Yowza! Okay folks. Yes. I heard the news. That there’s a One Tree Hill reboot in the works.

Here’s the biggest snag of all: it’s not a done deal yet. Just because it was leaked to Production Weekly means squat. That’s Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton’s attempt to drum up interest so that Netflix would actually buy it. That’s why there’s no comment from Netflix and WBTV. It’s not a done deal.

And given they only have two leads and a mediocre guest star attached to it, it’s not looking good. Plus One Tree Hill basically wrapped up their storyline. It’s not nearly as popular as Gilmore Girls or have a cult following like Supernatural.

Chaos Machine Production is only attached as an investor, not to produce. Jensen also said he wasn’t involved in anything outside of Countdown, The Boys and Vought Rising—which means this is solely Danneel’s work. Which, as we know, is not a good guarantee—she thinks producing is easier than acting and we know the poor disaster that happened on the set of The Winchesters. She’s only attached at all because of Jensen’s name. Not hers.

This is making waves as Hilarie and Sophia hoped it would, and maybe—maybe—Netflix would do the reboot. But I doubt it.

Plus, the fans aren’t happy either…

That's nowhere near my list of shows to watch. I'd love to know who thought this was a great idea.

Oh my lord. I can't help but wonder if Hilarie actually paid Collider to do this article, because it's all nonsense. It's, well, to quote Damian Holbrook again:

They literally have nothing, but constantly try to sell that they have something.

Joy? James? Chad? They all said they're not coming. They weren't even consulted, spoken to, when this broke out. That was upsetting. That was wildly unprofessional.

That was clearly Danneel... who learned absolutely nothing from The Winchesters disaster. Who ignored how the industry gave her, Jensen, and Chaos Machine Production a side-eye because what they did was unacceptable.

Fans of Jensen (and Danneel) tried to brush it off, saying he had every right, because... reasons. One I heard was that Jensen purchased the IP of Supernatural, which was around $200 million dollars. That... isn't possible for him. Jensen's well-off but he's not that wealthy. All he did was get permission from CW/WB and Kripke's blessing (and Kripke thought Jensen had spoken to Jared about it) to do The Winchesters.

Then it was... tried to be brushed off as it was his and it didn't involve Sam so why did Jared have to be involved or consulted. Or. Or. Or. All ridiculous excuses.

We're seeing it again with One Tree Hill reboot. I can smell Danneel's bad influence all over this. Sophia and Hilarie must be desperate if they even listened to her.

Naturally, when the fan backlash happened, Sophia and Hilarie tried to pass it off as a "leak" to Deadline... which, no, that wasn't it. It got listed--by them--on Production Weekly, a legitimate trade magazine. Deadline saw it, reached out to them, and got the news that way.

What also irks me is how Hilarie keeps trying to sell this as closure.

Closure doesn't have to be done by going back and "reclaiming" One Tree Hill. If it alienates the main cast, demonstrate your selfishness and greed, that isn't proper, healing closure.

But here's the thing. Closure doesn't have to involve that. Closure could be taking that pain and turning into a learning lesson. Hilarie's a producer? Cool. Ensure that there's safety on your sets, that if there's bad behavior it's called out and fired, punished, blacklisted, you name it. Make sure there's intimacy coordinators for sex scenes. Don't force your female leads to do "sexy" Maxim photoshoots or the male leads to do equally humiliating photoshoots elsewhere. Protect your cast, protect your crew.

Closure can be living the best life and showing your abuser you've moved on. Doing this? Is showing that Hilarie and Sophia can't move on. They're showing that Mark Schwahn still has power over them.

By trying to be "empowered" women, they end up harming the people they claimed to care about (the main cast, Joy, James, Chad Michael Murray, etc) and winning additional side-eye from the industry. I really don't think this reboot will happen precisely because of how they've been handling this.

And oh look: "whenever". Netflix isn't biting. The fan backlash demonstrated it's not welcomed. Netflix isn't stupid. They're gonna see all the backlash, the fan noise, and go "Yeah... this isn't worth the money."

CW/WB passed on it. Amazon passed on it. Netflix is passing on it. I imagine none of the others will also buy it.

Once again: Dead On Arrival.

With her experience in producing....🤣 She wants to do it right....How will you do that without the leads of the OG show? Yeah, sure 🙄

And why do you bring up Jensen? His only task IF this sequel would be made, would be to sign on the dotted line as co-owner of CM. Nothing more.

5. X-Men DR

I don't think that the X-Men are unpopular but the ones i have seen are either based on the 2000's movies or the first class movie while my DR is based on the movies from 2014/2016/2019

4. 9-1-1 DR

For how popular the show is (i mean you have to have a big public to have 8 seasons and survive a network change) i have ever only saw 2 other people with this DR maybe people don't like the idea of risking rheir lives everyday with all the crazy that happens with the main group.

3. 9-1-1: Lone Star DR

Considering i barely see any shifting content for the main show i didn't really expected anything for the (sadly less popular) Spin-off and as far as i know its just me and another one person here on Tumblr who have any interest in this universe

2. The Winchesters DR

Supernatural spin-offs never work. Considering this is anorther spin-off with a super small fandom i'm like 100% sure my DR is the only one for this show

1. Scorpion (2014) DR

A TV show with 4 seasons but with no fandom. When i try to search it on here i can only find 5 posts about the series (i don't think anyone watched a episode of it since 2018) so i consider it my rarest DR ever due to the complete lack of fan-work for them

Before Joy’s book came out, I remember reading somewhere that Sophia and Hilarie were annoyed at Joy for writing about the show in the book since allegedly the three of them were going to write a tell-all together about the show

And this might have been one of the reasons that they had a fallout and honestly after reading Joy’s book, she didn’t even really mention a lot about the show and only mentioned it to talk about how she felt so disconnected or to talk about how the cast/crew all knew she was a part of a cult

so even after the book, they honestly could have easily still written a tell-all about the show without all this drama like Sophia and Hilarie clearly overreacted (and especially Hilarie because girl needs to get her eyes checked when those book covers are in no way similar lol)

The feeling while watching Lucas Scott

Every voiceover I hear of "The Comet" just makes facepalm about what an idiot Lucas Scott is. This dipshit wrote "And his world would be whole again, and his belief in God and love and art would be reawakened in his heart." and then claimed "it has nothing to do with Peyton. It's only science fiction and it has to do with a literal comet. It's not a romance"

This dipshit that said "Your art matters. That's what got me here" to Peyton Sawyer who owns a "Comet" car... Wrote a book about how a man saw a "comet" and then that comet left him and then the comet returned and he believed in love and art again, not long after Peyton/her comet returned to Tree Hill. Which coincidentally was when he became inspired to write this book. And then he has the nerve to act like everyone is absolutely insane for thinking it has anything to do with Peyton. I'm just rewatching One Tree Hill and I still can't believe they put so much effort to bring Brooke and Lucas back, literally giving us hints that they are the true ones, same as Peyton and Jake....just to threw it all away. Peyton being fine and cheering for Brooke and Lucas. F it, let's bring the mess back.

Peyton's mom saying that Peyton's heart is broken for the true love (Jake). F it.

This kind of drama annoys me. Why all of the would do the same mistakes, AGAIN?

I do not buy that Lucas just ran from his feelings for Peyton, they spent whole summer together, they had enough of time to realize they love each other without dragging Brooke into it.
