Now, this is a doozy. Reconstructionist pastor and author George Grant was on The "Reformation Red Pill" podcast yesterday (12/8/24) and did what Christian nationalists often do with history — make it up. The podcast is hosted by ministers Brooks Potteiger and Joshua Haymes. Haymes is a pastoral intern at the Pilgrim Hill Reformed Fellowship, a Nashville-area church where Potteiger is the lead pastor. Pilgrim Hill is affiliated with Doug Wilson’s denomination (Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches). Oh, and according to published reports, Donald Trump’s nomination for Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is a church member and a fan of the podcast.

So, the fact that this podcast is so badly off the mark matters. And this is bad. [...] As for the Founders and their religious beliefs, I can’t name any historians (there might be some, I just can’t name them) who say all of the Founders were “Masons and deists.” The ones I know and read acknowledge that some were orthodox and some were not. In fact, some were members of Masonic Lodges. George Washington comes to mind. In fact, in 1793, Washington led the dedication of the Capitol building in a Masonic ceremony. However, some of the Founders, such as Roger Sherman and Oliver Ellsworth were quite orthodox. On the question of America’s Christian nation status, it doesn’t matter that much what they individually believed. What matters is what they did when they came together and wrote the charter documents. When they did that, they wrote a prohibition of religious tests for public service into the Constitution. They went further and added an amendment to the Constitution which made it impossible to establish a religion in the Unites States. The religion of the Founders is an interesting historical matter, but what they individually believed has little, if anything, to do with America as a Christian nation.

The December 8th, 2024 edition of the Reformation Red Pill podcast pumped out David Barton-esque talking points falsely claiming that the “Bible was debated during the Constitutional Convention.”

x Reader fics need to handle writing “reader” better sometimes

As a 6ft afab person who’s built like a man and has never been super feminine and has a more unique haircut that’s shorter I hate to read about “readers” petite, small, pale body and her “long flowy straight hair”, etc.

Reader is meant to be ambiguous!! And if it’s important to the plot please mention it at the beginning!!! If it’s not important to the plot why is it being included???

Some people who are reading may be tall, fat, skinny, short, or even somewhere in between. The readers could have a hijab, 4c hair, locks, braids, long hair, short hair, wavy, no hair and even more.

Stop making all readers so sweet and innocent, I want a reader who’s petty and sassy sometimes. I’ve noticed also that so many readers are either too baby to do anything or over powered.

Personally I also hate reading about obviously toxic men and relationships that the reader goes back to because they are “so in love”, like no please let me deck that sucker and leave them in the dust and be happier.

Also, if you label your post with the tag “___ x reader” or titled with “___ x reader” and then make descriptions and then ADD A NAME!!! It’s not an x reader fic and I heavily want to block you.

Since the hiccup wasn't scripted, Grant was on the verge of breaking out laughing and had to compose himself quickly. Stewart (apparently spontaneously) thought of hiccuping in the drunk scene, without telling Grant. When he began hiccuping, Grant turned to Stewart, saying, "Excuse me." Grant turned his head to stifle his laughter and said, "Nothing". The scene required only one take.

✩ literally the slowest burn ever. you two met in your first year at hogwarts but never even talked until years later, during a trip to hogsmeade or maybe a party.

✩ obviously, the two of you don’t like eachother at first because of your opposite houses. all your life you’ve been told gryffindors were cocky, stubborn and you shouldn’t go near them..

✩ definitely some sort of enemies/rivals to lovers trope with mutual pining. even worse if you have to compete against each other in class or quidditch

✩ “everyone can see it but them”… you try to brush it off but it’s obvious based on how your eyes lock from opposite sides of the great hall during meals, and while walking down the stairs to get to class.

✩ when you first interact, he’s surprised to see that there’s more to you than the sarcasm and bitterness you’re used to showing. he manages to make you laugh and he just stands there, savouring your reaction in surprise.

✩ you too realise that he’s actually not the enemy you were raised to stay away from, and find yourself enjoying how the two of you seem to complete eachother perfectly.

✩ a match made in heaven ! when he tends to make decisions on impulse, you’re here to ground him and make him think about it. on the opposite, when your pride takes over, he brings you down to earth and validates your feelings.

✩ sooo flirty and bantery - you two are constantly teasing eachother and being sarcastic, and you love how he matches your energy so well.

✩ once both of you let eachother in, it’s pure happiness and adoration. he lets you into his world and so do you, discovering how beautiful love can be when you start trusting someone.

✩ however, your friends warn you off and the slytherins don’t really support you, making you feel like you’re teaming up with the antagonist or something... i guess it’s the price to pay for such an amazing relationship.

mans looked pissed and didn't laugh with Carlos and George at all until George said "ahhh we shouldn't laugh" and at that point he does a smile but it slips off pretty fast and he does that little huff and goes back to being tired

like the earnest and loyal young teammate who's also gradually becoming friend to Lando, puffing up in outrage on his behalf

vs the older brothers/longtime friends to Lando who have a chuckle over that moment the same way he does with them when he's in their position

idk it's just so unbearably cute how Oscar's loyalty to Lando and him wanting to join in with the big boys play out but the loyalty to Lando winning just like how he chose not to hold his own trophy the way he and Lando usually do in the post race video bc that would be rubbing it in too much ;__;
