Sorry if I'm overdoing it with yet another request.
Levi Ackerman x female reader
fluff/ one shot
Levi and Y/N are married and they have a 3 year old son. There is a visit from Santa Claus at the mall. The boy learned that his father's birthday is on the same day as Christmas. So, he demands two gifts from Santa Claus for Levi and also for himself. The boy says he also wants his birthday to be at Christmas too.
I don't know if I managed to make you understand. But the story would be fun too.
Thanks. I don't know if the same person can make another request.

Furlan was fascinated by the prospect of the shopping mall having a Santa Claus who could grant your Christmas wishes.
He thought Santa was only supposed to live in the North Pole, but his Aunt and Godmother, Hange had told him all about it.
She told him that Santa sometimes had to travel to shopping malls because then he could make sure he was getting everybody’s Christmas wish correct.
He couldn’t wait.
Levi was less than ecstatic when I told him about our weekend plans to visit the mall Santa that Saturday, but he went along with it to make Furlan happy.
That Saturday morning, we had been rudely awoken by Furlan’s excited shouts as he flung himself onto our bed giggling to himself.
Levi took him into his arms before placing a kiss on the top of his head and whispering a quick good morning to me.
Furlan had been counting down the days ever since Hange told him about the legendary mall Santa.
I got myself dressed whilst Levi got Furlan ready, then grabbed my handbag and jacket before heading down to the front door.
Levi had already strapped Furlan into his car seat and had opened the passenger door for me to climb into. As I got into my seat, I paced a chaste kiss on his cheek before he closed the car door behind me.
The entire drive was full of Furlan’s cheery voice singing his favourite Christmas songs.
“Hange!” Furlan shouted, pointing out the window as we pulled into the shopping mall car park. And sure enough, he was right. Next to her beat up pickup truck, Hange stood excitedly waving at us as we pulled into the parking space beside her in Levi’s sleek, black car.
Furlan wiggled with excitement in his seat as he anxiously waited for Levi to unstrap him so that he could rush to his Aunt.
“I didn’t know you were coming.” Levi huffed, secretly glad to see his friend.
“Y/N here mentioned that you weren’t quite done Christmas shopping, so I figured I would come and keep her company whilst you and Erwin finished shopping.” She explained happily, hugging me tightly as we laughed.
“Erwin?” Levi questioned, his eyebrow raising.
“Yep!” Hange exclaimed with glee, pointing at the white range rover that had just pulled into the car park a few spaces along from them.
Erwin exited his car with a big wave as Furlan giggled in Hange’s arms at his Godfather.
“So what, you’re shipping Erwin and I off while you two go to visit Santa?” Levi asked with his usual frown.
“Yep!” I exclaimed, kissing his cheek.
Erwin walked over to the group and immediately began to usher Levi into the mall to “escape the wrath of Hange” as he put it, since he still hadn’t managed to bring a plus one to the annual Christmas party.
Hange and I entered the shopping mall shortly after Erwin and Levi.
The plan was to look in some of the shops before heading to the ‘North Pole’ that had been set up outside of one of the larger department stores in the mall.
We would meet Levi and Erwin there, as Levi still wanted to take his son to see Santa, despite the fact that he was never a huge fan of the holiday, or the excess decorations that looked messy and cluttered when they were hung up in the bust shopping mall.
“So, what have you gotten Levi? Because I have no idea.” Hange asked.
“For Christmas, or his birthday?” I replied.
“Christmas, you know he only lets you get him birthday gifts.” Hange replied.
“I got him a new winter coat that he asked for, and a new teacup for his collection.” I replied. The teacup was tradition, so there was very little point in me even telling Hange that I had purchased it for Levi.
“Ugh, that’s boring!” Hange complained.
“Hey, you asked.” I defended. “And besides, you know Levi only ever asks for practical things if he really needs them, and even then he only asks me to get them for him.” I finished with a laugh.
“But seriously, I want to  get him something and you are literally his wife so give me answers!” She demanded, practically hanging off of my arm.
“Why don’t you get him some new gloves? He likes those leather ones but they have a hole in the pinkie.” I suggested, making Hange’s eyes roll. She never liked getting anyone practical gifts.
“But that’s boring.” She complained.
“But Levi will like it.” I mocked her tone.
“Ugh, why is your father so dull, Furlan?” Hange asked my son who clutched my hand tightly in his own.
“He’s not dull, he just has specific tastes.” Furlan recited to Hange what Levi often said to him when he didn’t want to get the pain sets out.
Hange and I both burst out laughing at my son’s robotic response, sounding exactly like his father.
“Okay, back to the topic at hand.” Hange began once again. “So I can’t get Levi anything for his birthday? Only Christmas?”
“Hange, you know the answer.” I began.
“I know! But I just figured that since they fall on the same day, it shouldn’t matter what I get him because they will blur together anyway.” She explained.
“You do have a point, but you know he doesn’t like his birthday.” I went on.
“I know. I guess I just keep hoping that one year he’ll change his mind and want to celebrate it.” Hange added with a sigh.
“What are you talking about mama?” Furlan asked.
“Your dad’s birthday.” I replied. I didn’t want to have to explain to Furlan why his father hated his birthday.
“Does daddy not like his birthday?” He asked. His large, round grey eyes staring back up at me.
“No, he doesn’t sweetie.” I replied with a smile.
“Why not?” He asked. Shit. There was that question that I didn’t want to ever have to answer.
“Well, kiddo, you know how I don’t like bananas?” Hange asked, leaning down to Furlan’s eye-level. He nodded his head. “Well, your dad just doesn’t like his birthday. He never has the whole time I’ve known him.” She finished, patting Furlan on the head and standing back up to her full height.
“Just get him the gloves so he can stop complaining about the hole in the pinkie finger.” I laughed after a brief moment of pause.
After much complaining from Hange, we managed to buy the gloves and head back to the agreed meeting spot.
Levi and Erwin stood next to one of the pillars by the makeshift ‘North Pole’, Erwin towering over Levi as usual.
“Daddy!” Furlan called as he let go of my hand and ran into his father’s arms.
“Are you excited to meet Santa bud?” Levi asked our son who beamed up at him, nodding his head frantically.
I took Furlan’s hand and led him over to the queue where he was to wait until it was his turn to sit on Santa’s lap.
The line went down quickly as each child took their turn to make their wish to Santa.
Suddenly, it was Furlan’s turn.
He walked up to Santa with a big smile on his face and giggled as Santa lifted him up onto his lap. I rejoined Levi and the others by the pillar.
“So, young man, what’s your name?” Santa asked Furlan.
“Furlan Ackerman!” He exclaimed with excitement, making Santa laugh.
“And what would you, Furlan Ackerman, like for Christmas?” He asked.
Furlan thought for a moment before answering.
“well… I have tow wishes.” He said timidly.
“Two!” Santa exclaimed. “Well, I suppose since you have been such a good boy this year, I can grant you two wishes.” Furlan smiled before answering.
“My Daddy’s birthday is on Christmas, but he doesn’t like his birthday, and I think that’s sad. So my first wish is that my Daddy likes his birthday again so we can all have fun and he can get even more presents!” I could feel Levi tense ever so slightly beside me.
“I see.” Santa paused for a second. “And what about your second wish?”
“I wish that my birthday was Christmas too, so that my Daddy and I can share a party and get more presents too!” Furlan exclaimed with excitement.
“Well.” Santa began. “I can’t change your birthday, but I’ll see if I can do anything about your father enjoying his birthday.”
Furlan beamed with joy at Santa’s words.
“Take this for yourself.” Santa held out a small wrapped package to Furlan, “ And take this for your father.”
Furlan took both gifts, thanked Santa before hurrying back to where we all waited beside the pillar.
As soon as he reached us, Furlan handed Levi the gift that Santa had given him.
“Open it.” Furlan demanded, sounding exactly like his father.
Levi hesitantly peeled back the red wrapping paper to reveal a small keyring with two wings on them. One of them blue, and the other white. It was an insignificant little keyring, but for some reason, it made Levi begin to tear up.
Then it hit you. Levi didn’t hate the idea of his birthday anymore, because he had his own family to re-write the past with.
Furlan’s wish to the mall Santa, made Levi realise how loved he truly was.
And that small, cheap keyring was a symbol of the love from a son to his father, which Levi would treasure forever.

So many, yet so few things could comfort you in a time of discomfort such as this.
A favorite show here, a snack there; sometimes a warm scented bath or some fantasy novel in your hand safely in the comfort of your bed…
But nothing quite did it like wearing Levi's sweater.
The times he was away for the day at work always affected the bad days you had, making them much worse.
But wrapping yourself up in something of his, that smelled of him and provided a warmth much like his embrace; well, it would do until he returned.

“Do you have jumper cables? I think my battery is drained.”
Levi was torn between being mesmerized or utterly befuddled; the longer he stared, the more it creeped you out.
The odds have always been stacked against him, but this was a new low.
“Just my fucking luck,” he murmurs.
“Excuse me,” you questioned, looking over at him from the front of your car, before recognition finally flashes over your eyes.
“You’re the weird guy from the coffee shop,” you finally say, and Levi watches as you search for his name.
Don’t say it, don’t say it—
“Ah—Levi.”
Shit.

more modern au levi fluff
levi x fem!reader (this time)
I had this one on draft for a bit, more of a situational thing about Levi being too fucking handsome for his own good
TW: Just a lot of cussing really
Going out anywhere public with Levi was always a personal challenge for you. It was ironic, you were the one beginning and dragging him to come along with you to shop or grab a coffee somewhere, wanting to be able to do things a little bit differently than just minding yourselves at his place, but once you both arrived somewhere mildly public, regret began to instantly fill you up.
Now, you understood Levi wasn’t the most charming or socially outgoing person in the world. In fact, this was one of the things you liked about him, that he minded his own business and didn’t have a need to project himself out into the world. For him, a ‘perfect’ day with you was to sit down at home, brew up some tea, and sit quietly with you while reading some book and you tapped away at your phone. Initially you had no problems with this, wanting to spend as much time as you wanted with him, but you admitted to him wanting to start doing things outside the typical routine. He fought with you about it at first, but you knew he would eventually give in for the sake of making you happy (and for you to shut up about it.)
It was so bizarre. Well, not really, you understood why he got the type of attention he did. Again, Levi was not the most approachable or socially charming guy, and in being realistic about things, it wasn’t like his stature was the most sought after feature. Yes you knew he was a short fella in contrast to some of the other people you have dated, but he made up for it in many other ways. Anyways, Levi presented himself in a very particular way which honestly, appealed to the female gaze.
And damn it did he keep attracting all of these other women.
You slowly began to notice that practically everywhere you two went (well not everywhere, but mostly), there would be at least one or two women drawn to him in ways which were more than obvious to you. The long drawn out stares, the slight curve of their lips, if they were a store attendant or cashier, they would suddenly become more perky and giggly with their customer service attitude. And what pissed you off the most is how oblivious he seemed about it all. Levi wasn’t stupid, you knew that. At some point he must recognize the effect he had on other women, right? Albeit, you gave him props for not entertaining them or reciprocating some of the more flirtatious advances, but man did it make you a bit self conscious about your role in the relationship. Again, you loved this about him, how he did not seem to give a shit about it all as long as he was there with you. You honestly had nothing to worry about regarding his loyalty to you.
It was more about you trying to hold back and not make it obvious in your face that you were livid about the type of attention he was getting. You didn’t want to come off as possessive or jealous of him, knowing these were big no nos. Unfortunately, you were the type to be easily read solely by the slight expression on your face, and Levi being Levi, was able to catch on that shit instantly.
You both ended up going to one of your favorite book stores during one of these occasions. You both usually would veer off separately to explore different things in the store. He was more inclined to check out something related to personal wellness or fitness while you tinkered around with knick knacks and small gifts around the store. It was a nice feeling, you both were independent enough to do whatever you wanted to but it was still a time you both spent together. There was no need for you to cling onto him 24/7 or to be watchful of what he was doing, and he did the same with you.
Once you felt satisfied with what you found (a small Gudetama plush that you knew he would make a comment about), you went to go look for Levi through the aisles of books, keeping an eye out for his signature all black outfit. Honestly, it didn’t even cross your mind that leaving him alone in some niche book store would be a factor in reeling in attention from the type of people in these settings. Young college students, artsy folk, women trying to fish out a seemingly brooding man, dressed up in perfectly fitted slacks, a dark long sleeve rolled up to his forearms, dark hair just freshly cut, with a soft woodsy aroma from his cologne, flipping through the pages of a book in a pensive manner… Goddammit, there was already someone trying to talk to him.
You stopped mid-step as you caught Levi in an aisle with a younger looking girl, making attempts to have a conversation with him. It looked like she was one of the book store workers and it was obvious she had a means to get close to him. You instantly felt your stomach twist and distort in an uncomfortable manner at the sight, quickly taking a step back to hide behind the aisle behind them. You softly cursed under your breath, knowing you were getting too worked up to simply walk up to him as if nothing. The dumbass was literally just standing there unaware of this girl walking up to him, without any clue of what her intent was, and while you were confident he would reject any advance, you were paranoid about how insistent this person might be.
You could hear a low conversation between the two of them, and your curiosity piqued at what was going on.You moved a little further down the aisle and grabbed a random book, pretending to be invested in it, as you scooched your ear in closer to have a listen to what they were talking about. You were close just enough to be able to hear their conversation without making it too obvious, perfectly hidden in plain sight.
Should you have been spying on them in this way? Probably not. Would you get a scolding from Levi once he found out about it? Well, yeah, but you’d take the risk.
“Are these books really worth it? I might consider getting some myself if you agree.” You heard her say to him. “They’re ok.” You heard Levi comment to her in his usual bland way as his gaze remained on the book he held, flipping a page over.
“It’s hard to find something that really catches your eyes sometimes huh?.” “No, I can find something I like pretty easily.” “Lucky you then! Well, I was wondering if you needed help with anything.” “I’m fine, thanks.”
You held in a snort at how curt he was with her. You felt a little bad actually. It wasn’t easy trying to have a simple conversation with him, but his demeanor only encouraged women to be a bit more aggressive with their approach. The harder he pushed, the more they wanted to see if they could break him down. The shorty really had that allure about him.
There was an awkward silence between the two of them for a bit, and you debated about just walking up to him and making it obvious that he wasn’t available, but she continued to probe at him.
“So, I haven’t seen you come in here before. Is this your first time checking us out? ” She asked him.
“I’ve been here before.”
“Oh! A lot of regulars come here and I’m usually good at spotting them, but you stood out to me for some reason.”
“I don’t come here often.”
She giggled. “Well, you should. We have a lot of events during the weekends, maybe you should come and check them out? Oh, I didn’t catch your name!” “Why do you want to know my name?” Levi asked, now looking up from his book, his gaze narrowing onto her. His tone was stern, and you couldn’t really tell if he was intentionally being standoffish or if it was genuine curiosity.
“Just, being friendly? Hah.” “I’m not someone you should be friendly with right now.”
If you weren’t turned on by him before, you certainly were now with that type of answer. Dammit, Levi.
“Oh sorry. Look I get it. Maybe I came off a bit too upfront about it.” She explained. “But, I do think you’re good looking, and I wanted to see if you wanted to grab some coffee around the corner?” You had to admire her bravery, not a lot of women were so bold in that way when it came to asking someone out, especially someone like Levi who already made an insinuation about wanting to be left alone. “I don’t think so.”
You could almost feel how dejected this young girl was after that type of reaction. “Oh, okay cool. No worries.” She said with a pseudo laugh. “But, do you mind me asking why?”
“Because my girlfriend is literally down the aisle over there.” He said as a matter of fact, pointing over to you.
Your mouth fell open as you immediately brought your book up to your face, turning around, making it obvious that you were indeed tuning into the whole interaction. Why the fuck would he do this!
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry.” the young girl exclaimed, genuinely embarrassed about the whole thing as she covered her mouth. “I really didn’t know, I’m so sorry sir..” She began to walk away dejectedly, not daring to look back at the both of you. You saw her from the corner of your eyes walk away towards the front of the store, possibly as far away from the encounter as she could.
Well, at least that was done and over with.
You carefully tip toe towards Levi, who begins to put his book back into the shelf, seemingly unbothered by the whole situation. “Hi…” You say to him sheepishly. “Man, that must have been uncomfortable.”
His neck snaps to quickly look at you, his eyes narrowed in irritation. “Why the fuck were you just standing there watching me like some creep? You could have pulled me out of that awkward situation.” You couldn’t help but sputter a chuckle. “Awkward? It seemed like you had a good handle on it. Albeit, a little mean…” He scoffed. “How was I being mean? I was being honest. Besides, if I was actually nice to her you would have been throwing a tantrum about it right now.”
“Hey! That’s not…necessarily true.”
“Whatever. Think you were being sneaky and shit back there? I know you were waiting to see if I would slip up.” You felt your face heat up, tripping on your words as you tried to explain yourself. “I wasn’t worried about that!”
“Yeah right. I could practically feel you panic from all the way over there.”
“Well!” You exclaimed, pausing for a moment. “Why the fuck do you have to always have these girls throw themselves onto you.” Oh you hit a nerve. He grunted and grabbed a handful of your hair, yanking it (not too hard of course) but enough to prove a point. “What did you say you little brat?”
You  yelped slightly as he did this, but only for dramatic effect, as you held onto his wrist. “You heard me. Would it kill you to like, not be so goddamn good looking and make me compete with all these other girls?”
“You’re such a shithead.” He hissed as he let go of your hair. “If you’re so concerned about it, then stop leaving me by myself.” You pouted at him, patting your hair back into place. “In all seriousness though, I’ve been kind of hating going out now because of this. So you win if you wanna go back to lounging at home.”
He raised an eyebrow at you, not fully expecting the conversation to turn this way. “What are you talking about? Are you really that upset with that girl hitting on me?”
You rolled your eyes, an irritated sigh escaping your lips. “It’s not that. It hasn’t been this one incident you know. Or are you really that oblivious about the type of attention you attract?”
He shoved his hands into his pockets, swinging slightly to the side as he gave some thought to what you were insinuating. “Of course I know, I’m not stupid. But why does that bother you? I don’t do anything.”
“I know you won’t do anything.” You reaffirm this, a pained smile forming on your face. “But, if I am being honest, it does make me a bit self-conscious. It’s not fun sometimes seeing these beautiful women fawn over you.”
He stayed in silence with you for a moment or so, still processing the information you gave him. You supposed he wasn’t too happy with what you had to say, whether it was part jealousy or part insecurity on your end. It was honesty on your part however. You wondered, at some points, how willing he would be with some of these advances if you weren’t in the picture. Or if he might even have a better opportunity of being happier with someone else rather than you. It was a vicious little thing, your mind.
You were brought back to reality by the sensation of his hand reaching out for yours, his fingers interlacing into your own until there was a secure hold. You looked at him and he looked at you, his face strong and stern, but still bearing a need to relay a message to you.
“Let’s go home.” He said softly and simply. It wasn’t a dramatic show of love and care one would expect, but you knew in his language, this was his way to validate you and your role. “I want to spend the rest of the day there.”
You blink for a moment, and slowly nod your head, feeling a little meek with his intent. “Okay.”
“But, we’re going out tomorrow.”
“Huh?”
He sighed. “Look, I can’t really stop shit like this from happening. Trust me, I really would rather stay home the whole time. But I know you like doing this, and it makes you happy. Plus, I obviously need to do a better job about making you feel more secure with me.”
An uncontrollable smile formed on your face as your own hand gripped harder onto his. “Are you sure?”
“It’s fine. But you need to cut that shit out about feeling like you aren’t good enough for me.” He scolded you. “You should know me by now, I ain’t messing around with this stuff.”
“Okay, okay.” You jested with a nervous laugh. “I promise I won’t doubt you.”
“Good.” He said, then coming in close to your face, placing a tender and rather shy kiss on your lips. You felt your face heat up as you allowed him to pepper your lips with his own for a bit, before he quickly pulled back, no one usually for PDA.
He grunted, but with a satisfied look on his face. “Let’s go. Everything is kind of shitty in here today.”
“Alrighty, let me just pay up for this at the front real quick.” You said as you showed him the Gudetama plush you found. “Cute huh?” He cocked his head to the side as he inspected it from afar. “You’re buying that?”
“Yeah, what’s wrong with it?” “Looks stupid. But I guess it suits you.”
“Cool beans, it's for me not for you.”
“So snarky. Fine let's go, I want to go home already.” Levi said as he yanked the plush away from you and made his way to pay at the front. “Hey! You better not pay for that!” You exclaimed as you followed him.
“Shut up.”

Levi Ackerman, your history professor whose stoic and sharp figure lingers in your mind far longer than you would ever admit.
The way he carries himself, those sharp gray eyes that seem to follow you every time he moves around the classroom—even when you change seats, even when you're tucked away in the back row—they always land on you.
Damn him for having those thoughts, where his pretty little and bright student provokes heated fantasies when it’s late at night, and he’s lying in bed next to the woman who's supposed to be his wife…
A week ago he had discovered her chats with another man. Texts, photos, everything he despised coming from the person he trusted and loved. He hadn’t said a thing, he acted colder, furious, even aggressive, but stayed silent. He didn’t know why, couldn’t comprehend his own thoughts. He wanted to destroy everything in their room, scream at her and pushed her out of his life, but that wouldn’t satisfy him. Not. One. Bit.
Days passed in a blur. Classes. You. Your clothes. Your eyes. The way you furrowed when focusing on whatever he was explaining in class, the way you said his name... Fuck.
You weren’t so innocent, you caught him glancing your way every time, you lingered and stayed with him longer than you needed, full of questions—or excuses. Your head tilted just so, that subtle smile on your lips. It was driving him insane. Even more so as the betrayal he'd suffered replayed in his mind, over and over again.
Hard times… unbearable times, in which he locked himself in his room the moment his so-called wife was out of sight. A visible bulge on his pants.
"Pathetic," he muttered to himself. He couldn’t have those thoughts for a student, could he? And still, he would jerk off to images he saved on deeper parts of his mind.
He didn’t feel guilty when he finished, he would clean up, methodically as he always did.
The thoughts of his student, of you, stayed. You had become his obsession, the one thing keeping him tethered to life after the betrayal. Somehow, you'd lit a spark in him—that warm sensation in his chest he hadn’t felt in years. Maybe that’s when he realized what had to be done.
Confront his wife. He needed to end it.
An when it was over, when all his rage had burned through him, he sold the house. He packed what he wanted to keep—the necessary, and moved into a quiet, simple apartment where he could be alone.
He would still wait. Wait for the semester to end, wait for the day you were no longer his student. And then, after weeks, months of self-restraint, a simple text would pop up on your phone.
"Wanna grab some coffee?"
Wanted to write something about Levi in a modern au as a professor, so…

“Hot chocolate is already so sweet, does it really need that?”
You smile at the dark haired man, your exhales marked by puffs surrounding your lips. Levi looks away before he allows himself to look at you any further.
“Marshmallows are nice Levi, try it,” and you shove your styrofoam cup towards him.
When had he permitted you such liberties?
The opening had an imprint of your red lips, and you were so casual about it that it made Levi’s stomach flutter sickeningly.
Your smile drops as you watch Levi’s face redden.
“Levi? You alri—”
“I’m fine!”
He indeed wasn’t.

i wanna see Kuchel Ackerman interacting with reader SO BAD. so here it is! levi x reader modern au (Gender neutral pronouns for reader. SFW)
---
You stepped into Levi's teashop again, just like you did every morning for the past four months. Before any other customer came in, you’d arrive, order the exact same tea, flirt with him (or at least try to), get rejected, and then leave.
"Hi, handsome!" you chirped as you walked through the door, flashing him your brightest smile. "You're looking as pret-tea as usual." So proud of your cheeky pickup lines, weren’t you?
Levi sighed, his brows furrowing as he wiped the counter. "Good morning," he muttered, not looking up. "Regular?"
Oh, isn't he just the sweetest? Already knowing your favorite order—you wish. He knew a ton of things about you by now, but not because he was interested. No, it was because you reintroduced yourself AT LEAST twice a week. He knew your name, age, job, the name of your first fish, and even that middle school friend you still had beef with. He knew it all.
"Aww, look at you! Memorizing my order?" you teased, leaning on the counter to get a better look at him.
"No," he deadpanned. "It’s just the cheapest tea in the shop, and you order it every time you come in." He stepped back like you were a germ that he had to stay away from
“There’s a customer already?” an unfamiliar voice called from the prep area. You frowned—new employee? But no, as soon as she stepped out, you realized this wasn’t just anyone. She was one of the most jaw-dropping women you'd ever seen. Long black hair, steel-grey eyes, pale skin, and a sweet smile as she walked to the counter. Definitely related to Levi.
Ignoring Levi, she smiled directly at you. “Hi, what can we get for you today?”
Okay, you were persistent, but you weren’t dumb. She was obviously related to him. His sister? His mom? Either way, time to impress.
“I already got the ord—” Levi started, but you cut him off.
“Hi! I love your eyes!” you said, beaming at her. She smiled, a little shyly. “You’re so sweet, thank you.”
“I’m changing my order,” you declared, causing Levi to pause and raise an eyebrow. “I’ll have a cup of jasmine tea,” you continued, scanning the menu above. “And, uh... lemon cheesecake, and that thing.. I can’t pronounce.”
You were picking the most expensive items on the menu. Levi couldn’t help the faint smile that tugged at his lips.
“Sure, dear, we’ll get it right out for you,” the woman—probably his mom—replied sweetly, turning to help Levi. Getting a smile from someone related to him? Wild. You thought his whole bloodline had to be as stoic as he was.
After you got your tea and moved to a table by the window, you glanced back at the counter. Kuchel nudged Levi with her elbow, her eyes glinting with amusement. "So... who’s that?" she asked, a teasing lilt to her voice.
"Tch. No one. Just a regular customer," Levi replied with a shrug, continuing to wipe the counter as if it was his life’s mission.
“Really? They seemed interested in you,” she added, clearly enjoying the moment. Levi sighed. Maybe bringing his mother here had been a mistake. “They are,” he admitted, moving to brew a fresh pot of tea.
Kuchel’s smile widened. "They're pretty, aren’t they?" He paused, visibly uncomfortable but unable to deny it. “… I guess?”
"Alright then," Kuchel said, clearly up to something, before leaving the counter to sit across from you.
'Oh god,' Levi thought, feeling a headache coming on. He knew what his mom was about to do…
You blinked in surprise as Levi’s mom—Kuchel —sat right across from you, a warm smile on her face. You glanced at Levi, who was now standing behind the counter with the most deadpan expression, silently begging the universe to stop this.
“So, how long have you been coming to this shop?” Kuchel asked, leaning in like this was a cozy little chat between best friends.
You tried not to choke on your tea. “Uh, about four months now. I, uh, really like the tea here.”
And the view, you thought but wisely kept to yourself.
“Four months! That’s dedication,” she remarked with a knowing smile. “Levi must really enjoy seeing such a loyal customer every morning.” Levi’s eye twitched from across the room.
“Uh, yeah, it’s nice to see a familiar face,” you said, laughing nervously. Kuchel nodded, clearly entertained. “You know, he doesn’t usually get attached to customers, but I think you might be special.” She paused dramatically, then added, “He talks about you all the time.”
Your heart skipped a beat. Wait, what?
Levi nearly dropped the teapot. “Mom,” he said sharply, voice low with a warning edge. what the fuck now
“Oh, hush, I’m just making conversation,” Kuchel waved him off, fully embracing her mom duties. “He mentioned just the other day how you always come in so cheerful and—” she leaned in as if sharing a secret—“how you flirt with him every morning.”
Your face burned, and Levi’s hand gripped the counter so tightly it might break.
You stammered. “H-he told you that?”
“Well, no, but it’s pretty obvious, isn’t it?” she winked. “And you know, Levi here could use someone with your energy. He’s always so serious, isn’t he?” She turned her head slightly to address her son. “Levi, dear, you should take some notes—this one knows how to have fun.”
Levi groaned audibly. “Mom, please.”
You almost choked on your tea again. This was both mortifying and the best thing that had ever happened.
Kuchel continued undeterred. “He’s really sweet once you get to know him, you know? Sure, he’s got that broody, ‘I-don’t-care-about-anything’ look, but deep down, he’s very caring. Protective, too. He always makes sure I’m taken care of. Isn’t that right, Levi?”
Levi’s glare could’ve melted steel at this point. “I am right here, Mom.”
“Oh, don’t be so shy,” she teased, ignoring him completely. “What’s your name, dear?” she asked, turning back to you.
You told her, still a bit flustered but managing to smile. Kuchel’s face lit up.
“What a beautiful name! It would sound so lovely with Ackerman,’ don’t you think?”
You almost spat out your tea. Levi nearly knocked over a stack of teacups. “Mom!”
Kuchel giggled, clearly enjoying every second of this. “What? I’m just saying. No harm in thinking about the future, right?”
Levi closed his eyes and took a slow, deep breath, as if summoning every ounce of patience in his body. “I’m going to the back,” he muttered, turning away before his mom could cause any further damage.
Kuchel just smiled after him, unfazed. “Well, he’ll come around eventually. Boys like him always do. Anyway, you’re welcome to stay as long as you like, dear. And don’t worry—I’ll make sure he brews your tea just right.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at this point. “Thank you. I’ll definitely keep coming back.”
As Levi disappeared into the back of the shop, probably questioning every life decision that led him to this moment, Kuchel leaned in one last time. “Don’t give up on him,” she whispered conspiratorially. “He needs someone to loosen him up. And between you and me…” She grinned, eyes twinkling. “I think you’re perfect for the job.”
You were certain Levi was somewhere back there facepalming so hard, but honestly? You were starting to like Kuchel a lot.
