Moonbound magic users have different eyes from Sunbound magic users.

Moonbound magic users are more adapted to the night, so their pupils are generally bigger. They simply aren't able to shrink as far as the ones from Sunbound magic users. Instead, their pupils fill out almost all of their iris when it is dark, giving them a better night vision.

Sunbound magic users have this advantage during the day. They probably don't have a lot of trouble looking straight into the sun, meaning they don't really need sunglasses in the summer. Just imagine you didn't have to worry about the sun randomly trying to kill you by shining straight into your face while you are driving.

Their pupils still arrange themselves to the light, but the spectrum is different for Moonbound's and Sunbound's.

This has many side effects:

-Moonbound magic users are more likely to need glasses because their eyes are destroyed by the sun.

-Sunbound users have a lot of troubl moving around in the dark -> almost all Sunbound children are afraid of the dark because they can't see anything.

-Moonbound magic users look more cute, while Sunbound magic users sometimes look quite scary.

okay time to rant about a parallel that NO ONE TALKS ABOUT

In Asher’s post-inversion audio, he tells babe how scared he was to make big choices for the pack. He sobs to them about David being so great making decisions when he can’t make even make one.

“Babe, how am I supposed to be a leader in the pack when I can’t … I can’t even…” - Asher

BUUUUUTTTTTT, In the Summit Porter tells the pack that they could get a big break on the close knit case; Sweetheart would need to cloak themselves and go find out more information. But David isn’t there to tell them they can.

So who does? ASHER.

Asher fulfills that leadership role within himself by making that big of a choice. When he tells David he said they should, David asks Asher if he’s sure that they can do it.

Asher says they can, and David gives him the approval that Asher’s been aching for.

It’s a gorgeous thing within Asher to see him believe in himself to be a real leader for the Shaw pack. and that now he sees himself as someone the pack can actually trust.

This is why I love Asher.

Some things I’ve noticed with icons (part 2):

1. David and Milo

David’s icon is a close up of his wolf form’s teeth - because that’s what David as a character is on the outside. When we first met him he was the tsundere, the mean guy, in a position of power. Bark and bite. That’s all he was until his character was fleshed out. It’s what people who don’t know him as well, see him as - he’s a man who gives orders. He’s seen as his words, his power. The sharpness of his teeth, the force of his authority. But the phrase “all bark and no bite” doesn’t apply to David. He gives orders and lives within them. For example, he ordered for the ward to come down in the inversion - and he put himself in there to fight the battles he had a part of causing. He’s respected for his authority because he matches his words with his actions. He’s equally bark and bite.

Milo’s icon is his wolf form. As someone has said ( @breezysuffers ), Milo looses his wolf in every universe. It’s a vital part of his identity. His wolf form is what he’s made fun of in earlier audios and it’s what he uses to save thousands of lives. Milo and his wolf form are so intertwined that it is as crucial part of his identity as any other part of his life. Milo is defined by his wolf, its presence, and its absence.

so since it’s canon that darlin’ has scars the first time david saw them (bc i hc the majority of them were caused by quinn in one way or another) was when he first confronted darlin

the first time the rest of the pack saw them was at the pack meeting

and that was only the ones they couldn’t have hidden under fabric and clothing as easily

i do think that especially at first darlin’ would have tried to hide their sacrs from the rest of the pack, and some from sam bc they were already being put on the spot and were ashamed enough about the situation they’d put their family and friends in already, they weren’t going to add fuel to that fire

so darlin’ slowly getting more comfortable around the pack again and wearing shorter sleeves sometimes, my version of darlin normally wears a bandanna around their neck to hide the scars that quinn left there. eventually they would stop wearing that around the pack, they would stop worrying about them being angry or disappointed with them for what choices they made

These two hardly need an introduction but you're getting one anyways, it's Angel and David to add to the Shaw pack alongside Milo and Darlin!

Darlin tells ppl to kill themselves as like a joke. It can be about anything at all, whether it be a minor inconvenience, a cringey joke, etc. It was smth they picked up when they were younger playing video games and they just never gave it up LMFAOO.

When Ash is teasing Darlin and Sam being cutesy while they’re readying up for some gamering Darlin yells “DIE DIE DIE DIE” into the mic loud enough that some of it cuts out. Ash cracks up because even through the mic peaks, he can hear how embarrassed they are, and the smile in their voice when they say it. David knows them well enough that he’s turned their mic down long before they started the call and Milo jumps because he never expects it

There was a time where David said a really bad joke and Darlin reflexively tells him to kill himself but they catch themselves fast enough before it goes off. They stare at him wide eyed and David lightly glaring at them. They both snicker about it after a moment of silence.

DAVID/SWEETHEART FRIENDSHIP SUPREMACY RAHHHH

I like to think David and Sweetheart are really close especially when you consider they’ve been apart of the pack longer than the other mates (and NO, I’m not considering Darlin one of the mates I mean Sam)

I like to think they have one of those sibling bonds where they just fuck with each other

Like imagine it’s just the two of them and Sweetheart comes out of no where and is just like, “I could take you down in an actual fight.”

David’s shocked at first but laughs and then Sweetheart laughs even though they were dead serious

And yes I do whole heartedly believe Sweetheart could kick David’s ass if he wasn’t shifted
