Halloween was supposed to be Danny’s night off—a chance to enjoy the frights and fun without worrying about ghosts or ghost hunters. He, Sam, and Tucker were strolling through the rainy streets, drenched but laughing, making their way to a Halloween party. Danny had even gone for a classic look, throwing an old bed sheet over himself. Underneath, he was still Phantom, his ghostly glow hidden, figuring no one would notice on Halloween. Right?

As they got closer to the party, droplets dripping down his soaked sheet, Danny couldn’t help but feel a bit smug. Maybe I’ll get through tonight without a single ghost hunt, he thought, smiling to himself.

But just as he let his guard down, he caught sight of two familiar figures in the distance—his parents, Jack and Maddie, sprinting toward him with their ghost-hunting gear gleaming through the mist. Their ecto-scanners must have picked up his signature. Heart pounding, he backpedaled, slipping and stumbling until he found himself cornered in a nearby alley, the rain pouring down harder, plastering his sheet to his body.

“Uh… can’t I just, like, take a night off?” Danny stammered, pulling the sheet tighter around him, hoping they wouldn’t recognize the glow. “By the way, nice costumes!”

“Costumes?” Maddie smirked, aiming her ecto-blaster, raindrops streaking down her goggles. “Nice try, Phantom, but we’re not here to trick-or-treat.”

Danny shot a desperate look at Sam and Tucker, silently begging for an escape plan. Spoiler alert: they didn’t have one. His parents were closing him inn he hit the back wall of the alley, rain dripping down his face, and in his panic, the sheet slipped from his shoulders, leaving him exposed as Phantom. Great. Just great.

“Well, well, look who’s cornered,” Jack grinned, his blaster humming as he powered it up. “We’ve been saving this tech just for you, Phantom!”

Danny forced a nervous smile, raising his hands in surrender. “Uh, I was just here for the candy, really…”

His dad fired before he could finish, and Danny found himself tangled in an ecto-net, rain-soaked and sputtering as his powers faded. “A net? Really? You can’t do better than that?” he muttered before realizing sarcasm probably wasn’t helping.

“Oh, we’ve got more than that,” Maddie replied, tightening the net with a gleam in her eye. “Tonight, we’re making sure you’re not going anywhere.”

Danny cast a helpless look at Sam and Tucker, rain dripping from his hair. “Uh… a little help?”

Sam shrugged, giving him a teasing smile. “You did say you wanted an exciting Halloween.”

Danny sighed, muttering under his breath, “Should’ve just gone as a ninja…”

I wanted to draw something for Halloween. And DP is the perfect match for it, for me though. First I didn’t want to draw Dannyyy angry… But all of a sudden his brows were furrowed. So I had to came up with a little story behind the art lol.

2024 - a retrospective

(I am writing this in my bed instead of partying because I am not feeling so good again, and because this is honestly the place I feel most at ease to end and start the new year)

2024 was... let's say a bit better than 2023, for me, but in general pretty tiring. With constant small health problems and some issues with writing, I have not been as productive as I'd hoped. However, in my personal life some things have changed for the better (I have changed my university course, and it has helped in diminishing my constant anxiety), and I have made small but constant work on TKH.

On the topic of my IFs.

While 2024 hasn't seen any new content for The King's Hound, there has been a rewrite which was very needed for lore reasons, and which I am happy about. I have also polished the UI, and have commissioned official art for Morien. While there hasn't been an update yet, though, the work is done and you can expect it very soon.

I have also rebounded Golden Ashes (previously: From The Ashes We Rise), my regency era dragon shifter IF, with a rewrite happening behind the scenes and a new look for the blog (the demo right now remains privated).

2024 has been a year of changes. For me and for my IFs

But this is only the beginning. For 2025, I have projects. I want to release the content I have for TKH, the updated version of GA, and I want to commission more art for TKH. I also, and on this I am like 80% sure, am strongly considered making Arthur gender selectable. Details will be revealed later if/when I decide on it, but that might be another change coming.

I might be repetitive, but the community around my projects has been... unexpected, and warm, and absolutely vital for me, the last few years. I was, still am, a very anxious person that cycles through depression and while it is now a bit better, I still consider this a safe place where i can fall back on every time I need it. It's all thanks to you.

30 Things To Make Life Unforgettable

Appreciating life is one of the things I´ve learned this year, small things, happy moments... All of them are valuable for who we are as well as who we will become. However, we are not conscious of what we have, all the feellings we are experimenting and the opportunities we are losing for doing other things (such as being on our phones 5+ hours). I hope this list helps you making life a little bit simpler.

Walking in the rain. In my city rains a lot, so I´m not going to propose you going to the beach, since I can´t (obv you can do it), we have to adapt ourselves to what we have, and rain is one of my favourite things, I used to hate it when I was younger tho.

Spend your day in a cozy cafe. Not only can you have a coffee, but you can also read, study and be productive. The bes part is that you are experimenting new things, being productive and having fun with a hot coffe/tea.

Put your phone away. Be present babe, this is all what we have, you want to live your life, don´t you? Then start doing it, of course you are not going to live advemtures everyday, but at least you can try it. :)

Learn new things. It will never be a waste of time knowledge.

Be more passionate and intense. Who cares if you are too much? It only matters what YOU want.

Trying new recipees. I didn´t use to be a big fan of cooking, but I tried it few months ago, and let me tell you, all I do naw are bisquits for people I care.

More museums, more art gallery. I´ve always wanted to give mysterious girl vibes (I´m a yapper but introverted at the same time) you can always try reading in a museum.

"For the plot" mindset. My friends and I sometimes play saying yes to almost everything, just to see hwo things develop. It´s very fun:)

Bucketlisting. In a world of consumerism no one can scape

Trying something new. I started dancing, and I feel so energetic.

Learning to be alone. I do have a post about it :) go check it after this one.

Candle+Sweater=Coziness. Scented candles, my bff in autumn/winter.

Book annotating. It helps focusing, you can go through your notes after it and in my opinion creates more powerful bonds with the story and you.

Old classic books. Culture girls are the hottest.

Cooking your own meals. It's such a simple and sweet act of self-care. You can also try making your own Jam or something.

Doing things that you enjoyed as a child. My favorites are horse riding, swimming, baking, and bubble baths.

Buying flowers for yourself. It doesn't have to be an expensive and fancy bouquet, just some pretty flowers for your room.

Doing your nails. I like red wine ones, makes me feel like a vampire!

Taking more Photos. You can also buy a cool vintage camera (I recommend looking on eBay!) to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

Trying crochet, knitting, or sewing. I'm trying to crochet a sweater for my dog right now, haha.

Planting a plant. I tried to plant an avocado, but it didn´t grow as i expected, although i´ll keep trying it

Making plans with your friends like going on a picnic. You could plan some themed picnics like cottagecore, homemade food from your culture, strawberries, and so on; also a great opportunity to take some pictures!

Do volunteer work. Tried it last year, it was so fun to learn new skills and meeting new people while trying to make world better.

Writing a diary. Writing down things that have happened and looking back at them feels really lovely to me.

Writing letters to your friends. Letters just feel more personal than text; you can also keep them as a memory.

Dressing in a way that makes you feel happy. Wearing outfits that make you feel confident will definitely make life better.

Petting stray cats. I love cats.

Starting to collect something. You could collect something small like jewelry or postcards!

Playing music in the background while doing stuff. I can't stop listening to the lofi girl stream on youtube, haha.

Going on gloomy walks in the Forrest. Name something more comforting. I will wait.

You're so real, tysm. These are written as shorter blurbs/what he plans for you and how he handles your nerves.

Summary : When you're nervous for your first day at a new job tomorrow, your boyfriend/best friend takes notice of your anxious habits and finds a way to calm you down.

Changbin -

He'd noticed pretty much immediately after the call that you'd received how nervous you'd gotten. Sitting in the studio together and watching as you bounce your leg and answer the call; The smile on your face is more than enough to make him a bit giddy in return. He feeds off of your happiness constantly - it's as if it's infectious to him.

But as the phone call ends and you tell him you'd gotten the job you were hoping for, the two of you share a soft hug before he rubs a hand over your back and questions if you were excited for your first training day. And as the realization settles in, your smile gradually fades.

Of course you were excited to start this job; You'd wanted it for a while now but now that it was in your palms, what if you fucked up? What if you did something wrong and they decided to go with a different candidate instead? What if you weren't what they actually wanted for the job?

Changbin cocks a brow at your lingering silence and stands, bringing your attention back to him as he pushes in the desk chair. "Come on, we're heading out."

Not one to question your boyfriend, you nod and grab your jacket before following him out. "Where are we heading? Home, or did he have to stop by the--"

"We're going out for dinner. My treat." He turns to look at you as he makes his way through the maze that is the jYP company building.

You blink a bit in surprise, the promise of free food a tempting ordeal. "Okay..-!"

He decides to treat you to a nice meal as preparation for the following day. Taking you to a BBQ place and renting out a small room for just the two of you to sit in, he pays for it all with a smile on his face and lets you order whatever the Hell you want. Grilling the meat himself and making sure to feed you the first few pieces that come off, the two of you relax when you sit and it seems your nerves for the new job have completely dissipated from the enjoyment of food.

Sharing a meal with him was always nice, but it was even better when he was giggling with you the entire time and making such nice conversation that you didn't have a moment to worry about the job. By the end of the night as the two of you are heading home, his hand lays over your thigh in the passenger seat and he spares you a shy smile - even if he's been your boyfriend for almost two years now.

"You're going to do great, you know that? You're gonna slay this new job."

"Okay, Bin. Thank you, but please don't ever say slay again." You giggle, tangling your fingers with his in your lap.

Seungmin -

"Quit it."

"But it's gonna be awfuuuuul." You whine, dragged by the sleeve out of the apartment building and down the sidewalk towards the corner store. "What if they don't like my art style? I mean I know they looked at my portfolio to like, hire me and everything but--"

Seungmin whips his head back to look at you and you hush up immediately, watching the way his lips quirk upwards at the corners as he turns back around. He continues walking, grip loose on your sleeve before eventually falling away with you at his side. Seeming happy that you'd complied and hadn't tried to run back to his dorm as safety from the biting chill of the night, Seungmin pulls open the door to let you in first.

And then promptly cuts you off to step inside instead.

It makes you laugh, following him in and wandering behind him to find snacks. A few bags of chips are picked up along the way around the store, one soda for you and an iced americano for him, along with a small packet of candies he'd found somewhere in there. He turns to take everything from your hands, placing it on the counter and tugging his card from the back of his phone to pay.

"No more sulking." He demands in a soft tone, voice lower at being in a public place. His head tips to peek at you and you feel heat creep to your cheeks at his eyes being on you, nodding curtly and diverting your attention to a candy bar nearby.

He taps his card against the reader before sliding it back into his phone case and taking the bag of snacks. You follow along like a puppy lingering behind, trailing back a bit until he pauses ahead and waits for you to be back by his side.

"I said no sulking," He looks to you, lips pressed together in a thin line.

"I know, I'm just nervous."

"I know." He blinks. "I was nervous too when I started this job. But everything went okay, even if there were times I wanted to give up or just quit. And I fucking rule at my job now, don't I?"

You peek up at him, voice quieting as if you'd get bodyslammed by a passerby if you said it too loud. "Of course you do. You're one of the best performers I know, Min--"

"Exactly." He stops, causing you to stop as well. And leaning down, he grips you by the jaw so you can't pull away when he leans in closer. "And you're one of the best artists I know. So?"

You hesitate, knowing he expects you to finish the analogy on your own. "I'm gonna.. fucking rule at this new job."

"Damn right you are." Seungmin nods firmly before dropping his hand and beginning to walk again. "Come on, pretty girl. We got shit to do. Shit being watching movies all night while Felix rages at LOL."

Your lips quirk into a shy smile as you linger, following after soon enough and running to catch up with him. He lets you hold onto his arm as you make the walk back, and though he isn't quite sure when his hand slipped down to hold onto your own - he definitely wasn't going to mention it or complain.

Dragon Age, as a series, deserved so much better than Veilguard.

Spoilers for Veilguard and maybe other DA stuff.

Obligatory 'I'm not an asshole' disclaimer. Feel free to jump to the cut if you've read it.

Something came to my attention. I need to make it crystal clear that I utterly love the diversity in DAV. It's fantastic. I'm also a heavily left leaning, non-binary, queer as fuck reviewer, editor, and author.

I was on media blackout while I played DAV. Please be safe and take care of yourselves. Arguing with incels and white supremacists is completely pointless. They sea lion worse than an actual sea lion. Your mental health is important.

Though, every single time the anti-queer brigade comes out for a new DA game, I sit there thinking 'have you bozos ever played any DA game, like, ever?' My guess is nope.

Note. None of my writing on DA, but especially DAV, is edited. This is just my off the cuff writing. I don't have the time, energy, or heart to edit them properly.

The Solavellan romance deserved a much better end than 'die and go to fade prison'. I agree that Inky would likely be happy to leave. She's as traumatized as Solas for having to lead when she didn't want to. But I needed more than a craptastic Romeo and Juliet ending.

I refuse to do the heavy lifting for the writers. If it wasn't shown in the game or in supplementary materials, it didn't happen. Showing us the story was the writers' and devs job, not mine.

I mourn what will never be, even as I work on a Solavellan fix it fic.

How could they betray the IP so badly?

How could they betray their fanbase so badly? The fanbase that kept hope for that game alive for 10 years. I've seen so many people saying they've lost their interest or passion for the entirety of Dragon age. That they're not even remotely interested in another game because absolutely none of the choices we made in previous games matters anymore. They've wiped everything clean... or blighted it anyway. (I have absolutely no interest in another DA game. Not with Epler/Busche/Weekes involved. And whoever designed that ridiculous fighting system.)

The only way I could possibly be interested in another game would be if they loudly decanonized DAV, gave us a DLC (they've already confirmed there will be no DLC) that showed us Solas and Inky happy and not in a horrible place. One that showed us that somehow, something changed for the elves.

But that's so unlikely it's laughable.

The elves deserved a better ending. Are the survivors still enslaved or living in alienages? What actually changed for the elves except the largest portion of the Dalish being dead from blight? (That’s a real elvish win, isn't it?)

I'm a stubborn person. I refuse to let Epler's 'hate-revenge on Solas fan fic' ruin something I've loved for years. I still have the first 3 games. I'll make an actual happy ending and a decent romance for Rook in my fic.

And by the fact they paid a fortune to big gaming magazines while denying game keys to bigger honest reviewers... they knew.

They knew gamers wouldn't like it and tried to blow so much smoke up our asses with the interviews and AMAs.

How do they even sleep at night?

I'm a creative too, I write, do graphic design, digital (learning) and traditional (good) art.

My stories are important to me. They deserve not only an ending, but an ending that respects the characters, lore, and world that I've created.

My readers deserve that, too.

I, as the creator of my stories, deserve a decent, respectful ending.

Dragon age deserved it, too. A good, well thought out, and well written ending to the story of the Dreadwolf storyline, which, if you're paying attention, is intertwined through all 3 games. It's not just in Inquisition. One that made sense to the collected Lore, his struggles and mistakes, his literary role as an anti-hero.

I would never be able to do what they've done to a beloved series. I could never knowingly mislead fans like they did.

It's just a really painful reminder that beloved stories can be utterly destroyed in the wrong hands. And a reminder that there's so much talent and skill in Fan fic.

Busche worked on the Sims. No wonder the companions often feel as interesting as wet cardboard. Most Sims NPCs do, too. (I actually enjoy the Sims, but the NPCs aren't why I like it.)

And she had the gall to blame 'culture wars' and 'identity politics' for why the game is tanking. Rather than take ownership of the incredibly bad calls made for DAV.

It's just gross. I wish I could stop thinking about it. But Dragon Age got me through some tough times. It means a lot to me.

And it just deserved better. So did we.

Happy with the staff content this year but am I the only one who is disappointed with the PV we got? It's basically a slideshow of art we've already seen, major downgrade from the year 1 PV that had literally all the events. There was a drop in quality of the anniversary PVs over the years and it really shows this year. Sorry if you find this too negative I don't mean to hate I just wish Twst would do better for it's ANNIVERSARY.

[For everyone's reference, here are the anniversary PVs in order of release: 2021 / 2022 / 2023 / 2024]

Mmm, now that you mention it, I noticed this trend with the Halloween PVs 🤔 For year 1, there was a video that showed all members of the NRC casy, even those that did not receive cards at that time. There were then several short variants of the PV released for year 2/Endless Halloween Night (part 1 / part 2 / part 3 / part 4). Altogether, they feature all of the characters, including the students from year 1 but heavily shadowed and with glowing eyes to indicate ghostly possession. Even Glorious Masquerade features all of the students that get new cards for the event plus Rollo, although there are notably more still shots here. The Stage in Playful Land CM, by comparison, is significantly shorter and only shows us the three SSRs (Ace, Ortho, and Kalim) as well as the two new characters (Fellow and Gidel).

As this anon has said, the anniversary PVs have changed a lot over time too. The first one was the most animated and integrated several event outfits. The second one was also animated a fair amount, but you can tell corners were cut in some places where they transition to photographs/still images. This alone works thematically given that the player is a photographer, but you can still catch dips in quality when it comes to the art style. I remember finding Deuce running and the Kalim + Silver flying scene odd, as well as Jade and Trein's faces strange in general. Then the third PV rolls around and it only features the third years; the animation also seems to be much more sluggish (although this could be a stylistic choice; not sure). A friend actually recently pointed out to me that Lilia's pose looks like he was pulled straight from other assets; his artwork in the animation is almost the exact same as his smiling expression in the game. This year's is the most different (+ most static) and, like year 3's PV, only provides "new" content for a select few characters (the dorm leaders). They also reuse pre-existing illustrations already found in the game that don't seem to be picked for any particular reason (like, there are random Master Chef/Culinary Crucibles groovies in there). This direction, I'm guessing, is less costly and more efficient than making an entirely original animation, which is what was done in previous years. (Not that Disney or Aniplex is hurting for money to fund this, lol) Would I have preferred another PV in the style of year 1's? Yeah, for sure. I want to see other events and their outfits animated! Was what we got this year bad? Not necessarily; I think the production and editing was very technically impressive, but I'm still sad we didn't get anything substantially "new" to chew on (as someone who isn't a fan of most third years or the dorm leaders). Maybe it's just something we perceive as a deficit only because year 1 set the bar so high. It is what it is; whoever was in charge of the anniversary PV was probably doing the best they could with whatever budget they were given 😔 Let's hope that next year's will be a return to form, or that at least the money/effort is being redirected to other bigger projects (maybe the anime?).

Lee Felix Yongbok

Felix was baking, gleefully mixing the ingredients as music filled the room.

As you entered the kitchen, his face brightened and he smiled widely.

“Hi sweetheart! I’m making brownies!” He told you.

You slipped in between him and the table, staring curiously at the chocolate powered he had made.

With a mischievous smile, Felix pressed his chocolate covered finger against your nose, with a playful “boop!”.

As you two giggled, his gaze fell on the clock.

It was almost midnight.

Felix could feel the excitement for the New Year building up, though he was also a bit scared: what if it was worse than the year he had lived with you?

Nevertheless that thought was fleeting and his mind went back to the present.

Inside he begged the clock, time: ‘Please, stop for me’.

Hwang Hyunjin

Hyunjin knew that emotions and feelings could be fickle.

As he let you run your hand through his hair he thought about it a lot.

He was one to let emotions ge the best of him, to follow his whims.

He loved you and he knew that he wanted your relationship to last but a tiny part of him was terrified.

He was worried that your love for him would fade away.

He was scared to lose the beautiful feeling being with you gave him.

As midnight approached, however, he took a stroll through memory lane, through the moments you spent together.

By the end of it, as you got up from the couch, he smiled.

He was never going to stop loving you.

It was deep rooted like his love for art.

Loving you had become part of his soul, carved into his very being.

All he could hope for, this coming year, was for you to feel the same.

‘Let’s run through time together’ he thought, as his gaze followed you, before getting up and joining you.

Happy new year beans!! This last year was rough for so many people, and I am hoping that this year treats you kindly and that you all have the very best in the coming months! I also want to thank all of my followers new and old for being here!! I can't put into words how appreciative I am at all times that there are people out here who like my art and want to see it when i post it!! I know I have had a lot of hiccups in the last couple of years due to injury and illness and so on and so forth when it comes to making art, but I am genuinely so grateful to everybody who has stuck around even through the slow patches!!

I also must thank @gyapona my dear and darling manager and friend and so so much more, for all of their patience, and support, and for just existing! They are such a light and anchor for me when I am struggling 💖💖💖

32 fics total, between my main and rough draft pseud!! which feels like a really small amount, honestly-- i think my private WIPs list is MUCH higher 😂😂😂😂 if we're counting my very first (and very abandoned) ao3 acct too, then that number is bumped up to 35!!

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

i used to answer every single comment i got, honestly, unless it came by years after i posted it-- the only reason i dont as much anymore is because it gets REALLY overwhelming for me to respond to everyone after the initial barrage 😅😅 the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak etc etc. but i do read every comment and appreciate them SO SO MUCH, and whenever i find one particularly moving or want to just reassure people im still working on something i'll respond to those :]

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

not counting the wips that just never got finished and left off before their main shit could resolve, id say at times so self destructive (BNHA)-- i mean i LITERALLY ended it with izuku potentially dying 😭😭😭😭

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

tbh i dont think i write happy endings so much as i write hopeful, bittersweet, or open-ended ones-- i tend to like catharsis more than fluff when it comes down to it. but out of my fluff fics i think honey it's starting to storm (HC) is one of the genuinely sweetest ive written. my runner-ups on that would probably be when the smoke does finally pass (TMA) and or we could just have conversation (MSA) :]

Do you write crossovers?

not typically, and ive never published any, but i am definitely not immune to them 😂😂😂😂 i think my most niche crossover ive actually written (never to see the light of day) was a Nine Lives of Chloe King and Supernatural fic that was the definition of self-indulgent rot. only a little less niche than that was a Mortal Instruments and Supernatural crossover (theres a running theme here lol) lying in snippets on an ancient google doc in my oldest gmail acct. reread that one recently and its shockingly coherent for being written in like. 2016. id even call it decent (though theres a lot id change up if i were writing it now)

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

idk if it'd be considered hate but once i wrote a fic inspired by someone else's when i was very new to ao3, let them know (i didnt know about the "inspired by" option back then), and they got mad at me in my comments section because in their words, "its better than mine" 😭😭😭😭💥💥💥💥💥💥

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

i had a discussion with my qpp recently about how in all honesty the smut i write is pretty tame, its just the character emotions written behind it that makes it feel a bit deranged. smth smth scarian is a chemical explosion. u understand

yeppers!! the art of rawgabbitry (BNHA) received a translation to Russian, which i always found a bit funny because rawgabbitry is. one of my least favorite works ive ever written, if only for the type of comments it tended to receive back in the day 😭😭😭😭

ive never managed it honestly-- i get a bit precious about my process, which can make it hard to collaborate on that level. but its something ive always wanted to grow enough as a writer to try :]

not so much of a singular OTP type of guy as i have favorite pairings per fandom im in-- that being said rn its scarian :P

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

pretty much all of my dsmp wips honestly. i may surprise myself someday, but for now i just have zero urge to actually finish any of them

What are your writing strengths?

like my pal karliahs im gonna rip these from the comments ive received 😅😅😅 but id definitely say imagery is my strongest skill!! i have a very strong imagination, and tend to see fic scenes as movie scenes in my head which i then transcribe into written format. id like to say im also really skilled at characterization and realistic dialogue that captures character voices very well!! and frankly i just love emotional realism so much i cant NOT write it, its always leaking into everything i do

What are your writing weaknesses?

i tend to get a little too funky and abstract with my descriptions sometimes-- that can work for some scenes, but grounding everything so that it feels more real and makes actual sense to the reader is something i often have to do on the second, third, and final passes

also to every person who has to crack open a thesaurus to understand what i write, i am so fucking sorry😭💥💥💥💥💥💥💥

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

no thoughts beyond if its not a language you're proficient in you should probably get that checked over by a native speaker, just in case :P

Quiet...But Loyal (Teen Wolf X Mute!Reader) - Chapter 1

September 25th, 2013 Japan, The Yukimura Reserve

Y/n was now 16, but still as mute as ever, while her sister Kira was 17. The Yukimura family was in their home in Japan, when Ken suddenly yelled for the girls to come downstairs.

"Y/n! Kira! Come downstairs, we need to talk!"

Both of the said girls walked out of their rooms at the same time, their looks saying 'Oh God, what did we do?' and they both walked downstairs together. Their mother and father had been sitting on a couch in the living room, both waiting for the two girls.

"Come, sit." Noshiko said, gesturing to the empty couch in front of her and Ken. Kira and Y/n sat next to each other, glancing at each other before looking at their parents.

"What is it?" Kira asked curiously, while Y/n tilted her head curiously.

"We are moving soon, more likely in the next month." Noshiko said, being straight forward and bland.

'WHAT?!" Kira said, extremely shocked by this information, while Y/n just looked happy in general to be moving, she didn't really care much since she didn't have a lot of friends. Kira was the one who had at least some friends, Y/n would normally just skip school. Yet she somehow managed to have straight A's, and the only classes she didn't skip were English and Art. Her parents knew about it, but they didn't care much since she was still getting good grades, but they told her that by next year she needed to do better.

"Yes, your father got a new job opportunity and it was in Beacon Hills, California at their local high school. Since we are moving, we decided we would transfer you guys over there as well." Noshiko said.

"But what about all my old friends? And why do we have to leave Japan?" Kira asked, whining slightly.

"Come on now Kira, it won't be that bad, and plus you get to make some new friends, and you have a phone for a reason sweetheart." Ken said, smiling.

Y/n looked at her family, specifically Kira, and signed 'Besides, it's not like we had many friends, and I know you do but I don't. It would also be good to try exploring new places and meeting new people, this could be good for us, come on Kir.' Y/n signed, smiling.

"Yeah, what your sister said, and this time maybe you could try making some new friends too Y/n." Ken said. That made Y/n instantly start shaking her head no, smile dropping immediately.

"Yes sweetheart, and you better try making it to class. This is a new school sweetheart, and we cannot afford to let you skip as much as you did. I understand that you get picked on, but maybe this new school will be different, and you can actually make some friends. Give it a try, but if it still doesn't work then stay in with your father during break and lunch, so that way you don't have to face anyone." Noshiko said. This made Y/n think for a second. It was true, Y/n did get picked on quite frequently since she was mute, and her family knew it too.

They tried everything they could, talking to the office, switching schools, but nowhere seemed like a good fit for her. Kira, having a feeling that Y/n needed some comfort, reached her hand out towards Y/n, and smiled at her. This made Y/n feel just a slight bit better, but she was still anxious, she didn't know what Beacon Hills was like, and she hasn't stepped foot in America since she was adopted by the Yukimura's.

"Maybe mom and dad have a point, let's give it a try, and if things still don't work out, then we can try something else, but I will try to protect as much as I can Y/n/n." Kira said, putting her hand on Y/n's shoulder.

"Better yet, I'll be there too. Nothing will happen this time, and I will make sure of it." Ken said.

Y/n hesitated a bit more, and after some thinking, she finally nodded yes, deciding that maybe this was different. At least she hoped it was.

But oh boy did she hope, maybe a little too hard.

October 27th, 2013 Beacon Hills High School

Y/n and Kira were now at the high school, and they had been in Beacon Hills for about three weeks, but they haven't quite started school yet since the semester hadn't started, but now it had, and they had to go to their brand new school now. Kira was extremely nervous, since she knew she was most likely going to have to make some new friends. While Y/n, knew that she was most likely going to stick in her father's classroom during lunch, and keep to herself, no matter how much of a bubbly and bright person she was to those she knew, she understood that being at a new school was going to be hard, so she would wait to at least try and put herself out there.

The two girls were at the school now, and they were becoming Juniors, and going into the first semester. Normally Y/n would have been in Sophomore year, but she got bumped up a grade so she was with her sister. Yes, it meant more school work, but that didn't bother her, as she was used to doing a lot of work.

When the bell rang, the two girls were already in their fathers classroom, and then they took their seats in the back, Kira sitting in front of Y/n. Teens started filling up in the room, some chatting with their friends from the previous year, and some just sitting down.

"Hello class, my name is Mr. Yukimura and I will be your new History teacher this year. Some of you might know my two daughters, Kira and Y/n, or you might not since they never brought a friend home yet, or even socially interacted with anyone." Ken said.

Those words made Kira bang her head on the table, into her arms, while her sister who was behind looked up from her book, her face holding an awkward expression. Kira slowly lifted her head up with an awkward smile, while Y/n looked around at everyone with a shy look. She really wanted to dig herself a grave and put herself in it right now.

"Yep, that's them. Anyways, moving on with today's lesson...." As Mr. Yukimura kept talking, the class took their attention away from the two girls, except for this one boy, who had dark brown hair and brown eyes. He kept staring at Kira, sometimes glancing at Y/n, but mostly keeping his gaze on Kira, and Kira stared back awkwardly. Y/n looked between the two with curious eyes. Her gaze landed on the boy before returning back to her sister. After a moment it clicked, and Y/n immediately looked back down at her notebook. That boy was staring at her sister with doe eyes! Y/n took a note in her notebook, "Note to self, pretty brunette boy was staring at Kira with heart eyes."

The boy finally turned away after his friend in front of him tapped his desk with a pencil to get his attention. Kira returned to listening to her father teach, while Y/n sat there thinking, but she was also taking notes too. She was thinking about what this new school was like, and about that boy that was staring at her sister, she would have to get his name sometime. She has a feeling she was gonna see him again soon.

She had a gut feeling however. Why did she feel like something bad was going to happen soon?
