🎀 listen to non-lyrical music (jazz, lofi, classical, etc.)

• in which y/n is hurting because of cramps but doesn’t want to interrupt trevor.

trevor had been playing video games on call with his friends for hours now. you had no problem with him doing so, you even told him to go. you didn’t want trevor worrying about your menstrual problems ‘cause then he’d leave all his friends just to lay and cuddle you all day.

of course you wanted the cuddles but you also didn’t want your loving boyfriend to be sitting all day when he could at least be somewhat productive.

yet, as the hours went by, the pain in your stomach got worse. the medicine you had taken an hour ago proved to be useless as you laid in bed with your legs curled into your chest and stanley, yours and trevor’s golden retriever puppy sprawled out right by your head. his little breathing was heard as you cringed at the feeling in your whole body.

trevor was heard outside the bedroom yelling at his friends as they played god knows what. because of this, stanley’s eyes opened tiredly and he yawned, clearly annoyed at his fathers antics yet at peace with his mom. “should we go to trev, stan?” you asked your puppy, whom you treated more like your son then just a dog (even though in your opinion, a dog is never just a dog).

stanley’s eyes widened more as his floppy ears popped up at trevor’s name coming out of your mouth. you carefully got out of bed, carrying stanley in your arms as you walked to the bedroom door and pulled it open.

you walked into the living room where trevor was currently on a waiting screen, laughing with his friends on call as he set up for the next round of whatever it was he was playing.

“trevor?” you called out to your boyfriend. you let stanley down on the couch and he immediately ran to trevor who picked the puppy up and showered him in kisses.

“hey babe, what’s up?” he saw your pained expression and muted himself on the call with his friends. you out your arms around the bottom if your stomach in discomfort.

“i don’t want to stop you from playing with your friends but im on my period right now and i don’t feel well.” you cursed at yourself for your hormones acting up as your voice cracked and tears welded in your eyes. trevor shook his head and brought you to him, laying you down on him carefully and kissing your cheek.

he immediately put his free hand on your stomach, the warmth easing your pain a little “baby don’t say that, i’ll always stop what i’m doing to help you. no matter what it is.” stanley joined you and trevor, laying right next to your stomach.

“hey guys, i gotta go.” your boyfriend said to his friends. they spoke a few more words till he hung up and his whole attention was then on you. you tried to blink away the tears but they kept stupidly coming.

trevor wiped away your tears then kissed you “why are you crying, baby?”

“sometimes i hate being a woman. this pain is stupid.” you laughed. trevor let out a little chuckle and held you closer. stanley laid his head on your stomach and looked up at you. you almost lost it at his cuteness and blew a kiss to stanley.

“well i know you can handle it, girl. this ain’t gonna break you. i got you baby, don’t worry. if i have to, i’ll be in this exact same spot every day for that time of the month just to tell you this all over again.”

you smiled wholesomely at trevor. younger you would have never thought you’d be in this place, happy with a loving boyfriend and even an adorable puppy. you didn’t deserve trevor. you brought your boyfriend into a passionate kiss on the lips before laying your head on his chest.

“wanna put something on?” he ran his fingers through your hair with one hand as his other let go of your stomach to grab the remote. stanley took it as his job to help your stomach, laying himself more on top of it.

you hummed quietly in response to trevor. for you, he put on gilmore girls and his hand was quickly back on your stomach, his other continuing to play with your hair. a little while after, he heard soft breathing from you, indicating that you were asleep.

trevor carefully picked both you and stanley up, taking his sleeping girlfriend and their sleeping puppy into their bedroom where he resumed his previous spot cuddling his girlfriend. “love you baby.” trevor mumbled before kissing your forehead and joining you to sleep.

It’s the best time of year (in my opinion) and dressing Coquette/embracing the Coquette lifestyle in the colder months is one of the best things about this aesthetic.

Here’s how to be coquette in Autumn/Fall: ♡

THE COQUETTE FALL WARDROBE: (I’m doing a desperate blog post on this but here are some essentials to get your wardrobe going) Oversized sweaters, long sleeved tops, oversized cardigans, pleated skirts, jeans, long skirts, tights, leg warmers D.M’s or Mary Janes, a tote bag.

Try and ROMANTICISE SCHOOL. We’re now officially in “back to school” season, and romanticising school is a great way to get through it (I have a separate blog post on this coming soon and have also made videos about it!) but just think… Early morning’s, drinking coffee in bed and reading, getting up early to study when it’s still dark outside and everyone’s still asleep, reading on your breaks in school, listening to music on the way to and from school… ahhhhh perfect <3

Drink Coffee! (If you don’t like Coffee, drink warm drinks like Tea, Hot Chocolate etc) in pretty mugs and coffee cups. Try and start a mug collection!

Study more. This time of year seem so much more motivational to be studying in. Every night, set aside a designated time. Light some candles, make a snack, get a warm drink, put your headphones on, get a blanket and get studying <3

Start an “Autumn Journal” fill it with beautiful pictures of Autumn, leaves, doodles, pictures of you and your friends from this fall. Then decorate the front of it with Autumn leaves, ribbons, bows and lace <3

Bake! Baking is such a coquette activity especially this time of year. Invest in an apron, & try baking some really Autumnal treats, such as cinnamon rolls, pumpkin pie and heart jam cookies! (There are LOADS of recipes online for loads of cute Autumn baking treats)

Watch Autumn movies and shows to get you in the mood! Gilmore girls (ofc), over the garden wall, You’ve got mail, when Harry met Sally, Dead poets society & Harry Potter are some of my faves <3

Make a “Coquette Autumn” playlist and fill it with Lana (ofc) Taylor Swift (Folklore & Evermore are on top) and beautiful classical music you can listen to when studying. I actually have my own “Coquette Fall” playlist that I will link and you can listen to right here!

Decorate your bedroom/space for Autumn. Invest in some light Autumnal bedsheets, pink brown & beige blankets and throws, fairy-lights, candles, pillows, a bed canopy, seasonal garlands. Anything that is going to make your room feel like an Autumnal Coquette Princess sanctuary <3

READ. Read every chance you get. Reading more books this time of year is just so much more magical for some reason. You want to be that person who is always seen reading, beauty & brains. Read whatever you like! Try and pick up some classics if you want to challenge yourself or something with Autumnal cozy feels. You could even try the “Rory Gilmore reading challenge” but this might take a while…

Use “Rory Gilmore” as inspiration for this time of year! Rory is such a good role model (in some aspects) she’s comfy, but cozy and cute with her fashion, she’s incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable and always pushes herself to exceed. Try doing your homework or assignments as soon as you get them, drink coffee and wear oversized cable-knit sweaters, then take an Autumnal walk to feel like Rory

Keep an “Autumn Diary” and every night before bed, kiss the pages and write/reflect upon the day you have had. (Listen to classical music whilst you write, it’s so relaxing!)

Create COZY Morning & Night routines. This way you will be motivated when you wake up, and relaxed/happy when you go to sleep. Getting into a routine is so important for a productive day <3

Go to a coffee shop, get a coffee or hot drink, listen to classical music in your headphones and read/study! (Bonus points if your wearing an oversized sweater)

Try out some new Autumn hairstyles for school. Adorn your hair with Autumn coloured ribbons and bows

Look into some “Autumnal self care” activities. This could be as simple as purchasing a new pumpkin hand cream or updating your entire skincare/beauty care routine with new Autumn scents, colours and products. Now we are coming into the colder months, our skin and body’s “well being” is so important!

Take up some Autumn hobbies. (Crocheting, painting, flower pressing, baking etc) all are such beautiful and sweet hobby’s, very cozy and perfect for this season!

Take LOADS of Autumnal walks. Around your city, your school, where you live. Collect Autumn leaves and flowers when your walking to later press into an old book on your vanity, and use them in your journal <3

Try a new Autumn makeup look. The coquette “Doe” eye makeup is so perfect or this time of year, and experiment with Browns, Beige’s and coppers in your eyeshadow

Drink Pumpkin spice latte’s from Starbucks and read whilst your getting your coffee

Keep applying lipgloss/lip balm throughout the day, hand cream and moisturiser of an evening, this weather makes your lips and skin dry-up like crazy!

Invest in some new pink or brown, cozy Autumn pyjamas (make sure they are warm and cozy!)

Have a signature Autumn scent (Miss Dior, Chanel?) something deep and dark for the colder months <3

Update your Autumn handbag/purse/schoolbag and fill it with all of your cold weather, studying, school and Autumn essentials! (I’m making a separate post on this soon)

Eat soups, Pumpkin pancakes, oatmeal, hot- chocolate’s, homemade cookies and bread! All are such Autumnal foods <3

Yowza! Okay folks. Yes. I heard the news. That there’s a One Tree Hill reboot in the works.

Here’s the biggest snag of all: it’s not a done deal yet. Just because it was leaked to Production Weekly means squat. That’s Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton’s attempt to drum up interest so that Netflix would actually buy it. That’s why there’s no comment from Netflix and WBTV. It’s not a done deal.

And given they only have two leads and a mediocre guest star attached to it, it’s not looking good. Plus One Tree Hill basically wrapped up their storyline. It’s not nearly as popular as Gilmore Girls or have a cult following like Supernatural.

Chaos Machine Production is only attached as an investor, not to produce. Jensen also said he wasn’t involved in anything outside of Countdown, The Boys and Vought Rising—which means this is solely Danneel’s work. Which, as we know, is not a good guarantee—she thinks producing is easier than acting and we know the poor disaster that happened on the set of The Winchesters. She’s only attached at all because of Jensen’s name. Not hers.

This is making waves as Hilarie and Sophia hoped it would, and maybe—maybe—Netflix would do the reboot. But I doubt it.

Plus, the fans aren’t happy either…

Here's an interview with Toby Ascher where he talks about the production of the Knuckles series. Here are some highlights:

- From the beginning they made the decision to slowly roll out the game characters, so they could each be introduced in an organic way.

- One of their favorite things about the first movie was the "wild card/straight man" relationship between Sonic and Tom. With "Knuckles" the idea was to make a buddy comedy with two wild cards, where neither is necessarily the straight man.

- The series is inspired by 90's comedies like "Happy Gilmore" and "Kingpin". In the second episode Wade says "I'm Munsoned out here in the middle of nowhere" which is a reference to Woody Harrelson's character in "Kingpin", Roy Munson.

- They like showing how every entry in the franchise is affected by the events of the previous one. The destruction to San Francisco from the first movie led to GUN being created. And in the series we see how all the rings and quills that Sonic and Knuckles left around the world in the sequel are being collected and studied by GUN to make weapons.

Love Quinn dating someone who's a really picky eater

Warnings: referenced eating disorders, I think that's it??

Love is a lot more observant than most people give her credit for, so I think she'd recognize your pickiness right away

Making other people food is her love language, so she'd probably invite you over to her place or maybe even Anavrin's kitchen as one of your first dates so she can find out what your favorite meals are and make them accordingly

You know how in the first episode of season two she took Joe to all those different food places in LA so she could make him the perfect roast chicken after? That's how dedicated she is to finding out what you like

She keeps a mental (or maybe even a physical) list of all the things you like and don't like, textures that bother you, what your safe foods are, what you're open to trying, what's completely off limits, ect.

If you're the type of person who always orders the same chicken tenders and fries off the kid's menu at any semi-fancy restaurant you go to, she's more than happy to order it for you if it makes you feel embarrassed (and she's not afraid to chew someone out for making you feel bad about your eating preferences)

She makes it her personal goal to make sure you eat something at least once a day, just to be sure you're getting the proper nutrients that you need. Love knows that some pickiness when it comes to food can stem from some type of eating disorder, so she always gently encourages you to at least eat something small even if you're not very hungry

If you feel better eating with another person, then she'll always take her lunch breaks with you so you guys can eat together. If you'd rather eat alone, she'll check in on you just to make sure you're okay but other than that will leave you be (and of course she makes you lunch everyday, what kind of girlfriend would she be if she didn't?)

Even if you only eat the same five things on rotate, she still keeps the ingredients for said meals stocked up in her house so she can always have something that you'll want to eat (and if you ever fall out of interest with any of those things, no worries because she can just use the leftover products for Anavrin)

If you're ever having a day where nothing seems to strike your fancy, she'll take that as a challenge and makes it her personal mission to find at least one thing that'll spark your interest, even if the serving you eat is super small

No matter what your preferences are or what kind of struggles you may have with food, Love will always be understanding and supportive, doing whatever she can to make sure you always feel comfortable and safe with eating the food that she makes for you

Walker's Series Finale Was An Emotional End Of An Era For Jared Padalecki, And I'm Bummed All Over Again

Spoiler alert for the last-ever episode of Walker on The CW.

Walker has officially come to an end in the 2024 TV schedule after four seasons on The CW, fortunately without any massive cliffhangers beyond what would have happened with James Van Der Beek. It was a pretty happy and hopeful ending, with Walker surrounded by loved ones as they celebrated Auggie's graduation. The family (including Geri) even headed off on a vacation at the end, with one of Cordell's final lines packing a punch: "Yeah, I'm ready." Jared Padalecki may not have been as ready, and the final credits rolling on Walker marked the end of an era for the actor... and had me flashing back to what bummed me out about the Supernatural finale years ago.

Why Walker's Finale Was The End Of An Era

While the finale was the end of the Walker era for everybody involved with the show, this was a much bigger deal for Jared Padalecki, and not just because he was both star and executive producer on the drama. This show's finale marks the first time that the actor ended one show on this network without having a new starring gig on The CW lined up next. He had a key role on Gilmore Girls (which he reprised in 2017 for Netflix subscribers with the A Year in the Life miniseries) from 2000-2005, followed by Supernatural from 2005-2020, then followed by Walker from 2021-2024.

This is the first time that he's not set for another WB/CW project, and even though he pitched a way to return to playing Sam Winchester, fans shouldn't count on him coming back on the network. The end of Walker is the end of a professional era that lasted Padalecki nearly a quarter century.

Why Walker Was A Blast To The Supernatural Past

For all that Supernatural ended after fifteen seasons with Dean getting an anticlimactic death and Sam eventually dying as well, I've always leaned more towards Sam and Dean getting a happy ending rather than an unhappy one out of the 2020 series finale. At the very least, we got two versions of "Carry On Wayward Son" in the episode, and what Supernatural fan doesn't love that song?

And one would think that Supernatural would have a more satisfying finale than Walker, since the whole team knew before Season 14 even finished that Season 15 was the end, and the final two episodes were actually delayed in filming due to the COVID-19 pandemic production shutdowns. The Walker team had already finished filming the episode as a Season 4 finale rather than series finale when the cancellation happened. Supernatural had more than a year to plan the ending, but Walker's ended on a happier note.

1/100 days of productivity - 21/sept

hello hello, finally started the 100 dop to hold myself accountable and check on what im doing with my life lol.

so, today i woke up awfully early bc of a nightmare, which usually just ruins my entire day, but i used that time to study a bit.

so i review the material from yesterday's class (quantum physics) and re did all exercises + some extra ones, and i still remembered everything i understood it even better than yesterday

then i had class, which was kinda awful bc we were working on Matlab and im so done with matlab, it's literaly draining the life out of me [dont get me wrong i like coding, but last semester we used matlab for the first time in the most awful class, with the most incompetent professor, so, dont love it]

and then i had lunch with my sis which was great, and now im watching gilmore girls sksksk.

Also, the the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes trailer came out, and the PJO series too, they both were amazing, btw. Cant wait to watch both of them.

Now im planning to revision a bit for today's class, but tbh im already happy with what i did so far, since ive already catched up with this week's classes, so maybe ill just clean up my bedroon and read

I FINALYY STARTED MY SEMESTER Y'ALL

I wish I was always this productive. The class gave me a boost of serotonin and I have done so. Many. Things. I had to stop me to prevent being burned out so quickly.

But for real, I'm so fucking happy. This is all of the things I managed to do today:

Woke up early (with chronic fatigue 10:30 am is still a difficult hour for me)

Ate breakfast and organized all of this semesters assignments on notion

Went to my first class (usability of interfaces) and had lunch meanwhile

My new printer arrived so I printed the notes from that class, highlited it and then made flashcards

Like omg those are so many things. What am I, Rory Gilmore?

Got a secret boss and he is so cool and epic

Before, Gilmore was Employee #108. Like every other employee, he was happy worker and blissful in his ignorance.

Until one day, he was randomly selected by a strange someone, and soon discovered the horrible nature of his world.

He slowly became miserable, snarky and unfriendly as his life, and himself, slowly deteriorated. Despite many attempts to cheer him up and help his productivity, he was soon called into his boss' office for a serious discussion.

Such discussion ended in Gilmore finally snapping and attacking his boss, stabbing his eye out. He was soon fleeing from the authorities, running through the rainy streets and alleys until he moved in just the wrong way to end up clipping out of bounds, into the void on the outskirts of his world.

He chose to remain in this void, to remain safe from the authorities and to separate himself from the cold, non-understanding world of his. But this isolation slowly wore away at his sanity, and he wished, begged, pleaded for a way to stop the pain of his torturous existence.

Then one day, the Lightners came along, and with it, a long-awaited opportunity...

+ first and foremost richard was way more hurtful to lorelai then emily was. especially when they found out christopher got sherri pregnant- richard lashed out on lorelai. idk it pissed me off

+ everyone blames rory for dean cheating but it takes two to tango, he could’ve & should’ve said no they were both in the wrong and lindsay didn’t deserve that.

+ i know we ALL agree lane got a shit deal but they really screwed her over. not only did she get pregnant the first time she and zack slept together but she really wasn’t ready to be a parent and i feel like the writers glossed over that and made it a joke. poor girl was miserable

+ rory and christopher, let’s discuss. i know all about having a shitty dad, i mean mine is a world class asshole but christoper, he deserves the worst. i feel like the writers didn’t really divulge on rory’s daddy issues ie., needing validation from men (hello dropping out of yale because mitchum didn’t think she was all that great) and never being happy in any relationship. it’s sad really, i feel her pain.

+ everyone likes to say how amazing lorelai was but dog on rory?? like rory was a product of a teen mom raising her ALONE i can’t even imagine how hard that was. rory was the way she was because lorelai was more a friend then a parent.

+ in addition to the previous one and kinda contradicting, lorelai actually showed up when she needed to. she really loved and provided for rory. going to her parents for money, when she knew it would come with a catch, and supporting rory to get her into an ivy league school??? she had flaws and both she and rory were messes but lorelai did the best she could. + now for this one… yes, i love and adore jess will every fiber of my being, however he had too many issues to be with rory when they were younger. like yes rory had her own issues but she didn’t know how to cater towards him and be the person he needed in that season of his life. however if the truly reconnected it would’ve been magic, there’s a reason rory cheated on every boyfriend with jess they should’ve been endgame.

+ once again jess was JUST A KID!! having to deal with his alcoholic mother shipping him off to crazy town- of course he was pissed he got the raw end of the deal.

+ my bby tristan deserved so much more, i wish they would’ve brought him back a bit later and made him into a fantastic addition to show.

+ if dean and rory stayed just friends i would’ve actually liked him. tbh i really liked his and rory’s friendship.

+ we can all agree that rory and lorelai were a bit self absorbed however the show is literally called gilmore girls. it’s all about them, they are the main characters of course the storylines are going to revolve around them.

Hmm, now why might that be?

Understand that I grew up with Garfield... We're focusing on that because I have no idea what Furiosa is. I love Garfield. But I am 41 years old. And Garfield came out into syndication in the funny papers in 1978, meaning some of the lingering references, much like in the series Cathy, which came out two years earlier, were already dated as I was growing up. Tropes about dating and feminism, dieting, and so on, were very much a product of their time, and did not at all remain contemporary as the years went on.

There was also the animated series Garfield and Friends, done well before CGI had taken over all things animation, which first aired in 1988 and rolled through 1994. Basically my young childhood; that would have taken me from kindergarten to sixth grade or so. And there are people my age out there, quite a few of them, who have kids already in high school; we are now separated by nearly an entire generation.

Simply put, kids these days did not grow up with Garfield. At least, not in the iteration that made him a household name. They don't read the funny papers, nor did they grow up doing so. They are not clamoring to, and are in fact probably quite confused as to why they would want to see a generic computer generated blob who has an inexplicable penchant for lasagna. 20 years ago, you could have maybe pulled this off on the nostalgia train, packing theatres with 20 somethings out for a laugh, but for those of us who grew up with this universe, it's like the news of Happy Gilmore 2. We are not joyfully looking forward to reliving our youth, but rather mourning the desperate search for more money and actors' need for relevance which is turning a beloved vignette of our past into the next embarassing box office flop. For crying out loud, Adam Sandler is pushing sixty! What's next, Billy Madison 2? After his successful prostate surgery, Billy decides that life is short, so he's gonna go for his bachelors degree???

So my point is... hollywood has utterly pumped the last pump of running out of ideas. Everything remotely good has been sequeled, prequeled, and rebooted to death; the dead horse has been beaten into a fine powder. And this has been going on for some time, several years now, one bust after another. I used to love going to the movies, but I couldn't even tell you what this year's alleged blockbuster hits are supposed to be.

I touched on this before, either on here or my seldom-updated LJ, people turn to entertainment to be entertained. Not to be lectured to, not to be given a social justice lesson. They want to see actors who fit the role, not an academy award-pandering grab bag of ethnic and sexual checkboxes. Especially when you're dealing with an established universe, where things like race, gender, how people's voices sound, are already familiar to the legacy audience. Having Garfield played by, oh hell I don't know, Queen Latifah let's say, it's going to ruffle some feathers. Not because Queen Latifah is a bad actress, but because that's not what Garfield sounds like. That's not who Garfield is. And I'm not saying they did that in this case, I don't really care to look, it's an issue that is indicative of the problems with Hollywood today. Maybe Jon is a closeted gay, his lack of ability to get the ladies stems from his latent crush on his next door neighbor. Maybe Nermal is a transsexual, he thinks he's actually a cute female puppy instead of a kitten. And on it goes.

The only thing Hollywood has done in the last decade is destroy beloved characters and franchises, while shoving over engineered diversity and flash in the pan social justice messages down the audience's throats. And I think people are tired of being disappointed. Ultimately, to sum it up, Hollywood is telling the people what they want, instead of asking or listening to them. And that is not a winning formula. Who, for example, was sitting and lamenting that a comic strip cat from the 80s hasn't been put on the big screen as the must-see memorial weekend blockbuster??? Oh right. Nobody. 🥔

HUBIE HALLOWEEN REVIEW

(Netflix 2020)

Sandler plays a grown man child once again! Hubie is constantly the butt of every joke in the town of Salem. Scene after scene we get things being tossed at him, people scaring him rather easily, and of course that leads up to the fulfillment of an underdog story. Hubie is being set up to save the day from the beginning, we know exactly whats going to happen. That didn't stop me from laughing.

The predictability is forgivable in the sense that we are groomed from the beginning that this is going to be a classic Happy Madison production. Right off the batt, we get Ben Stiller reprising his role (or playing a version of it) from Happy Gilmore. Delivering the line, ‘you're living in my world now.’ Instantly, being the Sandler fan that I am, I couldn't hate this movie. In my opinion, this movie isn't that great, but better than most of his other Netflix originals. To most, that isn't very high praise. To me, I got what I came for.

Sandler reunites a familiar cast. The call backs from his past movies doesn't stop with the cameo from Stiller, we get sprinkles and Easter eggs from Billy Madison, WaterBoy, Grown Ups, and of course the family by the last name O’doyle is ever present. Hubie is nicknamed Pubie by most of the town, and spends his Haloweens making sure the neighborhood is safe. We get to watch as the town terrorizes the poor man. The town’s famous mental patient (Steve Buscemi), is his new neighbor, which plays an important part in the story. I think.

Sandler lives with his mom, (June Squibb). This mother/son dynamic reminded me very much of WaterBoy. Sandler pretty much is “The Waterboy” in this film, to be honest. Like I said, the movie is designed for Happy Madison fans. We get the whole crew. Rob Shneider, Buscemi, Colin Quinn, Kevin James, Dan Patrick, and even Saquille O’Neal.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The first half hour of this movie is just a good time. Thats my opinion, and I stand by it. The set up with all the little gags and neighborhood kids, had me cracking up. Eventually the movie succumbs to bad pacing and a plot that doesn't do anything. The comedy starts to dry thin, and becomes numbing towards the end just like a lot of the other Netflix Sandler movies. It becomes even harder to understand Sandler’s mumbling in the second half, I found myself turning up the volume just for his dialogue.

The movie is harmless. Sandler said it himself, his comedies sometimes benefit by a little weed smoking, or even glass of wine. Its absolutely true. This movie is way better stoned, I could imagine. ha. I’m sure this movie will soon be forgotten, but I appreciate Netflix coming out with fresh Halloween material this year.
