuffed animal, both my parents would still be alive.â
âThatâs bullshit,â Joel grunted, his brow line creasing when she finally looked to him. Mostly she had been looking between Maria and Tommy, but he had to speak up. âYou were just a child. You were innocent in all of that. Being angry with a child for something that wasnât their fault is crazy.â
âHoney, I agree with Joel,â Maria stressed to Y/N, her hand squeezing in over the hand that she had been holding onto the whole time. âThere was no way that was your fault. That was an accident. There was no way of knowing that was going to happen. What your uncle did was wrong. You canât blame yourself for that.â
âI mean, he wasnât wrong. If I would have just had them wait until another day they would still be here,â she reasoned, the lump in her throat growing realizing that none of them were agreeing with her statement. Tommy was shaking his head repeatedly hinting to her that he didnât agree with that either. âI just made do with what I had. I never gave up the brownstone because it was the last place that my parents were at. I guess that doesnât really make sense though because itâs so big and itâs just me living there. Which is kind ofâŚwell, itâs really lonely.â
âAnd thatâs why you ended up here? Because you were lonely?â Tommy wondered, sliding his chair closer to the table showing her that she had his full attention.
âI was just fed up with life. I was recently dumped by my boyfriend not long ago. He was cheating on me with someone more powerful at the hospital and he blamed me. I really donât have many friends other than those I work with because I work all the time. I guess the deciding factor was losing a patient. I promised their child that I would do the best I could with them and they died. No matter how hard I tried to save them,â she was honest, shrugging her shoulders when Joel finished off the beer that he was drinking and forced himself to look away from her. âI was a little fed up with life. I was lonely. And I was looking for something to prove to myself that life was worth living. For a reason to still be here.â
Hearing that made Joel swallow down hard. He knew that kind of talk. It was what he had suspected back at the bar when she was talking. She was questioning whether she still wanted to be here or not. And the very thought had his chest aching. Because he had also been there himself.
âCan I hug you?â Tommy got up from the table moving around it, not really even giving her the option when he wrapped her up in his arms after leaning down. âI am so sorry you went through all of that. But none of it was your fault.â
âTommy,â Joel muttered his brotherâs name considering in that moment that she might have not been comfortable with Tommy hugging her like he was. An overwhelming sense of guilt ate away at him. When she was talking about her life to him in the past, Joel just assumed she was just some snobby rich girl that had been pampered her whole life. That she became a doctor just to look good. And hearing what it really was about made him come to terms with the fact that he was an asshole for shutting her down like he did and treating her like shit. âYou might be suffocating her.â
Grunting, Tommy moved around the table after letting her go and went back to his seat. Maria looked deep in thought, her hand never leaving Y/Nâs, âIs there a Christmas memory that you have that makes you happy? Something with your parents?â
âI mean,â she thought for a long moment, trying to consider something that was positive for them to hear. âWhen I was younger my parents loved going to the Rockefeller tree. During Christmas time whenever I feel overwhelmed or just sad, I like to go there. It usually lifts my spirits. Thatâs my favorite place to go in the city during Christmas time. I like to just sit at the tree and observe things.â
âThat tree does look really cool,â Tommy was quick to bring a positive outlook to things. âI can see why you like it so much. I think I would be drawn to it too.â
Glaring up at Tommy, Joel stayed silent. Right now Y/N felt awkward and he could pick up on it by her body language. The last thing she really probably wanted to be talking about was positive Christmas memories when her family died near Christmas. What she had just confessed to them was a lot to unpack and he now understood why she was kind of the way that she was. He just hoped that eventually they could get her focusing on something else so the tragedies of her past didnât continue to eat away at her all night.

19 please! For whichever ship you feel
19âŚfor luck. Sidestep era. [AO3] for easier reading
âThis is so stupid!â Ortega throws his hands in the air in frustration. âI donât even know why they are insisting on another diagnostic, Iâm fine!â The wires connected to ports along his knuckles and wrist flail wildly before returning to a haphazard heap as his hands fall to the sides of his medical bed with a soft thump. The wires are long enough to allow for at least some range of movement â the thick cables connecting to the ports in his spine, not so much. With the generator in diagnostic mode, his legs rest limply against the sheets, no electricity to transmit to the nerves there. Heâs stuck and he knows it, so what else can he do but complain?Â
You can empathize, all too well. It's why you agreed to visit in the first place. You know how it feels to be helpless, trapped â a lab rat to be poked and prodded until the scientists find the answers they're looking for. You try to suppress the memories but your brain never was very kind to you.
The sticky feeling of electrodes being fastened to your freshly shaved scalp. Youâll rub your head for weeks, still convinced the conductive gel is still there. The pain in your wrists from the restraints. Too tight, you had gotten too good at slipping out of them before. Not enough to activate your pain gate but sitting just inside the boundary of discomfort and pain that makes you grind your teeth. Or you would if not for the bite guard. You shouldnât have bit that last scientist but it felt too good to truly regret it. Shouldnât have gotten his fingers so close to your mouth, even lab rats bite. Â
Ortegaâs disgruntled huff brings you back to the present.
âYou know why.â Despite the outburst you donât look at him, instead you cross your arms against your chest, and squint at the output readings on the diagnostic terminal, trying to make sense of them. Itâs not exactly your area of expertise but youâre starting to recognize some of the patterns. And you suppose the lack of giant flashing warning lights is a good thing. âYou took a beating in that last fight so they want to make sure nothing got rattled.â Youâd bet money his higher ups are more concerned about the machine than the man but you donât point that out, he probably knows.
âHey, we won didnât we?â Ortegaâs voice is full of wounded pride. Probably more than his body, in truth. Footage of the fight had been all over the news and the sight of the Marshal being thrown like a rag doll by a massive power armored villain had been a popular clip. The Rangers media team had done their best but the damage was already done.
âBarely.â You shrug. âItâs your own damn fault for rushing in.â You donât need to coddle him, even if his ego is bruised.
âI knew you had my back.â Stubborn, as usual.Â
âAnd you should be glad I did or youâd be in worse shape than just having to sit still for diagnostics. So quit whining.â There's a bite to your voice but it's more worry than anger.Â
âIâm not-â He starts but sighs heavily. âFine. I hate it when youâre right.â
âI usually am.â You donât bother to suppress the smile tugging at the corner of your mouth.
âSoâŚâ He draws out the pause a little too long and you see him gesture at the monitor out of the corner of your eye. âYouâve been staring at that thing long enough, what's your assessment?â
You sigh through your nose. You donât know exactly how his mods work and that's frustrating but from what you can figure out the majority of his systems are in the green. For all intents and purposes Ortega appears perfectly functional. You give yourself a mental kick for that. Functional. Ortega is a person, not a thing. Not like you.
âFrom what I can tellâŚit doesnât look like there's any lasting damage-â You donât get to finish before he interrupts you.
âGreat! Unhook me.â
âWhat?â You turn to fully face him for the first time since you got here, his bright smile in stark contrast to your incredulous scowl. âAre you out of your mind?â
âProbably.â He chuckles at his own admission. âBut you said it yourself, Iâm good to go.âÂ
âI didnât say that! And you do realize that if I fuck it up I could permanently paralyze you or electrocute myself or-â
âYou won't.â The certainty in his words stops your rant dead in its tracks. So sure, so trusting. What did you ever do to deserve that?
âHow can you be so sure?â You need to know, it doesnât make sense.Â
âPlease, youâre good with tech and electrical stuff, Iâve seen you hotwire more cars than I can count.â He holds up a finger for each new point that he makes. âYou made a police scanner out of an old walkie talkie and who knows what else, that abomination of screens and wires you try to pass off as a computer and, dios mio, you even made a small bomb out of-â
âNone of those are even remotely the same thing!â You groan. âBut fine, it's your ass on the line and then we gotta get out of here, Iâm probably breaking half a dozen laws just being here.â Not that you actually care about breaking the law, you just canât afford to get caught.Â
âYes!â Ortega punches the air in triumph. âI am so ready to get out of here, Iâll owe you one.â
âYou will, now give me your hand.â You hold yours out expectantly.
âAww.â His smile grows wide and teasing.Â
âShut up.â You roll your eyes hard enough to hurt but this time he obeys. You try not to think about how warm his hand is in yours and you can tell heâs looking at you but you need to focus. You hold a breath as you slide the first grounding pin out from above his index finger and are relieved to see no sparks. You lay it gently on the bed before moving to the next. It feels intrusive, intimate, you can't tell if it's better or worse that he's not making any quips as you work. Maybe it's weird for him as well.
When you finish with the right hand, he offers his left unprompted and your own fingers move more quickly, more sure in their task. When the last pin is removed he mumbles something too low for you to hear.
âWhat?â And like an idiot you lean in. If you could read his stupid, static mind you would have known. Even without the safety net of your telepathy your reflexes should have been better. Maybe you were distracted, maybe you let your guard down, but you feel his free hand snake around the back of your neck and pull you down into a kiss. A deep one. You know you should pull away, it's not the first kiss youâve shared but every one feels like one step closer to secrets you donât dare reveal. Would he still kiss you if he knew? Youâre mortified by the small sound that is teased out of you when his tongue brushes against yours but the embarrassment is at least enough to push yourself away.
âWhat was that for?â You say because you have to say something or you're liable to start kissing him again.
âFor luck.â He punctuates his words with a wink.
âI donât need luck.â You quickly duck and scurry to the underside of the medical bed, hoping your blush wasnât as hot as it feels. âI need to concentrate.â
This is the most dangerous part after all, unhooking the ports in his spine poses the greatest risk, especially for him. There's a thin rectangle cutting through the plastic and foam of the backrest to bed where the cables snake through and you can see the hexagonal pattern of his spine mods and just a hit of his skin. You have to start somewhere so you choose the lowest port, closest to the small of his back. You take a deep breath and will your hands steady before slowly turning the head of the connector and sliding the cable out.
Ortegaâs yelp startles you into dropping the cable and hitting your head on the hard plastic underside of the bed.
âWhat!? What's wrong!?â You canât keep the edge of panic out of your voice, your heart is beating too fast, did you hurt him?
âNothing, it's nothing! It's justâŚweird when I can feel my legs again, ugh they're asleep.â You can hear him shift as he tries to stretch newly invigorated muscles.
âYou idiot, you almost gave me a heart attack!â You take a deep breath to return your heart rate to normal.
âWorried about me?â There's a teasing tone in his voice that would have gotten him slugged if you werenât stuck under the bed.Â
âWorried all this electricity has fried your brain more like.â You grumble as you start working your way up the rest of the ports.
âIâm not so sure how well I could argue that.â He says with a self-deprecating laugh. âBut we should hurry, that might have attracted attention.âÂ
âYou think?â You grumble sarcastically but your hands havnât been idle. You breathe a sigh of relief as the last cable, one between his shoulder blades, is disconnected. You hear a small crackle and the smell of ozone. Looks like ortegaâs got his power back.Â
To prove it ortega leaps out of bed in one fluid motion as you scramble out from underneath it. He offers you a hand, which you take as he pulls you into a tight hug.
âI knew you could do it!â His laugh is happy and proud, arms wrapped tightly around you. You spare a moment in his embrace, safe in a way you rarely feel, but the clock is ticking.
âI thought you said we were in a hurryâ You point out as you untangle yourself from him.
âYeah, true, hey can I borrow your hoodie?â He pulls off the backless hospital shirt and gestures with it. âWould probably look suspicious.âÂ
You hate when heâs right.
âFine, just donât stretch it out.â Youâre loath to lose one of your layers but you donât have any other options. Besides, a shirtless Ortega isnât something you can deal with right now. Not after that kiss.
âThanks, Iâll owe you one.â
âMore than one.â Several ones by your count.
âIâll make it up to you.â He says with a wink, and you feel the heat creeping back into your cheeks.Â
âWe need to go.â You push him towards the door as he pulls your hoodie down over his head, several sizes too small for him.Â
He looks back over his shoulder at you. âRace ya.â And he doesnât wait for a reply before bounding down the hallway.
âIdiot.â You mumble, but youâre already chasing after him. Like always.Â

after mack saw her again he took a few days to decide how he could see her again and maybe she had a competitor and he showed up alone and waited till it was over to find her alone and sheâs shocked
au masterlist
also side note: mack and blaire go to college like a yearish early so theyâre 18 at the start of this au and thatâs why blaireâs in/finishing her 3rd semester
so maybe mack was a stalker, whatever, it didnât matter nor count if all of it was public knowledge. he drove to the university, which, was conveniently 10 minutes from his house, a nervous edge in his system. maybe he shouldnât do this.
he hasnât seen blaire in maybe..two years? they stopped talking when he made his decision to go to boston which led to them losing all contact. she probably didnât even want to see him and thatâs why she hasnât reached out since he got to san jose officially.
but macklin really wanted to see her. even if she turned him away and told him to never talk to her again, he had to at least try. they were in the same fucking city by coincidence. there was something someone or something was trying to tell them and macklin wanted to test his luck.
he was glad she was still super involved in figure skating and even more surprised when he read that she got a full ride from santa clara to figure skate. although, it also didnât surprise him because he knew she was good.
the brunette took a few deep breaths as he walked up to the rink. his plan was to stay close to the back so she wouldnât see him and by the end, he would try to catch her alone to talk.
okay, so maybe it sounded weird, but he didnât know how else to do it. he didnât want to sike her out before she went on and waiting until after sounded better than getting into her before she competed.
luckily, the place was somewhat packed, so macklin easily slipped through to the top of the bleachers and hid behind some tall dads. the skaters were warming up on the ice and he immediately spotted blaire. she was already in her costume stretching out her legs.
it didnât even look like she changed much. she still looked like the same blaire mack knew and (still) loved that he met four years ago and that brought a smile to his lips.
there werenât that may competitors, so the meet didnât last long. when blaire went on macklin physically couldnât look away. just like when they were 14, he was captivated by the way she lept and twirled across the ice so effortlessly. he didnât even know how she did it or did those big spins without worrying about messing up. anytime he tried those turns he could only do 1 maybe 2 at the most.
the rink started clearing out after around 2 hours and macklin was really starting to feel the nerves. he hung around in the bleacher area still, waiting for blaire to come back out. he thought several times about just turning around and leaving, but something in him kept him from moving.
finally, the the dirty blonde shuffled out of the locker room with her bag slung over her shoulder. she was looking at her phone, so she didnât see the brunette watching her a few feet away until he little jumped in front of her.
âblaire?â macklin muttered carefully. her gaze shot to his, searching his features before slowly realizing he was actually standing in front of her.
âm-mack..hey..â her own shock settled into her features.
âhi. sorry..iâm sure youâre probably wondering why iâm here and how i even found out youâre here..and i promise i wasnât being weird..i just happened to see you at the game against san jose university the other day and i was like oh my god, is that blaire? and it was you and i just..i wanted to see you..and..â the poor boy began rambling out of nervousness. very typical of him, but blaire actually found it quite cute and glad that he hadnât lost his touch of always talking way more than he had to.
âfirst of all, itâs not weird. it is public knowledge where i go to school. second of all, iâm..flattered you wanted to come see me,â she rocked on her heels, nervous but not weirded out or anything like mack thought she would be.
a tiny grin spread across his lips hearing her say that, âoh! okay..good. i was worried you would think i was some creep..â he slowed down for a second to let his mouth catch up with his brain, âitâs good to see you. you probably know this, but i play for the san jose sharks now.â
âi..did hear you they drafted you 1st overall this summer. congrats, by the way. thatâs super awesome. i figured youâd go pretty fast. i..i meant to.. well..i didnât know if it would be weird if i reached out to you since we.. itâs good to see you too,â now blaire was stumbling over her words. it seemed like both teenagers worried that neither of them wanted to reconnect, but it was obvious they were worried about nothing and did want to reach out.
âno, no i get it. i didnât know if showing up here would be weird. howâve you been though?â macklin tried making conversation as he scratched the back of his head.
âiâve been good. i had a really good first year of college and the second year has been pretty good so far. howâs the sharks?â
âgood! everythingâs been good. itâs a dream come true basically,â the boy chuckled.
blaire happened to catch a glimpse of mackâs bracelet when he raised his arm to scratch his head. she quickly recognized it as the matching ones they used to have together and something tugged in her heart at the idea of him never taking it off. when she looked back up at his face it was like she was transported back in time to when they were 14âso young and naive.
âthatâs really great, iâm really happy to hear that. i..i do have to get going, but we should catch up more. i can..i can give you my number again? so you can text me when youâre free,â blaire offered because she didnât want this to be the last time she saw him.
mack felt the exact same way, âoh, yeah! totally. just put yourself into my phone,â he handed her his phone where she typed in her number.
âtext me! iâm free most nights pretty much. iâd really love to talk to you more,â the girl grinned.
âi will, for sure. it was good seeing you,â they waved as blaire hurried out of the rink.
a new, happy feeling settled itself into mackâs chest and all the anxieties he had leading up to his were quickly gone.

All it takes is reading an incredibly well crafted fic rewrite of a show youve already seen  and suddenly you feel like an old immortal whos seen the cycle of life and death across thousands of lifetimes, you look at the characters with pain in your eyes despite the fact nothing´s gone wrong yet, you know their fate is written in stone, everything that will happen was supposed to happen since the beggining, you can´t change it (and you wouldn´t if you could)

"best friends who kiss?"
character/s: bakugo katsuki
summary: recently, your best friend has been kissing you at random times. you have no idea why because he refuses to talk about it. either way, you're not about to let this to ruin your precious friendship.
genre & trope: fluff, best friends to lovers, angry confessions, reader is terrified of love but bakugo wants them so bad đ, tw kind of ooc bakugo
a/n: i've been watching a lot of pride & prejudice and bridgerton scenes n i'm now obsessed angry confessions 𤊠+ this is heavily inspired by that scene in little women :) ALSO i haven't posted in a year đ so pls be nice ik my writing's rusty in this :'D
the first time bakugou katsuki kissed you, he pretended he never did.
"what... " you brush your fingers against your bottom lip, your whole face hot. "what the hell was that for?"
"what?" bakugo shrugs, feigning innocence as he takes a swig of his soda.
you try and trace back the events that could have led to the kiss.
you said something along the lines of: "i wish i had a boyfriend. i could definitely pull a cute guy off the street."
then you heard him scoff and say: "no man's sane enough to put up with your insufferable ass." ăźor something more insulting than that.
you can't remember what you said in response, and you rack your brain to figure out what prompted him to grab your face and kiss you. it's impossible when all you can think about is the unexpected supple feel of his lips, its faint ghost still lingering on yours.
"that kiss, katsuki! you violated my mouth!"
"dunno what you're talking about. you hit your head or something?"
you blink and second-guess yourself for a second.
"okay, no. you're not gonna gaslight your way out of this." you swat his arm, earning an irked glare from him. "why the hell did you kiss me?"
"you're imagining things, idiot. this stupid game's givin' ya some serious brain damage for sure."
he stands up and swings his bag over his shoulder.
"where are you going? we're not done yetăź!"
and he's out of the door.
was he drunk off his soda? maybe he kissed you to mess with your head. he's not that cruel though, you think. maybe he couldn't think of any other way to shut you upăź that was something he always struggled with after all.
at least the second time bakugo katsuki kissed you, he was kind enough to warn you.
after enduring the most awkward hour-long study session with him, you decide to put an end to your agony by wrapping it up. you start gathering your things when he stops you with a calloused hand on your wrist.
"what?" you turn to him, your cheeks already heating up from his touch.
there are no thoughts you could read behind those vermillion eyes, and all of a sudden, you don't know your best friend very well anymore.
he walks some tentative steps closer to you until the back of your knees hit the table. he cradles your jaw with such delicacy you didn't even know he was capable of. he slips past your awaiting lips and presses his nose on the side of your head, his warm breath kissing your flushed skin.
"punch me in the face and scram if you don't want this, got it?"
you gulp and forget to answer if not for the gentle squeeze on your wrist. "y/n, you got it?"
"s-sure."
when you two kiss, it's different from last time. it's unhurried, curious, and so intoxicating. the kiss speaks: 'i want you. i want you. i want you' but whose thoughts are these?
he groans into your lips as if to urge you to keep up with the sheer hungriness that has consumed him. you try your best to do so as he deepens the kiss with a palm on the back of your head and practically drinks you in. he doesn't pull away until he hears the tiny whine that escapes you.
"shit, sorry." he mutters, avoiding your stunned gaze.
"t's okay."
"did i hurt you?" the quiet lilt of his voice surprises you.
"no, no. i'm okay, but why'd you kiăź"
"bye." he blurts out as he turns to the door and leaves, as if he didn't just invaded your mouth and permanently tainted the years of friendship you two have had. you click your tongue as the heat subsides in your cheeks.
"son of a bitch."
the third time bakugo katsuki kissed you, you let him, and he didn't stop.
you had barely escaped death when you lost your footing while sparring with todoroki. naturally, bakugo yelled the poor guy's ear off and would have murdered him if eraserhead hadn't interfered at the last second.
now, you find yourself heaving in your bed. you don't know whether your hastened pulse is from the adrenaline rush or from the fact that bakugo is all over you right now.
he's planting feather-light kisses all over youăź your cheeks, your nose, your forehead, your eyelids, your hands, and your wrist, as panicked murmurs spill out of him in between kisses. 'you scared the hell out of me. you have no idea, fuck. are you okay? are you really okay? tell me you're okay, y/n.'
"i'm okayăź" you barely manage to gasp before he dips his lips into yours, desperate and frantic. tremulous hands find solace in your hips as he holds you, gentle enough not to mar your injuries but snug enough to assure his restless heart that you are safe.
your head feels hazy. your limbs ache and lie motionless, and though your lips could barely move to reciprocate his kisses as much as you wanted to, bakugo didn't stop. you tried to ask him about it the next morning, but of course, he ignored you and walked away.
you don't know when he stopped kissing you that night. all you know is that there was a line that was crossed, and your friendship was never going to be the same again.
bakugo katsuki is going to kiss you again. your heart thrums incessantly. whether it's dread or anticipationăź you don't know.
you think about the sensation of his lips that's become so familiar to you that you've learned to crave it. it shouldn't be familiar to you, and you sure as hell shouldn't want it. so you do what you think is necessary.
you kick him in the shin.
"motherfăź!" sure enough, he's pissed. "what the hell is wrong with you?!"
"what the hell is wrong with you?!"
"i was going toăź"
"no! you're not gonna kiss me again and walk away and pretend it never happened. you're messing with my head, katsuki! it's not funny!"
"wasn't trying to be funny!" he barks back.
"okay, so what exactly are you trying to do? what is this? i meanăź" you stammer, struggling to find the words. "katsuki, what are we?"
he sighs and shifts his stance, his discomfort apparent. when the silence lingers on for too long, you speak.
"well, whatever it is that you want from me, we're going to stay friends. nothing more, nothing less. that's it." your breath hitches, and you don't know why you feel like crying as you speak. "... so i don't want your stinky mouth anywhere on me again."
silence weighs heavily between you. sometimes you wish you didn't know him too well, then the hurt he veils in his eyes wouldn't be so plain and vivid to you, and you would have walked away by now without an ounce of remorse.
"i like you, y/n." is all he could say when he finally speaks.
you shake your head. "no, you're just confused."
"i'm not confused. i like you."
"katsuki, you've been bitchless all your life, and i'm just the closest thing to a s/o. maybe go take a walk or something."
"i like you." he persists. "i've liked your stupid ass forăź"
"stop saying that. you don't."
"i do, and you like me tooăź"
"what?!" you laugh incredulously.
'who does this dumbass think he is?' is he right? surely, he's not. then what are you so afraid of in the first place? why have you been counting down the days until he kisses you again? why do you yearn for his touch as if it's something you own? why do you feel so infuriated and so tormented when he leaves the room after kissing you?
you do what is necessary again.
"you're delusional!" you yell at his face, a childish shrill that's awfully familiar to your childhood best friend.
"jesus christ." he inhales sharply in frustration. "you're a fucking pussy, y/n."
you clench your jaw and match his glare. anger surges in your chest and bleeds into your voice.
"i'm not the one who chickens out after kissing their best friend! you can't even acknowledge the fact that you kissed me because you'reăź!"
"do you think i want to chicken out? why do you think i run away after kissing you?! if i stayed and confessed all this shit the first time, you would've refused to hear it like the damn coward you are!" he leans close to you, his voice lowering into a ragged snarl that quickens your pulse. "and you're just proving it right now, y/n. you're always going to shut this down and deny your feelings because you're a fucking pussy. you're terrified of relationships, and it's dumbest shit ever. pathetic, really."
you rear back from his words. if anything, you always thought it was katsuki who was afraid of love. now, you can't help but feel small and vulnerable underneath his searing gaze.
"it's not dumb..." you shuffle uncomfortably. "what, i'm supposed to ruin our friendship for a relationship that we're going to break off anyway?"
"we're not going to break it off."
"how do you know that?"
"because i'll be the best goddamn boyfriend in the world!"
"first of all, gross." you scoff. "second of all, it's never gonna work out! you're going to get sick of me in three days max."
"i've known you since we were brats, and i still want you."
"you literally said no man's sane enough to put up with my obnoxious ass."
he smirks. "i said 'insufferable ass'."
"katsuki!" you fight the urge to strangle him and punch that stupid smile off his face.
"wasn't even serious that time." he grimaces and reluctantly continues. "you know damn well you can pull any guy you want, and he'd be the luckiest bastard on earth."
if it were any other day, you'd grin at him and say 'i told you so,' but your lips remain unmoved, and your eyes stay dim. you're afraid you'll never go back to being the same katsuki and y/n again.
"this is pointless, katsuki. i mean, look! we're already fighting." you grouch and tell yourself you don't want this. "i still don't want us to happen so while this friendship is still salvable, let's agree to stay friends, and whatever sappy shit you feel for meăź suck it up."
in one swift motion, he closes the distance between you, his face hovering dangerously over yours.
"suck it up?" he breathes, his face taut in frustration. "restraining myself from you is the hardest shit i've ever had to do. it takes everything in me not to kiss your stupid face!"
he shudders, weakly resting his forehead against yours as if this conversation alone has exhausted him. still, he goes on.
"and everytime i failedăź everytime i kissed those lips, it was... a moment of weakness, but that's the fucking problemăź you're just..." he buries his face into the crook of your neck, a desperate attempt to escape your wide-eyed gaze. "i'm weak for you, y/n. every second. and it drives me fucking insane that you keep running away from me."
he rises to meet your eyes again. the cadence of his voice changes into something weak and desperate, stripped of all the pride and anger he's ever known.
"i love youăź fuck. i love you." he lets the words hang in the air, letting the words hear itself spoken because for once, you're not stopping him. "i love you, so please... let me."
after much thought and another agonizing minute of silence, you lean in to kiss bakugo katsuki.
he kisses back almost instantly and revels in the way you wrap your arms around his neck and bear your weight on him completely. he kisses back ardently, his pent-up desires and years of longing etched in the way he seeks your lips, kiss after kiss after kiss.
when you finally pull away, you're met with a devilish smirk, his begging eyes long gone. you wonder to yourself when you'll see those eyes again.
"took ya long enough." he kisses you again. he raises a brow at the way you're caging him in your arms. "jesus, no one's gonna snatch me from you."
"i'm making sure you don't run away again, dumbass."
"i won't." he says earnestly as he props his forehead against yours. "and you won't either. i'll make sure of that."
you nod your head with a giddy smile as he pecks your lips again.
"so..." you say as you exaggerate a pensive look, a cheeky grin spreading across your face. "we're best friends who occasionally kiss?"
he rolls his eyes. "you're impossible."
"recite that speech again, and i'll consider calling you my boyfriend."
"fuck off!"

so i have a habit of calling be love/babe/darling as a term of enderament (even in friendships) and was wondering how the dukedom guys would react to being called love or darling by the reader for the first time? I grt it probably wasnt as socially acceptable back then but the thought still plaques my mind
Historical accuracy who? We donât know her shhh
Original post
But theyâd love it! At first, you had tried really hard to stop yourself and semi-succeeded by only calling your maids like that. Your parents always hated that habit of yours, a leftover from your nannyâs own habit. They had warned you again and again and again to not let your tongue run, to keep your words polite and demure, only fallen women working in brothels would speak so freely.
And you did keep it under control for a good while; with your interactions few with John, you could remind yourself not to let your tongue loose and call him honey right off the bat when he simply calls you by your name. Itâs harder with Kyle, you almost slip and call him darling, same with Johnny. With Simon itâs easier because on the times he visits, you leave him to his meetings with John and donât bother them. (Or what you thought were business meetings at that time lol)
But once they start getting closer to you, itâs inevitable that the nicknames start slipping out.
âKyle, darling-â you are rushing today, and the words slip out before you realize. You just spare a thought to wonder why heâs frozen solid like that. âWhere is my hairpin? I was so sure we left it on my vanity?â
âThank you, sweetheart,â you say to Johnny when he brings you a platter of fresh deserts while working, not lifting your head from the papers in front of you other than to flash him a quick, grateful smile. You donât notice how long it takes before Johnny stutters out a âwelcome, mâladyâ and leaves you be.
âSimon, honey?â You ask on another occasion, voice too worried to notice what youâd called him. No maids around, and no one would question you calling you husbandâs âclose friendâ by his name in your home. âIs your leg okay? You are leaning on it too much, shall I call the doctor?â His silence is typical to you, but too busy fussing over his leg, you donât see his face. Until you look up, eyes widening at his averted eyes and red-tipped ears. âAre you sick, Simon? You should be resting instead, you know?â
And at last⌠âJohn, love,â you sigh softly, controlling the tremble of your limbs. You look away from the newspaper, though you believe it should just be called a glorified gossip magazing, and close your eyes. Duke Priceâs Duchess remains barren of a child! Is a divorce in their future? âItâs alright, it is what it is-â you try to calm him.
Up until now, from the moment youâd both read the headline, John had been fuming. He wasnât loud in his anger, but it was clear in his ticking jaw and clenched fists. So you expect him to continue in his anger.
ââŚI will deal with it.â John promises, voice low but no longer a rolling thunder. He sits down calmer now, when you finally open your eyes to look at him. Heâs simply gazing at you, and his hands clench in the air before he sets them down on the table. âThey wonât be slandering you any longer, wife. I promise you.â
You wish you could pinpoint what soothed him, but alas. Though you know he will try his best and maybe this news agency wonât make anymore comments like this about you, others will still continue to do so.
âItâs alright.â You repeat, but the words ring hollow and the smile on your face is empty. You push your plate away. âNow, if my husband permits it, I donât believe I can stomach much more.â
âYou never need my permission for such things,â he tells you; a sentiment heâd told you from the very first day. His face softens. âGo rest. Today, I will take care of everything that needs to be done.â
Darling, sweetheart, honey, love⌠they wonder if you know how much those words repeat in their minds.

drew and actress!reader play the vanity fair game show
masterlist | actress!reader masterlist
based off the OBX3 interview + suggested by this ask <3
âI am Madelyn Cline and we are here to test how well we know each other.â Madelyn said into the camera, sitting in the âhot seatâ. The rest of her OBX costars sat opposite her in two rows, shoulder to shoulder and grinning ear to ear. Drew sat in the back, along with Rudy, JD, and Austin, where y/n sat in the front with Madison, Carlacia, and Chase. Drew wore a light purple blazer, a color the boys had made sure to tease him for all day, but he didnât mind. Y/n liked the color on him, so of course he was going to wear it.
â... and weâre the cast of Outer Banks!â Madison and Carlacia said, the rest of the cast joining them and waving at the camera. Madison put her head down with a giggle before composing herself and straightening up once more. Y/n could feel Drewâs fingers combing lightly through her hair, playing with the ends as they waited for the game to begin. She looked back at him, grinning at his long, tousled hair. He smiled back, his fingers continuing to run through her hair as they focused back on the game.
âOk, first question: which astrological sign do I like the most other than mine?â Madelyn said, the end of her marker resting on her lip as she thought. Quickly, the room burst into shouts and guesses, everyone clamoring to win the very first point of the game. Drew stood from his chair, craning his neck to see what Madelynâs card read.
âHey, no cheating!â Y/n pointed at him, a mischievous smirk spreading across his face before he sat back down.
âIâm gonna say Gemini.â Drew said, raising his eyebrows as he glanced into the camera.
âGemini women. Yes.â Madelyn replied, giving Drew the first point. The rest of the cast booed playfully, Drew patting himself on the back as Madelynâs turn continued. Once she asked her last question, it was Drewâs turn in the hot seat.
âY/n has to wait to answer.â JD said, the cast turning to y/n, her mouth falling open.
âThat is definitely not in the rules!â Y/n laughed, rolling her eyes.
âNow they are.â Rudy said with a shrug.
âOk, what is my secret talent? Bonus, where did I learn my talent?â Drew read, looking over the question card at his co-stars until his eyes met y/nâs. She narrowed her eyes, trying to read into what Drew was going to write on the card, after all, he was a man of many talents.
âSleeping.â Carlacia said.
âYou play piano?â Austin guessed.
âSee whatâs happening is you're just giving me a lot of ideas.â Drew said, taking the cap off of his marker as he prepared to finalize his answer.
âOh, write it down, I know it.â Y/n said waving her hand for him to write faster. Once he finished, Drew looked at her to answer.
âJuggling.â She answered, Drew flipping the card around to reveal his answer: juggling/insomnia.
âQuestion two: whatâs my favorite food?â Drew grinned, writing his answer down quickly.
âMama Jodiâs casserole!â The cast said in unison, Drew nodding as he flipped the card around.
âAlmost burned down the apartment complex cooking that one time.â Chase pointed out, causing Drew to gasp.
âThat was actually y/nâs fault.â Drew said, pointing a finger at y/n who scoffed.
âYou were the one that was distracting me!â Y/n shot back, raising her hands in surrender as she thought of the memory. It had been Drewâs birthday and y/n had decided to surprise him with his favorite casserole. However, the two of them had gotten so entranced in an intense game of Mario Kart that she completely forgot about the food in the oven⌠until the smoke alarm went off.
âFine, I will take some blame⌠only a little bit.â Drew cracked a smile as he shuffled onto the next card.
âLast question: who is my celebrity crush?â Drew scowled, biting his lip as he thought.
âY/n y/ln.â Rudy said quickly. A small smirk spread across Drewâs lips as he hurriedly wrote his answer down, the rest of the cast hooting and hollering as y/n covered her face with her hands and a flush spread to her cheeks.
âYeah, thatâs correctâŚâ Drew said bashfully, scratching his jaw. âI donât think she likes me though, if Iâm being honest.â
âDefinitely not.â Madelyn teased, nudging y/nâs arm playfully.
The game continued, each member of the cast having their turn into their hot seat until it was finally y/nâs turn.
âDrew has to wait to answer.â Y/n said, pointing at Drew. His mouth fell open, his competitive nature kicking in as he groaned.
âThe rules, Starkey.â Austin said, shaking his shoulder lightly as y/n picked up her first card.
âWhat is my favorite movie?â Y/n asked, pausing to think of her answer before writing it down.
âLa La Land? The Lego Movie? Moulin Rouge?â Chase guessed, attempting to rattle off as many guesses as possible.
âPitch Perfect!â Madison said with a giggle, to which y/n nodded.
âYes, very big Pitch Perfect fan.â Y/n responded. The cast had many memories of watching (and performing) the movie during quarantine when all of them were confined to their shared apartment complex.
âNext question: what is my go-to karaoke song?â Y/n raised her eyebrows as she wrote her answer down on the card.
âSomething Taylor Swift, yeah?â Madelyn asked.
âSurprisingly, no.â Y/n laughed. Drew and y/n had hosted many karaoke nights in their shared apartment, the entire cast fitting onto their sofa to sing and dance the night away. The two of them had even gone as far as buying a karaoke machine, complete with mics and lights. It was quite a hit.
âOh my god, I know itââ Rudy said, snapping his fingers as he searched for the right answer.
âAlanis Morisette...â Drew whispered, to which y/n scowled at him.
âYou Oughta Know!â Madelyn cheered, stealing Rudyâs answer with a giggle.
âYep, thatâs right⌠thank you, Drew.â Y/n said, quirking an eyebrow at Drew who just smiled back. Y/n shuffled her cards for a moment, drawing out the final question.
âOh boy, last one...â Y/n said dramatically, the cast letting out a string of âooohsâ as y/n cleared her throat.
âWhatâs my on set snack?â Y/n read, quickly scribbling down her answer as her co-stars looked between each other. Drew sat there, a smug grin on his face as he watched their castmates struggle to answer the very simple question.
âI literally had the same snack every single day.â Y/n said, hoping to direct her co-stars in the right direction.
âI never had the same break time as you two, thatâs not fair!â Carlacia said, turning to face Drew who simply shrugged.
âThe answer was pickles.â Y/n said, turning the card around to reveal her answer.
âWhat kind? We need specifics.â JD asked, quirking his brow.
âDill. The ones in the bag.â Drew answered for y/n, who simply nodded.
âAnd with that, we are the cast of Outer BanksâŚâ Y/n led, gesturing to her friends opposite her.
âThanks for watching!â The cast said in unison, waving to the camera.

on ao3's current fundraiser
apparently itâs time for ao3âs biannual donation drive, which means itâs time for me to remind you all, that regardless of how much you love ao3, you shouldnât donate to them because they HAVE TOO MUCH MONEY AND NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH IT.
weâve known for years that ao3 â or, more specifically, the organization for transformative works (@transformativeworks on tumblr), or otw, who runs ao3 and other fandom projects â has a lot of money in their âreservesâ that they had no plans for. but in 2023, @manogirl and i did some research on this, and now, after looking at their more recent financial statements, iâve determined that at the beginning of 2024, they had almost $2.8 MILLION US DOLLARS IN SURPLUS.
our full post last year goes over the principles of how we determined this, even though the numbers are for 2023, but the key points still stand (with the updated numbers):
when we say âsurplusâ, we are not including money that they estimate they need to spend in 2024 for their regular expenses. just the extra that they have no plan for
yes, nonprofits do need to keep some money in reserves for emergencies; typically, nonprofits registered in the u.s. tend to keep enough to cover between six months and two years of their regular operating expenses (meaning, the rough amount they need each month to keep their services going). $2.8 million USD is enough to keep otw running for almost FIVE YEARS WITHOUT NEW DONATIONS
they always overshoot their fundraisers: as iâm posting this, theyâve already raised $104,751.62 USD from their current donation drive, which is over double what theyâve asked for! on day two of the fundraiser!!
no, we are not trying to claim they are embezzling this money or that it is a scam. we believe they are just super incompetent with their money. case in point: that surplus that they have? only earned them $146 USD in interest in 2022, because only about $10,000 USD of their money invested in an interest-bearing account. thatâs the interest they earn off of MILLIONS. at the very least they should be using this extra money to generate new revenue â which would also help with their long-term financial security â but they canât even do that
no, they do not need this money to use if they are sued. you can read more about this in the full post, but essentially, they get most of their legal services donated, and they have not, themselves, said this money is for that purpose
i'm not going to go through my process for determining the updated 2024 numbers because i want to get this post out quickly, and otw actually had not updated the sources i needed to get these numbers until the last couple days (seriously, i've been checking), but you can easily recreate the process that @manogirl and i outlined last year with these documents:
otwâs 2022 audited financial statement, to determine how much money they had at the end of 2022
otwâs 2024 budget spreadsheet, to determine their net income in 2023 and how much they transferred to and from reserves at the beginning of 2024
otwâs 2022 form 990 (also available on propublica), which is a tax document, and shows how much interest they earned in 2022 (search âinterestâ and youâll find it in several places) Â
also, otw has not been accountable to answering questions about their surplus. typically, they hold a public meeting with their finance committee every year in september or october so people can ask questions directly to their treasurer and other committee members; as you can imagine, after doing this deep dive last summer, i was looking forward to getting some answers at that meeting!
but they cancelled that meeting in 2023, and instead asked people to write to the finance committee through their contact us form online. fun fact: i wrote a one-line message to the finance committee on may 11, 2023 through that form, when @manogirl and i were doing this research, asking them for clarification on how much they have in their reserves. i have still not received a response.
so yeah. please spend your money on people who actually need it, like on mutual aid requests! anyone who wants to share their mutual aid requests, please do so in the replies and iâll share them out â i didnât want to link directly to individual requests without permission in case this leads to anyone getting harassed, but i would love to share your requests. to start with, here's operation olive branch and their ongoing spreadsheet sharing palestinian folks who need money to escape genocide.
oh, and if you want to write to otw and tell them why you are not donating, i'm not sure itâll get any results, but it canât hurt lol. here's their contact us form â just donât expect a response! ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ

Yandere! Werewolf Headcanons
I've been stalked by the guilty feeling that my Romanian Werewolf boy got a lot of backstory but not much romance or interaction. So there you have it: some headcanons featuring the ancient Beast, a post-kidnapping sequel.
Content: female reader, obsessive behavior, monster romance, mild NSFW at the end, ridiculously older yandere
You followed the gargantuan stranger back into the city, leaving the bloodbath behind as if it was just a distant dream. Admittedly, youâd expected to be dragged into some mountainous cave or an abandoned mansion, not the cozy - albeit a little dusty - apartment on a main, historical street. On second thought, he did function as a human outside of his monstrous escapades, so it made sense. âIs this your place?â, you sheepishly asked while he wiped the thick layers of blood off him. âOne of them, yesâ, he answered curtly. âItâs centralâ, you remarked, trying to make conversation. âWell, I didnât know about it back then. Itâs been a few decades.â
Your ears perked up at the words. Gazing at his features, he didnât seem necessarily aged to you. The deep creases contouring his face felt more like a sign that heâs lived sorrows beyond most peopleâs comprehension. âHow old are you?â You finally asked as curiosity replaced your initial fear. He abruptly stopped his movements and leaned back, brows furrowed in deep contemplation. âIâm not so sure anymore. I was born in the 80sâ, he concluded. âThatâs not too far back, is it?â You inquired, this time more relaxed. â80 BC, I meant. You do the math.â
He freshened himself up as you counted the millennia on your fingers, frowning in confusion. He chuckled at your intense focus, then quickly looked up into the mirror. When was the last time he smiled like this? The reflection was a foreign sight to him. âWeâll get you everything you need tomorrowâ, he continued, still in a daze. What a strange idea, having someone to speak to after an eternity. And suddenly, it occurred to him just how rusted his communication had gotten: âIâm so sorry, I havenât asked for your name onceâ, he said, embarrassed. âItâs (Y/N). And you are...?" Might as well introduce yourself to your benevolent captor.
The dreaded question. How did they call him back in the day? He hasn't had anyone spell it out for him, nor did he feel the need at any point to say it himself. Why would he? He hadn't anticipated meeting you. With pursed lips, he searched his mind. Eventually, from the depths or memories, from days of yore, it made its way back: "Daos."
Given your first gory encounter (where he quite literally murdered everyone else), you were surprised to find out he's otherwise a calm and polite individual. Well, he's had centuries to mature, you suppose. You've also noticed he has that rather old-fashioned chivalry to him. He's very attentive despite his stoic demeanor, and often follows with acts of service.
"You're insulting me. I can carry this myself with ease", you'll argue. "I never doubted you can. Nonetheless, it is my wish to do it for you."
As the days pass, your reluctance seems to vanish as well. In fact, you've become particularly cheeky, encouraged by his warm, unperturbed behavior. Maybe you haven't gotten the worst deal out there, after all.
"You know, you talk like an old man", you've teased him once. He was visibly taken aback by your statement, and you could discern a faint blush on his face. "Do I? My apologies, I haven't spoken to anyone in a long time. I'm not familiar with modern speech. Have I embarrassed you somehow?"
He spends his free time reading, though he will frequently take you on walks. It's an interesting affair to say the least. You can feel the curious eyes of the passersby and hear their not-so-discreet whispered gossip. You can't truly blame them: Daos is enormous even as a human. He towers above everyone else with his imposing appearance. To match, his voice is deep and coarse as a result of not using it much until recently.
The ancient werewolf is a living history book. If asked, he will narrate to you important events or details you might be curious about regarding his culture. Once, when he'd been in a good mood, he even shared fragments of his life before turning into a creature. He'd been a high-ranked Dacian warrior, spending his days training or fighting. He still remembers the flag he carried with bitter fondness, yet another irony to his fate: a wolf-headed serpent. It was meant to showcase their way of life; barbarians with no fear of death. They'd greeted the Roman Empire with nothing but a sword and a shield, no shred of doubt.
He might've been betrayed by his people, but the pride remains. The pride of a soldier who's never known defeat. You learned quickly that his beastly form doesn't count as a significant change by any means, save for appearances. The man has brute strength even as a human. You'd once strayed from his view, and a stranger approached with a daring whistle, gawking you up and down. Before you could react, Daos clawed him by the throat. You heard the twist of the skin and the creak of the bones giving in to the immense pressure of his large hand.
"It's the second time I have exposed you to such unpleasant sights", he said, discarding the body as if it was any other garbage. "Forgive me, but I will not have you disrespected like this."
He is very much aware he's taken you away from the world out of his own selfish desire. The fact that you accepted it is more than he could ever ask for. That's what he keeps telling himself, even as his eyes wander to your lips whenever you speak. Or as his hand lingers a moment too long against the curve of your back. Or as he hungrily takes in your scent whenever you're nearby.
He might be unhealthily possessive of you, but Daos will never do anything against your will. No matter how obvious his urges are. In fact, no amount of flirting or teasing will shake his resolve. You will have to be very direct with your approval.
Once the reality settles in, he'll become extremely affectionate, bordering on obsessive. To think he could have you in every way possible. Oh, he's waited thousands of years for you. All the suffering, the loneliness, the anger, they're stripped of any meaning now that he has you.
The city strolls at an awkward distance have since become a habitual excuse to hold your hand and show you off to the mortals. The quiet evenings of passing time with a book now include your merely noticeable weight cuddled into his lap. You didn't expect him to be this adoring. Being touch-starved for millennia counts as one reason, naturally, but there's more to it, so much more. And it all leads back to you.
He is a little taken aback when you ask him to do the deed in his werewolf form. "Don't be foolish. I can't overcome my instincts as well when I'm a creature. I could harm you", he'll lecture you. "Besides, you can barely take it as it currently is", he'll add, smirking at your baffled expression. It seems he's picked up on your cheekiness.
After a lot of pleading and waiting for the right moment - when he's ravaging you in a daze - he finally agrees. True to his word, his tune instantly changes. The tender hold turns into a desperate grasp sinking into your skin, and the thrusts become irregular, almost frantic. His drool cools your burning cheeks as you hold onto the coarse fur, feverish and overwhelmed.
His golden eyes rest on the small human squirming underneath him, and suddenly, he can't help but notice: you have the perfect birthing hips.

I read a very interesting article recently.
Hiroo Onoda is a famous name among WWII history buff circles. He was the soldier who disappeared into the Philippine jungle at the end of the war with three other soldiers, and ended up being the last to surrender after 29 years fighting a "guerilla war" until he surrendered in 1974. For at least twenty years he fought with one other, Kinshichi Kozuka; who was killed by police in 1972.
The article was about one woman named Mia Stewart, a Filipino-Australian, who's trying to get the funding to finish a documentary she's been working on for about 20 years.
The documentary she's making is trying to shed a little more light than the fascinating "lone samurai" legend that has been built up around Onoda. It very pointedly asks one thing -- what is this "guerilla war" he was fighting for 29 years? Who were his opponents? Who was he fighting?
Onoda (and Kozuka until his death) were killing, sometimes in very gruesome ways, almost exclusively Filipino civilians. Innocent people who were just living their normal lives -- who couldn't fight back. One of their victims was Mia Stewart's great uncle, when she was barely two years old.
The article essentially asks, "war hero or serial killer?"
Those civilians he stalked and killed or stole from for nearly thirty years weren't ever asked their opinion before the Filipino president gave a blanket pardon, Onoda was welcomed home a hero, and he gained worldwide fame. Their side of the story entirely forgotten as some nebulous force he was fighting "guerilla warfare" against.
It was genuinely kind of enlightening because even I have kind of looked at the Onoda story as a, "wow that's crazy" and never really gave it more thought of "who exactly was he fighting?" I figured he was shooting at cops, if anything. But no, it was nothing as simple as that.
The documentary is not out yet (she doesn't have the funding to finish it, the article was essentially one long ad to go "and if you can donate please do so") but there is a nine minute extended trailer from two years ago
On some level I think if I'd just given it any ounce of thought I'd have gone, "who was he fighting actually?" But instead I just assumed he spent nearly thirty years fighting cops⌠not doing what the IJA did best and mutilating helpless civilians. But I bought the popular narrative entirely and didn't give an ounce of a think at the question of who was he fighting in this 'guerilla war.'
"Actively fighting a war⌠against who?" is a question that just straight up never came to my mind.

How to shift: EMBODY YOUR DR SELF!!
Fuck the five senses
Most of us always focus on the process of shifting, the symptoms, the 5 senses, overanalyze our process and being very critical of ourselves, we try to analyze why we don't shift, giving ourselves excuses and explanations Saying "I didn't do enough", "I should have tried harder" I wish you guys to STOP THAT.
Actually, none of the above matters. The reason you think the methods, meditation, etc matters it's because of your assumptions and beliefs because you didn't get there and you think "you're doing something wrong" and you ARE NOT, leave that mentality behind and stop seeing shifting as a task or obligation, as something with steps that must be followed to the letter.
Stop and get back to BASICS, When you are trying to get to your DR, stop thinking and focus on "I have to get there" just think that YOU ARE THERE, think ABOUT YOU, about your dr self, who are you in your dr? This is why it is very important that you like your dr's self, and not just an "improved 2.0 me, now with ultra-powered engines" because it just makes you feel uncomfortable, and you need to feel comfortable with being your dr self, You must like being yourself, you must know yourself, dive into your brain and connect with your dr self and with who you're there.
And when you connect with who you are there, forget about everything else, forget how many breaths you have to take, what number you are on, or if you visualize enough, just connect with you, with who you are. By connecting with your 5 senses and with the environment, you are not traveling, I mean this is okay but when you're trying to shift, the shift it's in the mindset, not in the around, it happens in your subconscious, it happens when you become that person, you are becoming your dr self not your environment, WHO ARE YOU? Connect with that person. Start with "Who am I?" "What am I doing here?" "What is my name?" Until it becomes a natural flow, connect with your thoughts until it becomes a natural flow. You did it, you've shifted, when you are fully connected to your dr self and you no longer need to think like your dr self thinks, you are there, and nothing else matters, fuck if "your environment tells you otherwise", It doesn't matter what you see, hear or feel anymore, you are in your dr and you are your dr's person. You know that you're there because of your mindset, enjoy that because that is shifting, that is change, YOU HAVE TO CHANGE, this is manifesting, and manifestation happens instantly when you change your mindset.
The process of shifting doesn't have to take a long time, it doesn't have to take years, the only reason it takes you so long is because you see it as homework. Get out of that mindset, connect with yourself, change your mindset, delate everything else, stop making everything so difficult. "I didn't shift last night because-" STOP, there's no reason you haven't shifted. We shift in every decision we make, when you go to bed YOU HAVE ALREADY SHIFTED, but you are not going to accept it and you MUST accept it.
Why you should embody your dr self (good for lazy shifters):
You should try to connect with your dr self instead of using the five senses or connecting with your dr it's because:
1. It's a bit backwards to try to connect with your surroundings instead of yourself. As I said before, you are not shifting to be your environment, you are shifting to be you, to be your dr self. (Although I'm not saying that using all 5 senses is a bad thing, but you shouldn't focus only on that)
2. Embodying your dr self bypasses all the extra shit about you just lying in your bed trying to shift. The moment you connect with your dr's self, you have already shifted, because if you were not in your dr you would not be able to access the thoughts of your dr self. And when you are focused on this, you are no longer focused on the symptoms and that is the best thing that can happen to you because YOU SHOULDN'T FOCUS ON THE SYMPTOMS because it's not a physical process, physical change comes after the change of mentality. Connecting with your dr self's thoughts is much better than memorizing affirmations and meditating, it's more natural, you enjoy it more and it's less tiring.
3. In the case that your physical environment does not end up changing, you end up connecting with your dr self (THAT IS SO IMPORTANT) you alredy had the mindset shift. And many people when they start doing all this, they start having dreams about themselves being their dr self, and having experiences in their dreams being their dr self, and that is SO GOOD (it's literally happening to me) Taking this post into account, I assure you that YOU WILL SEE CHANGES YES OR YES this is a connecting point.
⢠Please make this post viral, shifters need to know this đđ
This was a summary of @shaysplanett's 7 and 10 minute videos. We love her (she was really helpful to me)

I donât care about Sooha
pairing: heeseung x fem!reader. Decelis Academy AU.
synopsis: y/n has always been best friends with the seven boys Heeseung, Jake, Jay, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon and Ni-ki. But ever since the new girl, Sooha, came to Decelis Academy, everything has been only about her. Heeseung, who wasnât only y/nâs bestfriend but also the boy she liked, was the first of all of them to give all his attention to Sooha, making y/n feel a bit (a lot) jealous.
warnings: not proofread!, jealousy, cursing, fluff, smut, smut with plot, y/n being a bit hater on Sooha, kissing, boob play, nipple play, pet names (baby, love, princess, good girl), dirty talking, praises, clit play, pussy eating, fingering, cum eating, unprotected sex (donât do this), use of the word cum-slut.
want to keep reading? click here âŹď¸
âSooha, come sit here! Right next to me!â Sunoo exclaimed with excitement pointing at my seat.
âBut itâs takenâ she said.
âYeah, thatâs my seaââ i tried to say but Sunoo interrupted me. âOh, thatâs fine!â he answered.
âSunghoon can sit with Y/N.â
âFineâŚâ i groaned and took my bag and notebooks next to Sunghoonâs table. âI canât believe this.â i murmured to myself.
âDonât worry, i feel the same way about her.â Sunghoon whispered into my ear with a serious face. âThere is something that isnât right about her, sheâs veryâŚâ
âNosey? Annoying?â
âYeah, its a weird thing y/n. But donât worry, iâm always on your side.â he smiled.
The chemistry class went pretty smoothly, Sunghoon and I didnât payed that much attention to it, instead we were laughing and making jokes about random things. When the bell rang, all of us were packing peacefully our things until Sunoo talked to Sooha again.
âSooha, what are you up to now that clases are over?â the blond boy asked.
âHuh? Oh, iâm gonna clean my room today.â Sooha answered. âI got some of it done last night⌠but thereâs still a long way to go. Thereâs a bunch of things to throw out too.â
âThen iâll help!â Sunoo smiled.
When i got out of the class I saw at the end of the hall Heeseung and Sooha talking. I couldnât help but feel a little jealous about her, she has been so close to Hee lately. Before Sooha came to Decelis, he was the closest to me comparing to the others, we did everything together; lunch, siting together in class, and having deep long conversations at midnight, but itâs seems that all those things are over for now.
âOh yeah! I sit next to Sunoo too, Y/N gave me her seat.â i hear Sooha saying to Heeseung while i was getting closer with all the other boys.
âShe did?â Heeseung replied with surprise in his voice.
âY/N didnât give it to her, she stole it.â Sunghoon defended crossing his arms.
âOf course Y/N have it to her, sheâs a good friend. You should do it too, Sunghoon. Mind your manners.â Jay talked.
âSoohaâs new in here.â Jungwon spoked. âWe should be nice to her.â
âYeah! Or you can just sit at the back with Y/N, you seemed pretty closed to her today, huh.â the blond boy said with a playful smirk.
âWhat?â Heeseung asked raising an eyebrow, getting in the conversation. âYeah, the laughed and joked all~ the classâ
âYou-!!â
âWell, I also told them i was cleaning my room today⌠and the all offered to help.â Sooha said trying to relive the tension between all of us.
âDid we?â I said, Sunghoon laughed.
âWhat?â the girls said when Heeseung got closer to her. âYeah⌠of courseâŚâ
Did Heeseung just talk to Sooha through his telepathy? No way, we agreed not to show our powers to her.
âLetâs go then!â
We all walked into Soohaâs room, there was a lot of boxes and stuff spread on the ground. Sunoo was wearing a pink apron while mopping the floor and Jay and Jungwon were taking the boxes from the floor. This room used to be were all of us hanged out sometimes, so there was boxes with weights, books, and other of our stuff on the ground.
âUhm, guys⌠I can do it myself.â Sooha said.
âNo Sooha, just stand there and watch.â Jay replied.
âYeah, itâll only take us a second.â Jungwon said.
âCleaning is my favorite thing in the world!â
âYou liarâŚâ
âS-still, itâll help too.â the girl said trying to take one of the weight boxes.
âSoohaâŚâ i started. âI donât think you canâ Wow.â
âThereâs 1000kg of dumbbells in it!â they exclaimed.
âHow is that even possible?â i asked.
âOh, noâŚâ
âHere, let me take that for you.â Heeseung offered.
âHuh?â Heeseung was doing it again. âWhat? No! Of course not, i would neverâŚâ
âHeeseung did you just talked to her through telepathy?â Sunghoon asked shooked. âYeah, since earlier today.â
âHeeseung!â
âHeeseung, weâreâŚâ
âSooha, youâll keep my ability as a secret, right?â Heeseung said leaning closer to her.
Why did he always had to be so close to her?
âYeah, of course! I wonât tell anyone.â
âThen letâs keep our secret between us.â
âOkay.â she nodded.
âI think your powers are really cool.â
âYours too Hee.â Sooha answered with a little smile.
âHell no, i canât stand this.â i said in a low tone taking my bag from Soohaâs bed.
âWhat? Where are you going?â Sunghoon asked, Heeseung looked at me.
âIâm gonna be with Jake and Ni-ki on the field, they must be playing football. Iâll be there if you guys need me.â i murmured and left.
âWhatâs with her lately?â i heard Heeseung asked.
âI donât know.â was the last thing i heard from Jungwon say before closing completely the door.
âWhat should i do guys?â i said hiding my head between my knees.
After successfully finding Ni-ki and Jake on the field, i told them everything that was happening with Heeseung and how i felt about Sooha.
âWell, itâs not a surprise you like Heeseung Hyung.â Ni-ki said.
âYeah, all of us know that you both always had a thing for each other.â Jake added. âBoth of us?â
âOf course that both you!â Ni-ki exclaimed. âYouâre always like, eating him with your eyes.â
âDonât say that! Itâs embarrassingâŚâ
âI remember one time he told us that he read your mind in class, it was an accident, he said. Heeseung hyung was going to tell you something via telepathy, but he accidentally ended hearing your thoughts about how handsome he looked that day.â Jake told.
âShut. up.â i gasped.
âBut be chill about it, Y/NâŚâ the youngest of the boys said palming my back. âHe likes you too, a lot more than you think.â
âThen why he is always so fucking close to her, talking to her, being with her, laughing with her!?â i said angrily.
âThere is something weird about that girl, we can all feel it, heâs just trying to find out what is it.â jake explained.
âHuh? But sheâs so wââ
âWhat are you guys talking about?â Heeseung said appearing behind our backs, interrupting my sentence.
âNothing of your businessâŚâ i replied.
âHyung! Good youâre here, Jake hyung and I are were just about to go, but we didnât want to leave y/n alone.â Ni-ki said getting on his feet and doing a gesture for Jake to follow him.
âWhatââ
âYeah, now that youâre here, you can stay with her. Bye hyung, see ya tomorrow y/n.â Jake said.
âBye y/n!â
âSee you around RikiâŚâ
An awkward silence took all the place, I was still sat hugging my knees while Heeseung was standing behind me.
âDo you, maybe, want to go to my room? We can talk or do something if you like.â he spoke after a few seconds.
âArenât you going to be with your new friend Sooha?â i replied sarcastically.
âI think sheâs on her room, i left her there. Itâs been a long time since we talked, you know⌠you and me.â
âThatâs because you are always with that girl, everywhere she goes, you have to go too.â
âThatâs why I want to be with you now. Câmon, letâs go. Iâm not asking if you want to or not.â Heeseung said showing me his hand.
âFine.â i sighed and took his hand.
We walked through the Academy until we reached to the door of his dorm, when he opened it, his roommate, Sunoo, wasnât there.
âWhereâs Sunoo?â i asked walking in the bedâs direction.
âI think he went out with Jungwon and Jay, they said there were hungry.â Heeseung replied.
âOh, how I missed your bed!â i exclaimed while jumping on his comfortable bed, it was so soft and cozy.
Every single time after we hanged out at night we used to come to his dorm and lay on the bed to watch movies, i remember how fast my heart beats were when i felt the proximity of our bodies and his scent all over the bed.
âI missed you.â Heeseung said lying by my side.
âOh donât say that.â i pinched him softly on the arm.
âWhy not?â he smiled. âBecause you know how i feel about you, and those things make my heart go crazyâŚâ
âI donât know what are you talking about.â he shakes his head.
âDonât play dumb on me, Heeseung. Jake and Ni-ki told me about that time you read my kind in class, about how you heard how handsome i thought you looked that day.â
âThose assholes, i told them to keep their mouths shut!â i laughed. âI donât care about Sooha, Y/N. Not in the way you think i do.â
âYour actions says other words Heeseung.â i looked at the ceiling. âItâs all right tho, i donât want to loose our friendshipâŚâ
âOkay, now you stop playing dumb on me.â he laughed. âI like you, Y/N. I donât like Sooha, iâm not interested in her. I like you and only you.â Heeseung confessed.
âAre you sure? I mean, like⌠like like?â
âYes, Y/N. Like like.â
âWhy didnât you told me earlier?â
âI think i was a little scared⌠i knew you liked me but, i wasnât completely sure and also didnât want to lose our friendship. I couldnât lose you, how could i live without you?â
âOh stop saying those clingy things!â i said hiding my red face on his pillows. âIâm flustered.â
âY/Nâ he called. âHmm?â i said with my head still between the pillows.
âLook at me, please.â i turned at him, looking directly at his precious eyes. âYouâre the only girl I have eyes for, youâre the only girl i can look at. Why would i be looking at some other woman when i have the girl of my dreams right in front of me?â
And with that, I instantly crashed my lips against his. As our lips finally met, it was as if time stood still; the kiss was tender yet electric, igniting a spark that both of us had expected for a really long time. The kiss was soft and tentative at first, a gentle exploration that spoke of shared secrets and unvoiced emotions. Heeseungâs lips brushed against mines, warm and inviting, as if testing the waters of a new adventure. A rush of warmth flooded through the kiss, igniting a spark that quickly ignited into something deeper. He got on top of me, the kiss growing more passionate. His hands cradled into my face, his thumb lightly tracing my cheek, grounding them in the moment.
âDo you want to⌠keep going?â Heeseung asked, trying to catch his breath.
âIf you stop now, iâll kill you.â he giggled. âThatâs want i wanted to hear.â
The kiss was deeper this time, one of his hands went from my cheek to the buttons of my shirt, untangle them. He took all of my shirt off, revealing my black lace bra that was covering the upper part of my body.
âFuckâŚâ he sighted.ďżź
He kissed me again, now trailing his open mouth kisses from my mouth, then my neck, until reaching to my chest. His hand moved to my back, unbuttoning my bra and throwing it to somewhere at the room.
âSuch pretty tits, baby.â
I let out a loud moan when i felt his mouth in one of my nipples, sucking it hardly while his other hand was pinching my other boob. His mouth felt like heaven, the wetness between my legs starting to grow wider by the sensation of his cock hardening on my core. My hips started to moved back and forth, searching for some kind of relief.
âHee âfuckâ pleaseâŚâ i begged.
âAww, is my pretty princess needy, huh? You want to feel me all inside you, donât you? Want me to break you apartâŚâ he spoke with a smirk, his lips red and swollen from sucking my tits.
âFuck yes.â
âHold it a little longer baby, let me take care of youâŚâ
He went down on my stomach, kissing every single part visible of my body. He took off my uniform skirt and kissed my iner-thighs, placing his hands over my knees to keep them open. My hips started bucking into him, trying to feel some kind of friction. He kissed my core through my panties, an embarrassing wet patch showing off. Heeseung moved the to the side, reveling my wet core begging for attention.
âSuch a pretty pussy, such a pretty girl⌠Iâm going to eat you out, and going to lick all of your pussy until youâre dripping into my face, baby.â
He started sucking my clit, his tongue lapping at it while he sucked here and there my pussy lips, making slurping noises as he devoured my cunt. My hand went directly to his hair, pushing him deeper to chase that feeling iâve been searching for. He groaned, causing a vibration in my pussy and sending shivers down my spine.
âFuck i love your pussy, i could fucking eat it all day, such a sensitive clit and wet pussy. Youâre such a good girl.â
âShit!â i gasped. âHeeseung ple âahâ please fuck me alredy.â
His index finger entered my tight hole, causing me to scream his name. His finger felt so long and deep inside me, i could imagine how good his dick was going to feel.
He added another finger, moving them in and out in hard pace while sucking my clit meanwhile.
âYouâre so good, Hee. Shit, shit. Youâre fingers feel so good.â i cried.
âIf my fingers feel like this, imagine how good my dick is going to stretch you out. If you canât take my finger, how are you going to take my cock? Huh, Y/N? Tell meâŚâ
âIâŚIââ i sweared i could see stars in that moment. âIâm gonna cum.â
âYou cuming baby? Câmon, cum all over my fingers. Let me taste all of you, baby.â
His fingers went faster, hitting that sweet spot deep inside me, his tongue sucking my clit. The knot in my stomach felt tighter and tighter until it finally explored.
âFuck!â i gasped grabbing the sheets under me. âOh my good, Hee.â
âThatâs it baby⌠Thatâs it, so sweet. Youâre such a good, good girl.â Heeseung said sucking clean all my pussy.
He came up to my face, kissing me with hunger and allowing me to taste myself.
âYou think youâre ready for my cock now?â i nodded. âYeah?â
âPlease HeeâŚâ
âShit, anything for you baby.â
He took his pants and boxers down, revealing his long, thick cock leaking with pre-cum.
âThereâThereâs no war thatâs gonna fit inside me.â i lowered my voice.
âThatâs why stretch you out before, love.â
He thrusted his cock in his hand a few times until he aligned into my entrance. With a deep groan, Heeseung thrust himself into my tight hole, making me moan. His cock sliding deep into my wet, tight pussy.
âSo, so tight baby.â he moaned. âThis pussy was made just for me.â
âYes, Hee. Itâs feels so good.â i gasped.
His hand reached to rub my clit, making me moan even louder as he fucked my pussy senseless. He groans softly as he feels the tightness of my pussy around his cock. He begins to move faster, his hips slapping against my ass as he pounds into my cunt relentlessly.
âHee, baby, iâm gonna cum againâŚâ
ââFuckâ thatâs it baby, cum with me okay? Letâs âshitâ letâs cum together.
You couldnât last any longer, not with the way he was rubbing your clit and not with the way he was burying his dick inside you. And with a loud moan, he buried his cock deep inside, his hot cum flooding my pussy. His hands on my hips holding me in place, making sure every last drop is deposited inside, marking me as his own cum-slut. His orgasm seems to go on forever, leaving me with a dripping, cum-filled mess.
âThat was⌠wow.â Heeseung said collapsing next to me on the bed, i smiled.
âYeah⌠wow.â
âJust for the record, i donât want this to be just some one-time-hookup. I really have deep feelings for you, Y/N.â he said, wrapping his arms around my body in a tight hug.
âI want to be with you, Hee. I really like you too and i want to to this with you forever, youâre the only one.â
âMy pretty girl.â he said giving me a kiss on the head. âYouâre the best, y/n.â
âI know.â he laughed. âLove you, Hee.â
âLove you too, princess.â

i am living for some angst đ
especially some satoru angst
Hold me. Console me.
Tags: Satoru x fem!Reader, angst, hurt/comfort, depictions of poor mental health, depiction of a panic attack, Satoruâs a little bit of an asshole here.
An: Same⌠same. Before you read this and blame me for how fucked this story is, know that one of my moots (cough. cough. @theuniversesnepobaby cough.) was sending me sad angsty edits last night. this is partially her fault too.
Satoru was normally a very doting and attentive boyfriend. Heâs the type to beg to be in your presence. Heâd kill to feel your touch against his skin. âCasualâ isnât a word in his dictionary. When he loves, he loves loudly.
So when he got quiet with his love, your body started to fill with a sense of dread. Cold and bitter feelings crawled their way between you two. No longer did you two laugh until you were out of breath and red in the face. No longer did he surprise you with gifts or try to scare you when youâre unaware of his presence.
His strong arms hadnât wrapped around you in so long. The ruthless chill of being utterly alone plagued you, while Satoru seemed fine. He was even taking on extra hours at his job. So many nights he didnât come back until nearly midnight.
How could he not see whatâs happening? How could he not notice how much youâre drowning?
âIâm going out.â His words are flat with no care put into them. Heâs telling you because he feels as if itâs obligatory â not because he doesnât want you to worry.
âWhere are you going?â So many times have you tried to reach out. It was as if you two were passing back and forth a candle of your relationship. You had ignited the flame and passed it to him so many times, but each time, he snuffs it out without a second thought â leaving you in the dark. Maybe one more time, you metaphorically light the candle in hopes to kinder your relationshipâŚ
âOut.â Flame snuffed.
âOh.â Heâs done it so many times, but it hurts just as bad each and every time. Being single wouldnât hurt this bad. At least you wouldnât be getting rejected by your own boyfriend on a daily basis.
âSee ya.â He doesnât even give you a second glance as he grabs his coat and saunters out the door. Another night spent alone. Another night filled with a barely eaten tv dinner and a shitty reality tv show droning on in the back while you doomscroll on your phone.
You two use to watch these reality tv shows together and laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. Satoru would hold you so close to his body, and heâd whine anytime you tried to adjust. When was the last time that happened? You never suspected the end of affectionate gestures would come while you two were still in a relationship.
You check Getoâs story on instagram. Sometimes, youâd catch small glimpses of Satoru in the back. Sometimes they were at a cafe or an arcade together. Tonight, it seemed as though Suguru was at very packed party scene.
You hold your breath in your lungs as you rewatch the story again and again â searching for a white head of hair. Your boyfriend makes it too easy for you to stalk him. Though, it feels like a fitting punishment for the turmoil heâs put you through.
No Satoru in sight. You sigh quietly before you check Shokoâs story. It was less likely that Satoru would be captured there, but he has made his appearances in the past. It seemed like tonight Shoko wasnât present at whatever rager Suguru was at. She posted a picture of her beautifully written notes. She must be studying.
Nanami never posts on his story, so you donât even bother going to check his barren profile. Haibara never features Satoru in his stories, so you skip his as well. This leaves you with one last option.
Your hand is a little shaky as you click on Utahimeâs story. You donât know when it started, but your cheeks and ears were wet with tears already. Your body had some sort of sick sixth sense for knowing when something was wrong, and something was terribly wrong.
You had always had your little insecurities about Utahime ever since Satoru indulged that he had a small crush on her back in high school. Of course, these were just fleeting thoughts. Up until recently, you knew with full confidence that you had Satoruâs heart. He wouldnât stray from you. ďżź
You didnât have that same confidence anymore. Satoru had withdrawn, and it seemed as if he took his heart with him.
You hate being right. You wish you were wrong sometimes. On Utahimeâs story, sheâs seemingly at the same party that Suguruâs at. Her story is littered with pictures of her with other girls that you donât recognize, videos of the loud music and people dancing in a crowd, and thereâs just one last video on her story that makes your heart sink to your stomach.
Your boyfriendâs pretty blue eyes illuminated by the flash from her back camera. He smiled and laughed as Utahime filmed him. His face was littered with wine red lipstick kiss marks. Utahime had a grab on your boyfriendâs collar, obviously trying to hold his drunk self still while she filmed his crime.
It felt like a punch straight to your gut. You couldnât even think straight, but you knew you needed to keep this evidence in case she deletes it. Your fingers shakily screenshot the story, logging the picture of Satoru covered in someone elseâs affections.
He was out there feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness, receiving kisses from another, dancing to his heartâs content, and enjoying his life while you were sat at home weeping over the loss of your boyfriend.
The tv dinner, now cold and stale, was thrown into the garbage, and whatever little bit you had eaten came up soon after.
The picture was seared into your memory. You didnât have to look at it to know every minor detail. The way his white hair was messy. His glasses were pulled down ever so slightly to reveal his devastatingly beautiful eyes. His coat hung on his shoulders while his muscular neck peaked out from his shirt.
Every time you closed your eyes, you thought about how many kiss marks he had on his face. How many times had he allowed himself to cheat on you? Was this the first time? Had it gone farther than this? Was it Utahime or some other girl?
You cried yourself to sleep, knowing that Satoru wouldnât even come home to try to console you.
The next morning, you were disappointed as soon as you woke up. You wished sleep wouldâve taken your body and whisked it away far, far from here. Instead, youâre still in your bed, sleeping on a pillow that was stained from your mascara.
If you could, youâd rot in bed all day and try to forget the godforsaken video you saw last night, but you had to make a trip to the restroom.
Forcing your weak body out of bed, you let out a small pained moan. You havenât eaten a proper meal in so long, and you threw up whatever you did eat yesterday. Your appetite was completely diminished. Satoru use to say that food tasted better when it was shared. He always shared his meals with you, unbeknownst to him, helping you maintain a good schedule for eating.
Your apartment was too bright when you stepped out of the bathroom, and it smelled too much of food. The sizzling on the stove finally caught your drowsy attention.
The man of the hour, Satoru, was at your stove, shirtless and cooking something. Sleeping pants casually hung around his hips, and the dimples at the bottom of his back were so graciously being shown off. Did someone else know about those two little dimples? Even though back was facing you, you could already picture his face, littered with those stupid kiss marks.
Making a b-line for the bathroom, Satoru doesnât even get the chance to greet you. Your hands were cold and clammy as your body uncontrollably heaved over the toilet. You had nothing left to give, but Satoru was taking everything from you.
Hot tears burned your cheeks as they slipped down your face. You didnât want to do this. You wished you wouldâve never saw that fucking video last night. You shouldâve given yourself plausible deniability, but now, you had to face the music.
You slowly returned back to the kitchen after trying your best to clean yourself up. Your eyes focused on Satoru. He was finishing up cooking bacon when his eyes finally met yours and drove daggers through your heart.
âGood morning, sweetness. Something wrong?â He asks with so much care in his tone. You fantasize about hitting him â just once. How dare he suddenly care when you have to check out?
You donât even know what to say to him. Like, yes, something is clearly fucking wrong, Satoru. Iâm dating an unfaithful jerk.
âWhat are you doing here?â You ask bluntly, wiping your face of the remnants of tears and makeup that had stained your skin. He shouldnât be allowed to see how badly he hurt you.
âI⌠live here?â He responds in a questioning tone, furrowing his white eyebrows as he studies your face. âAre you okay?â If only he had asked that question weeks ago, then maybe you two wouldnât be in this mess today.
âNo, and you donât live here anymore.â You snap, causing him to slightly flinch back â not out of fear but out of surprise. Heâs never seen you like this before.
âWhat do you mean, sweetness? I-â
âCut the shit, Gojo. Donât act stupid with me. Itâs unbecoming.â You interrupt him completely, not wanting to hear him try to act innocent when you have all the proof you need on your phone.
âWoah. I donât know whatâs wrong, but I donât really appreciate the insult and the use of my government name. I genuinely have no idea of what youâre talking about.â His voice is firm, laced with sternness, so you can see that heâs not playing around with you.
You take a deep breath until your lungs burn. You want to scream at him, chase him out of the house, and light his shit on fire. Instead, you silently go to retrieve your phone. Pulling up the picture of him with kiss marks all over his face, you shove the screen in his direction.
Gojo takes a few seconds to take in the photo, and he lets his shoulders drop. âThis is what youâre mad over, sweetness?â He asks in a much more calm tone, looking up at you with almost puppy dog eyes.
âDonât call me that.â You snap while swiping your phone back from his hands. âI didnât think Iâd have to spell it out for you, but weâre fucking done.â
âYou seriously believe that I would cheat on you?â He asks in that stupid arrogant tone of his, completely ignoring your blunt rejection.
âWhy else would your high school crush post a picture of you with kiss marks all over your face!? You look so fucking dumb and in love. I fucking-â Your throat chokes up as if your body was trying to stop you from saying something you didnât mean. The words âI fucking hate youâ die right there on your lips. Tears fall down your cheeks, and you place your palms over your eyes to hide yourself from his impregnable gaze.
âThis, again?â He asks in a frustrated tone before letting out an exasperated sigh, He turns the stove off - abandoning his food before walking over to you. He bends his knees a bit to get on your level. âLook at me.â He demands before his hands go to pull yours away from your eyes.
âDonât fucking touch me.â You cry out, jerking back away from his presence. Your breath speeds up. The oxygen isnât having enough time to enter your bloodstream. Your body is vibrating, forcing the air quickly from your lungs. Everything is moving so fast and why the fuck is he so close to you-? Heâs suffocating. Fuck, catch your breath. Whyhim?Whyyou? Why?Why?Whatdidyoudotodeservethis???
A gush of air is blown harshly onto your face, and you can feel the bitter cold feeling of something touching your skin. Your eyes see Satoruâs hand holding an ice cube, guiding it along your warm skin on your arm. Your body is so hot that itâs melting faster than heâs moving it.
âBreathe. Match my movements.â Satoru guides in a calm yet steady tone. Your eyes find the way his chest is slowly rising and falling with each breath. You want to tell him to go play in traffic. You donât need him to ground you. You donât need him to do anything for you. You donât need him.
Still, your body matches his slowly. Your breath becomes more stable, and you can feel your heart starting to settle into a more natural rhythm. Your bleary eyes meet his empathetic ones. Itâs been so long since your last panic attack, but he remembers just how to calm you down.
It only makes it all hurt so much worse.
âItâs almost over. Youâre doing a good job.â He takes his chances at encouraging you. It feels so sickening, more tears flee your eyes. Where had your boyfriend been, and why is he only just now back after he did the unthinkable?
âSing with me.â Itâs an odd request, but itâs something he found that grounds you better than most grounding techniques. Saying repeatable phrases in melodic tone is comforting for your mind.
âNo.â
âCome on⌠Just one time. Your favorite.â He tries again. Metaphorically, lighting the candle and passing it back to you.
You shake your head in response. Flame snuffed. How can you sing with him after what he did to you?
âCome on, don't leave me it can't be that easy, babeâ He starts with such a soft angelic voice. You fold in on yourself unable to keep the sob from escaping your throat. What method of torture is this??
âIf you believe me I guess I'll get on a plane. Fly to your city excited to see your face.â He continues, lighting that same candle. Itâs so small, barely there anymore from how many times you two have tried to relight it.
âHold me, console me and then I leave without a trace.â The ice cube has completely melted, and his hand is resting on your arm. He slowly guides you to his chest, and you indulge in his warm embrace for just one last time.
âCome on, don't leave me it can't be that easy, babe.â His chin rests on top of your head. Youâve always fit so well in his arms. Heâd always tell you that whatever higher power is out there made you specifically with him in mind.
âIf you believe me I guess I'll get on a plane. Fly to your city excited to see your face.â His skin is so warm against yours, and your tears are sticking to your chest.
âHold me, console me and then I leave without a trace.â You finally indulge him, softly joining in on his singing. His body slowly starts to guide you two into a soft subtle sway.
âCome on, don't leave me it can't be that easy, babe.â Itâs not that easy. This fucking hurts so bad. Why would your soulmate do this to you?
âIf you believe me I guess I'll get on a plane. Fly to your city excited to see your face.â You feel so pathetic â seeking out comfort from the one who hurt you this bad. If your friend could see you right now, sheâd slap some sense into you.
âHold me, console me and then I leave without a trace.â
Youâre sniffling softly into his chest, and his hand carefully pets your hair. âThose kiss marks werenât from Utahime.â He explains in a soft tone. âWe were filming a TikTok. The punchline of the joke was that Suguru and Haibara were the ones who kissed all over my face.â
You look up at him with an unsure look on your face, not understanding what he meant. Satoru carefully picks your phone up, and he clicks on Haibaraâs Instagram story from last night.
Sure enough, Haibara posted a TikTok of him, Suguru, Satoru, and Utahime. The camera points at Satoru, showing the kiss marks on his face, and the sound plays. âBro, what happened to your face? Did you do that?â The camera then pans to Utahime to which she mouths the words, âI did not do that.â The camera then pans to Haibara with smeared wine red lipstick on his lips who says, âThen, who did?â The camera is then panned towards Suguru. He also had wine red lipstick smeared on his lips. âYeah, who?â The two boys start laughing along with Satoru, and the video cuts.
It only comforts your weary heart slightly.
âIt was just a stupid TikTok⌠I shouldâve consulted you or warned you⌠done anything to respect you.â
âThis doesnât take back how awfully cold youâve been over the last few weeksâŚâ You sniffle out quietly, and Satoru nods his head knowingly.
âI know, sweetness.. I know. Iâve been terrible.â His arms squeeze you a bit tighter â frightened that he was so close to loosing you, still scared of losing you.
âThatâs not an apology⌠or even a reason.â You try to squirm from his grip, but Satoru holds you tighter.
âIâm so fucking sorry, sweetness.â He breathes out a shaky breath, and you realize the shakiness in his voice. Glancing up at him, you feel yourself clam up with the sight of tears in his eyes. Christ, his eyes are somehow even more blue when he cries. âShit got crazy at work then-â
âYou still had time to party it up with your friends. You left me without even telling me you love me.â You finally break away from his grasp. The cheating accusation was only the surface of the main problem.
âYou know I love youâŚâ His voice is small, and he wipes his eyes of the tears that are threatening to spill.
âDo I know that?â
âDonât⌠donât say that.. I love you more than life itself.â His shaky hands go to reach for you again, but you move back away from him.
âYouâre only doing this because Iâm leaving you. If I hadnât mentioned it, youâd probably still be half assed ignoring me.â You stare at him, and your eyes start to water for the nth time today.
âThatâs notâŚâ Satoru bites his tongue, and he runs a hand through his messy white hair. âI came home this morning⌠saw the uneaten tv dinner in the trash⌠Your reality tv show was still playing in the background, and I saw how you fell asleep with your makeup messed up⌠I realized then how much I neglected you⌠I planned a full day for us to enjoy each otherâs presence⌠Please, donât leave me for this. I can fix this.â
âHow did it feel to look at me everyday when I tried so fucking hard to reach you?â
âIt killed me.â He breathes out, and he tries to reach for you again. âPlease, I missed you so much. Work was just so fucking much, and I donât know why I took that out on you.â
You stare at him, and you shake your head silently. âYou should go, Gojo..â Your voice cracked as it physically pained you to tell him to leave. Your body craves him more than anything else in the world right now.
âNo, please, princess. Donât do this⌠I can fix this. Iâll do whatever it takes⌠just donât leave meâŚâ Satoruâs on his knees, literally begging you not to leave him. Tears are falling down his cheeks as he bows his head to you.
Itâs humiliating, but heâs so humiliatingly in love with you. Heâs so dead serious. Heâd do anything for you to stay with him.
âToru..â
âIâm sorry. Iâm so fucking sorry. I-I donât know why I did it. I just pulled away from you, and I donât know how it happened. Youâre the best damn thing thatâs ever happened t-to me. Please. I canât function without you.â
You stare at your boyfriend with concern as his head literally touches the floor beneath him. You donât even know what to say to him. The thought of leaving him hurts so fucking bad. It steals the breath from your lungs.
âPlease donât leave me⌠puhâŚ. please stay with me.â Heâs groveling at your feet, unable to stop the tears that escape his eyes. The thought of living in a world where you arenât his girlfriend⌠he wouldnât. Heâd be a shell of who he once was. Heâs nothing without you.
You slowly sit on the floor in front of him, and your hands stroke his soft hair gently. Satoruâs breath slows as he finally gets a grip on his emotions. He realizes just how pathetic he looks. He slowly leans up, and he looks at you. Both of you looked like complete messes, and it was all his fault.
âI donât deserve you,â He murmurs quietly. âbut please, I can make this better⌠I love you so much, sweetness⌠I wouldnât dream of ever cheating on you.â
âI donât forgive you.â Your voice is barely a whisper. The metaphorical flame is so small and shaky, but if you two both shield it from the wind, itâll be able to grow once more. âYou have a lot to prove me, Toru.â
âIâll spend every waking minute of my life fixing this. I promise you, sweets.â
and he did. Satoru went back to loving you loudly. He didnât merely shield the flame from being blown out, he fanned it himself so it grew in intensity. He was back to doting on you constantly, and he did frequent check-ins to make sure you werenât feeling neglected. He took frequent vacations from work with you. He usually took you two out on holidays to wherever your heart desired, but sometimes you two would use his vacation time to just lounge around the house and enjoy each otherâs presence.
Your confidence slowly returned to you over time. It wasnât easy by any means. It took many nights of Satoruâs consistent reassurance and overwhelming love and support for you to slowly start feeling comfortable in your relationship with him.
He put in the work, nourished your flame, and he never made you feel guilty for having a second thought because when he loves, he loves deeply. Casual is not his strong suit.

You had every intention to hang the wet laundry out to dry on this beautiful sunny day. It was a simple task, really, one you could have completed in less than five minutes had you not let yourself get distracted.Â
Said distraction came in the form of Lee Seokmin, your sweet doting boyfriend of four years, who had decided to take advantage of the nice weather and switch his usual gym session for a home workout in your garden.
It was quite the sight as he sat on the weight bench, his gorgeous sun-kissed arms and legs on full display, toned muscles pulling and coiling with every raise of his arms. His skin was coated in a thin layer of sweat, making his brown locks stick messily to his forehead. It was almost as if he was chiseled by the gods themselves with how absolutely breathtaking he looked in the bright and glowy sunlight.
You had to resist looking over every few seconds as you attempted to put the laundry pieces on the clothes line. But as the minutes passed, you quickly discovered that trying to suppress the urge to gawk at your hot boyfriend was a battle you werenât going to win, especially when he was constantly releasing those sinful grunts that sent your mind into a frenzy.Â
Before you knew it, the laundry was long forgotten. The only thing that was going through your mind in that moment was how much you wanted â no, needed â to feel Seokminâs sweaty body against yours. Thanks to your busy and exhausting schedules, it had been a few days since you and your boyfriend last had sex, which, with a sex drive as high as yours, had driven your need for the man to an all time high.Â
It was time to do something about that.
Your legs were already moving on their own accord as your hungry gaze settled on Seokminâs thick thighs, a mischievous smile overtaking your features as you planned out your next move.
Your boyfriend was completely lost in his own world, totally oblivious to the thirsty thoughts floating around in your head as you crept up on him. The headphones he wore drowned out any distracting sounds as he focused on his reps, and with his eyes fully closed, he did not hear you approach him until it was already too late.Â
âWhat the fâ baby?!â Seokmin nearly dropped the two 8kg dumbbells he was holding when you jumped him out of nowhere, trapping him with your arms and legs like a clingy koala.Â
âThatâs me.â You giggled at the dazed look on your boyfriendâs face as you uncovered his ears.  Â
âWhatâs the meaning of this?â he breathed, carefully lowering his arms to place the dumbbells into the grass.
You licked your lips, shifting your hips slightly to get more comfortable. âWhat does it look like?â
âLike youâre trying to kill me,â he groaned before firmly planting his hands onto your sides to get you to stop rubbing against his crotch.Â
A sly grin tugged at the corners of your mouth. âThatâs what I was trying to go for.âÂ
âOh, were you now?â He raised his eyebrows. âI was almost done with my workout, you know?â
âHmm, that really sucks then.â You tangled your fingers in his messy hair.Â
âGive me five more minutes,â he mumbled, briefly closing his eyes at the feeling of your nails scratching along his sensitive scalp.Â
âNo,â you whined, immediately stopping all movement, much to your boyfriend's disappointment. âI need attention now. It's been too fucking long already.â
You didn't care how whiney you sounded. You needed him right at this moment, and you sure as hell weren't going to wait another minute, especially not for him to finish his damn workout.Â
âBut I'm sweaty,â he argued with a scrunch of his nose.Â
You smirked at that, tightening your grip on his hair as you moved in closer, your lips now less than an inch apart.Â
âEven better,â you whispered before teasingly brushing your lips against his. âYou're fucking hot when you're sweaty,â you continued, which was followed by you shifting your hips once again, this time with a little more force.Â
Seokmin released a sharp hiss at the throbbing sensation your hips left in their wake. The muscles in his thighs automatically tightened, and so did the grip on your waist, all of which you were more than excited about. You got him right where you wanted, and it was only a matter of time before he would take the bait.Â
âYou're the devil.â
âOnly when I have to be.â You grinned, your big twinkling eyes glued to his face as you slowly began to trail one of your hands down his chest. You only stopped when you reached the now very prominent bulge in his black shorts.Â
âFucking hell,â Seokmin cursed under his breath when you gave him a little experimental squeeze. It was just a simple touch, but he already felt the arousal gradually starting to overtake his mind and body. Just a minute ago, heâd been in full workout mode, but now he suddenly couldnât stop imagining you stuffed full with his cock, begging him to make you cum again and again until you could no longer move.Â
You took advantage of the moment and closed the little bit of distance between you to pull him into a deep kiss. Seokmin didnât resist, already having decided that heâd much rather spend his time pleasuring his pretty and horny girlfriend instead of finishing the remainder of his stupid arm reps. Besides, you were right. It had been a while since heâd gotten his dick wet, so if you wanted to change that, who was he to object?
It only took a few seconds before Seokminâs lips were just as hungry and forceful as yours, pulling at your mouth with an eagerness that made your gut clench with anticipation.Â
His hands navigated down to the swell of your ass, fingers digging roughly into the soft fabric of the yellow sundress you were wearing to press you into his growing erection. You moaned into the kiss at the sudden shift, your own hands moving to grasp at whatever piece of bare skin you could find as you felt yourself grow hotter by the second.Â
Your patience was slowly beginning to run thin the longer you sat in his lap with your panties soaked and your neglected cunt begging to be filled. You honestly hadn't felt this needy in a while, so you really didn't want to deprive yourself of Seokminâs dick for much longer. And you prayed that he felt the same.Â
You knew the man liked to drag the whole thing out with a shit ton of foreplay, which often included endless make out sessions and bringing you to multiple squirting climaxes before he even got to fuck you. It was the whole reason sex with Seokmin had become one of your favorite pastime activities in the first place.Â
Your boyfriend was a natural at pleasuring you, and he had been since day one. You quickly learned that faking pleasure and Seokmin could never belong in the same sentence. In fact, more often than not, youâve had to beg him to stop making you cum for fear of passing out from over stimulation. But even in those moments, he usually still managed to pull another few mind-shattering orgasms out of you like the magician he was, and you were certainly not complaining.Â
It was just that right now, in this particular moment, you needed him to skip the long foreplay and fastforward to the part where he fucked you stupid.Â
âMin, I need you inside me so bad,â you whimpered in between kisses, hoping your boyfriend would get the hint and give you just that.Â
He did not get it.Â
All you got out of it was an appreciative grunt and a harsh squeeze to your backside that did nothing to satiate the pulsing ache in your pussy.Â
Accepting that you were just going to have to speed things up yourself, your hand sneakily found the waistband of his shorts, fingers already tugging the material out of the way to grab a hold of his hard dick. If everything worked out in your favor, you'd be sitting on it within the next twenty seconds.Â
âFuck, baby,â Seokmin groaned, one of his hands clasping around your wrist before you even had the chance to wiggle your hand inside his shorts. âWhy don't we go inside before we start ripping off clothes, hmm?â
âNo.â Confusion. Thatâs the emotion that flashed across your boyfriendâs face at the sound of your outright no.Â
âNo? But I thought you wanted toâŚ?â He frowned, slightly loosening his hold on you when he thought you didnât want to continue.Â
You quickly wrapped his arms back around your waist before grasping his face in your hands.Â
âOh, I do.â A cheeky grin pulled at your mouth. âRight here. You're fucking me here.â
âRight here? O-outside?â Seokmin stuttered, his eyes nearly bulging out of his head as he seemed to process your words.Â
Although your sex life was pretty active and more than satisfying, you couldnât exactly call it adventurous. Despite many of your close friends believing that you and Seokmin were a couple of kinky fuckers, your sexual escapades were usually limited to your bedroom and definitely more on the vanilla side of the spectrum.Â
Not that there was anything wrong with that, of course. On the contrary, even the most vanilla sex with him felt a hundred times better than the riskier and more experimental sex youâd engaged in with some of your exes, so you didnât even really miss it. Still, sometimes â like right now â you wished heâd just throw you around and fuck you into the next day for everyone to see.Â
You were, however, very much aware that asking him to fuck you in the garden was a complete one-eighty from your usual bedroom adventures, and it could potentially get you caught by your nosy old neighbors, which was definitely a con. But then again, you were feeling unusually risky today, so you honestly couldn't care less who got to see you getting railed. Your only concern right now was soothing the ache in your throbbing cunt.Â
All you had to do was convince your lovely, handsome boyfriend to make that happen.Â
âYes, right here.â You nodded and reached up to undo the first two buttons of your dress, taking note of how your boyfriend's eyes automatically gravitated towards your fingers. âGot a problem with that?â
âWell, uhâŚâ Seokmin swallowed thickly as you popped three more buttons, exposing the strapless, lacy, white see-through bra you were wearing underneath. Your hard peaks were poking right through the flimsy material, which made it nearly impossible for him to rip his eyes away from the arousing sight. Your boyfriend was a sucker for your boobs â or any part of your body for that matter â which is exactly why you hoped the next part of your plan would work.
âI thinkâ uhâŚâ He tried to form a coherent sentence, but failed terribly when you popped another three buttons, his eyes following diligently as your action revealed the smooth skin of your stomach. âWhat Iâm trying to sâ thatâŚâ
By the time you popped the remaining three buttons, Seokmin had completely forgotten what he was going to say. His eyes were practically glued to your body, in particular to the matching see-through panties that left little to the imagination. They gave him a perfect view of your puffy folds and the arousal seeping through the already drenched material.Â
Seokmin was â understandably â having a hard time keeping it all together.
âWell?â You suppressed a grin to hide the fact that you were thoroughly enjoying the effect you had on your handsome boyfriend. âYou gonna help me undress or do I have to do everything myself?â
You got your answer when he planted his lips back on yours without another word, hardly giving you a second to breathe as he pushed his tongue past your lips. You instantly melted against him as your body flooded with heat once more, your hands fumbling to grasp onto his shirt in an attempt to ground yourself.Â
Seokminâs fingers made quick work of your bra, skillfully unclasping the constricting garment and throwing it carelessly in the grass. He took a moment to admire your newly exposed flesh, eyes darting from one nipple to the other before they drifted back down to the drenched panties hugging your cunt.Â
He subconsciously licked his lips as he imagined his face buried between your legs, drowning himself in the taste of your sweet juices while you screamed out his name.Â
âStop staring like a creep and do something, please.â Your hand was back in his hair, fingers tightly gripping onto his locks as you pulled at his head, forcing him to rip his eyes away from your pussy and back up to your face.Â
âYou want me to do something?â An amused smile took over your boyfriend's features as he took in your desperate expression.Â
âYes!â you nearly cried, feeling seconds away completely losing your shit. âI swear to god, Seokmin. If your dick is not inside me within the next twenty seconds Iâll dâ ah!â
You didnât get to finish the rest of your sentence as you were cut off by your own shriek, eyes going wide with shock as you gaped at a smug-looking Seokmin. Just a second ago, youâd been sitting in his lap, but now you suddenly found yourself trapped beneath him, sprawled out on the metal workout bench and completely at his mercy. Â
âYou'll do what, baby?â Seokmin smirked triumphantly at your stunned face.
âForget that,â you breathed, using the grip you had on his hair to pull him in for another kiss. âFuck, that was hot. I want more where that came from.â
âNoted.â His eyes darkened as he pulled back slightly, and you released the grip you had on his head to allow him to lean back further.Â
Your belly fluttered with anticipation when he moved the fabric of your dress aside to make contact with your bare skin. His hands teasingly began to trail down your sides, sending a series of tingles down your spine as you let your mind run wild with desire.Â
A shaky breath left your mouth when your boyfriend hooked his fingers into your underwear, excitement filling your body instantly. You were already starting to lift your hips, eager to help him get rid of the one thing separating your cunt from his hungry gaze.Â
What you didnât expect was for him to pin you back down and tear your panties right off your body with a single move. You were left speechless once again, watching as your boyfriend proudly held up the torn lace before letting it fall to the ground.Â
That was definitely going on your âHottest Lee Seokmin Momentsâ list. Â
âYouâre really trying to drive me insane over here,â you mumbled when youâd finally found your voice again.Â
âYou ask, I deliver.â Seokmin chuckled and continued to pull his shirt over his head in one smooth movement, revealing a set of mouthwatering glistening abs and a little dark happy trail that disappeared into his black shorts.
âGood.â Your eyes shifted back up to his with a new determination, your legs slightly opening to give him a nice view of your slick cunt. âThen Iâm asking you to fuck me next.âÂ
With one hand, you reached for the waistband of his shorts, fully intent on tugging it down just enough so you could pull his dick out and guide it into your dripping hole.Â
But Seokmin had other plans.Â
âNow what?â you whined when his hands stopped you mid-move, wrapping themselves around your wrists just like heâd done before.
What would it take for a girl to get some dick from her boyfriend?
âNot so fast, baby. I'm gonna take care of you first.â
You shook your head in protest. âBut I donât want to wait any longer, Min. Please.â
âDo you want my dick or not, baby?â Youâd never nodded faster. âThen be a good girl and spread those legs wider for me.â
That little command had you automatically spread your legs wider, a soft moan rolling off your lips as your walls clenched hard around nothing. Never in the time youâd been with Seokmin had he called you a good girl, but you found that you liked it⌠a lot. And you wouldnât mind if he called you that more often from now on.Â
âOh? Does my baby like being called a good girl?â Seokmin smirked, his dark orbs burning into your own as he pushed your legs back as far as you could manage.
âYes, fuck⌠so hot,â you whimpered, your legs twitching when you felt his hot breath ghost over your glossy cunt.Â
âKeep being good and Iâll keep calling you that,â he murmured right before dipping his tongue between your slick folds. Â
The debauched moan you released in response was enough to make Seokminâs cock jerk uncontrollably inside his shorts. In return, he released a deep groan of appreciation, sending a wave of delicious vibrations to your core that automatically had you try to clamp your legs around your boyfriend's head. But Seokmin, who was way ahead of you, had such a tight hold on your thighs that it was nearly impossible to move.Â
He used that grip to bury his entire face in your pussy, hardly giving himself room to breathe to completely drown himself in the taste of you, determined to get you to squirt your juices all over his face.Â
With his skillful tongue alternating between flicking and sucking on your sensitive clit, applying just the right amount of pleasure in all the right spots to bring you to the edge, it took less than a minute before you were moaning his name like a mad woman.
Seokmin relished in the lewd sounds he pulled from you, and the way you desperately gripped at his hair to steady yourself as he devoured you, completely drunk on the taste of your pussy. His dick was painfully hard, straining against the inside of his shorts, practically begging him to relieve some of that agonizing tension. But in all honesty, chasing his own pleasure was the last thing on his mind right now. All that mattered was you, your climax, and nothing else.
It was even at the point that he'd momentarily forgotten you were doing all of this outside, in the garden, where any neighbor would be able to hear or see the obscene things he was doing to you. Not too long ago, Seokmin would have reeled at the thought of engaging in risky public sex, but now, here he was, eating you out in the garden and enjoying every bit of it, not a single fuck given.Â
You found yourself in a similar position, eyes rolled to the back of your head and your body twitching and shuddering from the overwhelming sensations coursing through your nerves. It wasnât exactly how youâd planned things to go â still no dick â but it certainly helped quench the worst of your sexual cravings. The way the coil in your stomach got tighter and tighter with every swipe of his tongue said enough.Â
âF-fuck thatâs gonna make me cum so fast, holy shit!â you whimpered when your boyfriend suddenly slid two of his long fingers inside you, immediately curling them up to press against that sensitive spot he knew would make you lose your mind.Â
Seokmin only hummed against your pussy, his eyes catching yours as the corners of his mouth tugged up into a devilish smirk. Then, his hand was speeding up, fingers mercilessly batting against your sweet spot while his tongue lapped at your swollen clit. He watched you succumb to the pleasure with hungry eyes, your face contorted in pure ecstasy as your moans got louder and louder the closer you got.Â
âYou like that, baby?â your boyfriend rasped, his mouth briefly detaching from your clit.Â
Your cunt clenched around his fingers in response, the only sound coming out of your mouth being a needy whine since you couldnât find it in yourself to come up with a sane response with how scrambled your mind was.
That was met with a sharp nip at your swollen nub.
âAnswer me,â Seokmin growled, apparently not satisfied with your lack of words.
You yelped loudly at the unexpected but very welcoming stinging sensation that had your nerves singing with pleasure. âShitâ yes! I fucking do!â
âThatâs a good girl,â he praised with a harsh slap to your inner thigh before taking your clit back between his wet lips.
The sound of the pet name unraveled something inside you, drawing every muscle in your body taut as you were abruptly thrown over the edge. The full force of your toe-curling orgasm caused you to cry out your boyfriendâs name, your legs trapping his head between your thighs while drenching his pretty face with your arousal.Â
Seokmin was perfectly content like that, groaning into your cunt like a starved man as he tried to catch every last drop of your slick with his mouth. Even when you began pushing at his head to get him away from your overstimulated pussy, it took him another twenty seconds before he finally detached himself, looking up at you with a dopey, satisfied grin and his chin dripping with your arousal.Â
âYouâre insatiable, Lee Seokmin,â you rasped, chest heaving as you tried to recover from the intense high youâd just experienced.Â
Said man leaned forward, placing a gentle kiss right below your belly button.
âYes,â He moved up slightly, this time placing a kiss right above it, âI am.â His lips trailed over your breast, goosebumps forming along the way, âButâŚâ He nipped at your neck, âyouâŚâ he whispered, his lips hovering right above yours, âwere so good for me,â he finished, capturing your lips into another heated kiss.
The taste of yourself on your boyfriendâs lips lit a new fire inside your belly, your skin flushing hot with a new surge of desire. It also didnât help that his hands were back on your thighs, kneading and rubbing at them, making every one of your nerve endings come back to life under his scorching touch.Â
âMin, get your dick out and fuck me,â you mumbled against his lips, determined to not take no for an answer this time.Â
Seokmin was fully prepared to give into your demands this time, no longer wanting to tease you because he was feeling just as desperate and eager to be inside you. There was, however, just one little thing he hadnât thought of before. But now with you sprawled out before him in all your naked glory, begging for his cock, the little voice in the back of his mind decided to make an appearance.Â
âFuck.â He grimaced. âJust hold on, okay? Iâll be right back,â he said, leaning forward to kiss you softly before making a move to get up.Â
You quickly grabbed onto his arm to stop him, confusion taking over your features at the sudden switch in mood. Â
âWait! Where are you going?â
âCondoms⌠donât have any on me. Iâll quickly grab one from inside.â
âWe donât need them,â you blurted out, immediately biting your bottom lip when you realized what you'd said.
Seokminâs eyes visibly widened at your bold suggestion. âBut you're not on any birth control. I could actually get you pregnant.â
âWould it really be that bad?â At that, the manâs eyes nearly bulged out of his head.Â
The topic of kids was nothing new between the two of you. It had come up on multiple occasions during the span of your relationship, and it was pretty clear that both you and Seokmin loved kids. The both of you always jumped at the chance of babysitting his two year-old nephew whenever Seokminâs sister and her husband needed someone to watch him, happy to spoil him and play with him as if he was your own.Â
It was no secret that you wanted a big family, and so did Seokmin, so that wasnât the reason he was a little hesitant to fuck you without protection. He just really didnât want you to regret anything if you did end up pregnant by the end of it, because a child was a big responsibility after all.Â
But he also couldnât deny that he wasnât tempted by the idea of your warm walls hugging his dick without anything in the way, and being able to empty his load inside your greedy, slick-covered hole like heâd always wanted to do.Â
It was hard not to give in to that, especially when you were looking at him with those big, seductive eyes of yours.
âBaby, Iâm serious.â
âSo am I,â you shot back, a mix of determination and lust adorning your face as you challenged your boyfriend.Â
Seokmin frowned, running a hand through his damp hair. âWe should think about thisâŚâ
âI already did, and I want this. I wanna feel you⌠all of you⌠inside me.â You looked up at him with the biggest puppy eyes you could muster.Â
âFuck, youâre not making it easy for me,â your boyfriend sighed, feeling completely torn between doing the responsible thing and giving in to his carnal desires.Â
âThen stop thinking and just fill me with cum.â
Seokmin gulped, letting out a shaky breath as he felt himself slowly start to lose the battle.
âShit. Are you absolutely sure about this? Is this really what you want, baby?â he asked, placing his hands on either side of the bench to cage you in.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, leaning up to touch your nose to his. âIf you're asking me if I want you to fuck a baby in me then yes, I totally want that,â you breathed, a small smile gracing your face.
Seokminâs dick twitched in his shorts at your declaration, unlocking a new level of desire that he didnât know existed. His body was full-on buzzing, adrenaline pumping through his veins as he felt the gears in his mind switch to a whole different setting.Â
You noticed the change in your boyfriend the moment the words had left your lips, the uncertain expression that had been on his face just now making way for a much more ominous expression, one you didnât quite recognize.Â
âMin?âÂ
âBend over.âÂ
âO-okay.â The slight edge to his tone had you scrambling to turn around for him, nearly causing you to fall off the bench in the process as your legs got tangled up in your dress. You planned to rip the clothing piece off your body to make your life easier, but the sudden hand pinning your wrist to your back made that impossible.
âDress stays on,â your boyfriendâs low voice sounded from behind you as you felt him flip up the material to reveal the supple skin of your ass.
You were about to protest, but the harsh slap to your behind that followed made you think twice about opening your mouth. The impact of his hand connecting with your tender skin pulled a soft whine from you, leaving you with a pleasant stinging sensation that sent a hot streak of arousal right down to your pussy.Â
There was barely any time to recover from the first slap before he delivered a second one, this one even more intense and brutal than the last one, forcing you to fight down a scream as you jolted forward, barely able to keep your balance since you only had one hand available to steady yourself.Â
Your boyfriend was no stranger to delivering the occasional slap to your ass, but it had always been in a loving kind of way and never like this⌠so rough and thrilling. So if this kind of spanking was your boyfriendâs reaction to seeing you bent over in your half-discarded dress, then you had no problem keeping it on.
âSuch a good girl for me,â Seokmin groaned, his cock twitching once again as he watched your ass jiggle for a third time when his hand reconnected with your delicate flesh. You could only moan in response as you felt yourself get wetter with every slap, hand gripping onto the bench for dear life while you let your boyfriend have his way with you.Â
Only after the tenth slap or so, when Seokmin noticed your legs were close to giving out on you, he released the wrist he was holding and allowed you to take a breather while he rushed to shove his shorts and underwear down his legs, finally freeing the raging boner heâd been neglecting for the past twenty minutes.
The man didnât waste any time as he grabbed onto your waist with one hand, lining up his engorged tip with your dripping cunt with the other.Â
A shudder ripped through him when he pushed forward, greedy eyes fixed on his cock disappearing between your ass cheeks, slowly getting enveloped by your tight walls as they made room for him.Â
It was unlike any feeling Seokmin had ever experienced. Although he was barely halfway inside, he was sure he wasnât going to last as long as he usually would have. Without the usual barrier in the way, he was able to feel it all, every little sensation â the warmth radiating off your walls as he slid in further, your creamy slick drenching his cock from head to base â it took everything in him to stop himself from bursting as he imagined how good youâd look with your ripe cunt stuffed full of his seed.Â
Seokminâs pupils were fully blown by the time your ass connected with his pelvis, his jaw clenched and the grip on your waist bordering on bruising as he momentarily stilled to let you both get used to the new feeling.Â
You werenât doing much better, trying to deal with the blissful ache whirling in your stomach as you tried to accommodate the familiar stretch. Only this time, you were able to actually feel the bulging veins forking along his length as they throbbed against your inner walls in the most intoxicating way.Â
âShit, Min,â you moaned, tightening your grip on the bench, âJust fuck me already. Feels so damn good like this.â
At your plea, Seokmin pulled his hips back slightly, slowly dragging his throbbing tip along your sensitive walls before abruptly burying his entire girth back inside your warm cunt with a loud groan.
âYeah? Like that?â
âYes⌠harder,â you whined, impatiently wiggling your ass in search of more of that delicious friction.Â
âFucking gladly,â he muttered, moving one of his hands to your shoulder before repeating the motion again, only this time with a lot more force and speed, which earned him a series of salacious moans that went straight down to his pulsing cock. Â
It didn't take long for Seokmin to completely lose every bit of sanity he possessed as he vigorously drove his hips into your ass, your pussy squelching loudly every time his cock slammed back inside your slippery hole.Â
Heâd never felt like this before⌠fully overtaken by this primal need to breed you like the good girl you were, completely set on ruining you with his cock and stuffing load after load of cum inside your hot cunt until you couldnât fit anymore.Â
The regular Seokmin, aka the sweet man who made you breakfast every day and made sure you had absolutely everything you could wish for, would have been a messy blushing puddle with all these nasty thoughts running through his mind. But this Seokmin, the pussy drunk, sex-crazed man who was fucking you as if his life depended on it, only felt himself get more riled up with every new lewd thought that entered his mind, not feeling bashful in the slightest.Â
You honestly didnât know where the hell this Seokmin had come from, but you hoped that this wouldnât be the last of him. His rough thrusts had you feeling like a complete wreck in the best sense of the word, causing you to release an obscene number of sounds you didnât even know you could make. It was no doubt the best dicking your boyfriend had ever given you, but too much for your body to keep up â you discovered that when your legs suddenly decided to give out on you mid-thrust.Â
Fortunately, your boyfriend was prepared and caught you just in time, firmly wrapping one of his beefy arms around your tits to press you against his bare chest, while his free hand clamped around your neck, forcing you to tilt your head up to the clear blue sky as he continued to pound into your sopping cunt.Â
âFuck, gonna fill this pussy,â Seokmin growled into your ear, his breath hot against the side of your face. âGonna fill it with my cum, fucking show the world youâre mine⌠get your pretty belly round with my baby,â he continued, never slowing down his unrelenting pace.
âGod, yes!â you moaned, eyes once again rolling to the back of your head as your walls fluttered in response to the filth rolling off your boyfriendâs tongue.Â
âDirty girl. You like the thought of me fucking a baby into you?â
âY-yes, fuck⌠want it, want your baby!âÂ
You didnât think it was possible but Seokminâs hips sped up even more after youâd said that, making you cry out loud as you clung onto his forearm to center yourself.
âGonna fill you up like you deserve, stuff you full till you canât walk. This pussy is fucking mine⌠mine to claim.â Seokmin had fully lost himself at this point, spewing all the filth he could think of, completely and utterly enthralled by your sweet raw cunt sucking him in so deliciously.
âOh god, Min, need you to cum in me,â you rasped, feeling the coil in your stomach start to wind and tighten as your boyfriend continuously battered against your sweet spot.Â
âSo fucking desperate. Such a good girl.â That was the moment Seokmin released your throat and lowered his hand to attach his fingers to your clit, rubbing sloppy figure eights into it while his dick continued to stretch you out.
âFaster⌠faster,â you urged, feeling your body tense at the sudden surge of pleasure shooting through you.Â
Seokmin listened to your pleas and sped up his fingers.
âOh, fuck, right there,â you whined, feeling like you couldnât hold it anymore. âGonna cum⌠gonna cum!â
White briefly flashed before your eyes as you came with a choked gargle of your boyfriendâs name, your cunt clenching around his cock as your body shook violently from the overwhelming sensations.Â
Seokmin didnât stop at that, feeling like he was seconds away from reaching his own high. With your fluttering cunt continuing to hold his dick in a chokehold, and you begging for his cum in his ear, it didnât take him long to get there.Â
With one last well-timed thrust, Seokmin buried himself all the way inside you, letting his own orgasm wash over him as he felt the first spurts of cum coat your inner walls. Both of you groaned in delight at the unfamiliar but arousing feeling of Seokminâs cum filling you up for the first time.Â
Heat bloomed inside you as your boyfriend continued to spill inside you, holding tightly onto you as he rode out the remainder of his climax.Â
âFuck, Min, so much cum,â you whimpered when you felt his seed begin to drip out of your swollen cunt and down your thighs. Thatâs how much there was. It felt like there was no end to it.Â
âPussy feels so fucking good, canât stop cumming,â he panted against your neck, moving his hands to rest on the smooth skin of your stomach.
You smirked, tightening your walls momentarily to pull a little whine from your boyfriend.
âWell, letâs say that Iâm not complaining.â
Only when Seokminâs cock had fully softened and there really was no more cum to give, he reluctantly pulled out of you, not being able to stop himself from gawking at the big globs of cum dripping out of your pussy with his cock no longer holding it in.Â
âMin?â
âHuh?âÂ
Despite your extremely wobbly legs, you managed to turn around and threw yourself at the man in front of you, wrapping your arms around his neck as you stared into his eyes with a cheeky smile on your face.Â
âI love you, you know that? Youâre a fucking freak!âÂ
Seokminâs cheeks began to flush at your exclamation, his eyes quickly averting yours in an attempt to escape your intense gaze.Â
âOhâŚ. uh, that? WellâŚâ he stammered, one of hands coming up to rub at his neck.
âAre you seriously acting all shy on me now when you just fucked my brains out?â You giggled, shaking your head in disbelief.Â
âWell, when you put it like thatâŚâ He chuckled, a dopey grin on his face.
âPromise me youâre gonna show this side of you more often.â
Seokmin raised his brows in surprise. âYou sure? It wasnât too much?â
âFuck no.â You shook your head. âIt was definitely some of the best dick youâve given me.â
âI guess I have no choice then, do I?â He smiled widely.
âNope. Besides,â You leaned in to kiss him softly before whispering seductively, âif you wanna give me a baby, we better do that many more times, just to be sure.â
âYouâre absolutely right.â Then your boyfriend scooped you up without another word, your surprised shriek echoing through the garden as he hurried to rush you inside the house, eager to do it all over again.
