Amazing!!! Always such a good detail finder~
OKAY EVERYONE!!! I NOTICED SOMETHING REALLY CRAZY YESTERDAY WHEN I REWATCHED "OZZIE'S!!!"
I rewatched "Ozzie's" yesterday because on a personal level, I like to watch episodes of a show I love on the anniversary of their air date to kind of show my love for the fandom, which was yesterday for "Ozzie's," and thanks to the new episode we got on Sunday, something that always felt off to me during a scene FINALLY clicked and actual hinted at what we saw happen in the musical episode! The thing that always felt off was this:
Tumblr media
Why did when Fizz get introduce did the color change to green?
Tumblr media
When Stolas and Blitz arrive, there is blue fire in the fire places and a more comfortable lighting.
Tumblr media
Then it changes back to blue when it's time for Moxxie's song and Fizz gets to rejoin Ozzie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But when the lighting and even the fire are green, Fizz is advertising the Robo Fizz, talking about Loo Loo Land and we see some of the creepy fans that Fizz has to put up with, which have vastly been increased thanks to the various sex toys made in his image.
The craziest thing though is that when I went to make the screenshots for this post, I noticed this:
Tumblr media
For a fraction of a second, when Fizz is mentioning that the Robo Fizz at Loo Loo Land makes more money than the ones they sell to get people off, he is visible uncomfortable, indicating he is not really okay with this whole situation. Thanks to the new episode, we now know that Mammon was really behind the Robo Fizz idea and that Fizz and Ozzie aren't really happy about it, so this color change was used to hint at who was really responsible for the content that Fizz was talking about in this brief scene and the position it put him in. O_O

Something I was always a little concerned about in the lead-up to Hazbin Hotel was that Charlie was going to be a bit too passive of a character, ie; leaning only into the ‘kind, optimistic Disney-Princess-in-Hell who just wants to help everyone’ vibe and not really have much else going on as a character. Which in turn would make her feel kind of bland next to the big, over-the-top or dramatic personalities like Angel Dust and Alastor.
But thankfully, that is not what happened and there’s actually a lot that I like about what the writers are doing with Charlie, particularly in the potential future development and reveals they seem to be setting up.
First off, I like how Charlie generally comes off more like an over-the-top caricature of that ‘Disney-Princess-in-Hell’ vibe, ie; SUPER energized, enthusiastic, affectionate and emotional, often to overbearing degrees that get on everyone’s nerves. It’s generally funny, or at least amusing, and lets Charlie stand out alongside the other big personalities in the cast. Funny enough, she’s actually a lot like Blitzo in this regard, minus the seesawing into extreme abrasiveness.
And more importantly, we’ve already gotten major hints all but confirming that this over-the-top personality is largely a façade, and that Charlie actually has some very clear issues and baggage that she’s working VERY hard to keep buried beneath the surface. Again, much like Blitzo.
Like how in the trust-fall exercise in episode three, despite asking everyone to reveal something personal, Charlie actually bullshits just as hard as Angel Dust and Sir Pentious with her whole ‘I love you all!’ bit. Sure, it’s not like she was lying or being insincere, but it’s clear that was NOT something truly personal for Charlie. And in episode 4 we have Husk straight-up calls out Charlie as ‘wanting to solve everyone’s problems but her own’.
Then of course we have the brief glimpses we’ve seen of Charlie getting angry. Both the times we’ve seen Charlie dealing with some truly despicable and horrendous characters, we’ve seen that rather than lacking the ability to get angry, Charlie is often working to hold herself back. In both her encounters with Adam and Valentino we see points where Charlie is clearly NOT intimidated or afraid of them at all and seems fully prepared to throw down, only being stopped by reigning herself in or by someone else (in this case Angel) stopping her.
Again, it all paints Charlie’s big, bubbly, hyperactive exuberance as something of a front, a way for her to bury a lot of thoughts, feelings and general baggage she doesn’t want to face. Just like what the show has already explored with Angel and Husk.
It actually raises some interesting questions as to what’s REALLY driving Charlie in running the hotel and trying to help Sinners. For one, Husk has already pegged Charlie as ‘wanting to solve everyone’s problems but her own’. And going back to thematic crossover with Helluva Boss, I can’t help but see some potential parallels between Charlie creating the Hazbin Hotel, and Blitzo creating Immediate Murder Professionals.
I think it’s pretty clear at this point that half the reason for creating I.M.P. was as a coping mechanism for Blitzo, or rather the assassination business in general. Something that we’ve gotten hints to as early as the second episode in Blitzo’s back and forth with the Robo-Fizz (“Does anyone love you, Blitzo?”/“No. But I’m really good with guns now!”). With the other half of the reason Blitzo created I.M.P. clearly seems to be to create a surrogate family, as seen with how much he tries to insert himself in the M&M’s lives. Possibly even a specific attempt to replace the family he unwittingly destroyed fifteen years ago.
So I really have to wonder if we’re going to find out that Charlie creating the hotel and her goal of redeeming sinners is in part likewise a coping mechanism and escape for her own baggage.
It’s actually really interesting how episode two first introduced the idea of people opening up with Sir Pentious, then episode four dived further into the concept of the walls and fake personas people put up to hide from their pain and trauma with Angel Dust and Husk. With those two opening up and starting to let their walls down to each other, and by extension we the audience, I think it makes Charlie’s own façade all the more noticeable. It’ll be pretty interesting if Charlie actually winds up being the toughest nut to crack when it comes to opening up about their real issues and baggage. Yet another interesting trait she shares with Blitzo.
All in all, I’m really liking what the show has been doing with Charlie as a protagonist. And I’m REALLY interested to see where the story is going to take her.
Particularly what’s going to happen when she reaches a breaking point…

What Mammon's Musical shows us about Fizzaroli's relationships
Tumblr media
I noticed something about this episode that involves Fizz's relationships with Blitz, Ozzie, and Mammon
Back in S2 Ep6 "Oops" we learn from Fizz that before the animosity he had towards him, he had looked up to Blitz and in the next episode, we get 2 confirmations that support this. from Ozzie and in a flashback earlier in the episode where we see how much Fizz cherished Blitz's opinions when they were teens.
Tumblr media
Fizzarolli: *sighs* Blitzo, do you think I could win if I worked really hard? - Blitzo: I think...I think if anyone's gonna be the new clown face on everything. it'll be you, Fizz.
but after the accident that disfigured Fizz, his connection with Blitz burned away as well, replaced only with hate for 15 years as he thought Blitz betrayed him out of jealousy.
Tumblr media
and because of his disfigurement and his already low confidence, he looked to Mammon, his idol and hero, for support, as Mammon took Fizz under his wing and in Fizz's mind he thought Mammon was giving him a purpose that would help make him stand out and feel like he was worth something instead of seeing himself as a broken Imp.
Tumblr media
But after meeting with and falling in love with Asmodeus, Fizz would find someone who would slowly fill the hole in his heart and be the anchor he needed to be confident in himself, even if his relationship with Ozzie as his lover had to be kept secret, Ozzie was helping Fizz to heal without him knowing it.
Ozzie's relationship with Fizz would be contrasted darkly, by how Mammon's relationship with Fizz as we see clearly see that he is only caring for Fizzaroli for how much Fizz makes for him profit-wise.
if anything, what Mammon wanted from and established with Fizz was a transactional relationship disguised as a Father/Son-Mentor/Student relationship. Playing on Fizz's admiration of him and expecting obedience so that Fizz wouldn't lose Mammon's "Love" and "Respect" which sadly, Fizz never had.
Tumblr media
So with how enthralled Fizz is in Mammon's influence it was hard for Ozzie to convince Fizz to not go to the competition as he saw how much it was stressing Fizz out and despite his efforts, Ozzie wasn't confident he was getting through to him,
Tumblr media
so Ozzie went to Blitz who was the only other person he knew that had a personal connection to Fizz and hoped he would help snap him out of this and for all that Blitz did, for all the love and dedication he showed to Fizz in defending him and trying to support him when Blitz tried to help Fizz see Mammon for who he was, Fizz wasn't listening and we sadly see that Blitz's friendship with him isn't enough anymore because of how badly burned it was for the past 15 years, which made it so that Blitz is no longer close enough to Fizz to help him.
Tumblr media
A perfect example of how the episode REALLY strengthens this is the scene we get during Fizz's panic attack, and THIS shot is focused on:
Tumblr media
SO, what do we see in this image?
The Mirror, shaped in Mammon's image, BUT is also vaguely Heart Shaped, which represents Fizz's heart.
At the center is Fizz.
On his left, Asmodeus, his lover.
On his right a picture of Mammon, his hero/idol/boss.
What this visually conveys to us is that the two people who hold any influence or has a connection to Fizz are Asmodeus and Mammon.
Asmodeus: Because both him and Fizz are lovers and it is clear after everything, we've seen of them that the two share a very strong bond. Asmodeus is here for Fizz physically and is helping him work through his emotional and mental turmoil, while also taking up most of the space on the mirror's image, possibly hinting that compared to Mammon, Ozzie has or is slowly having more influence and stronger connection to Fizz than Mammon.
Mammon: After the accident, Fizz dedicated himself to Mammon as he saw him as a hero and an idol and as such Mammon has control over Fizz that he knowingly exploits, but we also see that contrast to Asmodeus PHYISCALLY and EMOTIONALLY being here for Fizz. Mammon is only shown in a small picture (which isn't taking up much space on the mirror, possibly symbolizing how his hold on Fizz is weakening), symbolizing that Mammon's shadow hangs over Fizz and also shows how he is emotionally and physically distant from Fizz.
But if you'll also notice. like how I mentioned above; BLITZ is nowhere to be seen in this moment, despite earlier we saw how much Fizz and Blitz were close and despite how much the two are on the mend after 15 years, Blitz's connection to Fizz is no longer there and isn't represented by anything in the mirror.
So, as we see Fizz going through a panic attack and hits his lowest point, the person who ended up lifting his spirts was Ozzie; at first represented by the compact mirror Fizz got from him, before he shows up at Fizz's dressing room himself.
Tumblr media
And after both a heartbreaking revelation and a heartwarming duet between the two, we see that Ozzie, the person who doubted his ability to reach Fizz ended up being the one who was needed to help Fizz break free of his abuser's control
Tumblr media
and when the time came, he was there to support Fizz as he shined in the spotlight making his declaration against said abuser.
Tumblr media
And when Mammon is enraged and tries to threaten Fizz's life, it is here, Asmodeus, the King of Lust, publicly stands by his lover's side and protects him with a bold declaration of love.
Tumblr media
Which, prior to Mastermind, parallels and contrasts to how Stolas folded when he was mocked for being with Blitz.
Tumblr media
All in all what Mammon's Musical Mid-Season Finale showed us was a glimpse into Fizzaroli's relationships which is fitting as this episode had him as the main focus character as it is his arc of realizing the kind of relationship he is in with Mammon and breaking free of his own will while being aided by those who love him.
And by the end we see just how true Ozzie and Fizz's love is for each other and how while Fizz is on the mend with Blitz, it wasn't as strong as it was before and that that's okay because sometimes this happens, but at least Fizz knows he's not alone and he has two great people there who support him
Tumblr media
End.

Blitzo's Hallucination Scene
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blitzo's dream reveals much about his psyche along with why he acts the way he does...
Take note of how Verosika treats Blitzo. Striker and Fizzaroli throw around and mock him for his loneliness, while she crawls towards him and calls him out for pushing away those that get close, at most grabbing his face for emphasis. This hints heavily that Verosika really loved Blitzo and Blitzo knew, but then he sabotaged the relationship.
The hallucinations of Striker, Fizzaroli, and Verosika speak with Blitzo's voice rather than those of their voice actors. Blitzo is criticizing himself for his own insecurities and toxic behavior.
Adding to the above, Moxxie's voice is unchanged, but his body flickers between his normal art style and the crude drawing style Blitzo's used in the past. While the other hallucinations speak to Blitzo's insecurities about himself, Moxxie just blathers on in fancy language without really saying anything of value. Much as Blitzo wants to think that that's how Moxxie is, he knows it isn't true, hence the flickering between real and unreal. Also, why is Moxxie phasing in and out of Blitzo's drawing style? Looks like Blitzo is still upset about Moxxie criticizing his art skills...
None of Blitzo's family shows up during the hallucination, not even his disapproving father who would presumably be a big source of Blitzo's insecurity. That's because his interactions with Robo-Fizz, Verosika, and Striker were all very recent, meaning that the emotional wounds they inflicted were still fresh in Blitzo's mind. Not to mention that the Truth Bomb gas dissipates fairly quickly. It's possible that it could have dredged up Blitzo's family had it lingered for longer.
Blitzo's mind is drenched in mud. Aside from signifying how Blitzo feels lower than dirt, mud in dreams symbolizes insecurity, uncertainty, and an inability to find your footing. All things that Blitzo has been struggling with. The mud disappears once Stolas arrives, though some of it coats the staircase for a little longer. Stolas is a reassuring presence in Blitzo's life on some level, but Blitzo still isn't one hundred percent sure if he will stick around.
Blitzo climbs the golden stairs to get away from Fizzaroli, Verosika, and Striker only to see Stolas waiting at the top, being fanned by two clones of himself. Rather than run in another direction, Blitzo keeps climbing, almost crawling towards him. The clown outfit that Blitzo had been wearing is replaced by his normal outfit, but golden chains form around his wrists and neck, led by a chain pulled by Stolas.
This single scene explains so much about Stolas and Blitzo's relationship to one another; Blitzo gained a new life and dignity (the clothes) thanks to Stolas, but his entire assassination business is now dependent on Stolas' grimoire, making Blitzo feel trapped (the chains) under the owl's whims. Stolas might actually be in love with Blitzo, but because of this dynamic, Blitzo feels like it's nothing more than a master toying with their pet. It also explains why Blitz seemed so reluctant to be near Stolas in the past: his self-deprecation and tendency to push people away makes him believe that once Stolas grows bored of him, he'll discard him and he'll lose everything, so he doesn't want to get attached.

Note
there are so many little hints that support Blitzfizz and feel like foreshadowing
Blitzo's love letter to him, the way he still so clearly carries a torch for him and never let it go (and the way they have a bond because these two are actual childhood friends). The way he keeps calling Fizz a sellout to cope with his jealousy but it's also because he thinks Fizz deserves better than Mammon. The way Fizz feels smothered and overprotected by Ozzie. The way they both have relationships with a massive class difference. Even the way they made up ridiculously quickly once they both knew the other wanted to see them the whole time. The shot of Fizz and Ozzie kissing and when they part, Blitzo is between them. The way Fizz's "anyone who judges royals is just as bad" reads a lot better if we assume he's just projecting his own relationship insecurities onto Blitzo. The way Blitzo makes total heart eyes at him when Fizz makes him part of his routine in 'Look at This' and the way he blushes when Fizz is showing him blindfolds in Full Moon (just the general way he looks at Fizz with the most adoration and desire he's shown to anyone in the show - far more than he's ever managed to look at Stolas with)
it wouldn't make up for all of s2's writing problems but it genuinely would be a good plot twist/development if Blitzfizz happened. because the show hasn't really done much of anything to make it convincing why it should be stol1tz instead - Blitz will always hold Fizz in his heart, admires and adores him, but we have no idea what would be missing from his life if Stolas wasn't in it.
If anything it would be a net positive because he wouldn't be expected to clean up Stolas' messes anymore or deal with all his passive-aggressive 'I'm never wrong' BS. The whole redemption through accountability thing works far better with Blitzfizz because Blitzo did hurt him. It was an accident but it still had a major effect on Fizz. meanwhile the only damage Blitzo has done to Stolas is in Stolas' head - by Stolas' own admission Blitzo didn't mean to hurt him and it didn't mean anything; it was just his own delusions about what was happening that resulted in him getting his poor owl fee fees hurt
I think HB holds some kind of record for the amount of things that feel like foreshadowing, only to be discarded immediately, and Blitz and Fizz's relationship is definitely one of them. Everything about it just feels inevitable, but nope, sad crying owl.

Little bit of my rewrite here...
But what if instead of Stolitz we got Stolas who was an actual villain and Blitzo x Striker. Blitzo hates Stolas but has to keep allowing his abuse (there's no SA in my rewrite) due to him and his workers being poor + he has to take care of a child (Loona is 13). In the Harvest Moon Festival Striker and Blitzo obviously had chemistry. Blitzo was considering joining Striker but ultimately chose not to due to the negative repercussions from Stolas, plus the whole needing to pay Moxxie and Millie. yada yada they stop him he gets away and at this point they're only lingering thoughts in each other's head. Maybe it keeps Blitzo up at night wondering what would have happened if he went with Strikers offer. In Western Energy, obviously we're giving Striker more of a threatening aura. This time it isn't Stella who hired Striker because Striker doesn't accept assassinations from royals. It was probably one of Stolas's imps or another wronged imp. In the end the assassination doesn't get called off, he doesn't live in a cave he lives in an abandoned train that's super cool looking and not totally sad. He also doesn't take Stolas to said train he does in fact go to a cave except he just leaves him tied and doesn't keep him on the tracks. Also there's no statue and no sexual jokes.
Anywayyysss.. he gets close to killing Stolas, he mentions Stella and Octavia and Stolas has a moment of realization though it's a hint too late as he practically ruined his relationship with both of them already. Anyways, Blitzo sends Moxxie and Millie to save him, they do. Striker is confused because he's basically saving Blitzo and yet he's being stopped??? In Oops, Striker is surprised to see that he had not only kidnapped Fizz but he kidnapped Blitzo too. Fizz and Blitzo do not make up in the end and during the fire of their escape Fizz leaves Blitzo behind to which Striker saves him and gets him out of their, apologizing to him and trying to help him get away before Crimson gets upset and tries to hunt them down.
I don't know if Stolas was still with Asmodeus or not due to Stolas not giving him an Asmodean crystal but if he was maybe we could do angst where Stolas goes after Striker and Blitzo in belief that Striker was stealing him and turns him to stone or something along those lines leading to a super manipulative scene with Blitzo and Stolas where he basically guilt trips Blitzo into coming with him and leaving Striker even more upset and hateful towards Stolas. This could also explain why Blitzo saw Striker in Truth Seekers.

I promise I'll stop posting so often about Helluva Boss soon. Probably. Maybe. (Doubtful.) There's just a LOT to notice and speculate on in the latest episode. Including the lowkey way Fizzarolli's fear is handled in this scene:
Tumblr media
After mulling it over, I think I really like the way the storyboarders went with this. We've already been shown the love and trust these two have for each other, plus we've seen that Ozzie is an engineer/inventor type. He almost certainly built those prosthetics for Fizz. Maintenance and repair are a familiar shared activity, regardless.
The mood is relaxed and affectionate as the two of them enter the workshop(?) and get settled; Fizz apologizes for getting "messy" because he feels bad for damaging Ozzie's handiwork, Ozzie reassures him that what he cares about is Fizz himself, Fizz is touched and asks how his partner's day was. He's doing fine until the scissors come out.
And then he's obviously _not_ fine, but he doesn't say anything or try to move away. His eyes track the scissors as Ozzie comes closer and he braces for pain:
Tumblr media
before realizing that all Ozzie's doing is cutting off his outfit sleeve. Then he's thoroughly distracted by the news that Stolas wanted a crystal for Blitzo, and that carries them through until Ozzie actually does start work on the arm.
I'm guessing that process was not painless, because then we skip to Fizz getting the new arm. He looks slightly apprehensive, slightly surprised that it doesn't hurt, and then happy.
Tumblr media
And what is Ozzie doing during all this? Completely ignoring Fizz's distress, that's what. Acting normal, sharing gossip, very proud of himself for saying no to Stolas, even starting to sing as he takes hold of the damaged arm.
Is he callous? Oblivious? I don't think so. We would have seen Fizz getting tense and anxious a lot earlier in that case. Instead the two of them must have worked out through trial and error that this approach is what helps most to get Fizz through medical procedures that must bring up very bad memories.
The episode took some pains to show us early on that these two interact as equals and that Fizz has NO problem being assertive in their daily lives. And while there are hints that Ozzie may be about to go overboard with the protectiveness next episode, this subtle evidence of teamwork is one of the things that makes me confident they'll confront and resolve the problem by the end of S2E7.

I just noticed - and it's a very quick scene - that I'm pretty sure that Blitzo says "Mom" in the shot right before we see the photo of him, Barbie, and their mother burning.
So it really seems like he was desperately trying to find someone to help Fizz...and then he realized his mom was still inside the burning tent (there seem to be some hints that she was sick, and may not have been able to get out without help), and was more or less forced to make the choice between trying to save his best friend or his mother, and he went with the gut reaction of his mom.
And he still lost both of them, though at least he seems to be starting to reform his friendship with Fizz.

🔥on Satan?
I wasn't expecting Satan to be a "good guy" or match how I've been playing him over the last few years
I knew Satan was going to be an antagonist by virtue of endangering one of the main characters (because when he appeared in the trailer and said "You're a disgrace" without any hint of who he was talking to, the identity of said "disgrace" was up in the air)
I knew that the "haha anger management problems" jokes were coming before Mastermind aired---just as the "haha Mammon's fat" jokes came once Mammon appeared on-screen
I knew that because of the narratives "imps are treated like shit", "royals suck" and "Hell isn't fair" that Satan, the other Sins and all but ONE Goetia (Vassago) were going to make a double-standard when sentencing Blitzo vs sentencing Stolas for the same crime of "fucking around on Earth without permission"
But I really really really dislike how one-sided the trial was and how stupid the Sins looked (especially with my big beefy boy Satan)
Andrealphus went up to demonize (I fucking hate this pun) Blitzo with nothing but "Source: Trust me, bro" and paying-off Striker TO READ A NOTE WRITTEN ON HIS HAND as "evidence" and how all but two Sins and a Goetia voted "Fuck due process, just declare him guilty and let's go to lunch"
At best, they made Satan look like a gullible, massively incompetent and easily-manipulated judge/ruler who can be convinced of ANYTHING---so long as it's an "important" person saying so. Andrealphus tore his dress open and screamed ORGASMICALLY when Stolas' verdict was given and NOBODY blinked an eye at that?
Nobody wondered "Hmm, why is this LOWER-RANKING GOETIA so ENTHUSIASTIC about getting another Goetia (his brother-in-law) demoted, their power stripped and their daughter (his niece) denied her blood claim to the throne?" or thought to question whether the Elsa-coded Wine Aunt Uncle was truly the "best" choice to become legal guardian of Octavia and whatever government role Stolas was supposed to fulfill
You can rig the system against someone WITHOUT making everyone else in the room INCREDIBLY STUPID!
Yes, Ozzie and Bee voted to hear Blitzo defend himself, but they didn't try to stop Satan from declaring him guilty or stop the execution. That makes them look bad, too! Only Ozzie expressed any remorse about the execution---only because Fizz (his boyfriend) texted him to "do something"---and the only time Bee was shown to disapprove of anything was POUTING when she was out-voted and ROLLING HER EYES when Satan claimed he ruled Hell before Lucifer
As much as Bee and Oz might've been intimidated by Satan, they still jumped in to say "Let's hear Blitzo out"---but after that, they just sat and watched when guilt was assigned and a public execution was ordered
Neither of them stood up and said "I WANT to be sure we've got the right guy, I'm WILLING to stay in this room until everyone gets to testify and I WILL file an appeal to get this done because I'm not fully convinced by this fruity (affectionate) popsicle of an aristocratic bird-man", so I'm doubtful whether they're truly On The Side of JUSTICETM or Class AlliesTM

HH fandom wants Adam and Lucifer to be ex-friends back in Eden but honestly nothing hints that? Like Blitzo and robo fizz hinted that Blitz and fizz were friends but…nothing for the HH boys
Yeah. And tbh, what would that add?
Lucifer and Adam clearly despise eachother. Being friends 6000 years ago doesn't change anything

No Stolas Au. the pilot and Murder families are the same just remove the stolas parts and the way Blitzo goes to Earth is either he has his own crystal or stole one form Verosika. Loo Loo the open of stolas and Octavia is replace with a mission after that Blitz takes the gang to Loo Loo Land for Loona birthday. she hates it as she not a kid anymore. we see Loona hellhounds friends there, either hint to Barbie or she there. the fight with robo fizz happens.
That would be cool. A stolas-less plot makes the narrative and story breathe more.

Blitzo
Tumblr media
All right! Redesigned/reimagined Blitzo.
So, heres the thing, I don't hate his current design, but I don't love it either.
Under the cut I will talk more
Alright, Blitzo. Biy do I have some thoughts on Blitzo.
I do love the idea of a failed clown turning into an assassin. I love the idea of an assassin from hell slaughtering people that sinners pay him to. I like the idea that this is his way of proving others wrong and trying to redeem himself. Him not wanting to be a failure anymore is a decent idea for a character.
The issues I have:
His treatment towards other characters. I am not opposed to him being an asshole. I like characters who start off terrible but then become good people through consequences and change in Behavior. But blitz's Behavior doesn't actually change for the better in the show. It's more like everyone around him changes to justify everything that he does.
Stalking your employees? Barely addressed.
Setting your best friend on fire? And insulting and guilttripping said friend in a half-assed apology? Apparently good enough.
Stealing from your girlfriend? (I have thoughts on Verosika too, I'll get to her at some point). It brought up in maybe two conversations and never again.
My big issue here isn't so much that Blitz is a bad person as much as the fact that there's no consequences for him except for when the plot demands it. And then said consequences go away an episode later. Especially if we're meant to sympathize with him.
I hate this line. So much. This is one of those times where you can't really redeem a person. Not when they say something like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, back to the design.
Once again, like usual with Viv, there's too much red.
It's kind of easy to lose track of details in his design.
His feet are just really weird to me. Why are they shaped like shoes? His heels are really weird
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As mentioned in some of my concept sketches, I feel like if he survived a fire that did *this* to fizz
Tumblr media
It should have done more damage to Blitzo. Hence why I made him blind in one eye
I gave him fingers similar to his sister Barbie wire, it just looks better to me. And since they're twins I think it makes sense. Once again, I will do her design as well soon
Tumblr media
I do keep his striped horns, as I feel like it makes sense for him to have them with the whole ex clown thing, but since a lot of the other characters aren't clown based they won't get the same stripes on their horns. I know Viv said that hell is like a circus, but it so rarely comes up outside of the jester designs that I decided to omit that in my rewrite
I really want to lean into the idea that he goes through change and improves his behavior bit by bit. With little hints of his soft side towards the beginning, that comes out more clearly as time goes on. Him learning something different from each character
He could learn to take accountability from fizz. Learn professionalism and good business practices from Moxxie. Learn boundaries from his daughter Loona. Etc.
I made him pink as I've heard a few ideas floating around that he might be part succubus or part lust imp and I think that fits him.
And finally... the elephant in the room. Where does Stolas come in?
Look. The way it's portrayed in the show, I don't like it. I liked Stoas better in the pilot. He was just a rich 1% who did what he wanted regardless of who it hurt. I like the idea of that for an antagonist. Blitzo uses him, he uses Blitzo. They both did things for selfish gains.
Tumblr media
I also liked the idea that he would send IMP on hit jobs as well. That would have been really interesting to see in the show
I will discuss more about their Dynamic when I do stolas's design. I will give some quick bullet points for now
Blitzo and Stolas don't fall in love.
Stolas constantly holds the grimoire over Blitzo's head to get what he wants. He knows Blitzo's business and livelihood depends on it and he takes full advantage of it.
Blitzo doesn't want to be Shackled to the prince, but doesn't see any other options until Striker appears (again, I will explain that when I get to it).
He resents stolas (and himself) for being trapped in this arrangement

Debunking the Fizz Cheated on Ozzie Theory (Because It Hurts Me 😭)
With any ongoing show, there are bound to be theories that come about and theories can be a lot of fun to read up on. Even if you don't agree with a theory or can disprove one, you're at least bound to find it entertaining. When it comes to Helluva Boss, there was a theory I heard from a couple of people that goes like this: "Fizz actually did make out with Blitzo after they reconciled and feels guilty about cheating." And while I know this show isn't exactly new to having characters who cheat/make questionable decisions regarding their romantic partners, this theory makes me feel uncomfortable. And I'm saying this as someone who ships both Fizz and Ozzie as well as Fizz and Blitzo. But allow me to attempt to ease my own anxiety by making the argument as to why I don't think this theory is possible. This is gonna be long, so strap in.
Let's start by going over the hints people use to support this theory. So we all know the set-up is from this classic line of Blitzo:
Tumblr media
For the most part this moment is meant to be taken as more of a joke. But what has people thinking that Fizz actually took Blitzo up on his offer is when we see him do this upon entering Ozzie's office:
Tumblr media
Fizz wipes his mouth even though we never saw anything happen to him in the mouth prior to this moment. It's not as if he got punched or was still duck taped. What doesn't help is when Fizz gives this expression as he and Oz are riding the elevator:
Tumblr media
This expression has been interpreted in many different ways, but for the sake of this theory, we're going with the interpretation that Fizz looks guilty, especially since he seems to avert his gaze from Ozzie's.
I will grant the theory this in that these aren't bad pieces to use. Again, Helluva Boss has never shied away from showing messy relationships. So what's my counterargument to this theory?
To start off with, I don't believe Fizz would do anything to jeopardize his relationship with Oz. As we see in the next episode, Fizz was too afraid to even not participate in Mammon's Clown Pageant because one of his biggest fears is losing Ozzie.
Tumblr media
I would think that if Fizz and Ozzie were in an exclusive relationship with one another, Fizz wouldn't want to cheat on Ozzie because he values him too much. That would be an instant deal breaker to what they have going on.
Furthermore, while Fizz does hide some aspects of himself even with those he loves, it's pretty obvious to tell what he's feeling. When Blitzo comes with him to the pageant, he seems more annoyed than worried about Blitzo's presence.
Tumblr media
And to help support this further, we do see how Fizz would react when having Blitzo around could potentially ruin him.
Tumblr media
He explicitly calls him out for making fun of his boss. At no point in this episode is Fizz ever worried about what Blitzo could directly do to harm his relationship with Ozzie. If anything, he's more afraid of what Mammon could do to their relationship when Mammon tries to blackmail Ozzie into not letting Fizz quit.
I'm not sure if my counterargument is good or even holds up in fully debunking this theory, but I knew I had to say something for my own peace of mind. And it's not the fault of whoever made this theory or those that believe it. I'm just someone who feels passionate about Fizz and Ozzie and I want to believe the best of their relationship. But I want to know what you think. Do you believe this theory is possible? Do you agree or disagree with my points? Regardless, thanks for reading!

In the original storyboard of the episode, Barbie Wire was supposed to appear in the flashback, but she has been completely erased from the final version. Thoughts?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I should put these warnings up from now on. I might forget though, lol) WARNING: Mentions of death and arson.
Thinking about it . . . . I guess I feel like they may have screwed up there. I don't see why she couldn't be there. This could've given us a hint as to why Barbie doesn't like her brother. I mean, I know this episode isn't about her and even if she was to be there in the final cut, she would only be there for a few seconds. However she was in the circus business too and it could've given an idea for those who aren't thinking about Barbie.
This whole fire thing that Blitzo caused by accident was the reason why his mother may have passed on. From what I can assume anyway (they transition these scenes so fast, its hard to keep up), correct me if I'm wrong. I feel like if Barbie was there, it would give us the idea that she held a grudge against Blitzo because she, like Fizz, blames him for that whole incident especially since their mother died from it. I don't see any other reason why Barbie doesn't want anything to do with him.
At this point, just by this decision to take her out of that scene, I wouldn't be surprised she might end up a forgotten character.

Sorry I gotta vent about what I perceive as a huge goddamn plot hole in helluva boss-specifically the episode “OOPS” b/c like…
Why the hell was Blitzø not able to give Fizz the card?? Why did he throw it on the ground and walk away??? Like, he goes to Fizz’s birthday party, Fizz is OBVIOUSLY very happy to see him, and then Blitzø just??? Walks away???
The ONLY thing I can think of is that Blitzø had low self esteem at that point/maybe didn’t think he was good enough for Fizz? and that’s hinted at with the “wish you were my son” card buckzo gives fizz but like??? I don’t know am I going crazy? Is this actually a “media literacy” situation and I’m just missing something???
And b/c of all the retcons of season 1 and season 1’s character development, there’s very little we actually get to SEE of young Blitzø’s life and how he developed his sense of self hatred that may lead to him walking away from Fizz like that, especially when Fizz is so clearly happy to see him. It’s not too hard to fill in the blanks, but regardless it seems like the scene with Blitzo throwing down the card and starting the fire was only set up that way so the writers could put in a weird misunderstanding as the crux of the conflict between Fizz and Blitz.
It’s like they’re saying “don’t worry audience! Nothing actually complicated happened. It was all just a big misunderstanding. Blitz actually wanted to confess his feelings to Fizz but couldn’t and accidentally set the circus on fire! The only reason the two of them didn’t make amends because “they told me you didn’t want to see me”
VIV. GIRL. WHO THE FUCK IS THEY??? AND WHY WOULD “THEY” STOP BLITZØ OR FIZZ FROM SEEING EACH OTHER
Idk I feel crazy about this but that whole episode was just so bad in places and I don’t even know what setups from season 1 are still supposed to be canon and this whole fucking thing is just a goddamn mess…
Almost like that whole flashback needed more time, maybe even an entire episode devoted to it, but Viv had more important things to focus on, like showing off Alex Brightman singing and jokes about Asmodeus's kaiju sized cock.
And you just know that if any of it does end up being referenced down the line, it's a pleasant bonus, not something to expect. Not from a show like this.
