WK Hazbin Hotel AU: Hazbin Hotel but with the Wild Kratts characters.

Wolfwalker AU: After getting a bite from a wolf cub, Jimmy starts seeing things. He barely sleeps ever since.

Mystichal brothers AU: Part 1: The bros discover the flewin DNA in their family thanks to Chris, but he runs away for five year, why? Part 2: Martin is attended in a strange hospital, after that, he senses dark enery coming from himself, but he can’t control it.

Experiment 351 AU: Chris curses the day when his old childhood friend murdered his brother to turn him into a doll... He’s a crazy pshycopath... wait, is that 350?

Spy Japan AU: Working for an independent force from the former Kanaichi agency, the bros dedicate their lives to protect the town of Korosaki from the other forces.

Criminal AU: Chris and Martin enter the criminal career to get enough money to afford the so-called cure for Martin’s unique dissease, but they have to deal with the police and stuff, especially a new symptom Martin will develop soon.

Dr J. Kratt AU: Fascinated by all the scientific wonders of animals and blinded by the wish of knowdlege, he quits the WK crew and becomes a villain. Martin still can’t belive that new villain is his little brother.

Matrix error AU: Omar dissapeared five weeks ago. Desperated and with no other choice, Koki, his older sister, calls an old “friend”, Jimmy, the only one who can help her with this case.

Snake's Garden AU: Martin reunites with his college band. But now he has a new challenge from their old rivals and the return of a speciall someone, someone he thought he would never meet again.

Next Gen AU: Agatha makes a deal with his own father, earn some approval from him in exchange of finishing the new wild kratts crew. But she never thought of what could happen to her next.

Witchcraft AU: The bros are abandoned by her mother in a strange ride which takes them to the Fenix Witchcraft academy. Jus in time for a big event, where they team up with Aviva, Jimmy and Koki, the youngest of her class and witch rank.

Wild Animals AU: Martin runs a band with Chris and his friends, Jimmy and Koki. One day, a girl named Aviva shows up asking for a place to stay. She ends up making new music with them, changing the vibe almost completely, and Martin does not like this.

Creepy AU: The Kratt siblings had the perfect life, until Hanna was murdered... Martin suffered from depression and guilt, Chris’s schizophrenia was getting worse, everything was wrong!... Martin couldn’t hang on to this anymore... and he made a horrible mistake.

Have either of you heard about the recent dealings with HBOMax? And if so what are your thoughts about it?

Thank you so much for this question. Anything animation is my favorite topic so this may become a rant. but here we go.

I think everyone in the industry has heard of what's happened. It's devastating and disrespectful. Warner Bros. has a special place in animation history with legacy characters and a collection of classics. They helped move the medium forward and at one point celebrated their place in film by creating an entire network dedicated to new shows, looney tunes, Hanna Barbera and more. They also helped introduce a generation to anime.

Unfortunately, as Warner changed leadership from one company to another, the focus became more on how to make the most income and for whatever reason money people don't see animation as something that can earn. History proves this idea wrong, especially with most animated films typically performing well in theaters, but in the industry animation is always seen as something only for kids. Something that doesn't need to be noticed. Something that people "graduate" from watching. This is old thinking and the new people in charge of Warner have shown almost aggressively that they can only think this way and want to move things way back (saying women don't like genre or written stories? @#$% You!!).

They think these characters can be erased and that no one will care because as they see it the only people saying anything are kids and will grow out of it. It's a cruel and disrespectful way to run a company. It's also, unfortunately, the way most places see this medium. To want to tell an adult leaning story in animation will still garner comments from execs of "Well you don't want to scare away kids" or "Kids don't want heavy stories, don't say anything about grief" "This is too dark" "just make it a comedy" and more. After all that they want live action celebrities attached because "How else will we get adults to watch this?" Imagine spending years perfecting your voice, only to be dubbed over with Chris Pratt because people know his face. (It's not like his face is on the #%$% Poster!). There are films that tell unique stories and don't follow the studio exec kid's gloves requirement. But I guarantee that these films and shows were an absolute struggle to get made, and once they were the studios usually work hard to bury them. (Tron Uprising, Infinity Train)

We always said "Animation is Cinema" and that's true. It's an artform that's now in nearly every film. But that term means nothing if you're still going to treat animation the same way. If you're still going to add fart jokes, only aim it at kids and feel like the only adults watching are parents and you still need to trick them into seeing it. I hear this phrase said so much, but now it feels like it's simply crossed into buzzwords territory to help trick some audience members into giving the studio money. Warner Bros. at one point was one of the studios that seemed like they wanted to treat animation like a real artform. It looks like now they don't even want to remember it exists.

But it's not all doom and gloom. There are people working outside the studio system to actually create some amazing work (Hazbin Hotel for example). Artists want to create. To tell stories and connect to people in ways that studios are too afraid to do. When you find an artist or a group working to tell these stories, I'd ask that you help them by telling as many people as you can about their work, reblogging it on the interwebs, and donating to them when you can.

I think the fans can really help in giving this medium the respect that places like Warner Bros. Discovery refuses to.

My theory on why the “cal arts” art style became so popular in modern cartoons.

I have a theory on why the “cal arts” art style became so popular. Now usually I call this art style the potato head noodly arm art style since not all of the people that do this art style went to cal arts like Rebecca Sugar. For the purposes of this rant I will be calling it the “cal arts” art style. A lot of people would argue this art style began with Adventure Time though I’d like to say it began with Flapjack since  a lot of the Adventure Time people got their start on Flapjack. Flapjack I like even with that noodly arm art style since it has a very weird sense of humor that I like. Then we go to Adventure Time where this art style got popularized. I liked the earlier seasons of Adventure Time since it had this laid back attitude to it that felt comfy. Then came all the other cartoons after that like Regular Show, Steven Universe and so on. They all started to use this potato head, noodly arm, cal arts art style. I have a theory why this art style became so popular.

I think this art style got popular as a fad. Adventure Time was doing it and since a lot of animators in the animation industry are all buddy buddy(nepotistic) with each other they started to copy that art style because it looked cool. So instead of developing their own unique art style they just copied this art style instead. It became a popular fad that eventually the bean counters at the studios caught wind of. They decided to encourage this art style because it’s cheaper to draw and they save money on it. So they encouraged this in modern cartoons and that’s why modern cartoons all have this cal arts art style. It started off as some indie fad, then people got lazy and copied it, then the studio heads encouraged it so they can save money and be as cheap as possible.

I wouldn’t even hate this art style so much if it wasn’t everywhere. Every cartoon nowadays looks like this and it gets annoying. They all have to be soft and have no sharp edges or angles. They can never bend their elbows at sharp angles. If this cal arts art style was just unique to a few cartoons I wouldn’t mind. But it’s in most if not all cartoons and it gets so fucking annoying seeing this everywhere. Say what you will about the older cartoons of the 90′s and 2000′s at least there was variety in their art styles. The closest you had to a unified art style were the Hanna-Barbera influences on Johnny Bravo, Dexter’s Lab and the Power Puff Girls. But even then there were other cartoons with unique art styles like Courage the Cowardly dog, Ed Edd n’ Eddy, Kids Next Door, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and etc. Hopefully, with the popularity in cartoons like Primal, Villainous, and Hazbin Hotel we will see a rejection of this cal arts art style and have a variety of different, unique art styles once again.

A Hanna-Barbera Styled Sundae Cinematic

Biggity Boggity Boogity, I’m a fan of the Scoobity. Scooby-Doo has had a pretty stuffed history. We got him teaming up with the WWE and other celebs, be a part of a few Hanna-Barbera crossovers, they let Scrappy-Doo exist, and we got a couple of theatrical live-action films that are pretty good all things considered. But we somehow never got a theatrical animated film and Scoob! is the answer to this. Unfortunately, the virus came for movie theaters like karens to a supermarket, so we all gotta pirate it at home instead. But did this TV movie, after quite a bit of hype, live up to it?

Did the film make Dick Dastardly one of the sexiest men I’ve seen in a while?

I’ll leave the answer up to you, but I unfortunately have my gripes with it. First of all, Shaggy’s voice sucks. Will Forte tried, he’s not ear-grating, but he has the 2nd worst Shaggy impression I’ve heard of all time. And speaking of sound, I’m not a fan of how they handle the sound effects. I get that it’s a cartoon film, but it’s like Hazbin Hotel where they can be distracting yet felt like they went ham on the soundboard. Lastly, there are jokes/moments that aren’t the worst but will certainly make this feel like Buzzfeed wrote them and thus dates the film already; let’s just say every time Blue Falcon says anything, I legit wince. All in all, nothing makes this too off-putting, but it doesn’t help that this Scooby-Doo movie is not that much of a Scooby-Doo movie.

No thanks to the Blue Virgin who is the worst in this film

Now I’m not saying it’s not a Scoob film because Blue Falcon set them aside, it’s because there’s no compelling mystery. Most of what Scooby-Doo is about is the gang figuring out the evil plans of the secret bad guy, even the live-action films understood this, but here there’s nothing because you already know Dick Dastardly is the villain. There’s a good joke about it in the end but otherwise the gang has little to do as a mystery team, even when they’re separated in the first 13 minutes for a majority of the movie. Whether Blue Falcon and his crew were in this or not, there’s very little to think about they make it apparent that Dastardly is behind everything. So of course people aren’t gonna find this as interesting when you take out what made Scooby-Doo great in the first place. Then when you add stuff like the Blue Fucklenut, you get a pretty bloated film that doesn’t say anything you probably haven’t seen or heard before. Then again...

It is a pretty charming movie nonetheless

As a lvl 7 fan of the Emoji Movie, I can safely say that even when you strip away the annoying jokes and moments, I still got an entertaining kick out of this. The choppy meta of it doesn’t kill the good moments that are seasoned throughout the film. I loved Daphne, Dynomutt, and Dick was still a good villain where it felt like he was enjoying his role. Their storyline’s on the cliched side, sure, but Scoob and Shaggy’s dynamic was fun to see because it didn’t feel like the writers sacrificed who they are in favor of something subversively different. The characters honestly kept this film afloat for me, especially Captain Caveman that honestly made up one of the best parts of the film. On top of that, we got amazing animation that I say well sets WB apart from Pixar and Dreamworks in capturing that cartoon-y style great in 3D; makes me at least optimistic for Space Jam’s sequel. It’s not as good a Scooby film, but it’s a good film with the Scooby gang in it.

And Simon Cowell but I don’t like giving him attention

Overall, Scoob! on par with the animated Addams movie where yeah, it’s not the best we’ve got of the franchise, but it never felt like, say, the original Tom & Jerry film or the live-action Smurfs films where the main attraction is the most insulting aspect of it. I can say it’s nothing but a constant nudge at making a cinematic universe, but I won’t mind saying I at least enjoyed what we got for now.
