The Old Fortress of Arles
When Charlemagne was dead and Christendom almost extinguished the barbarian and the Saracen alternately built, and broke against, a keep that still stands and that is still so strong that one might still defend it. It is unlit. It is a dungeon; a ponderous menace above the main street of the city, blind and enormous. It is the very time it comes from.

The Water Outlaws by S. L. Huang
Mountain outlaws on the margins of society, the Bandits of Liangshan proclaim a belief in justice—for women, for the downtrodden, for progressive thinkers a corrupt Empire would imprison or destroy. They’re also murderers, thieves, smugglers, and cutthroats. Together, they could bring down an empire.

Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune
The long-awaited sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea is a story of resistance, lovingly told, about the daunting experience of fighting for the life you want to live and doing the work to keep it. Welcome back to Marsyas Island—home to six magical and purportedly dangerous children. This is Arthur’s story.

The West Passage by @jpechacek
When the Guardian of the West Passage dies in her bed, the women of Grey Tower feed her to the crows and go back to their chores. No successor is named, and no hand takes up the fallen blade, so the West Passage—the ancient byways of the beast—goes unguarded. This is a weird and delightful journey across a deliriously medieval landscape where decay thrives in abundance and giant Ladies rule a palace the size of a city.
Blood Debts by Terry J. Benton-Walker
On the thirtieth anniversary of the largest magical massacre in New Orleans history, Clement and Cristina Trudeau mourn their father and care for their sick mother. But their mother isn’t sick, they learn: She’s cursed. Cursed by a member of the same magic council over which she used to preside. Cursed by someone who will come for Clement and Cristina next.

Bury Your Gays by @drchucktingle
After so many years, Misha’s big Oscar moment is here. All he has to do? Kill off the gay characters in his long-running streaming series, “for the algorithm.” Misha refuses, but that’s hardly the end, because monsters from his old horror movie days have begun to step out from the silver screen and stalk him.
The Brides of High Hill by Nghi Vo
The Cleric Chih accompanies a young bride to her wedding to Lord Guo, the aging ruler of a crumbling estate, but amid the elaborate courtesies and extravagant banquets, they realize something haunts the shadowed halls. As the big night nears close, Chih will learn that not all monsters dwell in shadows; some hide in plain sight.

Remedial Magic by Melissa Marr
1) An unassuming librarian falls in love with a powerful witch.
2) Previous librarian discovers she too is a witch…
3) …and that she must attend magical community college to learn how to save her new world from annihilation.
Swordcrossed by @fahye
Part-time con artist / full-time charming menace Luca Piere didn’t expect to get blackmailed into teaching a chronically responsible merchant Matti how to wield a sword. He also didn’t expect to find his charge so inconveniently handsome, or to get so entangled in his tale of intrigue, sabotage, and matrimony.
It’s important to read Swordcrossed because while you’re reading gay fiction, you can also study the blade.

Nael Hilles had just finished building his brand new home on October 7th, which took nearly 2 years to complete. He was about to get married, and looked forward to starting a family in his new home. Soon after it was completed, however, Nael’s home was destroyed by IOF bombardment. Nael and his family now have nowhere to live. They lost their careers and their educations to the occupation’s campaign of destruction, leaving them with no way to rebuild.
Nael and his family made the difficult decision to leave Gaza in search of safety and stability. His family is large, comprising 8 people: himself, his fiancée, his parents, and his siblings. As the cost of evacuation is $5000/person, the amount of money they need in order to leave Gaza for Egypt is substantial. They have made some progress, but are still very far behind their goal.
Please help this family get to safety outside Gaza. Even a few dollars can go a long way. If you cannot donate, you can support Nael’s family by reblogging this post and the posts on Nael’s blog @nael-helles, and reposting this link across all of your social media accounts.

I was refreshed, as though by the resurrection of something loved and thought dead. I was no longer afraid of Time.

The year is 20XX. The MCYT cisgender nonbinary icon tournament is underway. Zedaph and Grian girlies (gender neutral) are fighting to the death in the tags during their bracket. Cleo is watching everything go down with a bucket of popcorn in their hands and occasional posts on bluesky. Joe tried to get himself entered in but was disqualified before the tournament began because they're a genuine gender icon. Scarlet Pearl ends up in the tournament for having such Woman energy in animatics that it causes a kind of integer overflow. Firebreathman ends up winning cause of that one twitch rivals mcc.

Staiti, Calabria, Italy
Set among the Aspromonte mountains, Staiti is an ancient Byzantine village as evidenced by the Greek linguistic heritage present in the dialect of the inhabitants and in the numerous archaeological finds found on site.
Among the most evocative places there is undoubtedly the abbey of Santa Maria de' Tridetti, a Byzantine monument from the 11th century. It is a very particular temple that combines various styles: Arabic, Byzantine and Norman.
A legend has it that once upon a time in the same area there stood a small temple built by Greek colonists from nearby Locri in the 5th-6th century BC. C., built in honor of the god Neptune. A sign of thanks for saving them from a storm.
According to the story, his statue had been covered by a precious jeweled cloak, which was then stolen by Hannibal during his stay on the Ionian coast of Calabria. The aim was to punish the Locrians, allies of Rome.
As evidence of this, a coin depicting the god of the sea was also found in the current church.
Centuries later, the Basilian monks coming from West Asia took possession of the structure between the 7th and 8th centuries, transforming it into a Greek church in honor of the Madonna of the Trident (an allusion to the divinity of the sea), which later became Tridetti. According to a different etymological interpretation, however, the word could derive from the Greek tridactilon (three fingers) to indicate the blessing Child in the arms of the Virgin.
