Stealing Harry is a Harry Potter fanfic I wrote beginning in roughly 2003 -- I'm not sure when I ended but it was posted across a couple of years, because it had several sequels. It's an AU written before the books were complete (it was begun before book five came out, and the last full chapter was posted sometime around the time book seven did) where Sirius never goes to Azkaban and instead ends up, along with Remus, taking Harry away from the Dursleys when Harry is eight. Stealing Harry basically only covers about a year, but the sequels cover up through Harry's third year at Hogwarts as a total AU.

he comes out pretty young and has already socially transitioned when he starts at hogwarts. i think Pomfrey would set him up with magical puberty blockers and hormones when he is old enough

chose the name remus on purpose, the little shit.

somehow didn’t realize he could be gay til around 3rd year- thought since he was a guy he had to date women. he was not happy about that

he and lily went on one date to hogsmeade (james cried but gave his blessing) and he ended up coming out to both her and himself at the three broomsticks

they fake dated for a while until he eventually came out to the other marauders and for the most part james was just thrilled to find out lily was single

sirius didn’t react as well but only because he had a baby crush on remus that he didn’t understand yet and was pissed when remus started dating kingsley around 5th year

the other marauders know he’s trans starting 3rd year because of a mixup between them finding out he’s a werewolf and trans

“we know what you are” “okay yes i’m trans” “you’re a werewo- wait what”

alternatively he tells them he’s trans to cover up for his monthly clinic visits when they start catching on to his lycanthropy

5th year he starts hormones and sirius goes insane because his voice is getting deeper

remus dates a couple different guys to distract himself from his growing crush on sirius who is growing out this stupid beard that definitely doesn’t make him want to jump his bones

sirius finally comes out as bi and has a fling with a guy in their year that ends because he’s too in love with remus

they have a weird back and forth for a while until they kiss 6th year and finally start dating (peter called it, james is floored, lily is just glad remus will shut up about sirius’s hair finally. she is wrong.)

they are obsessed with each other, get promise rings 7th year.

Remus keeps having pregnancy scares and Pomfrey is so close to strangling him

“just because you’re on testosterone doesn’t mean you won’t get pregnant remus! here’s a condom.”

sirius and james pay for remus’s top surgery when they graduate- he feels terrible about taking the money but they insist.

they want to get married but decide to wait until after the war

remus isn’t sure he wants kids but as soon as harry is born he’s a complete mess

he immediately asks sirius if they can have one

sirius is thrilled and they start planning for a baby as soon as the war is over

that obviously doesn’t happen and remus is devastated, swearing off the idea of having kids entirely.

after sirius gets out of azkaban they discuss it again but decide that it’s once again not the right time and besides, they have harry now.

and then

oops! they got too carried away and it happened anyways

they have a daughter because wolfstar girldads are so important to me

harry is deeply confused when he’s first told because he had no idea remus was trans or that they were together

he comes around and is a very proud older brother to the little one, doting on her constantly

no one dies and they all live 60 more years as a happy family

okay that’s it i have a bunch more including AUs and whatnot but i’ll stop there for now. I love wolfstar accidental pregnancy trope because they would absolutely be complete idiots about using protection. plus harry being completely invested in his godsister because he’s never had a real family before. he literally would look at her like she hung the stars in the sky.

When Harry leafs through his photo album, Hermione points out the handsome best man at his parents’ wedding and suggests he investigate this mysterious person. Reluctantly, Harry decides to write only after desperation to survive the summer on Privet Drive compels him.

Please, Don't Let Go by arlenrose: SO MUCH ANGST you have no idea!!! This messed me up. Harry goes after Sirius through the Veil in the Department of Mysteries. He's alive, and he has a choice to bring back his father or his godfather from the dead.

Hear me out:

Sirius travels to the future and goes to Hogwarts, he sees Remus as a professor and flirts with him and that kind of shit. It’s an au where Sirius in that timeline hasn’t escaped from Azkaban. He questions shit and Remus eventually tells him that he killed Lily, James and Peter and that he’s now in Azkaban and he can’t accept it, he has a mental breakdown. He finds out about what happened to the others like Marlene, Dorcas, Evan, Barty, Mary, Pandora etc. And he sees Luna yk and thinks about Pandora and he’s like “wait I thought Pandora was with Lily?”

then together they figure out what really happened cuz they see Peter on the marauders map. And they deal with him.

Then Sirius sees Harry and goes: “holy shit he looks just like James!! Am I an uncle?” And when Harry gets a little closer, he goes: “wait- his eyes? Why does he have blue eyes?” And Remus has to explain to him that Regulus joined the death eaters and died when he was 17 and that Harry’s mother is Lily and Sirius goes through another mental breakdown. And after he’s calmed down, he’s like: “so I’m not his uncle?” And Remus is like: “you’re the godfather.” And Sirius cheers up a little.

And when he sees that Harry is in love with Draco he is like: why do the potters have smth for the snarky, sad, depressed, Slytherin seekers who’s mean to them. And ppl from the black family. (I count Draco as a black cuz Narcissa is a black so yeah) (Regulus and Draco both getting the dark mark cuz they were forced😭😭😭)

and when Harry gets a tiny crush on ginny sirius goes like: HIS BEST MATES SIBLING?! OH LOOK HOW FUNNY SHES A GINGER TOO! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? See moony I told you it’s in his genes. (You can decide yourself if it’s endgame hinny or Drarry)

And he sees the Weasley twins and he’s like: “they’re my new idols!!” And Remus is like: “We’re their idols actually”

And he sees himself and James in Ron and Harry.

And after a few months when Sirius has caught up with everything, he flirts with Remus and is like: “you know moony I’m horny” and Remus is like: “well I can’t do anything about it, that would be pedophilia” and Sirius is like disappointed. But they eventually have sex (help😭Sirius is like 15 or 16 btw) and Sirius is like: “yOuR cOcK hAs GrOwN”. They take every chance they get to make out. And Remus is like: “oh how much I’ve missed this, missed you”

(They’re at Hogwarts btw) (it’s up to you if he pretends like he’s a student or if he’s hiding in Remus’ room) (but some professors would know if Sirius pretended like he was a student) (maybe he goes in disguise with polyjuice potion or smth?)

(He meets Harry if he’s just hiding and tells him everything but if you decide him to disguise as a student then he just watches from afar and doesn’t talk to him often.)

Remus asks him if this counts as cheating on his past self. And Sirius is like: “no you’re still you, so cheating on you with you is impossible”

Mcgonagall finds out about Sirius but doesn’t tell anyone.

Oh and it takes place during PoA and GoF. But the events just don’t happen, it’s like a normal Hogwarts year. So yeah no voldy coming back. Or no Sirius escaping Azkaban.

You can decide if Remus stays at Hogwarts during GoF or not, like the events didn’t happen so he doesn’t have to leave. But it’s up to you if he leaves and lives with Sirius in his house during GoF. But they’re definitely at Hogwarts during PoA.

and a bit to the end of GoF they figure out a way to send Sirius back to the 70s. Sirius says goodbye to everyone and leaves (Remus is like FUCKING sad cuz he has no one left) and as soon as Sirius is back he begs his brother to run away with him so that that terrible things don’t happen and he talks to James and Remus about Peter, and they do smth to fix that.

I'm a LOUD AND PROUD HUFFLEPUFF! BADGERS UNITE! Seriously, literally every test I have ever taken, Pottermore or otherwise, good and bad, has put me in Hufflepuff. I am so agressively Puff it's not even funny. My secondary house is Ravenclaw, and my Ilvermorny house is (probably) Pukwudgie.

I put waaaaayyyyy too much in my tags, seriously (siriusly. Heh). Check the tags of any post I put tags on, and you will find at least half of them are disorganized rambling.

I currently cannot pick a favorite marauder. I love them all too much. My favorite HP character is probably Ginny Weasley.

I am very much a book fan, not a movie fan. I've read all the books at least 5 times, but have read the Sorceror's Stone and The Prisoner of Azkaban more times than I can count. I have watched the first 3 movies all the way through once and have only seen the later movies in bits and pieces. I don't hate them, but they're not my favorites.

In case you didn't catch it in that last paragraph, I'm American, and nothing I write will be Britpicked. Sorry.

I love Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but I don't watch them on official platforms because JKR sucks. I don't have a favorite character; Newt, Tina, Queenie, and Jacob are all favorites.

While I loved Harry Potter as a kid and have a deep emotional attachment to it, it is a children's book with a LOT of worldbuilding and story issues. I like to use the world and magic as a sandbox to play in, less as a strict rule.

I don't really care too hard on ships. My aroace ass honestly says "the less you focus on it the better," but if you write it well, any dynamic can be good. That said, my usual likes are as follows:

Marauders: wolfstar (I'm basic trash), jily (again, basic trash), peter thinks everyone is hot but never gets to seriously date anyone r.i.p., marlene mckinnon/mary macdonald (although marlene has a fat crush on Dorcas Meadowes that never really goes away), Dorcas Meadowes/Pandora Lovegood, and optional Rosekiller but I get sad if we spend too much time with the Slytherins.

HP: Ron/Hermoine, Ginny/Harry if you like or Ginny/Luna if you don't, Perciver, dislike Tonks/Lupin but I don't care that much, and I really really don't give a shit about anyone else.

I hate muggle AUs with a burning passion (no shame if you like them, just not my cup of tea), but I do like it when we get to let the wizards use muggle tech and in general be more integrated into the muggle world.

Peter Pettigrew is a marauder and I will DIE on this hill. I will defend this slimy turncoat disaster rat man to the end of my life. Please fight me, I'm excited.

Dadler and Graveson Au ideas!

1.Western au where Adler is a well known respected but more importantly feared sheriff known for tracking down the most wanted criminals, pair this with outlaw Phillip Graves that does his fathers criminal dirty work without sullying his pa's good name gaining a reputation because he leads a large of shadows.

2. Harry Potter Au where Adler is a wizard that got on the wrong side of the ministry of magic after using the unforgivables during his time as an auror, he is then sentenced to Azkaban but later escapes and begins to raise his son who was sent away because his mother thought he was a squib.

3. fantasy/monster Au where graves is a young hero full of hope and determination but the group of friends and allies he was traveling with was killed by a coven of vampires leaving him to die but Pureblood vampire Adler finds Phillip and turns him into a fledgling. (cue adler teaching Phillip how to get his revenge and before they know it their father and son!)

4. scientist and experiment AU where Adler broke into a illegal lab and found baby Phillip in one of the testing rooms and decided that the possible biohazard child was his son and took Phillip home, (thinking Phillip is a demi-human or a venom-symbiote thingy)

5. another fantasy au but Adler is a king of a very large and important kingdom and Phillip was supposed to be a prince but asked Adler if he could be a general. Phillip dies in battle (here comes the angst) And Adler searches for a way to bring his boy back before making a deal with a necromancer.

6. Supernatural Au where Adler and Phillip are a monster hunting father-son duo, but Phillip accidently gets hooked on demon blood and Adler is trying to help him but fails miserably as his son slowly turn more and more into a demon, so Adler sells his soul to heal his son.

7. Criminal Au Adler is retired and decided to go into law for some reason. And everything goes well until he has to deal with a certain case between his son that he thought was just a normal marine and not a PMC commander and a certain general that Adler is pretty sure was involved in some nasty business during the gulf war.

Whoop!! We are finally back on track. I wrote 31,765 words this week, it was a slog and half as I mixed up some date fests 🤦‍♀️. I uploaded 7 fics this week, but 3 are unrevelaed until the 29th!

Summary: Harry likes kids. That doesn't mean he's ready for a small boy to turn up on the doorstep of Grimmauld Place insisting that Harry is his father. That was weird enough, but the child identifying Draco Malfoy as his other parent was something Harry had no bloody idea how to handle.

Not All That Glitters (Is Good For Your Health) - comatosecombat - The Hobbit (Bilbo/Thorin)

Summary: In his attempt to distract Smaug from attacking Lake-town, Bilbo accidentally destroys the One Ring of Power, saves the day and brings peace on Middle-Earth.

Summary: Thorin's herd is the last of the Durin Tribe. Between dwindling food supplies, a mare shortage, and an increasing human population, Thorin has his hands full trying to keep his herd alive. What was Bellatrix like after Azkaban? How did it impact her and her relationships?

Anon I have to be honest, I hate fanon interpretation and the more I watch the movies the less I enjoy HBC's interpretation too. Don't get me wrong she's an exceptional actress and I absolutely fell in love with her the moment we saw her on screen but her version of Bellatrix is very very ooc from book canon.

There are some aspects of her I absolutely love from the films, but honestly book Bellatrix is where its at. Now, we don't know what Bellatrix was like pre-Azkaban. We get snippets of her but everything else we get is from Harry's perspective and he thinks her simultaneously repulsive and attractive.

So here's my take on post-Azkaban Bellatrix:

Mentally changed - no, not insane. Not in the way the films showed. I think she was marked criminally insane when she was sentenced to life in Azkaban however the actual meaning of 'criminally insane' is: not being responsible for ones criminal actions because of a mental disorder. She was fully aware of what she was doing and she did it all with pride for the love of her life and likely also because every action she took acted on her own personal beliefs that muggleborns and halfbloods and muggles are below her.

Similarly, a personal headcanon - she is mentally changed because she's been occluding so deeply and for so long. I think her perceptions of reality are slightly distorted, I think her perception of time is completely thrown off and I think this is because she was locked in a cell for 14 years and unable to be with the love of her life who she knew was alive but no one else believed her and she couldn't do anything about it.

I see her physically changed too. I think Azkaban didn't leave her too thin for too long and too ragged looking (like HBC's version with the birds nest hair and disgusting teeth) considering witches have a lovely little thing called magic... and Bellatrix also strikes me as too conceited to let herself look that bad. She was described 'feverish' in the department of mysteries but I personally put this down to bloodlust like a predator finally released from its cage. I think she practiced a lot of wandless dark magic in her cell whether it was rune marking - with her own blood too probably. I don't think she just sat there and rot away. I think she went deep into her magic while she occluded, calling to the stars to keep her love safe and so on.

Relationships:

Rodolphus. I think she missed him. I will forever headcanon they are best friends (who also happen to have very good sex) and they get on like a house on fire but Voldemort was always the one she felt that chemistry and deeper rooted passion with. I think they likely grow closer post-Azkaban.

Narcissa. This one is complicated. I think Narcissa is a little apprehensive of Bellatrix this time around. I think Bellatrix is a lot darker than she remembers, I think Narcissa sees a lot more of Voldemort in her sister and she begins to really resent it. I can imagine however that there's something about her darkness that Narcissa likes...something she can't resist getting close to given she too is a Black.

Voldemort. I think they find their rhythm fairly quickly. I think they spend a lot of time together, even if its just relearning each other. I think he doesn't see her as any different - if anything, he thinks her more beautiful. I think they spend every night together, I imagine her clingy and him for once not minding it. Their passion goes through the roof and I think Voldemort wants to indulge in her again and again for months on end (I mean with canon Delphi, how did that happen? Lots of hot filthy toe curling sex).

Delphini. in which of course I mean my AU where she's trio era. Now this one I think is more complicated. I love to headcanon that Delphini looks a lot like Bellatrix. I like to think Bellatrix finds her hard to look at for exactly that reason. She sees what she used to be in her daughter. I think physically she restrains herself from affection for a long time because she mentally can't take looking at her. However, I think eventually they start to heal and things will go back to normal.

Death Eaters. I don't doubt for one second every single one of them is shit scared of Bellatrix. I think they know her reputation well since pre-Azkaban and now she's even more ruthless they're not for a second going to test her.

Family: she's come out of prison 14 years and everyone she loved in her family (save Narcissa) is dead. That's a lot to wrap your head around. She loses her father, her Aunt, her Uncle (though I do like to HC Orion dies just before she goes to Azkaban) and she and Cissa are the last Blacks.

An AU Idea I had

So I have heard from some people that if friendships last more than 7 (or 10 - I forget which), it lasts a lifetime.

The Marauders met on the 1st of September, 1971. While it is difficult to say whether they became friends instantly (like James and Sirius did, but I am not sure about the other two) or not. But it is safe to say that they did cross the 7 year mark right after they left for Hogwarts. (And assuming they became friends instantly, September of 1981 would have been their 10 year anniversary.)

So let's take the wizarding world. The whole friendship for a lifetime thing. Love and friendship are important themes in the Harry Potter saga, so let's take it a bit further. If you have been friends with someone for a certain period of time, you are bound to be their friend for a lifetime. You can choose the number - either 7 (the number with the most magical significance in the series) or 10 (a special number, which feels more significant when specifying the length of time spend together)

With 10:

For the 10 year friendship thing, I figured that they'd have to be friends instantly for their 10 year anniversary to fall before James dies. Now this gives us a period of 2 months - all of September + most of October (or even all). Let us consider 31st October to be the actual date their friendship started (like Harry, Ron and Hermione)

For the 10 year thing, idk I just figured Peter is really content with being friends with them. He still does spy, but he tries not to let his friends be the ones in danger. (The list eventually also includes Lily and Harry.)

Until the prophecy.

Until Harry Potter is Voldemort's newest target, and there is no way Peter can convince James to just hand over Harry. Peter knows, that James would die for Harry, if it came down to it. But it's okay, he figures. They'll go into hiding. He just doesn't have to know where, so Voldemort wouldn't find out either.

Enter Sirius and the brilliant plan.

Exit James and Lily.

Wait, wait, a whole bunch of stuff happens in between.

Peter doesn't want to betray his friends, not really. He doesn't want James, Lily and Harry to be in danger, because he does love them. But he loves living more.

So, when he becomes the Secret Keeper, and Voldemort asks him for the Potters' location, he gives it. Belatedly, he remembers, that their 10 year anniversary is coming up. That it is tomorrow - Halloween. If James dies on Halloween, the 10 year pact wouldn't really have kicked in, per say. Peter would be fine. He hopes.

He prays that James and Lily just let Harry die - atleast they'd survive. But he doesn't dare ask Voldemort that.

Now we're back to the 'Exit James and Lily' part.

But of course, the bond doesn't kick in - not really, not until the 31st of October is over. Somehow, Peter ends up cursed anyway.

Sirius Black confronts Peter on the 1st of November, 1981. Hours after the 10 year anniversary of their friendship. Peter betrays Sirius. Peter blows up the street. Sirius goes to Azkaban. Peter ends up cursed.

James seems to haunt Peter - a ghost only he can see. Keeps haunting him, keeps guilt tripping him, keeps blaming him, and most of all, keeps wanting to be with his son. It drives Peter crazy. He is unable to do anything about it because as far as anyone else is concerned, he is dead. So if he makes a reappearance to get help, he is dead. And he is worried that if he stays like this, he will kill himself.

(Ofc James is not really there. James cannot be forced to spend the rest of his existence haunting Peter. James is wherever dead people are - not with the living. Peter's magic, having bonded with the other 3, seems to be going against him for what he did to them. James is just the only one who could reasonably haunt Peter, so his magic (or head) conjures up images of James.)

(Or it could go a different way. Maybe they become friends on Sirius' birthday. Maybe Peter had James killed and framed Sirius right before their 10 year anniversary so he wouldn't be bound by the promise of a friendship lasting a lifetime (it did last a lifetime for James). Maybe Peter planned out the day. Maybe.)

With 7:

The same story really. Except, in this case Sirius is also haunted by 'James'. Yes, yes, I know Sirius did not betray James. But Sirius thinks he was (atleast partially) responsible for James' death. That guilt is enough to convince his magic that he broke the friendship pact.

The dementors ........................... do not help.

I admit, I got this idea from a Coco fanfiction called The Bedside Ghost by the amazing PengyChan. It is an amazing story and I 100% recommend everyone to check it out.

Odysseus

Remus. The Odyssey is a story where there is only one survivor. Other than Mary, he's the last one. "All I hear are screams, every time I dare to close my eyes. I no longer dream, only nightmares of those who've died." "I'm right here, mom-" "Why are my eyes and my heart and my soul so heavy?"

Polites

James. It kinda mirrors his role in the canon story, too. Constantly the sunshiny reminder of trying to get Remus to open up. "I want to show my friend that kindness is brave."

Eurylochus

Peter. Cares about Odysseus, but goes behind his back and ultimately causes the death of several hundred men, and doesn't tell anyone about it until Odysseus is going to sacrifice six more. Then blames Odysseus. Always so unsure of his plans and untrusting-- although, who could blame Eurylochus in the end (thats not the same with peter we can all blame peter) "I've got a secret I can no longer keep..."

Athena

This one is hard, but McGonagall isn't a bad idea. She would have been present for both Remus and Teddy being in school. "Then we grew apart, then his light went dark... maybe, if I hadn't missed it all, maybe he'd be fine..." "You're a good kid."

Penelope

Sirius, because I just. I love the idea of the siren pretending to be Sirius. Sirius is also alone for all that time like in Azkaban, though I guess he would work just as well for Odysseus, but for these purposes I'm saying Penelope. "Just keep your eyes open." "Well you asked, and now you know! Now jump in the water!"

Aeolus

Marlene, though I also considered Harry, actually! If Harry had a bit less trauma and was a wee bit more whimsical. Marlene has the right energy, honestly. Playful and wanting to help- until you waste that help. "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer!" "I am the wind, twisting and turning, I give the fire enough to stay burning!"

Poseidon

Regulus. I don't know WHY it feels right, but I like the idea of Reggie just having enough power to screw stuff up for poor Remus. Not every enemy can be Dumbledore, after all. Telemachus
