CREATURES IN GENERAL OR SEA CREATURES. BECAUSE MY FRIEND MONTY N I WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT TRIGUN FURSONAS THE OTHER DAY. but i am the sea creature guy at heart so im gonns give u those i hope that is ok 😌 there are many benefits to being a marine biologist.

Vash: he is... so very shark coded to me. everyone looks at him and sees a dangerous killing machine. frequently covered in scars. do u see the connection here. he is specifically a thresher shark to me because of the whole sharpshooter thing and also the sad sad puppydog eyes 💙

Wolfwood: i am torn between two different types of eels for him. giant morays are more aesthetically pleasing but personally i have to go with a wolf eel both for the name and because ive worked with these guys before and theyre sooooo cool so im biased

Meryl: not technically a sea creature because she is just so bird coded to me. White-Tailed Tropicbird

Milly: is it cheating to have two cephalopods on this list. because i think i really want to say giant pacific octopus for milly. either that or a whale shark 💙 yes those are two completely different animals no i will not be taking criticism at this time

☕️ What's your go-to drink while writing?

hmmm ... i think my beverage consumption habits while i'm writing are usually a) nothing bc i need both hands to type and also when im writing i need to type to think, or b) something w sugar and/or caffeine if i'm in a break in a session or right before starting and trying to jumpstart my brain. in that case usually some kind of juice or sweet tea! oh i guess next most common is c) my tea i made that has gone completely cold but is still sweet and more importantly is right there

📒 Where do your jot down your ideas?

ahaha i think my answer to this is kind of cursed actually. i used to have this beautiful system where i had a separate evernote note for every project, and put down ideas in the relevant note until i had enough to start writing (or outlining or whatever) but then at some point that became too many clicks / while in a project i would continue to have a million little disconnected thoughts, so now it all goes into my personal discord server in a #writing-notes channel with a separate thread per project (project-neutral notes go in the main channel). this system is terrible because unlike evernote, discord does not have an undo button if you draft an entire scene in the message composition box and then hit delete by accident. i would not recommend this system to basically anyone however i cannot seem to get back out of it

It's a brisk morning and in your snow lined fox den it's business as usual. There's no hibernation, only you and your silly little partner as you spend everyday together. He's a bit off, a bit goofy, but so are you for letting him live with you ever since that day he limped into your den! You nursed him back to health as best you could and he hasn't left you ever since, not that you'd ever want him to. Dazai's also lazy, selfish, and unintentionally hilarious during the most inappropriate times so you need to be careful when trying to understand his more 'dramatic' moments and-

Oh, yeah. food! Sooo hungry. You pad your way towards the soft spot you both share where he sleeps soundly, curled up in his kimono, his nine tails tightly wrapped around him. You think his bandages must keep him extra warm too, what a package deal. Oh how pretty he looks like that... You kneel and nudge him awake with a soft whisper.

"Hi... it's time to eat."

His pointy ears perk up and he pops one eye open as he scans you first thing.

"You brought food already? Woooowww... How gracious of you, cutie~"

You snicker quietly to yourself, and shake your head.

"No, we're going together. You need to start earning your meals."

"Pfft. I'd never make you earn your meals, you know."

You make another sound of sheer entertainment at his cute whining, and nudge him again, this time carding your fingers through his messy brown hair, and caressing those soft ears that twitch with every word you say. He could stay like this forever, he thinks. With your approval, hopefully he will.

"Is that so? I dunno... I'd say every time I head out into town to find your specialty canned crab it's quite a quest for me. Or when I trick those humans into giving me more tofu than usual for our stews I really do wonder if you ever stop to think if that's a harder than usual task for me-"

Your words are cut off by a swift and fluffy tail that clamps over your mouth. You stay quiet, a wide smile playing on your lips as you watch Dazai become animated in a second.

"...Okay, okay! Fine. I'll go... And of course, you'll do the cooking."

"I always do the cooking, Osamu."

"Yes, and thank god for that, because I love doing the eating~"

You quirk an eyebrow as you fold your arms across your chest and hum. He's so cute when he's being high maintenance. Despite you both being kitsune, he had you wondering if you were slowly becoming his human caretaker... Not that you would ever mind, that is.

"Mm, that you do..."

Dazai then stretches himself, his body becoming long as he holds the pose with his back arched, his ears flipping back as his tails fluff up, signaling he's fully awake now. He turns to you, those cunning narrowed eyes now slightly half lidded and tender. His voice is low and hoarse.

"But you know what? I also love other things..."

You tilt your head a bit as he stands to his full height, walking towards you and scanning you head to toe with that never ending gaze that oozes with affection. He knows what's going on in that little head of yours, and you almost feel bashful from the way he grants you every bit of his senses. When he reaches you, he places a hand on the top of your head inbetween your soft ears, petting you with feather light taps. He towers over you, his figure now more imposing except without the threatening aura. There could never be threat when it's just you and Dazai, because behind his goofy and easygoing exterior, there is an undying commitment to you that goes beyond life and death. And thankfully, you both will live for a long, long time despite his pesky jokes about the opposite.

He leans forward and then down enough to whisper against the shell of your ear as if he were telling you a secret.

"I love... Curry... Rice... Crab... and-"

You interrupt by looking up at him, eyes twinkling with anticipation. You weren't desperate for his tender words, for he never withheld them from you. He couldn't hide how enamored he was with you even if he tried! There was just something about hearing him say it that made you feel like it was the first time every single time. He curls one of his tails around yours, gently braiding them together as they form a furry stem, locked in place like two hands intertwined. He grins, holding your chin as you two communicate in your own little language with your eyes.

Dazai thinks about how lucky he is to be yours, through thick and thin and the coldest of winter. From the way your lashes flutter every time you blink to how your nose crinkles in the cutest ways when you laugh, he doesn't know why you entertain his mischief. Maybe he's cursed you... Maybe it's a good curse if it means you'll continue to look at him the way you aways do. Either way, you'll both see the Spring come, together.

He brings his hand down to the tip of your nose, so elegant and beautiful, and taps it while whispering.

"You. I love you. So let's go to town, yes? I'm ready to work for my meal or whatever."

You bite your lip at his call back to your previous words, trying to stop the smile from literally getting any wider as you drop the bossy act and melt for him instead. And here you thought his charm was only reserved to fool humans! You nod and when you speak, it's barely above a whisper.

"I love you too."

He leans in so close that his nose touches yours, teasing your every sense.

"I know that, cutie. Duh."

He speaks with a low purr as if stating the obvious, causing you to roll your eyes at his adorable audacity. Only Dazai could get away with this, and only you could make him feel complete this way, no matter what form he takes.

You smiled, catching up with her quickly and finally introducing your boyfriend to her.

When you were finally seated, your favorite table of course, and immediately started looking through the menu. Almost two days ago you and Mat had made it to your home country, Singapore. After a year of dating, you were ready for him to meet your family back home and show him where you spend most of your childhood. Mat was very excited for you to show him everything and was a very good sport when eating all of the cultural foods he was not used to. He loved exploring and expanding his food palate.

"You've already had the chili crab, but this place does it better than anywhere else, so you can have that again if you want." You translated the menu for him, but he wanted something with rice or noodles. "Then I'd do the char kway teow. It's pretty traditional stir fry based dish. I think you'd like it."

"Ok, I might take that then." He looked around more, still deciding on what he's in the mood for.

A server, also someone you knew, then came over to take your orders. You gave her yours, then looked at Mat, unsure if he had made his final decision. "You ready?"

"What?" He grinned.

"How did you know how to say that?" You were still shocked, but a smile crept over your lips. You had taught him a few words here and there, but not how to say whole sentences.

"Oh, I didn't tell you?," he asked innocently. "I've been taking duolingo lessons since we've planned this trip." That was almost three months ago. Tears coated your eyes when you realized what that meant.

"Mat." He smiled, taking your hand in his.

"I just thought I could impress your family a bit. And you, by the looks of it." You broke out in a small, emotional laugh.

"I want to squeeze the crap out of you right now. And kiss." He laughed and kissed the palm of your hand.

"We can do that later. How about you let me have my last meal first?"

honestly? my go to is always Ghost or my oc Raven, sometimes I like to doodle lil critters or flowers (crabs and fishies...my beloved...)

What made you start drawing in the first place?

I've been drawing since 5? I think xD always had been a doodler and only really draw more around 2020 (you know, when covid started and being stuck at home), I embraced digital art around 2022, I doodled because I....was bored! yep KASJHDKA doodling is nice, it's destressing in a way, and I like spotting them when Im studying (my notes all have at least some sort of doodle there one way or another) I think that reason stayed the same with more reasons(like making someone's day, for my own enjoyment, for vent etc)

What's your favorite piece you've ever drawn?

This! is a very hard question for my indecisive ass, and its funny because I was thinking of making a tier list of my own art for fun xD

I'll pick this one...maybe it's the memory surrounding this or maybe it was the significance of the date, I drew this on January 1st this year, my first piece for 2024! 8. do they have a nickname? who gave it to them? if it's not derived from their real name, what's the story behind it?

Saint Light of the Up River Tawasakana, yeah, ‘Saint’ is a nickname…

But Alligator and Shank call them Soap, thanks to Shank having difficulty speaking, and Alligator picked up on this— though she probably doesn’t use it when she’s addressing Saint directly, she definitely calls them Soap when talking about them with others, Saint doesn’t care for the nickname, but Alligator thinks it’s funny, and Soap is one of 3 words Shank can formally say. (Note, Shank says ‘Soap’ in Salsegal, so it doesn’t sound like Soap, but Alligator learned that’s the word she was saying, so she says the word Soap.)

Saint, by the group, is usually referred to as “3” by Callie, July, Marie — who were child soldiers and have no issues addressing 3 AS a solider.

Alligator, who didn’t grow up in Inkopolis or any Eastern-Inkling (ie the common Inkling, the Inklings you see In Game) society actually finds it weird that Saint now takes part in agent work despite their age. So she calls them “Kid, Little Guy,” and a few variations of that.

Alligator grew up far far east, in one of the waterwasted farming zones, so the culture there is very very different.

11. what do they have in common with you? how are they different? would you get along with them?

I dunno if we have anything in common…? Quiet little reserved picky-eater kid who really likes to play video games; yeah; not sure if there’s much there, they’re like a little kid to me. I’m not sure if they’d like me but I think I would adore them because I really love kids.

I think if I were to draw a dragon on a piece of copy paper they would think it’s the coolest thing in the world though.

18. their opinion on lying, stealing, and killing?

They don’t talk much, it’s hard to lie when you hardly speak. (They speak Salsegal and Octarian, so learning Inklish has been hard.) But they’re practically a little kid, so they lie as much as a little kid does, they’re still learning what it is they can get away with under protection of the NSS.

They have 0 logic behind stealing, in thjer head they think, ‘I don’t have money for this; and I want it, so I’ll take it.’ And NO other logic falls behind it, they steal a lot, if they don’t get away with it it’s fine because one of the adults will apologize and pay for it. Before they were Agent 3, they would steal stuff from scrapyards and other machines to make money, not for selling the parts; just the time it takes to steal said parts for clans surrounding the area. It works because they’re small, small little Inklings are quick. They were raised by Salmonids, and I think I mentioned it somewhere before, but Salmonid households are NOT conventional family models, but rather a collect or a bunch of random Salmonids who ARE usually related, there’s not very often a Mom and Dad, just a house full of brothers and sisters and half siblings and cousins, so the house usually runs on ‘go make money for the house fund, and be home for dinner.’ Saint was never intended to go make money, they’re just sent outside to play, and unfortunately a gang of Crab and Salmonid Folk have recruited them to steal.

They’re a little feisty at times but that’s because they’re scared, I don’t think they’re capable of murder, but they do get into fights, if they wind up killing an enemy they’ve already fled the scene before they would even notice.

*They definitely couldn't have avoided sneezing, I mean they were sitting across from each other for a long time and sneezing in front of each other was inevitable, I plan to write two parts, one with Dazai and one with Fedor, this is the first part, in this part I'll describe Fedor's sneezing.

Fedor ignored his question and continued reading the book, but his nose started to twitch

He sat with his mouth open and couldn't sneeze, but the itching got worse but didn't turn into sneezing.

Fedor even had to stop reading and started staring at one point with a blank stare, Dazai noticed and started looking at him.

- what's going on with you? Asked Dazai

- Nothing... Ahh ... go...hehe...hehe...htz ..AHHH.

That was a false sneeze.

Important: Sorry, English is not my native language, I’m writing through a translator, this is my first FF, I hope it’s not that bad (I also wanted to mention that I’m from a Russian-speaking country (To be precise, I’m from Ukraine, many here speak Russian) and knowing this and the fact that Fedor is most likely Russian, I I wrote what his sneezing might sound like in Russian, I hope I was able to convey this, if you want to hear how sneezing basically sounds in Russian, then type into the translator which has a pronunciation function, <Апчхи> or <Апчи> this is how sneezing sounds and is written in Russian, This is what I tried to write in English letters

As for patterns, the first thing I notice is that I have a tendency to start off with something that will be important to the premise of the fic (1, 2, 3, 6), or imagery that helps immediately introduce the reader to the setting (1, 4, 5, 9). If I'm not doing that, I'm usually providing a hook that will develop into the rest of the fic's events or ideas (5, 7, 8, 10). The other thing I notice is that I wanted to edit (and did, a little bit—don't tell anyone hehe) almost every line for 4-10. Given that these were the last four fics from my month-long Song(fic) Challenge from last year, which I did not edit at the time and have not yet gone back to fix up, this isn't a surprise—but it is lighting a fire under my ass to edit those sometime soon lol.

so i like symmetry, comes with my virgo moon ass, so i try to have pairs on both sides of my arms. one is a lonely single, because tattoos can get expensive

inside forearms below inner elbow facing out, a serene medusa and a dancing fanned out flower, with the green match

right below my inner elbows, facing in, a dream catcher that's also a wise owl (since i found out my birthdate is called 'day of the dreamcatcher') and a garlic flower for my love of garlic in food lolol

outside of forearms, verve and a very badly photographed liminal (although i did intentionally make liminal hard to read hehe)

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

oooough hmm, kind of a tough one for me since i feel like there's a couple. but i'll go with this arthur/cobb drabble i wrote for wicked inception week 4. i hadn't known prior to this that i could write smut without writing it specifically to like ... be hot in some way. but in the end this was so much more like, emotions / character stuff happening and the sex was just a way to get to that information. that was cool. and secondarily, the process of writing this was one draft of like, technically a fic but genuinely incoherent, and a second draft of, oh, okay, this is different but its way more clear. which is also just like, a really nice reassurance that all the craft book reading and trudging through rough drafts of other projects really has strengthened my ability (for short fics at least) to get to the understanding of what i'm really trying to do in a fic. (it's here on the gdoc w/ everyone else's submissions if ur curious! warnings: semi-explicit sexual content, unequal power dynamics)

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

hmm aha, well. this year i wrote a LOT of not-quite-there rough draft material for a bunch of different projects which mm, if i comb through it all i will explode out of poorly timed insecurity. so, maybe a bit of a cop-out but here's a bit i wrote yesterday night that made me go: ohh okay, this is going to be fujioka's relationship with violence in this fic. so, favorite recent thing, i suppose:

Fujioka reaches over to take the last section of Haiji’s tangerine. Clean hands, trimmed nails. “We got one,” he says, chewing. “One— what?” There’s a bandage on Fujioka’s cheek, bloody at the edge. Haiji looks at it, and something chokes its way up his throat.  “One of their guys, of course.” Fujioka’s face shifts into a grin, boyishly pleased with himself. A stitch breaks under the bandage and the gauze bloodies. “He tried to make a run for it, and you know we couldn’t have that.”  Kakeru, Haiji thinks, and he can’t say a word.

favorite line in ^ is probably "A stitch breaks under the bandage and the gauze bloodies." i just. love VERBS!!!

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

ok truly SO MANY FUCKING SURPRISES while writing this year!!! but here i'll talk about all the smut writing, hehe. like!! the fact that i sat down and went "ok i guess i'll learn to write smut" is still SO surprising to me (crab this is like. 88% your influence i must tell you!!! like i guess the spark was in me all along or whatever but if u didn't run bcsdp this would never have happened to me, or would have taken much longer, etc). which then led to like ... some really wonderful conversations with irl and fandom friends, and then led to me doing wicked inception (smut drabble fest) and developing OPINIONS on how i like my smut written which i had NEVER HAD BEFORE IN MY LIFE (which. idk maybe i will go into later haha, probably i'll end up blogging about it as i write this arthurcobb fic). SPEAKING OF! wicked then got me to unlock a crucial emotional component to this arthurcobb fic that i've been trying to write since like, 2021!!! (this is long to me) and now -- that whole fic is ... WRITABLE. like i still know next to nothing about it except the premise and that there needs to be fucked up sex in there haha, but like. I HAVE ENOUGH SKILLS TO START IT NOW. like bwaaaaa truly it was just this INCREDIBLE domino effect from like, august (???) through to now that i would never have expected in my life whatsoever!!! ah so i guess really, thank you very much, i'm really glad you did that!!!! (<- bit of an understatement)
