#okay starting from the beginning of where ppl usually dislike him. apple woods chapter.#he doesn’t give hero/partner the CHANCE to explain themselves despite them being relatively good recruits up until that point.#and that legit might be my only gripe with that chapter bc!!! stories need conflict! I LIKE the conflict in apple woods!!!#hero and partner being punished so something they didn’t do!#the misunderstanding! how team skull (Skuntank) actually outplays the main duo with a clever yet rotten trick. I LOVE that it segways into-#one of the more sweeter scenes of guild members looking out for eachother. I LIKE APPLE WOODS CONFLICT.#but chatot just. not giving them a chance. is so dumb.#I’d personally fix this by having a lil montage of hero/partner fucking up on jobs. A LOT. and chatot giving them a pass every time.#and let the perfect apple incident BE the one where he puts his foot down and doesn’t listen to them. bc he’d given them loads of chances.#and doesn’t want to hear any excuse.#but yeah. I legit dont mind him during that chapter except for that really stupid and frustrating moment.#NOW. CHAPTER 17.#UGGGGHHH WHERE DO I BEGIN#Him not believing hero and Partner about Grovyle and the future being in ruin? FINE. ACTUALLY GOOD. Before I went to bed I saw the Youtube notif that TADC was going to Netflix and it INVADED my dreams so vividly I have not had such an episodic sequential serialized cohesive dream in months it was literally its own chapter its own short story
#I was Pomni it was literally Pomni POV#Caine had cooked up some sporty adventure and I was like Ummm...... no#So I found a glitch where I could hide in a technically out-of-bounds area#I had a theory that if I stayed super close to the ground I wouldn't be in the range of Caine's mod powers or whatever#Some random girl was w me I don't think she was important#Anyways I started thinking “This could hurt. When they leave#the map will not have to exist.”#I'd be crushed by the nonexistence of the area I'm in. When they come back I'll load in somewhere slightly different#and be stuck in the walls."#DIDN'T HAPPEN everything was OK#But at some point I was like man... sure is boring and scary. Sure wish my friends were here.#So I ended up finding them anyway LMAO#I told them what happened cuz they were obviously concerned and Caine got his feelings hurt???#Like. surprising moment of clarity. Everyone was shocked and uncomfortable.#Bro was like “I try so hard for U guys 🥺 I just don't get it. Why didn't you just tell me you wanted to stay home??”#Most everyone was like IDC UR OUR JAILER!! #outer wilds#I DIDN'T WANT TO#especially cause the 'frights' weren't so bad#i was just gettin pretty frustrated trying to sneak past these mfers in the dark. like i wasted 3 whole loops just#getting kicked out by them over n over again till we all drowned#so i was hoping reduced frights might make them less deadly or smth#echoes of the eye spoilers#and it helped immensely it made them way slower i could actually like take my time and escape them without making a dumb mistake#(i'm not a good gamer. when i'm rushed i forget how buttons work)#i really like walking around without my lantern i basically explore everything i can without it first thing its greay#simulation moment#also i Saw that thing abt falling off the boat during the 'loading' periods which i might try at some point now that i actually like#made some progress again yipee#i saw a reel that showed an old person dying in the radius of the simulation and still loading into it so#i was thinking abt that bright bridge u can't get by. this might be crazy but the alarms can't wake the dead. right.#maybe i could like jump in the campfire or like fly into the ceiling a bunch it might be fun to try

Hello friend! I hope you're also well!
I ended up having a pretty good offline day, thank you :) Ended up finding some items I've been meaning to knock off my list of intended purchases for ??year+ probably?? So that's good!
Pepper is doing well, apart from still not eating much - currently I have a mealworm in there with him as he's refused to eat even while in his feeding enclosure, so he can take his time and hunt it a bit more free range
Unfortunately, the mealworm has? learned how to climb walls?? I can only assume it's a combination of Pepper having webbing nearly everywhere and using the daily misting moisture to stick to the surface of the wall but
????
He also has a "stick" (piece of cardboard - didn't want to have to cook sticks to kill any potential parasites) that he climbs on now and then :)
And he spends a bit more time down in the substrate/on his piece of cork bark now that it's not quite so overwhelming down there
He's even figured out the premade nest! :D
I'd like to get him some more enrichment hides, but he seems to be doing fairly well :) He keeps making hammocks and patrolling his territory - not showing signs of lethargy - so I'm hopeful it's just the cold that has him being picky

rewatching casualty and we're at ruby's first episode in casualty and sam and iain are so shitty to her. like yeah she's not perfect but like my dudes ?? wtf. yeah, she might have fucked up with daisy the second time, but what she did was literally what the guidelines of her job told her to do, whether that would be considered morally right by everyone or not.
sam and iain definitely aren't my favourite characters by any stretch but i honestly hated them this episode. ruby, to me at least, seems like she might be autistic (doesn't like eye contact, strict moral guide/follows rules, misunderstanding of allistics confusing social rules, etc) and they mocked and belittled her basically the entire episode (quite frankly, it felt a whole lot like ableism to me).

Someone tell me why I was always so dumb scared to use raytracing?

I mean using light already did make the pics a whole lot better even without it but these additional shadows really do make it looke ten time better. I tweaked around with it a bit today and the CPU temperature mostly stays like it does all the time I took pics before. Frames do drop a lot tho and I need to wait longer until reshade finished focussing again but thats alright I guess and 'normal'. xD My tactic is now: set everything up now before and then use Adaptive Graphics Quality mod to turn raytracing on, get back to reshade, let my setting refocus and take the final pic:

I’ve been awake for 38 hours. It is BED time.
#mott txt#I’ve been running our big salt kiln. it’s rough out here#I wish other ppl in my class would step up and be willing to learn to actually run it#it’s an out door kiln and it’s been snowing and cold so I’m cold to the bone#but also my face is sunburnt all to hell from checking the spy holes and all that. bc it runs at 2000 degrees#also I loaded it practically by myself and with the help of one other person.#which is batshit considering this kiln is the size of a small room#pisses me off that ppl make all this work and can’t be assed to learn how to load and fire the kilns#like hello. I’m also a student who has other classes not your fucking studio tech#but I’m president of our club and my profs intern so if no one shows up oh well. it’s on me to still do it all#I have a few people in our advanced class that do help a lot but they can’t watch the kiln by themselves#it’s a pretty complicated kiln and none of them know enough to run it.#idk what they’ll do next semester when I’m student teaching…..but that’s none of my business#anyways. this is an incredibly niche problem huh#welcome to the world of ceramics. if you’re firing in big kilns it’s an incredible community effort to load and fire them#but sometimes you get stuck with a bunch of lazy asshats#and I prefer my work in this kiln so I have no choice but to run it bc I want it to look nice#sigh#is anyone even still reading. sorrry I’m just sleep deprived and dumping in the tags lol
