Felicity #1
He was thankful for the sorcery world as it allowed him a life he could only dream of. But then it almost cost him his life, and imagining leaving you behind wasn’t easy. So he resigned, willing to be his beloved's absolute best support system and house husband. The perfect husband. So what’s that nagging feeling at the back of his mind?

Summer comes at an astounding pace. One day, allergy season, and spring showers. Next thing you know, the day to jump into a pool is here. New beginnings and cold frozen lychee martinis in hand.
Today was not that day.
As Ijichi lifted his visor, he wiped the sweat from his brow, feeling the tremendous relief of the cloth against his skin. While he appreciated knowing the linens would dry much quicker with the heat, he wished it wasn't draining every drop of his life source in the 20 minutes he was outdoors. Grabbing the basket of dried items, he returned to fold them, thrilled to sit and finish the final 2 episodes of Bad and Crazy so he could finally talk to you about the end once you made it home.
"Baby? I'm home early." You take your shoes off, sliding on your slippers. As you walked further into the house, a delightful scent of pie and freshly cut pineapple filled the air, a surprising aroma for this time of day. Intrigued, you go to the kitchen, confident that he is up to something. There he is, headsets on, lost in the music, his voice softly humming the words to what you think is 505 by the Arctic Monkeys. His head bobs to the beat as he dices the pineapple into bits. You can't decide what's sweeter, the pineapple or the joy in his voice. You stand in the entryway, a warm feeling of love and contentment washing over you, waiting until he sets the knife down to approach. Rubbing the center of his back, he didn't flinch as he recognized your touch, but he was a bit flustered. "Darling! You're home very early today! I.. Dinner isn't even done." He looks down at his watch, then back at you. "Everything okay at the school? Are you hurt?" he quickly removes his headphones before bringing a hand to your face, ensuring no harm was done. You embrace him before kissing him. "Everything is okay. I'm just home early. I promise." The relief in your voice is palpable, reassuring him that all is well. "If you insist. Though you never leave early, something is up, yes?" the man was persistent. "You know me too well, Chi." "It's part of the Kiyotaka genes. Knowing your spouse so well, they accept defeat early," he warmly snickers before bringing a piece of pineapple to your mouth. "So. What's the news?" Swallowing, your eyes show the excitement before you speak. "Satoru accepted the proposal to change how we train students on field missions to transition into their sorcerer roles. He loved the idea and offered me the role so I could ensure it was done correctly!" Elation filled Ijichi's face as he realized he helped implement a new structure that would last. "Love! Th- this is big! I'm so proud of you!" His hug couldn't have been tighter. The achievement in itself was monumental. But this meant he could 100% step out of his role and be your best homemaker. "Well. this is no small feat! I need to plan something. A pool party? No, not everyone wants to swim." Ijichi grabbed a writing tablet from the nearby drawer and clicked the attached pen. "Honey." "We could have a luau? Eh. I don't want to dig up the yard even if it would produce a really succulent pig." "Chi?" "Yes, darling?" His eyes immediately find yours. Gleeful, he leans in for a kiss. Happily accepting, your lips meet his as your arms wrap around his neck. "Let's just do a dinner party. A small one. Nothing too extravagant. Some wine, a few appetizers, a main course. And we can see if Mrs. Nanami can make us a cake. Yeah?" "My darling love, that sounds perfect. Leave it to me."
Tumblr media
So here he was, organizing a party celebrating the sunshine season and his beautiful spouse's promotion.
"Yes. And that one should have light pink spray roses, burgundy carnations, orange carnations, bells of Ireland, pink asiatic lilies, purple cushion spray chrysanthemums, blue sinuata statice, variegated pittosporum and if possible, leatherleaf fern."
He sucked his teeth, crossing the name of the nursery off of his list with a look of defeat.
"Ah. No. That won't do, I'm sorry. Thank you for your time." He hung up the phone and began to scribble another note on his pad before sighing and sitting down next to you.
"Ijichi. While I appreciate everything you're doing, you don't have to get every available summer flower."
"Honey. I know you appreciate it, but it's not about the flowers. I want it to be a beautiful piece for you. You've done something amazing! I want to celebrate that with no cut corners." Lightly squeezing your hand, Ijichi kisses your forehead before pressing another to your nose.
You don't remember the last time you'd seen him this relaxed, but it suited him well.
His usual combed, pristine hair that formed on his face was now lazily combed back, showing his beautiful facial structure. His hollowed cheeks had a peach flush once he noticed you were admiring his face. "Honey." He was easy to fluster, even after this long. "You're so handsome. And so kind. Don't overdo it in the name of trying to please me."
He has learned from previous affairs he's planned that sometimes he bites off more than he can chew occasionally. Like that birthday when he invited every class at Jujutsu Tech, administration, and the front office of your apartment complex. "Baby. All these people aren't going to fit in my apartment for much longer." You looked at the over two dozen people uncomfortably smiling in the living room, cramped but trying to look happy.
"Don't worry, sweetheart. I uh.. we will make it work."
"It will be a small, intimate gathering. You've already decided on the guest list so that we will go with just those few." He rolled the sleeves up of his loose button-down, subtly interlacing his fingers with yours once he did. His cool touch brings a welcome tingle.
"You are a gift, Ijichi. I love you forever."
Kissing the palm of your hand, he glanced up at you over his glasses. "And forever, I love you. Now. Don't you have something to do? Like that shelf full of books you promised to go through so we can donate some?"
Your eyes narrowed before you laughed. "Yes, sir."
His lips met yours in a tender kiss. "Thank you, darling. I'll start dinner once I've finished making this last call."
He watched as you left the den, beaming as you hummed a tune equal to an angelic chorus. "Just get it over with Kiyotaka." Grabbing his phone and huffing, he scrolled down to the 'Gojo S. 😶' contact in his phone before hitting the call button.
Tumblr media
"The renovations are gorgeous. You brought out the traditional style of the home." Kento admired the flooring of your living area, taking in the uniqueness of the classic tile pattern.
"Thank you! Ijichi thought it was a good idea to uncover the beauty of the hardwood under our carpeting—the entire first floor. Come! He'd love to show you the rest of the work." With a smile, Nanami followed you to the dining room, where your husband checked the wine bottles to ensure perfect temperature. "Honey? "
Slightly frazzled, Ijichi's shoulders jumped.
"Yes, my love? Kento!" He brought his hand out, noticing his friend shaking hands before pulling him in for a quick hug.
"It's good to see you. You look very well rested, Kiyotaka."
"So do you! Retirement is doing us good, it seems," the men chuckled.
"I'll let you boys catch up. I'll let you know when everyone has arrived." Kissing his cheek, you left to head towards the front of the house.
After giving his tour, Ijichi eventually made his way to the study, showing Nanami the latest addition to his collection of handcrafted fountain pens and watching him appreciate the craftsmanship. Hesitant, a question popped into mind as he looked around his office.
"Kento. May I ask you something?"
"Of course. What's on your mind?"
With a sigh, Ijichi swallowed before continuing. "What do you do with all this downtime? I feel like I'm getting on my partner's nerves with all the house renovation nonsense, the pens, the mundane things I do daily. Do you think we'll regret retiring this early? Do you think our spouses will tire of us?" It all spewed out without much thought.
Part of Ijichi was happy he wasn't in immediate danger anymore. Though his worry was now with you as you helped lead the new generation of sorcerers, he knew you were far more capable. But it made him feel that perhaps you weren't into him as much now. He was home planning new projects, planning parties, and making dinners that could feed a dozen. Were you tired of him?
He knew precisely what Ijichi was thinking.
"When I told my wife I wanted to leave the jujutsu world, I don't think I'd seen anyone so relieved in my life." he sips his beverage, looking down at his wedding band.
"I did something I said I wouldn't do: marry while still in that world. But she was my calm in every storm we waltzed into. I did it with no regrets, of course. But after the incident in Shibuya that almost cut my life short…"
"Yeah…" Ijichi recalled the day of hell. You were in Kyoto, trying to return quickly once you heard what was happening. Ijichi was right there, facing death intimately. The reminder showed in the burn scars that covered half of Kento's body. He wore them with no hints of being self-conscious about them. He saw a smile growing on Kentos's face.
"I don't regret it. None of it. I don't think I can when I see how my partner looks when I'm working on a puzzle or cooking our favorite meal. Downtime now is something I treasure. We used to yearn for a day of peace and a little sense, you know." they both laughed, recalling the after-work drinks and gripes. "We are also still young enough to find any other profession if we choose."
"You’re right. I'm just overthinking… A lot"
"Don't feel like you're supposed to know what to do. I don't even know what the hell I'm doing most days." The tone of Kento's voice held a lot of compassion as he quickly found the words to reassure his friend. "We have done a lot of work. Dangerous work. We can afford to be indecisive and leisurely choose what to put our energy into."
While his words held some truth, that guilty feeling still sat in Ijichi's heart. "I do enjoy the leisurely pace of my life now. The house projects, the cooking, and the look on their faces when I show them my latest addition. I don't want to lose the gift of their unconditional love and unwavering affection. It's what drives my every move."
"Then ask them. When you two were dating, they seemed capable of simply talking about the uncomfortable quite easily. That's not changed, Kiyotaka. If anything, they will appreciate hearing your thoughts now that you are, in fact, the best house husband you could be."
He nodded as if weighing the potential conversation's pros and cons before letting out a breath he didn't realize was being held in. "Thank you, Nanami."
"You're like my brother Ijichi, of course. Now, I'm starving, and rumor is you made Spanakopita."
Amused, Ijichi led Kento back to the party's center; chatter was heard as they returned to the dining area. With a pause, Ijichi heard your voice and listened for a while.
"Satoru, I'm telling you. The entire plan was his idea. That last-minute meeting with the heads? He's a mastermind with that kind of planning."
"Well, duh. But he was a liability for a while. Great driver, excellent spreadsheet creator. But don’t you remember having to come and use your technique to get him out of the way against that grade 2 curse?"
"I was falling in love with the man! Of course I did. I would’ve done it again if it meant he was safe. I should've left you to do it so I could've gone home to him early that night." Ijichi smiled as you and Gojo laughed. That flushed feeling came rushing back to his face.
"I'm glad he has you. And that you have him. He was good to us both in the office and the field. He deserves some peace in his life." Gojo seems genuine in his words, an occurrence Ijichi has yet to accept fully.
"Though life isn't as easy without his continued presence and organization skills. Oh, you love birds. Do you want or maybe need a third in the home?" He pouts.
"I'd rather go back to 10 hours' worth of paperwork in that stuffy office at the school, Satoru," Ijichi interjected as he wrapped his arm around your waist, kissing your cheek with a gentle nudge of his nose.
"It's an option Ijichi. I don't require much! Just a sweet treat every once in a while and maybe a hug or 5."
"Please. Don't," you snickered at the comment, kissing your husband back.
"Behave." a playful nudge to his arm makes Ijichis lips curl up slightly. "Ken! Did you get the grand tour? Don't you love it?"
Kento nods. "It's phenomenal. Your husband knows his way around a home."
"Doesn't he? I've been given the gift of a homemaker with this one. He's made it feel even more like a dream. Nothing short of luck to have him as my forever beau."
It was hard to miss Ijichi's ears turning red as the kind words gave affirmation that he was doing everything right.
"Okay, okay. Enough of that." Clearing his throat, he raised his glass." Let's make a toast. To new beginnings with old friends who will stand the test of time. May we have more moments to sing each other's praises and welcome new changes!'
Post Party Unwind
Massaging your feet, Ijichi smiled. The gentle blaze of the low-burning fire nearby creates a cozy atmosphere for the end of a beautiful day.
"Thank you again, my love. Everything was perfect! You even got Shoko to leave the hospital for a while. You must tell me your secrets."
A quiet laugh escaped his lips. "Oh, it wasn't much. I just told her you'd be thrilled to see her. And the promise of sending her home with a bottle of top-shelf tequila may have also worked." laughter filled the cozy backyard as the cool night air sent a slight chill up your legs and arms.
"Want to head inside? I can run a bath for you while I finish cleaning."
"Why can't you join me in said bath?"
"Darling, there's so much cleaning to get done. The wine bottles, the mopping. Goodness, the leftover cake-"
"Ijichi Kiyotaka, my dear husband. Your loving significant other wants you to join them for a nice bubble bath. Please don't make me beg. I want to show you my appreciation." glint in your eyes, giving him the answer to his unspoken question.
Six years in, he couldn't take a flirtatious bout without coming apart just a little. It was just as amusing now as it was when he was driving you around back then. Adjusting his glasses before reaching up to run his slender fingers over your thigh, gripping the lush flesh with obviously wanton intent. "I'll go run us a bath. You are my priority, after all."

The current state of the spinoff right now has nothing to do with what Melissa wants or doesn't want and I do not appreciate her being used as a strategy for Norman, AMC, and the three stooges to evade responsibility. I don't know what happens next, but whatever it is, it is on them. For prioritizing their own needs over the core audience. For mishandling the characters/relationship the core audience is invested in. For constantly gaslighting everyone and refusing to deliver the payoff so many people have been waiting for. For not fixing the problem when they had the chance.
Yes, I am sad because this is supposed to be Melissa's time to shine. Yes, I really do want to support her because if anyone on this show has earned the support, it's her. If anyone is going to be worth watching in S2, it's her. If anyone's input is going to make a difference, it's hers. I do think she was excited to show the impact that Sophia's death had on Carol, but that doesn't mean she's getting everything she wants and it doesn't mean fans have to sit through relentless nunbaiting and a retconned bond between Daryl and Carol similar to S11 (I can only assume at this point that's what we're getting). I will not do that. Platonic Caryl is inorganic to me, and speaks more to TPTB's ageism/misogyny than it does about anyone's creative input. Daryl being torn between Carol and French characters he's only known for a few months is just fucking ridiculous. Period. It doesn't mean that I don't want to be here anymore or that I don't care about the characters or about Melissa. It just means I won't put money in AMC's pockets for awful decisions, like letting Zabel and Nicotero run amuck, like shoving "BESTEST OF BEST FRIENDS" down my throat, like forcing their nun fetish on me, like turning Daryl into every other generic male hero there is. If TPTB show they value Melissa/Carol as much as Norman/Daryl, if she and Norman get equal billing, if Carol's name is included in the title, if Daryl and Carol are allowed the romantic beats that their story in the flagship show set up, then I'm all in. In the meantime, for those who asked, my plan is this:
I am going to watch the premiere because I've heard enough reliable testimonies about the heavy Carol focus, the lack of nunbaiting, Carol's determination to find Daryl, and Daryl's desperation to get home for me to assume it's worth it. I will review the episode and show Melissa my support. I will go no further as soon as I hear any of that starts to change, which I expect will happen rather quickly, but I will keep speaking up where AMC can see it so they understand what's working and what's not. If Melissa's fans keep speaking up, reminding AMC how much they value her and how much they detest some of Zabel's other choices, then AMC can't try to blame her if numbers are low or assume we'll settle for whatever inappropriate writing choices Zabel throws at us if Melissa does bring the numbers up, and I do believe she's the only one who can.
I have nothing to say about S3 and beyond because the only way I'm on board is if AMC somehow manages not to ruin Caryl's story in S2 and hires a showrunner who can do these characters justice. Hint: it's not Zabel, it's not Gimple, and it's not anybody who's ever worked for them.

Thoughts on My Adventures with Superman S2 episode 3
Tumblr media
It's Cool seeing Clark unlock a New power each episode, however correct me if I'm Wrong, but I don't remember Superman having the power to Summon a protective Aura around in order to Sheild him and other people, it's probably a Power that came from the Newer comics but in my opinion, it just kinda Defeats the whole purpose of him being "The Man of Steel" if this makes him even more invulnerable, I'll probably get used to it eventually, but for now it's Not my cup of Tea, However I do LOVE the way the show handles his powers and introduces them to us very Slowly, kinda reminds me of how the CW would do the same thing for the FLASH, before the show eventually became Trash, Making this Show even more of a Banger than it already is ^^ (also love the little nod to Cyborg here )
Tumblr media
Either General lane is COMPLETELY Oblivious or he Really doesn't have the possibility of Clark being Superman due to how EASY it would be, So he Rules out the possibly of him immediately, or maybe Does know and is just messing with him to see how he reacts
METALO!? Omg it so awesome to see this character make an Appearance I wonder how far they will go with this character, will be like the killer android from the animated series and comics, or will it be something different, I'm really excited to find out, however I DO HATE the design for most of the mechanical Villains in this show, Don't get me wrong it's a great design, I'm just not feeling the whole Gundam/Eva vibe here myself, hopefully they'll Fix this in later episodes of S2, however I guess I'm just gonna have to be stuck with it for now
Tumblr media
Nice to see Vickie vale Return and I'm really glad that the show is still Bringing in more DC Characters as it continues like Silas Stone, and Jonathan irons, maybe We WILL get to see other heroes down the line, especially for Next season if it's Announced, I SO Can't wait to see who they decide to bring in Next for the whole Season, also Why is Vickie Vale even here, She lives in a whole other city with a much cooler Superhero, so why even come to metropolis? unless of course you're sick of being the Bats damsel 😏 or maybe she just loves to Troll Perry
Tumblr media
Livewire is Literally Superman's version of Shocker from Spider man, the fact that they don't really HATE their Superhero but rather just find them really Annoying is Just so funny to me, and I really love the look she Gives Superman here like "Omg Why are you here, why is it Always you, Why can't you just leave me alone?!" Is just Hilarious ^w^
Tumblr media
Glad to see that STEEL is here but in all honesty, I'm Not a complete fan of his design, I get that it's Supposed to be a prototype or something but in my opinion most of the designs in this show are either hit or miss, with the most of them being Misses, however I Do like a few designs from this show, like Parasite and Silver banshee and even the Superman suit itself, but the majority are Always a Miss, especially with these Stupid ASS Robot designs, I understand their purpose and Why they're here, but c'mon, you couldn't come up with anything else, I mean even Ultimate Spider man, a show Absolutely despise, has way better character designs, So what the hell? I hope this gets fixed later during Season 2, especially Since we know Brainiac is coming Very soon ^^
Tumblr media
Seriously What is this Power? So far It seems to just give him the ability to contain/Shield against anything of Major damage, and while I'm not gonna deny that it's a very cool, it just doesn't feel like Superman to me, maybe with time it will, but as for now Not a total fan, as long they don't decide to give him anything Stupid like the Ability to rebuild walls with his vision or to freaking Rewind time like the Christopher Reeve's Superman, I think we'll be ok 😅😅 also I Love that they're Humanizing their villains and really giving us a reason to Sympathize with them, like I felt bad for Thomas Weston at the end, I mean he didn't MEAN for this to happen, he just wanted to BEAT his competition
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I Really love the parallels Set up between these 2; While they're both clearly trying to keep the other in the loop of their life, they both have a Secret they're withholding from each other, While Clark is Trying to tell lois about his cousin, Lois will be trying to tell clark about her job offer, resulting in the drama continuing to build for these 2, and maybe eventually end in disaster, with I think neither of them revealing their secret properly and lois maybe leaving Metropolis, leaving Clark with Kara and her working in Gotham maybe we'll see the Bat In Season 3👀
Tumblr media
This is LITERALLY Jessie eisenberg's version of Lex, Just Treated way better, I mean we're already seeing him unfold into the Big Villain he's meant to be, with him already achieving Lex Corp, and Now having an entire army of evil robots, that im sure will probably be infused with Kryptonite as a way to kill Superman, I gotta say I'm loving his character arc so far and I really can't wait to see how he turns Evil, I even have theory of he'll lose hair due to going completely crazy, because I heard that one of the signs of insanity, is SHAVING your hair completely, now he may just lose it in a Freak accident or maybe even just shave it for charity, But can you imagine if he shaves his hair off due to his hatred toward Superman and because he's losing his Sanity of his former self, That would be pretty AWESOME, and interesting to see

every day that passes we're getting closer and closer to the final episodes of doctor who s14 (or s1, whatever) (i'm also in denial WTH does it mean that this season is almost over ????)
so before i forget (and before the last two episodes drop) i NEED to vent a bit about this season. the following are just my personal opinions (which might change after watching the season finale), please bear with me ^^
first of all - i am so glad doctor who is back !!! i must admit that my doctor who drought lasted for around 5 months as i got introduced to the show back in late summer 2023 and did a speed run of all nuwho seasons between september and november 2023. i got super excited for the december specials !! and i was even more surprised and thrilled when i found out a new season of dw was premiering in may 2024 !! i know i've been lucky to wait for so little to get immersed in a new dw season but i truly, truly missed it and i enjoyed every episode of s14 <3 now i'm sad to think that this is about to end, but it felt so good to finally see the doctor back in action and to get through each week thinking that one of my favorite characters/storylines/universes was gonna be there for me on the weekend <3 i love dw so much <3
#2 idk about you but i fell so easily for ncuti as the doctor and millie as ruby/the companion TT they're both so good, i really appreciated their acting this season and i would also say that it's probably one the (few) things that positively shocked me this time around. i guess it was a bit unfair for me to think that ruby wasn't my cup of tea after watching just 'the church on ruby road' ep because she totally surprised me this season. she's so great! millie's acting is on point, so captivating and funny to watch throughout the show. i can't wait to find out more about her character fr! well, what's to say about ncuti as the doctor .. ohmy oh my .. i don't think i've ever seen a doctor so confident, so flirtatious, so proud in themselves .. ncuti's doctor exudes charisma and i'm so here for it. that's absolutely not to say that the doctor's worries, traums etc. magically disappear (they're still very present and influence their every move), but what i loved the most about his acting is that he goes all the way into it. fifteen may become one of my favorite doctors ngl (say hi to eleven and ten) and i am so looking forward to where they're gonna take us next <3
#3 as for writing, i feel that something's missing ... don't get me wrong, i love rtd's cool nice funny episodes and seeing the doctor face a range of diverse situations (even the most unthinkable ones, e.g. space babies) is just priceless.. but there's some kind of void in it, too. now that i think about it, maybe it's not the writing itself but the length of the season - having less than 10 episodes doesn't really give us much time and space to properly explore the dynamics between characters, strengthen their relationships and make them grow both individually and as a whole. besides, i admit that i'm a bit biased, but i loved (most of) moffat's writing for the seasons he was a showrunner of and i personally would love to see ncuti bringing to life more stories written by moffat (yes..i know he wrote 'boom' for s14). basically, i miss 'old' nuwho seasons of 18+ episodes where we could get even more affectionate to the characters and the adventures that defined their journey through the multiverse T___T
before i move on to my last point, may i also add (storyline-wise) that i wished the episodes were more interconnected with each other? not necessarily with the narration, even just with easter eggs ^^" idk maybe moffat got me used to have high expectations lol (i'm still eager to find out who the lady appearing in all episodes is !!!! may this dw finale give us all the answers we need)
#4 i would have never thought i would write this (mainly because i would have never thought there could come a time when these gadget weren't going to be used as much) BUT I DEARLY MISS THE TARDIS AND THE SCREWDRIVER WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM ?!?!?! i loved previous doctors goofing around with their sonic screwdrivers and running in the tardis allowing us (the audience) to find out more and more about the endless number of rooms in it ... why does it seem like fourteen doesn't love their tools ?? why don't they show them more throughout the season ?? this is like classic items that can't miss in the episodes so WERE IS THAT SILLY GOOFY STUFF ?? also, as much as i enjoy fourteen and ruby going on adventures in different time periods etc. why aren't they EVER showed inside the TARDIS travelling and waiting to get to their destination ?? i'm just very nostalgic (i took this very personally, i'm sorry i'm just angry at rtd)
well - i guess that's it! if you've read this far, thank you for reading me <3 let me know what you think about it and what you're expecting for the next couple episodes of s14 <3
ps. i'm very hopeful that rogue will be a recurring character <3
pps. ncuti gave the queers the most fruity doctor ever (no shade to all previous doctors, you've served and delivered and we love u immensiely) <33

Arthur Shelby- Call The Midwife
Tumblr media
I was requested to do a request based on call the midwife. I couldn't choose just one character and one story line from call the midwife so I've done one for each. They will all be out over the next few weeks.
Inspired by season 2 episode 4
Falling pregnant was something Arthur and I were very excited about. A year after we married we knew that we wanted a baby. So here I am  now nearly 9 months pregnant. Groaning I sit down on our shared bed after going to the bathroom for what feels like the hundredth time tonight. Arthur puts his arms around me and rubs my large stomach
"How's my boy doing in there?"
"Making me need a piss every 5 minutes" I chuckle "Arthur?"
"Hmm"
"Esme said we should speak to the midwife about the baby not moving much. Said her lot she could feel kicking. I haven't felt him kick once"
"I'm sure he's alright in there, but we can speak to the midwife tomorrow if you'd like"
"Thank you Arthur"
"Anythin for you dear" Arthur helps me to lay down properly in bed, placing the bed sheets over me and I quickly fall asleep.
Sometime during the night I wake up to awful pains in my stomach. Waking Arthur up I tell him to go and call the midwife.
What feeling like hours pass and I'm pacing the bedroom huffing and puffing
"There here" Arthur finally says and in walks the midwife I've been seeing since falling pregnant
"Sister, thank god your here" I breath out just as another pain hits me
"How are you doing?"
"I feel terrible, look at me"
"Well it's not a beauty contest. Now let's take a look at you" the midwife says helping me on to the bed. She lifts my legs up and takes a look at me "well it looks like we're going to be waiting for a little bit. Your not quite ready yet"
"Oh god I want this over" I shout
"And it will be soon and you'll have a perfect little baby in your arms"
"Your the father I'm guessing"
"Yes sister"
"We'll time for you to leave. Go heat up some water. This is woman's business" with that Arthur leaves the room looking panicked.
Hours later the Sister checks me again and tells me that I'm ready to push
"Now on the next pain I want you to give me a really big push. Ok?"
"I don't think I can. It hurts so bad"
"I know it does but just keep thinking about this little one being in your arm. Ok right" as the pains hit I push with all my might "ok I want you to wait a minute and when the next contraction hits I want you to push really hard" I pause, panting out of breath. Another contraction hits and I start pushing again "keep going almost there"
"I can't"
"Yes you can. Baby is nearly here" finally I feel the baby leave my body, but there's no crying at first
"My baby, is he ok?"
"Come on little one" I here the midwife say and tears start to form, but once a cry is hear I breathe a sigh of relief "I'm just going to clean him"
"Is it a boy?" I ask
"Girl"
"A girl" i mutter smiling. There's a knock on the door and in walks Arthur "it's a girl Arthur"
"Mr Shelby we haven't quite finished in here. YN hasn't delivered the after birth yet"
"He can stay I don't mind"
"Erm well in that case. Mr and Mrs Shelby I need to speak to you both"
"What's wrong?" Arthur asks frowning
"Baby's had some complications"
"What's that supposed to mean. What's wrong with my daughter?" Arthur demands
"She's got a problem with her back"
"What kind of problem?" I ask worried
"Let me call for a doctor who can explain it to you"
"Spina bifida?" I repeat making sure I've heard the doctor correctly
"Yes"
"But most children with this condition don't make it past their 3rd birthday"
"Only if their condition is accompanied with other things. I want to take the baby to the London general"
"My wife and I haven't even held her yet"
"Arthur it's ok" I say placing my hand on his arm
"Your both welcome to visit whenever you'd like and once we're happy with babies progress then you will be able to bring her home"
"Thank you doctor. Sister" with that I watch them take mine and Arthur's daughter away. I can tell Arthur is feeling many mixed emotions, anger, hurt, upset, confusion. I lean my head on his shoulder
"What if she...." Arthur finally says, his voice cracking trying not to cry
"We have to have faith Arthur"
"Faith. We should name her faith"
"I love that name"

Audiodrama Sunday 8/4/24
How is it august already? This week I listened to a lot of InCo and new episodes of several other shows. Once I finish InCo I need something else to binge. I've got a ton of shows on my list, maybe I'll do a poll or something.
I hyperfixated hard on @itmeblog's InCo this week. I started season 3 last Sunday, and since then I've listened to 60 episodes. This season really hits everything for me, I'm a sucker for the found family and I love the political intrigue/family drama. “Palace politics” is one of my favorite genres of story. All of Hatov's siblings are great characters too. I'm currently right after the reveal of the full extend of the ambassador project conspiracy. I'm so excited to see how this story ends, I'll finish it by next week if I keep up anything close to this pace.
In @lostterminalpod this week the quote “I hope our new gods are the good kind” was so good. This season is almost over, so much has happened in basically no time. I'm still insane about the premise for this season and the way AIs interact with each other and the world so differently from humans.midn
@worldgonewrongpod's new episode was great. Jamie’s dad is insane, I love him. Also, the dual purpose garlic salt was such a good idea. I'm really liking the town council stuff, it has big Unwell energy.
In @midnightburgr's Welcome to the Horizon this week, the gang explore a horrible fungus house. Trinket is growing on me, despite my initial dislike of her, which I think was intentional. It's so nice to be seeing more of Verge outside of Young Leif. I really hope she reunites with Leif before the end of the season.
@spoutlore-blog joined Fable and Folly recently, and are doing a big marketing push, so I hope this great show becomes more well-known. The anticlimactic defeat of the pumpkin king was perfect, all of their stupid plans somehow falling into place was amazing. I genuinely laughed out loud at the line “it really brings my ass together”, which sounds insane without context.
In @worldsbeyondpod there was so much going on. Ame popped the fuck off, let them cook indeed. Brennan is insane for being able to play 4 different sides in a complex game of political intrigue simultaneously. Ame fucking over half the coven while ingratiating herself to the others was amazing. I totally called Mirara being the other target. Also, Tefmet’s loredump was great(if they can be trusted). If they can, holy shit the imprisonment of Naram was part of a larger conspiracy.
In @wanderersjournalpod Marigold finally made it out of the forest! Is Pluto like a criminal or something? What else would explain his actions, and his hesitancy to talk about them?
In Dear Liisphyra this week it was funny to see Kimbul and Bimbul (spelling?) actually asking for advice.
Lots of good stuff this week. As for upcoming stuff, the new Stories from Ylelmore season starts in a few weeks IIRC. Can't wait for that to start.

My 8x01 Summary & Thoughts
Okay, I just watched the premiere of season 8, so I'm going to try my best to get out all of my thoughts. (There are a few things I didn't bring up, this is just everything I thought was important and would tie into what happens in the next two episodes.)
(I tagged this as 911 spoilers, but I'm adding a warning now. Under the cut is SPOILERS)
First of all, the music decisions for the this episode? Amazing. Love the fact that they used songs about bees. It was whimsy, which I love.
Gerrard was as annoying as I thought he would be and I loved everyone's reactions to him. I was surprised Buck didn't punch him, but I'm not surprised that Buck saved him while also inadvertently hurting him in the process. I hope this will put Gerrard out of commission for the next episode, but I don't have much fate that they'd bring back Bobby for the plane crash emergency.
Speaking of Bobby, I'm very sad that he had like three scenes this entire episode. Hopefully, we get more of him in the second episode, because I was wondering where he was. I do love that the lead actor on Hotshots wants to emulate after Bobby, because I'm sure Bobby's just itching to get someone to listen to him about the inaccuracies of the show. I hope Bobby gets to come back to the 118 soon.
As everyone speculated, Athena was tasked with escorting her late fiancé's killer, Dennis Jenkins (that's the killer, if it wasn't clear). But it's not enough that the plane she was on crashing was in her immediate feature, someone's out to kill Jenkins. All I can say about this is, I hope they don't put her through too much trauma. She's been through so much already these past seven seasons.
I'm lumping these two together since the majority of what they had this episode was together, and these two are Hen and Chimney. Chimney is bonding with Mara over Harry Potter, which I personally love them bonding. I also love the fact that Dennis, Karen, and Hen seem to come over to the Han house a lot to spend dinner so they can see Mara. Hen and Karen have a foster lawyer, so hopefully that will help with getting their foster license and Mara back. Definitely seeing signs of there maybe being friction between Hen and Chim soon about Chim and Mara bonding.
Eddie was going through it in this episode. First he has a very awkward happy birthday FaceTime call with Chris where Chris so clearly is still not happy with Eddie and Eddie has to find out that Chris is enjoying his time away in Texas. And then Buck suggests they lather Eddie in perfume to help get a drowning vic who has a swarm of bees over her out of the pool. It was very serious, but I couldn't stop laughing at the sight of him running around to attract all of the bees to him so Hen and Chim could go save the drowning girl.
Buck was very much butting heads with Gerrard. Every idea he had to deal with the bees (and they were good ideas), had Gerrard mad at him and then Gerrard even stole credit of the smoke idea. He also kept getting latrine duty, too. In the end, though, he did save Gerrard from getting sliced apart by a saw breaking and the blade flying in Gerrard's direction. And then, as I said, he inadvertently injured Gerrard by pushing him down (again, to save ) and giving him a head injury.
All in all, while there were some things that left me wanting for more (which is not unusual, there was a lot going on this episode), I did enjoy this episode. And it did, in my opinion, set up the rest of the season as something that was exciting and something that I'm looking forward to watch. I can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us.

Sequel to Who Is This Person Nine months after the catfishing incident and Sanji still can't catch a break. After a major arguement with Zoro on the night of his birthday, Zoro breaks it off entirely claiming to have found someone new. Sanji moves on and meets Charlotte Pudding, a popular food infulencer, whom he develops a superficial but pleasant relationship with. However, news gets around that Zoro goes missing and Sanji can't help but dig into what happened. read on ao3
authors note: Well shit. After my much-needed hiatus, I am back with a sequel to Who Is This Person? Sorry for the delay in this story, I tend to have a relationship with One Piece where I binge 200 episodes then don’t watch it for a year. A lot has happened recently. I had a mental breakdown, it was incredibly suicidal and I'm currently in recovery from that. The Counseller I'm seeing while I’m waiting for a diagnosis said I should go back to writing fanfiction (as my last happy period was when I started this account) I was also really into JJK for a while but I’m dwindling back into One Piece. Sorry, this is who I am XD Anyway, all that aside, I’m so excited to be working on this story again. I really enjoyed writing Who Is This Person so I’m here to give you all Misery.
Tumblr media
The buzzing of his phone brought Sanji into alertness. He had been pulling an all nighter studying for his exams and only the incessant beeping of his mobile device could bring him out of it. He looked at the clock seeing that it was two in the afternoon. He had slept in quite significantly.
A lot had happened since the so called ‘Zoey incident’. That was nearly a year ago now. Nine months exactly. In the aftermath, Sanji tried to move on with his life. He had a renewed sense of vigor about his ambitions and wanted to climb higher. Sanji had been nonstop pestering Zeff about being made a sous chef. See, he was fine with just being a regular chef, but he saw himself aiming a bit higher. Zeff...as always said no. The old man never directly said any of this, but he didn’t want Sanji to become tied down the Baratie. Again, Zeff never said this but always seemed to push Sanji to explore more options. He wanted him to aim higher than being here.
Culinary School seemed like the next step which...had kept him busy. Enrolling had kept him busy. Classes, assignments and then the practical tests seemed to consume his time more than working at the Baratie ever had. He sometimes almost forgot about nine months ago.
Almost
It took Sanji a few moments to wake up fully as he sat up in his bedroom. He still lived in the same place. He looked out of the window from where he was sitting. He didn’t intend on leaving his room today. But once he felt ready to see the message, he grabbed his yawn and with a big yawn and a stretch, he was ready to open the message. It was from Luffy. It had been a few days since he had seen Luffy.  He hadn’t been working nights, so he didn’t even get to see Luffy that way. Every now and then, Luffy will send messages begging for Sanji to close so he can come and take the food he used to almost a year ago.
L: SANJI
L: ANSWER ME
L: angryface angryface
L: WHERE ARE YOU?
And the rest of the messages were angry gifs and angry faces. Sanji watched them roll in. It seemed that Luffy had been trying to get a hold of him. It wasn’t long before Sanji replied.
S: Sorry I was asleep.
S: What do you want?
L: LMAO were you sleeping during the day?
S: Some of us are busy and work.
L: I WORK
S: Bothering Shanks at his job doesn’t count as work.
L: > : (
S: Okay. What did you message me for?
L: I need you at the Baratie! Tonight. 7.
S: I’m not working at 7 just for you to get freebies.
L: No no as like a not work thing?
L: YOU DON’T NEED TO WORK.
L Is what I’m tryingt o say
L: *trying to say*
L SANJI IT’S SO IMPORTANT PLEASE COME AT 7.
Sanji frowned, rubbing his eyes of the sleep that was still there. What did Luffy have to message him about a surprise for. He didn’t respond just yet. He stretched his muscles feeling all the tension in his back from sitting at the desk all night. Then, he replied.
S: Fine. I’ll be there.
Sanji tossed his phone to the side and then stood up. He shook off the remnants of sleep. Seeing as his plans of lazing were finished, he decided to have a shower. Just a quick shower before getting stressed and going into the kitchen where he made himself a strong cup of coffee. As the coffee machine hummed and the smell of Arabic coffee roamed in the kitchen, his mind began to drift as it often did when he was alone.
Zeff was right. He often was about these things. Going to school had broadened his horizons.  It challenged him on the way he thought about food. It had been good for him.
However, his mind often went back to one person and no matter how much he tried to forget, he still thought about him.
He made his cup of coffee and sat down at the table.
Zoro. Even just thinking about him made his stomach turn. Zoro and he had been incredibly rocky recently. From the outside, it looked as if Sanji and Zoro got on a lot more than they used to. They hung out alone. They went out for dinner. They would go home and hook up then Zoro would leave. However, Sanji still held him at arm's length. Any attempt Zoro made at deepening their relationship was batted away. Sanji didn’t want to deepen their relationship. They were friends with benefits and nothing more.
As much as he tried to, Sanji found it difficult to move past what happened. Nine months later. Sanji gripped his cup as resentment and confusion pinged inside of him. He took a long sip of his coffee as he felt brewed. As much as he tried to shake these thoughts, they always go back to the same thing. It bothered him – the fact that Zoro seemed to take up so much space in his mind.  Not even his exams took up this much space. The boundaries had been made clear; at least that was what Sanji told himself anyway. They were just friends with benefits. A little friendlier than before. A lot more complicated. The lines blurred in a way that Sanji couldn’t control. He hated it. Truely and utterly hated it.
Nine months. Nine months really should have been enough time to move on. However, whenever he closed his eyes at night. All he saw was Zoro.
With a frustrated sigh, Sanji put his cup on the table a little too forcefully, the clatter of porcelain and the glass table jarring him out of his thoughts. He needed to clear his head. Thinking about Zoro wasn’t helping. He had to figure out why Luffy was insistent on meeting up tonight but if he knew Luffy, it would be chaos which was very much a welcomed distraction.
As the day went on, Sanji decided to push the thoughts away and not acknowledge them anymore. He instead focused on trying to play a guessing game about what Luffy is planning. He laid out an outfit, opting into going for something that is casual but put together. After all, this was his home turf, the Baratie, even if he wasn’t working tonight. Old habits die hard.
As the day went on, the idea of Luffy planning a surprise took up his mind and he wasn’t thinking about Zoro anymore. It could be something endearing to outright disastrous, both ends of the spectrum Sanji had experienced time after another. By the time the evening rolled around, Sanji made his way down the stairs and there he was, standing in front of the restaurant. He pushed the doors open and noticed the quiet atmosphere. The evening rush had obviously not happened yet...which was weird for it being 7. He looked towards the kitchen and seen Zeff there, barking orders at the other chefs with his usual gruff demeanor.
“Oi. Old man,” Sanji called out as he looked through into the kitchen. Zeff glanced up, a brief look of surprise but then went to his usual gruff nature.
“Thought you were taking the night off, eggplant?”
“I was. Luffy said I needed to come by 7,” Sanji said, leaning against the counter.
“Oh. If it’s Luffy you are looking for, he’s around the corner,”
Sanji nodded before continuing to go around that way. However, once he got around the corner, he was meant by thunderous yelling.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY”
Oh yeah. It was his birthday today.
He was so busy with school that he must have...forgot. No, he didn’t forget. Who forgot their birthday? No, he just wanted to wait until he was a little less busy to celebrate his birthday. So, up till this point, he didn’t make too much of a big deal about it. He didn’t know how this translated into him getting a surprise birthday.
Sanji’s eyes scanned his friends. Nami, Usopp, Robin, Franky and of course, Luffy standing there. Luffy was grinning widely and bouncing with his usual excitement. A large cake decorated with bright icing. He recognized the cake; he had seen Zeff making it, but he had insisted it was an order for someone else. So, Zeff was also in on it. Huh.
“Luffy...” Sanji looked away, trying not so subtly to mask his embarrassment. When he looked elsewhere, he was Zoro. He was drinking a beer, as always. The sight of him made Sanji’s heart do weird shit so he looked back at Luffy, “You know I didn’t want to celebrate until I finished my exams...”
“Nonsense!” Luffy said, grabbing Sanji by the arm and pulling him towards his friends, “Everyone needs to celebrate their birthday properly,”
Sanji was pulled over to the table by Luffy who was determined to make sure that Sanji enjoyed his birthday with his friends surrounding him.
“You didn’t have to go all out,”
“This isn’t all out.” Luffy waved off his concerns with an infectious laughter.
Sanji couldn’t help but smile at Luffy’s infectious energy. He glanced at Zoro, still drinking beer pretending he was too cool for his birthday party.
Luffy’s excitement was appreciated though. He took a seat between Robin and Usopp. The cake was nearby. He couldn’t help but appreciate the effort.
“Still, you didn’t have to-”
“It’s not all out,” Luffy insisted with a grin, his eyes sparkling with that usual excitement. “We wanted to do something nice for you. Nami and Zoro helped quite a bit,”
Once again, his gaze went back to Zoro who was now avoiding his gaze. The mention of Zoro helping plan this seemed to catch Sanji off guard. He had to wonder how much Zoro contributed to the arrangement of this part. It made his chest feel rather tight which...was problematic to say the least.
He could not. He could not let his emotions ruin the night.
“I find it hard to believe that Zoro actually helped...” Sanji rolled his eyes, sitting back in his chair trying to give off an impression that he didn’t care, “It actually is thoughtful which makes me doubt it,”
Zoro shot him a look, still nursing his bear as his scowl deepened, “Yeah, well, don’t get used to it,” He muttered, although looking closely there could have been something of the smallest hint of a small very small smile, something soft that almost felt like fondness.
Even if Sanji tried to be indifferent, his mind felt like it was racing. Honestly, he didn’t know why but inside it felt like it pissed him off. These little, small meaningful gestures made it incredibly hard for Sanji to separate himself from Zoro. It made it easier to...forget about what happened. Sometimes, it felt like he could maybe ease up around Zoro.
Maybe...just maybe.
“Maybe next time, stick to what you are good at,” Sanji shook his head, “You know, heavy lifting and lack of direction,”
In front of everyone, their banter felt normal. It felt like things had never changed. It felt as if they had just moved on from their lives. However, Sanji felt a weird edge right now. Tension with unresolved feelings between them as he tries to still be indifferent.
Luffy, obviously oblivious to everything that was going on, laughed, “You two never change!” He said before grabbing another slice of cake. “But hey! At least the gang is here!”
Breaking eye contact with Zoro, his attention was back on Luffy. Luffy was right. This was a nice gesture from all three of them. It would be a shame to have it ruined by his own racing mind. He looked at Zoro who avoided his eyes.
“Yeah, you are right,” Sanji smiled, “I appreciate it...thank you,”
The rest of the evening passed in a blur of laughter, jokes and the comfort of being surrounded by friends. What Sanji didn’t know was that Zeff had closed the whole restaurant so that they could focus on Sanji’s surprise party. Amazing food came out as well as drinks and desserts. Luffy definitely had his fair share of food and Zoro had his fair share of drinks.
When desserts came out, Sanji excused himself and went outside. He needed to...collect his thoughts. He needed to think about things outside. When he was outside, he sat on the step of the door and lit up a cigarette. He was lost in his thoughts outside when the door opened.
“Are you okay?”
Thankfully, it wasn’t Zoro. It was Robin. Sanji exhaled a long plume of smoke. The orange glow of his cigarette lit up his face in the darkness. He didn’t immediately respond. He just let the silence speak for itself. Robin was...for better or worse, incredibly perceptive. She always had been. Sanji had heard that Robin had been...somewhat involved in the club that Zoro frequented...or used to.
“Yeah,” He said, although he wasn’t sure if he believed that and his voice lacked the conviction for her to believe him too, “Just needed a breather...”
Robin didn’t say anything immediately, but she did sit next to him. She allowed him another puff of his cigarette before speaking.
“It’s okay to feel overwhelmed, Sanji,” She said, her voice understanding but cautious as she didn’t wish to overstep, “Especially on nights like this. Birthdays can be...a time of reflection,”
Sanji took another drag as he watched the smoke curled into the night air, “I guess. I’m certainly in a reflective mood tonight,”
Robin nodded as she watched the smoke dissipate into the night air, “It’s understandable,” She said as her tone was gentle, “A lot has happened recently. It’s only human to be affected by what happened,”
Sanji shook his head with a very bitter chuckle, “I thought I moved on. I feel terrible... Luffy, Nami and... Zoro put a lot of effort into this and I... well, can’t help but think about things,”
Robin decided to let him talk rather than inject her own thoughts as her hands rested on her lap, looking out into the air. Her presence felt...so warming that he couldn’t help but talking even more.
“It’s like...you know, I tell myself that it doesn’t matter. I’m better off just focusing on my career and future but then,” Sanji gestured animatedly in the direction of the restaurant, “Zoro does something...stupidly kind... and I feel like those walls I’m trying to build up around him just...”
He realizes how it sounds and retracts slightly. Robin didn’t need to know every single detail of what was going on. He retracts and takes another puff of smoke, feeling even more bitter than he had done.
“It’s clear that Zoro has some sort of effect on you. It’s not easy to let events go...” Robin responded.
Sanji frowned. It wasn’t what he wanted to hear. He wanted her to call him a jerk but then again, that wasn’t like Robin. Robin was...perspective.
“Nine months. I’m still stuck,”
Robin turned her head slightly, “Moving on isn’t a linear process. Sometimes, it’s two steps forward and one step back,”
Sanji let out a sigh, running his hand through his hair. “But I don’t want to have these feelings. Zoro did the worst thing he could have done to be me ever and I can’t let it go. I just...want to let it go...” He clenched his fists, the frustration and bitterness simmering inside, “I hate him. I really really hate him but sometimes I don’t,” There was a beat of silence before Robin spoke up.
“Then, you need to talk to him about it. Make those boundaries clear or forgive him. Either way, holding onto it and hoping that it will go away, will only hurt yourself,”
His jaw tightened. He wanted to reject her advice and brush her off. He had gone for the past nine months without talking to him about it, but he knew that she was right. Holding onto this anger, this bitterness and it was bothering him. The truth was sinking in. Maybe it was time to decide. The thought made his stomach do funny things, but Robin was right; he couldn’t keep running from it forever. He had to face this head on.
“Thank you, Robin,” His voice softer, more sincere than it had been before, “I’ll think about what you’ve said,”
She gave a small nod before standing up.
“One step at a time,”
Sanji watched her get up and go back inside. Despite her being gone, her words echoed in his mind. He wasn’t sure what he was going to do now but for the first time in these past nine months, he felt like he had direction...he knew what he had to do.
He took the final drag of his cigarette before stubbing it out. With a deep breath, he stood up and turned back towards the door. The night was still young. His journey was not yet over, and it was like Robin said...
One step at a time.
The night went on for a couple more hours, nearly approaching midnight.  Everyone had a great time. The evening continued with laughter and conversation. Thankfully, Sanji’s mind felt more at ease as he joined the rest. Even if he had to decide what to do, it was enough peace to let him enjoy the rest of the night. As it approached a new day, the group's energy began to wane, and people began to leave. Robin and Franky, who were still a steadfast couple left together, Luffy and Usopp left with intentions of going back to Luffy’s and Nami left with the intention of spending the night with Vivi who she was still very much dating. As Sanji began to watch everyone leave, it left him alone...well...not exactly.
Sanji was assured by Zeff that he would handle the mess in the morning which had Sanji having his last cigarette of the night outside. He looked towards the stairs leading up to his apartment. He was about to turn and leave when he heard someone else leave the restaurant.
It was Zoro and they both looked at each other. Sanji continued to smoke, and Zoro watched him as if he wanted to say something, but didn’t so Sanji was the first one to speak.
“Wanna come up stairs? It’s a long way home,”
It was the nicest way of asking Zoro if he wanted to stay the night. Now that everyone else was gone, Sanji and Zoro could drop the acting.
“Sure. I didn’t want to walk home anyway,”
Sanji shook his head with a humorless laugh. His reply was gruff as usual but there was some warmth behind it. They stood there for a moment, the silence between them was thick with words they couldn’t say then.  It was tension that in the past nine months had become very familiar. It had begun to define their relationship...their very complicated relationship.
Once he was ready, he stubbed out his cigarette as his mind reeled from the advice he had been given by Robin. It couldn’t be put off any longer. Sanji had to do something about what was on his mind.
“Come on. Let’s go then,”
Zoro followed Sanji without a word. The quiet footsteps on the stairs were the only sound as they made their way up to Sanji’s apartment.
When they were inside, Sanji flickered on the light. There was a soft glow in a familiar space. Zoro looked around. He was unreadable. Maybe he could tell that change needed to happen too.
Sanji busied himself to begin with. He kicked his shoes off, tidied up a few items and the like as if to avoid talking to him. As normal, Zoro helped himself to a beer from the fridge and sat on the sofa, watching Sanji clean up.
“Are you okay?”
Sanji stopped what he was doing and looked at Zoro strangely. Was it that obvious?
“I’ve been in a reflective mood...” Sanji muttered, thinking about the conversation he had with Robin recently.
“Yeah?” Zoro said but more to prod more of an answer as if wanting to know Sanji’s thoughts but all it did was bring hesitation to the blond who stopped what he was doing and sat on the chair across from the sofa, away from Zoro. The familiar tension felt strange.
“Yeah...” Sanji’s voice was low as he leaned back in his chair.
Zoro’s expression remained stoic but there was a flicker of something on his face, but it was unreadable. Sanji didn’t know whether Zoro was also feeling reflective or if he had no idea what he was talking about. Either way, Sanji leaned forward.
“I keep telling myself that I hate you. I really do hate you. Yet, when you do things like what you did tonight with Nami and Luffy...” Sanji ran his hand through his hair, “It pisses me off because you do these kind decent little things and then I don’t know how I feel...”
Zoro didn’t say anything. What could he say? They’ve been over this countless times. No matter how many times they ended up in each other's room or have these little meet ups, they still go around in circles talking about nine months ago. Neither of them was over it nor honestly, no one could be blamed.
“I hate you for this. I really do...”
Zoro looked directly at Sanji, “I don’t blame you,”
Sanji’s breath caught. That was it. Zoro accepted it with bluntness, and it caught him off guard entirely. He had expected an argument, maybe a gruff retort but instead, Zoro accepted it.
And that just annoyed him even more. It was suffocating and yet, this was the most honest that they had been with each other this whole time.
“I don’t want to keep going around in these circles,” Sanji’s voice was strained, “But I don’t think I can move forward...the way that things are going,”
“You think I haven’t tried? That I don’t want to try and move on?” Zoro responded, clutching his beer like an anchor, “Do you think I haven’t suffered from this too? I know nothing I can say will make you accept what’s going on...”
“Then why do we keep doing this? Why help with the party? Why do you keep coming back to my place? Why?”
There was a beat of silence. Sanji had clenched his fists so hard that specs of blood appeared on the palm of his hand, but it didn’t hurt. He had bigger fish to fry right now, and it was all about Zoro.
And Zoro just continued to stare at him. He settled his beer down on the table and leaned forward, as if trying to close the distance between them, “Because...” He began, his voice lower and more measured than normal, “No matter how much we hate each other and no matter how much we hurt each other, I cannot stay away from you. You think I enjoy this? That I love how much of a mess we are?”
And that felt like an honest admission from Zoro. Something that Sanji could not honor in return as he scowled, “Then why the hell are we doing this? If you can’t stay away and I can’t let it go, then what the hell are we doing here?”
And there it was again. That silence showed that neither of them knew the answer. Those raw feelings just bubbled below the surface.
“I don’t know,” Zoro sighed, “I don’t know okay,” His voice low and rough, “I don’t have the answer, but I wish I did but I don’t,”
Sanji scowled and pinched the bridge of his nose, “I can’t keep doing this with you,”
“You don’t have to,” Zoro said, standing up as if something finally snapped, “No one is forcing you to do this. Maybe we should stop seeing each other,” Sanji’s heart clenched at those words even though a part of him had been expecting this conclusion. He had thought about this countless times before, about what it meant if they did cut ties and moved on. Yet, hearing Zoro vocalize it, made it real.
“Is that what you want?” Sanji didn’t stand up. He looked up at Zoro who looked as if he was about to leave, as if he’d had enough.
Zoro hesitated but the tension in the room pushed him to talk about it, “You’ve made it clear. You can’t do this anymore. So, you don’t have to. I’m giving you an out,”
Sanji took a deep breath as if trying to steady himself. Everything felt as if it was crumbling around him, and he was grasping to give himself some normality. But maybe it was too late. Maybe this was the new normal. Everything felt already broken.  A wave of emotions crashed around him as a mix of anger and sadness. Zoro’s words were logical and to the point. He was giving Sanji an out and that was logical, but it was a punch in the gut after everything they had been through.
This was the exact moment he had feared and wanted.
“You are giving me an out?” Sanji stood up, shaking his head in disbelief and frustration, “Like it’s that simple? Like walking away will finish all of this?”
Zoro clenched his jaw, “Maybe it is that simple, Sanji. Maybe we are making it more difficult than it had to be,”
It was the moment he had to decide. Sanji’s heart raced and for a moment, he just couldn’t find the words. What did he want?
“I think you are right,” Sanji said. Maybe he was right. Maybe they needed to stop. “Maybe walking away will help,”
Zoro nodded, his face unreadable but he looked towards the door and then back to him, “I agree. I will leave you alone then...” His words hung in the air, heavy and final. The silence that followed it was suffocating and filled with things that they didn’t even get a chance to say. Finally, there was an end to this unrelenting cycle.
For a moment, time stopped. By the time that Sanji realized that time’s arrow marched forward, Zoro opened the door and was gone. The blonde stood there frozen. So that was it. Zoro had walked out of his life as if it was nothing. He had wanted this – to end this cycle but now that it had happened, Sanji felt hollow. He clenched his fists again, realizing the pain of cuts on his hand but it was nothing compared to the pain in his chesrt. Nine months. He’d put up with this for nine months and for what? What did he have to show for it?
Instead of relief, he felt loss.
He sat on the sofa, the exhaustion of the night caught up on him. He rubbed his face, noticing the wetness on his cheeks.
One step at a time.
But what was the next step? What did he do next? How did you move on now?
Sanji leaned back on the sofa, reaching for his lighter and cigarettes. He lit one up and stared at the ceiling. He had made his choice, now he had to live with it. Maybe that’s how it was supposed to end.
One step at a time.

UMINEKO X DRAWTECTIVES: OGALVY AND MARIA, YORK AND BATTLER
I have much to say, so sorry in advance for the length!
I was rewatching some of Drawtectives before attending one of the NezumiVA Umineko streams and I thought it would be fun to cross the two over! They're both mystery "games" but with vastly different tones and settings.
The first drawings I sketched aren't even the ones finished here but I'm sure I'll get to them soon enough. The one I started lining first was Ogalvy and Maria, or specifically Piss Boy and Sakutaro! They're cuddlie~ I even had my own Piss Boy plush next to me while drawing fo reference! I think Maria just deserves good things and she'd be such good friends with Ogalvy, I had them doing drawings together. The outfit swap was also fun, though a little tricky with how cartoony Ogalvy is. Maria's clothes were a bit tricky to put on him, but I like the way it turned out! Also proud of the facial expressions, hope I got the right kind of "enthusiastic to the point where you don't even smile, you're just totally focused and excited".
York and Battler got compared to each other a while back so I thought they'd be good to draw together, and I love the idea of Battler being a goofy bi disaster. Not only that but given how him being tall is mentioned repeatedly, I wanted to bring in the energy I feel whenever I see someone taller than me. I basically just hardcore projected onto Battler is what I'm saying.
The outfit swap part was a lil tricky but still fun, since York has two key design traits: he keeps on his armband with his outfits and he can't wear sleeves. "The technology just doesn't exist". I took off the sleeves of Battler's outfit, but I still decided to swap the armband around, mainly because the part of York's arm it would go on was geometrically confusing and I didn't want to draw attention to that. The hair was also fun to swap. Battler looks like that one rando from Overwatch and I'm not sorry, but I'm not proud either. It does still look nice to me.
OK! That's the process explained! And now: a call to action.
Hey, peeps on the YouTube stream and on the Umineko tag: you should watch Drawtectives! It's a fun and silly mystery series! There is murder in it but it's still lighthearted for the most part, it's got charming characters, and season 3 is on the horizon! You could catch up pretty easily in time for it to start and have a gay ol time!
Hey, peeps on the Drawtectives tag waiting for season 3: you should read Umineko! It's an incredibly engaging and emotional mystery series! It's got a massive cast with lots of character depth and many puzzles to solve! It's on Steam (but please don't use the new sprites they made they're so much worse than the OG sprites, switch to them), a few other places too, and I'm pretty sure there's even a Kindle Port, but I've been enjoying the readthrough by the delightful NezumiVA!
We've got a really nice community of people who've read it before and people like us who don't know what's going on there. It is a bit longer than Drawtectives I'm afraid but it may not take too long to get caught up on the playlist. Nezumi's also pretty good at warning for the more sensitive content in the Novel which is always a big help. Only thing I'd watch out for is some gorey stuff toward the end of episode 2, which isn't even visually depicted.
OK! I think that's everything I needed to say! Comms open as per usual and have a lovely day!

New @somewhereohio was MARVELOUS this week I love hearing more of what Orange is doing and the editing that brought that section to life was incredible. I also just love that all of season 2 so far has been dipshit teen shenanigans underscored with horror. Its excellent
This week's @woebegonepod was absolutely phenomenal it went back and forth between making me feel emotional to making me laugh and then the ENDING gods no one is doing it like Dylan woe.begone is. There is a cw for gore and it comes in a way I did not expect but in a wild way
Episode 3 of the Grotto and Athan has once again just. Knocked it out of the park. Between the music for this show and the incredible voice acting that's involved and the *mystery* of it all, The Grotto is quickly becoming a favorite of mine and yall should listen
And I would be remiss if I didnt give one last plug for @souloperatorpod which starts TOMORROW for patrons on their patreon and next week for everyone. Tot has put so much work into this and yall are gonna love it. Im incredibly proud of Tot and can't wait to see her blow yall away

Chapter Ten - The Fisher King: Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: FBI agent Leila faces a profound life change after giving birth to a baby girl, supported by her loving husband. Despite the challenges of motherhood, Leila returns to her role as a dedicated agent a few months later, ready to confront gruesome and haunting cases with the BAU team.
Pairing: BAU!Fem!OC x Male!OC , EVENTUAL Aaron Hotchner x BAU!Fem!OC (Like much later)
Warnings: This story contains mature themes such as sexual content, strong language, violence, mentions of alcohol and drugs, blood, gore, and death. All the usual Criminal Minds stuff. And there is NO CHEATING.
Note 1: I imagine Leila Kade as South Asian but I have decided to let you, the reader, imagine her appearance, hence the reason why I have not given her a face claim. However, her race does not affect the story, whatsoever. You, as the reader, are free to imagine her however you want. If you don't see her as South Asian, then that's fine. It won't affect the storyline. I also imagine the OC!Male as South Asian, but again, it won't affect the storyline.
Note 2: The team will consist of the main cast (Emily, Derek, JJ, Spencer, Penelope, Aaron, and Rossi) but will also include Elle Greenaway and Jason Gideon because they were some of my favorite characters and I wanted to include them with the rest of the team. Basically, Elle and Gideon never leave when Emily and Rossi join.
Note 3: There will be multiple time skips throughout this series. For example, the first chapter will begin on the first season and episode of the show but then there will be a time skip to later episodes (because there are obviously way too many episodes to write this series on and I wanted to include specific episodes that would help the plot of this story). This means that this series will be a slow burn romance but I believe it to be better this way. This will also stray from the actual show a lot, so don't expect it to follow the plot precisely.

Season 1, Episode 22
Leila's excitement peaked upon learning that she would finally enjoy a long and refreshing break from work. Aaron's decision to grant the entire team two weeks off filled her with anticipation. All she could think about was being able to devote her undivided attention to her family without the burden of a new case weighing on her mind.
As she ensured she had everything she needed from her office packed into her bag, she let out a sigh of relief. Rushing out of her office, she almost accidentally collided with Aaron, who had also just emerged from his own office.
"Hey, ready to leave?" Aaron's bright smile greeted her. It was the happiest Leila had seen him at work, and she couldn't help but feel that this break was the best thing to happen to them in a long time.
"Two weeks with no contact from this place? It's like a dream come true," Leila said giddily as they descended the steps. "And now it sounds like I hate my job."
Aaron chuckled, reaching the last step. "I don't blame you. It's nice to finally have some time away from here." As they approached their cubicles, they noticed Elle and Derek. "Hey, don't knock family. I'm going to get nothing but for the next 336 hours," Aaron remarked.
Derek hummed with a smile on his face. "Good for you."
"Haley's got a list of chores a mile long and I can't wait," Aaron exclaimed excitedly. "The biggest decision I gotta make is what I'm gonna do first."
"I bet she has a thought or two about that as well," Elle responded, sharing a grin of her own.
"Bring it on," Aaron said loudly, walking away from them.
"Bye guys, have fun!" Leila waved goodbye, rushing out the doors.
"Thank you, Grace. Please enjoy the next two weeks off," Leila expressed her gratitude, cradling Jasmine as the little baby babbled happily. "You're the best."
Grace returned her appreciation with a warm smile, gently patting Jasmine's head before bidding them farewell. "You three enjoy your two weeks off. You guys really deserve it."
"You're the sweetest, drive safe!" Leila called out as she watched Grace leave the house. She then looked down at Jasmine, who was still babbling away. "Let's wait for daddy to come home from work, and then we can have lots of fun, okay sweetie?"
A few moments later, Leila heard the garage door open, indicating Zaid was home. As soon as he walked in, Leila rushed over to him, still holding Jasmine. "There's my two gorgeous girls, come here," he greeted warmly, wrapping his arms around Leila, being careful of Jasmine in her arms. "Both mommy and daddy have two weeks off from work, so we're going to make the most out of it, alright Jas?"
When Leila had told Zaid that she was getting two weeks off from the BAU, he didn't hesitate to take some time off from his job as well, wanting to spend as much time with his family as possible. "Mhm, and I know a few ways we can spend it," Leila grinned, giving him a quick peck on the lips. Zaid winked before gently taking Jasmine from her arms, twirling her around as Jasmine giggled joyfully.
After dinner and some playtime with Jasmine and her favorite toys, Leila and Zaid finally settled their baby down for the night. Ensuring she was comfortable, they quietly exited her room. As they left, Zaid playfully grabbed Leila's waist, causing her to squeal a bit too loudly. He quickly covered her mouth with his hand. "Shh, you're going to wake her, honey."
She scoffed, gently pushing him away before turning to face him. "Well, then don't give me a reason to scream."
Realizing what she had just said, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as Zaid began to chuckle, his hands coming up to gently cup her face. "I think you're underestimating me, love," he teased affectionately.
Leila rolled her eyes before Zaid leaned down to capture her lips with his own. He pushed her against the wall, his hands reaching for their own bedroom door before opening it and pushing her inside. Zaid swiftly picked her up, Leila wrapping her legs around his waist as they fell onto the bed.
Their lips continued to move against each other while Zaid tugged at her shirt, his hands moving under it to touch her skin. Leila hummed against his lips as he tugged at his hair. "You gotta be quiet for me, honey. You can do that, can't you?" Zaid muttered against her skin, detaching his lips from hers to move down her neck. She tried to speak but couldn't, her mind focused on the pleasure he was giving her. Instead, she nodded her head. "Good girl," he chuckled, and the two fell into a world of pleasure soon after.
The ringing of the phone in the middle of the night jolted Leila from her slumber. She lay on top of Zaid, his arms encircling her, and her frustration grew as the phone persisted. With a groan, she reluctantly reached out to the nightstand, not bothering to check the Caller ID before answering. "Agent Kade," she mumbled into the phone, trying her hardest not to fall back asleep.
"Agent Kade..." the voice on the other end spoke, but Leila was too tired to register whose voice it was. "You need to focus on what truly matters. There's someone in danger, someone who needs your help. There have been many destroyed relationships in the family, don't get lost in the details. Remember, everything starts at the beginning. Time is of the essence, and the youngest holds the key. You must find a way to save her. Can you do it, Leila? Can you be the hero she needs? Can you finally do what's right?"
Leila furrowed her eyebrows as her eyes shot wide open, sitting up on the bed, still holding the phone against her ear. "Who's speaking? What are you talking about?" The sudden change in Leila's demeanor caused Zaid to become worried, who had awoken after she picked up the phone.
"Save her before it's too late," the voice said once more before the line cut off.
"Who was that?" Zaid asked with concern, his eyes scanning his wife's face.
She looked at him with furrowed eyebrows, shaking her head. "I have no idea."
Leila glanced towards their bedroom door and swiftly rose, hurrying to Jasmine's room, with Zaid close on her heels. Relief flooded her as she laid eyes on her sleeping baby, Leila's fingers instinctively clutching the crib's bars. Zaid approached, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder, prompting her to look up at him. "What's going on?" he asked, concern etched in his voice.
She swallowed hard, stealing one last glance at Jasmine before guiding Zaid out of the room. Leaning against the hallway wall, she crossed her arms tightly. "I just got a really strange call. Some guy insisted that I have to find a way to save a 'her.'"
"Her? Which her?" Zaid asked, his eyebrows furrowed with concern.
"That's what I don't know," Leila replied, exhaling heavily and shaking her head. "But there was something else." Zaid nodded, encouraging her to continue. Leila took a shaky breath before speaking. "He said something about a family, Zaid."
His confusion deepened, knitting his eyebrows together. "What do you mean?" he questioned, seeking clarification.
Leila pursed her lips, pinching the bridge of her nose. "He said that there have been many destroyed relationships in the family and proceeded to finish off by asking if I can finally do what's right." As soon as those words left Leila's lips, Zaid's eyes widened in shock. "There's no way, right?"
Zaid shook his head, gently rubbing her back in reassurance. "I'm sure it was just a prank call, honey. Don't worry." Despite his comforting words, Leila couldn't shake off the unease that settled in her mind. Her heart skipped a beat when the phone rang again, causing her to jump in fear. "Hey, it's okay. I'll answer this time, okay?" Zaid offered, his voice calm and soothing as he grabbed the phone. He answered the phone and listened intently to the person on the other end. Nodding in acknowledgment, he glanced over at Leila, who still wore a concerned expression. "Yeah, she's right here," he said into the phone before handing it over to her, silently mouthing that it was Aaron who called.
Leila furrowed her eyebrows, her concern growing as she brought the phone to her ear. "Hey," she answered, waiting for Aaron to speak.
"I just got a call from Derek," Aaron spoke, his voice tense. "The Jamaican police arrested Elle for a suspected murder."
"What?" Leila exclaimed, her voice tinged with shock.
"I honestly thought it was just a stupid prank call, but he called you too?" Leila asked in disbelief. "And now Elle has been arrested. What the hell is going on, Aaron?"
As the two FBI agents were en route to Jamaica to meet with Derek and Elle, they learned that Elle had been framed for a murder. The authorities had discovered a blood trail leading to her room at the resort where she and Derek were vacationing. The victim had been decapitated, making identification impossible thus far. Aaron ensured to bring in bureau lawyers and a crime scene unit as they didn't know what they were dealing with.
"I don't know," Aaron sighed, rubbing his temple. "So much for two weeks off." The two sat across from each other in the jet, grappling with the unfolding situation. Leila was certain that Elle was being framed. It was out of character for her to commit such a crime. "You didn't have to come, you know?" Aaron remarked.
Leila rolled her eyes. "Like hell I wouldn't." Aaron couldn't help but smile, chuckling softly at her response. Leila tilted her head, narrowing her eyes in confusion. "Why are you laughing?" she asked, puzzled by his reaction.
He shook his head, reassuring her that it wasn't bad. "You're a good friend," he affirmed, knowing that she would always stick up for everyone on the team no matter what. "We're all lucky to have someone like you on this team."
Her lips turned up into a smirk, laughing at his response. "Aw, Aaron. Don't get so sappy on me," she teased. "It's not good for your image." The comment made Aaron roll his eyes.
They soon arrived in Jamaica, driving to where Elle was currently detained. Upon meeting up with Derek, he explained everything to them to the best of his ability. Once they arrived at the location, the three of them walked into the room where Elle was being questioned. Aaron presented evidence to the investigator, proving that Elle was not even present when the murder occurred. Reluctantly, the investigator handed over the keys to unlock Elle's handcuffs.
They left the room, and Leila immediately enveloped Elle in a tight hug, relieved to see her freed from the unjust ordeal. "Are you okay, Elle?" Leila asked, gently rubbing her back in comfort.
Elle pulled back slightly to answer, her expression a mixture of confusion and exhaustion. "I don't even know what the hell just happened."
The four of them walked away, ready to depart for Quantico, eager to find out what was going on and who was sending them strange messages.
Once back at Quantico, they were informed that the headless victim's head had been sent to Gideon. The victim, identified as Marty Harris, had been rooming with a man named Frank Giles at the resort. Giles was revealed as the murderer but had fled Jamaica, prompting a search. Meanwhile, the unsettling individual who had called Leila on the phone had been sending cryptic messages to the entire team, repeatedly urging them to save a girl.
"So, clearly we have a psychopath intent on drawing us into his game," Aaron stated, the team gathered in the conference room, attempting to piece everything together.
"Playing with us," Gideon finished, his tone grave.
Elle chimed in with determination. "Then let's return the favor."
"He kept telling us repeatedly to save her. What 'her'?" Derek questioned, his brow furrowed in frustration.
Gideon pondered for a moment. "The items he's sent must be some kind of clues."
"We should put them all up on the board, then," Leila suggested, prompting Aaron to nod in agreement. JJ grabbed a marker to start writing on the board.
"I got a Nellie Fox baseball card from 1963 and I got a head in a box," Jason began.
"I got a rare butterfly in a shadow box," JJ spoke, turning her head towards the team before she turned back around to write the clues onto the board.
"And repeated messages to 'save her,'" Aaron added.
"He called me and said that 'There have been many destroyed relationships in the family,'" Leila retorted, shaking her head, her initial thoughts when she first heard the message gone from her mind. "Whatever that's supposed to mean."
"I got the decapitated body," Elle said, walking back and forth in the room with her arms crossed. "And a nice visit to the Jamaican Police Headquarters."
"Reid called from Nevada," Gideon informed them. "He's on the way back here with a skeleton key and a note he got, too."
"And the guy who called me said, 'The youngest one holds the key,'" Aaron finished off.
Elle raised an eyebrow and shrugged. "That's Reid."
"Okay, but wait a minute. UnSubs, they don't contact us this way," Derek began, shaking his head. "I mean, they might taunt us, dare us to catch them, but they don't drag us into their fantasy."
JJ turned to look at Derek, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion. "Why not?"
"Because they're sexual fantasies," Derek responded, waving his hand. "I mean, taunting us is a show of power, but making us the object is…" he paused, shrugging, before clasping his hands together. "I don't know what the hell that is."
"There's something else about the baseball card," Gideon started to say. "Nellie Fox was one of the stars of the 1959 White Sox. I went to almost every game with my father that year. Fox was my hero." Leila tilted her head, her mouth slightly parted as she tried to comprehend everything. "So is it a coincidence that he sends this to me, or does he know how I feel about him?"
The little story made JJ pause, turning her head back around towards the team when she realized something. "I collected butterflies when I was a little girl. That's how I knew what butterfly was in the box."
Derek tilted his head. "So then he knows us?"
"I got an anonymous message," Aaron said, shooting down the possible idea.
"I got a police raid," Elle added.
"And I got––" Leila paused, her breath catching in her throat for a moment, everyone else in the room staring at her before she continued. "I got a random phone call in the middle of the night. So I guess not."
"But he knew exactly where we were," Derek continued, paying no mind to the sudden hesitation in Leila's voice. She let out a silent breath of relief, but her eyes locked with Gideon's, the older man staring at her as if she was hiding something. She quickly looked away as Derek continued to talk. "Hotel in Jamaica, Gideon at the cabin, Reid in Vegas, you two at your homes."
Suddenly, a certain blonde walked into the room, her expression somber. "He got that from the Bureau computers. Your locations are always logged in there so they can locate you if necessary," Penelope informed them, holding a piece of paper in her hand. The team turned their attention to her, urging her to continue. "And I checked the log. The hacker was definitely in the personnel folders. There were room numbers for the hotel in Jamaica, the address of Gideon's cabin... There's a lot of information in those databases."
Aaron, maintaining his usual stoic demeanor, questioned her. "Have you figured out how he was able to breach the Bureau's computers?"
Penelope swallowed hard, her voice trembling. "I'm still working on that."
The team noticed the tremor in her voice, sensing that she was holding something back, a realization that struck Leila as hypocritical, given that she was doing the same. "Garcia, if you know something…" Aaron prompted, his tone firm.
"No, it's, um…It's just…I…" she stuttered, struggling to articulate her thoughts. "I was playing a game yesterday. An online game."
Gideon raised his head. "A game?"
Penelope quickly interjected to clarify. "Not on the Bureau computers, sir. On my own personal laptop."
Derek sighed, leaning forward. "No, Garcia. No, no, no."
"I don't understand," Aaron said, clearly puzzled. Leila released a breath, realizing the implications. She knew Penelope didn't mean any harm, but she couldn't help but pinch the bridge of her nose.
"Wireless Internet," Derek explained succinctly.
"By wirelessly hooking into the Net here to get online, the hacker could have accessed my computer first, and I have far less protection on my own laptop," Penelope clarified.
"And he could have infiltrated the entire Bureau computer system this way?" Aaron inquired, his brow furrowed and his arms still crossed.
"Yeah, it's possible," Penelope confirmed solemnly.
"Playing a game?" Gideon shrugged, standing up from his seat. "How could you be that stupid? Information, files. You have a responsibility," he said frustratedly, and Leila noticed the hurt on Penelope's face.
"I know, sir. I'm so sorry," Penelope apologized, her voice breaking. The team looked at her with sympathy, but then she spoke again. "But I found him."
"You what?" Elle questioned, disbelief evident in her tone.
"I know who he is, the hacker. His name is Giles. Frank Giles," she rushed out, unfolding the paper in her hand. They all looked at each other as soon as she revealed the name, their eyes widening. "He lives in Arlington, Virginia, four miles from here. I have his address."
Leila stepped forward. "Garcia, you said Giles?" she asked, seeking clarification.
They soon went to Giles' address to apprehend him, only to find him murdered in his room, stabbed with a sword. A chilling note, written in his blood, adorned the wall, stating, 'Here thy quest doth truly begin.'
Searching his room for any clues, they discovered a bag of money on his dresser. They assumed that Giles had carried out the murder of Harris as instructed by the unsub, who, in turn, rewarded him with money. However, the unsub had turned on Giles, ultimately killing him. The unsub continuously left them clues, using language reminiscent of the medieval times.
They found a CD the unsub left for them, watching it once they got back to the BAU. He named them one by one, including pictures of them, making it clear that only the team was to complete the 'quest.' Despite the unsub's instructions to exclude anyone but themselves from the case, Gideon was adamant about holding a press conference.
After the press conference, they continued to sift through the clues. Leila glanced over and noticed that Elle had fallen asleep on the couch. "Someone's really tired," she remarked, her gaze fixed on Elle's sleeping form.
"Can you blame her?" Derek questioned, giving Leila a sympathetic look. "She hasn't slept for thirty-six hours."
Aaron entered the room and immediately noticed Elle asleep on the couch. "Elle?" he called out.
The brunette quickly shot up. "I'm awake."
"I'm sending you home," Aaron told her firmly.
"No," Elle sighed, resisting.
"You need to get some rest, and we won't do anything without you," Aaron reassured her.
"Elle, seriously," Derek spoke up. "We're not any closer than we were. Get out of here. Go home."
"But––"
"It's an order." Aaron gave her a pointed look.
Elle turned to look at Leila, who nodded in agreement. "You need to sleep, Elle. Go home and recharge, you'll feel so much better."
With a defeated breath, Elle stood up from her spot on the couch and walked away with Aaron. Leila, Derek, and Spencer continued to work on the case, but nothing seemed to be coming to mind. Leila's eyes focused on the rows of numbers on the paper the unsub had sent them. The unsub told them that they needed a specific book to decode the message, but they were unsure of which book to use.
Leila ran a hand over her face, massaging her temples as she felt another headache coming on. She stood up from her chair to take a break, letting the team know that she would be back after a few minutes. Exiting the room, she headed towards her office but then noticed Haley with Jack in the stroller sitting in Aaron's office. She was only here because the unsub dropped off a note at their home.
Knocking on the door, she heard a faint "come in" and she walked inside. She gave Haley a warm smile as she hugged her. "You look really tired, Leila. Are you doing okay?"
Leila chuckled, nodding. "This unsub is really kicking our butts right now. We still feel like we're getting nowhere with all of this."
Haley gave her a sympathetic smile, putting a hand on her shoulder. "It's okay, you guys will eventually figure this out, just like you always do." Leila returned the smile, but then her eyes moved over to the stroller. "Jack's still asleep. Aaron told us to stay here until it's safe."
"And he made the right call," Leila responded. "I'm going to get back. I just needed a small break from being in that small room."
"Of course, I'll see you later, Leila." Haley waved goodbye as Leila exited Aaron's office. Leila decided to walk to her office and try her best to think of anything that could help.
She sat in her chair, her mind drifting to Elle, who was likely already sleeping in the comfort of her own home by now. She felt a pang of sympathy for her best friend, knowing everything she had endured over the past day, from being arrested to the unsettling games the unsub was playing with them. She was relieved that Elle had finally gone home to get some rest.
Yet, despite this, she couldn't shake off the strange feeling that something was about to happen.

Note
It hasn't even been a week and I already have so many thoughts for what I'd like to see next season lol.
1. I think the search for Gabriel's killer should be left until the second half bc it would be way more satisfying to end the season with that.
2. I'd like to see Tarlos just being married. I'm not saying that there can't be some kind of drama but have them face it together. They've had so much growth this season I would like to see that continue rather than just more miscommunication now that they're actually married.
3. Have the first few episodes focus on Judd and the Ryders and how the 126 is affected by Judd not being there. Have some focus on Wyatt's recovery and how that affects his and Judd's relationship. Maybe have some scenes with TK and Judd. I think this would be a good opportunity for that.
4. This would also be a good opportunity to explore dual-certified TK more. Have him filling in for Judd on some cases.
5. Actually more of the usual rescues. I feel like we didn't get a lot of those this season.
6. More light-hearted episodes. This season was darker than any of the others and I think next season should return to having more light-hearted episodes.
7. Bring Iris back. We could see more of her friendship with Carlos. Also, have her and TK interact. Iris obviously sees a kinship with TK and I think it would be cool to explore that. Plus it would be great comedy to have two of them getting up to shenanigans and driving Carlos crazy.
7. Bring TK into the Robert storyline and see him and Owen interact. Along with that, see how it affects their relationship with Robert's family since Owen helped Robert die is likely going to be revealed. Explore Owen's grief and how it triggers his trauma over Tyler and have him and TK talk about that. And explore TK's feelings since he was so excited to get to know his cousins.
8. More of the other couples. I want to see more of Paul and Asha and learn more about Paul's background through that. And see Marjan and Yusef develop. And Nancy and Mateo. Maybe they have some conflict and we get to actually see them being a real couple beyond a few cute moments.
8. Maybe see TK thinking about his faith more. Maybe a rescue makes him think about it and he contemplates returning to temple. And with that, have Marjan exploring her faith more now that she's with a Muslim partner that she chose for herself. All respect but I think it's time that the non-Christian characters got a little more focus.
9. Have Carlos and Andrea talk about how Carlos’s relationship with Gabriel hurt him and have her actually listen instead of invalidating it. Have him tell her how much it hurts that Gabriel was so distant with him for most of his life and how he died before they could actually have a better relationship. Maybe have him talk to his sisters too. It's possible that they just don't get how hard it was for Carlos bc they have different memories of Gabriel and they weren't there when Carlos came out so they don't know just how bad it was.
10. Have the season end with them catching Gabriel's killer. Maybe Carlos decides to become a detective. He's obviously going to be involved in the search somehow but have him do it right instead of him getting obsessed and going off on his own which would also show the growth he had this season.
I know this is a lot lol. But these are just some thoughts I had. I just hope that the strike can end soon so we won't have to wait too long
Look at you with so many coherent thoughts!!!! I am still reeling and can’t even begin to have ideas like this yet but I would be into every one of these. Maybe Tim is lurking 👀👀👀

Summer is almost over, which means the holiday season and festive movies are right around the corner. Personally, I can't wait for GAF, Hallmark and more to premiere their line-up of films on the 2024 TV schedule, and I'm excited to see all the fun pairings that come with them. For example, Candace Cameron Bure is lining up her Christmas movie schedule, and I can't wait to see what she has in store. However, now one Dancing With the Stars pro is throwing his hat in the ring for a future film with her, and I actually kind of need it.
Since Bure moved from Hallmark to GAF, she’s been hard at work, cementing her place at her new network and living her dream of making faith-centered movies. That means she's making sure that GAF’s Christmas lineup, which was just revealed, is filled to the brim. However, after Bure shared the happy news on her Instagram, long-time Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy couldn’t help but ask in the comments if he could be in her next project:
Can I be in the next one?? 🙋🏻‍♂️
I never pictured Chmerkovskiy doing a Christmas movie, but now that he’s expressed interest, I need it.
Bure competed on Dancing With the Stars in 2014, and while she was not partnered with Chmerkovskiy, it seems like the two have remained close since then. They both made it to the end of the season, with Chmerkovskiy coming in first with Meryl Davis and Bure in third with Mark Ballas.
Now, if they were to do a film together, it would give them the chance to be dance partners, assuming said project would be centered around dancing.
It should also be pointed out that while Maksim Chmerkovskiy is a dancer, he can also act. He actually cameoed on Fuller House, appearing in two episodes alongside Candace Cameron Bure. He also was in episodes of Why Women Kill, Chasing Life, General Hospital, and The Exes, among a few others. So, I can see him doing a Christmas movie, and having it be with Bure would be even better.
It's never too early to start thinking about the Christmas slate for next year, even if this year’s hasn’t even started yet. Filming for those movies starts pretty early, so it’s likely ideas are already being thrown around the writers’ room. Since the DWTS pro wants to be in the next one, and Bure would probably be down to do it, it’s always a possibility. It might just have to depend on the storyline and schedules, but hopefully, we'll get to see them on screen together!
In the meantime, GAF and Hallmark have plenty of upcoming movies to look forward to, and their holiday schedules are sure to be packed. Bure will be leading two of GAFs Christmas flicks, A Christmas Less Traveled and Home Sweet Christmas. While premiere dates have not been announced, they're sure to bring the holiday cheer.
As for Dancing with the Stars, Maksim Chmerkovskiy probably won't return, as he told Heavy a few years ago he was done. However, you can watch all the other pros on ABC or with a Hulu subscription when it returns on September 17.
When it comes to this dream movie between the dancer and the holiday movie queen, let's just cross our fingers and hope it happens, because I need it and I think everyone else does too.

Ideas pt 14/headcanons for the O'hair twins! Blue=concpets Pink=episode ideas Green=notes
Here are MORE IDEAS if EAH ever got a reboot. But this post is special... IT'S ALL ABOUT THE O'HAIR TWINS!
Note: I haven't seen any of the web episodes but I have seen the show! So don't judge if I get something wrong! ALSO I thought that the long-hair twin was Poppy and the other Holly. And I personally like my way better. So yeah. Check out my ideas pt 12 post since this is kind of a continuation.
Ok so I know that everyone thought that she was the older twin so that meant that she was the next Rapunzel but in the web episode their grandma tells them that Holly is older by a hair lol and that she's TECHNICALLY the next Rapunzel but she doesn't want to be so it's a family secret kind of thing.
I feel Holly wouldn't want to come to Ever After High knowing that she has no destiny and sees no point. But over the summer it's all Poppy can talk about. She's so excited! And tries to convince Holly all summer to come with her. "Maybe you'll find something you'll like! You could discover that you do have your own destiny!" "I'm sorry Poppy but you know that's not true. You're older. There's only so much destiny to go around. And I doubt I'll find something that will spark my interest so much that I'll suddenly 'write my own destiny'. " "But I would hate to be away from you for so long!" "It's ok Poppy!" *smiles* "I'll be ok here home-schooled." (I feel the twins would be home-schooled for some reason) "No way! If you're not going then I'm not going!" WHAT! No! Poppy I-" "Nope!" *plops down on her bed and crosses her arms* "I won't go off into some magical life-changing school and leave my OWN sister alone with her thoughts convincing herself that she's not special when she's the most special person in the world to me! Not gonna happen!" *a couple of weeks later school has already started and it's after legacy day* H: "I still can't believe that you're not going!" *sits down for breakfast* P: "There's practically no point now. Legacy day was yesterday I doubt they would have accepted any new students at that point." *they talk while eating breakfast* R: "Morning girls!" H/P: "Morning mom!" R: "Now, Poppy are you sure you still don't want to go to school? I know that Legacy Day was yesterday but H: "No thanks, Mom! If Holly's not going then I'm not going!" *smiles* R: "I Love how close you two are!" "Well, I'm going to bring your grandmother her tea, shout if you need anything!" *Leaves* *The girls continue to eat while Poppy blabs about something* *In Holly's mind* H: "I don't want Poppy to throw her whole destiny away for me! This is all my fault. She deserves to go to a REAL school with other royals like her and not be stuck with some no-destiny nobody like me." "Holly? Holly! HOLLY!" *Holly snaps out of her thinking stage* "Uh, yeah?" "I asked if you wanted to come horseback riding with me later" "Oh! Uh yeah! Totally!" *Poppy looks at her sister weirdly but figures she was just lost in thought and starts to talk again* *A few minutes later their mother and grandmother come downstairs to join them* G: "Morning girls!" "Morning Grandma." R: "I'll get your food Mom" *Raps and her mom start to talk about Raven at legacy day* H: "Wait what did you say?" G: "Oh? You girls haven't heard?" *shakes their heads* "Raven queen, the daughter of the evil queen didn't sign the storybook of legends yesterday!"
(I know that the twins' arrival was a web episode but I'm not sure if the rest of the gang were still first years or not. In case they aren't I want them to be. So this little concept/episode idea for why the twins come to EVA a little late. I want to them to arrive after Legacy Day so still in season 1. This episode's idea is a 2 parter. My idea first then pt 2 is the actual episode when they arrive.)
I'll post part 2 to this in a second. (part 23 and 24)

Y'know, I'm not actually sure how I feel about the twist / ending in Doctor Who? I'm going to have to sit on it for a while - because I'm certain RTD has plans for this - but right now I'm just a bit 🤨 Cut for spoiler talk;
So I was mostly excited about this episode because I wanted to see Tennant's Doctor go up against the Toymaker (NPH was just an added bonus in the role) and for the most part the Toymaker did not disappoint. NPH did an incredible job with the character and the chaotic fey-like quality that character brings. I think the last time I felt truly uncomfortable in a DW episode was Don't Blink back when it first aired, but the dolls in this episode really gave me that 'oh shit, I do not like this it's creepy' energy. I'd rank that part of the character up there on my favorite interpretations in New Who next to Capaldi's classic Cyberman episode.
... But the Toymaker is undefeatable. He is a celestial fiend, a being of cosmic power. You don't defeat or kill him - you trick him, and then he waits until the next meeting. And I don't feel that the 'trick' with the ball game worked. It felt like a cop-out. I think the episode was rushed towards the end, which kind of sucks because this could have been something really special. I would have rather that they won the game and the Toymaker grudgingly accepted it, until next time. (Although my God, this is a character you do not introduce often unlike others the show has worn out. Keep their mystery and only release them every so often).
The ending itself left me ... lukewarm as of right now? I don't know how I feel about the bigeneration, and I'm not sure I like it? Also what does this mean for however many timelord / variant timelords are now running around? We have two doctors (Tennant and Ncuti), the Doctordonna, Donna's Daughter, The Master, Jenny's still out there somewhere - there's so many and I'm just like 'we still haven't brought in characters like Romana or Rani! We still haven't used Gallifrey - and it's been ten years since we used a whole anniversary special to save it!'
I wish we had more old who characters pop up in these specials too :( I love that they explored further material and older episodes for them (the Star Beast was a treat, and I don't think anyone expected the Toymaker of all characters to return, especially given the erm ... racism/cultural appropriation conversation the old 60's version brings up these days). But I feel like Jodie's last few episodes are the best tribute to them, and those aren't even specials. While it's nice to see Mel again, I miss my darling Ace, and she would have fit right in at the Doctor Donna family table at the end. Although it was nice to have Fourteen and Fifteen acknowledge Adric, and our dear Sarah Jane.
The best part of the episode however was the Toymaker dancing to 'Spice Up Your Life' and causing havoc. That was a peak 'I Can't Decide' with the Master moment, and it will forever be a fav.
