March 2024 Wk 1 & 2

Ongoing Series - Thai

Cherry Magic (Sat YouTube grey) ep 12 fin - Unfortunately, there was singing. But what can we do?

A soft charming warm hug of a show about crushes and mind reading and self worth, with no-fuss execution from a consummate team and an OG lead pair proving why they remain eternal and deserve to grow up. Look, here’s the thing, Cherry Magic is a great Thai BL in its own right not comparing it to any other iteration. But even when I do compare (and I've seen all the Cherries and read the manga) it still stands. This is a great show, a solid adaptation, and a pleasing take on the original yaoi. I personally like it better than the Japanese live action, but I think that’s because I just really like Thai BL and I LOVE TayNew. I doubted them for this and I shouldn’t have. They did a great job, as did the sides. I will say all the kissing was both present and better than any other iteration. As it should be. Definitely one for the rewatch rotation. 9/10 

Deep Night (Thurs iQiyi) ep 1 of 8 (10?) - Damn it, I love it. And I don't want to. It’s more classic BL than I thought it would be, and far less Only Friends or Playboyy. (Thank fuck.) We got a big cast and a lot of tropes going down out the gate, including SMITTEN popular hot guy versus nerd with secret identity. (Incidentally, Khem did drop into rude / informal when arguing with his Aunt and defending his ma. Bratty boy.) The leads have good chemistry (First always does), and everyone is very pretty. The main boy reminds me of J-Min's role (and look) in Love Class 2. I am entertained. (And faintly wonder why this isn't a MosBank vehicle.)

To Be Continued (Thai C3 Thailand grey) eps 1-3 of 8- High school sweethearts who had a bad break up reunite a decade later when both of them have full time jobs (celebrity & doctor). Dr Ji is a familiar face (hi Dream it's been a LONG time) and everyone is way too old for high school, but I guess I prefer this to child actors?

I'm enjoying it, actually, the cast may be older but they're solid as a result and the chemistry is on point for a pulp. Whether our celebrity is on the DL or cheating or something else remains to be seen but he sure is smitten. The way he LOOKS at Ji = hawt.

Frankly? Celebrity/doctor is a good pairing and this is a solid Thai BL. I hope we have a nice angsty reason for the break-up and we're not in another Promise situation. I like the sides too. Carry on, little show, I'm disposed to be pleased with you.

City of Stars (Fri iQIYI) eps 5-6 of 12 - I am enjoying it, actually. It’s incredibly silly. But I don’t really mind. STOP SINGING. 

1000 Years Old eps 3-4 of 12 - I love that these kids basically adopted a vampire pet. And one of them accidentally got a vampire boyfriend. This suddenly turned from a PNR into a family drama about domestic gays opening a food stall and I'm not mad about it. Nothing makes sense and I don't care because... rainbow umbrella!

A Secretly Love (Thai WeTV grey) eps 1 of 10 - I don’t love it. I make no bones about the fact that a pining uke rarely works for me, especially if he’s younger (cute supportive besties not withstanding), the power dynamic isn’t good. I always like Kimmon, he’s a stiff actor but v pretty. (I shallow af.) Still it’s time he started acting his age… literally. Having to watch ads again as well… for this? Ooof. I'm not sure I'm strong enough.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Perfect Propose (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 6 fin - It was very cute. I liked that there was uke instigated kisses. However I have some reservations on this one, much as I enjoyed it.

Adapted from Mayo Tsurakame’s manga, production team included Tadaaki Horai (My Love Mix-Up!) and Takeshi Miyamoto (Old Fashion Cupcake). Essentially Perfect Propose was about finding hope in a person when all other hope is gone. This show focuses on apathy, and perforce is somewhat apathetic and un-engaging especially as the pacing was off (and with only 6 episodes? now) However, this is countered by great visuals, good archetypes, and a clean story of childhood sweethearts reuniting after loosing their way in life. I landed on 8/10 mostly for a demanding younger seme and some great kisses. 

Unknown (Taiwan Tues Youku YouTube) eps 2-3 of 11 - Oh it’s great. I love it. I’m still worried by how gritty and "Taiwanese short-esk" it feels, but wow does this hit all my favorite taboo tropes and buttons. I also adore the little found fam, they the cutest gay older bros ever. The younger one who wants so bad to grow up and take care of the older one and pushes himself because into self sacrifice that’s the only model of love he has. ARGH. BOYS. Why so much pain, just smooch already! Sheesh. It's on YouTube for some of us, here's the schedule.

AntiReset (Taiwan Fri Viki/Gaga) eps 6-7 of 10 - They remain questionably cute, and that is probably going to be my ultimate review of this show. Awe cameo! (Hi babies, hope the ghosts are leaving you alone.) The irony does not escape me that the person in the relationship with the most emotional acumen is, in fact, the robot and not the human. I'm sure that's meant to be deep.

Love is Better the Second Time Around AKA Koi wo Suru nara Nidome ga Joto (Japan Gaga) ep 1 of 6 - A tortured second chance romance featuring a reported and a successful celebrity(?) academic. The kid actors look nothing like their adult counterparts, but they do look much younger. So, okay. Ah the utter embarrassment of first love. Oh I like it a lot, so very messy Japanese emo. Sigh. Here we go again.

Although I Love You and You AKA Sukiyanen Kedo Do Yaro ka (Japan Thurs Gaga) eps 8-9 of 10 - They are a cute couple. They both trying so hard and so confused and awkward and polite in trying to understand each other but TERRIBLE at communication. 

My Strawberry Film (Japan Thurs Gaga) eps 3-4 of 8 - I don’t know how I feel about this. But I do know it’s not my thing because it’s not BL. I’ll finish it because it’s short but… meh.

What Did You Eat Yesterday Season 2 AKA Kinou Nani Tabeta? Season 2 (Japan Gaga) 10 eps - will binge when I have any spare time. 2024 is crazy busy for me so far.

The Servant and the Young Master (Vietnam YouTube) - I will try when I have a window of time.

Began Beginning (Myanmar YouTube) - A Burmese BL? @heretherebedork vouched for it, so I will watch eventually.

It's airing but...

Dead Friend Forever (Thai iQIYI) - finished it's run and I won't be watching it. It's horror with BL elements and the ending, well, let's just say that's a "no thank you" from me.

Ossans Love Season 2 (Japan Gaga) - 5 years later, will anything have changed? This is Japan so… no. I'm not watching this. I dislike this franchise.

Time the series (Tue Gaga/YT) 10 eps - dropped it at ep 4.

Takumi-kun (2023) movie version AKA Takumi-kun Series 6: Nagai Nagai Monogatari no Hajimari no Asa released on FOD 3/5/2024. The original project was a 6 ep series. Having seen all the previous iterations and read the (terrible) yaoi I admit to being intrigued. If anyone finds eng subbed please let me know with a link in comments or in a DM? 3/21 Two Worlds (Thai IQIYI) 10 eps - announced here. One of those "he's dead Jim so time travel" thingames staring MaxNat. I'm over them but Asia flipping loves this trope and I do adore MaxNat. Phupha (Gun) and Khram (Nat) love each other but Phupha is murdered. Then Khram is pulled to a parallel world where, 12 years ago, Khram and Tai (Max) were in love. However, Khram was killed by Thai’s dad. Now Tai finds alter-Khram apparently alive. But then there is ALSO an alter-Phupha (played by Gun Thanawat who is Khom the repressed butler bodyguard from Unforgotten Night).

Henry’s great grandfather waging war and trying to annex Texas. Absurd. Henry’s not interested in it ruining his life, too. He doesn’t like Alex, but he believes wholeheartedly in their right to fuck if they want to.

Darlin’ and Cutie (separate) HCs

For one of my favorite followers @ajfromabove ! Good job on your project! Hopefully these are good ^^

- Cutie is ridiculously tall, very noticeable height difference between them and Geordi.

- Tank does not snap off Kit-Kats or Hersheys, they eat both chocolate bars in 2 bites max. 

- They also have a tendency to not separate the paper on Fruit Roll-ups when eating them. You can imagine where I’m going with this.

- Cutie had a magic 8-ball as a kid that they keep around in their drawer.

- While at the Pack Solstice, Sweetheart scared the shit out of Tank, and this triggered their Fight-or-Flight response, which caused Tank to try and punch Sweetheart. The only problem is that Sweetheart was intangible, meaning Tank just punched a big ass hole in the wall. The solstice was at David and Angel’s house, so SH and Tank had to make up an excuse to leave at the same time immediately before David found out (because Angel didn’t care).

- Tank has shifted and chased their tail for 2 hours straight on their way to a pack meeting before. David found them on his way out the meeting still chasing it.

- Cutie has, and let me make this clear, the MOST RELAXING room ever. Remember when I said Lasko had surround sound speakers that play raining sounds and like 8 pillows? Yeah Cutie has all of that tenfold. When Geordi moved in with them, they had to sell some of it to make room, but they kept each and everyone of their pillows and bought headphones that play relaxing music.

- Cutie knows how to get rid of normal headaches easily. Whether it’s tea, medicine, or a nap, the max time they have a headache is usually 3 hours due to their tactics.

- Tank hasn’t been to the dentist in 4 years, but their dental hygiene is also through the roof.

- Cutie cannot, for the life of them, climb over a fence or jump over one.

- Cutie always dresses up as the same thing for Halloween, I just don’t know what they dress up as.

- Tank dressed as a Vampire for Halloween once, but the fake teeth they got was less sharp than their actual teeth so they didn’t fit, and they were pissy the whole day because of it. (Yes Sam has teased them about it)

- Cutie is a giggly drunk, who is extra flattery towards Geordi (You know those scenarios where Character A is drunk and goes “don’t talk to me my boyfriend is better” to Character B, the boyfriend, and is all flattered and blush-y? That.)

- Tank doesn’t usually get drunk but they’re the kind who gets drunk and then you don’t see them again the rest of the night.

- Tank does pull-ups like there’s no tomorrow, their biceps are NOTHING to joke about.

- Cutie had a parrot once but it passed a year before they met Geordi.

- Tank isn’t good at cooking but Sam is teaching them how. David takes offense to this because he’s offered to teach them how and they declined instantly. 

- Cutie has one of the best wardrobes in the cast. On par with Baaabe and Milo.

- Tank had made cupcakes once with Sweetheart’s help in their last Solstice before going to Washington. It was supposed to be for the whole pack but then they said they’re exclusively for David and Asher. The frosting had the same color palette as the gay pride flag (the blue and green one).

- Sweetheart had to make 4 batches of cookies after Tank proclaimed the cupcakes were only for Asher and David since they promised they were bringing something for the Solstice.

- Asher didn’t understand the reference behind the cupcake design but said they were pretty. David glared at Tank for the rest of the night and Tank burst out laughing whenever they made eye contact.

- Cutie and Sweetheart do know each other, or have at least heard each other’s names in passing.

- Cutie has a full morning routine that even Geordi is scared to break.

- Tank is terrified of pregnant spiders and calls them “Satan’s piñata’s”.

- Cutie fantasizes of living in a small cottage in the woods near a stream.

- Tank believes living in one of them is the fastest way to get killed and never found.

- Tank makes fun of people who bought blue checkmarks on twitter.

- Cutie loves all the Sims games individually (they only have Sims 4).

- Tank has played Minecraft with Angel ONCE. It ended with them fist fighting 3 zombies and a skeleton at once bc they refused to run away or get a weapon, and ended with them being killed by a creeper right after they won.

- Cutie has so much blackmail on so many politicians it’s crazy.

- Tank had a full group of friends in their old pack, which is why it took a while for them to warm up to the Shaw Pack.

- BOTH Cutie and Tank can pick up Geordi and Sam like they’re cats.

- Additionally, Tank has done the same thing to Milo, but only when he’s shifted.

- Tank would’ve used ChatGPT to do their essays back in high school if it existed. Instead they just never did their essays unless they felt like it.

- Cutie doesn’t get social cues.

- Cutie is, without a doubt, extroverted asf.

- Tank was a skater through middle school and high school, and got a concussion once.

- Tank absolutely HATES the nickname Precious. Even the word makes their skin crawl. Only instance they’ll willingly stick around when someone says it is if they’re watching Lord of the Rings.

- Whenever they order pizza, Cutie leaves the garlic for Geordi because they know how much he likes it.

- Tank sucks the frosting off of cupcakes before eating them.

- Cutie used to watch MLP like their life depended on it.

- Cutie owns heelys, that’s the closest they’ve gotten to skating.

- Tank has a BIG ass family, 7 of their family members live in Washington, the rest are kind of scattered around the US.

- Tank’s real name is something they consider “lame and  stupid” so they just go by Tank, and usually glare at anyone who says their actual name (Arden is the main perpetrator).

- Sam didn’t know Tank’s actual name until he went to the winter solstice and Arden came out of nowhere saying hi, and then their name. Sam was confused about who Arden was talking about. Tank slapped their hand over her mouth and started harshly whispering something unintelligible to her.

- Tank wouldn’t say who the name belonged to, so he went to Milo, who explained that it’s Tank’s actual name, they just don’t like it.

- He teased them with it once but that resulted in him being stuck under a shifted Tank for 3 hours.

- Cutie is photogenic as FUCK.

- Honey and Cutie have been friends since high school. Honey was extremely rude towards Cutie but they stuck around because they read their mind and realized Honey likes Cutie being around. It’s an Asher/David situation.

- Cutie helped Honey and Guy meet in college

- Don’t let Tank play Kahoot. Just don’t.

WIP Wednesday (5/8) | Vampire Andrew AU (Part 129)

At first Andrew thought he was joking, but a quick look into Kevin’s head revealed that he had no idea what Andrew was talking about. How foolish he felt, sitting there with a love letter about to slide off his tongue. He had to get away. So he did. 

Now Andrew is walking around the bit of woods that lies behind Nicky’s house. And kicking himself for ever entertaining the notion. It’s his own fault really. He knew it meant nothing. He knew Kevin was three sheets to the wind and about to pass out.

He’s not even sure why he’s disappointed now. 

Dating Kevin Day was a terrible idea. One of the worst Andrew’s had in years. The worst part is that he wants it. He wants Kevin and it’s a crying shame because, of all the things he’s ever wanted, Kevin is simultaneously the closest and most out of reach.

He’s so far out of Andrew’s league it’s laughable. Kevin is beautiful and important and special and smart. (Well, he has his moments anyway. ...Sometimes.) Andrew just isn’t good enough for him. He’s a fucking Minyard for crying out loud!

Once he’s far enough from the house that he can only hear the thoughts of complete strangers, Andrew stops to sit down cross legged under a tree that seems to have the least birds in its branches. He rips up a bit of grass and he takes a deep breath before continuing with his self loathing spiral. How in the name of ice cream had he let himself become so deluded?

Andrew tosses the blades of grass into the breeze and watches them float before hitting the ground. That’s exactly what would’ve happened! If he’d made his speech, if Kevin had remembered, they could’ve tried but it never would’ve worked. It might’ve been good for a while, but eventually gravity would have had to kick in. 

And… Splat.

All of a sudden an image flutters into his head and Andrew cackles, imagining Aaron’s face if he’d come downstairs to find him and Kevin cuddling on the sofa. Well, that definitely wouldn’t have happened. Even if they’d had that talk, they wouldn’t have gone straight to PDA. Because no one knows that Andrew is gay, except for Renee. (And Coach, but that was an accident.) 

What’s more, no one— maybe including Kevin— knows that Kevin is bisexual. 

On some level, Andrew supposes he must be aware. But, for a man who regularly gets off thinking about Andrew, he seems skittish about the whole queer thing. Perhaps Andrew should let Nicky drag them all to a Pride march or something, see how Kevin would react to that.

God, Aaron would be unbearable. Not because he actually hates gay people, but just because he’s Aaron.

It must have been around eighteen o'clock when the door to his office opened on a slightly uncomfortable Choi-Mi, shifting from one foot to the other, glancing behind her back. Taehyung straightens his eyes from what he's doing, a slight smile blooming on his lips as he looks at his little secretary, before wrinkling his nose at the merry-go-round she's serving him.

“- Is there a problem, Choi-Mi?

- Mr. Kim, there's a lady here to see you.

- Well, why don't you go in?

- But I'm not sure…”

She plays with the hem of her dress, looking for a spot to look at like when she's sure she's about to do something stupid, and Taehyung twitches a little. He straightens up, ready to go and see this new person who's obviously disturbed his secretary. He wrinkles his nose a little as the zombie stands in front of the door, nodding curtly as she plays with the knot in her hair.

“- No. Mister Kim… You shouldn't..

- What's going on, Choi-Mi?

- Ah. He's here all right then.”

Behind Choi-mi, a small woman, brown hair held in a half ponytail, a slim figure, a black dress. She looks Taehyung up and down, surely like the most par of vampires, telling herself that humans were different from what they'd thought. The journalist wrinkled his nose; he didn't know this face, had never met it, but he quickly recovered, taking a step forward under the desperate gaze of his secretary. Then he understood why, there, clinging to the young woman's leg, the little boy whose father no one was supposed to wonder. Jungkook must have been proud of her offspring, and Taehyung felt his heart clench, holding back a hiccup of surprise as he quickly resumed a neutral expression, a polite smile. When all he wants to do is ask when he missed the episode of the pregnant companion, who looks after the baby while he goes off to play.

“- Excuse my rudeness, but I don't think we've met, have we?

- Madame Jeon. Well, future Mrs. Jeon, you can call me Lysa. And this is her son, Kiyeon.

- Kim Taehyung, the owner of the newspaper. What can I do for you?

- I'm here for the interview. I read your latest article on marriage.

- Oh sure, come on in. Choi-Mi, bring me some tea.

- Sir.

- And some cakes for little Kiyeon.

- He only eats cakes without sugar. And no glucose. And no Ivanovich cupcakes. They're… Disgusting.”

The zombie nods gently before going into the kitchen to see if they have anything for the poor kid. Gently, Taehyung indicates for her to take a seat, while he grabs his notebook and settles down opposite her. He stared at her, something bothering him, but he couldn't put his finger on what could be making him so suspicious. Jungkook had never spoken to her about her, or even said he'd potentially had a relationship with a woman; he'd always said he was gay. So how could he have fallen for a tigress? Questions burned his lips, and he didn't hesitate to begin his real interrogation.

“- So you and Mr. Jeon, how did it go?

- A real fairy tale. We met at university and it was love at first sight for both of us. Oh sure, I'm not easy, so we took our time. Then our son was born.

- To hear you tell it, you'd have to say that Mr. Jeon made an impression on you.

- But he did, when Kiyeon was conceived.”

She points delightedly to the mark on her shoulder. The tiger's lily, a little duller than hers, but there it is. Taunting him, as if to tell him it was all a deception, a lie. He smiles again, politely, tense, letting the pen scrape the paper quickly, becoming quite serious all of a sudden. The door opens again to reveal Choi-mi, carrying tea and sweets, which she sets down in front of the two of them. She then bows politely, before stumbling back to the exit. Lysa doesn't hesitate to dig into the sugar-laden cupcakes, leaving the drier ones for the poor kid, who had remained quite silent. Taehyung watches the scene unfold, the merry-go-round. The child wants a cupcake, but his mother refuses, gently pushing him away, almost throwing him the ones the child doesn't really seem to like. But Taehyung makes a scathing comment, before resuming the conversation.

“- So, may I say that you are Mr. Jeon's bride?

- Of course, who else? A pure blood, with a pure blood. Both our families will be delighted.

- Of course.”

He doesn't really have the heart to continue the exchange, so he invites her to come back later, which she accepts. Hoping that this time, her husband would be here. She leaves as she arrived, like a shattering storm in the distance, leaving Taehyung feeling capsized, ready to cry. Choi-Mi remains silent until the human takes a deep breath, turning to look at his secretary.

“- Cancel all appointments with Mr. Jeon.

- Mr. Kim.

- Tell him his little privileges are over. And prepare for the next conference, where we'll announce Mr. Jeon's big secret to the world.

- Are you sure you…?

- Yes. Make it official. I refuse to be Mr. Jeon's little bitch.”

Anger was an understatement, Taehyung felt betrayed, outraged, he had the heavy impression that they were playing with his feelings, he grabbed his computer, closing it a little abruptly before heading for the exit, trying not to cry, he had to stay strong, not show the slightest weakness by the time he reached his car. Where he let himself go in the torrent of tears that shook his shoulders, clutching the steering wheel, he drew a long breath. He's soaked with rain and tears when he rings his best friend's doorbell. Jimin looks at him a little confused, but opens his arms wide when he throws himself at him, letting himself go in the pain of having been tricked, as he explains the situation to the wizard. Jimin remains silent, holding him in his tender arms, before letting him return to his large, comfortable bed. Listening to him calm down in a stony silence.

“- Are you sure?

- She had the mark Jimin. How could I let myself be fooled? I thought for a moment it would be me.

- I… You're going to be okay?”

Taehyung doesn't see Jimin's eyebrows furrow, or even his small gaze lost in conversation, trying to find the right words. But Taehyung isn't here to hear mere snippets of words, but to be listened to, understood. Jimin keeps his comments to himself, letting his best friend drift off to sleep as he strokes his back, his gaze lost in the distance.

“- He doesn't want to see you anymore.

- But I need to see him. You don't understand.

- Yes, I don't understand. I don't understand how you can play with people's feelings like that.

- Move over wizard. Or else…

- Or else what?”

A week had passed, slowly for Taehyung, agonizing in his best friend's house, Jungkook couldn't enter here, he wasn't allowed to, so he'd been walking in circles, running his hands through his hair, trying to calm his nerves, an eye contact with Taehyung or just something. Driving him crazy, the article was out, sounding like a bomb. How could this bitch have gone to see Taehyung, with this nonsense, he should have killed her the very day the deception had reached him. But he was too kind, Jungkook told himself, she didn't deserve it. Now he was itching to dismember her, but first he had to see the human. He could feel it, Taehyung wasn't well. It was a feeling that tore at him, took his breath away as he took deep breaths, his fingers running through her hair. The vampire didn't know how to stay calm, he felt on edge, so he stepped back to make sure he didn't attack Yoongi's little protégé, even if he didn't want to rip his pretty little head from his shoulders.

“- By Jungkook. Please. You're making it difficult.

- I can't, Jimin. Do you understand? I can't.”

Jimin pinched his lower lip, before looking behind him, Taehyung wasn't well, literally. He was feverish, pale, breathing hard. And if the sorcerer listened to him, he'd let him into his home to let him go and help Taehyung. He closed his eyes, drew in a small breath before begging him with his eyes this time; he really wanted to do the right thing, and Taehyung had told him he never wanted to have anything to do with Jungkook again.

" - I'm sorry. But Taehyung was clear.

- He'll die if I don't see him.

- Go home, Jungkook.”

Jimin closed the door, leaving Jungkook knocking again against the wood panel. He must have really wanted to get in to help Taehyung, the vampire was destroying his hands. But Jimin was far more worried about Taehyung. He was delirious, his eyes sometimes rolling as if possessed by a demon, and he confessed to being a little overwhelmed, even more so when the human started vomiting blood, completely panicking the wizard, who finally decided to let the door open on the vampire. He seems to be in the same state as Taehyung, short of breath, glassy-eyed, sweating coldly, which the vampire seems to ignore. He runs to bite directly into Taehyung's flesh under Jimin's furrowed brows, opening his mouth to speak, to complain, to scream at him. But he held back when he could see Taehyung's color returning, and Jungkook seemed to be getting better too.

“- We can't be separated. Wizards all know that. Vampires who mark depend on the person marked. And vice versa.

- I…

- Does your grimoire really teach you nothing?”

Jimin remained silent, the pic had been delivered in a terrifying tone, but had hit the nail on the head. No, his grimoire doesn't teach him anything. He pinches his lower lip as Jungkook picks up Taehyung, carrying him to the exit, slamming the door behind him.

“- What a jerk.”

8. movies or tv shows? MOVIES. i suck so bad at watching tv shows because i always get sooo scared about wasting my time so i rather just watch a 2 hour movie and get it over with. this is also why i never get thru tv shows. i still havent properly watched all of star trek TOS....even when i was properly obsessed with it.

20. preferred place to write (i.e., in a note book, on your laptop, sketchpad, post-it notes, etc.)? i honestly really prefer my laptop. notes are good but i make so many typos bc i type so fast. in class i take notes in my sketchbook. and sometimes i write down like little story segments in my sketchbook as well when i dont feel like typing it up on my notes app.

21. obsession from childhood? cats (is it obvious), ancient egypt, LPS, warrior cats, hollywood undead. in that order. probably

22. role model? i don't think i have one, there's people who have influenced me and how i behave (like my mom and dad. obviously.) but there's never been anyone who i like... look up to??? the same way that idolization is such a weird and foreign concept to me because everybody is fucked up and you can't take 1 person to be the end all be all because... well... you know. you'll end up disappointed. there's never going to be anyone who you agree with 100% or sb that you condone all the actions/behaviours of. + if its someone who you dont know personally like a celebrity or some author or fuckall whatever, You dont know them, how can they be your role model?? like it doesn't fit in my head, it's too "end all be all" title to give to someone, even if its your family member.... you get what im talking about?

i could write a longer post about my thoughts on "idolization" and "role models" in the web scene because im so sick of people getting disappointed bc their lovely internet crush did something weird that they didnt like. sorry this got derailed.

Based on the Manhwa Love Supremacy Zone by Hwacha, this will star actors Lee Tae Vin, Cha Jun Wan, Oh Min Su and Cha Woon Ki. The plot of the drama is based on Tae Myung Ha, a young man who is dropped into a game based off of a novel that he knows. His mission is to make another player, Cha Yeo Woon happy. Cha Yeo Woon is Myung-Has favourite character in the novel. But then the game starts going completely different from the novel.

Love in the Big City

Movie adaptation of Booker nominated famous coming of age novel ‘Love in The Big City’ by Park Sang-Young. A cynical yet fun loving student writer name Young pinballs from home, to class, to Tinder matches. He and Jaehee, his female best friend and roommate, frequent nearby bars where they push away their worries about life, love, and money with soju and Marlboros. But as time passes Jaehee settles down and leaves Young to face his problems on his own, finding comfort in the arms of the series of men, including one whose handsomeness is matched by his coldness and another who might be the great love of his life. 4. King gets jealous when others take his sister away to do teenager-related activities. but he will not harm them or put them in danger he's learned his lesson.

5. Edric is one of his favorite people to discuss feelings of inequity and insecurities. He does call him "Blight Brother" a lot because he does want him to think of him like a brother!

6. King calls Emira "Blight Sister" not only because Emira is also too close to Eda, but because he doesn't want to leave her out on the nicknames.

7. Speaking with Emira is easy for him because he enjoys her chaotic and funny nature. [bonus] King is known to cling to people he's attached to especially when sleepy.

8. Willow's lap is one of his favorite places to curl up and nap.

9. Gus and King are a deadly duo don't let them hatch plans together.

10. Amity and King have a "Rocky" relationship to say the least at least at the start. He does hold the cupcake thing over her head, but it's more of a teasing water-under-the-bridge joke for him now.

20. King climbs all over Boscha like a jungle gym just to make her play tag with him!

21. Hunter is his favorite person to get scratches to his belly from (besides Luz) that's Rare

22. If Boscha's too tired to yell or shout at him or she's sick. He will actually curl up by her and keep her warm.

23. King learns by example and he pays a lot of attention to Blight Siblings and Hunter (Wasp) in how to go absolutely feral.

24. King will become Gus and Willow's fanboy when they do the powerful glowing eyes.

25. King will visit Alador while he's working and bring him a bagged lunch.

26. King tries to help Emira with her hair braid but winds up getting stuck while mid-braiding stuck to her head in the braid.

27. King gets visits from the collector on special weekends they have a really strong best friend bond.

Promptlet: Malec Early Meeting

Izzy and Jace start clubbing early because Shadowhunters consider themselves adults around fourteen when they begin full mission status at the Institute. So, sixteen year old Alec just sighs and brings his Advanced Clave Law seminar work to Pandemonium and sits in the corner of the bar with a thick legal text and his battered spiral notebook for his rough draft essays. He doesn’t care if Jace and Izzy are taking field assignments, they’re still his little siblings and need a chaperone.

Magnus, obviously, starts hearing gossip from his bemused bartenders about the young nephilim downing club sodas with lime while frantically highlighting a battered copy of the Accords and decides he needs to figure out what's going on. Immediately.

So, Magnus ends up chatting with Alec (who, as it turns out, really likes the Shirley Temple Magnus snaps up for him in what was supposed to be a joke) and starts flipping through Alec's latest homework assignment. Magnus blinks, snaps up another Shirley Temple to keep Alec busy, and carefully reads the essay twice over, pulling out his own notebook (bound leather and fountain pen with a gold nib of course) halfway through. Alec found a loophole, a big loophole, that would exempt Downworlders from being questioned without notification to their faction leader. 

Alec is an absolute disaster of a baby gay whenever Magnus so much as says hello or looks in his general direction, but, once he starts arguing the Law? He is vicious and ruthless and sharply concise. (Although Magnus becomes a little bit of a disaster himself when Alec absentmindedly starts chewing on his cherry stem while debating the finer points of interpreting The Clave vs. HOTI-Beijing, 1823.)

Ragnor comes over all the way from England just to see Magnus utterly lose his cool at this now seventeen year old shadowhunter who is literally drinking Shirley Temples and eating his weight in the extra cherries the bartenders slip him because they adore him too. Also, in terms of relationship dynamics? I think it would be kind of fun to explore Alec having a gigantic crush on Magnus (and Magnus just kind of utterly adoring Alec in turn between his obvious looks and, more importantly, his intelligence and his sharp humor and just .. everything) but also realizing that Alec is seventeen.

Alec is much more open (not that he had a snowball's chance in hell of hiding his Gigantic Crush on the High Warlock from anyone in Pandemonium except his siblings), and wages what amounts to pretty much open warfare to get Magnus to date him. He's insistent that Shadowhunters don't mature as slowly as mundanes (which.. fair) and makes bulleted lists and actions plans for every reason Magnus tries to say he deserves better/Magnus is too old/Alec is too young/etc.

And.. just how the Downworlders slide a stray Shirley Temple across the table for advice? Alec starts bringing little vouchers for a certain amount of advice time (or maybe little cupcakes or chocolate chip cookies that he makes for Jace and Izzy or something?) and slides them furtively across the table.

"Where might one take the High Warlock of Brooklyn out on a date?"

And then somehow two days later Magnus ends up in Central Park responding to a call from one of his warlocks and instead Alec is waiting there with a picnic lunch and a blanket and looking very, very smug.

This teenage Shadowhunter is outsmarting him. What even is this?

Also, Can you imagine the first time an old fling of Magnus' portals in to Pandemonium for the evening, expecting a night of fun, and the moment they ask where Magnus is at the bar, every Downworlder in hearing distance is glaring? Suddenly a good dozen wolves and vampires put aside their decades old fights and start running interference to keep this brazen interloper away from where Alec is holding court ranting about the Clave's shoddy grammar and lack of consistent position on Oxford commas (which, how dare) and how that can be used to interpret their latest ruling in three different ways, depending on what side you want to fight on.

(Magnus is sighing and staring dreamily from across the table.)

One day, Camille starts her usual nastiness and trying to get Magnus to come crawling back and Magnus feels .. nothing for her. The only thing Magnus feels is rage that Camille would try to interfere when he's clearly ... dating someone now.

And Magnus blinks wildly internally because holy shit he's dating Alec. WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN MAGNUS DOES NOT KNOW

I do think Magnus would hold off on anything physical until Alec was what Magnus considered of age, so think how fun it would be to explore how the two of them date when their primary love language can't include sex?

Think of all the cuddles and the literal sleeping together and the hand holding and the forehead kisses and, excuse me but did I mention the cuddles? I really want Magnus and Alec cuddling on Magnus' throne at Pandemonium after a hard patrol and Alec falling asleep and all the Downworlders just kind of cooing at their very favorite nephilim.

(I also imagine an impressively oblivious pair of siblings who don't realize their brother isn't just moping in a corner while they dance for literal years.)

When Alec is older maybe Jace and Izzy start trying to subtly tell him it's okay to be gay, he doesn't have to hide it - they'll still love him, and Alec is just .. like .... 'what are you talking about?' as he smugly claims his gorgeous boyfriend.
