hi everyone, i've been speaking to my friend reem (@danashehab) and she has told me of her difficulties in reaching her fundraising goal to evacuate herself and her family from gaza. her messages break my heart, and i want nothing more than to help her achieve her dream.

before october 7th, reem, her husband, and their five beautiful children, the youngest of which is less than 2 years old, lived in the north of gaza. her husband, fahed, owned a gym which served as their family's source of income.

however, they have since been displaced numerous times after the destruction of their home and fahed's gym. reem's children suffer from the anxiety and terror of growing up in genocide, and reem suffers from the uncertainty of their situation, unsure of what to do or say to give her children hope; this is only made worse by the fact that their campaign has been moving at a snail's pace as of recently.

if you're able, please donate whatever you're able to help reem and her family. reem's endless love for her family and her children are palpable in every message i receive for her, and it is clear that everything she does is for them. as of july 30th, €27,420 / €50,000 has been raised, which is just over half of their goal. if you're unable to donate, please reblog and share to other platforms so reem's family can reach their goal as soon as possible. they deserve to live a life of peace and happiness, safe from the threat of genocide.

Words cannot express how utterly disappointed I am when it comes to helping Sudan. People are hesitant to show their support. They would even dismiss it. No, I am not making this shit up. I have been talking to people about Sudan and their reaction is lacklustre!

I know anti-blackness plays a significant role, along with the lack of media coverage (which is, again, due to anti-blackness), but this is unacceptable. Many people are dying. The country going through a flooding. Homes are destroyed. Families are displaced. Famine is claiming more lives than the RSF (Rapid Support Forces) and SAF (Sudanese Armed Forces) combined.

fic, podfic, & beta commissions to support two gazan families!

i'm opening commissions for writing fanfics, recording podfic, and offering beta services to help raise funds for rozan and aboud, two young people in gaza who are supporting their families and trying to survive this genocide! you can learn more about rozan & aboud and their campaigns here.

this might be a little different than other commission options you’ve seen because rather than setting flat rates for donations, i'm going to be asking people to become monthly subscribers to rozan & aboud’s campaign, which is minimum $10 USD per month – and, given that the genocide has no end in sight, will be continuing indefinitely. the monthly subscription is important because the needs of rozan & aboud & their families are ongoing, especially as food, water, and safe shelter become harder and harder to find in gaza, and both families have intense medical needs as well.

*URGENT HELP NEEDED*

I am once again urgently raising funds on behalf of my friend. We weren't able to help them escape their abusive situation back in January, but they were able to keep a roof over their head through winter and the first of the horrible heatwaves this summer.

They are still unsafe and being financially abused, and are once again at risk of eviction. This time, we want to actually get them moved out.

with mpox taking off, y'all (especially mask blocs) should be calling pharmacies asking them to order in the vaccine & getting your friends to call in too most pharmacies will list it as an option but they don't have it in stock. Some have never even filled a single order for it, some don't even have the ability to order it despite it being a listed option. If you've got a car, help people with mobility limitations get vaccinated too I got mpox from a contaminated surface in 2022 and the "intractable pain" that was typical of it was severe enough to make me suicidal. It was excruciating. This being a different clade, people vaccinated or previously infected have some resistance but may be reinfected. It's both airborne & spread by fomites. Hypochlorous acid, bleach, & rubbing alcohol kill mpox, as does washing contaminated textiles in hot water (oxyclean helps kill it too).

Remember that this is happening bc the so-called west refused to give people in need the vaccine. COVID is breaking records, h5n1 is poised to become a pandemic & vaccines are being withheld for that. Work together to help people survive.
