James Potter's birthday
"They're going to come", Lily sighed, trying to usher Hari away from the table of food laid out.
"They're not coming", James moaned for the millionth time that day.
Lily grabbed his face, "they'll come, okay? Nothing is more important to them."
James nodded, but a moment later looked out the window with a sigh, "I'll understand if they can't come. I mean, with the war on and Sirius and Remus aren't in a great place-"
"They're going to come." Lily recited.
At that, the front door swung open, followed by a loud shout, "Prongs!"
James ran to hug Sirius, the two staying in the embrace for more than a minute, only detaching as Hari crawled towards the two, mumbling 'pa.'
Sirius grinned, instantly sitting on the floor to play with him. James huffed.
"I told you", Lily said, "the 'p' sound is just a lot easier for him than the 'd'."
"nah, you just like me more, don't you, Hari?"
Hari giggled in reply, looking up at James.
James tried to resist a smile, "I feel like he's pranking me."
"It'd serve you right", a voice came from the kitchen.
"Marlene, how the fu-n are you in our kitchen?" Lily shouted, turning around on the sofa to see Marlene and Dorcas in the kitchen doorway.
Sirius hit James' arm, "You gave them keys too? I thought I was special?"
Marlene grinned as she flopped onto the sofa, head on Lily's lap, "They just left their backdoor open", she bopped Lily's nose, "We're in the middle of the war, you'd think you two would learn house safety."
James frowned, lifting up Hari in the air, "Who's going to attack a baby? Look at him, so cute!"
Dorcas stood behind the sofa with a grimace, "He looks like yoda."
"He does!" Marlene laughed, as Lily threw a vegetarian sausage roll at Dorcas.
At that, a knock sounded on the door.
Sirius froze up, eagerly taking Hari to play with as James went to get the door.
"Pete!" James shouted, hugging him in the doorway, Sirius relaxing and ushering him to come in.
"This your house, Sirius?" Lily joked.
Sirius grinned, "I wish. Still can't believe you won't let me live here."
James sat back down next to Sirius and Hari, Peter choosing the armchair instead.
"You've got someone to live with", James said, trying to get Hari to play with the toy deer.
"I'd rather live here", Sirius huffed, getting up to grab some food.
Peter, ever the distractor, grabbed a boardgame from Lily and James' collection, "who wants to play cluedo?"
An hour and a bit later, Dorcas won victorious, but their celebration cut short by another knock on the front door.
This time, Sirius instantly got up to go to the bathroom.
"Remus! I didn't know you were going to make it! Come in, come in" James smiled, directing Remus to the lounge where they all sat.
Lily got up, going to hug Remus who returned it, tightly hugging her back.
He then bent down to face Hari, "Hi Hari, you're getting bigger."
Hari looked at him quizzically but smiled nonetheless.
"That's what happens when you don't come round for months."
Remus turned to look at Sirius across the room, before turning between James and Lily, "Sorry about that, I've been really busy recently."
"It's fine, Moony", James said, a hand on his shoulder.
Sirius turned and stomped away, fleeing to the back garden.
James moved to go after them, but Peter got up and stopped him, "I'll go. Stay here and enjoy your birthday."
James let him go instead, turning back to Remus to hug him, "I missed you."
"Same, you don't understand how much" Remus sighed, "I can't stay for long though, my shift starts in half an hour."
"What?" James let go.
"The part time tutoring was barely covering anything, and the money Da saved up for when I moved out has ran out so I got a bartending gig at nights."
James instantly went to his wallet, "You know I'll give you however much you need. Just come on- stay, I haven't seen you in months."
"I can't take your money, Prongs."
"Please, come on. I haven't seen you for months and now you're only staying for five minutes? Just-Just take it and then you can stay here and skip your shift. Just this once."
"That's not how it works, I'd get fired. And I've told you, I'm not taking your money. I can deal with this myself."
James sighed, "I just want to hang out with you again."
Remus grabbed something from his bag and held it out, "I got you a gift."
James smiled and took it.
"It's an apron. I made it, well with Mam's directions, I think it was the longest phone call I've ever been on, she kept shouting at me in a mix of Spanish and Welsh. Terrifying."
James laughed and brought him into a hug, "exactly how we felt everytime you got angry."
Remus laughed, moving away to hug the others before he had to leave.
Sirius and Peter came back in, Sirius seeming even more irked than before.
He eyed Remus near the door, his coat and shoes still on.
"Leaving so soon?"
Remus huffed, "Leave it, Sirius. We can talk later?"
"When's later? 5 weeks? 6? Cause that's how long it's been since I last saw you?"
Remus clenched his jaw, "Dumbledore assigned me a mission, I told you."
"But why are you constantly going on these month long missions all the time, when the reat of us only get week long ones at most. What the fuck is so important for you to disappear for that fucking long?"
"Sirius!" Both James and Lily shouted.
Remus closed his eyes for a moment before speaking in a low voice, "Can we please not do this here?"
Sirius frowned in frustration, "If we don't do this here, then we'll never talk because you're never actually around to talk to! Hari doesn't even know who you are and you're his godfather!"
Remus took a step towards the door, "You think I want be gone all the time? I hate it! I hate being on these missions! I hate being away from everyone and missing every single thing! I mean, Marlene's got a ring on her finger and I have no clue when that happened!"
"Four months ago", Dorcas said, quietly.
Sirius smirked, "four months ago, Moony. They had a party to celebrate and we got sent an invitation. I couldn't tell you though, because you were off who knows where! As usual!"
"I can't help it if Dumbledore makes me go on month long order missions! I can't help it if I have to work day and night! I can't help it if I just want to sleep when I finally get home but I can't cause my partner's acting as if I killed their brother or something!"
Sirius froze, and looked away before retorting, "Maybe you did. How would I know what you get up to?"
James excused himself and went upstairs without a look back.
Lily stood up, grabbing Hari, and paused beside Remus, "I think you should go."
"I'm so sorry, Lily. Can you please tell him I'm sorry."
"I will", she promised, squeezing his shoulder before climbing the stairs.
"You two need to fucking deal with whatever's happening between the two of you", Dorcas said, sitting upright on the sofa.
Remus nodded, "Congratulations on your engagement", he replied before leaving, a small look towards Sirius as he left.
Marlene and Dorcas whispered to each other before announcing they should all probably leave as well.
Peter and Sirius both walked out together, Peter turned to them, "Remus has changed a lot, hasn't he? Do you think somethings up?"
Sirius nodded, "You know Moody told us there was a spy in the order at the last meeting?"
Peter nodded, guilt written on his face. Sirius saw it, taking it as guilt of suspecting Remus as the spy. Sirius felt the same guilt, after all.
"I wanted it to be fun", James said, curled in a ball on their bed, "I thought it'd be like old times, just chatting, and drinking, playing games. I miss it."
Lily nodded, "I think we all do."
"I miss him and I miss my parents."
Lily grabbed two framed photos by their bedside, "Talk to them then. I'll give you some privacy", she got up to leave before James stopped her.
"Can you come back when I talk to Reggie? It feels right, all three of us."
Lily nodded, "course."
He turned to the photo of his parents as the door shut, "Hey Maa, Pitā. It's my birthday! 21 now... I feel old and I hate it. I can't imagine how you two felt", he laughed, "sorry... I'm a little mad at Sirius right now. I know, I know, you hate it when we argue. But, we're not technically arguing. They're just- they can't even stand the sight of Remus right now. Which is crazy because they're practically soulmates and it's just that Remus is having a hard time right now, which Sirius doesn't seem to understand! And-and it's my birthday today. I used to be so selfish as a kid and I know that and I feel like I'm maturing, you know? I'm trying not to be so selfish. But it's my birthday- it was my party and Remus turns up an hour late and only stays for five minutes in which he and Sirius get into a huge argument in front all of us and Sirius swears in front of Hari. And it just- it pissed me off. A lot. I feel like I'm constantly having to do things, change things for everyone. We always have meat for Remus, even though I'm a vegetarian and I can't stand the sight of it. We built a smoking area in the garden for the both of them- obsessed with those things, they are. But it's just- they couldn't just get along for five minutes for me- just five minutes! And maybe that's selfish... but I just want to be selfish for once."
James wiped his tears away with his sleeve so it wouldn't drip on his parents.
"Maa, I wrote down all your recipes yesterday, every single one, and I'm going to teach Hari. And we're going to fly to India next year to meet with the rest of the family, Lily's really excited. She's never gone on an airplane before. And Hari will be able to talk by then so he can say hello to everyone. He's so cute. Re- um Regulus brought clothes for him years ago and they fit luckily. We were really worried they wouldn't. They're all green though", he laughed quietly, "if Hari gets put in Slytherin, I'm blaming him... I'm planning to see you two, and him tomorrow. I know Hari and Lily usually come, but we think he's been there too much. He gets all sad and quiet whenever we go. We don't want him to spend his entire childhood in graveyards."
James placed the photo back onto the bedside table, "I miss you both so much. I don't know how I'm meant to live for so long without you both around."

This has been stuck in my head ever since reading the little Jily/PJO mircofic by @alittlebitofeverything23 So, now I have to join in. With 600 words we also humbly offer this to @jilymicrofics though it might not quite fit a prompt.
Capture the flag was the highlight of camp activities and to James Potter, it was his whole life. He lived for the strategy and fights. It was thrilling! And as a son of Athena, he saw it as a way to honour his godly parent. Nothing quite came close to the pride he could feel swelling in his chest when they won. His offerings smelled extra fragrant on those nights.
He was one of the lucky ones. He had loving mortal parents who had always called him their miracle child. Their gift from the gods. They wrote to him and sent him care packages from home. Who had been sad to let him stay there when he got too old, too skilled. When dangerous things would come to interrupt their time together.
Then there was his brother for all intents and purposes. Sirius. From the moment they met, they were inseparable. Always by each other's side. Be it in battle or kitchen duty. They were half the noise coming from the Athena cabin and all the trouble.
Their third man came from the Apollo Cabin, shaggy-haired and warm like the sun itself. Always down for a laugh and best of all; remarkable foresight. Absolutely invaluable when planning anything. Where the other team went in blind, James trusted blindly in his friend's precognition.
Their quartet was rounded up by Peter, son of Demeter. Provider of snacks and deceptively sneaky despite his heavy footfalls. Always keen to listen to the whispers of the forest to give them an edge.
With the four of them, they never lost. Holding an incredible record of seven wins in a row. Until she showed up.
Lily arrived around the same time as them. But unlike the four boys remained unclaimed for a long time. Long enough that people started to speculate.
Some said she had to be a daughter of Apollo, picking up healing as easily as the senior campers. But Apollo never shied away from claiming his children. Especially not those as capable as her.
After hearing her scream and carry on at none other than James for pushing her into the lake, people decided Ares must be her father. The god of war did nothing, even when she broke James's precious winning streak.
Plenty of campers mentioned Aphrodite and Lily would laugh at them, flick her fizzy braids over her shoulder and walk away. A brave few even subtly asked Mr. D. why he had not claimed his daughter yet. But they would be laughed off the porch.
Whispers starting to go around the camp. Lily was a forbidden child, a daughter of Zeus himself. That is why she remained unclaimed. She was doomed to be Hermes's guest forever.
It was rare for a half-blood to be claimed by anything other than the Big 12. That no one seemed to figure it out, to see it coming.
Lily was claimed by Hecate. A child of magic itself. Fearsome on the battlefield and off.
To James, this meant one thing, and one thing alone. He needed her on his team. Partly because he believed that with real magic they would be utterly unstoppable. Which was accepted with a hum of agreeing voices during their strategy meeting.
Partly because he was convinced he could get the redhead to kiss him if she would only see how skilled he actually was. This he only brought up with his friends, who laughed at him.
Little did they know that, eventually, it was James who'd get the last laugh. Flag raised high in victory, he had captured it. Another victory under his belt.
Though no capture tastes as sweet as Lily who had captured his lips.

Severus's eyes darkened at her naughty remark. "Not after you teased me like that," he chuckled, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "But yes. Anything to support you, darling. I daresay we might take away from the overall mission with our relationship's debut," he said. He had no intention of hiding her in any way. Everyone knew her time at Hogwarts was a farce. She could get these scores and any job she wanted with her eyes closed.
It didn't take him much longer to get ready for the evening. He was in a new set of robes he'd had tailored, and Hermione had helped him do his hair. It was down, hiding the scarring on his neck. Usually, for an event like this, he would have pulled it back in a neat ponytail, but he was more self-conscious these days.
"Let's go."
//
Severus sat front and centre as Hermione gave her speech. Everyone seemed to be hanging off every word she said, but he couldn't blame them. She was an exceptional speaker, and more beautiful than any person he'd ever seen.
They had shown up together and you would have thought the Dark Lord himself had risen up and appeared in a suit and tie. Flashes from cameras blinded them as they walked, his arm wrapped protectively around her waist. They had started off with intertwined hands, but things got a little chaotic, so he held her close and didn't let go.
It calmed down after a while, though he could still sense looks in his direction. To be fair to Hermione, those looks could be about something having nothing to do with her in his bed. He had gotten used to it, a feeling he and Hermione had in common.
The opinions of these people meant nothing to him. Severus hoped his lover felt the same. Long gone were the days when he concerned himself with the drivel people spouted off at any given time. The rumours were even more outlandish now than they had been before the war's conclusion. Though, when the news spread about his history with Lily, he had drawn the line, and had sued the Prophet for libel. He hadn't won the case, of course, but the precedent was set and they left him alone for the most part.
Well... until now. He wasn't sure there was anything that could stop the articles now.
As Hermione finished up, he stood up and clapped, the rest of the attendees following suit. After a few moments, he slipped away and went behind the platform, taking Hermione's hand to help her down the steps in her heels. "You were so well-spoken," he complimented. "They'll be fools not to award you funding. How much more of this do you want to endure before we can sneak away and get pizza somewhere?" he teased, squeezing her hand. The food served was nice, but... he and Hermione shared in the simple pleasures in life. Neither of them had come from money, and had very humble, muggle beginnings, so he was happy she understood even his most basic cravings.
Hermione draped herself back against the sofa as she admired both her handiwork and the man who made it look so good. This had been nice, first spending time together and then getting to do something so fun. He looked good in a braid, like some sort of elven prince.
It hadn't escaped her notice the way he had been so jumpy when she first started either. What little he had told her of his childhood, it made it all the more special that he could trust her not to yank him around or anything of the sort this night or ever.
"A girl has to have her hobbies." She flipped her own curls over her shoulder with a little grin, so thankful for the number of spells and charms she had learned over the years. Something that had started out as a way to hide something she was ashamed of was now one of her favorite ways to relax.
The boys would lose their minds if they saw the two of them now, but a part of her was a little amused at that. She still loved both of them as her family, the three of them as tight knit as ever after everything they'd been through. But there were parts of herself she much more enjoyed keeping between her and Severus.
Clothes were certainly not one of those things when he looked at her like that. "Oh really? And what do you plan on doing to remedy that, professor?" She grinned and slid her arms around his neck, appreciating the growl that sent a shiver down her spine as he pressed her back into the cushions.
Too easy.
//
Hermione stared at the evening gown laying on the foot of the bed, wondering not for the first time if this was really a good idea. More and more of her things had been inching their way into Severus' home, Harry giving his blessing on their time together for the most part. He did want to be included a good part of the time, but it was nice to be able to take him out to do Muggle things with them.
Plus the way both Severus and Harry had looked like little lost puppies in the supercenter had been too adorable. There were stores, and then there was Asda. The bright lights and shiny baubles alone were enough to entertain them.
But muggle things were fairly easy now… it was the wizarding world that was giving her trouble. Her potion wasn't completed, not entirely, but they'd made enough progress with the trials she'd been invited to one of the Ministry balls to give a speech about what they were trying to do.
Draco said it would be good funding for the lab, make sure they could really hone in on what needed to be done. Ingredients were expensive, even for simple things - much more so for experimentation. Compelling words coming from the mouth of a tight little dress would be enough to sway more than one big wallet.
It was part of the system, being touted around as a war hero… but that wasn't even what was making her nervous. Severus was stepping back into this world - for her. To stand by her side and support what they were trying to do together. It was only right that he was there - by this point it was their project much more so than hers.
She smiled as he stepped out of the bathroom, hair still damp from the shower and the droplets clinging to his chest. "More time and I would want to try licking those off of you." She teased, trailing a hand down his chest. "You're absolutely sure about this?"

Tomorrow | S.B
Paring: Sirius Black X Wife!Reader
Summary: James is nervous to marry Lily so he asks his best friend how he managed to marry his wife.
A/N: I know that this is vote number one instead of number two (which won) however, I decided to scrap what I had for number two because it wasn’t good. This is better and I’ll continue to rewrite number two until it’s to my standards. I hope you understand.
His hands were sweaty. He was nervously pulling his hair which received multiple slaps from his best friend for ruining his hair. James stepped foot in the full-length mirror readjusting his bow tie while Sirius stood behind him, chuckling at his nervous best friend.
James sighed, “How’d you do it, Pads?”
“Mm?”
“How did you marry Y/n?”
Sirius chuckled, “Have you turned daft?”
James tilted his head in confusion, “You were my best man! You were there the entire time.” Sirius replied playfully.
“No, no, I mean, how did you really do it? Like step on the altar and marry her?”
“I just did?” Sirius answered, and James gave him a look, “Bullshit.”
“Okay, fine! Fine!” Sirius relented, “I was practically shitting myself. Y/n means a lot to me, ya’ know?”
James was silent, letting his best friend rant about his wife, “Y/n means everything to me. She’s been with me through thick and thin. There’s nothing more I wanted than to marry her even if it was in the midst of this war.”
“You’ve been chasing Lily for years, mate. I can promise you that she wouldn’t have said yes if she didn’t really want to.” Sirius assured.
“You’re sure?” James inquired insecurely, “I’m one hundred percent sure.”
A knock resonated on the door with a soft voice on the other side, “It’s just me!”
The female voice on the other side of the door walked in, styled h/c hair and makeup placed upon her face. She was greeted with Sirius, and a hug pulled tightly into his chest. She saw James looking at them nervously, and she let go of Sirius to hug James tightly.
“You’re going to be okay? I promise.” She stated, pulling apart to look at his hazel eyes, “Lily loves you. Godric, she loves you more than anything!”
“Thanks, Y/n.” James smiled softly, and Y/n pulled her lips to his ear to whisper, “Lily’s liked you since second year.”
James and Y/n laughed as they pulled apart, “But that stays between us!”
“Oi!” Sirius interjected playfully, “Taking my wife, are you?”
“Never.” James replied smiling, all nerves having left, “Thank you both for being here. Seriously it means a lot to me.”
They smiled, “Anytime.”
Someone cracked open the door and spoke, “We need the maid of honor and the best man so we can start.”
“Suppose that’ll be us?” Sirius questioned teasingly, “I think so.” Y/n smiled.
Y/n kissed James’ cheek, “You’ll do fine, and we’ll see you soon.”
“Of course, Mrs.Black.”
Sirius wrapped his arm around Y/n as they walked out to the aisle and altar. Sirius took his spot on the right and Y/n on the left. Smiling at each other from the side, remembering what it was like only a few months ago when they got married. When Lily was in the maid of honor spot and James was in the best man spot. Now roles were reversed.
James stepped out, gaining a reassuring smile from them both. Lily following not too far after with her father. James and Lily looked like lovesick puppies. It was adorable. Vows were exchanged, and tears were shed, especially from James and Lily. On the alter, someone took pictures of the four of them together. Sirius told an absurd joke making them all laugh. A picture was taken at the exact moment.
It was nice. Y/n and Sirius sat at a table together. His arm was around her shoulders as they watched their best friends dance together and laugh together. Sirius took the clips out of his wife’s hair and scratched her scalp, causing her to move into his hand. Multiple hours of clips in Y/n’s hair gave her headache, and Sirius was relieving it.
“Feel nice, love?”
“Yes, these bloody clips. Make sure you save them. I’m going to throw them at Lily later.” Y/n stated, and Sirius chuckled, “Mhm, okay.”
Hours later, James and Lily began to act like fools. Y/n picked up one of the clips from the table, aiming precisely with some help from Sirius - a former Quidditch Beater - and threw it at her. At first, she didn’t notice, but after the third one, she did. The smile on her face was unmistakable.
Lily picked up the three clips and turned toward her maid of honor with her hair down completely. Another one was thrown at her, and Lily laughed loudly. Then one was thrown at Y/n and Sirius. Fortunately, Lily threw it and missed Y/n completely, instead hitting Sirius right in the face. James, Lily, and Y/n were laughing like the only people in the building.
“Oi!” Sirius yelled, “Control your wife, Prongs!”
Y/n stood up, reaching a hand out for Sirius, “C’mon Siri. Let’s go join them.”
Sirius smirked and took her hand, joining their best friend dancing together, jumping around like fifth-year Gryffindors in the common room. They looked like complete idiots, but that didn’t matter. Lily and Y/n holding hands, twirling each other around, laughing together. James and Sirius began to throw the clips at each other. Remus and Peter were on the side watching the idiots.
Lily and Y/n traded. Y/n danced with James, and Lily danced with Sirius. The girls could remember back in sixth year complaining about their boyfriends in the girl's dorms but always remembering that they love their idiots. When the night was over, just the four of them at Godrics Hollow, they just laughed the night away.
“So, Mrs.Potter, how’s it feel?” Y/n teased, “Surprisingly, it feels great.” Lily replied.
“How about you, Mrs.Black?”
“Being married to Sirius is a dream.” Y/n joked, “No, no, but in all seriousness, he’s delightful, sweeter than I imagined.”
Lily’s eyebrows quirked, “What’s he like?”
“Perfect?” Y/n replied, “Does laundry, cooks, cleans, makes my coffee every morning before order stuff?”
“Mother of Merlin! I never would’ve expected-“ Lily exclaimed, “I know! It’s crazy!” Y/n interrupted.
“We got lucky, didn’t we?”
“Indeed we did, sister.”
They clinked their glasses of firewhiskey together. Both girls finally married, finally together. Lily and Y/n hit the motherload with their husbands. Both were gentlemen and chivalry experts. Both girls fell asleep together on the couch, leaving both boys to bring them to bed. Sirius and Y/n in the guest bedroom. James and Lily in their bedroom.
The following morning the four of them woke up. Lily and Y/n were making breakfast while the two men tried to help despite having no knowledge of cooking. Two hours later, breakfast was made and being eaten at the dinner table. Clinks of forks and sounds of chewing were the only sounds coming from the table.
Until Sirius spoke up, “So, how was yesterday, newlyweds?”
“Perfect.” James answered, Sirius then turned to Lily, “Despite everything going on, I think we really needed it.”
Y/n nodded, “Completely agree. It was nice to let loose for a couple of hours.”
The conversation then went quiet, “I don’t know what I’d do without you guys.” Said James solemnly.
“Yesterday was great, but what we don’t know is the future, and I know that right now it’s a dark time. It’s probably one of the lowest points I’ve been in my life. My parents being terribly sick, the Dark Lord on the rise supposedly. Everything seems to be going in a downhill spiral.”
“But for the first time in months, yesterday I felt like a first-year at Hogwarts performing my first prank. I felt like that second-year who blew up Y/n’s cauldron for fun. The third-year who decided it’d be a brilliant idea to dye Sirius’ hair pink.” James stated as everyone laughed, “Let’s just say I didn’t have hair for a week.” He murmured.
“Fourth year when I stole Remus’ book, and he nearly killed me. Fifth-year, when I turned into an animagus for Moony. Sixth year when Lily finally decided to give me a chance. Seventh year when we blew up fireworks in the Great Hall for the graduating class of 1978.”
“Not knowing what tomorrow brings leaves us anxious and nervous. But there’s one thing I’m sure of.” James informed, “That if anything ever happens to me, just know, that every second we’ve spent together, every memory we have together, I hold them close to my heart. They all mean something to me. Even if it’s as simple as sitting in the common room together.”
“James-“
“I’m not finished.” He interrupted, “This is a scary time, but I’ve always been certain of one thing, that thing is you guys. You guys have always been constants in my life. Always been there for me through thick and thin. Sirius being my brother, Lily being my wife, and Y/n being the little sister I never got and my shoulder to cry on.”
Y/n chuckled, “Hey!”
“I still love you.” James replied teasingly through his tears, and she smiled, “I know, Prongs.”
“I’ll eventually have to repeat the same speech to Moony and Wormtail, but for right now, I haven’t felt happier. I wanted to say all of this at the wedding, but Lily didn’t want to dampen anyone’s mood, which I understand. Yesterday was a breath of fresh air for what’s to come.”
“But tomorrow, we will all go back to our Order missions and meetings. One thing I can be sure of is that I can always trust you guys, through and through. If for some reason something happens to me, just know I love you guys.”
“We love you too, James.” Lily replied.
Sirius sniffled and smiled through his teary eyes, “Nothing will happen to you guys. Not with me here. You guys have given me too much to let you guys go without a fight.”
“And that’s why we love you, Padfoot.” James stated, smiling at him.
“Everything will be okay. We’ll get through this.” Y/n said with hopeful optimism that would always brighten her friend's days.

Remus Lupin headcanons for his birthday
(Even tho I missed it by about an hour)
He doesn’t have a good relationship with his father, even before the attack
He was always kind of small and scrawny, and he just grew to be tall and lanky
He grew up moving around a lot and watching the strain it took on his parents to be mobile
When he was eleven, he met Dumbledore and it changed his life, he became a willing servant
Going to Hogwarts was so amazing and cool, making friends was an added bonus
He hit his growth spurts first, making him a good six/eight inches taller for about a year until his friends joined him
(He was still the tallest at almost 6’5”)
James often asked him how the view was
Hogwarts became his safe haven when his mum died and his dad remarried a year later
When he was home he spent so much time alone, and he grew very depressed in the summer
Remus took the leap and started writing Lily the summer between fourth and fifth year, knowing that her home life wasn’t very easy
It made their friendship easier to form when they both became prefects that school year
Remus loved being a prefect and helping younger students, he got James and Sirius to help out with tutoring, James was the only one of the pair to keep it up
Sirius and Remus did butt heads a lot, but they were both really close and often shared stories about their home life together
(Personally I don’t ship wolfstar, but this is where they would start to realize their feelings for each other and start dating - end of 5th year/beginning of 6th year)
Remus was the one to bridge the gap of Lily’s in sureness about the other three boys, Sirius was the first Marauder after Remus to become her friend
He really took on the role of “best friend” for Lily after her falling out with the human garbage
He also sat in between James and Lily and listened to them flirt with each other with a straight face
His blank face was his strongest disguise
He left his home when he was seventeen, crashing with the Potters too
He really took on his “furry little problem” by himself once he was of age, but his friends didn’t allow him too
Graduating for Hogwarts was such a bittersweet moment and he wished his parents, or really his mum, was there to see it
He didn’t have the luxury of throwing all of his efforts into the war, he worked A LOT odd jobs during that time
He was the first person to find out about Harry, holding Lily’s hand when the test turned positive
He constantly reminded James and Lily that this wasn’t the end
(What he didn’t know and would never have wished too)
He held Lily’s hand when she went into labor and watched Harry come into the world
He was the first person after James and Lily to hold Harry
James PROMISED Remus that their second baby would be his godchild
(James was hoping for a daughter, sure that Remus had more of the gentle touch for a little girl)
Lily made Remus carry around a current photo of Harry on every mission (she did this with all four of her boys)
(Voldemort always knew what Harry looked like for the first year of his life)
Sirius gave Harry the toy broom, Remus saved up to give him a toy Quidditch ball set
After James and Lily passed, Remus was a shell of himself
When he met Harry again 12 years later on the train, he thought he was looking at a ghost, especially when he saw Lily’s eyes
He never forgave himself for leaving Harry behind in his own grief
Teaching Harry was one of his greatest joys and he was honored whenever Harry wrote him with a question about anything
He told Harry a lot more stories about James and Lily than Sirius ever did, his memory was much better
Kingsley noticed Tonks affection for Remus first, and he made a bet with Madeye and Sirius about it
(Sirius would never know the outcome, but Madeye won on a technicality, Kingsley gave an actual date and not a month and year)
Of course Teddy was an accident, but he brought so much joy to Tonks even if Remus wasn’t always there
She would’ve asked Harry to be godfather whether Remus returned to her or not
Remus advocated for Ginny to be Teddy’s godmother
If Remus had known that he would die at the Battle of Hogwarts, he would’ve still gone, he wanted Teddy to have more opportunities than he ever had
Teddy met Harry for the first time at his parents’ funeral
Remus would always be proud of these two boys, they always meant the world to him
Happy birthday Remus, may you always be remembered in light and love 💕

As Scott falls, he dreams about flowers.
He’s in a garden he thinks he recognizes, but he isn’t sure. It’s secluded, between large hills, with a gate blocking the only natural entrance. There’s a pond with lily pads, the only disturbance to the clear water being little waterfalls that trickle down another hill. On the other side is a house that seems to go into the hillside, with a round door and round windows.
Completely covering the grass are countless flowers. Yellow sunflowers, white lilies, blue azaleas, red roses. They color the area, growing up the hillside, along the pond, over the top of the house inside the hill.
After the chaos and fear and death that plagued the world, it’s what he’s been waiting for. What he’s been yearning for. What he won for.
The more steps he takes, the more he recognizes where he is. The stalks of sugarcane are so familiar as he passes by, the trickle of the water something he shouldn’t be used to but is. He walks until he reaches a bench that looks over the pond, halfway to the doorway in the hill.
It’s his base from the world before his last one, he can tell now. The little hobbit-like hideaway that he had lived in for what had felt like years, but couldn’t have been more than a few months. His hands run along the bench, tracing over grooves in the wood that shouldn’t feel so familiar from a world he should have forgotten.
It’s idyllic. It’s serene. It’s calm.
It’s empty.
His hand brushes over the seat and runs over something carved into the wood. A heart scratched in, cut deep and inexpertly. He remembers when he had built that bench with Jimmy, something he can’t believe he had forgotten. They had fought over what type of wood to use, lighthearted and comically, until Jimmy had relented - Scott had a better eye for design than his husband, after all.
He went and found the tree to cut while Jimmy prepared their work station, then they built the damn thing, which had taken a lot longer than he had anticipated. It was a last minute addition Jimmy had his heart set on, something he wanted to add before they had to head out to the desert.
Come on Scott, think about it. A nice spot to sit and relax next to the pond when we get back home!
By the time they had it built and set up, it was time to don their armor and head off to meet their allies. And yet even then, Jimmy had insisted on adding one more thing, fast with the dagger he hadn’t had the time to sharpen. You got to pick the wood, so I get to make the carving. Of course we need a carving, how else will we remember we built it together?  He had tried to be careful, but the heart came out clumsy and messy, and so endearingly like him.
Scott sits down on the bench, traces the shape of the heart with his thumb, and is overcome with such a sorrow it nearly knocks the air out of his lungs.
Jimmy never had gotten the chance to relax on his bench next to the pond.
It’s a simple thought, a simple realization, something that didn’t matter in the last world he was in. Where he could remember that he had something that had lived and died with Jimmy, yet couldn’t care. Jimmy was a thousand ways removed from him, and that’s just how it was.
It was a moment just like everything else, short lived and removed. It was fleeting and gone before it should have been.
Scott sits on the bench in front of the pond, and it’s peaceful and soft, but it’s all wrong.
He thinks that this should be home to him, no matter how many servers ago it might have been. The pond is clear and the flowers are sweet, and it’s removed from the violence and misery of everything else. There’s no war here, no boogeymen, no need to keep his wits sharp and his sword sharper. He’s safe somewhere he knows, and it feels like this should be like he’s returning home.
But it’s empty.
It’s the walls he used to know and the flowers he used to plant but it’s not home, no matter how much he wants it to be. Home was the sound of laughter that rang whenever he had misplaced a block. It was soft eyes and softer hands, both which would hold him in a grip he never wanted to get out of.
It was flower crowns and stale bread. It was tripping up the same set of stairs no matter how many times he climbed them. It was two wedding bands made of iron because they couldn’t afford anything nicer, but it could have been stone for all he had cared.
Home wasn’t the bench, but it was the heart that was carved into it, messy and last minute but made with love. And Scott, more than anything, just wants to go home.
He traces the heart again and wonders how he could have lost this. How he could have forgotten it at all.
This longing is familiar, and it's heavy, sagging his shoulders and shortening his breath. It catches in the back of his throat and it burns like a fire, the smoke watering his eyes and clogging his airways.
Why couldn’t he have loved him in any other world?
In this world, where betrayal was a second thought and conflict was a promise. Where death wasn’t something you waited for, but something you had to constantly avoid, to fight tooth and nail to survive. There was nothing to be had but tragedy.
Yet somehow, from the blood soaked earth, flowers had bloomed. And he had been the one foolish enough to hope they wouldn’t be trampled.
In such a world, love wasn’t sustainable. It wasn’t fair. It was to be exploited, to be lost, because anything of worth was burned to ashes without a care in the world.
It wasn’t one of those fairytales that the two of them had taken turns to tell during the night, when the moon was waning and the mobs were loud outside the hills. There was no magic from the power of their love, there was no happy ending.
He had loved, and he had loved, and he had loved, and then he lost. It never would have been enough, no matter how much he cared, no matter how hard he fought. Even now he loved, and there was nothing he could do with it. It was an overflow, an excess, it shook his hands and hurt his heart.
It couldn’t bring Jimmy back.
Their love was never going to last. It was never going to win their wars or bring them to a better tomorrow. And it was never meant to. It was more important than anything, it was hope, it was life, but it was never strong enough to hold the weight of the world.
Scott traces the heart again, thumb almost numb from the repetitive motion.
Of course we need a carving, how else will we remember we built it together?
He thinks of his husband, of his kind heart and terrible luck. His husband who never got to sit on the bench that he insisted on carving a heart into. He remembers how exasperated he was, waiting for Jimmy to do something he thought that he could have done later. How he rolled his eyes, but waited all the same, because they would be late but really he felt fondness at the gesture. He remembers teasing Jimmy for a job poorly done, ribbing him until a blush had spread across his cheeks.
It was the last time Scott had heard him laugh, gleeful and careless and loud.
It hurts to remember, but it hurts even more that he had ever forgotten. That they had to restart and what they had would never be real again, would only have been in those moments that were fleeting and left behind.
As much as he had lost in love, he had at least loved once.
He had sat in the grass with his husband as the sun was setting, turning to admire how the sunlight had cast a golden glow across his face. He had watched Jimmy’s eyes soften and his lips turn up into a smile at the sight, but he couldn’t be bothered to look at the changing colors of the sky. Not when the soft look of wonder and delight on his husband's face was so much more beautiful.
They had sat next to each other in front of the fire, a woolen blanket draped across both of their shoulders. It was the night after the explosion in front of Renchanting. Jimmy had held a cup of tea that he had made, and Scott held his hands over his when they had begun to tremble. They were shaken, but they were warm, and they were together.
He had taken Jimmy’s hand to pull him out into the rain, giggling at the shriek he let out in the downpour. Scott, it’s freezing! He had turned around and taken both hands in his, smiling wide and laughing. The water had almost instantly drenched them both. Then warm up and dance with me!
And they had built a bench when they should have been preparing for war. Instead of sharpening their swords or brewing more potions, instead of contacting Scar and Grian to make a third or fourth plan. They built a bench in front of the pond and next to the alliums, a bench with one leg slightly shorter than all the rest and a heart on its seat.
It was temporary and it was bittersweet and it had no way of surviving, but it had happened. He had danced and laughed and cried and loved. It was destined for tragedy, but it had been real.
Scott traces the heart again, and again, and again.
Even if it was gone, it had been real. That had to mean something, even if he would forget it all again when he woke up. Even if it had happened in another life. Even if he’ll never get it back again.
It was real. It was real. It was real.
A wind blows through the hideaway, ruffling his hair and sending ripples across the pond. All the flowers in the little valley bend with it, waving and dancing in a mess of color. Scott closes his eyes and feels the kiss of the breeze on his face, the colors still imprinted behind his eyelids. He doesn’t move to wipe the tears off of his cheeks.
Scott falls, and he dreams about flowers. He dreams about what should be home, about a little heart carved into wood.
It’s idyllic. It’s serene. It’s calm.
It’s empty.

text: Heya An 🥺 tysm for your sweet words and for this amazing request!! and I would GLADY do this request :,) (i rlly hope you like it 💖) Also have a great day!! and make sure to take care of yourself, love you! ✨. this really gave me feels writing this i-
synopsis: Levi has decided to propose to Y/N after such a long tough journey and finally out of the walls. The end of the battle and the war. He wanted to live outside the walls with his only special Y/N. How will he proposal Y/N though? And how will he act?
soft & cute fluff, modern au ♡ —
Finally...Levi is going to do it 'Today'. No more backing away. He had it all planned out and everything. Why was he still...hesitant?
"I wonder how Y/N will react....will they even like the ring I got for them..?" Levi said as he was hold the ring box and looking at it.
'Wait....Will they even say yes?' He put it back on the drawer and start pacing around.
'Ugh...I cant believe this...I am actually being nervous? Fuck...I find killing 40 titans at the same time way easier than this...so much for used to being called humanity's 'strongest' solider'. Fucking hell.'
He stopped, and turned around. 'No...If I don't then someone will take Y/N away from me.' That got him back up and he finally took out the ring box he had there for a month now. He will do it. Today.
Levi is such a private man and he loves that only between you guys. Not really a big fan with bringing everyone together and all, he couldn't even think words clearly when he looks at you and stutters, so how will he do that with EVERYONE here while proposing and saying what he thinks his ‘cliché’ speech? Hell no.
He wanted it to be so special. He wanted to remember this memory and grave that in both of your minds. He was going to propose to his lover this evening.
He had the idea already figured out, and it took him around a month to prepare it and get it perfect. He was doing this all while seeing you everyday, and had to try and hide it from you. Which kind of made you a bit of suspicious. He would usually go out during the afternoon to that 'same' expensive ring shop and stand there for 3 hours trying to pick the perfect ring.
"Um...Sir, I can help you if you would like?" The retail assistant would say as she approached Levi who had such a serious look, as if he was making a life or death decision. "No. I need to pick this, cant be someone else." He would say and his eyes glued to the collection of beautiful rings. He takes a long time to buy that ring just for 'you' that day. Nothing but full of his love all poured into it as he finally picked one.
He called up the people to set up and get ready with the preparation today at 10pm.
After he hanged up, he went to his contacts and pressed 'My Dearest'.
Y/N picked up, “H-Hey Love, how are you hm?" Shit. Why did I fucking stutter, I hate my life. He would say cursing himself under his breathe.
You picked that up, and started to chuckle which made his heart flutter. "I'm alright love! Just out with Sasha and Christa shopping....Is something wrong?"
Levi: "No. Can I see you tonight at 10pm? I will pick you up." Please say yes for this....
"Hmm...Yup sure! See you then, Love you!" You said that so cheerfully that he wanted to see you 'now' and hold you.
"Great. I love you too Y/N." He said that and he was holding his phone so tightly. This is it.
It was 10pm, and Levi has picked you up. You looked so amazing and beautiful to him, that he just stood there and gazed at you so lovely, losing his focus.
You started to blush, "Levi..." you said as you waved your hand at him.
"Oh...Um...You look gorgeous." Fuck Levi why do you keep messing up, I haven't even take them there yet.
Levi then took you to one of the top 10 hotels that they had, but this one was special. It was a beach resort hotel! When you both got in to check in, everything was made in glass, sparkling everywhere. But you were the one sparkling beautifully to him.
"Oh my god Levi...I did not expect this! If you told me we were going to a beach resort I would have dressed up so pretty."
“Tch, dont be silly. You are already pretty.." He said that as his cheeks had a faint red blush.
As you guys checked in, you sat and laid on the bed on your back. “Hmm, so what is the occasion Levi?" You go straight to the point which got him off guard. Of course you would ask.
"Nothing, Just that I remembered you wanted to come here so I decided to take us both here today" His heart was now racing. He was actually going to do it. You looked outside and saw the beautiful beach shore.
“Oh lets go check it out!!". You got excited and got up from the bed.
“No! Not now...lets get comfortable and change. I even bought you a gift. If you want to wear it...and we can head to the beach shore, Hm? Ill see you there.”
Weird. Levi would always go to places with you and he has always waited for you, but today was different.
As you changed to the outfit Levi bought for you, you went towards the sliding glass door to open it and stepped outside to find Levi.
As you stepped outside and wore the sandals that was there, you headed  towards the beach shore which was kind of dark. Not much lights.
“L-Levi..!!” You yelled out, a bit nervous. As soon as you called out his name, lights started to brighten as you were approaching the shore and you see beautiful decorations that was hanged up, full of beautiful roses, lilies and others that were glooming with the light.
You see Levi standing by the shore, and he turned around. “Y/N.”
He called out your name instead of ‘love’ which meant that he was serious.
You started to get worried. What's going on? You stopped and stood beside him looking at him.
“Remember...When we first saw the ocean...and first stood at the beach shore.” He said that as his grey eyes were looking at the waves that were driven by the wind so calmly.
“Yea...I do remember it clearly. It was one of my best moments.”
He continued. “We...won, and some of our comrades survived, but...we did it and got through it and I am glad you are here alive with me.” He started to sound....sad? “I never expected this new lifestyle and to be honest, I am glad I am living it with you by my side....You.” He stopped and turned around to look at you. “Stood by my side till the end Y/N, and believed in me, but...not only that but you also saw me as a human being while everyone thought I was heartless. You gave me hope, and you started to make me feel that I deserved to be loved, and I don't think anyone would have made me feel like this if it wasn't for you.”
You stood there so startled, you eyes started to widen. Is Levi really saying this all...? You knew he was a bit talkative with you only but, this....this is different.
Levi then took out what looked like a seashell..? He was looking at it then, handed it over to you.
“Oh wow, this is so pretty!” You said amazed by how it looked and you looked back at Levi.
“Levi, Thank you for your sweet words...I am so happy hearing that from you.” You said while holding on to it, you couldn't stop smiling.
Fuck just say it Levi. “Y/N, I know I have been the hardest to love....so I want to recreate this beach shore memory with asking you something....”
As he was saying that you noticed the seashell, could open? So you did that...and you saw a beautiful diamond ring shining. You froze.
He held your free hand with both of his warm hands and caressed it, “Y/N, will you...m-marry me?” He said that as he looked directly to your eyes that was open up.
Silence. This made Levi worry so much. He looked down but then noticed tears dripping, which made him look back at you so quickly and you started tearing up as the wind started to blow your hair and the ocean waves crashing.
“Yes...I want to be your Mrs. Ackerman. I want to live the rest of my life with you!!” You said that while crying and this made Levi panic, and he quickly hugged you, covering you with his muscular arms and....he started to cry with you too.
“Y/N, thank you. I won’t fail you, I can’t wait to have moments like this for the rest of our lives.” He went back, and looked at your beautiful face, and proceed to kiss your forehead so lovely.
“Y/N!!! Levi!!” You both got startled and looked to the other side and you saw...all of your friends!
“Oh my god....guys!” You saw everyone from Levi’s squad including Hanji who was screaming out your names and all your friends started to run towards you guys.
You then noticed, the whole beach shore started to brighten and you saw beautiful wedding decorations hanged up, heart balloons, a huge long table filled with delicious savory, desserts and drinks while soft jazz music started to play.
Connie and Sasha rushed with celebration poppers and popped that to everyone and confetti's were all over both of you and everyone started to laugh including Levi.
He actually rented out the whole beach shore just for this special occasion to make a special experience, and even planned a surprise celebration after that with all of your friends.
This went on for what left like forever, and everyone headed back after congratulating both of you and you both went to your beach resort room.
You guys did not sleep that night and actually stayed up together talking about how this special evening went, about the future while holding hands, being cuddled up and leaving each other soft kisses throughout the conversation.
Now, everytime you think or even go to the beach shore, you think of Levi’s amazing romantic proposal. This man really took a long time figuring this out and wanted it special cause you deserved that.
And, whenever you look at his steel grey gaze, you saw the love he had for you, and you saw your soon to be husband that you will spend the rest of your life with.

au where peter doesn’t betray the potters and instead runs to them when voldemort gets too much GO GO GO
peter was tired. he was so tired. he thought this was okay, he thought he was doing the right thing, he thought he was saving them.
them. james, who gripped his hand in first year and wiped away his tears, who led him tot he light everytime he fell down, who ruffled his hair and kissed his forehead and made things hurt less.
lily, who have him soft smiles and made him hot chocolate, who comforted him in 6th year when he got broken up with, who told him he was family, and family never let go of family.
harry. who is just a year old, who gives him a tiny smile and reached his arms out to be held, whos laugh brightens up any room, his wide eyes can mend any broke heart.
remus and sirius, who are both equally his best friends. who held him down, who taught him how to fight, who picked him up and made him whole again.
he thought if he joined the other side, they wouldn’t have to. he could keep them safe, he could make sure nobody touched them. he could fight.
he was wrong. he was so wrong. if the scars littered up his arms and torso were anything to go by. or the mark that made him throw up every morning, that made him unable to look himself in the mirror. or maybe the sickening feeling of hearing the screams, or seeing the blood. maybe it was all of it at once.
peter couldn’t feel anything. he wanted to scream and cry, he hated to balst the stupid fucker off the face of th earth, and take all his little followers with him. himself included, he didn’t deserve to see the light anymore.
his arms felt like dead weight, he didn’t even wnat to pick up his wand anymore. the dark lord likes to punish people who don’t listen, and peter quite hated listening.
the new bruises were worth it, they always were in the end. james was safe. remus was safe. sirius was safe. harry was safe.
peter thought he could hold on longer. as long as it took for someone stronger to defeat the man. as long as it took to make sure his family got through the war.
until he couldn’t.
he heard something he wasn’t suppose to, sure. buut this time he couldn’t just sit and listen. no, because he heard it well and clear.
“the potter boy, we must kill him.”
no. no, no, no, no. no. not harry, anyone but harry.
he thinks of those eyes, and the way tiny harry falls asleep on his chest, and how he giggles when remus dances around the kitchen with him. and how sirius has a smile on his face he hasn’t had since regulus died. and how james and lily are such perfect parents.
and no, he’s not going to be a coward anymore. he’s not going to let his family get ripped apart, not by some useless man who thinks he’s some saint.
and so peter runs. he’s tired and broken down, and the only thing keeping him moving and fighting is the sheer thought of him getting to james’ first.
and he does.
james opens the door in confusion, but completely worry clouds his face when he takes one look at peter.
james had never seen his best friend so full. there was no light in his eyes, just dark bags underneath them. there was blood on his face, he had a nasty bruise on his chin. he eyes moved back and forth, taking in james as a whole, his hands where shaking and james pulled him into a hug.
peter melted into his best friends’ hold. james was okay, james was here.
“pete, pete i got you. everything’s okay, everything will be fine.”
and for a moment peter believed him. because it’s james. and james always made things better, james always won, james always lived.
later on james would ask why peter was there, and peter would break down. not in a crying sense, but his voice would close up, his hands would shake as he lifted his sleeve and told of what he’d done. what he’d been through.
james wouldn’t flinch, he barely looked at the mark as he drew peter back into his arms, hushing his dry cries.
peter would beg and beg for jams to hate him, for jams to just kill him. and james would look him sternly in the eye and tell him he would never, ever, think of doing such a thing.
and peter would ask why, hands clutching onto james’ shirt as a lifeline, and james would whisper softly,
“you’re my brother.”
and later james, sirius and remus would sit down. all of them hearing the stories, the horrors of what oeter went through. they’d all sit and listen as peter would explain that he thought he was saving them, the ame way the saved him. and they would understand.
because peter never made the best decisions, he never thought them out fully. he just did what he thought was best, would help the most. it’s the same as when he snuck out of the dorms after the full moon to make sure remus was okay in the hospital wing. or how he didn’t think twice before throwing a hex at sirius’ mother the first time he met her. or how he fought with lily when he thought she insulted james.
he did it for the only reason he thought mattered, to make sure they were okay.
because peter loved in a different way, but he loved. and he never stopped loving. and he was there, sitting and shaking and clawing at his arm.
and they have know him since he was 11, for godsake. he’s family.
and when sirius takes him into a hug, and remus ruffles his hair, and james pays his back. all peter can ask is “why?”
“did we hate regulus for what he had done?”
“...no”
“do we hate remus for having to hang out with werewolf’s?”
“no!”
“do we hate sirius for having to go undercover into a death eater den?”
“no.”
“so there’s absolutely no reason we’d ever hate you. you saved us.”
“oh.”
and blah blah they all live happily ever after cause james knew voldy was coming and was waiting for him at the front porch BOOM

Godfather duty
Summary: When James is surprised by Sirius and Harry coming home drunk four in the morning, he questions himself when he got too old for that.
For @theblueocean
Part of the Jily Lives AU
Rated M for mentions of underage drinking and some swearing.
Read on AO3 with all the correct italics, or below the cut:
_________
His eyelids feel heavy, but James keeps writing. He is almost finishing the first draft of the article for Transfiguration Today; it's due Sunday and he still has five days to finish it, but James is really anxious for presenting it. It's not his first paper for that magazine, but his article will be the headline this time, and he promised himself he would send them in advance as much as he could - and he still needs to send it to Minerva for her to read and review.
It feels a lot like he is back in school doing essays, but James doesn't remember being that excited back at Hogwarts - well, not about homework anyway.
He puts the final dot and lets the quill rest, satisfied. He will proofread in the morning, maybe even rewrite altogether from a different perspective, but it's done and it's a competent article, he knows.
Human transfiguration was always a point of interest to him.
He raises, stretching up and looking at his watch. It's past four in the morning already; he really lost track of time. He remembers Lily calling him to go to bed - and then he promised her he would go in a minute, which he clearly forgot.
He suppresses a yawn as he leaves the library, thinking only of sinking on his bed when he hears a sound coming from the front porch.
All his sleepiness is gone instantly, and he turns with his wand already raised, alarmed and with his instincts screaming even though it’s been months since the war ended; someone is turning the doorknob. The spell is almost leaving his lips when the door opens wide and he sees Harry's joyful face.
Harry is not alone; Sirius is with him, their arms around each other in a brotherly gesture and for a moment James has a flashback of himself with Sirius with that same easiness, both of them beaming happily and goofy; it's a memory of twenty years ago, of a night they went around Muggle London joining a pub crawl that ended up with James' mother finding them passed out in the middle of the Potter’s living room in Godric’s Hollows.
A lot of things happened that night - a flight from the Muggle police when they tried to climb Cleopatra’s Needle, an attempt to perform a serenade to Lily only to realize they were on the wrong street and throwing eggs at Grimmauld Place number twelve - but what he remembers clearer is the smell of the alcohol on him as he woke up next morning - and then the taste of it all as he threw it all up.
And right now Sirius and Harry have that same smell of cheap whiskey mixed with beer.
James blinks, confused. As far as he thought, Harry had been back from work hours ago - James was sure Harry had been sleeping on his bed right now.
It’s evident he was wrong.
‘Hi, Prongs’, Sirius says, grinning from ear-to-ear, sounding much steadier than James would have guessed from the smell coming from them. ‘Care to let us in?’
'What's going on?', James asks, worried, stepping aside to let them enter. Both of them are stumbling, but James has the impression that Sirius is supporting Harry more than the opposite.
For some reason his question makes them look at each other.
'What I said?', Sirius asks Harry as if they are sharing some old joke. Harry lets out of one of his rare carefree giggles. 'What d'you think we are doing, dear Prongs?'
'Coming home drunk in the middle of the night?’
‘Chill out, Dad’, Harry says, winking at him.
Chill out?
‘It’s four in the morning of a Tuesday - I thought you were home already!’
‘I had to work late’, Harry answers immediately, grinning. Sirius takes him to the living room, trying to help him on the couch, but Harry slides to the floor, falling on the carpet.
‘On a bar?’
‘It’s for work’, Harry insists, eyes open as if that was obvious.
‘It was a very important mission’, Sirius agrees. ‘Stealth. Mixing with locals. Spying on people’.
‘Oh, were there Death Eaters on that bar?’, James asks, rolling his eyes.
‘It could have been! Harry needs to know how to handle his alcohol!’
Harry giggles.
‘I handle it very well’, he says proudly, clapping his hands. ‘Tell him, Sirius’.
‘He won us money on darts. He even closed his eyes for the last shot. You would be proud!’
‘That you were letting my barely out-of-age kid bet on games?’
Sirius rolls his eyes.
‘Everything was under control, he won. Stop worrying, I was on godfather duty tonight -’
‘Between a drink and another, you mean?’
‘ - and I brought him home, right?’
‘Speaking of that’, James raises his eyebrows, now sounding openly reproachful. ‘How did you come home? Don’t tell me you drank and apparated’.
‘I would never!’
‘Or that motorbike - if you came here flying, I swear I will -’
‘Relax, Dad!’, Harry intervenes, now raising on a jump, ignoring how he tumbles in the process. ‘We got a cab. Eeeeeeverything under control’.
James watches his son go to the cabinet in the room, searching for something until he takes out a feather to doodle something on a parchment, not realizing it’s a grocery list.
‘I see the control’, he says dryly. ‘What are you doing, Harry?’
‘I am making a howler’.
‘What? What for?’
‘To howl, duh - hey!’, he turns to Sirius, his eyes sparkling madly. ‘Remus never sends letters - he only sends howlers!’
Sirius chuckles. ‘I howl too! Owoooooo!’
‘Hey, hey, you are going to wake up Lily!’
‘And?’
‘And maybe you don’t want her to see what you did to Harry - Harry, stop that, you are not sending anyone a howler’.
‘I have to tell Ginny I love her!’
‘She already knows, I am sure, you’ve told her’.
‘But I never yelled it!’
‘And she loves you more because of that, come on, give me that letter’.
‘I knew he wouldn’t let you send it’, Sirius says, his voice now smug. ‘Prongsie is old’.
James rolls his eyes.
‘Same age as you, Pads’, he remembers distantly, taking the letter from Harry, though now he realizes he didn’t need to worry. Harry’s letter is unintelligible and he doubts he could cast the spell to turn into a howler.
Harry pouts.
‘Sirius is right, you are square’.
‘What?’
‘We can never have fun’.
‘And you are so serious - more than me, haha!’, Sirius adds, now laying down lazily on the couch, his legs spread. James is about to complain that his shoes are all muddy and Sirius should take them out, but he stops.
Oh, Merlin, he is really getting a bit square, isn’t he?
‘I can be fun’, he stresses, making Sirius let out one of his bark laughs.
‘Yeah, years ago. Before you were a dad - no offence, Harry’.
Harry doesn’t seem to have heard him, which James considers a shame. Harry would surely defend him - he was a cool dad to Harry.
No, he is still a cool dad. The kind that Harry can feel at will to talk about anything, that supports Harry and that is always there for him.
Except that Harry didn’t tell him about working late tonight or going to a bar. Except Harry and Sirius didn’t ask for his company.
And if they did - he thinks of the paper he just finished and how excited he was for it.
He would have said no.
That’s not very cool of him.
‘I will take a flight!’, Harry declares, his eyes shining with this idea and for once James doesn’t feel satisfied with the mischievousness in him.
‘No drinking and flying’, James says sternly, and he decides that he will have to remain uncool for a little longer. ‘You - you stay here! Sirius - watch him. Better than you did so far, I mean’.
Sirius grimaces, evidently annoyed, but he sits next to Harry, who is now mumbling something incomprehensible, though Sirius seems to be listening to him with attention. James leaves them in the living room, locking the door behind him just in case, and goes to Lily’s office hoping she has stored a Hangover Potion. He is in no luck, of course; it’s been years since he and Lily even needed one - James believes it comes with the age knowing when to stop - and there was nothing in Harry’s latest behaviour that showed them they would need it.
For a second James almost considers waking up Lily, knowing she would make the potion in minutes, but he doesn’t want her to see the mess Harry is right now; it’s far better she hears it later than witnessing first hand. He grabs a small cauldron and the ingredients he will need and returns to the living room.
In the few minutes he was out, Harry and Sirius managed to make things strangely worse. There is snow in the room, that he sees Sirius casting from his wand; Harry is perfectly still, the snow making a sort of white hat on his head, his arms wide open and also covered in snow.
‘What -’, James tries to ask, but he just blinks at the weirdness on the scene.
‘Shhhh’, Sirius says, a finger on his lips. ‘Don’t distract him!’
‘What is Harry doing?’
‘Isn’t it obvious? Disguise training! He is a snowman!’
‘He is missing a carrot nose’, James notes, grimacing, and that makes Sirius turn his wand to Harry’s face. ‘I am joking!’
It’s too late; there is a flash of light and then there is a carrot on Harry’s face, replacing his nose.
‘Sirius!’, Harry complains, raising his hand to touch his new nose. His voice is muffled. ‘I can’t have a nose this big! How can I snog Ginny now?’
‘That’s your concern?’, James asks, half-amused, now taking out Sirius’ wand to make sure he doesn’t cast any more magic.
‘I will poke her in the eye!’, Harry says, moping, scratching the tip of his pointy nose thoughtfully.
‘I will transform you back as soon as you drink this potion, now lay still’. Harry sighs, sitting on the couch. Sirius sits next to him, patching him in the back as if he weren’t the one that turned Harry’s nose into a carrot in the first place.
‘Your nose matches her hair’, he says bracingly. ‘You will look beautiful together’.
‘I am not sure this is much comfort, Padfoot’, James notes, placing the cauldron in the fireplace and starting to throw in the ingredients. He could add something for the taste, but he believes the bitterness helps build character.
‘Well, I got him quiet, didn’t I?’, Sirius asks, pointing at Harry who is now sitting on the couch, still playing with his carrot nose.
‘You could have messed up so badly’.
‘I am not that drunk - I watched over your kid, no matter what you think of me’.
James shakes his head.
‘Letting him drink that much? He barely can stand - what if someone -’
‘The war is over, James’, Sirius tells him, sounding much grim now. ‘And like I said, I was there. Me, half-a-dozen junior Aurors and some seniors too’.
‘Unless any Death Eater threat would be a challenge to a drinking contest, I don’t think it would make much difference’.
‘Oh, Merlin’. Sirius sighs, walking to the drink cabinet and opening it to take a bottle of firewhiskey. ‘Here, drink this’.
‘What?’
‘You are sober, I hate talking to sober people when I am pissed. Sober people are boring’.
‘I am not boring’, James complains, pushing away the bottle that Sirius extends in his direction. ‘And I am past the age of being forced to drink to look cool’.
‘Then drink because it’s nice!’, Sirius says forcefully now. ‘Drink because you are alive! Drink because you are happy! Drink because for the first time in his life your son is properly pissed!’
‘That’s not a reason -’
‘That’s enough reason! He is eighteen! What age were we when we first got pissed?’
‘Seventeen’. Sirius raises his eyebrows, waiting for him, and James flushes, turning his attention to the cauldron. The potion is almost over. ‘Fine, fifteen - but it didn’t count, we weren’t thinking straight then’.
‘Yeah. Our first transformation’, Sirius remembers, but there is something heavy on his voice now.
‘What is the problem, Padfoot?’
‘Nothing’.
That makes James stop. He takes the cauldron out of the fire, to let the potion cool down, and turns to Sirius, watching him. Sirius’ eyes are watery as he always gets when he drinks, but he sustains James’ look for a surprisingly full two minutes before he sighs.
‘Fine, you are the problem’.
‘Me? You take my son out for a drink without telling me, return home four in the morning and I am the problem?’
‘Look at what you are saying! He is of age! He was with his friends - and his very trustable godfather! He was having fun for once in his life, instead of living that responsible life you want for him’.
‘Responsible?’, James repeats, dumbfounded. Nobody had ever accused him of wanting to do the responsible thing. ‘I am just being his father’.
‘Well, maybe Harry doesn’t need his father anymore’.
There is a long pause after that. James blinks, once, twice, very slowly, trying to understand what Sirius means by that, and it’s only when he reaches for the drink cabinet to get a glass for the potion, that Sirius moves.
‘Shit - I didn’t mean like that - sorry, James, it’s not -’
‘No, I get it’, James says, his voice forcefully steady. ‘Harry wants the cool father figure that allows him everything - and, well, Sirius “what’s life without a little risk” Black is perfect for that’.
‘Don’t be absurd - that kid worships the ground you walk upon -’
‘And yet he was with you, not me. I get it. I am a father, not a friend’. He offers Sirius a full glass. ‘Drink this, you’ll feel better tomorrow’.
‘No, I deserve the hangover tomorrow, but that’s beside the point. It’s my fault’.
‘I don’t think you forced Harry to drink’, James notes dryly, sitting next to Harry to help him drink the potion. Harry seems to be in another world now, but he obliges to James’ help without questioning.
‘No, that was all on him - I mean it, he’d make you proud, he won a drinking contest with Thompson and he is twice Harry’s size - er, not helping, sorry’. Sirius sits on the other side of Harry. ‘He was going to tell you we’d be out for a drink. And I didn't let him'.
'Why? Why would you -'
'Because I thought you would overreact. Worry too much about him. Don't let him have any fun'.
'I would not -'
'And because I thought he'd ask you to come’.
James blinks. Between them, Harry lays his head on James' shoulder, now watching Sirius with mild curiosity.
‘I would ask’, he agrees, a note of pride in his voice.
'Am I that bad company?', James asks in a low voice. Sirius shakes his head.
'Would you come with us?', he challenges. James keeps his gaze for a few seconds, but just like Sirius didn't lie for him before, he wouldn't dare speak anything but the truth.
'No, I had things to do today'.
'That article', Sirius scoffs. 'You don't talk about anything else'.
James frowns.
'It's really important - a chance of -'
'Getting yourself a name, I know, I know. But see -', his grey eyes are burning over James now, somewhat desperate. 'The Prongs I know would never care for reputation'.
'Sirius…'
'The Prongs I know would be honest with me'.
'I am - what are you -'
'I heard you and Kingsley, ok?', he blows off. 'Registering as an animagus? After all this time?'
There is another silence, broken only by the crackling fire.
'I was going to tell you', James says finally. 'I didn't think it was important - you don't have to register too -'
'That's not the point - you are breaking our trust -'
'It's just an entry on a list. It doesn’t change anything, I will keep our full moon nights -'
'When Remus has time, you mean?', he asks, sounding bitter now. 'He missed the last two, he'd rather stay home -'
'He has a kid now -'
'So do you and… you guys are getting old and responsible and too serious for me'.
'Nobody is more serious than you', James says, smiling at him, but Sirius just rolls his eyes and grabs the bottle of firewhiskey on the coffee table, taking a sip.
James extends his hand. Sirius raises one eyebrow, in disbelief, and his expression only relaxes a little when James takes a long sip of the firewhiskey. The drink burns his throat, infusing him with that weird dose of courage and a will to do something, but James just sighs.
'You are no less serious because of it', Sirius notes.
'I got serious - the war, the first one and then the second one and everything - and I think I forgot how to relax - but that doesn't mean… you are my brother, Sirius'.
'The annoying prettier baby brother?'
'You are older', James says, grinning, and after a second of hesitation, Sirius smiles too. 'You can invite me - I mean, we can do things together. Even if it sounds - or is - stupid'.
'Things together like… registering our animagus form?'
James rests against the couch, and Harry moves his head to rest more comfortably on his shoulders; James thinks he will sleep soon.
'You don't need to do it too - Kingsley already knows about you and he is the bloody Minister of Magic, isn't he? This was not about doing the responsible thing'.
'Then why -'
'I want the credit'. James presses his lips, before admitting something he didn't even share with Lily yet. 'I talked to Minerva - if I get back to my studies, get enough recommendation to be approved by the board, I could get her position'.
Sirius blinks, startled.
'Her position? You mean -'
'Transfiguration professor, yeah'.
He looks away now, feeling somewhat embarrassed. It had never really been an ambition - teaching was much more something Remus had always wanted to do than him; James had been glad to focus on his studies and develop new theories of transfiguration until then.
But ever since Minerva had vented that possibility to him a few weeks after the end of the war, when they were repairing one of the halls destroyed in the battle, that thought had been on his mind. He wasn't in a rush, but the idea of getting back to Hogwarts, this time as a professor, watching other students learn from him as much as he had learned from Minerva McGonagall… he couldn't deny that idea had taken root in his mind.
James always teased her that he had been her favourite student, but the fact was that she was his favourite professor and there was some part of him that wanted to impress her and prove himself good enough to replace her someday.
He waits for Sirius' response, but there is only a silence that doesn't seem good.
'I know it's huge', James mumbles. 'There are others far more capacitated than me, I am starting now to -'
'Shut your mouth, Prongs', interrupts Sirius, and James turns to him. There is a grin on his face. 'Being humble never suited you'.
James laughs softly.
'I wasn’t trying to', he assures him.
'I thought - I thought you had wanted to do the right thing. You know, registering just because you wanted to follow the law, as if… as if you were ashamed of what we did illegally -'
'Now it's you who needs to shut up, Padfoot'. He takes another sip of the firewhiskey. ‘Animagus at age of fifteen? I’m damn proud of it. Also, that’s the only thing that I have done that’s cooler than half the stuff Harry got into’.
‘Yeah, I suppose it’s hard when your son is a bloody hero’.
Harry chooses that moment to start snoring loudly, which sends James and Sirius into a fit of laughter. James raises, careful to let Harry sleep on the couch, and Harry doesn’t look remotely close to waking up.
‘I am glad you took him out for a drink’, James says, taking out Harry’s glasses. ‘I was just jealous - it should have been me’.
‘I am sure there will be another occasion’, Sirius says dismissively. ‘He will probably forget every embarrassing thing he did, you know how that works’.
‘Oh, he embarrassed himself?’, James asks, a glint of fun on his eyes. Sirius smirks.
‘That happy giggling Harry you saw? Just the last stage. He was all cocky at first - that’s how we got into that darts bet’.
‘Harry? My son? Cocky?’
‘Oh, yeah, he reminded me a lot of you’, Sirius’ smirk increases. ‘He was strutting and all’.
‘Tell me you took pictures of it’.
‘I would never’, Sirius declares, though James isn’t sure he believes him this time. ‘And then he got very… honest’.
‘That doesn’t sound good for that stealth mission’.
Sirius shakes his head.
‘If he was spilling out Auror secrets I would be happier - no, instead I had to hear about the time he and Ginny -’
‘Nope, nope, I don’t want to know’.
‘Well, me neither, I won’t ever use your Invisibility Cloak again, you can be sure. But anyway - that’s why he got here so drunk. I decided vodka was the only way to shut him up properly’.
Sirius looks so satisfied with himself and his choices, that James knows what he has to do.
‘It’s late’, he says pleasantly. ‘Crash here tonight’.
‘Oh, I think I will - I am not fit to apparate’.
‘Let’s go upstairs then’.
‘And Harry?’
‘Oh, look at him. He is sleeping so well, he can stay here tonight’.
‘If you are sure’.
‘Yeah, yeah, everything will be fine’.
_________
James has slept barely four hours when he wakes up with Lily’s cry. He puts on his robe lazily, waiting a few minutes to go downstairs; when he passes Sirius’ room, the door is already opened.
Good.
He finds them all together in the toilet next to the kitchen, and by the sounds coming out of there, his Hangover Potion wasn’t very efficient.
‘We were working late, Lily’, Sirius is saying, sounding properly desperate. ‘And we went out for a drink -’
‘It was a Tuesday night! He has to work in one hour!’
‘So do I - but you see, I’m his boss, so everything is fine! Also, I don’t think any of the boys will show up -’
‘Perfect’, Lily interrupts him, her eyes sending daggers in Sirius’ direction. ‘Then you can take care of him’. She sees James. ‘Did you know about this?’
‘Me? I was working late on my text, you know’, he answers, yawning and looking very innocent.
Sirius waits until Lily is out for the kitchen to turn to James, his eyes narrowed.
‘You knew she would be mad. That’s why you told me to stick around’.
‘If I knew how my dear wife would react to knowing you got our son pissed? How could I?’
Sirius grimaces as there is another retching sound coming from the bathroom.
‘Oh, you better go there and don’t forget to keep Harry hydrated’.
‘Watch it’, Sirius says, but he goes into the bathroom anyway. ‘I won’t ever show you the pictures’.
James shrugs, undisturbed.
‘That’s fine. Next time Harry gets drunk, I will be there’.
‘I won’t ever ever ever drink again’, Harry moans, hugging the toilet seat now, his face sweaty.
‘Oh, kid, we’ve all been there’, Sirius sighs, flushing down the toilet and helping Harry raise.
James grins to himself, glad that Sirius is doing his godfather duty once again, and leaves them alone.

Unexpected. Part 1
Harry Potter Young Marauders Post Hogwarts
Summary:  James is more than excited for you to come home. He is, however, unprepared for the surprise that you bring along.
Pairings: Regulus Black x Reader
Rating: M
_____
“James, would you calm down?”
Lily hissed after James stepped on her foot for the fourth time this morning. James stopped his wandering around the kitchen to look at his wife.
“My sister is coming home. I haven’t seen her in ages.”
Lily smiled as she put baby Harry down in his high chair. She had to admit that she was with James on that one. Everyone had missed you from the moment that you took a job for the order and moved off to France. Lily missed her best friend and James was missing his sister more than ever.
“I know, love. Y/n will be back soon. You can join Sirius in driving the poor woman crazy and I will have my best friend back.”
James grinned as he leaned down to get Harry’s attention.
“I can wait for her to see how adorable he is in person. Pictures just don’t do justice.”
Lily smiled. James had wanted nothing more than for you to come. From being so close to his little sister to having only phone and letter conversations for some time; Lily could see the sadness in James’ eyes when your name was mentioned.
“No, they don’t. I’m anxious to see what surprise she is bringing home. Has she given you any clues?”
James shook his head.
“If it's a boy, I will simply die. Y/n is too young to be worried about getting married.”
Lily looked up.
“James, we were married at her age. I’m sure if it's a boy, Y/n will have chosen a wonderful man. You know how picky your sister is.”
James had to agree on that one. You had to be one of the pickiest Hufflepuff’s that James Potter had ever seen. If you didn’t like a boy, you didn’t give him the chance. There had been plenty of boys at school that tried to “charm” you and failed miserably.
“You’re right there.”
James commented as Sirius and Remus came in the front door.
“Is she here yet?”
Sirius asked cheerfully. He was more than excited for you to come back too. After moving in with the Potters, he had become your new older brother. When you didn’t come back to London after graduation, Sirius missed you almost as badly as James did.
“No, she should be here soon.”
Remus gave Sirius a smirk.
“I told you that we hadn’t missed her. He’s like an over-excited child.”
Remus commented as Sirius picked up Harry. Even though Harry was only six months old, Sirius was still trying to get him to say Padfoot.
“Things never change.”
Lily said with a pleased smile as the front door opened and closed. James’ eyes lit up. This had to be you! He knew that it would in the afternoon before Fleamont and Euphemia arrived.
“Sissy! I’ve missed…”
James had run out of the kitchen and froze the moment that he came skidding into the living room to see you standing with Regulus behind you. Lily, Sirius, and Remus quickly followed after James the moment that his voice stopped. All three were as surprised to see Regulus standing behind you as James.
“Y/n….why is Regulus with you?”
James questioned. Sirius blinked before focusing his attention on James. His best friend looked beyond confused and worried.
“Please tell me that he isn’t the surprise.”
James commented as your smile fell. You, meanwhile, took in a deep breath. From the moment that you awoke that morning, you knew today was going to be a shit show of a dumpster fire.
“He’s part of it, James. Regulus and I are married now.”
James’ face went white as Sirius and Remus started whispering to each other. Lily meanwhile, reached out to wrap her hand around James.
“You what?”
James yelled. He looked between Regulus and yourself with a furious expression. Regulus was giving him that cocky smirk that the younger Black brother reserved just for James Potter. You, meanwhile, looked extremely worried.
“You heard me. I love him but there’s more. Reggie?”
James leaned back to Sirius saying “oh, god she calls him that.” You stepped away from Regulus to reveal a baby sleeping in his arms. If you had ever tried to surprise your friends, you won the gold medal today. James and Lily looked as if they were going to take turns fainting. Remus’ eyes were wide while Sirius had a hand over his mouth as he took everything in.
“That’s a baby.”
James muttered. He turned around and started fanning his face.
“That’s a baby, Lily.”
Lily nodded, unable to speak for a moment. Regulus, meanwhile, rolled his eyes.
“Yes, James. Congratulations...you figured it out.”
You turned around giving him a displeased expression that made Regulus shut up. Before arriving at the Potters, you had begged him to try to get along with your brother. You knew that there was no love lost between James and Regulus.
“Regulus, James...please. It's clear that we need to talk.”
James nodded, trying to breathe in.
“Clearly! When did this happen? Is this child his? Is that why you married him? Call me old-fashioned but what’s wrong with living in sin.”
Lily gave James a scowl.
“James, stop. Y/n, what’s going on here? I promise that he won’t yell at you. Please, sit down.”
James paced around the room before taking a deep breath.
“I want to talk to you alone...without him. In the kitchen, please.”
You glanced over your shoulder at Regulus. His eyes were carefully looking between James and his own brother for any sign of hexes being thrown. The last thing that Regulus wanted was to leave you alone with James. Lucky for him, he could look right into the kitchen.
“Fine.”
You replied. Sirius stepped in finally. He had forgotten how to speak but finally came back to himself.
“James, I think we all need to talk right here. I am anxious to see what my own brother has to say.”
James started chewing on the inside of his mouth. Sirius sat down on the couch.
“Y/n, Reg...what is going on?”
“What you see is what you get.”
Regulus said, sounding almost bored with the situation. James flexed his hands a few times before taking a few deep breaths.
“Sorry but that doesn’t work for me. I want to know how this started and why neither of you could pick up a telephone or send a letter. I’m an uncle and I didn’t even know about this child’s existence. Regulus, I know that we don’t like each other but this is my sister...that you married without my permission.”
You slipped a hand on Regulus’ knee, hoping to stop him from getting angry. To your relief, he only smirked.
“I wasn’t aware that Y/n required your permission to do things. Is she also allowed to cross the street without you holding her hand?”
You decided to come into the conversation, after meeting Siriuis’ gaze.
“We met in France. After we just hit it off...I didn’t tell you because...well because of the way that you are acting right now. You’re acting like a child James. My happiness should matter to you and clearly, it doesn’t.”
James stood up.
“Sorry, but when your happiness is over a man that could end up getting you killed...I won’t be thrilled for you. Have you seen the mark on his left arm? Do you two even know each other at all?”
James didn’t wait for you to respond before turning and walking from the room.
“Reg, can we talk….outside?”
Sirius asked. Regulus didn’t mind talking to his brother. It would be the first time in years and deep down, he missed his brother. Now Walburga wasn’t breathing down his neck telling him not to speak to Sirius.
Regulus gently eased the sleeping baby into your arms. His grey eyes met yours.
“Will you be alright?”
You nodded as he leaned down to kiss you. Neither of you noticed the expression of discomfort on Lily, Remus, and Sirius’ faces. Had James been in the room, he would have probably fainted.
“We’ll be fine.”
You softly replied as Regulus stood to follow Sirius out of the room. Lily, meanwhile, waited all of two seconds to take Regulus’ place.
“I’m sorry about your brother...we are just shocked. You could have come to us, you know. I would have talked James down. The two of you shouldn’t have had to go through all of this alone.”
You’re eyes rolled up to meet Lily’s. Finally, there was some genuine caring coming from someone. Remus nodded scooting closer.
“Lily’s right, Y/n. James will get used to it eventually. He’s just shocked...all of us are. Why Regulus?”
You looked up to Remus.
“Why not Regulus? If it wasn’t him it would just be another.”
Remus shrugged.
“Fair enough. The two of you seem so different.”
You smiled.
“We actually are very compatible, him being a Slytherin and me a Hufflepuff. You both want the truth? We met in a pub in France one night and were both wasted. The baby is the result of us sleeping together that night. We got married because we felt like it was the right thing to do. I do love Regulus and I know that he loves me. It may not be the ideal situation for any of you but it works for us. With this war going on, none of us know how long that we have. We could all die young... Regulus isn’t a death eater anymore. We’ve both been risking everything...Regulus especially. I wish James would see things that way but I don’t think that he will.”
Lily couldn’t argue with you on a few things. There was a very real possibility that all of you would die young. The war was getting worse and worse by the day. James would also take some time to calm down.
“Let me see this baby.”
You smiled and eased the baby girl into Lily’s arms. Lily smiled. You were relieved to finally see a genuine smile.
“She’s darling. How old is she?”
“Four months...just two months younger than Harry. I wanted her to grow up with her cousin and her family. Her name is Halley.”
Lily smiled as the baby snuggled closer to her chest to go back to sleep. The little one looked extraordinary like her father mixed with some of the Potter features.
“Like the comet? That’s cute. She already has the Black family looks. Give Sirius a moment and he is going to be going into extreme uncle mode.”
Lily was pleased to see you smile at that.
“Regulus won’t say it but he misses his brother. I think it has a lot to do with being afraid that Walburga is going to jump out and bash him over the head for admitting his feelings.”
Lily knew all about the Black family. Their cold feelings on everything was a constant topic of conversation between James and Sirius.
“Do they know about Halley?”
You shook your head.
“Regulus didn’t want to tell them. We will now because there is a great chance that we will run into them at some point.”
Lily reached out and gently squeezed your hand.
“Everything will be just fine. The two of you aren’t alone anymore. Do you love him...Regulus?”
You smiled.
“Yes, I love him very much. It didn’t take much work. I suppose in ways we are still getting to know each other but I think everything will be fine. Hopefully, Sirius isn’t out there giving him an earful…”
(meanwhile)
Sirius lit a cigarette as Regulus stared out into the garden. He was waiting for his brother to start talking but clearly, that wasn’t going to happen.
Still the quiet one….
Sirius thought with a frown. If he wanted to get anything out of Regulus then he was going to have to pry it out of him...just like in childhood.
“I’m impressed.”
Sirius commented as he inhaled. Regulus didn’t bother turning in his direction. He knew where this conversation was going. Sirius wanted to know what happened.
Of course, he’ll want to know. It's one hell of a story for one to hear…
“About?”
Regulus questioned. Sirius rolled his eyes.
“You know what I’m talking about.”
“I had to marry her.”
Regulus softly replied. Sirius frowned.
“Do you love her?”
Regulus was silent for a few moments before turning to his brother.
“I’m sure that I will. Y/n is a good woman. She’s been extremely kind to me...when she didn’t have to be. She could have easily never told me about Halley. Y/n could sit back and tell the child that her father was a monster and not worth loving but she didn’t. She loves me and it's nice. I married her so people wouldn’t talk...Y/n doesn’t deserve that.”
Regulus didn’t turn to face his brother who was frowning. That clearly wasn’t that answer that Sirius was expecting. Sirius expected Regulus to say that he loved you.
“Don’t you think it's a bit cruel to marry someone that you don’t love? Do you tell her that you love her?”
Regulus frowned. He wanted to make sure that you didn’t hear the words coming out of his mouth. Love was such a funny word. While Regulus cared for you deeply he wasn’t sure if he loved you. He wasn't sure if he even knew what love was or capable of feeling it. Maybe, in time, he would but for now, he knew what his feelings were.
“I do and it's not cruel. She’s happy...I make her happy. As I said, I’m sure that I will fall in love with her. She does make me happy...you know what a feat that is. I love our daughter and that’s enough for now.”
Regulus glanced over his shoulder.
“She gave me a chance. You know that we, being members of the sacred 28, didn’t get much affection from our parents. I don’t want Halley growing up with that.”
Sirius sat down on the banister.
“You’re right there. How old is Halley?”
“Four months. Before you ask, mum and dad don't know. I didn’t tell them. I’m sure that you can understand why.”
Sirius nodded and ran a hand through his hair.
“Of course, that comment speaks for itself. I’ll talk to James.”
Regulus stood up.
“I should go check on my wife.”

Ygraine was a middle child, Agravaine was the youngest, and Tristan was the oldest.
When Ygraine was 10 and Tristan was 15, their mother died giving birth to Agravaine. Tristan was always super protective of his brother and sister because of that.
They all grew up very close, which was unusual for kids of their station.
Ygraine’s ring that Arthur wears was her mother’s. She inherited it from her after her death.
Ygraine grew up around magic. She didn’t have any, but she was always fascinated by it. She met Nimueh when they were both kids and became friends instantly. Nimueh’s family had always been close friends to the De Bois’.
This hc isn’t mine, but a friend had hc Ygraine once as an excellent archer. I love that hc. I hc her as a Sagittarius, so she might as well be an excellent archer. I hc Arthur inheriting that talent from her.
She’s an excellent strategist. She might not have had a lot of political experience to support that, but she grew up with hotheaded Agravaine and Tristan, so she needed to be to run interferences when they were needed. Also the elaborate pranks she played on her brothers needed planning that tended to stretch for months beforehand.
She got bored in two seconds flat and was very stubborn. She always had to have her way and if things weren’t exactly the way she wanted them, she would demand they would be or she wouldn’t be bothered with them.
Her favorite flowers were white lilies which Uther had always found too morbid.
She had the most beautiful hair in all of Camelot. Tristan and Agravaine were both brunettes, Ygraine was the only one to inherent their mother’s fairness.
Ygraine met Uther when she was fifteen, about to turn sixteen. She had heard of him. He had seemed to come out of nowhere and had won Camelot’s throne after a lengthy war. She had always imagined him as a bloodthirsty warrior, not a handsome knight who charmed his way into the court of Camelot with his charisma as well as his sword.
She was very witty and often three steps ahead everyone in a conversation. Uther often found himself stuttering when they talked. She would just laugh at him.
Tristan didn’t like Uther from the moment he met him. Uther hadn’t been born into high nobility, and while he managed to charm everyone, he didn’t fool Tristan.
Tristan didn’t like the instant connection Uther seemed to have had with his sister either. Their father was dead at that point and Tristan was the head of the family. He knew the kind of connection Ygraine’s marriage to Uther would give their family, but he had heard the stories about Uther, about his temper, his willingness to spell blood so easily to protect his kingdom, and how even his dearest friends weren’t safe from his wrath if they crossed him.
Ygraine heard the stories as well, but she had seen into Uther’s heart, knew he conquered Camelot to save it from a tyrant king. She believed the good she saw in him and trusted him to be a better king, believed in his vision for the golden age of Camelot and wanted to be at his side as he brought it on.
Ygraine had made up her mind and no force on earth would change Ygraine’s mind once it was made.
Ygraine and Gaius had struck an unexpected friendship the moment they met. They had both newly arrived to the court of Camelot and Gaius was known to experiment in magic. Ygraine was instantly interested, missing her friend Nimueh from back home.
She was good friends with Alice too.
She had a large circle of friends, few close ones, but everyone who met her was instantly taken by her cheerful nature and she was a beloved queen.
Ygraine suffered from multiple failed pregnancies before hers with Arthur.
Her mental and physical health suffered from that for a long time. She became increasingly sickly as time went on.
Ygraine was the one to introduce Nimueh to Uther. When Nimueh later became the high priestess, she became a constant presence in Uther’s court.

heroes by bowie & wolfstar: prompt <3
And you, you can be mean
Remus turned to where Sirius sat on the sofa, boasting about a battle they had just won against their cousin.
"Will you stop! People fucking died in that battle! Merlin, we know you're a Black, you don't have to shove it in our faces!"
He stubbed his cigarette out on the window sill and stomped to the bedroom, slamming the door shut behind him.
And I, I'll drink all the time
"Moony! You here?" Sirius called out, walking over to the kitchen to see if they had any whisky left.
Remus appeared in the doorway with his arms folded, clearly just woken up.
"Dance with me, moony!"
Sirius spun around the kitchen to music in their head, before clutching the counter and throwing up over themselves.
'Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact
Yes we're lovers, and that is that
"Remember when we took this?" Sirius said, staring at a photo of them in 3rd year at Hogsmeade.
Remus beamed, "that was such a great day. Wormtail and Prongs went off to annoy Marlene and Mary, so we explored the woods together."
Sirius grinned, "and I fell out that tree and you caught me in your arms."
"So romantic", Remus laughed, kissing Sirius' cheek.
Though nothing will keep us together
Sirius sat on the sofa, a bottle in hand, writing another letter to James.
Remus was gone again, and now they were alone once more. With nothing to do but drink and ride the bike, till they were assigned another mission.
We could steal time just for one day
"I wish we could go back in time", Remus said absentmindedly as he was washing up.
"Time turners exist", Sirius answered as they dried a mug.
"No, I mean, I don't want to grow up."
Sirius thought about it for a moment before answering, "then don't. I'm not planning to."
We can be heroes for ever and ever
What d'you say?
"As long as I'm around, I'll make sure you dont turn even more into a grouchy grandpa", they added with a wink.
We can be Heroes, just for one day
We can be us, just for one day
Remus snorted, "We should get James and Peter to move back in, then. Make it just like the dorms."
"As much as I'd love that, Prongs already said we can't move in with him and Lily. Which is utterly ridiculous!"
I, I can remember
Standing, by the wall
Sirius clutched their side in pain as blood oozed out from underneath the fabric.
They leant against the wall when Remus came running over, pointing his wand to perform a healing charm.
And the guns, shot above our heads
Spells started flying in their direction, as death eaters caught sight of them.
And we kissed, as though nothing could fall
Sirius grabbed Remus and kissed him with all their strength.
Remus kissed back, and for a moment they forgot about the battle.
And the shame, was on the other side
Oh we can beat them, for ever and ever
Remus pulled back, flicking his wand in the direction of the approaching death eaters.
Then we could be Heroes, just for one day
They tightly held each others hand, as they fought back against the enemy.
We're nothing, and nothing will help us
As they got back to the apartment, Remus walked away from Sirius to read a letter that had appeared on the table. While Sirius walked straight to the kitchen, pouring a drink and downing it with a sharp laugh.
Maybe we're lying, then you better not stay
Sirius' bags were packed when Remus got back from another mission.
"There's a traitor on our side, and you keep disappearing every minute. I can't trust you at the moment", Sirius explained as he walked out the door a final time.
Remus collapsed onto the table, he was exhausted and didn't have the energy to fight it. He knew Sirius would leave him at some point.
But we could be safer, just for one day
Sirius was right. There was a traitor.
Trust was a hard thing to come by in the midst of war. And no one would trust the werewolf.

Ink and Petals
@dapple-dualies-propaganda here's the au
Tattoo artist! Rider x Florist! Goggles
hope you enjoy!
---------
When was it not busy at Squid ink?
It was one of the top Tattoo Parlors in Inkopolis. and it was also on a pretty busy street. So, it got a lot of customers. Also the fact that one of the artists was a famous turfer.
Rider hadn't formerly retired, but he had eased out of playing Turf Wars. He had found other interests outside of the sport: Theater, art, reviewing old movies online... He still did Turf from time to time, albeit the adult league. He was too old for the more popular teen division.
So, he found a job as a tattoo artist. And he rather loved it. Not only did most of his friends consult him for tattoo advice (from where the best places are to good designs), but he also knew some gossip. One of his regulars had beef with her neighbor because he has a pet raccoon who keeps stealing her trash and Rider could NOT wait to hear more about this story.
Another thing was, well, Rider had seen some shit. From people covered head to toe in tats, to people eagerly wanting their first tattoo, even to shyer folk who wanted one to defy controlling parents or to mark something important.
None of that prepared Rider for the news he got when tattooing one of the customers. More specifically, Gloves.
You see, Gloves had been coming in for the past few days. They had wanted a pretty complicated butterfly tat, so for the last 3 days Rider has been exchanging stories with the resident enby about... pretty much anything.
This is how this exchange happened;
"So you remember Goggles, right?" Gloves asked.
Rider rolled his eyes. "What, you think I'd forget the guy who kept pulling down my pants?"
"Oh ha ha. Anyways, apparently he works at that flower shop now."
"...He what?"
"You heard me!" They said. "I went there yesterday to get something for a project and there was Goggles! He misses you, 'ya know!"
Rider was just. quiet. He hadn't talked to his crush in a while, contact dwindled when Rider stopped doing Turf as much. Never once did he think Goggles would miss him, but that was probably the self hatred talking.
"...I'll think about it." Was all Rider said.
The conversation continued like nothing happen; Gloves saying multiple cursed things and Rider sharing interesting stories he heard on his job. Time flew by and soon, the tattoo was done; a butterfly with the bi colors on one wing and the nb colors on the other. Rider was quite proud of it, and Gloves seemed to like it. They waved, and left the store, humming to themselves.
Rider looked at the clock. His shift ended in just a few minutes. He knew he had no other appointments that day, so he took to watching old recorded matches in his phone.
Those were over a decade ago. Yet he still remembered everything. His favorite part was still learning he won a match by such a small margin. It was just... amazing.
He sighed. Rider missed those battles. But he has to say, he missed his crush a bit more.
He clocked out, saying goodbye to the other employee-Cherry (business relationships were easy to maintain when your coworkers were your siblings), and headed towards the flower shop for more reasons than one.
Army had a performance the next day. And yeah, Rider knew it was romantic, but platonically giving your best friend flowers was always nice. Plus, he wanted an excuse to see Goggles again.
He looked into the shop-the blue inkling was nowhere to be seen, but then again neither was the front desk. So, Rider shrugged and stepped in.
The floral scent was strong, but not overwhelming. Plenty of blossoms lined the stands, along with tags of what the flowers were and what they meant.
Rider looked around, trying to remember which flowers Army liked again, when he heard a familiar, youthful voice.
"Hi! Need any help?"
The inkling turned around. Goggles had definitely changed since Rider last saw him; his tentacles were longer and in an actual bun, for once. His blue eyes still had that clarity, and he still had that goofy smile. Though he didn't seem to recognize Rider.
"Uhh... I'll be fine. I'm just trying to remember what flower my friend likes the most." He said, hoping his accent didn't give him away; there weren't many in Inkopolis with an Australian accent.
But, Goggles didn't seem to notice or care. "Oh, okay!"
Rider internally breathed a sigh of relief. That would have been awkward if Goggles recognized him.
He looked around the shop, before spotting a bouquet of lilies. He knew Army liked lilies. If they weren't his favorite flower, it'd be close enough.
Rider took a few of the bigger ones, and a few white roses for variety, and took them to the counter.
Goggles smiled. "This a special occasion?"
"Not exactly. Just, my friend's doing a performance for a musical and I wanted to get him something for it." Rider explained.
"What musical?" Gogs asked, arranging the flowers with a sheer, white ribbon tying them together.
"Hadestown. He got Eurydice."
"Oh! I went to go see it last night! Army's amazing at that role. He's your friend, right?"
Rider internally panicked, but calmed down after remembering he wasn't Army's only friend. "Yeah. We've been friends for a while now."
"Well, tell him I said hi!" He handed the bouquet to Rider. "On me, alright? It's for a friend anyways!"
Rider nodded. "Thanks, mate."
"You're welcome!"
------
A few weeks went by. Rider occasionally stopped at the flower shop and got flowers for...well, no real reason. He'd use them to add color to his house, or give them to friends. He just wanted an excuse to see Goggles.
He'd talked to the blue inkling a bit more, too. He'd gotten into the business since, well, he really liked flowers, and he wanted a job where he could just...relax! He still did Turf, of course, but the Adult league was more serious than the teen one, and he just wanted to have fun instead of be expected to take a game seriously.
He still didn't recognize Rider. The yellow-green inkling was a bit hurt by this, to be honest.
Though, it was a bit startling when Goggles actually walked into Rider's work. And Rider was assigned to give Goggles his first tattoo: A blue jay on his shoulder, taking off from a branch.
This time, it was Goggles' turn to ask questions as Rider worked.
"Sooo.... you've been coming into my shop for a while and I still don't know your name!" The blue inkling stated. "I mean, you can probably recognize me though!"
Rider shrugged. "Well, who can forget Goggles of the Idiot Blue team?"
Goggles giggled. "You do know me! I still don't know you!!"
"...I can assure you, we've met before that day I got Army flowers." Rider said.
"Ooh! Can I try and guess who you are?"
"Ehh, why not."
"Okay! Umm..." Goggles thought for a moment. "Clams facemask?"
Rider shook his head. "Nope."
"Inkfall?"
"Wrong."
"Eging Jr?"
"Not even close there."
"Stealth Goggles?"
"Getting closer, I'll give you that."
"....Rider?" Goggles asked.
Rider chuckled. "Took you long enough, idiot."
Goggles smiled wide. "I finally found you! Hi Riri!"
"Hey, Gogs. It's been a while."
"Yeah! I'm a bit surprised I didn't recognize you, since we were pretty close!" Goggles stated.
Rider shrugged. "Well, I'm not the most memorable person anyways."
"Riderrrrr don't say that!" Goggles said. "You're still really popular!"
"To some people, maybe. Not everyone."
There was a tense silence, other than the hum of the tattoo needle as it made the drawing.
"....So." Goggles started again. "How's life?"
"It's...well, better than it was." Rider said. "Got my own place, for one. Though it gets a bit lonely.. You?"
"I'm still living in an apartment. I really want a roommate!" Goggles proclaimed. "Maybe we could move in together?"
"..I'll think about it, Gogs. Though it might be fun being your roommate."
"Really? Thanks Rider!" Goggled smiled.
The conversation grew more casual. Rider enjoyed it; turns out Goggles had his fair share of gossip. It was kinda cool.
And as the next few days passed, Rider looked forward to each of those sessions. His crush seemed to go from "this person would be fun to date i think" to "hOLY MOTHER OF THE GODS IM IN L O V E", and it didn't help that during those meetings, Goggles had to be shirtless.
The days turned into weeks and months. Goggles moved in with Rider, and the two became incredibly close friends.
And, it came to a head near valentines day. Goggles' shop was very busy, as expected. Luckily, Squid Ink wasn't as much.
So, on his day off, just before Valentines, Rider headed to the flower shop and got a bouquet of roses. Cliché to confess on Valentines day, Rider knew, but he's a pining gay cut him some slack.
And Rider came home right as Goggles was leaving for his shift. So, that left Rider with a good 3 hours to practice his confession.
"Alright, Rider. This has to be CASUAL. 'Hey, I've liked you for over a decade but just now had the confidence to confess!' No, too creepy sounding. 'Yo, Gogs. I really like you and maybe we could go out to dinner sometimes?' ...Too casual."
....Yeah, this went on for a while.
Rider groaned, collapsing his his bed. "I wish feelings were fucking easier...I should just call Army."
So, he grabbed his phone and selected the contact, Veronica Sawyer Kinnie
"C'mon, Army... pick up."
And not one ring later, "Rider, what is it?"
"...I need romantic help. Please." Rider asked.
"Look, just because I'm married to Aloha, doesn't mean I know how I ended up here."
"Yeah, I kinda know that." He stated. "Still. I really need some help."
Army sighed. "Who is it? It's totally that one person with the raccoon story-"
"Actually, no. It's, um.... It's Goggles."
The octoling on the other end of the line could be heard sighing. "Still a morosexual I see."
"OI! You're the one who married a fuckin himbo!"
".....Touché. Still, there's a difference."
Rider huffed. "Just... give me some advice. I wanna confess to him tomorrow but I've got no idea how. I'm giving him roses, but like, there's gotta be something more I could do, y'know?"
"Have you tried asking Prince?" Army suggested. "He is the one with the obsession with rom coms and romance novels."
"This is his exam period, Army. I'm not about to potentially interrupt a cram session by asking for romantic advice!"
"Fair enough. I'd say...well, just rip off the band aid. Like... 'Hey, Goggles, I really like you and was wondering if you'd like to be my boyfriend.'"
"...Thanks, Arm. I'll, uh, give it a try."
-------
Rider couldn't sleep that well. Mainly out of anticipation.
He was gonna confess to his crush of...over a decade, at least. He didn't fuckin know what was gonna happen!
Like, would Goggles reciprocate? Would he hate Rider after it? WHAT THE FUCK WOULD HAPPEN-
He sighed. He needed to get his mind off this shit.
Rider looked over to his bedside clock: 5AM. 5 hours before his shift. 5 hours to get his shit together and plan for confessing to the world's cutest but also dumbest man later that night.
C'mon, Rider. Think. Army said to rip it off like a band aid, but Goggles might find that a little sudden and out of the blue. He could write a letter and leave it for Goggles when he went to his shift (The flower shop was closed on Valentines day). That would be a safe option.
Rider sat up, and got out a piece of paper and pencil, writing a note.
"Hey, Goggles.
There's something I've been wanting to tell you for a while. I really, really like you. As in, a crush.
I totally get it if you don't like me back, or think I'm weird, but hey, I was wondering if you'd wanna go out to dinner or something. Probably not tonight cause of Valentine's day but maybe tomorrow night or something.
-Rider"
Quickly, he folded it and wrote Goggles' name, putting a little heart sticker on it. It was corny, but hey, Rider had to use up those stickers somehow.
Rider attached it to the roses, and kept it on his desk.
And so, the morning went as normal. He had breakfast, got out of his pjs, put his hair up... the usual.
But as Rider left to go to work, he left the note and rose on the table, and left the house quickly.
During the day, he nearly forgotten all about it; He caught up with the gossip-Apparently the neighbor with the raccoon and the regular were now dating. So that was a nice little end to the story.
Squid Ink wasn't AS busy-probably because it was Valentines day, people were spending it with their lovers, not getting inked up (unless they made the appointment when single)
And it was near the end of Rider's shift when he heard his name mentioned. Probably someone making an appointment before he heard the familiar voice of Goggles going "Okay!!"
The blue inkling walked over to his station. "Hi Ridey!!"
"...Hey, Gogs. Getting another tat?" Rider asked, trying to keep his cool.
Goggles nodded. "Yeah!!!"
"A'ight anything specific in mind or-"
"Can I get just a simple quote one?"
Rider nodded. "Where do you want it?"
Goggles pulled down the collar of his shirt slightly. "Right here, please!"
"Okay. Just try to keep holding that down so I don't mess up.
-----
And so, tattoo conversations ensued.
The quote Goggles had wanted was a simple Pride one, that said "love is love". It was discreet, but a bit of it could be seen poking out if Goggles ever wore a v-neck.
"So, any plans for tonight?" Rider asked, trying to keep things subtle. Maybe Goggles hadn't read the note yet.
The blue inkling nodded. "Kinda! I had mental plans buuuuut nothing serious."
Rider raised an eyebrow. "Who with?"
"..I m-mean, I still have to ask him.." Goggles' face turned a shade of blue, and he averted his gaze.
"....Can I guess who he is?"
"If ya can!"
He smiled. "Does his name have an R in it?" Rider had a guess it was himself, but it wouldn't hurt to check.
Goggles nodded. "Yeah!"
"Got an accent?"
"Yep!!"
"Is he doing your tattoo?"
"....y-yeah?" Goggles sheepishly smiled. "I'm n-not that discreet, am I?"
Rider chuckled, but on the inside he was screeching. "Honestly? I had no clue myself."
"Really? I've been dropping the most obvious hints!"
"...Like what?" Rider asked, now a bit curious.
"Welllll I've been picking movies you like during movie night, I've made sure to get your drink on coffee runs, Oh! And I offered to cook dinner that one time!" Goggles stated.
"...Damn. I'm just oblivious then." The former dynamo user laughed, before turning off the needle. "There. It's all done." Rider held up a mirror for the blue boy.
Goggles' face lit up. "Whoa! It looks amazing!!! Thanks Riri!"
Rider smiled. "You're welcome. Now, uh, ...did you read my note?"
"..Y-yeah, I did. And, um...I like you too Rider!!" The blue man pressed a small, quick kiss to Rider's cheek.
Rider blushed. "S-so, you'll let me t-take you out?"
Goggles nodded. "Yeah!!!"
"I...thanks, Gogs."
"You're welcome Riri!!!"

Ayyyyy 💫 anon here w more c!Punz potential content
Consider,,,,reader being on Wilbur's/Tommy's side during the election and they get exiled with them, and everyone turns on them including Punz right? Well Punz has had a crush on them so while he's shooting, he's intentionally missing the reader, but when he turns to shoot at Wilbur, the reader sees and shoves Wilbur aside, taking the arrow instead. It's not deadly, but it is pretty serious, serious enough to where Tommy and Wilbur have to double back to help them. And afterward, I can just see Punz feeling horrible about it until he stumbles across them one day, outside of Pogtopia, and they're sitting by a pond, with bandages around the area they got shot at and he rushes over and starts frantically apologizing to them and fluff :D
💫 I am sending you all of the virtual hugs and kisses I can muster. I have really been in Punz feels lately and this just hits the spot. Thank you so much <3.
So you would be sitting next to your brothers, really really upset at how the election results had turned out. You had put so much time and effort into helping the two get elected and just hearing that Schlatt had won by 1% just broke your heart. So you would be sitting there, head resting on Wilbur’s shoulder, your hand holding one of Tommy’s, as you half heartedly listen to Schlatt’s speech. But then the tone shifts, the mood gets darker and Schaltt begins yelling. Your head slowly rises off of Wilbur’s shoulder and your eyes widen as Schlatt begins his decree, “Is to REVOKE the citizenship of Wilbur Soot, Tommyinnit, and Y/N.” And everyone’s heads turn to you and eyes snap to stare at you three. “Guys, we gotta go,” Wilbur mutters to the two of you. Schaltt is still talking and you watch as Ponk pulls out a bow. Movement beside him draws your attention and your eyes meet Punz’s eyes. His eyes soften ever so slightly but harden as he looks to your friend and he also draws his bow. “Now!” Wilbur demands, shoving your shoulder causing you to move into action and begin running away from your home.
Arrows began flying around you as the people that were chasing you attempted to take a life. As these arrows fly by you, you begin to notice that none of them are even close to hitting you. You take the chance and slow down, looking over your shoulder to see what was happening. There was nothing out of the ordinary, only that Ponk was the one shooting at Wilbur and Tommy and Punz was the one shooting at you. Again your eyes lock and Punz lowers his weapon ever so slightly. You don’t know this, but Punz had been in love with you since the moment he saw you. He had just never had the courage to actually do anything about it. What he didn’t know is that you felt the same way about him. So you two would dance around each other all the time. Always making nervous eye contact and blushing when it happened. Giving slight waves when you passed each other around the SMP, never fighting each other in wars and stuff. Although neither of you really knew about the other’s crush, you knew about your own and that definitely wormed its way into your decisions. So Punz is the one that breaks eye contact and it’s because Ponk yells something at him. You notice Punz’s gaze shift to Wilbur and he raises his crossbow once again and aims for your best friend. And although you’ve been running for so long, it’s now that your heart begins to pound. You pick your pace back up and run as fast as you can at Wilbur. Once you reach him, you just shove him as hard as you can forward and right. Wilbur is super confused at what just happened but continues running, until he hears your scream. Your scream causes both him and Tommy to stop in their tracks. They whip around and find you now on your knees, an arrow sticking out of the back of your thigh. Immediately Wilbur and Tommy run for you and carefully help you up, putting your arms over their shoulders and helping you continue running away. (Okay I know this is serious time but like these boys are so tall and if you’re short enough, when they put your arms around their shoulders I just picture you dangling between the two… We’re going to ignore that though and pretend that you’re tall enough to do that comfortably lol)
You three get away from the two that were shooting at you but you can’t stop even though your injured, you have to find a safe place. It takes a while, especially cause you’re moving so slow due to the arrow sticking out of your leg, but you get there. The boys sit you down on some wood and begin setting up a small camp so that they could have a clean place to take care of your leg. “I’m so sorry about this” Wilbur whispers later that night, his hand on the arrow about to pull it out. You grit your teeth and squeeze Tommy’s hand harder, “It has to be done. Just do it. You probably screamed the loudest you’ve ever screamed that night.
On the other side of the server, Punz was lying in his bed at his home, beating himself up. How could he do that? Especially to you, the one he was so obviously in love with. He should have known that you would attempt to protect Wilbur before you protected yourself and now you’re hurt and it’s all his fault. Maybe he’ll try and find you to make sure you're alright. Either way, Punz has a really hard time falling asleep that night.
It isn’t until a solid week later does he find you. He didn’t even really mean to. Punz for the whole week would go back to the place where he shot you, but this day he just kept walking. He walked for many hours just to clear his head. It isn’t until he hears running water does he realize that he has gotten so far away from home that he no longer knows where he is. So he just keeps walking to the water, hoping it would give him some sort of direction back home. He breaks through the tree line and finds the most beautiful scene. It’s a small pond that is so clear and blue that he can see all of the little fish swimming around. Lily Pads float pretty on the surface and flowers littered the ground around it. It’s beautiful and peaceful, just what Punz needed. He takes a step forward and a stick under his feet snaps and a voice startles him, “Tommy I told you to leave me alo--Oh!” Punz’s eyes snap to the voice and his breath catches at the sight before him. It’s you. You’re actually there. You are sitting by the pond with pants rolled up to your knees, feet dipping in the pound. “Hi,” He breathes out, looking at you up and down, his heart clenching at the sight of your still bandaged thigh. (You have a bandage under your pants and then one for more support on the outside as well). “Hi,” You breath back, really stunned to see him here, “What are you doing here?” You ask, your eyes not leaving his. “I… I went for a walk to clear my head and found you… How’s your thigh?” He asks, guilt filling his entire system. “Oh, uhhh. It’s alright. Better than it was, but alright…. Do you want to sit?” you ask, patting the ground next to you. Punz slowly made his way over, watching your expression for any form of discomfort as he carefully lowered himself beside you, being sure not to get his feet wet.
It’s silent between the two of you for a few moments, both of you trying to find something, anything to say. “I’m really sorry,” spills past Punz’s lips before he can stop himself, “For everything. For your exile, for shooting you… For not telling you how I felt before you left,” And you freeze. Because you never blamed him for your exile or shooting you. He did what he had to and besides, he was purposefully missing you when he was aiming for you. But as for how he felt? You never knew about that. “What are you talking about?” you would ask softly. Punz would let out a sigh and a small laugh, “I cannot believe this is what it’s going to take to confess… Y/N, I’ve been in love with you since the moment I met you. And I know you probably don’t feel the same, I mean I shot you, but I walked all the way out here because I couldn't stop thinking about you and now… Now I’m here, confessing to you…” Punz explained, very nervous. And you can’t help but let out a laugh, because this? This is what it took for your crush to tell you he likes you? Of course it would be! Punz wouldn’t be looking at you, too nervous to see your reaction, so you would have to reach up and physically turn his head to face you. “Punz,” you whisper, “I’ve been in love with you since the moment I met you too. I just never pictured that you could actually like me back… I don’t blame you for shooting me or exiling me, you did what you had to… Can I kiss you?” And Punz can only nod before you lean forward and kiss him. The kiss is filled with so much feeling. Filled with passion, a hint of disbelief, joy and just pure love. It’s perfect.
The two of you spend the rest of the day sitting there at the pond, talking and kissing. You’re there until sundown, and then Punz helps you back to Pogtopia. Tommy is really upset at the sight of ‘the enemy’ in your base, but Wilbur keeps him calm and tells him to shut up. Punz and you fall asleep cuddling in your bed and he’s still there the next morning. He has to leave the next morning, but he’ll be back soon. Now that he knows that you feel the same way, there is nothing that could keep Punz from you.

Taking turns in wearing the locket since you can't destroy it.

Crying your eyes out every night because you miss your best friend so much it hurts.
Same thing with Hermione.
“Why haven't you told him Mione?”
“Tell him what?”
“That you love him”
You give her a knowing look, she returns it with the faintest of smiles.

Looking at the statue of Lily, James amd baby Harry with sadness and awe.

The trio rushing to hug you.
Harry not able to meet your eyes.
“I'm so sorry” Hermione sobs into your neck.
You don't cry.
You can't cry.
You just sit there, feeling emptiness.
You suddenly get up, shoving everything in your way.
Ron holding you back.
"it's okay, I'm here” he reassures you.
You letting out a heart-wrenching scream that came out from god knows where.
Thank god Hermione has protection spells.
The trio tuck you into bed, making sure you were asleep.
You slept almost instantly, dreaming of your father who speaks to you.
“I'm always here, watching over you. Don't give up sweetheart, fight for your mom, dora, Remus and Cedric.”
“How'd you know about Cedric? ”
“I knew all along” he smiled
Waking up feeling slightly better the next day.
Fast forward when the snatches caught you.
Taken to Malfoy Manor
Bellatrix torturing you and craving "traitor" on your arm.
She also tries to slit your throat.
“You know? I want to murder you so badly, so you'd end up like your mudblood father, but I'll torture you, unril you beg for mercy.”
Literally screaming throughout the whole process.
“I know about Diggory, he's quite of a traitor, but his blood is pure, he won't want a filthy half-blood traitor like you with him.”
“SHUT UP, YOU DON'T KNOW HIM, SHUT U—”
being cut of with her dagger cutting your skin.
she moves on to Hermione next while you watch helplessly.
Dobby, Harry and Ron save you two.
Apparating to shell cottage.
You spot a small, weak figure in the distance.
You try reaching out for it, but you're too weak.
You loose consciousness in Ron's arms.
Next thing you knew you were in a room, Fleur watching over you.
Learning that Dobby's lost his life.
Feeling so weak.

You hide under Harry's cloak.
You get caught.
Robbing Bellatrix's vault.
Getting the horcrux and giving griphook the sword.

The order is here .
Cedric spots you.
He literally just picks you up and kisses you.
infront of everyone basically.
including the adults.

“YOU ESCAPED GRINGOTTS ON A DRAGON?!! DAMN IT LOVE HOW CRAZY CAN YOU GET?!!! ”
Harry interrupts your adorable moment.
Voldemort wants Harry.
“Potter's right here! someone grab him”
yeah of course, pugface parkinson.
literally everyone jumping in to defend Harry.
The battle has started.
You seeing Dora and running to hug her.
“MY BRAVE SISTER!” she shouts.
“Once we're outta here, we're spoiling Teddy with every inch of me.”
“I kinda approve though”
Duelling multiple death eaters.
Including Dolohov, Rookwood, Rabstan Lestrange.
Saving Malfoy's arse from the flames in the room of requirement.
Going to the shrieking shack to face Voldemort.
Snape's dead.
He's acting weird all of a sudden.
Voldemort wants Harry to meet him in the forbidden forest.
The chaos has calmed down.
You enter the great hall.
Your eyes roam around the room to find the redheads huddled together, the Diggorys, somewhat crying?
You take a closer look, seeing what they're all mourning.
You shake your head in disbelief.
Remus and Dora?
Your sister?
Your soulmate?
They just had a baby.
You felt Fred and George hug you, Hermione and Ginny hugging eachother.
You kneel down.
Your world is crushing.
They're dead but they look so peaceful.
You hugged Dora.
Ever so tightly.
The last time you'll ever hug her.
You wished you can turn the clock back, to listen to to weird sisters together, to giggle behind the Malfoys back together, to annoy your mother together.
Perhaps you could've been able to save her.
You rest your head on her chest.
Muffled voices of everyone else speaking were in the background.
But you didn't care.
You let out a cry, a small one.
You let out a slightly louder one.
You felt your chest tighten, your stomach churn, you felt your eyes twitch underneath your lids.
You heard Cedric's comforting voice.
“Shhhhhh.. I got you love”
But his words are not comforting you.
You just lay there on Dora's chest.
By that, you knew your hair will never turn pink again.
You don't know how many minutes or hours had passed by.
You heard the familiar snake-like vouce of Lord Voldemort.
“Harry Potter is dead He was killed as he ran away, trying to save himself while you lay down your lives for him. We bring you his body as proof that your hero is gone. The battle is won. You have lost half of your fighters. My Death Eaters outnumber you and the Boy Who Lived is finished. There must be no more war. Anyone who continues to resist, man, woman or child, will be slaughtered, as will every member of their family. Come out of the castle, now, kneel before me, and you shall be spared. Your parents and children, your brothers and sisters will live, and be forgiven, and you will join me in the new world we shall build together.”
You slightly lift your head.
The great hall was deadly silent.
You were sure he was lying.
You slowly walked up, holding hands with Ron and Hermione, exiting the great hall.
Voldemort and his army stood and your eyes spotted Hagrid.
He was carrying someone.
It was Harry.
Your body can't lift you anymore.
Mconagall let out a terrible scream followed by yours , Ron, Ginny, Hermione and Cedric's then everyone else.
Neville standing up to Voldemort.
He- he killed the snAKE??!!!
You just watchung Neville like a proud mom.
Cahos erupts once more.
Harry's gone?
No like seriously, he's just vanished.
poof
Spotting Cedric taking over three death eaters all at once.
Just being so proud of him.
You duelling Rodolphus Lestrange.
Took over him (as you should)
Moving to Bellatrix Lestrange.
Duelling her with Hermione, Luna and Ginny.
Bitch just aimed a killing curse at Ginny??!
About to make your move but-
“Not my daughter you bitch”
literally internally screaming because MOLLY WEASLEY DID NOT JUST CUSS???
Bellatrix's downfall.
Just felt a bit relaxed.
Voldemort is about to kill Molly but—
FUCK??
HARRY??
DID THIS MOTHERFUCKER TURN INTO A GHOST TO KILL VOLDEMORT?!!
Voldemort's downfall.
The man who everyone feared sayimg his name, just, fell down.
dead
Post-battle
You hug your mom so tight , she knew about everything.
You raising Teddy along with your mother and Harry.
You still have nightmares and trauma from the war.
But, Cedric was always there for you.
Not like he was any better, but you two comfort eachother.
Him placing soft, small kisses around your "traitor" scar after telling him about the Malfoy Manor events.
You, Harry, Ron amd Hermione gather at the burrow, just sitting there in comfortable silence, holding eachother.
Three years pass by and Cedric's on one knee, asking you to be his forever.
You frantically saying “Yes” before hugging him.
You were now an auror, just like Dora.
The wedding was so simple.
You had Hermione, Ginny and Luna as your bridesmaids.
Looking at the empty seats made especially for your father, Remus, Dora and Sirius.
Saying "I do" before leaning in and kissing him.
And for the first time in three years, your hair turned pink again.
