"ohh my god kids arent using computers anymore?? theyre gonna grow up technologically illiterate!!!" millennials use technology more than books. is this because they are inherently stupid and killing off physical books? no, because they still like books, even if they don't need them. similar story. add on the fact that phones are getting more and more powerful (for half the price of a decent laptop), computers that kids would use in school are becoming less and less user oriented (chromebooks hiding the files is actually a villain trait. like thats inherent evil) so it's basically just a clunky, heavy, glorified phone. there are for sure kids out there that love computers, just like how there are kids out there who love reading. plus, the exhileration of an autistic 7 year old going through 20 year old computer equipment in the basement and setting it up with their (equally autistic) father is only going to get cooler in the next few years. did you hear that a 13 year old beat tetris? like he fucking beat it? i think the kids are okay if we keep encouraging them. it looks bleak because it's already been bleak for a while, they were just born into it. sounds familiar. can we be nice to these kids pleaasee
