It’s so bizarre that I don’t qualify as “poor” and therefore deserve no benefits because I have a smartphone and a roof over my head but me and my cats have been starving for a week because both our foods went up unexpectedly, the USD went down all January and we can’t pay for it.

This is so so gross but my sinuses are draining I think cause I've had a blockage in my throat for days now and I just brushed my teeth and (because my gag reflex is awful) I gagged hard enough during that to get a chunk out. I could breathe for a minute, but it's like having a stuffy nose! It comes back so fast. I made myself some ginger tea to hopefully help, but tbh I wish there was consumable Drain-o 😭😭 this sucks

to add on to the philosophy of 'you're not unattractive you're just not your type' -

sometimes, you gotta see yourself in other people first in order to comprehend your own beauty

this works both in body positive and in gender affirming ways of course. who among us has not felt better about the things that cause us gender dysphoria after seeing someone else w the same features absolutely own it?

but today i'm mostly thinking about being at the grocery store and seeing the beauty in a stranger's exposed belly as their skin folds when they reach around for something and their croptop rides up, hips turning and revealing pale stretch marks.

like. oh. yeah my belly folds like that. my hips look like that. and they're beautiful.

or when a cashier at the gas station laughs at a joke you made and when they smile it's all pink gums and little peeking teeth.

and you think wow. what a lovely smile. i smile like that.

idk. i just think that falling in love with the mundane beauty of the people around you can sometimes help remind you of your own quiet beauty.

forever thinking about how we need so much more body positivity

imagine growing up in a world with no beauty standards. or with appreciation for all kinds of beauty because beauty is in everything. not being 15 and looking in the mirror and hating everything about yourself because you dont look like the beauty standard at all. wanting bigger boobs or no boobs or a bigger ass or a smaller one, wanting to be taller or shorter, wanting straight hair instead of curly or wavy hair, wanting perfect skin etc. and then you grow up with those insecurities and even if you get over them you still get reminded every time you glance in the mirror. and you stop yourself from criticizing your body again because you know it never ends well, but that voice is still in the back of your mind whispering to you. wouldnt it be better if you looked in the mirror and saw beauty in how you already are and how you were before. if you didnt spend so many nights crying over your skin or your hair or over the way your body looks. i want to see people being happy with how they look or at least see them make changes because they want it. not because of beauty standards or others telling them youre too fat, youre too thin, you should do this differently. i want to see someone look in the mirror and love everything about themselves because beauty is in the imperfections and thats what being human is all about in my opinion.
