I know you don't have time answering asks rn so no need to write a lot of thoughts about this, i just wanted to share my thoughts because you watch Haikyuu and IE like me😀 Like the interactions with Haikyuu and IE characters would be interesting for example: Max and Kenma are similar and they both Love Cats, Megane being extremely fond of Tsukki to the point where Tsukki is annoyed by him, Aone, Ushiwaka and Gouenji just vibing, Hinata and Endou infodumping about their Sports to each other etc

Please elaborate on the Willow/Cordy parallels you found watching AtS 4x14

Alright! So these are really just half-baked thoughts and I'm thinking an actual Cordy and Willow post is in order once I actually finish both series.

But the gist of it now is the whole "higher being/ultimate evil" exchange. The way it wasn't actually Cordy interacting with Willow and going up against her, unbeknownst to Willow but the way I think it works to serve their parallels. Because, while I know it's not the same thing, I think you could argue that Dark Willow was a form of possession. It was still Willow more so than Cordelia is herself in AtS s4 but a twisted, overtaken by magic version of her. And so for them to have this exchange while Cordy is now the one overtaken by some kind of ultimate evil (I don't know yet what it is exactly lol) is so interesting to me.

Some people commented on my original Willow and Cordy parallels post saying that Cordy's reaction proves her superiority but I ain't having that, I love both girls. And I think we should take into account that experiencing empathy and wanting to destroy the world because of it was a Dark Willow thing, and apparently Cordelia's journey has been part of some mystical chess game.

Like I said, half-baked and I need to at the very least finish this storyline to get somewhere with it but still. I do wish Willow had more AtS eps left, I thought she did until I checked imdb. Bummer. Bummer about lots of missed opportunities here but I'll wait and see how things end and try to make sense of the Willow and Cordy thoughts in my mind. All I know is that when Dark Willow had that empathy moment all I could think about was Cordy and they haven't left my mind since. Probably my favourite understated parallel of the Buffyverse. There are some other great parallels but those tend to be more on the nose and therefore I feel less inclined to dwell on them.

There's definitely a lot to be said for the way that trans women take up many typically/conventionally feminine practices and the broader cultural response to that.

For many late 2nd and early 3rd wave femininsts these transfem behaviors are seen as reinforcing stereotypes and are framed as sexist practices. Meanwhile the trans women are seeking a multitude of benefits from stereotypically feminine practices.

Obviously there's just seeking affirming in our gender - to act like a woman is to be a woman etc etc... However gender constructs are also built on knowledges and disciplines. Cooking, for example, while framed as a stereotypically feminine practice (in terms of home cooking, I know it's different in chef world, I've worked with too many misogynist chefs don't come for me) yet when trans women don't have the knowledge of and basis in feminine-coded knowledge this is used to deny our womanhood. "You don't know how to cook?" "You don't know how to sew?" "You don't know how to put on makeup?" and similar all serve to punish and question us for failing to perform femininity, and to throw our status as women into question. Yet when we seek redress for that lack of knoweldge we're punished for "enforcing" stereotypes.

But also for trans women learning "women's knowledge" is not just an act of validation/affirmation, it's also practicing cultural reclamation. For most us our womanhood and femininity has been denied to us our entire lives pre-transition. To establish our place within womanhood, to better understand our identities, and to better understand the interior and exterior dimensions of womanhood, we need to operate within and experiment with femininity and womanhood. And this is an experience that most teen girls in healthy environments are given the freedom and the support to do. Obviously womanhood is a position of violence within a broader patriarchal culture, but there are communities and spaces where that is less true and women are safer. Part of building a safer world for women is building a safer world for trans women to experiment and exist in these spaces.

From a perspective of feminist studies and political work, transfem people provide invaluable new perspectives in showcasing what is learned by transfems as we move into womanhood, and showcasing what we always knew. To be feminist and exclude these perspectives is to harm the movement in similar fashion to excluding the feminist study, writing, and perspective of non-white women, disabled women, class-diverse women, and the multitude of other identities and axes along which the experience and shape of the construct of womanhood are changed and defined.

Out of boredom I decide to find a mod for Cyberpunk 2077, I found a mod called "Hypermod", I decide to redo a new game as a male character and decide to change to a female one. After hours I create a hyper sexualized version of Mei from Overwatch with a 25 cm dick, I press confirm and I feel a strange tingling throughout my body…

Though the sliders do work if you tried dialing them up a few notches...Hey, 25 cm is barely anything I'd consider hyper, it's realistically big if anything...why not bump that up to 250cm for a start~? <3

Adding to my SA-X externalizing Samus’ self-loathing post, Dark Samus could do it first as well. She’s not really, truly a dark version of Samus, more of a mutated monstrosity wearing a stolen suit. But maybe she could still reflect the darkness in Samus’ mind in Corruption, when Samus is infected with Phazon. We know if Samus goes into Hypermode for too long, she becomes consumed and turns into a Dark Samus herself??? Plus apparitions of Prime show up when the other hunters die, implying her spirit was already possessing them, before she absorbs them.

So maybe there’s a latent consciousness of Prime within Samus’ infection. And when she’s really going through it with the Phazon overdose, reeling from the guilt of killing her friends, she starts to suffer hallucinations. And I think Phazon-induced hallucinations are a canonical symptom? So Samus goes to a reflection, sees what she’s turning into as she suffers from her bodily autonomy being violated as she tries to stammer to herself she’s fine.

And then the reflection turns into Dark Samus, who grips Samus by the shoulders and asks; We just murdered our friends. Does that sound fine?

Samus realizes she’s not being strangled by Dark Samus, but herself, and lets go. Dark Samus continues to mess with Samus telepathically through her Phazon infection, and make Samus wonder if there’s any differentiation between the two, if she’s being possessed and going to turn into her. It could just be Dark Samus cloning herself like she does in her boss fight but in a more tangible and stable way… But it could be that and more. Or maybe it really IS all in Samus’ head and Prime is just chilling on Phaaze while it happens.

Make Prime really earn the title Dark Samus when a hallucination makes Samus lash out violently and she sees her changed reflection, and reflects on who she almost hurt in that manic state; Samus veers into a panic attack. She arrives on Phaaze and hears and sees DS more frequently; Is this because the mental link is stronger because they’re closer, and/or because Prime IS Phaaze now thanks to the Aurora Unit, and is literally manifesting through the planet? Samus questions, exhausted, if Dark Samus is really there when she enters the final chamber; Dark Samus confirms, cue final battle.

Dark Samus is now a psychological horror, representing what Samus fears she could become, the future… While the SA-X later on is her past, who she was, coming back to haunt Samus. Her previous body made manifest and reduced to just the unfeeling hunter, with Dark Samus being the twisted mind. Both doppelgängers are also an opportunity for Samus to vent a LOT of pent-up frustration towards herself, but it’s in Fusion’s climax where AI Adam begins to help her actually address this healthily.

Metroid prime is an awesome final boss because it forces you to use most of the skills you found during your adventure. You need to use all 4 beams, 3 different visors (scan isn’t necessary, but it does reveal how to enter hypermode, which isn’t readily apparent without a guide), morph ball to avoid when the first form charges at you and if a Metroid in the second half latches on to you, plus bombs (and probably power bombs to just kill the Metroids as quick as possible)… I think every combat related upgrade you get is used in this battle (excluding the missile combos, which are completely optional and are never required at any point in the game). I think a good final boss isn’t just one that’s challenging, which this one certainly is, but one that really makes you use everything you’ve learned up until this point.

Funniest option: Lucifer was really into television for a while early on (some decade before now??) but he got so into it that he sorta just.. watched. Sorta like how currently he makes rubber sucks hypermode style?

(<- not to the same degree as the ducks. Possible option: he was really into the Adam's Family television show and quit when it stopped airing because "the rest was convoluted or mindless without reason (aka no circus motifs?? No hell motifs?? No healthy families or stuff free of sexism or racism or other such things? ALSO in the 60s or 70s they made a TON of propaganda television stuff so)

He had a moment of "this ain't good!" and fully quit and because he's immortal a few decades is like nothing to him, at least when it isn't related to his loved ones. It was sorta hypnotizing for him for a while because wow! Humans are achieving things they only categorized as magic mere decades prior!!

The unfortunate side effect is that while he may be sorta up to date with lingo, he ALSO shares a mutual avoidance of television with Alastor (what do they do when they find out????)

But seriously, with his depression, tv can drag in deep. At least with ducks he creates something and has a physical proof and he does something that he actually likes. While being glued to the screen make it feels like nothing happens while time flies by.
