China's lack of animal protection laws is a huge problem that needs to be addressed.Surely the meme with the cat Fresh is well known to many. But what is behind this meme is not so common. Cat houses supplied by the application Hello Street cat It has become a trap for many cats. Flayers exterminate cats from there. The said Mr. Fresh has been hunted for a reward. Cat houses need to be secured at a minimum. Install special doors just for cats. Attackers should not enjoy the suffering of animals. If you know little about these cases, I will tell you in more detail. Please let's join forces and try to save innocent lives

Oh, my goodness! This came up on my Facebook memories for two years ago today, and boy do I remember that day! Talk about an adrenaline rush!
Well, I had quite the animal adventure this morning. I was heading to the barn to do chores as I do every morning, when I saw an animal crossing the road in front of me on Valley Drive not too far before my turn. I slowed and took note that it was a skunk, not an unusual thing; I see them quite often that early in the morning. But then he suddenly turned back, then swerved again, then again. Something was obviously wrong with him. I slowed even more and as I got close I realized the poor thing had a cup stuck on his head!!! Well, I couldn't just leave it like that! So I parked far enough away to keep him in my headlights, then got out and approached, knowing he couldn't see me or smell me and maybe not even hear me (but I still talked to him, because that's what I do). I moved fast, running in to grab the cup (a McDonald's one for anyone interested) and pulled. It was stuck on so tight I lifted the poor guy off the ground, his front feet flailing. Finally, it popped off. I moved back quickly in case he turned to spray, but he just paused for a brief startled moment, then took off for the ditch.

One day, Skarloey the gallant old engine was huffing and puffing until he saw an injured dove that fell from a tree. It was limping and twitching drastically.
"Oh nooo!" cried Skarloey. "That poor dove. I must save her."
Skarloey scooped up the little bird into his gloves. He didn't have to worry about catching disease; he was a machine.
First, he made a mudpie that attracted yummy earthworms. Skarloey handfed the dove her earthworms. She was well-fed and less skinny now.
Then, he transported the dove to a lake by the woods. Skarloey washed the dove's feathers with the lake's water, until it wasn't dirty anymore.
"They call me a 'lake by the woods', dove," chuffed Skarloey. "That's what my name means in Welsh."
Finally, he opened his emergency kit and bandaged the dove's wing. "You are all better now," Skarloey told the dove.
Skarloey waited a while for his new friend to heal. He carefully removed the bandage. But something wasn't right - the bird was not moving.
"What is wrong, my little dove?" Skarloey asked. "Why won't you fly?"
She did not open an eye. Skarloey realized. His bird died.
Skarloey shed tears from his eyes. "What have I done?" he cried. "I - I killed her!"
Rheneas wanted to say hi to Skarloey, but he saw that his brother was very upset. "Oh dear," peeped Rheneas. "That doesn't look good."
Rheneas rubbed Skarloey's back. "She was an animal Skarloey," Rheneas said. "Animals die. It's part of life."
"I-I know . . ."
"She's a bird Skarloey. The Holy Spirit is a bird. She will fly Skarloey. She's in Heaven."
That made Skarloey feel a little better.
Rheneas and Skarloey dug the dove into the earth. They put beautiful flowers on her resting-place. Rheneas ensured Skarloey that it wasn't his fault, that he was just trying to help.
Skarloey learnt to cherish the memories of his bird. He knew she was in Heaven now, and that was where she was most happy.

I just think that 'animals are living intelligent creatures that have feelings and deserve to be respected' and 'when done properly farming is beneficial to both people and animals and there's nothing wrong with raising and killing animals for food, clothing, and other products' are concepts that very much can and should coexist

A Pangolin reacts happily to a human grooming it in places it could not reach or take care of it by itself. There are many benefits to humans having opposable thumbs.

You need to look for information about animals from multiple sources, make sure to put your own biases aside, ask questions, and check the sources you find to make sure that they make sense.
My first experience with PETA was reading one of their pamphlets as a kid (sometime between the ages of 7 and 10). And while some of the things that they said in the pamphlet made sense, other things didn’t. For example, the pamphlet talked about cruelty in puppy mills, which I already knew about. But it also talked about wool farms, and my mom had already told me about how they get the wool and the potential consequences of not shearing a sheep, and what the pamphlet described was not at all how any of it works! So I knew that everything should be, at the very least, taken with a grain of salt. Of course, this was when I was very little and I didn’t know the true depth of crap that PETA does, but it was a good exercise in critical thinking skills for Little Me.
Part of respecting animals is understanding that they are different from us and from each other. You should know better than to try to care for a hamster the same way you care for a fish (and if you don’t know, now you know.) So it’s important to apply the rules for one animal to that animal, and if you don’t know what the rules are, look it up online or in a book (or both!) Don’t try to guess the rules for how an animal works based on a completely different animal, especially if you’re in charge of caring for animals, or if you’re talking to someone who is. Your dog is not an elephant. Nor is your dog a wolf. Yes, dogs are descended from wolves, and have some things in common with wolves, but dogs and wolves are different, often very different. Rats are not just big mice. Opposums are not just big rats. (Actually, an opposum is a marsupial, whereas rats and mice are rodents.) Basically, different animals are different.
You are not a monkey. Yes, we are related to monkeys, and there are many similarities between humans and monkeys, but there are also differences, often important ones. What you want and what a monkey wants may sometimes be the same, but it’s often very different. If a monkey tried to do some of the things we do, they would get hurt. If we tried to do some of the things monkeys can do, we would get hurt. That’s because humans are built differently from monkeys. And while some of the things humans do to monkeys truly are cruel, it’s important to know that some monkeys need to be in zoos. As long as the zoo is a good zoo, the monkeys there should be fine. Bad zoos should be shut down, and the animals should be rescued from there, and perhaps placed in a good zoo. Do your research on which zoos are good and which are bad. But remember to check your sources and think critically if you see something that doesn’t make sense.
Finally, the rules for how fictional animals work and how real animals work are often different. Now, this may seem obvious to some people, but even so, there is a lot to consider. Your favorite animal characters may have some things in common with their real-life counterparts, but there are bound to be important differences. For example, I like Sonic the Hedgehog. I know that Sonic is bigger than a real hedgehog, and a real hedgehog can’t deal with the kind of situations Sonic tends to find himself in. Also, real hedgehogs can’t eat chili dogs, are not blue, and don’t run at the speed of sound. But they do ball themselves up to protect themselves and their quills are a good self-defense system. So there is that. Actually, learning the similarities and differences between animal characters and their real-life counterparts can enhance your experience and enjoyment of both, in addition to the (less fun but more important) benefit to your knowledge of how animals actually work in the real world and why you shouldn’t try to apply the rules of fiction to reality. The rules can be very different.
Learn about animals. Guessing how animals work is not good enough. Learn how they work. Animals are very cool, and learning about animals can help you help them. Animals of many species are struggling right now, and it’s important to know what we should be doing to help them. Part of that is learning not only about similarities between humans and animals, but the differences, too. Another part of that is learning the differences between different types of animals. And yet another part is critical thinking about sources related to animals, and about our own understanding of animals. There’s a lot to learn, but if you don’t know something, don’t try to fill in the blanks with guesses. If your guesses are incorrect, the effects can be devastating.
honestly people are way more ignorant about the welfare of the animals than they think they are
animal rights activists are even worse regarding that, because instead of actually learning about what an animal needs and how it behaves they rely solely on how they *think* animals feel and need
and it's the reason why the public views feeding and interacting with wild animals as "being good and kindhearted :) " and keeping animals in zoos as "poor animals suffering in cramped cages >:( "
and it kills animals

I do sort of wish western anime fans would analyze anime and manga from a framework of japanese historical and cultural context. Specifically a lot of works from the 90s being influenced by the general aimlessness and ennui that a lot of people were experiencing due to the burst in the bubble economy and the national trauma caused by the sarin terrorist attack. I think in interacting with media that’s not local to our sociocultural/sociopolitical sphere it’s easy to forget that it’s influenced and shaped by the same kinds of factors that influence media within our own cultural dome and there ends up being this baseline misalignment of perception between the causative elements of a narrative and viewer interpretation of those elements. It’s a form of death of the author that i think, in some measure, hinders our ability to fully understand/come to terms with creator intent and the full scope of a work’s merits
