Another dark and brooding figure dressed in black and in hella need of a bath. Not that he's going to pick that battle today. Already lost the battle for an extra hand with restocking the pantry, and taking inventory. Marking up a clipboard with what they're low on and what they could use to barter if bartering could stand a day without losing a limb or spilling blood.

Murphy's just here for the credit, getting his attendance checked off and a you tried golden star sticker of achievement. A little more than what Jasper's doing at least.

"It's everyone else's fault but yours, right?" he clarified, stepping back and into the light where Murphy stood by the entrance, scribbling out a new count for dried goods.

"Sounds like a you problem," he pointed out, shoving the clipboard against the other's chest.

"Count."

He's tired. Left to pick up the slack where other's fell short. Hell of a position to be in, really. Sitting to the side as he supervised the world's most grumpiest cat. Monty doesn't know which of the three is worse to be stuck with. Jasper is a hot mess. Octavia is one step away from bathing in the blood of her enemies.

And Murphy's just plain ol' stubborn! Not without reason, at least. But playing amicable is turning out to be more than a pain in the ass than he ever thought it would be. Being nonconfrontational is coming back around to bite him in the ass

Inkwell Isles always host a Mother’s Day festival each year, but switch which isle is hosting. Elder Kettle usually does a good job keeping the boys occupied. Plus they’re old enough to not be too broken over their non-existent parents. Can’t miss what you’ve never had before.

Ever since Creon came into the picture (for however long she’ll be stranded), Mugman has been chewing on the thought about mothers. Especially with Mother’s Day looming around the corner. When Mugman tried to ask Cuphead for his thoughts, Cuphead naturally brushes it off. He doesn’t want to think about it since the idea kind of bothers him too. Especially since Creon isn’t going to stay permanently forever.

Creon was hoping to distract the boys from the “Mother’s Day” fair by taking everyone to one of the Mainland states where she visits during expeditions. Unfortunately, she didn’t take into account that Mother’s Day is celebrated there too.

Oops.

The entire day, Creon is internally freaking out while trying to diver the boys’ attentions away from the constant reminder of the holiday. She fails miserably.

Mugman runs off to avoid the fair while Cuphead is forced to follow. The boys argue and Cuphead says some hurtful things about how Mugman is a spineless pushover who needs an adult to make decisions for him. So when a creepy lady offers to take in two lost children to join her family for tea, Mugman accepts out of spite; since he’s a “spineless pushover who needs an adult to make decisions for him.” Mugman can be a spiteful little $h!t. And Cuphead is forced to tag along.

The boys are introduced to an errant Mayweather member who has turned an abandoned schoolhouse into her “home” and luring/ kidnapping children to play “Mother.” Mugman continues to listen to his “temporary” mother, to spite Cuphead. Cuphead is creeped out by the entire situation.

Also points to people who get the reference in the 3rd batch.

Meanwhile, Elder Kettle threw his back amidst the chaos of losing the boys for just a few minutes. Creon was really hesitant to let Lucy/Devil tag along, but she was out of options. Especially with recent news about missing children cases in recent months. Creon and Lucy/Devil track down a possible trail the boys left.

Creon is horrified and petrified at having to hurt a bunch of kids, even though most are brainwashed. Nearly half were turned into plant zombies, while others obey out of fear, or in process of being turned. Lucy/Devil refrains from torching their assailants at Creon’s request. He resorted to mercilessly stabbing the feral plant kids. Lucy/Devil is perturbed at how much the situation has shook Creon, and a teensy bit concerned at her grief. Creon has had too many murders during her time of service, which includes children.

Eventually the feral Mayweather lady was put down via fire. Lucy/Devil was able to shield Creon and the boys who were directly in the blast range of Cuphead’s improvised bomb. Lucy/Devil has unintentionally developed a habit of watching Creon’s back. Sadly about half of the children were rescued. For the ones that were zombified and then put down, the other families were at least given closure.

The boys are able to enjoy the rest of the day and their trip with Elder Kettle and Creon.

near death experience… He got too cocky with his friends, filming Youtube Videos of them free running. The jump was something that he was never going to make, he knew that. But when he was double dared by a friend for $100, who was he to say no? Showing off, he thought he was going to make it. Clearly, he didn't cause when he was awake in an overpriced hospital bed. Of course, after being given some expensive meds and given the all clear from his near death experience he was curious if he'd get powers like he had heard about. That's when he started experimenting in an abandoned building, hoping for something badass like wall-crawlin, enhanced jumping or agility, something that would already enhance his natural talents. When he learned about his power Smoke Materlization, it was time to hit the science textbooks and learn about smoke properties and where to find them in New York City.

💨Malakai's power is Smoke Materialization. He is unable to create smoke, however, he is able to use available smoke around him to be shaped into different solid constructs and objects that appear to have a smoky like consistency .His constructs are able to hold his weight and can become solid forms. He needs a high level of concentration to create the form, the more complex a form tends to be, the more smoke that is needed to bring it to existence. His creations are under his control and influence they can be dismissed when he blows the smoke away or they are "beaten" or "attacked" by others. When his constructs do disappear they do let let out a loud "poof" sound that can effect the use of stealth.

💨One of this main constructs he metalizes are small platforms that help him more from building to building with ease. He tends to make constructs for escape, nothing as extensive as a car or motorcycle, as those shapes are far too complex, so he sticks to simple constructs like a skateboard.

💨He can get pretty creative with his materializations from creating duplicate items, like keys and passes. If they actually work that would depend on the attention to detail with the constructs. Some of his bigger constructs are sometimes just very showy like dragon like smoke monsters, that are basically their for aesthetic, not actual creatures that would attack for him- some would assume this is a stronger version but merely would be used as a distraction. He can create replicas of items such as food, but it may look like food does not mean that it will have the same genetic makeup or nutrition of food. He's tried and it is just basically a smoke after taste leaving you more hungry than before.

💨Due to him relying on smoke around him, his constructs will inhabit different strengths and forms that are dependent on the type of smoke used to create the constructs. New York is filled with wonderful smokes and gases, each with it's own unique property. Such as flammable gases, chemical reactions, acid smoke, corrosion..

drawbacks / vulnerabilities…

💨Sadly due to the extent of his power relying on smoke, his body is not immune to how the smoke can effect his body. He is constantly breathing in the toxic and poisonous air with damage his lungs.

💨Kai as a result of his powers has developed Asthma and is often faced with Asthma Attacks where he is struggling to breath. Unfortunately for him he now needs to carry and inhaler around with him most places that he goes. Especially, needing to take it easy with his Parkour Adventures.

💨He suffers with a constant wheezing cough that sounds very much like a smokers cough. And he has never smoked in his life. So it is pretty damn frustrating coughing all the damn time. It is something he is learning to get use too.

💨He just wants to help people and give back. Hates big corp way of doing it and wanting attention. He basically runs a hero for hire business cause he wants to give back. Sometimes for a price. Sometimes from the kindness of his heart.

5. What sports do you play/have played? I hate playing all sports (and most games, too) so never played, even though I've had complete strangers give me lectures about why I should have played basketball (since I'm so tall).

6. What's the first thing you notice about people? I don't really know, but if someone changes their hairstyle, I immediately can't recognize them, so maybe it's that?

8. Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings! I actually can't watch even slightly scary movies— too much for me.

9. Any special talents? Is reading quickly a talent? Also being able to memorize stuff.

11. What are your hobbies? Depends on the day, but reading, drawing, playing piano, biking, walking, singing, birdwatching, and writing (both fanfic and other stuff) have all been pretty constant in my life.

12. Do you have pets? Nope! I prefer other people have them so I can enjoy the pets without any of the responsibility.

14. Favorite subject in school? I always loved theater! I'm sad that I rarely have time for it anymore.

I don't really have a dream job— my dream is to do what I'm already doing: be able to work on my various projects (my art projects and the volunteer work I do, as well as my paid employment) without worrying about money, and I'm amazed to say that so far it's working out pretty well.

Who are you named after? (Famous actor) - that's my dead name, and it sucks bc it's been misspelled my entire life because OF COURSE, they named me after someone who spells a common name with an 'A' instead of an 'E'. Why the fuck!? My name, Kit, was chosen by me -- age 7, because A League of Their Own was my favourite movie. And I was obviously already vibing on a lesbionic level.

Last time you cried? I dunno, Friday? I cry like once a week, at least, it's healthy! Get out all my frustrations in one meltdown, then I'm alright for a few days.

Do you like handwriting? Yes, yes, yes! Handwriting things makes me remember them better. I handwrite tons of plot work when I'm planning fanfic. I also prefer written to-do lists vs digital.

Favorite meal? Sundog Diner's french toast. (RIP to my favourite diner in the world, whose absence has left a gaping hole in my heart)

Longest relationship? Meh, my first wife and I were together six years. But that was a HORRIBLE relationship. Doom Them and I have been dating somewhere around five years, and by far, the longest relationship I'll ever have (bc they are my forever <3)

What the heck does "remes" mean and why is it relevant to Mega Man OCs??

It's the Hebrew word for animals that "creep" upon the ground as used in the Bible to describe things like lizards and insects, especially in the Book of Genesis.

It's meant to play off how a majority of my OCs have overlapping themes of either reptiles, gastropods, arthropods, or (on the other end) biblical themes as with the GSNs (with Dirge's status as a 'locust' bridging them).

It is simply a nod to my own religion and my habit of working it into my creative space; it is in no way meant to indicate political allegiance or any condoning of atrocities committed by those wielding that language.

1. what does your muse smell like?

Not all that much, honestly! Sylvie doesn’t have any true distinct smell to them, so no fancy ‘smells of forest’ descriptors ... not naturally, anyway. Of course, their scent really is just context based; if they washed their clothes recently or took a bath, they might smell of the soap they used, or if they were recently cooking they’ll smell of food. To those sensitive to elemental energies / auras, one might say they can smell of Dendro, but that might also be person specific to what they attribute it to.

2. what do your muse’s hands feel like?

Decently soft, because they control their own form ( and keep up with hygiene and self-maintenance ) their hands don’t bear any roughness to them despite being a bare-handed claymore wielder and traveller / adventurer. Well maintained, trimmed nails, clean hands.

3. what does your muse usually eat in a day?

Honestly? There is no set food type for Sylvie. Obviously, it is human food, but they’re the most unpicky eater ever so they’ll eat pretty much anything. Because food is not a true necessity for them, they have no set time or habits really tied to eating. If need be, they will consume greenery / natural food, but it is rare, and honestly they’ve fallen out of relying on it.

4. does your muse have a good singing voice?

God no. Sylvie cannot sing to save their life; although they have a rich voice that varies in tone, they are tone-deaf as all hell and usually sing quite off-key. They do put their all into it if they have to sing, but it’s just ... not good.

5. does your muse have any bad habits or nervous ticks?

Hm ... habits is hard to say ... I dunno if unfiltered speech counts as a bad habit, since it is context dependent. Otherwise, they’re mostly ticks which show up in the form of:

Nape rubbing

Foot tapping / leg movements when sitting

Fiddling with things they can reach with their hands ( hair, clothes )

Pacing ( though only when stressed )

The need to chew sometimes for oral stimulation ( which does mean sometimes there is noise tied to it pending on what they’re using )

6. what does your muse usually look like / wear?

Fashionista ... well, they want to often look very fashionable, but because they’re out and about, especially on adventures, they need to dress simple and easy to move around in; their loosely tucked blouse, knee-high hiking boots, and waist-high pants are their usual go-to because it’s the most comfortable outfit that still caters to their dressing style.

7. is your muse affectionate? how much? how so?

Oh god, super super affectionate, they are touchy and huggy and squeezy; very physically affectionate to all people they care and love, and they feel no awkwardness in doing so ... problem is oft that they forget that other people aren’t quite the same.

8. what position does your muse sleep in?

On their left side, curled up usually, or on their stomach super splayed out. Their left side is where the scar isn’t prevalent; although they cannot feel through it, it was a habit made from their reawakening to avoid it. Both positions also allow them to keep their horns out if they need to, or fall asleep with them out.

9. could you hear your muse in the hallway from another room?

Yes; they are loud in both their steps and voice, so usually you hear them well before you see them in any form. Sylvie doesn’t really see much of a need to mask their approach or presence, unless they need to, otherwise they don’t control their own natural volume.

Cycle 2 | Sector 7, Medusa Station

I undid my straps when I saw the habitation rings rotating around the station.

A beam scanned my ship as I approached. Before I could even react, a landing clearance code was issued by a robotic voice over comms. The sequence identified the station as Medusa Sector. It even patched me through to hangar maintenance to schedule repairs.

I asked Hangar Maintenance if they thought any Medusa Agents would want to look over Everest; seemed like someone should look into why this guy went rampant.

"No, and we're limited on our waste facilities. Just space him before you get too close. I don’t want to deal with a fried cyborg."

Alright Everest, into the airlock. I ripped off the name tag from his flight suit before I sealed the door. One day you're a spacefarer crossing the system, the next day you're a rampaging cyborg trying to crush a ship that just came out of jump, and after that you get unceremoniously flushed out of an airlock.

The Tradehub was busy here, and of course I got stuck behind the guy who wanted to haggle with the Weapons Broker. It was no wonder why the broker introduced themselves as Ink; covered with tattoos of plants and animals from some sylvanian planet I've never heard of; Orcus. They were cute though, maybe I'd take the extra time to try haggling too.

I wanted to sell off the counter guard I found on Everest. Ink wanted to trade me for a carbon dagger to defend myself with, commenting that it looked like I could use one. I tried to explain that in my hands, hacks are deadlier than any weapon. I don’t know if they believed me but they did give me directions to the wiredoc while the serum transfer was pending.

I quickly spent the serum I'd just gotten on some extra replacement parts for my ship. I figure if I take care of my ship, my ship will take care of me. Damn, I need a name for that old smuggler rig, every other ship out here has a cool name.

The wiredoc was a young guy named Lirio. I totally unloaded about being attacked straight out of jump and then having someone teleport onto my ship, trying to kill me. He listened as he rebandaged some of my cuts and scanned for any internal damage. He even seemed to care about what I was letting out.

"Do you meditate, Jade? You should try it. We all ended up in this galactic dark age because the humans before us expanded too far, too fast, and lost their balance among the stars. They eventually tore themselves apart just trying to survive! The cyborg…"

"Everest"

"Yes, Everest. He lost his balance between man and machine. Not that cybernetics are evil, but the way you described it, I don’t think it was Everest in there trying to kill you. You need to find balance in here, or you're going to get sent spinning across the stars by everything you bump into out there."

He had tapped a gloved finger against my temple as he finished sharing his wisdom.

Maybe Lirio is wise for a young guy, but he also claimed that he was born an old man and gets younger every day.
