Anyone know what fagot tape is???

My parents gave me all the sewing things in my gran’s house as they were cleaning it out and this was included????? I’m so baffled the trim is all a very fine lawn, double fold bias tape that they decided to name fagot tape????

My usual research is failing me, the only things I can find are eyelet/open weave trims, which is not what this is at all T.T someone help

Hey, I was wondering if anybody knew about some good books or biographies about Jean-Andoche Junot? I'm very new to the Napoleonic Era, and so I don't know very good resources in general, and I haven't been able to find much on him! Any sort of help would be appreciated; thank you!

ok im so confused. what's the point of embassies in the medieval/renaissance time? like all i know is that embassies are like the places where you get visas on your passport and from what I know passports became a thing in like the 20th century. like are they travel agencies? a place where you can get your social security check from home while you're in a different country??? seeking asylum??? did embassies even exist back then????

This is beautiful and miraculous and I do not remotely understand how some people can reject it – not just for themselves, but for their children

Resource help?

A brief note: I lack an embaressing amount of knowledge on the history of Mexico, other than the broad strokes, so learning is an ongoing process. So I do apologize if the information I am requesting does not quite make sense, or comes off as ignorant. I am actively seeking to rid myself of this ignorance.

I am doing a historical fiction novel/comic, and I wanted to have a character who is a young girl from an aristocratic Mexican family.

The year I am looking at is the 1880's. I would like some help finding good resources on Mexican fashion during this time period, especially that would be suitable for a girl at around 10 years old from a wealthy family.

If you have some good resources on this information, please reach out to me any way you feel comfortable.

Any help would be much appreciated.
