Spoilers for Alan Wake/Control games and DLCs: one of the things I really like in Alan Wake 2 is the confirmation that, no, Alan can’t create something out of nothing. There were implications in-story that supported that, but it was good to have that be a big part in the sequel. The AWE control dlc easily made it seem like Alan himself had a role in the events of the game and the formation of the FBC, and, personally, seeing it through that lens cheapened a lot of the game and Jesse’s story. Instead, having his writing influence the Hiss and try to manipulate (even out of desperation) Jesse/the FBC to end Hartman and get help, fit right into plot and conflicts of Alan Wake 2, with Alan being sympathetic, but also an asshole for trying to change and control people’s lives in his writing.

so right i have a couple of classes that overlap with underage students and i'm just horrified by how little they know about tech

this guy was a) blown tf away that i know how to touch type (i was literally taught how to in high school, he has "no clue how to wrap his head around that")

b) needed my help figuring out where to find files on a computer (WE are studying information technology), and i'm talking about a very easy to find directory

c) couldn't figure out a program that helps you create structograms, so he gave up on it entirely (mainly because he didn't know how to structure his) and instead started criticising my structograms and calling the prof over just to "have him take a look at it, he knows what he's doing" while my code wasn't even done yet, which in turn confused me tf because i was trying to focus on what i'm doing and i just ended up so stuck i couldn't think at all anymore and had to leave the classroom for a bit (i'm autistic)

d) then proceeded to shop for an iphone 15 on his notebook during class because he "thinks it's annoying having to fiddle around with settings, it's easier if everything is pre-installed and works from the get go" (again, if anything his parents will be paying that)

e) got pissed when the prof finally told him to cut it out or else he'd take his notebook and his phone away for the rest of the class

f) loudly ripped into the prof's example solution out of spite and you know it
