From Vision to Purpose: Overcoming Overthinking to Build with Intention

Have you noticed how debilitating overthinking can be in our lives at times? It creeps in quietly, paralyzing our ability to move forward, to make decisions, or to even dream freely. We spend so much time measuring our lives in calendar years—12 neat little months, January to December. But what if we shifted our perspective? What if, instead of seeing time as months on a grid, we saw it as seasons? Quarters we could design intentionally, with purpose and focus.

Overthinking often creeps in when we lack focus. When our minds scatter in every direction, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, unsure, or stuck. The remedy? You HAVE to find a focus. Most especially if you are a multi hyphenate. Anchor yourself in something clear and intentional.

For me, this year, that focus is my YouTube channel. I’m not just focusing on creating content—I’m building something. A space where faith, storytelling, and purpose intersect. My vision? To scale my channel, to create content that resonates deeply, and to reach the milestone of monetization. But it’s not just about numbers or metrics; it’s about impact.

This year I decided to be intentional so I started by writing down what I wanted: What do I want my channel to look like by the end of this year? What kind of community do I want to build? What stories do I want to tell?

And then, I brought it before God. I asked Him to revise it, refine it, and align it with His will. Because a vision in alignment with God isn’t just a dream—it’s a purpose.

Seasons change, focus evolves, and visions grow. But with clarity, intention, and alignment, every season can become something meaningful.

I recall saying this before, but it bears repeating:

There could be a billion trans people in the world and it still wouldn't be a bad thing because being trans is not a bad thing. Even if the rate of people discovering they are trans is "disproportionate" to trends from decades ago, that is not a bad thing. In fact, it's a natural consequence for there being more trans people being able to stay alive, and, overall, being able to live in a slightly more tolerant world. You'd only see that as a bad thing if you actively didn't want trans people to either live or live a life that facilitates wellness.

Spider-Society and The Day of Lots of Involuntary Trips to Earth-19999. (Finally finished this, god damn.)

I hadn’t seen any takes on what Spider-Society was like during Spider-man: No Way Home (2021), so I thought about it too hard.

I.e. I pulled up a clip of No Way Home to see what the Peter-abduction spell would look like from Miguel’s POV, then realized he'd have no idea what he's looking at and would probably mistake it for something else.

maybe an unpopular opinion but despite my passion for self development, i honestly dislike most typical 'self development' books and really believe you get a lot more self-expansion out of reading creative non-fiction, essays, philosophy, and literature. engagement with these types of works will expand your intellect and teach you how to grapple with big ideas for yourself, rather than following the rules set out by some girl boss or hustle bro in their glorified marketing pamphlet 'book'.

I don’t remember where this quote was from but there’s a line that goes “I was looking through rose colored glasses for so long, the red flags just looked like the way to go.” And I think that embodies Curly’s view point in life and specifically about Jimmy a lot. Not to mentions a world where he actually makes it out of the Tulpar.

i love the “i can’t pay the mortgage this month” videos. satoru doesn’t even know what that is, he bought your house in cash, you say the word mortgage and he’s super confused he calls nanami to ask if that’s something he should have for the house—“it’s not like insurance right? i swear we have all that, we even have hurricane insurance because i saw a super scary videos online once nanamin oh my goodness the poor little cats clinging to the roof i almost cried. anyway do we need that?”

i think i started seeing spending time alone differently when i was 18 and feeling small and lonely in a big and bustling city. i legit remember being so down but just throwing on ripped boyfriend jeans and a cute crop top and my favorite perfume at the time and just walking for hours on end around the city. it was such a seismic shift for me. i perused stores by myself, treated myself to dinner, spent hours at a bookstore without checking my phone. it was such a power statement being one of very few people walking by themselves in a busy shopping center and not feeling bad about it. i genuinely did not care whatsoever. it was actually so cathartic for me. for the first time ever i was not performing for anyone but actually just enjoying my time and my space and my being. now i adore spending time alone and don't see it as some kind of social failing. it's not. at all

i can't stop thinking about powder in the parallel universe.

she's the girl of all time to me. like she has cute little space buns and a generally normal demeanor, but she also keeps the bombs that killed her sister in a drawer inside her workshop. she’s a genius who could easily win the innovators contest, but she helps ekko with his project instead. she's squandering her potential and everyone knows it, she knows it, and she's made peace with it. she likes her life as is, she lives her life for her family. she internalized every self-sacrificing habit from vi. she's guilty all the time. she turns her anxiety inwards and makes a memorial of herself. she's a little sister thrust into the role of a big sister thrust into the role of a parent. she's too young (vi was younger.) she's too old (vi will never get older.)
