This was a website to help women learn about their reproductive rights in the US and to find health care.

oh yeah! : finally picked up my current touristy look-around playthrough, im a bit through flotsam vale now. i'll start putting these under the cut, since i do want to discuss enemy placement.

what i can say above the cut, though, is that the uhh... i guess you could call it style of architecture between the curdled village and the company town is remarkably similar given the different materials? i can only assume the metal tanks what with the holes blasted out of them and metal sheets/wood sheets stamped on top are the company lodgings, and they have a similar... i'm going to be evil and call it an "open plan" sort of look, where it blends with the outside environment and other structures. realistically, crabs can probably climb pretty good, and strict personal property is also not the biggest concern even in human bunkhouses, but it is in stark contrast to new carcinia's and slacktide's architecture.

based on the light cowboy theming of the area with the pistol shrimp, and the mention at least one npc has of once ranching in this area, i wonder if flotsam vale was once much more like the expired grove? like. food production and stuff. farming town to mining town. potentially being a part of the kelp forest or having a similar culture and closer ties before the slurry really set in. theyre really the only areas in the game with shortcuts between one another.. interesting to think about. its also basically the only other area in the game we see shrimps, interesting to note since prawnathan mentions he lived out there once.

we see little cardboard in flotsam vale, which makes sense with the poison swamp of it all. its allllll metal out here. some spoilery lore and enemy talk below the cut

the upper swamp of flotsam vale also has a favorite hermit enemy encounter of mine, the hermit in this island under the tissue box, which has the "cleanse" ability. quite interesting, especially with the fact one of these houses contains an old world whorl. i can only imagine they lived here, and thus, probably worked here. theres an umami pistol shrimp here too.

to me, this wasnt one of the scarier hermit encounters, the one in the grove leading to topoda takes that place, but i find the placements of the enemy hermits to feel so deliberate.

and one of my favorite minor npcs, father levee. the holy land beyond the slurry, and the spirals on the toilet paper hat. i still don't know what he was really trying to do. i think he got what he wanted, in the end. hard to know how he felt about anyone. there are a Shit Ton of umami crystals in flotsam vale...

and even a royal shellsplitter, which is a Lot to consider and take in to me. anyways

new funny hc the lobsters in another crab's treasure dont have mouths because they use previous shed skin (from their back) as armor over it. (i watched a lot of videos of lobsters eating and theyre so cute. and the lobbsters should have the little mouth arms)

i can't lie to you i loveee bad endings sometimes. what if nothing worked out. what if the characters gave into their worst instincts. what if they became worse. what if there's truly no hope left. what will they do out of desperation? who will they become as their worst selves?

Random Kril headcanon list

• On top of Kril being canonically acknowledged as weirdly good at fighting and getting shit done, Kril is legitimately just sort of oblivious to the fact he knows all this random shit that pretty much no one else does.

Like Umami, no clue that he’s one of like 4 guys who both knows what it is and how to use it. Heart kelp doesn’t heal normal people like that, Kril doesn’t know that though.

• Kril is also a decently strong mage even by ancient hermit standards. While Topoda calls it a weak current in him, I think it’s probably a lot like a muscle in that the more you use it the stronger it gets. So by the end of the game while it may be sort of unrefined compared to the ancient hermits he does have pretty good raw power to make up for it. Not the strongest by any means but plenty of potential to get there.

• I think I might have talked about this already but I also think he loves all his little outfits and will keep an eye out for new ones he finds interesting. Had no clue what fashion even was before going into the ocean but turned into a little fashionista pretty quick.

• I do also really like the headcanon the Kril is oddly small for a hermit crab of his age and species. It makes sense considering how big all the other hermit crabs are in comparison and with the fact a lot of NPCs seem to acknowledge him as an adult if a pretty young one. And also I just think that the guy who can and has kicked gods ass by the end of the game is a short stack is cute concept. The truest of short kings.

• Kril is really really touch starved. Considering the fact he lived alone for what seemed to be all of his life before his shell got stolen besides maybe a few passer bys. He doesn’t really know how to respond to being touched at all as a result. He doesn’t really like it when people randomly touch him because it still feels sort of like being shocked even though it wasn’t painful. Whenever he gives someone permission to touch him he ends up both desperately wanting to lean into it and start pulling away because it both feels really nice and is overwhelming at the same time.

• I also headcanon that Kril is both Demiromantic and Demisexual. He’s not really interested in those types of relationships and doesn’t get why other people would be but figures it’s just another weird thing about the ocean he doesn’t understand and isn’t going to.  He has to already have gotten very attached to someone before those feelings crop up
