I think Curly’s monologue in the How Fish Are Made DLC gives so much insight to why he thinks the way he does but is also so sad cause it’s just this anger from a person who no longer has the energy to be angry.
You can tell a lot of it’s directed at himself, his choices and how he thinks they affected the people in his life. How he tried to work with what he had and it just wasn’t enough both by the design and how he interacted with it. He’s bitter, he’s upset but he’s also accepting it in a place he really isn’t expected to. But then again that’s always a problem he’s had.
It really goes in tandem with how he is characterized in mouthwashing as we really don’t get those inner turmoils. He’s always trying to help people with theirs and his gets clouded through a different persons view.

You deserve happiness. You deserve safety and security. You deserve healthy relationships. You deserve support. You deserve love of all kinds, from yourself and others. You deserve to feel good. You deserve a job or career that's satisfying, and that doesn't make you dread going in every day. You deserve rest. You deserve nourishment. You deserve the same love and care you so freely give to other people. You deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. You deserve to feel at home in your body. You deserve credit for your small wins as well as your big ones. You deserve to honor your progress. You deserve time for you. You deserve to forgive yourself for your mistakes. You deserve to learn and grow. And you deserve these things no matter what.

"lewis opened a lot of doors for all of us. it's important to say it: without him, it would be different these days. (...) people have a lot more space to express themselves. (...) i actually thank him for sticking to his values and to himself all these years because now it’s definitely made the path slightly smoother for us young drivers."

I feel like people forget how genuinely cool Resus is in the books, yeah he’s still uptight about his appearance but this guy literally threw kitchen knifes like, damn. Spoilers for the books but Imagine if he kept the blood though, it would be so beneficial especially if he learnt magic.

Yeah yeah yeah Neal Caffrey is an expert at so many things and can do nearly anything but can we consider that he does very little without Mozzie. He outsources research and some forgery and plotting and hacking and goes to him for help. Without Mozzie, Neal is so much less.

I genuinely need people to remember that the only reason that tushan jing and xiao yao were in danger was because of cang xuan. Cang xuan desperately wanted tushan jing to look flawed and weak, and so he created the circumstances to make that happen. Tushan jing was never incompetent or foolish.

Thinking about Killer Klowns from Outer Space and the characters have some interesting dynamics.
Dave insists on dropping Debbie off at her house while he and Mike go check out the Klown space ship. This can seem eye rolly because the female character is getting sidelined out of the action. But this ends up leading Mike to be the one to make irrational decisions? If it were Debbie and Dave looking for the Klowns it would have been Debbie who impulsively wrecked the car trying to run over slim. And it would have had a total vibe of "silly woman" with Dave being the one to keep his senses in that situation.
Later, when she gets into the shower to wash off the pop corn, this being an 80s horror movie, what a perfect time to have an excuse to show boobies. But no it never happens. I think we only see the bottoms of her legs and later her arm. Otherwise she's behind the curtain. We don't even see her in her bra. Then she fights off the pop corn snake Klowns. Of all the characters, she is the second best at fighting off the Klowns. (And Dave gets guns!). Does Mike ever kill a Klown or attack one besides that unsuccessful attempt with the car?
Yes she gets captured by the Klowns, but this is after several are in her house. And luckily she ended up in the balloon.
She knew almost immediately that there was something off about the circus tent while Mike thought it was a fun circus until they got to the cotton candy room.
Later she is the first one to go down the pole and she is smart enough to look down and not get eaten by the alligator. And she probably stopped Mike from being its lunch as they both stop Dave from getting chomped.
Mike never seems to feel that his masculinity threatened. He let's Dave take the lead and never insists on having the gun. In the beginning at make out point, when Debbie wants to check out the meteor, he wants to stay and get some action but doesn't pressure her and goes with her to see what landed in the woods. (This ultimately probably saved their lives)
Dave himself accepts the bro hug from Mike at the end of the movie and he was protective over both Mike and Debbie.
EDIT: I also wanted to point out that sending Debbie home to keep her safe was the WRONG choice. She was home alone when the clowns to show up with no weapons to defend herself. Her hair spray and shower head worked against the pop corn Klowns but not the big guys. Daves attempt to be a gentleman almost got Debbie killed and would have if the Klowns weren't planning to balloon her!
Anyway, they are the perfect throuple.
Just an addition. He probably wasn't intended to be this, but Moony was the perfect parody of a cop. The man was power hungry, abused his power, was violent with those he arrested, drank on the job, and didn't even want to do his job and we all know what happened to him. Dave is also unfortunately a cop but I choose to believe, since he is young, that initially became a cop because he wanted to protect people, but then saw how corrupt cops are through Moony and later the state troopers. He chooses to retire from the police force. He, Mike, and Debbie probably wanted to get out of that town anyway. So they are all living on a farm preparing for the return of the Klowns.

 Dissecting Character Scenes: Billy Hargrove
*I say that like he’s not the only character I analyze lmfao- anyway*
His Hand Movements
Tumblr media
The above movement is what I do when:
I’m nervous. For one, it helps me calm down. Since anxiety is essentially unwanted energy, it helps deal with me being an overcharged energizer bunny by using that energy in a non-harmful way.
I get too in my head, and I need to ground myself.
I’m thinking.
I’m about to talk to someone or do something. When you overthink, or when you have a lot on your mind, even talking to people is something you feel like you need some preparation for. Especially when you’re in a completely different environment, and you have to start over.
I need to remember something, like the “script”. What am I going to say to Person A? What are they going to do? How are they going to respond? How should I respond? These scripts are like mental teleprompters. I play numerous scenarios in my head, and I prepare a bunch of responses to them, whether it’s physical or verbal. It’s an internal peptalk. Sometimes you cancel out the responses that you don’t think will apply, and you zero in on what you’re going with. Needless to say, it takes some time to always do this, which you aren’t always offered.
When you live with an unpredictable abuser, you’re walking on eggshells. It can require you to apply extreme control over your tone, your volume, your facial expression, and your words. They nitpick at everything you say, so you learn to think before you talk. You have to take a step back somehow, collect yourself, and keep a level head, which is hard in an environment like that.
The impressions other people have of you can get you in trouble with your abuser. Whether you’re late for a class or you don’t turn in an assignment, the last thing you want is for someone to call your abuser.
They count on you to mess up somehow, so they have a “justification” to punish you. If you talk back or raise your voice, they can see this as a green light, because they’re making you react. And your reaction, no matter what, will probably piss them off.
So, thinking things through, including your tone of voice and what comes out of your mouth, are things you tend to pick up in that sort of environment.
Scene #2
Tumblr media
How am I going to handle this?
That’s what I find myself asking when I find myself in an unknown situation where I need to measure my response. The unknown tends to be borderline suspicious. Sure, living with someone like Neil can make you paranoid, but you’ve got some built in red flags in your court. You pick up things that others may not. To you, it’ll probably be common sense. In this situation, it IS common sense for Billy to be suspicious of Steve.
Flying off the handle immediately isn’t Billy’s style. It takes a considerable amount of control to even talk to Steve. Neil had shaken him up, and then Billy dealt with Karen. Now he’s having to deal with Steve lying to him about where Max is. But he uses force as a last resort. So much happened to him before this particular scene, that he was most likely a bundle of emotions and anxiety by the time he drove up to the Byers’ house.
While the audience knew what was going on, Billy didn’t. The fact that he actually tried to talk to Steve shows that he didn’t want for there to be a fight. He just wanted to get Max home.
“I don’t understand” is quite literally his theme all throughout his life. The entire time he was in Hawkins, he did not understand what was going on.
@ickypuppi3 pointed out that he fidgets so much with his fingers, like that scene with Max in the car at school when he’s holding his cigarette. The anxiety really comes through when he’s about to do something.
Scene #3
Tumblr media
Like in this scene, where he’s prepping to face Neil, who’s banging on his door, signaling that he’s in a hotheaded mood. How Neil’s “temperature” is will indicate what Billy’s reaction will be. Here, he has to face Neil’s heat with as much of a cool head as he can. He also knows that no matter what he does, Neil will blow a gasket.

i was going through the comments of the Exceptional Zed music video on youtube and there were people arguing about who deserves the credit of like the zombies and werewolves being accepted in seabrook
honestly i think Zed takes like 80% of the credit here, but that's just me.
What are your thoughts? I'm genuinely curious.

@ the person who asked me if they should touch grass. As always, I mean this in a kind friendly way but yes I’m sorry to say you need some distance. People were hurt. That’s not a valid concern and you just need to be like “I need to care about other people.” Sorry I’m not gonna even post that
