I feel like we dont talk about one of the main reasons nico was ostracized at camp, not just because hes a son of hades.

Camp half blood is small enough so that rumors and information spread fast, but that doesn't mean they are always right. So imagine you're a random camper, and you're told nico, one of the new campers, gets in a big fight with Percy. During which he makes skeletons appear and somehow opens a huge crack in the floor. But percy wins and nico leaves camp.

Don't you think it would've rang a bell?

Don't you think it would've reminded them too much of two summers ago, with luke?

Dont you think everyone would've been even more scared, because now they know nico is a child of hades, one of the big three, and therefore very powerful?

There must have been so many rumors that summer of nico being part of the kronos army. Betraying camp just like luke did.

Of course after the battle of manhattan many people would've changed their minds. Hes in their side now, after all. But there are probably still many campers who think nico left them to join luke, before he changed their mind and helped them win against luke and kronos. People who still hold a grudge against him for joining the "enemy".

They fished, chopped wood. They secured the last of the goods from the waves.

The little writing-desk from the surgeon's quarters was so heavy they barely got it ashore, and then it disappointed again. While they hoped to find books in it, or medicin, or stationery, all of the drawers and cabinets were empty, some were even missing.

The big chests which Remi recognized being from manufacturer Leighton & Sons were another disappointment. Tightly secured with iron and locks, they couldn't be opened and these too, were too heavy to move. Still, Remi and Lorck ran along with Moize to the far end of the waterfront to collect boulders that would prevent the chests being taken back to sea at high tide.

And it was fun to speculate with the children about their contents. Remi pointed out to them that the chests were locked like that for a reason, that they probably held new machinery or new inventions, and that sparked their imagination so greatly, they couldn't stop talking about it.

"A machine that makes toys!" Moize shouted. "Or a machine that makes parts of toys," Hannah suggested. "Yeah! You put a block of wood in it, and out comes a wooden soldier! But only his legs! On leg after another! Millions and millions of them!"

Laughing they went on, until the sun went down, until Jaromir and Lorck came back with a stone suitable to light their first campfire on.

I think milk is another thing that they don't agree on.

Aelin, Dorian and possibly even Chaol have no problems with drinking milk. Idk they seem to be like those people you know? Especially Dorian and Aelin because while reading, nothing beats snacking on cookies and a cold glass of milk because they're silly like that.

Manon (and the rest of the witches) is the opposite. They'd visibly flinch at the sight of someone drinking milk casually and honestly, Dorian thought the witches are being dramatic and he turned to Manon because she is different (they like to mess with him this is why he confirms things with Manon). However, she was reacting exactly the same way because ew this thing is disgusting and just the thought of it was enough to make her feel nauseous (but Dorian didn't think her being dramatic she's just being herself).

i don’t think neve can dance for shit. i also think this doesn’t stop magpie from dragging her onto the dance floor at the cobbled swan after a few glasses of the (extremely expensive) wine lucanis ordered for them. i think she would Try to teach her a few basic steps but it would very quickly devolve into twirling her around until neither of them can stop laughing and stumbling into each other while lucanis watches with his big stupid baby cow eyes full of the sweetest and most tender affection one man has ever held in his dumb little body.

Probably. He’s said a million times that he wants me and my sisters dependent on him for like..ever. Until he dies I guess is his goal. Not in a cute aww-please-don’t-leave-me way, a creepy controlling way. Sometimes I think he does things without meaning to but him invading my privacy and being too nosy has been a problem since I was like 14. And even before that but I give him a pass for that stuff. when the intrigue starts intriguing (fic snippet under the cut because what do you know. sharing my writing still gives me the Horrors)

(so i have a lot of thoughts about Cameron as a betrayer even though he is one in this fic, because he's seriously just looking for a reason, ANY reason, to not betray anyone at all. he's desperately trying to find the tiniest of ways to excuse himself into doing the right thing, and Neil WILL NOT GIVE IT TO HIM. not even out of malice, he just wears his heart sewn to his sleeve like it's fucking applique. this plays into a bunch of dynamics re: fic that essentially end up as "jesus CHRIST, this guy isn't suited for politics", but i think it's summed up well here - Cameron asking Neil for a reason to make him stay, to stop him from reporting back to Neil's father, and being met with mockery, because in Neil's view, what's the point of befriending a traitor? they remain a traitor anyway. and then from Cameron's view this is the final straw on the back of the camel.)
