Doris Doodle book stuff

And why I ain't posting much currently

Trying to slowly get into posting more. Working on things and then there were a lot of mental ups and downs, but I already mentioned that (my upset at everything has now moved into me writing to representatives. Probably doesn't do much but it helps me feel better doing something.)

Any way. As the Doris Doodle book gets closer to completion, I'll start posting and interacting more. I plan to do more books and have a side story currently going on the patreon. But, I probably won't do the next book in the same style. I love the style, but book one is mixed media with a lot of detail, drawings, blender work and painting. So it takes a while to put together. I think the first book will set a tone for the world and then the others will be a simpler style.

When it's near completion, I plan to do a crowdfund to help promote it, sell advanced copies, and pay to print it. I plan to add more to the patreon page and start interacting more on the social pages. At this time, most of my focus is on completing the first book. Just want everyone to know, it's moving along nicely. Also, in case you missed other posts, the book will be the canon story.

Recently i've been back into Fnaf and it made me wonder something

Do the Fnaf franchise have toons, despite dont having any cartoons? Like, the movie is the only fnaf media with actual human actors, every other time (including now with into the pit) it always used stylized characters, the comics, books, promotional art, and the games with Security Breach and Into the Pit (the latter with characters being more cartoony in style than the former)

Just asking as just find a little funny and odd that such big horror franchise is mostly cartoony in art style, than again, is suprisingly gore-less and safe for kids for most of the time, excluding implied gore or things told in books

That is funny! Those things are everywhere and popular enough to be toons. But the only walk around characters are animatronic. Maybe they want to keep the real world versions as machines only.

Someday, maybe they'll give us cartoon stars. And when they do, I'm getting a photo with Chica.

Honestly, concerning the aforementioned ask, I thought you toons would be more than ecstatic at the thought of a world without humans, even actively trying to bring it about. Honestly, if I wasn’t trying to get back to Heaven, I’d go full-on “Hour of Joy” on the Homo sapiens species!

Like a planet of the toons? Tempting. There are humans I like though. And others I really really really don't. You get it. Thinking about it, no threat of being erased because an audience doesn't like you. No changes to your body because of what a panel says. All of us would be free roaming toons. No contracts, no-

Okay, this is worryingly tempting. I need to have a weird talk with Doris about existence now.

They're considered V Toonfluencers. But it's all online. So if you meet in person, no telling if you'll meet a Toon or get cart-fished by a human.

Hey, Doris! What’s your favorite gag used in cartoons, what ones do you think are overused, and which ones do you think are toxic?

Okay, favorite gag. The reversed argument. It's hard to resist, can get you into trouble, but seeing it happen to others is still hilarious.

Overused? That's a hard one. Especially now that so few cartoons use the old gags. One I used to like but now see too often is looking at the camera. That used to have a point but now it feels like I'm being asked if I get the joke. This probably became too much after live action shows starting doing it too.

Toxic. They used to lift women's skirts constantly. Minnie Mouse had hers lifted by a hook in one of her first cartoons. And for a while it just became normal to lift skirts for a joke. They already had us wearing skirts so short you could see our bloomers.

Ey Doris, what video games Genres you like and great at? I kinda imagine your like a fast platforming, racing gamer, and maybe some rogelike and Metroidvania mix in

I understood maybe 1 of those things. My games were Galaga, Pac-Man, space invaders and for a short time Pack Rat. Dawn has gotten me to play more recent things. I really enjoyed cuphead. And there's this new mouse mobster game she showed me. I told her I'll try it.

We've been gone for a while!!

Sorry for being absent. We had a lot planned for Thanksgiving ,Halloween, Christmas and new years, but things sort of fell apart. Depression, struggles, and the ever looming possibility that doing something creative will no longer be a way to make a living (not that it's simple to do now)

Anyway, we're getting back into the rhythm by honestly stopping any news alerts from hitting us. Adjusting the algorithm on YouTube took a while.

So we're going to start answering questions again, and adding more lore info (patrons already discovered some nice toon history on patreon.com/DawnandDorisDoodle)

Also making more headway on the canon graphic novel. Crossing our fingers for a 2025 release!

So did you ever meet the Gruff Brothers or did your show just played their cartoons?

The Gruff Brothers! I haven’t thought of them for a long time. We only played their cartoon along with Popeye, Mama BoPeep, Belle Bunny and a few other MGM gems. I met some of the girls, outside of the studio. The boys usually kept to themselves. The Gruff Brothers haven’t had a cartoon since the Gruff Gaffer Gallery shorts in the 60s. Those were also the first shorts they talked in. They didn’t do too well. Buried under the sudden rise of Hanna-Barbera Toons. Why watch the Gruff Brothers when Top Cat gave you the same type of mischief.
