time for my monthly mp3 player propaganda post!
yall. don't fucking stream music off of youtube or spotify. they pay their creators shit. the most generous estimate i could find was artists being paid $1 for every 200 streams (0.5¢ per stream), and unless you're listening to songs on an album thousands times in total, it helps tremendously more to just. buy their albums or subscribe to a patreon-like service for them
mp3 players are laughably inexpensive (you can get a decent one with bluetooth for like $40-50 and you can get away with even less if you forego some features), many of them are drag-and-drop, no ads, decent enough sound quality for the average person, unlimited skips, track selection, regular play and shuffle, playlists, being able to shut off your screen, and more importantly, ALL OF THIS IS AVAILABLE WITHOUT A SUBSCRIPTION. i've always been an avid hater of subscription models. there are some things where it's understandable, but you shouldn't lose access to basic QOL features just because you can't or won't fork over $10-15 a month.
"b-b-but $50 is so expensive!" WRONG. $50 (which is more than i've EVER spend on a single mp3 player) is the equivalent to 5 months on spotify premium without discounts. if you can afford that, it's worth investing into a device that can last you literal years if you get a good one and take good care of it
"but i don't wanna carry around another device!" fair enough, but these things are small enough to fit in tiny pockets (mine fits snugly in the watch pocket of my jeans) and are typically light enough to not be burdensome. if you can carry around your phone, you can carry around an mp3 player
"what if people think i'm weird for having outdated technology" let them. it's worth it in my opinion if it means i get to listen to music ad-free. the most I've ever gotten was "wooooah bro's got the dinosaur tech" and i just thought that was funny personally
"but what if the artist collapses without a constant stream of money!!! i'm not supporting the artist!!!!!" companies try to pay as little as they can get away with to artists. most of that money goes to the CEO and other higher-ups.
"but piracy is bad!" Piracy is a Crime. However, downloading youtube videos/audio for your own PERSONAL, NON-COMMERCIAL USE and NOT REDISTRIBUTING THEM is legal (generally, in the US, check your laws, i am not a lawyer, not legal advice, blah blah blah). besides, i never said you had to pirate your music. in fact, i encourage you to buy the albums of and support your favourite artists in other ways. some artists might even provide links for people to download their songs for free in high quality anyway
not gonna link products just in case someone thinks i'm a shill. but literally just look up "mp3 player" on your search engine or shopping site of choice and find something that doesn't look like it'll fall apart if you breathe on it too hard
seriously guys. if you listen to music more than like a few hours a week, and you don't get all of your music from livestreams or radios (although mine can connect to AM/FM radio), consider investing in an mp3 player. i tried out using one regularly in fall of 2021, and I haven't looked back. don't let companies drain subscription money from you

I work in retail and I wear hijab so I put a headphone in my ear to stay focused when doing my job and just generally having some background noise . Halfway through my shift I get moved to a messy area because the tills are quiet and so I look through my Spotify to find something to listen to when I see that the magnus protocol page has posted something along the lines of "Magnus Protocol Fluff …..) and me being the naïve person I was thought oh wow they've probably had the voice actors do some nice little domestic head cannons or fanfics so I click on it no hesitation. Now context where I work you shouldn't even have your phone on you let alone a headphone in your ear so I had found that if I put it on longer things I'm less likely to get caught. I click , now while listening through the adds my 2 of managers come and start working on a display right in front of me and its around this time the adds stop and the music begins. At first I think "omg more Mr Bonzo lore great" but then it repeats and repeats and repeats, still I think , wow this must be the theme song for the show and we'll get audio from the actual in - show show so I wait for it to end , I look at the clock , 15 minutes have now gone and by then I had realized my fatal error , the fate I had doomed myself too , my managers still very much doing the display , I try and think of ways to turn it off without alerting them , but they would immediately be suspicious if I started rummaging in my pocket for too long , maybe I should excuse myself for the toilet but I had just gone and they wouldn't let me go again , so I decide to just ride it out. I'm not gonna describe the mental state I was in after it finally finished. I miss the girl I was before that day.

Affettuoso- With Feeling (Part 3)
Pairing: Bucky x Pianist!Reader
Set after the events of TFATWS: In an effort to start over and make a home in Louisiana, Bucky meets a friend of Sam’s who ends up being his landlord. With only a driveway to separate them, he finds that he’s not the only one looking for a fresh start.
Series tags/warnings: Slow Burn, Eventual Bucky x Reader, Mentions of Domestic Abuse, Canon Level Violence
Part 3 Word Count: 3k
A/N: Can you tell I don't really have a posting schedule? lol. I also introduced links to the specific pieces I had in mind. I'm using soundcloud because I don't think everyone has access to spotify. Trying to be reader friendly! This can be read with or without the audio, as I do my best to still convey the thought in the fic. Though if you can, I highly recommend :)
Thanks again for all your support! Every heart and comment motivates me and is just so wonderful
Read Part 1; Masterlist
---
A few days had passed since the night that Bucky had overheard your troubles. It had been quiet since, and you hadn’t left the house. The curtains were opened during the day and closed at night, the only telltale signs that you existed.
Doesn’t she have to work? Bucky thought to himself. He speculated all the different possibilities as he used the riding mower around the property. Maybe you were an heiress? You seemed pretty down to earth though. Or maybe you sold a patented idea for a ton of money. All this land had to have been expensive. And to not request actual money from him?
He eyed up the width of the gate for your fence. The riding mower couldn’t fit so he would have to use a push mower for your fenced off yard. He hadn’t seen one in the garage. Maybe the old shed at the back of your yard had one? Bucky parked the mower in the garage, taking a moment to make a mental list of everything. Depending on if he found anything in the shed, he might need to buy a few basic tools and a chainsaw for that fallen tree.
He walked out of the garage and over to the shed. The leaves were changing color and it brought a whole new atmosphere to the secluded forest area. Opening the gate of the weathered white fence, he looked around to see if you were out. No signs of life. Entering the yard and closing the gate behind him, he started walking to the back. Halfway through, he stopped at the fire pit. The grey stone blocks were starting to crumble, with a few of the bricks having fallen off. It would probably be really nice if he got a little bit of cement mix and filled in the gaps. Bucky made another mental note.
The shed had no padlock so he was able to open it with no problem. Amongst the cobwebs and bags of soil, was an older green push mower that looked like it might work. He gave the gas a pull and got no response back. Looking underneath, Bucky saw what might be the problem. He’d have to take a closer look later. Putting the lawn mower back onto its wheels, he pushed it across the yard, pausing when he saw movement though the glass doors of the back patio.
Craning his neck to avoid the glare, he saw you sitting at your fancy full keyboard. The way the piano was against the opposite wall, your back was to him. You had big over-ear headphones plugged into it, so he couldn’t hear the sound but he saw the flurry of keys being pressed down. Whatever you were playing, you played passionately. Hands and arms gracefully moved despite the speed at which they were moving. Enhanced hearing coming into play, he heard the muffled clicks of the fluttering keys. Suddenly, you pressed down forcefully, holding whatever chord you had struck as your shoulders gently relaxed. A deep breath. Arm creating a graceful arc as if you had studied ballet, you pressed gently on another chord. And another. Bucky counted three more times you did this before you let your hands gently fall from the keys to your lap. Several moments passed before slid the headphones off of your ears to sit wrapped around your neck. Another deep breath. This time as the breath escaped you, you stayed slouched, head tilting up to stare at nothing on the wall.
A buzz broke Bucky from his trance.
“Call me, new mission” The text from Sam on his home screen said.
He pocketed his phone, glancing through the glass one more time. There you still sat.
Unmoving.
---
The roar of the plane’s engine was just loud enough to drown out Bucky’s thoughts without being annoying. If it weren’t for the adrenaline of the recovery mission under the cover of nightfall, he probably would’ve been lulled to sleep. Beside him sat Sam, looking on his phone for the exact coordinates of the politician they had been sent to rescue.
“Here it is. I’m assuming there’s some sort of underground base since there are no heat signatures anywhere within the radius where he was taken. It should take us about ten more minutes before we’re directly over it.”
Bucky hummed in acknowledgement.
Sam raised an eyebrow. “Earth to Bucky.”
“What does your friend do?” Bucky asked suddenly, sitting up straighter and turning towards him.
“… What?”
“What does she do? I’ve never seen her leave the house. Is she okay?”
“If you’re asking why she doesn’t leave the house, it’s because her contract doesn’t start for a while. She’s technically still supposed to be in physical therapy but she hasn’t found a place yet. You know, your whole routine gets messed up when you move.”
“For her shoulder?”
Now it was Sam’s turn to look at Bucky, trying to decipher the motive behind these questions. Bucky shifted his weight in the chair, antsy under the scrutiny.
“Never mind, I-”
“Yes, for her shoulder.” Sam said, cutting him off. He stopped himself from asking why Bucky wanted to know. There was an awkward pause before Bucky explained himself.
“I just wanted to know. I’m not used to seeing people so…”
“Similar to yourself?”
“I was gonna say isolated but fair point.” Bucky admitted. Sam leaned back in his chair, looking straight forward.
“She’s been through a lot… I know you heard some of it.”
Bucky blinked in surprise.
“I realized the window was open when I could hear you drive off.”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to-”
“It’s alright, it’s good that you know.” Sam said as he held up his hand to cut Bucky off.
“She’s just trying to get a fresh start. She’s in a raw emotional space and in the meantime is a little skittish. Just like someone else I know.” Sam jabbed his elbow into Bucky’s side as he enunciated the last sentence.
“Okay, okay, I get it. I’m trying!” He shouted as he held one hand up defensively and using the other to block the second jab Sam was trying to get in. Sam chuckled and then stood up, grabbing a parachute pack and tossing it at Bucky, who caught it without even looking.
“Figured you might wanna try an actual chute this time.”
Bucky rolled his eyes and mouthed Sam’s words mockingly with a grimace as he put the backpack on. Clipping it into place, he joined Sam at the side door of the plane.
“She used to play in an orchestra you know.” Sam said wistfully. “The piano. That’s actually how we met. She had volunteered to play a small concert before the dinner. It really helped raise a lot of money for the VA.”
Bucky stayed silent, prompting him to continue.
“Then that bastard she was engaged to beat her and then shoved her down a set of concrete steps when she tried to leave him. It was like a month after we all came back. She was in the hospital for a while. Broken ribs, broken shoulder, and a nasty concussion to boot. Neighbor saw the whole thing and called the cops but the courts were so backed up and the case fell through the cracks. Wouldn’t leave her alone after he got out. So, I pulled some strings and helped her move down here on the fly.”
“… That’s terrible.”
Bucky didn’t know what to say or how to react. They stood in silence, taking a moment to pay a respect of sorts to the trials you have been through. Then Sam broke the silence.
“She just needs time to heal in more ways than one. But she’s strong. Resilient.”
Putting a hand on Bucky’s shoulder, he squeezed it lightly with reassurance.
“Reminds me of someone else I know.” Sam said, finishing the conversation and pulling his goggles over his eyes, giving Bucky the opportunity to take the compliment without feeling too on the spot.
Pulling the door open, Sam shouted over the wind.
“Ready?”
Bucky nodded. Sam jumped from the plane and deployed the wings, the shield shining in the moonlight. Bucky jumped right behind him, using the glint of the silver star to guide his descent as he followed the man that gave the shield its meaning.
---
You laid with your head down on the kitchen table, letting the last golden rays of sun warm the side of your face. You were exhausted from going to physical therapy, especially since today had been the first appointment. All the measurements, all the exercises, all the stretching.
All the questions.
“So, how did you break your shoulder?” the young blonde physical therapist asked.
“Ah, I… fell down some stairs.” You said, looking down at your hands in your lap.
She didn’t look up from the papers, instead just raising an eyebrow.
“You also cracked some ribs and had a concussion?”
“… They were concrete.”
She looked up from the papers at you, analyzing. Her gaze softened and she asked no further questions on how these serious injuries had been obtained.
“Let’s look at your range of motion.”
You had practically stumbled into the house, kicking off your sneakers and plopping down at the kitchen table. Minutes passed by as you regained your breath, heartbeat steadying. The house was slightly cold since you had turned the heat down this morning. As your sweat cooled, you wrapped your arms around your legs in an attempt to keep you warm without getting up.
The sun feels so warm… You thought to yourself drowsily, feeling slightly less lonely. The sun was a cheap substitute for the warmth of a partner…
---
You jolted upright, the kitchen dark and cold. Neck and shoulder stiff from the awkward position you had dozed off in. Feeling the dryness of your mouth, you got up, stretching your neck gently while you walked to the fridge to get water. Chugging about half the bottle, you squinted at the clock. You had been asleep for about forty-five minutes. Groaning, you put the bottle down on the counter and walked into the living room to close the curtains. Grabbing one in each hand, you went to pull them together when you hesitated, noticing that Bucky’s apartment was dark for the third day in a row. The sleek motorbike that was usually parked under the slight overhang of the garage was missing as well.
He was probably on a mission, right? Not that it was any of your business. You shut the curtains and turned off the lights before lightly padded down the hall, stopping to adjust the thermostat. The heat kicked on, sending a puff of cold air your way. You shivered as you walked with a quickened pace to your room, shutting the door and heading into the master bathroom, turning the hot water on with just a tad of cold.
Waiting for the shower to warm up, you leaned over the sink and looked into the mirror. Dark circles under your eyes. Small scar on the bridge of your nose. Running your hand through the roots of your hair, you felt for the scar where the stitches had been. When was the last time you had a haircut? Or put on some makeup?
Some higher being must’ve felt pity for you since the steam from the shower fogged the glass, preventing you from tearing yourself apart any further. Stepping underneath the warm stream, you let the warmth seep into your muscles, then bones, filling every fracture and break with a temporary sense of wholeness until the emptiness of your heart and home caused it slowly to drip out until it, along with you, was gone.
---
The next morning, you weren’t motivated to do anything. You lounged around the house, sipping on coffee and browsing on your phone for furniture, clothes, even sneaking a peak at some pianos. Wanting to invest in one you’d use for the next several decades, you had put off buying one until the money from your contract with the orchestra started in a month. You were still well off, nowhere near struggling and probably wouldn’t ever be unless you decided to buy a mansion (which was a no). You just wanted to be careful.
In the afternoon, you popped a pain killer and muscle relaxer in preparation for the few hours you wanted to practice. Thirty minutes went by and the ever-present ache in your shoulder calmed enough to let you practice with relative peace. Sitting on the bench in front of the keyboard, you pondered what you might play to warm up.
Hmm, maybe a Chopin prelude? Short, emotional, familiar.
Your left hand held the soft deep chords as your right hand softly flitted around the higher notes. Breathing in and out with the music, you tried to ignore the ache that start to surround your shoulder.
Playing the last few notes, you paused before reaching over to the bottle of painkillers.
---
Shortly after finishing up, you dragged a small table outside next to the wooden bench swing that was hanging on the porch. Bundled up in a soft sweatshirt, long-sleeve shirt, wool lined leggings, fuzzy socks and slippers, you brought out your hot tea, several blankets, a pillow, and a book you had been meaning to read for months. You were determined to do something besides practice, watch TV, and scroll on your phone.
You settled onto the bench, wrapping the blanket around you, nice and toasty from the layers trapping in the heat of a thorough practice session. The extra medication had really helped keep the pain at bay. Tentatively sipping the steaming cup, you closed your eyes to further appreciate the sweet tones of peach and honey. Setting the cup in your lap with one hand, you used your other hand to flip open to the first page.
---
Bucky hadn’t expected the mission to get so complicated. Finding the base was one thing, navigating in and out of the expansive maze was another. It took a few days to successfully get the target out and back to the embassy. He hadn’t properly slept during that time due to taking shifts with Sam. Not that it was any different from how he slept at home.
The sun was letting its last few rays bless the earth when he turned onto the driveway. Taking it easy on the gravel, he eased his posture and slowed the bike. He put pressure on the brakes as he made it past the final wall of trees that hid the water that was reflecting the last bit of color left in the sky. Rolling casually into a stop, he parked and let out a deep breath, shoulders sinking.
A stray bird calling out turned his attention in the direction of your house. The porch light was on. That’s new, he thought. Squinting his eyes, he saw a bundle on the porch swing. Was that you? Quietly walking over while taking his leather gloves off, he confirmed his suspicions. There you were, lying on your side propped up by a large fuzzy pillow. Eyes closed and breathing rhythmically. Scanning the scene, he noticed the mug on the side table, empty except for the used teabag. Your book was closed, the page you were on marked by one of your fingers. You must’ve fallen asleep while reading.
“Hey…” Bucky said gently. No response besides a small nose scrunch.
He repeated himself a little louder, squatting to be at eye level while gently setting his hand on your arm and shaking you lightly. You groaned this time, eyes fluttering open, taking a moment to focus. You squinted and pushed yourself up into a sitting position, losing your place in the book and attempting to blink the heavy drowsiness from your eyes.
“Bucky?” You questioned hoarsely as you met his eyes. He was still crouching so you were looking slightly down at him. Brow furrowed, you searched the blue of his eyes before looking around to see how dark it had gotten. As you turned your head back to him, he stood back up, scratching the back of his neck just to occupy his hands.
“It’s starting to get cold. I didn’t want you to spend the rest of the night out here.” He explained, choosing to look out at the water, now dark. When he turned his head back, you had also turned your head to look at the water, exposing the side of your neck, the tendons and clavicle accentuated by the strain. Bucky swallowed and your eyes met his, oblivious.
“Ah, thank you. I must’ve fallen asleep reading. I just started going back to physical therapy so I’ve just been so wiped… Anyway,” you said, dismissing yourself mid-thought. He didn’t want to hear about all that. “…did you just come back from a mission?” You eyed the diagonal cuts of leather on his jacket, noting the missing sleeve that exposed the glint of the metal.
“Yeah. I was gone for a few days.”
“Okay. I’m glad you’re home safe.” You mindlessly said, picking up the book and other various items strewn about.
Home safe. What an unfamiliar phrase.
As the words echoed in his mind, you had opened the door and stepped in, turning your head slightly to look back at him.
“Thanks again… Good night.”
“Good night.” Bucky replied, watching as you shut the door softly behind you.
Slowly walking down the porch steps, he crossed the driveway to the garage. Turning his head just in time to see the last light turn off in your house, he stood with his hand on the knob, meditating on the effect that one short sentence had on him.
Glad you’re home safe. Was this what it was like when you had someone waiting on you at home? The tired eyes and gentle smile. Would that be what it was like when he came home in the middle of a night from a mission when he had someone to share a bed with? Gently shaking them to let them know he was home? Or would he try to sneak into bed without waking them? He tried to imagine what that sort of intimacy would be like as he entered his apartment and then his room. Unzipping his jacket and tossing it over a chair, he stripped down to his boxer briefs and climbed into bed, wondering what it would be like if it was already warm.

Oi, Maite! Tudo bem? Como estás?🙂 *in English because of your followers*
Recently, I’ve decided to give a chance to digital books (mostly because of your blog and also because of 💸🤫. Z Library is a blessing). Not gonna lie, it took a while to get used to it and I'm not quite there yet, because I still miss the paperback experience. Did you feel the same? Also, are you an audiobooks person? If so, is there a z library sort of thing for audiobooks? Since I gave a chance to digital books, now I'm willing to try the audios even though I have zero confidence about my attention span in this case. 😅
B,
.🇧🇷
hii 🫂 i'm good, thanks
no, it wasn't hard for me because i genuinely think it's more comfortable (even tho i might mess up my sight eventually lol) cause i don't really like holding books 😳 like with both hands,, and i read a lot at night, lying down so yea, it's easier on my phone. i also like it because it's easier to take notes and find them. like, look at the amount of sticky notes i use when i read physical books 🥴 i really annotate everything hjash not necessarily things i'll post here but also details about the writing and such, and when i annotate ebooks it's soooo much easier to find the notes because they're all visible:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but if you find it too hard to get used to and you don't wanna spend money maybe try borrowing books from a public library if there's one near you <3
i'm not really an audiobook person. sometimes when i read classics i listen to audio as i read because, idk, classics can be difficult to get through. it's very easy to find classics on youtube or spotify cause most classics are public domain (i'm currently reading/listening to Great Expectations on spotify) but yea, apart from classics on youtube or spotify idk about any free site or app where you can find audiobooks.

FIVE ALBUMS YOU NEED IN YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW!!!
aka, My Top 5 of 2020, but I didn’t want to seem too retro!
Yep, I have a classic rock blog. Yep, I think that the best rock and roll in history is being made RIGHT NOW. And yep, ALL of it is being made by women.
(Shown at top, Nova Twins by Ant Adams [x] and The Tissues by Michael Espleta [x]. I was planning to make a collage of all my faves in concert, but  not all of them were able to play in 2020. Both of these photos are pre-pandemic.)
There’s been quite a bit of movement on this list, and all five of these have spent some time at Number 1 as the year has done (gestures broadly) All This™. Anyone looking for rock and roll is going to dig any of these.
Rocking out is just the start of it, though. Wrestling with my bipolarity and schizophrenia is tough on a good day, and there haven’t been too many of those lately. The plague has also taken its toll around me, with two family members dead and a third who’s doing better, but will likely never be all the way back. (Mask up, kids!)
I’ve written plenty about how deeply Taylor Swift and Phoebe Bridgers have moved me this year (and will do so again), but in those rare stretches where I’ve had enough spare energy to listen to music at all these days, I’ve mostly been looking for more than beautiful music. Heavy times need heavy lifting, and I find that in heavy music.
The five albums here have all helped carry me, pointing the way toward light.
1) BULLY, SUGAREGG
Alicia Bognanno is a force of nature as a guitarist, vocalist, composer, and producer/engineer. (While working on her degree in audio engineering at MTSU, she interned with Steve Albini, who remains both a fan and an admirer). A Nashville transplant from Minnesota, she’s still a natural fit in her home on Sub Pop: as heavy as Soundgarden, as hooky as Sleater-Kinney.
I was blown away hearing her searing honesty while working through her discoveries of her bisexuality and bipolarity (double bi!), and her triumphant roar lifts me out of my seat every time I listen.
Tumblr media
“She sings the hell out of [these songs], her voice fraying to the point of combustion every time she launches to the top of her range. This is phenomenal music for converting anger and anxiety into unbound joy.” ~Stereogum, Album of the Week
Also, check this fantastic interview with Alicia in the New York Times talking about what she’s gone through to get here.
TURN IT UP!
youtube
2) GANSER, LOOK AT THAT SKY
Ganser syndrome is a rare dissociative disorder characterized by nonsensical or wrong answers to questions and other dissociative symptoms such as fugue, amnesia or conversion disorder, often with visual pseudohallucinations and a decreased state of consciousness. ~Wikipedia #it me
‘Just Look At That Sky’ doesn’t presume to offer solutions; it’s an honest document of what it feels like to wade through anxiety, day by day, not a survival guide or handbook of answers none of us actually have. Whether or not you pay attention to this, Ganser are simply one of the most invigorating, exciting new bands. ~Clashmusic
I saw one very positive review compare Ganser to a cross between Fugazi and Sonic Youth, but I think they hit much, much harder than either of those. And as you can surely guess, I also deeply relate to their themes of mental illness and dissociation while trying to make it through All This™. But my god, are they TIGHT. This is a BAND.
Ganser has two fantastic lead vocalists, and on “Bad Form”, bassist/vocalist Alicia Gaines wrote the song for the voice of keyboardist/vocalist Nadia Garofolo. Alicia also wrote a FANTASTIC essay on the strains that making an album during a pandemic puts on the mental health of the entire band at talkhouse: “Writing, recording, reaching out, balancing relationships outside and within the band, I found (and still find) myself under-rested and agitated to no particular end. More than not doing enough, I was not enough.”
(If you can’t relate to that, I can’t relate to you, tbh.)
This video also does a fantastic job of showing dissociation. TURN IT UP!
youtube
3) THE TISSUES, BLUE FILM
“Blue Film” is a ten-song shot of dagger-twisting electro-(s)punk. It’s completely addictive from the very first listen. The tour de force is “Rear Window”, an art-punk masterpiece of slashing guitars and mad caterwauling. Copious doses of jaunty poetics and social commentary reward the earlooker patient enough to untangle Kristine Nevrose’s hysterical meowing about intergalactic salt shakers and hysterectomies, but I’m too emotionally invested to look under the hood.” ~ Sputnik Music
“Rear Window” is in fact my most-played 2020 track. TURN IT UP!
youtube
4) GUM COUNTRY, SOMEWHERE
It’s not all heavy! But even when I’m looking for something light and hooky, I need a bite, and Gum Country has done it with the kind of swirly, feeedback-laden wall of sound that Lush or Yo La Tengo would make if they lived in LA. (Recent transplants to SoCal from Vancouver, I do think that the sunshine has gone straight to their heads, in the very best way.)
Indie music nerds will know guitarist/composer/singer/front woman Courtney Garvin from The Courtneys, and she really does throw up a glorious wall of sound. I adore this video too! Sweet, swinging, fun -- and yes, the drummer is playing keyboard with one hand while slapping the skins with the other!
I mentioned earlier that all five of these albums have spent part of the year at #1 on my list -- I think that this one might have spent the longest stretch there. Like all shoegaze, even as hooky as this, the truth of these songs is revealed in VOLUME. TURN IT UP!
youtube
5) NOVA TWINS, WHO ARE THE GIRLS?
Now, THIS is heavy! Amy Lee (vocals, guitar) and Georgia South (bass) are fucking LOUD, and insanely intense. A mix of grime, hip-hop, metal, punk, and good old rock and roll, they’re a harder-hitting, more theatrical Prodigy, with a pyre of intensity that recalls the heaviest howls of Rage Against The Machine. Indeed, Nova Twins spent a good bit of 2019 playing heavy metal festivals and toured as openers for Prophets of Rage. (Tom Morello has been a fan and supporter from the beginning.)
As you may have noted in the photo at the top of this post, their musical audacity extends to visuals too: they design their own clothes, hair, and makeup, they art direct their own videos, and more. They impress the hell out of me, and I’ve been a huge fan since hearing their first singles in 2018. I’ll plant a flag and say that Georgia South in particular is the most innovative musician on any instrument in any genre right now, but they’re both absolutely monsters.
I’m honestly not at all sure that #5 is high enough for this, but I’m absolutely certain that after this video, you’re gonna need to rest for a little. LOL
“Taxi” is the story of two gleefully and creatively violent women shaking up the local crime syndicate as they use a vintage cab for their moving murder scene. This is the movie that Robert Rodriguez wishes he was making with Sin City, if it were combined with Blade Runner and The Matrix. And gangsters. And a snake.
Tumblr media
I’m gonna take your crown I’m gonna, I’m gonna bleed you out We demand it by the hour We devour, control, power
I’m gonna burn it down Even the, even the royals bow
So not the same kind of therapeutic work being explored on this rekkid, but you know what? Fucking shit up is therapeutic too!
Definitely take this full screen, and for the love of fuck, TURN IT UP!
youtube
SO. Not done with the best of 2020 yet? I’m sure not! A lot of my favorite songs aren’t on albums (at least not yet), so for an unedited list of everything I’m finding, check out my Spotify list, 2020: Shuffle This List! 268 songs and counting, over 15 hours, and not finished yet. I’m still checking out everyone else’s Best of lists (including yours! Message me links to yours!!!), so will probably be adding to this for most of 2021, too.
And for more banging tracks by women from 2020, plus a few 2019 gems that I’m still grooving to, check out my more thoroughly curated Spotify playlist Women Bangers: A Tumblr New Classics Jam. (You’ll see a couple of these tracks there!) I’m working on a YouTube playlist and an essay to properly roll that one out. I’m also still tweaking the ending, but the three dozen or so tunes there are definitely bangin’.
Tell me if you hear anything you dig here, and tell me what YOU’VE found! We’re gonna get through this together.
Yr pal, Timmy

Rules: Post ten songs that not many people know you love, or that you don’t listen to as often as your favourites. I was tagged by @penelo14 in this so here we go!
1. First song up is "If You Love Me For Me" from Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper. It's super sweet and I really loved it as a kid. And I still do. 💖💖
2. Another one is "Noble Maiden Fair (A Mhaighdean Bhan Uasal)" from Brave. This song really hit me when I saw the movie in theaters and it kinda captivated me. And made me tear up a bit. Younger me was set on memorizing the lyrics even if it was in a different language. (And my barely passable pronunciation was kinda funny. 😂)
3. I'm just picking random songs here so next is "Laval the Lion" from Legends of Chima. I, like many others, initially thought that the show was replacing Ninjago back when it was gonna premiere. I'm not sure whether I looked for the song before or after giving the show a chance, but either way I liked the tribal/jungle vibes it had.
4. Another song is "Chi" which is also from Chima. The flute near the end really captivated me, and younger me went nuts trying to find the song on YouTube but the soundtrack wasn't out yet (I think) so I was just hoping the videos I found wouldn't get taken down. But eventually I bought the album on iTunes when I got the chance.
5. "Touring the City" from Atlantis: The Lost Empire is another one I like. It's such a good song and it really captures exploring a city for the first time. (James Newton Howard is so good.👌🏻👌🏻)
6. Also from Atlantis is "The Crystal Chamber." It's so captivating and amazing and I just love Kida so much!
7. Yet another childhood favorite is "A La Nanita Nana" from The Cheetah Girls 2. I loved the Cheetah Girls as a kid and once again younger me was set on memorizing the lyrics even with my okay-ish Spanish 😂. The song also kind of reminded me of one of my grandmothers. It still does, actually.
8. Continuing to pick random songs, I'm gonna go with "Dragonsong" from Final Fantasy XIV, specifically Heavensward. The feels kinda hit me like a truck a bit late mainly because it didn't sink in until much later. BuT I CAN FEEL THE EMOTION AS WELL AS MY INCOMING TEARS BECAUSE IT'S SO DEEP. I love Heavensward. 😭😭💖💖 (Also the Distant Worlds version is AMAZING.)
9. I'm beginning to realize a lot of these are lyrical songs so I'll just fling another one into this. 😂 "Kiss Me Goodbye" from Final Fantasy XII was one that I was generally neutral towards 'cause my first thoughts had been "pop song here? After everything? Okay then." But after watching playthroughs of it about three times with @misstoodles and watching her play the game the feels finally hit me. T-T (Once again the Distant Worlds version is also nice.👌🏻👌🏻)
10. Aaand the last one for here is "A Song From Her Memory" from Final Fantasy IX. When I first heard this song while watching a walkthrough with Misstoodles I thought it was one of the prettiest songs I ever heard and it made me so relaxed. I love Garnet so much. 😭😭💖💖
BONUS (Because I keep thinking of other songs and I NEED TO EXPRESS MY LOVE FOR GARNET): "Dagger Cuts Her Hair" gets me EVERY TIME. I was literally tearing up at this part of the game AND I STILL DO. Garnet went through so much and I'm so proud of her overcoming all of it. I LOVE HER SO MUCH. 😭😭💖💖💖💖 (I reached the audio file limit but it's there on Spotify. T-T)
Sooo I'm tagging @misstoodles, @chirithy564, and anyone else who wants to do it! (I can't think of anyone else. 😐)

thoughts on the musicals y’all recommended!
tysm for all the recs! i had so much fun listening to them, i really appreciate it! always feel free to rec more :)
to preface, there’s no actual judging system. it’s all about the vibes. so, in the order that i listened to them:
the mad ones
i already made a post abt this one, but i have to mention it again. i’ve been listening to it on repeat. like. straight up on a loop.
i’m obsessed with this
the storyline is so put together, and you can really feel the heart of the show
the characters were well written (with the exception of the boyfriend tbh, i could have done without him), and i’m so fascinated by sam and kelly’s relationship (writers were cowards for making them not gay)
the songs felt super cohesive, and the repeated drum loop was super well integrated. the sound techie in me is fascinated by the way this show was put together, and i’d love to see it performed (like. fr. i was getting ideas for the design. which is always so much fun)
19.75/10
romeo es julia
holy shit this slaps
costumes were weird
but the music was brilliant
some of the captioned lyrics were ???? bad translation or bad lyrics??? but the sound was incredible so i don’t even care
mercutio and tybalt were spot on
the moms were GREAT. i LOVED their voices, like. could FEEL the emotions, even if i didn’t know wtf they were saying
pretty much everyone was like that, like idk what’s going on via words, but i def can feel it, which is the best kind of song
my mother didn’t like this one but whatever, she didn’t get to see the choreo that went with it so what does she know
the SET. the LIGHTS. the SOUND. the SET. the LIGHTS. the SOUND. chef’s kiss.
14/10
ordinary days
eh
i liked “favorite places” and “beautiful” a lot, but the rest of the songs were only okay
i wasn’t super attached to the characters and the singing was just. like. okay for me. i didn’t love any of them in particular
my mother also didn’t like this one, rip. she has a lot of opinions on musicals.
6/10
venice
oh my fucking god????????
not what i expected at all. right from the first lines i was like. 😲😲😲
like. this was so good??? wtf???? hamilton meets shakespeare meets the mechanisms meets les mis meets post-9/11 politics meets dystopia. i thought it couldn’t be done, but here i am, in awe
i was going to include some favorite lines but. it’s just all of them. ALL of them.
further confirmation that i’m in love with jennifer damiano.
also angela polk?? incredible
it’s weird bc it’s so clearly Not Broadway Music, but it’s also not trying to be, which i enjoy. i can see why some critics hated it (read some really funny reviews lmao), but i really loved the sound (haven’t seen the show, though, and that’s half of a musical, so maybe gonna try and find a bootleg)
18.99/10
count of monte cristo
damn from the overture this was. Intense. like. damn. i’m a slut for any dies irae sequence, so i was a big fan of that
that being said. gonna be real. i had no idea what was happening throughout the entire musical. it’s a pretty music-light show, so that’s probably why?
maybe it would make more sense if i watched a performance rather than just listening to the soundtrack??? idk. anyone got a bootleg?
thomas borchert has a nice voice. very distinctive. googled him to see where else i can listen to him. he was rum tum tugger. anyways. mad respect for this man
sonically, it didn’t feel like a very cohesive show? like it felt like there were a lot of diff vibes going around
lots of good songs for my evil musicals playlist though
11/10
once on this island (2017 revival)
ok turns out musicals are a lot better when sung by professionals than by sixth graders who think they can belt even tho their voices are still cracking
also turns out that stories can be much more complex and interesting-- and have much deeper themes of racism and classism-- when on broadway than when in a sweaty middle school auditorium in an upper middle class white neighborhood
funny how that works, huh
i’m still a little unsure abt it, and probably wouldn’t listen to it just because i can, but i definitely don’t object to it anymore
ty for making me give it a second try
hailey kilgore is brilliant in this
the singing in general is REALLY impressive and beautiful
12.68/10
death note
i cannot express enough in words how mad i am that i actually liked this
genuinely don’t know how to feel
i do think that i would get more out of it if i watched the anime, but it was still pretty easy to follow, just knowing the premise
idk who the cast is bc i found a weird shady playlist on spotify rather than a cast recording, but the girl’s voice (idk character names) was beautiful. “i’ll only love you more” was SO good
reminded me a little of jekyll and hyde? which? huh
also i’m now getting tik tok videos with audio from this musical can my iphone stop stalking me for ONE second
fucking unfair that this is actually a good soundtrack. the desire to find a bootleg is unholy.
14.87/10
35mm
why did no one tell me that alex brightman is in this!!!!
i listened to a few songs and really enjoyed them, but didn't get through the whole album lmao
but i did really enjoy what i did listen to, and i'm gonna come back to it
9/10
ghost quartet
i wanted to like this one. SO badly. i REALLY wanted to like it.
but i couldn't really get into it?
there were a few songs that absolutely slapped, but overall, it was just kinda. eh. which sucks bc i have heard such good things about it
i LOVED "the astronomer," "the telescope," and "lights out"
but i didn't get through the entire album
i'll come back to it eventually and give it another try, i think. i might just not have been in the specific mood for it
9.8/10

FIC: Diglielo veramente
Despite the title, which comes from Lucio Dalla’s “Canzone” this fic is in English. Written for Martino’s birthday and featuring what I believe to be the true present Niccolò made for him.
A sweater. A fucking sweater. A tight-fitting, flimsy, piece of… fabric, that doesn't even look that bad on him - it surely makes his shoulders seem wider - but… it's just not his style, you know?
Sure you do. And so should Niccolò, after a year and a half they have spent together.
He bets that he would have known what to buy Luai.
'Come on, don't go there.' Martino tells himself, while he picks on the sweater and stares at Nico. Who'd like to keep the party a secret - hence walking back to the car to call Gio - but hasn't taken Luchino into consideration. 'Yes, that's it. Focus on the party, instead. That's very sweet of him, don't you think? It's neither a grand gesture nor an especially creative way to celebrate you… but… Cut him some slack, Martino. You know he's ridiculously busy with Uni. Still terrified you might walk out again, the next time he screws up. Can you really blame him for not having the time and not being in the right frame of mind to come up with something unique?'
He can't, but he kind of does? And that's why he ends up making such a request as if he can really demand complete transparency between them from now on. As if his trust in Nico can truly be rebuilt on giving him third-degrees every time he's out with someone who isn't Marti.
He truly appreciates Nico's commitment to it, though. He doesn't shy away from giving him answers that he knows Martino won't like. Or that will ruin his carefully planned surprise.
He's still feeling kind of let down, however? And he does wish he wasn't an open book to Niccolò, because his own disappointment is getting to Nico as well… and the last thing he wants on his birthday is for his boyfriend to be sad? As though he had failed him, over something so trivial?
He's spent hours trying to fully enjoy his wonderful beach date with Nico, but he hasn't been able to. And not just because of that damned fisherman.
"Marti?" Niccolò snaps him out of it, as they drive away. "Can you put some music on, please?"
"You know these weird appendices I've got at the bottom of my arms, Ni? They're called hands. You've got two as well, so use them." Martino huffs, teasing, as he waits to be told which one he is supposed to pick.
"First of all: should I remind you that you are the one who doesn't like it when I'm driving and fiddling with the car stereo?"
True. He'd rather have Niccolò looking at the road, instead of rummaging a box to find that particular mixtape he had made… Couldn't he buy a regular phone, and have it on Spotify, instead?
"Secondly, I believe I've shown you how well I can use my hands plenty of times, haven't I?" He squeezes Marti’s thigh at that, running his fingers way too close to his crotch.
"Maybe you need to jog my memory a bit?" Marti asks, grinning and dragging Niccolò’s hand right where he wants it the most.
"Mhh… A tempting offer, but no.” Much to Martino’s disappointment, Nico breaks free of his hold and puts his hand back on the wheel. “We can't be late, not after I begged everyone to show up as early as they possibly could. You're gonna have to wait…"
"Mh, all right." He is so not pouting, no sir. Not at all.
"Oh, come on,” Niccolò adds, in a gentler tone. “It'll be worth it. And you'll get the exclusive on the newest addition to our drawer… "
Huh? So the sweater isn't the only present he is going to get from him, today? He wonders what it could be… and how he is going to use it on Nico.
Okay, not the wisest idea to think about that, when he's trying to keep his libido at bay… and he can't remember why exactly?
'Because you're never gonna hear the end of it, both from the boys and the girls, if you two get home needing a shower and a change of clothes.'
Right. Okay, then. Let's hear what Nico is in the mood for, during their journey back home. Knowing him, it can anything ranging from old school rock to dubstep. He's quite curious to find out what it will be, this time.
It's placed… Inside a handmade music box, painted in blue and red?
It opens to, a melancholic - nonetheless soothing - melody. Nothing that Martino has ever heard before, so it must be either something really obscure or a song that Niccolò wrote for him. While they were apart, judging from the vibes it gives off.
“Cool, right? Can you believe I found how to make a music box on WikiHow? Internet is not just for porn, after all.” Nico keeps on talking since Marti has been left speechless. How many sleepless nights did it take, for him to make this? “Now, I don’t know if you’re too young to remember how to use a cassette deck, but you’ve got to insert that tape… Staring at it won’t-”
“Shut up.” He finally manages to say, slapping Nico’s nape. They both smile at his feigned yelp: he didn’t even hit him that hard.
"I know, the audio quality isn't the best but I haven't given Miché - who is indeed the guy from Foggia, before you ask - enough to find some proper recording equipment… They will sound better live, I promise."
There’s the tune from the music box but played on a piano, at first. Followed by a silly ukulele ballad… and yeah, it sure is the same one Nico attempted to play for him back in October 2018.
In true Niccolò Fares’ fashion, the mixtape itself is filled with the cheesiest songs he could find. Songs that make Martino groan, but that he can’t help but sing along to. And then… Then the mood abruptly changes, with the last three songs. All the silliness is gone, and each of those lyrics goes straight to his heart.
‘Perché non è facile... Forse nemmeno utile… Certe cose chiare dentro, poi non escono. Restano, restano.’
‘Le incomprensioni sono così strane, sarebbe meglio evitarle sempre, per non rischiare di aver ragione… Che la ragione non sempre serve.’
’Stammi più vicino ora che ho paura, perché in questa fretta tutto si consuma… Mai, non ti vorrei veder cambiare mai.’
“Stop the car. Now.” He says, turning off the radio. He can’t wait another minute to make it crystal clear to Niccolò that there is nothing left to forgive. That he regretted walking out on him the minute he did it, and that it’s never gonna happen again.
Perhaps he hasn’t been straightforward enough, under the bed. They always tend to get a little sidetracked, on their reunions, after all. He’s not that good with words, though. So… A bone-crushing hug will do, for now?
And maybe later he can do better, be a lot more convincing. It’s what they both deserve, don’t they? *************************** A/N: I will include the links for the lyrics’ translations on AO3. Not here otherwise the post doesn’t show up in the tags.

My Spotify got DELETED this year so no Spotify Wrapped. Instead I’m just going to list all of the albums I bought on iTunes and go over my thoughts on them. No ratings; ratings are lame.
Cape God - Allie X
Tumblr media
It’s no surprise I’ve been following Allie since Collxtion I. This year’s album from her is a natural evolution and a wonderful maturation of her music up to this point. Her previous work was already developed but I find this album just strikes to the center of your person. I feel like telling you there’s a collab with Mitski on here puts that into good perspective.
Personal Standout: Sarah Come Home
Future Nostalgia - Dua Lipa
Tumblr media
I haven’t listened to this one much since the week I bought it. It’s a good pop album though with a lot of disco influence which was fun and was definitely a trend in pop music this year. That and metal.
Personal Standout: Don’t Start Now or Physical
SAWAYAMA - Rina Sawayama
Tumblr media
I’ve been a fan of hers since we were orange hair sisters in 2017. But oh boy. This album. In many ways album of the year (although I can name three other albums on this list that also vie for that spot). Her use of rock music and the variety of topics (compare Comme Des Garçons and XS) shows the depth of her talent. Still upset I didn’t get to see her and Allie in April.
Personal Standout: Who’s Gonna Save U Now?
Fetch The Bolt Cutters - Fiona Apple
Tumblr media
When I first head The Idler Wheel when I was 15, I think my world changed a little. It’s like when you hear The Hounds of Love for the first time. So it was no surprise her next album would be phenomenal. But it should be illegal for an album to be this perfect. Cutting to the core of every possible emotion in a way that only Fiona could do. Flawless is selling it short.
Personal Standout: Drumset
I Disagree - Poppy
Tumblr media
I followed Poppy for a bit when she was that one girl who made weird experimental Youtube videos and had one EP. I remember getting 3:36 on her Bandcamp. But I sort of fell off. But THEN I was made aware of this album, gave it a listen, and bought it immediately. I love good, rich rock music and deeply miss it in the pop scene I’ve stationed myself in. This scratches that itch in abundance.
Personal Standout: I Disagree
Petals For Armor - Hayley Williams
Tumblr media
Paramore is maybe the most important rock band of the last 20 years. After Laughter is probably my actual favorite album of all time even though I still say Miley Cyrus And Her Dead Petz. But Hayley’s solo work has proven itself to be a separate entity. It’s very deep and personal and is refined in a way that could only come from years of being deeply ingrained in music and understanding it thoroughly.
Personal Standout: Cinnamon
Flamboyant (Deluxe) - Dorian Electra
Tumblr media
I was initially hesitant to get into Dorian Electra. I think I thought it was trying too hard. But I warmed up a little and found it speaking to my queer masculine side, which I often ignored in favor of the liberation of femininity.
Personal Standout: Adam & Steve
how i’m feeling now - Charli XCX
Tumblr media
How Charli managed to make a no-skip in two months during quarantine is completely beyond me.
Personal Standout: anthems
spice²world - Spice Girls
Tumblr media
Now I’m sure you saw this and thought “Wait, what’s that? I’ve never heard of that album.” Well this is actually related to the Spotify deletion. It’s literally just Spice and Spiceworld stuck together. I had it as a playlist on my Spotify and decided to recreate it in my iTunes.
Personal Standout: It’s the Spice Girls. Love Thing is my favorite.
Smile - Katy Perry
Tumblr media
I’ve loved Katy Perry since fucking meanplastic posted a soundcloud post of International Smile. From there I delved into her back catalog and learned that One of the Boys is and will always be her best album, which is somewhat unfortunate because, presumably after Lady Gaga blew up, she shifted to pop music and we’ll never get 2008 pop rock goddess Katy back again. But don’t let that deter you. Her music has been evolving since Teenage Dream, which was written by God according to people on here who jump through hoops to hate her. And though Witness was like Artpop in that it sort of broke the facade of infallibility, Smile took what worked from Witness and refined it into a more introspective album that’s trying less hard to be commercial. I hate to admit that that post comparing Katy to Cyndi Lauper as a relic of her decade was right, but I’m okay with that because I feel like Katy is gearing up to be, in the words of Britney Spears, an underground star.
Personal Standout: Tucked
Chromatica - Lady Gaga
Tumblr media
I’ve been a little monster since the very beginning. I remember preordering Born This Way at Hot Topic when I was 14. Since then I’ve always held that it’s her best album (though Joanne didn’t make that hard to argue). But Lady Gaga did the impossible. Yes, Chromatica is now Lady Gaga’s best album. The club pop with elements of disco is sheer perfection.
Personal Standout: Replay
Pang - Caroline Polachek
Tumblr media
I know I really hyped this album up when it came out last year, but I only got around to actually buying it this year after my Spotify got deleted. But yeah, of course this album is great.
Personal Standout: Pang
Spirit Phone - Lemon Demon
Tumblr media
A striking departure from the previous listings. Calling it meme music would not be incorrect. But it’s fun and it’s good. I listened to it all day Halloween but I’m still listening to it right now.
Personal Standout: I Earn My Life
Dreamland - Black Box
Tumblr media
Do y’all like house music? If you do, then this album needs no introduction. It is THE house album. Stan Martha Wash.
Personal Standout: I Don’t Know Anybody Else. But you should definitely listen to Ride on Time first.
BONUS:
apathy + Vacuum Noises - Astrophysics
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I didn’t buy these albums on iTunes. I got them off of Astrophysics’ Bandcamp. So that’s why they’re bonuses. But I love these albums so much. I only started following Astrophysics this year. You might know them for doing synthwave remixes of anime songs like Connect from PMMM or Komm Süsser Todd from NGE. But their music has evolved into more glitchcore/shoegaze (with a Soviet aesthetic that I love). It’s some of the best music I’ve heard in that field.
Personal Standout: The remix of Sometimes by My Bloody Valentine from Vacuum Noises. Listen to it here!
ベノマ - かいりきベア (Venomer - Kairiki Bear)
Tumblr media
This one I also did not buy on iTunes. But I didn’t get it on Bandcamp either. I got it on mikudb, which is my go-to website for Vocaloid music. Venomer is a remix collab album by Kairiki Bear where he invited several other Vocaloid producers to remix his most popular songs. It’s a real who’s-who of the hottest Vocaloid producers right now.
Personal Standout: The Niru Kajitsu remix of Ángel (I have an audio post of it here!)

12/17/2020 DAB Transcript
Nahum 1:1-3:19, Revelation 8:1-13, Psalms 136:1-26, Proverbs 30:7-9
Today is the 17th day of December the 352nd day of this year welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it is wonderful it is a joy to be here with you today as we take the next step forward. And, so, right off the bat as we’re moving toward the…the Old Testament we finished, completed the book of Micah yesterday, which was the sixth of the minor prophets, the sixth of…the sixth of the 12 minor prophets. So, we’re going into book 7 of the minor prophets today. And this is a book called Nahum and we will read it in its entirety today in one sitting. But let’s talk about it.
Introduction to the book of Nahum:
Let’s first remember a city called Nineveh. Remember that city, the capital city of the Assyrian Empire. We remember this story probably most vividly from Jonah, Jonah the prophet running from God but than having to circle back around and obey God and go to Nineveh and the Ninevites repent at the time. Nahum deals with Nineveh, but we have to go forward about 150 years after Jonah. And the thing about Nahum is almost nothing is known about them at all. The name Nahum means comfort and the book says he was from Elkosh, but the problem about that is nobody knows where Elkosh is. Like, was it a village, was it a town, like where are we talking about? Placing Nahum in time is a little bit easier because there are some references to events that are historical events contained within the prophecy. For example, Assyria conquered Thebes, which is in Egypt and that is a well-known historical fact and that happened in 663 B.C., but it's referenced in Nahum. So, we…we know the Nahum was written after that date. And Nahum also prophesies the…the fall of Nineveh. And that's also a historical fact, it happened in 612 B.C. So, Nahum probably did his prophetic ministry between those two events. And like I said this is a prophecy against Nineveh and this time the destruction of Nineveh is foretold. So, whatever repentance they had 150 years previous…well…was over. And the Assyrians were known for their brutality and known for their mistreatment of those they had conquered. I mean like a legendarily known for it. And they had destroyed the northern kingdom of Israel. And we remember this. We read the entire story. The Assyrian Empire came and destroyed Samaria and took the northern 10 tribes of Israel into exile where they were assimilated and never were cohesive tribes ever again. And, so, God uses Nahum to foretell the destruction of Nineveh. And there are many scholars who believe that Nahum…like Nahum didn't travel to Nineveh to give this message. This was a prophecy likely issued from Jerusalem and was likely intended to be heard by Hebrew people who knew about the destruction of the northern kingdom, and then this prophecy would come and tell them God's intentions, which would give them encouragement to live true and live into all of the things that they were facing knowing that God was just, and that God would in the end would do what God will do. And, so, in the major and minor prophets we've seen God foretell things but also invite repentance and then tell of a future where things would be restored so we know that God is merciful and patient. But we also know that God, He’s not a pushover, and nobody's gonna push…the…this is God. And, so, no nation will stand before God and God will not stand for a nation's sin forever. And, so, with that we will read the complete book of Nahum. We’re reading from the Good News translation this week. Nahum contains three chapters, and we will of course begin with chapter one.
Prayer:
Father we thank You for Your word. We thank You for the 136th Psalm today that over and over in the face of everything reminds us that Your love is eternal no matter what. And we are grateful for that. We bask in that. We relax in that. We exhale in that. Thank You for Your eternal love for us and we invite Your Holy Spirit to continually remind us of this. This Psalm is so beautiful because it won't let it go. Your love is eternal over and over and over. And, so, let that sink in today. Holy Spirit come we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Announcements:
dailyaudiobible.com is the website, home base, and its where you find what's going on around here. And it's been Christmas around here. It gets more Christmasy every day as we move towards Christmas in the world. And, so, it's been Christmas time around here. So, let me let you know about something brand-new for Christmas.
So, my wife Jill is a singer if…if you didn't know. Not like, she's my wife and she sings, like a professional singer. This was…this was Jill’s career and my career was in the music business as well as a record producer before…before life tipped upside down and we found ourselves in full-time ministry. Something we really really thought was never on the radar. So, she has several albums and has toured all over the world singing. And, so, virtually she will be performing a candlelight service with some of our friends and partners in ministry in the Global Campfire community. Churches all over the world are part of what we do here. And, so, she’s gonna be singing and we’ll post a link to that, especially if…especially if you are virtual and maybe have no home then we’ll definitely post that on our social media links on Christmas eve. But she was asked to sing O holy night, which any of you out there who are singers, you know, that’s a singer’s song and that is a deceptively difficult song to sing. But she and I got together, and we were like, “let's…let’s make this real. Let’s do this like we always did. Let's…let's create a single that we can release into this holiday season into this unforgettable year. The words of that song just cut through which is why it's one of those songs that’s just stood the test of time, it just cuts through. And, so, we produced the single and she sang her heart out and we released it and you can hear now. Look for Jill Parr. Of course, her names Jill Hardin, she's my life but she was Jill Parr before she was Jill Hardin, and she was already known as Jill Parr and that's who she's known of…as known as…as a singer. So, just look for Jill Parr and look for O holy night the single and there you go, you can stream on Spotify, modify Apple music, Google play, YouTube music, wherever. You can also buy it from any of these stores and $0.99 track is like a stocking stuffer for the Daily Audio Bible. Everything helps, especially everything in a year like this one. And we’ve just kind of always had a little bit of an unspoken motto - if we’re gonna ask, we’re gonna give too. And, so, we worked hard and it's available now for your Christmas listening pleasure and I hope it encourages you tremendously and inspires you.
Also, kind of while you’re streaming or, you know, downloading albums and stuff there’s the Family Christmas album that is the soundtrack to the season for the Global Campfire. And you can get that at the Daily Audio Bible Shop if you want like a physical CD copy, but if you just, you know, your music is digital, and you download your albums digitally then look for Family Christmas. You can look for my name Brian Hardin and you’ll find Family Christmas and stream or buy that record. It is the kind of record that…well…that really follows the sensibilities of the Daily Audio Bible where we really, really seek out peace, we really seek out serenity when we read the Scriptures, we really try to create a space that’s holy, a space that’s different, that's sacred and separate from all of the cares of this life, so that we have an oasis, a place to go. Well, Family Christmas is the soundtrack inside of that for Christmas. It’s the kind of thing you just sip your hot cocoa. And like I’ve always said, because it's what I like to do - turn off all the lights, leave the Christmas lights on, and just sit and take it all in. And Family Christmas is a great soundtrack for that. So, check it out.
The other thing that we have been talking about is the Daily Audio Bible Shop and resources that are available there that make fine gifts and inspiring invitations to engage with the Scripture on a more intentional…in a more intentional way. So, a couple more days and we will have reached the end of the road there as far as shipping goes. We’re well past shipping for arrival for Christmas time internationally but here domestically with in the United States, a couple more days and then we will have reached that threshold as well. So, we’re kind of in the final…final days. So, to check out the Daily Audio Bible Shop.
If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that dailyaudiobible.com as well. There is a link on the homepage. Thank you humbly and profoundly for your partnership. If you’re using the Daily Audio Bible app you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner or the mailing address, if that's your preference, is PO Box 1996 Spring Hill Tennessee 37174.
And, as always, if you have a prayer request or encouragement 877-942-4253 is the number to dial.
And that's it for today. I’m Brian I love you and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
Community Prayer and Praise:
Good morning siblings it’s your little sis His Little Cherry in Canada. Today is the third Sunday in Advent the beginning of joy and I’m so grateful for Advent this year. Every day in Advent I have been walking to the sunrise and it’s been such a nourishing exercise. Today is bitterly cold. It’s -17 right now that’s Celsius which is about 1°F and I still plan to walk to the sunrise. I’m just getting ready to go, bundling up. I’m putting three pairs of pants on and my big wool sweater and then my big knee length down jacket and I am bundling my head up with just a slit for my eyes showing and deep Arctic gloves and on and on and on. And I will be waddling to the sunrise this morning but I will be there and I just have come to depend on seeing the sunrise. Hosea 6:3 says, “as surely as the sun rises the Lord will appear. He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. So, come Lord Jesus I will meet you at the sunrise. We will both be there.” And family I’m taking you with me today to discover the certainty of joy.
Hello DAB family I was just listening to this song that says, “yes I will choose to glorify your name, the name of all names” and I was thinking about just 2020 and how we can say as believers God has been good in 2020. God has been faithful this year. We’re going to look at all of the things that he’s done for us and know all of the things we don’t know that He’s done for us to take care of us, to show us love, to protect us. He’s done so much. And, so, I choose to praise Him. I choose to give thanks for all that He is and all that He’s done in 2020. I am praising Him for it. This has been a great year. It…it still has and sometimes I have to go to the store, and I wear a mask and I feel claustrophobic and I don’t like it but I’m praising Him and when I hear about people sick, I pray for them. So, that’s the way I choose to live but I choose to praise the name of all names, Jesus and I just encourage you all to do the same. And I love you and bless you and I’m so happy to finish out the year with DAB.
Grace and peace Daily Audio Bible family this is RJ calling for Jesus. I just want to say this year 2020 has been a year of bitter and sweet. This year I’ve actually lost my mom. A month before that I actually got married to the love of my life. Three months before that I actually contracted the…the Covid virus and was tested positive and wow…during the season, you know, with my mom when we had her a home going I was able to reconcile with to my children one of my…one of my boys here that’s with my new wife has gotten in trouble with the law, you know, my job is at a…has had…a lot of things have been happening, a lot of ups and downs. But I pray to God in the name of Jesus. So, a word of encouragement to those who are listening and to just never give up. Our God is able. He’s faithful to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think according to the power that worketh in us through Christ. So, I pray that each and every one of you guys that are listening that you’re encouraged, that you let the love of God shine in your hearts and in your mind that whatever you do or what you see will be through that lens of love and you will share it to others. Be encouraged my family. Let the love of God continue to shine. Love you all. May God bless you. Amen.
Good morning this is Boyce in northern Nevada and first of all I want to thank Brian for this amazing community and this app that helps us to start our day with the word of God. I feel burdened to pray for all of the delivery people that are working right now many times around-the-clock. I’m a USPS mail carrier myself. And, so, I know that all…all delivery drivers and carriers are working tremendously harder than normal during this season. And, so, I just want to pray. Father God just be with all of the…the carriers - FedEx, UPS, USPS, Amazon drivers - that are having to work just around-the-clock tremendously longer hours and under the burden of this Covid 19 situation that is adding tremendous strain to their…to their jobs. And just give them a sense of gratitude for all of the joy that we get to…we get to help people to receive the things that they ordered and that they need and that we have good jobs that are providing for our families. Also, Lord give them a sense of, you know, the harder that we work the more that we enjoy our…our time off. So, I just ask that you be with them and keep them safe, their family safe in Jesus’ name.
Hey Daily Audio Bible family this is Jason from North Carolina area. Brian I just wanted to say thank you for this. I’m glad that the Lord convicted your heart and allowed in His good grace you to produce this podcast. And I look forward to the God of My Story that I purchased for me and family members for Christmas. I look forward to using that as a companion to the Daily Audio Bible next year. This is my fourth you’re listening, and this is going to be the first year that I complete the Daily Audio Bible completely. And I thank the Lord God for that for it has changed my life profoundly. Jim and Janet if you’re listening to this just know that I love you so much and I thank you for this gift. I thank you for the encouragement and I’m glad that I truly believe the Lord prodded you to tell me about it because it is definitely within the wheelhouse of how I learn and just cannot tell you enough how it has grown me and matured me, and I look forward to keeping it a part of my life for as long as the Lord will allow. And I definitely look forward to using the Chronological Daily Audio Bible next year in the evenings. I’m a nurse so in the mornings I love having this quiet time making breakfast listening to the Daily Audio Bible, but I’ve been convicted and know lately that in the evenings I’m kind of board and I just look forward to hearing from the Chronological. So, again I thank you for that resource as well. I love you all and I thank you very much for this. Just it is wonderful again to have this example of community within our own local churches and families but as a church abroad. In Jesus’ name I pray. Thank you, guys. Amen.

Loves Me / Loves Me Not
New Years approaching, time for one last 2019 share, we hope you’ll enjoy <3
We also started adding the tracks from our LMLMN posts in a spotify playlist for further enjoyment, you can find it here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0cgvx8cRMUii4ZSNkdennc?si=iHduei6CQI6Fgtt6qfEKGQ

Safari - Are’s Daughter + Spoken
https://soundcloud.com/bandsafari/ares-daughter
Safari were spending so much time in the bush that they forgot to let us know they released a bunch of lovely tunes 2 months back - much luck however, we’re gonna cover 2 of the tunes for your pleasure this time!
The first one ‘Are’s Daughter’ is personally one of my favourite tunes in some time as it connects a nice big array of solid influences and manages to somehow pack them all into a solid 4min package. It’s lofi, it’s certain diy, there’s some dorky The Frogs vibes that merges into the lofi slackery early Built to Spill which then goes full Pixies aka ‘Break My Body’ from Surfer Rosa - I’m fucking loving the screams around the 2 min part. It’s just a beautiful chill, noise and quite pleasant 4 min of your time, I’d recommend going twice.
https://soundcloud.com/bandsafari/spoken
‘Spoken’ is the second track we got sent off of the ‘Draw’ release from earlier this year. It’s a little less ‘full on’ than Are’s Daughter, but still quite a pleasant company. The vocal melodies show one of the major strengths of ‘Safari’, it’s kept really simple, often repetitive but the melodies keep it all floating extremely well - and then I have to say - that their singer has the same tone as Black Francis is just an amazing plus - for someone who still loves to go back an listen to Surfer Rosa, Trompe Le Monde, Doolittle and other old Pixies albums, this gives me hope that there’s new blood coming! I look forward to what the time will bring for Safari if they end up in the right hands.
Yaehsun - Show Me How You Love
https://soundcloud.com/user-282851032/show-me-how-to-love
Like a soothing bedroom version of early Tame Impala, Yaehsun gets away with copying all the nice things of TI without coming across as a silly ripoff - many have gone that way and never delivered - It’s not the case here. It’s damn smooth and I would be very inclined to put this tune on a sunday chill playlist - something I would most likely never do with a Tame Impala track. I look very much forward to seeing what else will come from this outfit!
Mouthbreather - Modern Girl
youtube
This is about as “folky” as it gets for us, but it’s not really folk - it’s got way too much of something else that I’m not quite sure how to pin down. Somehow I feel like I’m hearing this mix of Oasis and the National, but I’m not sure - I am sure though that that’s only a good thing. Lyrics tells a pretty straight ahead and nice story, the video has some really nice cartoon-parts that was a pleasure to spend time with. It’s a pretty simple song but I have a feeling that a lot of work and love went into this, it’s definitely worth a listen and a watch, just to take a quiet breather while everyones passing by around you in highspeed. You don’t always need to go fast, remember to enjoy the things and people around you <3
I, Doris - Just Some Doris
https://soundcloud.com/user-60096052/just-some-doris-1/s-kR6sc
Oh another home-run from Britain before they exit EU, if anything I hope that the whole thing will bring a ton of great music built on anger and frustration. This lovely little tune by Doris is rather comical, not in the annoying way of course, it’s more dorky - Dorky Doris, fuck I’d love to have a friend who called herself that. Now I love dorky, although naming yourself dorky is probably more ballsy than dorky, anyhow enough of this - the tune is cosy, you’ll enjoy it! I for one hope I get to see I, Doris live sometime!
Pink Soup - Epiphany
https://pinksoup.bandcamp.com/track/epiphany
Loads of lofi bedroom-electro vibes in this sleepy slacker tune from Pink Soup, it’s a perfect soundtrack for a delirious sunday stroll to the local grocery store still halfway gone from last nights escapades. I have absolutely no idea what’s really being sung about, but it doesn’t matter, I feel whats going on and thats exactly what the track’s supposed to do - switch your mind off and just let go for a little while, we’ll be okay, this boat is gonna dock on the other side somewhere.
The Oxen - Glass Pastures
https://soundcloud.com/theoxen/glass-pastures
Damn perfect tune for getting completely lost - this track makes me want to get a garden, somewhere I can just lie down on grass and have butterflies and bumblebees flying around above my head. I’m going to need some sunflowers too - I can already see them swaying in tune to this song with the wind, it’s going to be fucking magical!
The tune evolves beautifully also - it’s smooth sailing with the change-up of a c-part where it gets a bit more rocky, but you’ll be back - it’s like a pretty nice guided audio-meditation - letting you ride their magical rollercoaster safely back to the docking bay. I’d love to try some of the other rides in this delicious theme park <3
Royal Target - By My Side
https://soundcloud.com/smiths1967/by-my-side
This tune reminds me of the first albums by bands like Beat Happening and the Vaselines. There’s some sort of “puppy like” thing about songs on those albums as there is with this tune by Royal Target. It’s kinda tumbling ahead in the most charming of ways. This song gets some extra vibe by the thick german “english” accent, it just really works.
I know from conversation that the tune itself holds enormous meaning to the artist and is quite personal, which is always a nice thing to know that something was created with a lot of emotion - that’s why songs like this works out, you don’t to drown in technical skills or have equipment more expensive than your house, you just need integrity and emotion. I hope 2020 will bring plenty of more songs down this road.
Modesta - Ode to the Peculiar
https://open.spotify.com/track/2KrbjD9t31ZpBKUocd7M5c
This is about as ‘poppy’ as it gets for us, but it’s so damn good this here. It’s like cutting hot butter with a sharp knife or watching someone squeeze silly putty in slow motion, I mean come one - that stuff is trance-like! Why do you think ASMR is so popular these days - I'm pretty sure Modesta is the true link between music and asmr. You should give it a try, it will make your day better, promise!
Take care everyone and have a good new years.
See you in 2020

STAR! I’M NEARLY DONE W DARK OF THE MOON AND I’M LOVING IT SO MUCH, GOD, THIS SERIES IS SO GOOD!! I’M REALLY EXCITED but v nervous about tori and jame meeting bc it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna be the reunion i’ve been waiting for, AND I HAVE BEEN WAITING. anyway i’m desperately trying to balance my id’s need for content w a healthy fear of spoilers, so: does the podcast have any spoilers? how long are episodes? (i’m gonna try it BUT my brain is bad w podcasts, so it’s a crapshoot lol.)
BLUE!!!!!
I AM SO DELIGHTED TO HAVE CONVERTED YOU!!!
Okay, so, the podcast episodes vary pretty wildly in length, they’re shorter at first (an hour) and then get longer in Dark of the Moon because things get more complicated once you drop Torisen into the mix (usually more like an hour and forty minutes), and we are doing our absolute damndest to be spoiler-free!  I am just now editing the episode for Ch 7 of Dark of the Moon, the one with the rathorn mare and the Builder city, and I have done my level best to cut anything more spoiler-heavy than broad statements like “we meet more changers later,” and while I’m not perfect, I think I’ve done pretty well.  We also try to do trigger warnings at the start of each episode, although, again, we’re human.
Re: listening to the podcast, first off, don’t hang yourself out to dry over it if you just have a hard time with podcasts, my “subbed media is Absolutely Prohibited” ass certainly won’t hold it against you.  Don’t feel obligated, but also you ain’t gonna find a lot of other Kencyrath stuff out there.  Our chatter is usually pretty easy listening and doesn’t require a lot of attentiveness in order to follow it, from what I’ve been told.  Since we basically just go over every chapter beat by beat, if you read the book recently, you can sort of tune in and out without missing anything (this is a problem if you are me, the editor, who knows these books back to front and often tunes out during editing).  The intro episode’s audio is…not good, we had some pretty acute technical issues, but if you’re already two books in, you can definitely skip it outright, it doesn’t include anything of importance.  We initially posted on Castbox, but the Podcast Bound in Pale Leather can now be found on most podcast platforms including iTunes, and we are getting approved for Spotify, Stitcher, Google Music, Podcast Republic, and SoundCloud, so…go wild.
Incidentally, I’ve convinced more people to read these books since starting this podcast nine months ago than my mother and I COMBINED had managed in the preceding DECADE, and if you’re not careful I will go MAD WITH POWER.

Where I’ve been and Patreon
So I’ve been busy and lately haven’t been updating my Patreon. My bad guys. I’ve been focusing all my energy on my gig at Avalon Hollywood. I wanted to gauge the venue on some of things. Professionalism, how they treat guests, VIPsand the sort. And I gotta say, that night went WAY more smoother than my time at OC Live.  It’s been kind of hectic and fast paced. I immediately hopped on a booking date about week or two in advance and had to plan a way to bring in my friends. And glad to say they got in this time with ease and made it to the end half of my set!  I gotta say, I really love the atmosphere and the courteous staff. Unlike my last experience I can walk in early, find my room and even a staff member showed me where my room was and guess what, I got to soundcheck!  It just happened so fast, my first real gig. And I loved it. I want to spin again for them but I should be planning things out properly, like how we used to for cons like EQLA and PPC. Plus promotion and hype too. Gonna try to allocate funds to setup a true dedicated website on Wordpress.  Press photos! I need press photos at gigs, and just in general. This is the right time to rebrand myself in the best possible way. I might hit up Dante for that. I still have a job at Outback Steakhouse which is still kind of meh. But it’s what keeps my business afloat. Also more than half the crew digs my Outback Radio station. Oh by the way, I have my own private radio station. Now entering Season 2 with just about 18 total episodes last season in beginning of Summer. It’s all genres inclusive with my coworkers as guest radio DJs and some can phone in requests. Every episode is just over an hour long with segments broken up between non sponsored ads. BECAUSE this is NOT a LIVE RADIO BROADCAST, I won’t post the radio station anywhere. But please, feel free to check out my Spotify where I have playlists that sort of tie in to episodes of the Outback Radio. It’s called Outback Radio because I work at Outback Steakhouse, no relation. Its a great way to get me to discover newer music as well as rediscover old classics.  I’ve also hired a team of artists and graphics designer to create artworks for my singles. I had just left Reverbnation for Distrokid and in compliance with Distrokid’s TOS I’ll be releasing all the singles and tracks I’ve been holding on to. This was because RN only allowed singles to be uploaded and distributed with a small time fee every time. With Distrokid there’s unlimited uploads for an annual fee. This way, I can help give exposure to my wonderful talented team of artists and get them in a long term business plan. Problem is, Outback cut my hours, but more than half. That’s part of why I set up a Patreon.  I want to be able to afford my team to see this Singles Program I had envisioned but work’s kind of been putting a choke on me. I also always wanted to teach music in all sorts of levels to all musicians. I know the big $1k is impossible but I know what I want to do if I ever reach that goal. I know camera rigging setups tripods and dynamic dolly shots bring out an interview and grab the audience’s attention. I know that having a proper mic setup means more than just a lapel to a DSLR, which for some reason my Canon t5 is incapable of. So it’s extra editing work to have to manually sync audio files to video files. And I have no editing team, so it’s all just me doing setups, tear downs, compositing, editing, mixing and producing my own content. That’s why RiffMusicPony 2017 took nearly a year and half to edit. It was all me. And it’s not like I have a lab where I can edit, it’s just my laptop in a room that heats up very quickly so editing in the summer is a pain in the butt. All that aside I want to be able have a setup where I can professionally convey all the tips tricks and techniques I’ve learned over the years in college and in the field. As of right now I do have a music notebook right on Tumblr that has some informational material in the world of recording and some terminology that the pros use to get an understanding of how it all works. Also in that blog are personal written accounts from myself in and out of bands, touring, recording and college life.  I do plan on releasing more of my college notebooks at some point in the future but like I said (TL;DR) busy busy busy and not enough time in the day. I will try my best.  I wanted to be as transparent with all of you, everyone, anyone at this point. Trying not to look back at the past so much cuz I get lost in the past too much, but when I do, I always said “I believe I made the right choices at the right time” because even when things go wrong, and even horribly wrong, it was the way it was meant to be. When things go right, I don’t brag or celebrate, I just like to lean back and smile. The one’s who know me best know this.  I’m sorry if I’m not over the top crazy or relevant like an “influencer” but I’m just a guy with a dream.  I, David Suarez have a dream. And that dream is, no matter what happens, no matter what doesn’t happen, I will give people the show they came out to see. That is my creed.

me vs. my best friend (kpop edition)
welcome to whatever this is i guess, well my nickname is nana so nice to meet y’all and since this is a post about me AND my best friend her nickname is kun so i’m just gonna refer to her as kun so just saying that now do y’all don’t get confused later
WARNING: this is an extremely long post so if you don’t want to read all of it i can’t blame you but it did take me roughly 8 hours to write this so i’d appreciate it if you read it but it’s okay if you don’t^^ also please respect our opinions and if any of you want to answer these questions in the comments or reblogs then please feel free to do so!!
so this was originally gonna be a youtube video but honestly i’m way too lazy to edit roughly 82 different music videos into 15 minutes. so i’m just gonna do it here until i get motavated enough to actually download 82 music videos and edit them down into clips. at the bottom of this is a spotify playlist of the songs i was gonna download audio/music videos for if you want to take a listen, there is one for me and one for kun ^^
so i guess i’ll start btw kun’s list took me SO LONG cause she’s also indecisive so we sat on the phone for 2 hours while she was answering these questions i swear
me (nana)
kun
both of us
1. Favorite Male Group:
- got7; im not even gonna lie those seven goof balls mean the world to both of us, like we’re seeing them on july 6th for the second year in a row, how can they top the greatest day of our lives?
- i adore all of them so much and they’ve made me the happiest i’ve ever been and i can’t believe i actually fell in love with one of them??? like it sound STUPID AF but like i deadass fell in love with mark tuan and i don’t regret it at all
- MY BOYS! honestly because of them i laugh constantly and can’t help but love them! especially yugyeom! he’s so cute i can’t! his eyes, his voice, his everything i adore him and he owns my heart from now until forever
Tumblr media
2. Favorite Female Group:
- aoa; aoa was my first girl group besides f(x) and they have a special place in my heart but other then them i also adore twice
- red velvet; im not too into girl groups but i’m trying but so far i really enjoy red velvet and their personalities and they’re few of the girl groups i actually know the names of lol
3. Favorite Band:
- day6; we’re jyp stan’s at heart (and sm stan’s im not gonna lie) we’ve loved all of jyp’s groups and soloists thus far, honestly day6 doesn’t have a single bad song if you ask us
(dowoon owns my heart just thought you would like to know that)
(and brian owns mine whoops)
4. Favorite Underrated Boy Group:
- the boyz; they’re so cute and talented so stan them asap plz (also stan astro my bubs) okay so this one was hard for me ngl, i adore the group kun chose from the bottom of my heart but a lot of our answers are similar so i wanted to change it up
Tumblr media
- astro; thanks to nana she dragged me into loving these goof balls and i’m so glad she did, they’re all so adorable and they have great music so stan my babies :(( sanha is the cutest babie and i love him please love my beagle boy
Tumblr media
5. Favorite Underrated Girl Group:
- dreamcatcher; hands down one of the easiest questions for me? like idk i adore these girls and they’re great so please stan :D
- clc; MY GIRLS MY QUEENS okay so other than red velvet they’re my favorite girl group and i’m absolutely not gonna deny that
6. Favorite Rookie Boy Group:
- stray kids
so i’ve stanned stray kids since predebut, specifically when hellevator was released, YALL HAVE NO CLUE HOW HYPED I WAS im serious i didn’t shut up about these boys and i’m so glad they’re so beyond successful and i adore each and every one of them p.s stream side effects
i’ve liked stray kids since predebut but after nana’s persistence i ended up adoring the members more than anything (except yugyeom) i major stanned since january of 2018 and i’m so proud of my boys :((
Tumblr media
7. Favorite Rookie Girl Group:
- itzy; so other than everglow it was hard for us to make a decision on this, neither of us STAN STAN many girl groups so most girl group debuts slip our minds after watching them but dalla dalla had been stuck in both of our heads for months now so that’s why we ended up choose itzy (also jyp girl group duh)
8. Favorite Disbanded Group:
- speed; okay so most people don’t know them and i am: depressed about it but it’s okay, they’re my boys and i love them, one of the members is actually zico’s older brother so oof yes talented family, they’re great and i miss them so much :(((
- history; so roughly towards the end of 2016 i saw their video just might die and queen, nana had already played me queen before and i really enjoyed the song (bop listen to it plz) and i just loved them from then on, after they announced their disbandment last year ngl it hurt cause i love them
(i could only find the audio of just might die without having to download the video so the link to the video is attached to just might die)
9. Favorite Sub Unit:
- NCT Dream; okay i’m not that person to be like Oh I oNlY stAn ThIs UnIt OF nCt no i stan all 21 members and whoever else joins from that HOWEVER all of the dreamies are really really high on my bias list so that’s why i chose them for my favorite unit (stream dnyl thanks :D) im actually listening to dnyl while writing this so love that
so i couldn’t find any gifs of nct dream ot7 so i settled for this cute gif of jisung
Tumblr media
- WayV; i love all of nct but kun (+johnny and mark) are at the top of my nct bias list. i love take off and i love every song they’ve released so far, my boys ARE APART OF NCT (for y’all dululu fans) also stream dnyl for nana so she’ll shut up about how much she adores dream not that she’ll ever shut up about how much she loves them tbh
Tumblr media
10. Favorite Duo:
- Jus2 + JJ Project
- again here comes the utter LOVE for jyp groups along with got7 i adore both of these duos beyond belief and i need mark to have a duo or a unit or SOMETHING cause i love him with every ounce of my being
- yugyeom. that’s it. yugyeom is the loml and there’s nothing he does where i won’t love him, focus on me hit somewhere different and i LOVE IT and HIM and of course jaebum cause he’s great too uwu i also love both of jjp and i was so exited for tomorrow, today so that helped too^^
11. Favorite Senior Group:
- infinite; so infinite. yeah i’m a HUGE inspirit and i miss hoya, sunggyu, and sungyeol like hell but it’s okay, i adore infinite im not gonna lie (to be fair i adore a lot of groups) and they mean a lot to me, out of my ults i think myungsoo has consistently stayed at the same place since 2016 as my second ultimate bias oof wow, it was also hard to choose between infinite, suju, and shinee like damn
- super junior; so i love suju? i love them more after once again thanks to nana’s persistence after black suit came out even though i was gonna listen to it away, i already loved heechul and leeteuk but dang i really love them and so does nana. but she likes too many groups to just choose one without overthinking it ALOT
12. Favorite Debut Song:
- come back again by infinite; okay so this was also a really hard one cause i love nct’s debut as well as ateez and astro but i ended up choosing come back again cause i find my self searching far and wide just to listen to this song (cause it’s not on apple music or spotify)
- pirate king by ateez; so yes i know that their debut was TECHNICALLY treasure but i love pirate king too much to not say it was my favorite debut, this song is still on constant repeat and always will be like uGH
13. Favorite Male Soloist:
- jeong sewoon; so im a big ol mush pile for all of the produce 101 s2 boys so of course sewoon would be up there with jinyoung, donghan, and SO MANY OTHER GREAT MEN, i adore his voice and the way he sings, he’s just so? great??
- dean; dean was the first kpop artist i ever listened to even without knowing he was a k-r&b artist, i love his voice, it’s so soothing and i can never stop listening to it
14. Favorite Female Soloist:
- chungha; coincidently snapping came out the day before i started writing this so yes?? queen?? but seriously i love her so much and i can’t ever contain my love for her music
