i know it's in my blog rules to not talk about politics here but i'm gonna break that for a hot second and vent cause idgaf wtf was this election.

i genuinely hate my country so fucking much. for a country that just doesn't give a damn about any of it's people, the polarizing extremes of both sides, it actually sucks so much. and the only thing you can sit and do is just watch it all go to shit and say "well i didn't vote for them". because there's nothing you can do.

obviously the abortion amendment didn't pass in my state and neither did the marijuana amendment (which is shocking...?) but it's just crazy at how these events turned out.

america is fucked. literally. like it's so broken. everyone pushing the blame onto how some candidate ran their campaign, when we saw a convicted felon and sexual abuser who staged an insurrection, hold a nazi rally. and yet this person still won the popular vote.

it's so frustrating to see because i worked at the polls all day yesterday, and watching people come in with their merch donned all over their chest with proud and bright smiles makes me genuinely speechless at this whole thing.

ok imagine nightmare sans. now imagine those minecraft villager trading halls where all the villagers are stuck in the little cell blocks to get ideal trades. now that but replace the villagers with the murder time trio and ideal trades with negativity. he's maxxing out the negativity output for every square foot i guess,,,,,,,

there's absolutely NO space for movement it's practically a little closet. only thing is like basic necessities like food and water distributed by a killer (because he wouldn't get attatched to any of them when there's so many,,,, perhaps a different cell warden for a killer only section to avoid a killer meeting another killer and then having to deal with the mindboggle they'd face and then UGH!!!) these little negativity farms cost so little effort to make!!! all nightmare has to do is keep as many (living) sanses (IN FACT NOT EVEN THE TRIO!! but also the trio since they're easy to break down) in as little space as possible and he's practically got like. + 100k negativity every hour with just 6 of these farms. how efficient!

I am not a ToddBlack shipper.... HOWEVER I can admit that those guys had some kind of romantic of sexual relationship before the whole coma thing. Like the way Todd just lies down on the bed in Ep11 after calling Black an agressive dog, the way they both can't kill each other (and yea we can say that this could also be platonic because they have been friends for a long time but still). Those guys had something and I don't know if GMMTV trusted us enough to read between the lines and that is why they never clearified it or this is just another GramBlack situation where they gave us a shit ton of subtext to just go "Nahh nevermind..."

maybe we DON'T depict aventurine with catholic/christian imagery, especially if you're going to make him worship sunday while you're at it as some sort of ship thing. like maybe we just don't do that actually. because, you know, sunday's interrogation wherein he not only stepped way way way out of line and asked insulting and invasive questions about aventurine's past and heritage, but he also branded aventurine with the harmony/order? a brand that would have either killed him or forcibly converted him to be a loyal mindless follower of ena xipe? yeah this whole thing serves as a real world parallel to the catholic church's centuries-long persecution (which involved things like enslavement and forcible conversion to the catholic religion and murder in the case of noncompliance) of the rroma people.

the aeonic belief system in hsr does not inherently serve as an allegory for christianity, but here, in this scene, on penacony, with sunday (for fuck's sake just look at his design man) and the harmony and the order, it does. and it's further hammered in by the fact that the avgins don't adhere to that standard aeonic system at all. they have their own god and practice a completely different kind of religion - one that aventurine is not-so-subtly implied to still practice (albeit EXTREMELY privately now). so like, maybe this is not like. a trope or an aesthetic (or whatever) we should be applying to this dynamic! maybe that's really fucking insensitive and gross. eek

Favorite part about Death Note is that Light gets the Note and IMMEDIATELY becomes a serial killer fascist with a god complex.

No build-up, no Fall From Grace, no slow corruption of a good boy gradually becoming a monster. Just-- SPEED RUN STRATS. And I love that for him.

Tbh, I think there are a lot of folks (especially boys) from my high school days who would have immediately become monsters if given the power of life and death over every person around them.

It's kind of like how when people have apparently casual ableist beliefs, and you push them to elaborate on that just a little bit, they'll often end up openly saying stuff like "well, some people are just too disabled to be worth the resources it takes to support them." - Which is... eugenics. It's just eugenics, justified by the myth of scarcity. Now these folks almost certainly won't call it eugenics, or even think of it that way. But that doesn't make it NOT a core belief of the Nazis.

In a similar way, Light seems like a nice and well-adjusted boy with strong beliefs. No harm in that.

And 15 minutes into the Death Note musical, I'm already thinking about how so many beliefs "casually" held by well-adjusted, nice people immediately reveal their monstrousness when talked through to their natural conclusion.

And I wonder how many of those people, given the power of life and death over everyone around them - the power to take their ideas to their natural conclusions - would also immediately reveal how their lack of self-reflection has laid the groundwork for them to become monsters.

My general consensus with this fight is that it's just extra content and... in-between canonicity. They don't show up in the credits (in a scene) regardless if you kill them or not, and the pupils are alive(?) or possibly some other ones are alive as they could just look similar/be reused sprites

Fitzroy is lore for sure which contradicts some of the implications about trancending that we get but like. Royal is kind of a dumbass AND is being told all of this from mother/one concern. There's multiple implications of the "ancestors" (both isi and Him followers) coming from somewhere else/resetting the planet and leaving instructions/tech for their respective people to use. Fitzroy seems to fit in the between stage before the concern has studied the tech, but AFTER the Ancestors arrived/reset the planet. In The Tower and the Bastion there are images of famous earth landmarks (taj mahal, new York, pyramids I think) implying that some sort of Earth was destroyed/minerals drained (more connections to the themes about environmentalism) and that humanity was "reset". RIGHT BUT CANONICITY. Fitzroy is more lore... If u want him to be. The true past of humanity is still foggy ESPECIALLY with conflicting views from Him followers and the Isi. The concern claims to have longer records of history, and has aforementioned images, but they shape it to their beliefs and leave out certain parts intentionally as well as only educate people deemed more faithful (concern staff) and censor/mysticize parts for the common folk and ESPECIALLY city one residents. This is more likely a commentary on religion specifically they larger ones and how they shape societies views and history! (Remember when we used B.C?)
