Sorry but Jiang Cheng's birthday being on the 5th of November is absolutely incredible to me as a British person. Today is the day when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up parliament and failed. Happy birthday me. 5 things about about 33, and 5 things for 34 :

- it wasn't Abruptly Old, I just spent most of 2023 with mild long covid. Woops.

- I was, however, probably drinking too much. Woops again.

- I can do a people facing job just fine. I can also leave a job that is bad for me just fine too.

- I am Officially an aunty now, but actually I've been an aunty for years.

- I made the shitty call to put down my dog. It sucked, but it was right.

- here's to a more stable job

- and finally doing another book (or 2. Or 3)

- more tattoos, more stupid hair.

- auntying my heart out.

- worrying less and being more indulgent with my art. There is always an appetite for honesty in art, even if it's just honestly dumb and fun. Less about pretension v entertainment and more that writing or drawing shit that actually makes you feel something is a better foundation for complex art.
