oooh while im on the subject of building materials i am fascinated by the fact paper goods are basically equivalent to fabric goods by the crabs, especially in terms of like.. building? since paper isnt really used for them. the cardboard houses in the lower crust, the description of the toilet paper, other such things. paper seems to be the least valuable form of trash, cardboard only useful in its relative ease of cutting and reassembling... cloth trash has been a thing since forever anyways animals can eat that shit. like its not ideal but crabs can eat a lot theyre scavengers.
my point is i find slacktide Fascinating with this in mind. once you know this context of cardboard it instantly gives the impression of oh this is a duchy on the frontier like a lot of the crabs there say. just building it up. i wonder if the sand-castle architecture is a holdover from the old economy... its beautiful, but it is also the cheapest building material around, which adds a certain vibe to magista's castle... or adds to the vibe that was already there, definitely. very much a showcase of what sumptuous luxury used to look like versus what it looks like now.
fuck thinking about slacktide architecture has got me thinking i need to track wood use

We really don’t appreciate fanfic writers enough. It’s the way that they can drop a 100k fully fledged fanfic they wrote in their free time like it’s nothing, and then still go and work a full time job.

bbbbbbased on the trade-in money items plastics and certain metals are definitely the most valuable goods, though i think the trend is towards large chunks of solid, but malleable under heat plastic and visibly hq metal

oughh got caught up thinking about the value of different materials of trash items as either trade goods or building materials again and how these things can generally be mapped (metal occupies multiple niches, as it does

Kril is some assorted little outfits. With how many outfits you can get for him in game I like to headcanon that he likes fashion a lot. The the rightmost one was from a request to put him in Ash’s outfit from the Evil Dead, the middle left in the trash bag hoodie is from @merloksdigitaltoes swap AU and the other two are just because I like bows. Feel free to put some more lil outfits you want to see Kril in in my inbox because these were fun to do and they make good warm up’s
#another crabs treasure#another crab’s treasure#kril another crabs treasure#lich draws things#phantom wyvern’s drawings#december#2024#December 2024#Also if you can’t tell what shell Swap Kril is wearing it’s the F Key seemed the most fitting

Honestly, if you ever see a manga character and think "Damn, their style is dope as fuck" 9 times out of 10 their fit comes directly out of a fashion magazine. Sailor Moon was wearing Dior. JoJo was wearing Missoni.
Not to downplay the skill of the artists adapting those styles to their characters, but that is why the drip is so clean.

Imagining a world where reincarnation is real and everybody suddenly remembers their past lives BUT it turns out all of humanity is just a single soul reincarnating over and over again irrespective of time and space so nobody can talk shit
