Shoutout to all the other adults who have acne or any other condition of the skin that you are expected to outgrow or "just deal with."

Adulthood isn't this magical time where everything just disappears, and the reality is that these skin conditions are largely genetic. It isn't your fault (nor your skin's fault) that you are an adult with different skin than other people. In fact, it's neutral (and even, dare I say, good!).

#linktober #linktober 2024 #the legend of zelda #wind waker #ocarina of time #loz #loz ww #loz oot #link #josh art tag #had a lot of fun with this one despite how annoying it was to draw #oot link was at a difficult angle and i also just could not shade this for the life of me. restarted the shading like 3 times #i think im reaching that point in the cycle i typically go thru with my artstylr where ive grown tired of my shading style #to the point that i forget how to do it and it never quite looks right #so if my next post features changes to my artstyle thats why lol #but i enjoyed making this despite that cuz i like the ideas behind it!#i normally wouldve redesigned ww!link's outfit but i purposefully drew it accurately #to highlight how its more like a costume. cuz thats kinda what it was! and its modeled after the hero of times clothes #but is pretty innacurate. which i think is cool.. shows how much time has passed and how the view of the hero of time has warped #so i also purposefully made oot link wearing my redesigned outfit for him (even if you cant see much of it at this angle)#to further emphasize how ww!link's outfit is not only essentially a costume but is also quite innacurate #i like having ww!link ditch the costume for something else to show how he stops being some kid in oot!link's shadow #and grows into a true hero of his own #hence my ww!link redesign where i put him back in the lobster shirt. but i do keep some green and something similar to the hat #to have him fit in with the other links while still being unique #look i have a lot of feelings about ww!link and oot!link #i wish zelda would do more stuff like this... i think having oot relate to wind waker makes the story more interesting #and makes ww!link more interesting! cuz he cant be the hero of time they want. but he does become the real hero they need #the oot ww tp trio is so good... and they all work great as standalone games but their connections do really add something

Thanks to the power of the Chaos Emeralds, Super Silver is able to surround himself with rocks and debris to create a giant version of himself and essentially have a massive kaiju fight with the Big Bad™.

#Think of it like how in Sonic Movie 2 Eggman is able to create the Death Egg after he obtained the Master Emerald #(Which is surprisingly tiny in the movie but that's off-topic)#sonic #sliver the hedgehog #key's post #I was thinking about Super forms a lot today #(Throwing the whole 'Only male hedgies can go Super!' thing in the trash)#and playing around with the idea that #outside of a basic stats increase (invincibility enhanced speed enhanced strength ect.)#the Super forms help 'ultimatify' a Mobian's unique skill set #For example Super Tails' flickies would be rock & metal constructs that the emeralds made for Tails to remotely control #because Tails is a mechanic so giving him a few controllable 'robots' will help him greatly #The extra chaos energy interacts uniquely with Shadow's DNA causing a few Black Doom features to appear on Super Shadow #(Also playing around with the possibility of the Black Doom/Comet species in general having some linkage with chaos energy)#Knuckles being apart of the echidna tribe that guarded the Master Emerald has a unique Super form exclusive to him #Just little things like that to help spice up the various Supers :-)#(Btw Sonic just has a generic Super form #Nothing special he is just a baseline for the others)

if there was 1 item of their outfits that they had to keep on them while bared otherwise naked the recognisable option for Thor would be Mjolnir and for Loki it would be his helmet.

#we can discuss this #i'm open to hear any suggestions otherwise #when i was thinking of this i was trying to figure out what part of Thor's typical outfit is the most important to him #but then it turned into what single outfit item on a naked Thor would still identify him as such #and it HAS to be the hammer #if Thor had nothing else on but was holding the hammer it would be clear #Thor's helmet is not the recognised feature #which is fair because it's his weapon #but then you switch over to Loki and the clothes are pretty vital #but the daggers wouldn't help because they're not THAT unique #so it's got to be the helmet because apart from the lovely complex outfit coordination he gets with his armour #the helmet he doesn't even wear most of the time would pick him out #the bros could both be absolutely naked and these are the determinate final factors to their physical characterisations #that is the conclusion i came to #this says a lot about them #very symbolic etc.

Finally watching Overlord with AD. Already noticed an interesting choice of wording, with the narrator using "Nazis" and "Nazi soldiers" instead of "German soldiers." You could argue it's less technically accurate, but serves a purpose, and it's a reasonable decision in the context of the story. Audio description is cool.

Edit: They use a combination of "Nazis," "Nazi soldiers," "Germans," and "German soldiers." The choice is still significant.

#so far boyce (the only prominent black character)#is the only character whose race has been explicitly mentioned #which is usually a problem #(i've seen some ad that's really bad about treating whiteness as an unremarkable default and only signally out poc)#but on the other hand there have been two minor black characters #one who was described by the most prominent unique trait “bald”#and one who was immediately given an name and was never time to physically describe #the other white male characters are given quick descriptors #“scrawny” “fresh-faced” “dark-haired” and “blond”#(the last of which does imply race)#the “scrawny” (tbh i'd've gone with gangly) soldier is quickly named rosenfeld and he calls attention to the implications of that name #it's true that there are people who will consciously or unconsciously equate “fresh-faced” and its implications of innocence with whiteness #but i don't know if that's a fault or in the control of the ad itself #boyce is of average height and build with no striking physical features like scars or a distinctive haircut #“dark haired” would have been the only non-racial description available but also applies to another character #and it's impossible to deny despite the movie's general stance of colorblindness #that it is significant that the hero of this ww2 movie is a black soldier and the plot doesn't center on his race #so in whole it's interesting #the choice would in a vacuum be problematic #but in context is i think probably the best choice for smoothly providing the necessary information #which is the purpose of media accessibily tools like ad #like i said #ad is really interesting

Fun fact: Dream and Nightmare in my Ec-4o.verse setting are a package deal! They're both robots (Ectos) but their designs directly compliment eachother. Dream is (practically) an infinite power source for magical/electrical energy. Nightmare is a walking EMP that short-circuits all tech around him.

Their settings can be changed to be more or less intense, but Nightmare must be within a 2 mile radius of Dream or else he'll shut down, and Dream will start to overheat if he's too far from Night for too long.

There's a bit of animosity between them (largely due to Pre-war factors) but by the time they enter the story they're back on speaking terms.

#at one point they looked the same minus their chosen color palettes (unique to their models) but when the war started the Gov. overhauled #Nightmare's casing and added a few new features.#Dream was their constant power source abd back-uo generator while Nightmare made sure no one got in or out with unwanted tech.#both brothers can sense emotions (but like. in a Robot Biological way that a lot of Ectos can)#so their gimmick now is that they can perfectly sense a device's battery life. which helps them determine which of them needs to be nearby #fir example: Cross really enjoys Nightmare's company so he tends to stick close to him but Cross can get self-destructive about letting #Night drain his battery (because he's 'had worse') and Dream usually has to pry Cross away from his twin to hang out and/or go charge solo #meanwhile Ink loves hanging around Dream because he “feels so alive!” and he often forgets that Dream is a walking battery #ec-4o.verse #ec-4o!dream #ec-4o!nightmare #I think technically they're both malfunctioning and it's a defect #but it can't be “fixed” withiut destroying their memory drives and they refuse to do that (they'd need a full Core/Soul remodel)

#inspector morley late of scotland yard investigates #inspector morley late of scotland yard #(there's some confusion about the correct title of this series; it appears onscreen with 'investigates' but many online sources omit the #final word and it wouldn't be unique in having a title screen that differed slightly from the official name of the show; either way it's a #hell of an unwieldy name for your programme.....)#classic tv #1952 #john gilling #victor m. gover #tod slaughter #patrick barr #tucker mcguire #leonard sharp #another rediscovered gem made available by the good folks at kaleidoscope #oof. ok. so the story of Inspector Morley is complicated and still semi mysterious (the show is 70 years old after all‚ there's precious #little surviving documentation). as far as it goes‚ this was a UK production intended for sale to the BBC (there existing no independent tv #company in 1952). the beeb‚ for whatever reason‚ passed on the series. 13 episodes had been made and of these about seven were cobbled #together into feature films to recoup some of the costs; those survived and saw occasional outings on rainy afternoon tv schedules here #it was thought that the remainder were junked‚ but research (not my own i hasten to add) has revealed that the whole series was in fact sol #to the US where it was shown on WGN (a Chicago based station i believe). when kaleidoscope recovered this particular episode some 6 or 7 #years ago‚ it was thought to be the sole surviving episode‚ at least in its original format (ie. not edited into a feature). actually it #sounds like they might all exist and a few are even on youtube (including this one). this is very early detective tv and it shows its age #not just in its ropey visuals (it's all quite soft and fuzzy) but in its very old fashioned shape and design‚ which is closer to mid #century film than what television would shortly become. that sensation is only furthered by the presence of the immortal Tod Slaughter‚ a #bastion of early british cinema and one of the first horror icons the uk ever produced. unusually‚ it seems like he starred in most (if not #all) of the episodes of the series; unusual bc he plays the villain‚ opposite Barr's staunch ex copper Morley. having a recurring villain #must certainly have helped when editing the shows into films for cinema release but it was quite a strange choice for tv #tho perhaps a set cast reduced costs (this was clearly a budget production‚ tho it does feature some impressive early location shooting)#Slaughter is great fun‚ in full scenery chewing mode as the wicked and unrepentant mastermind behind all sorts of crimes #Barr even has personal beef with him‚ though it would require seeing the other eps to fully understand it i suspect

Personally choosing to hc that the random-ass springlock suit in Sister Location that somehow sucks even more ass than Fredbear and SpringBonnie was bc William tried to build basically SpringBonnie 2.0 in his own way (which includes making a completely different, more complex, and more dangerous springlock system just to be different from henry) bc he didnt wanna give up the theatrics of his silly yellow rabbit. It then proceeded to bite him in the ass and also in the Everywhere Else

replaying kh1 is really interesting just from the sora riku kairi dynamics to sora donald and goofy becoming friends to the fact there’s no fucking map and moogle is only in traverse town but reminds me that kh always fills you with such nostalgia like i really want to rewatch disney movies now
