My girlfriend was playing Another Crab's Treasure around the same time I got into In Stars and Time. And if you didn't know, in both of those games, characters use "Crab!" as a substitute swear, so we both started saying it at around the same time and I had no idea we both got it from seperate games until now and like it just reinforced to me that we're absolutely soulmates

Random Kril headcanon list

• On top of Kril being canonically acknowledged as weirdly good at fighting and getting shit done, Kril is legitimately just sort of oblivious to the fact he knows all this random shit that pretty much no one else does.

Like Umami, no clue that he’s one of like 4 guys who both knows what it is and how to use it. Heart kelp doesn’t heal normal people like that, Kril doesn’t know that though.

• Kril is also a decently strong mage even by ancient hermit standards. While Topoda calls it a weak current in him, I think it’s probably a lot like a muscle in that the more you use it the stronger it gets. So by the end of the game while it may be sort of unrefined compared to the ancient hermits he does have pretty good raw power to make up for it. Not the strongest by any means but plenty of potential to get there.

• I think I might have talked about this already but I also think he loves all his little outfits and will keep an eye out for new ones he finds interesting. Had no clue what fashion even was before going into the ocean but turned into a little fashionista pretty quick.

• I do also really like the headcanon the Kril is oddly small for a hermit crab of his age and species. It makes sense considering how big all the other hermit crabs are in comparison and with the fact a lot of NPCs seem to acknowledge him as an adult if a pretty young one. And also I just think that the guy who can and has kicked gods ass by the end of the game is a short stack is cute concept. The truest of short kings.

• Kril is really really touch starved. Considering the fact he lived alone for what seemed to be all of his life before his shell got stolen besides maybe a few passer bys. He doesn’t really know how to respond to being touched at all as a result. He doesn’t really like it when people randomly touch him because it still feels sort of like being shocked even though it wasn’t painful. Whenever he gives someone permission to touch him he ends up both desperately wanting to lean into it and start pulling away because it both feels really nice and is overwhelming at the same time.

• I also headcanon that Kril is both Demiromantic and Demisexual. He’s not really interested in those types of relationships and doesn’t get why other people would be but figures it’s just another weird thing about the ocean he doesn’t understand and isn’t going to.  He has to already have gotten very attached to someone before those feelings crop up
