As much as I like to be optimistic, I really think that Ponyboy would be the kind of person to not come back to his hometown much, if at all. As much as he loves his brothers and the friends he left behind, there’s too many memories associated with the streets of Tulsa. He couldn’t handle the sick feeling in his stomach whenever he walked near a certain street, hated the looming reminder of the empty lot, and outright avoided the park all together. The loss was suffocating him slowly, even in his own home. The constant pain of his mother not making breakfast, his father not reading the paper never got easier. So when he got a scholarship for a school in Massachusetts, he applied immediately. He needed to get out of Tulsa, out of Oklahoma, and away from all of this. It wasn’t even the bad memories he wanted to escape. He couldn’t live his life knowing that walking by a certain alley would remind him of the times he got high or did something stupid with his buddies from school. So he left.

After college, he moved into an apartment in the city. He works as an editor for a newspaper, and he gets a cat. The big city is almost comforting to him, since there’s too much for him to associate places with people or events in his mind. Besides, the quiet of his apartment is relaxing as well. He likes living alone.

Also, as much as I hate to say it, his relationship with his brothers does not stay the same. This happens as people grow older - they stop relying on their immediate family. The Curtis Brothers are no exception. He calls nearly everyday his first semester. Then it becomes once a week, to once a month, to maybe twice a year once he’s graduated.

He doesn’t visit for years either. It’s harder coming back after being gone for a while, and he just doesn’t want to. He doesn’t want to go back, now knowing that one of his high school friends is dead (shot, like Dally was). He doesn’t want to go back, knowing that he doesn’t know the members of his gang anymore. He doesn’t know what happened to Steve and Evie, he doesn’t know if Two-Bit is still a drunk. Most of all, Pony doesn’t want to go back because he can’t remember Johnny’s voice, and he doesn’t want to walk the streets without him. It feels wrong.

The only thing that can get him to come back is a funeral. He flew in during the early morning, on a gray and cloudy day that mirrored how everyone was feeling. He walked through Tulsa as fast as possible, ignoring the lingering emotions. He stood outside of his childhood home (it was being sold-nobody lived there now). He stayed in Soda’s house, where he lived with his wife and daughter (whom Pony had last seen when she was a baby, right before he left for college; she’s six now). He didn’t see Two-Bit at all. Apparently he’d gotten arrested for something, Soda wasn’t sure what. His girl was keeping the house clean for him when he got back.

The conversation was stilted, because they hadn’t talked enough. And there was a missing piece. But that’s why they were there.

The only thing that got Ponyboy back to Tulsa was Darrel Shayne Curtis’ funeral.

Ponyboy and Soda shared a room and at one point when their Parents were alive Darrel also shared a room with them. When Darrel was a kid and Soda was a newborn their Dad would try and make Soda say Dada and then Darrel started to try to get Soda to say Darry.(Soda said Darry before he said Mom or Dad) When Steve met Soda in grade school he saw him being bully(because he had problems with with mixing up Sh and Ch noises and B's and D's) and Steve help Soda with the Socs(AKA the bullys) and that's how they became best friends. When Dally was in NY he fell in love with someone who looked like Sylvia but never talked to her and then when he moved to Tulsa he thought that Sylvia was the girl from NY and really loved her but he knew that loves doesnt last forever(because of his parents). Two-Bit has let his sister do his makeup and he's been out of the house with it one time with the gang and he knew it was on and he loved it(He sister is good at makeup). When Sandy had left Soda, Steve broke up with Evie(Because Steve loves Soda and we all know it) or Evie and Steve got with Soda. Johnny has cried one other time in his life and that was in Dallys arms and Dally held him understanding his pain more then anyone in the group. Dally is the only one who is allowed to mess with Ponyboy(Except for Soda and Darry because they're his older brothers) but onw time Steve was being an asshole to Pony and Dally put him on his ass so fast and reminded him to never mess with Pony like he does.(Steve messes with Pony but not like Dally, Darry, and Soda do). One of Pony's Nick names from Darry is Horsefly and Dally called Pony Horsefly at one point and that was the only time Darry punch Dally. Two-Bit and Pony have had a fight at school with the Socs and Darry had to come pick them up and Darry looked at Two-Bit and Pony and tried to not laugh when he learned that Pony and Two-Bit beat the living shit out of the Socs. Ponyboy and Johnny had sleepover at Pony's house and that was one of the first ever sleepovers Johnny had and Johnny loved it.

random Steve Randle Top Gun AU h/cs

because although I haven’t drawn this AU much lately, I do think about it often lol

-Mav gives Steve a tape player & some cassettes- CCR, Hendrix, a few other classic bands that are just after Steve’s time, and some 80s covers of 50s songs. Steve’s confused, but likes it. Sends a few to the gang, which is useless to them, since there’s no tape players in the 60s

-Steve watches Star Wars and American Graffitti, and prefers American Graffiti. Really likes the drag racing scene at the end

-Steve and Mav argue about whether or not Steve has to wear a helmet on Mav’s motorcycle. Mav says Steve does, only Mav doesn’t wear a helmet, so…

-Steve discovers hairspray! Still uses grease, but likes hairspray too. Sends some to Two-Bit who thinks it’s drugs

-In this AU I’m gonna make Evie a girl from San Diego who he meets at school. She becomes his only real friend lol. And for the first time in their friendship, Soda’s the one jealous of one of Steve’s friends

-Steve and Evie eventually get together, and Iceman makes fun of Mav for being less successful with the ladies than his hood-ish little brother from the middle of nowhere

-Evie shows Steve the very 80s shopping mall, and he’s blown away. Has never seen so much stuff all together in one place lol

-She also introduces him to video games, which she is very good at, but he sucks at them so he’s not so fond of them. He’ll still go to the arcade with her though, he’ll grin and bear it if she’s happy.

-Steve refuses at first to call Mav “Mav”, and only refers to him as “Mitchell”

-At least until Maverick offers Steve a chance to pick his own callsign. Then Steve’s onboard

-Steve keeps trying to convince Mav to let him at least work on the planes- if he can’t fly them can he at least follow the engineers around?? (he can’t)

-Everyone at school assumes Steve is just another Navy brat, which bugs him for some reason

-Goose and Ice and the other pilots like to joke around with both Steve and Mav in very similar ways, and then compare their reactions

-Goose and Carole become Steve’s self appointed uncle and aunt. They’re both a bit like Soda, so Steve gets along with them better than he gets along with most other adults

-Like Mav though, Steve initially dislikes Ice. He pretends to like him to piss off Mav, but he secretly finds Ice really obnoxious and Soc-y. He’s never close enough to Ice to discover the guy has layers, so he just continues to not vibe with him, yk?

-The room Mav gives Steve originally is completely unfurnished, with just a desk, and a bed with an air mattress on it. Neither Steve or Mav have any real problem with this until Evie, Goose, and Carole find out and are horrified on Steve’s behalf lol

-Soda comes out to visit whenever he can, and much to his irritation, he likes Evie. He wants to hate her for stealing Steve, but he really really likes her. They both will go to the arcade and play for hours. Steve hates this with a passion.

-Steve keeps bugging Mav to teach him how to surf, and Mav keeps coming up with excuses why not to- secretly, Mav does not actually know how to surf

-Eventually Evie teaches both of them lol, and then Soda too

-Steviepop happens at some point, and Mav finds out b/c he walks in on Soda- Steve’s best friend- and Evie, Steve’s girlfriend, kissing. He low-key freaks out and goes to Goose for advice

-And finally Mav brings it up to Steve, only for Steve to get really embarrassed before admitting that he’s dating a girl and a guy who are also dating each other and he knows it’s weird but it’s just how things are-

-Mav just sorta shakes his head and is like…okay, whatever, kids are weird. (In a goosemavcarole au, this makes him realize he’s a little in love with both Goose and Carole which sends him into a slight crisis) (but i only ship that sometimes so idk)

-Steve tries to convince Mav to let him use the motorcycle alone sometime

-Mav says no, less out of fear for Steve’s safety and more out of fear for his motorcycle’s safety tbh

I wish I had the number to my younger self

Somehow, it's not until Ponyboy blows out the twenty candles on his cake that Darry processes Ponyboy's now the age he was when he had to take his brothers in. And he's still a kid.

Ponyboy may know what he's majoring in, but he has no idea what to do with his life, and Darry's a bit terrified to think of what would happen if he were left alone in a kitchen with instructions to make himself lunch, much less run a home and take care of two boys.

He was just a kid.

I'd pick up the phone and say, "You're only twenty and you've lost more than most people do

It took him a while to realise that most people at his job didn't want anything else. They didn't want an intellectual job, they didn't want to go to college, they didn't want to get out of Tulsa. They did the job because they liked it and Darry was never any more jealous than the day he realised that.

These people were happy doing the job because they managed to find other things that brought them joy, other things to make life colourful. Meanwhile Darry couldn't do anything but pull muscles and stare at brochures longingly as the layer of dust on them grew thicker and thicker.

You don't know it now, but there's still more to lose

He wasn't ready to lose two more people not eight months later.

He wasn't ready.

But life didn't give a fuck, apparently. Whether he was ready or not, two of his closest friends were gone in one night, one of them with a stuttered sentence from Ponyboy and the other with cracking gunshots as Darry pleaded with Death itself.

'Cause friends move away, and people don't get older

Sometimes Darry looked around and realised that no one really understood. No one really wanted to either. Everyone left the first chance they got and never looked back unless it was to spit in his face.

Paul never spoke to him after graduation until the rumble, and hadn't talked to him since. Cormac tried to stay in contact but didn't last two letters. Janine told him she would call him every day.

She didn't call once.

He wasn’t close to the gang, not like his brothers were. The closest one to him in age was Two-Bit, and mentally that closeness was irrelevant.

There was no one, not really, because his mom would've understood, and Dally could've taught him to get over it, and Johnny could've listened, and maybe, if he got to grow up, he could've understood.

But he didn't and none of them were there and Darry was stiflingly alone.

Your heart's gonna break over and over

Dally's burnt jacket, hung over a chair in the dining room. The necklace their mom always wore that now went under Soda's shirt. Ponyboy wearing Johnny's jacket whenever he visited. The school photo of his football team that he couldn't seem to force himself to throw away or take off the wall. The tie their father wore to meetings that Darry still wore to anything formal.

Two-Bit's new switchblade and that couch his mom thought was hideous and Steve's ring he got from Dally, and Evie's drawings, the same style as the ones she'd made for the funerals. Cherry Valance, who only talked to them because Bob died, and Marcia Sternberg, who took so long to talk to Two-Bit because she assumed he'd been too busy with everything that happened to call her.

There was a reminder in every corner of every room, chipping away at his heart. Inescapable and endless.

You're not to blame, so don't blame yourself

If he'd never hit him, Ponyboy wouldn't have run away, wouldn't have woken up Johnny, wouldn't have gone to the park, wouldn't have almost drowned (wouldn't wake up screaming five years later), wouldn't have killed Bob, wouldn't have run away again (wouldn't have chosen Dally over Darry) , wouldn't have been there for the fire, wouldn't have lost his best friend.

None of it would've happened if Darry hadn't snapped.

Maybe that’s why Dally asked for him when he called from that payphone. Why he asked for Darry. To remind him that it was all his fault.

I wish you knew the feeling wasn't permanent

The sleepless nights, the constant feeling of being behind, always having something to do. Not a second of rest. Whenever something was done, something else was waiting right behind it.

No end in sight.

Just work. And more work. And more work. Until he broke.

Watching people leave him behind as they made something of their life.

He wishes he'd known there was an end, that it wasn't always going to be like that. It would get better if he only asked for help.

I wish you knew your brother would come back again

It would've saved him so many hours if he'd just known Ponyboy would stop hating him and think he hated him back. That Soda would stop bottling up whatever it was he was bottling up and would finally break down in front of Darry, letting himself feel again. That Two-Bit would quit drinking once and for all almost a year after he started with Darry and Sodapop's help. That Steve would come up to him the day after Ponyboy graduated and told him he'd never admired someone like he admired Darry.

That he would still fight with Ponyboy sometimes and Soda would still say he was fine when he wasn't and Two-Bit would get up to go to the fridge compulsively and Steve would threaten him if he ever said anything to anyone about it. But it would get better.

His brothers would heal, eventually, and come back to who they used to be.

And time does heal, but don't heal everything

It strange, how everything changes so quickly, and yet remnants of the past are hidden at every corner.

Dad hasn't been around for six years, and yet Darry still turns around impulsively to ask which shirt to wear to work. He still curls up on himself and pretends his mom's arms are around him, telling him it'll all be okay when he feels useless and knows he's messing everything up.

When Dally had been gone for a year, Darry still saw him everywhere, in every hood and every little kid that wandered past. But once, when he saw Curly Shepard mugging a thirteen-year-old, he blinked and for a second Dallas Winston stood in front of him in all his long-lost glory.

He tried to save him — stop him from meeting his inevitable end. The end the Brumly boys would meet. The end Tim Shepard would likely meet, no matter how much Darry liked him. The end Dally met, despite everyone around him.

But Curly didn't want to be saved, and there's no saving someone who doesn't want to be helped.

If you knew it now who you were gonna be, you might care less about what they think

When he graduated from high school, all of his shirts were flannel. They weren't Madras, of course not, but he'd worn them so it would seem like they were.

When he went off to work each morning, he used to practice looking serious so his coworkers might think he was a bit older and buy the lie that was the ring on his finger. It wasn't a real wedding ring, just one he found in his mother's old jewelery box that he wore so it would seem like he had a normal family.

But now, as Ponyboy blows out his candles and Darry's brothers all cheer like they're still kids (because they are), he can't bring himself to care whether everyone he's ever known is together, talking shit about him.

Because Ponyboy's laughing and Two-Bit's glowing as Marcia wraps an arm around his waist and Steve's clapping a hand on Ponyboy's shoulder and congratulating him and Soda and Evie are stepping away to do some sort of stupid dance to the music that's playing on the radio and Curly Shepard may be a hood but he's also dipping his cake in Pepsi and Two-Bit and Marcia and Steve are joining Soda and Evie and Tim's smiling and Darry is overwhelmingly happy, surrounded by the people that actually matter.

Stop trying to impress the people who leave

His friends hadn't cared; they went off to college anyway and left Darry behind, drowning in his fake flannel.

His coworkers hadn't cared; they went out for drinks without him while Darry spent ten minutes in his truck before heading inside the house, trying to rip the stupid ring off because his mom's hands were so much smaller than his.

But he'd grown apart from his brothers in trying to impress other people. He'd missed out on petty arguments and moments of calm coexistence because he was hiding out so they wouldn't see him for the con man he was.

And they noticed. They noticed and they cared.

It scares you to death, but don't take it hard

Once, Darry was late to work because he'd frozen in the kitchen, staring at their calendar. It was his birthday in two weeks. He hadn't even noticed. He'd be twenty-one in two weeks and he hadn't done a thing since he'd turned twenty.

He wasn't a dollar closer to going to college or getting a job he could enjoy, and even if he could, he still didn't have any idea what he would study or work as. At this point, if he ever did get to go to college, he'd still be completely alone because everyone would be decades younger than him.

Time was running away from, slipping through his fingers, pooling on the ground before he even noticed he'd been holding it. Everyone else was getting somewhere, getting where they wanted to be. Just last week Soda'd gotten a raise at the DX, and Steve was looking into becoming an actual mechanic. Two-Bit was concentrating on crawling out of his addiction, and Ponyboy was more than making up for the time he'd missed at the beginning of the year.

And Darry was in the same place he was last year.

Now he's twenty four, and if his twenty-one-year-old self could see him, he'd probably run away screaming. Still no plans for getting to college, still at a dead-end job here.

But he has friends at his job, and he doesn't quite hate it. His brothers are home, not all living with him, but in the neighbourhood, and Ponyboy's just a phonecall away. Even Tim is just a couple blocks away, and he's always up for a walk to complain about little siblings and the shit they get up to.

Yeah, he hasn't done what he wanted to do when he was eighteen. But who has?

You're gonna ask: Why?

He was cleaning his room one night when he couldn't sleep and found an old picture of himself under his mattress, maybe fallen, maybe placed. It was from his graduation, an eighteen-year-old Darry smiling between his two parents, holding his diploma proudly. Hope in his eyes, dreams as big as he could imagine.

It was a couple weeks later that they did the math for the college he wanted to go to and realised he wouldn't be able to go. His parents told him to get a job, start saving up, and get in a couple years late. He could still do it.

Until they weren't there anymore and his savings had to go to headstones and funerals and bills.

No one told him what to do with the dreams that were floating away like a balloon someone let go of. No one told him how to ground himself and start taking care of his brothers. No one told him how to plan meals and do laundry and budget and do the hours he needed at work while not fading away from his brother's lives.

Why wasn't there anyone there? Why did he need to learn all of it alone?

You're gonna want answers

The next day he sunk to his knees, pathetic, crying on top of decaying organic matter, pleading to grey lumps of stone.

It was the first time he had been there since the funeral, too afraid of breaking down in front of his brothers. He couldn't cry in front of them anymore, and knew he'd break that promise if he went there with them.

With his hands on the ground, touching the same dirt his parents were buried under, Darry asked them why it had to be him. Why Uncle Louie couldn't take care of them, why he had to figure everything out on his own, why it all fell onto his shoulders.

Hate to be the one to tell you this

But you'll be alright, kid."

•i feel like steve drinks a little bit as well, not as much as two bit, god no, but still!!! when steve is kicked out his house, he is two’s drinking buddy and they will create either the best or the shittiest mixed drink known to man, there is no juice and alcohol mixes its just straight alcohol mixed w alcohol

•they arent rlly that close!! good friends, yea but they dont hang out much, they dont exactly have a reason to. they only act all buddy buddy when sodas around bc sodas their mutual friend, they dont have much in common beyond that

•i say that but steve has slept over at two’s house numerous times, two buts mom doesnt know bc she works a lot and steve cleans u after himself so she wouldnt even see the house isnany differet, but ANYWHO elsteve sleepsnover when his dad kicked him out and he doesnt wanna “over stay his welcome” at the curtis house

•two definitely makes absent/negligent dad jokes here and there, steve chuckles and lil while sodas unsure if hes even allowed to laugh, he just smiles and hopes the discussion switches to somethin else, he WOULD talk to em about it but like he doesnt wanna bring down the mood lets just move in guys❤️

•two always wears his jacket, steve always wears his vest and they can NEVER understand how the other can wear what they do, they tried on each others stuff and hated it so bad, two was a lil chilly while steve was too hot

Ace Head Canon's (Part 2!)

Ace and Steve’s girlfriend Evie get along pretty well. Though, Ace doesn’t know what she sees in him.

Ace could be very good in school as well, she just doesn’t try. She spends more time goofing off with Two-Bit and ditching with Soda and Steve than trying to get any actual work done. Also, her teachers are not that kind to her and she has a hard time listening to anyone who is slightly dismissive of her.

She is NOT a good cook even though she’s been feeding herself for a long time. For the most part, she survived on old candy bars and quick meal solutions.

As a kid, she was a biter. She got suspended in the second grade for biting another girl in the bathrooms during recess wash up. The only thing that could get her to stop was her teacher making her suck on a bar of soap. She hated the way that lye soap tasted.

So far in high school, she’s been suspended twice. The first time was for scalping another greaser girl who was calling her names. The next time was for sucker punching a boy for springing her bra strap. Then she proceeded to make fun of him for crying about getting punched by a girl.

Ace loves music but she can’t hardly sing. She’s also one of the only ones who knows about Johnny's secret singing voice. Her and Ponyboy.

She is a good dancer but that’s not really public information to anyone but Two-Bit and Dallas. Her and Two-Bit often frequent a Tulsa Juke Joint called the Double Deuce. She’s friends with the owner Rosie who is dating Dallas Winston on and off. Those two are the only members of the gang who have seen her dance.

Johnny claims he has too but he’s lying! He’s never seen Ace dance because she is very careful about who gets to see her dance.

This might have been covered in Tilly’s ‘Ace Lore’ but she does cut her own hair. She cuts it close to her scalp and usually with Steve’s switchblade. The first time she did it, it looked really bad but she’s gotten better. Evie also gave her a couple tips about cutting her own hair, even going so far as to fix a couple bad cuts. She’s the one that gifted Ace a nice pair of scissors so she wasn’t using an old switchblade that everyone was pretty sure Steve had stabbed someone with.

Ace really used to like wearing jewelry. Necklaces, rings, bracelets, and anklets. But then some soc’s caught her and ripped off all the necklaces she was wearing. Left marks on her neck and scared her to death so now she hardly wears jewelry. Just an anklet that Mrs. Matthews helped her make out of beads and string after a bad night at her aunt's house. Two-Bit said the colors looked tough and she hasn’t taken it off since.

Like Steve and Dallas, Ace always hated swimming. Not that she was allowed in any public pools in Tulsa anyway. Steve had told her some story of a black kid who tried to swim in a public pool down by the rec center and how the white kids had thrown acid in the pool. Since then she’d been scared to go. Sodapop invited her and Steve to go swimming at the lake with them one day. After a lot of convincing, they both went. It took her about three hours for her to actually get in the water but she learned how to swim and she started to love it.

(Dallas said he would never go to the lake because there might be ‘creatures’ in the water. He said he’d never go to the public pool because of the ‘monster whites’.

Ace started to really like swimming and decided to try the community pool on the East Side. She thought she’d have a chance at the East Side community center because it was way more rundown and sometimes the workers let her group play pool in the lobby. They tried, and after the pool wouldn’t let her, Two-Bit (and Sodapop) in to swim on account that it was whites only, Dallas smashed in all the windows and poured fifteen buckets of black paint in the pool.

Now it doesn’t matter because they just go to the lake when they can. But they haven’t gone to the lake since the Curtis parents were killed.

Ace has stayed the night at Bucks in Dallas’s room lots of times but one of the most memorable was when she was staying there with Johnny. Dallas had tried to bring a girl back and kick her out of the room so he could… you know… and the girl didn’t let him kick Ace and Johnny out. Instead she drove them back to her place so that Ace and Johnny could get some sleep while the girl and Dallas did things.

Johnny and Ace ended up sleeping in the same room as the girl's little brothers. It wasn’t as awkward as Ace thought it was going to be.

Sometimes, if Ace is feeling sentimental or just missing her grandparents extra, she’ll go to church. Not just any church, the same one that her Gram used to go to at 10:00 AM sharp every Sunday. She’ll try to dress decently, sneaking out of her Aunt’s house before Steve wakes up and she’ll go. Sitting in the back of the church, humming along to the songs they are singing and really trying to listen. Almost imagining that she’s a little girl again, her grandma is sitting next to her, holding her hand and smiling.

Steve doesn’t know but sometimes, it’s just really comforting for Ace to go to church. It makes her feel close to her grandparents.

1. Darry gets a raise and an offer for a more secure roofing job except for it’s in California, the gang has to deal with the Curtis’s moving away

2. A Tex fic, where Tex gets phenomena and Mason has to deal with his baby brother having the same thing that killed their mama

3. Dallas Winston time travel fic where he has to try to stop the events from the book from happening while dealing with the PTSD of being shot and killed

4. Steviepop are dating but only Steve and Evie are dating publicly (hooray for the 60s), ponyboy gets home from school and walks in on Evie and Soda making out and goes through a panic because he assumes Evie’s cheating on Steve with soda of all people

middle child syndrome in the sense that he’s always playing the middle man between pony and Darry… and do they really stop fighting after canon even with his whole breakdown….

he’s the “stupid” curtis… both his brothers are so smart damn how would he feel growing up… his baby brother being able to do his homework for him :/ his convo with Darry abt dropping out after their parents die and Darry is trying to prove to the state that he’s a fit guardian

THE HSS SAGA: MEET MY MCs

Since I made a singular profile post where I braindump some basic details/profilesfor all 3 of my It Lives series MCs (Jo, Harper, and Cedric), I'm gonna do the same for all 3 of my (main) HSS MCs. Evie included– even though I already have a more fleshed out profile for her, it's only fair. I'm still working out a lot of details for all of them, even Evie.

I of course have multiple other OG HSS MCs like Alan, Samara, etc. But this post is for the MCs that I consider part of my main personal canon universe. Other MCs I make exist in parallel universes.

For both this and the ILS one, I will update each of these with their respective profiles as I make them.

Submitting for HSS Appreciation Week 2025 Day 1: Meet Our MCs (and OCs) @hss-appreciation-events

Jordan Price (HSS: Prime)

Birthday: April 21, 1999

She's cis (she/her) and she loves masc styles (and enjoys fem styles too), but doesn't fully consider herself GNC. She wouldn't really consider herself either masculine or feminine.

She's "ridiculously jacked for a nerd". She values her academics, but she knows how to make time to work out.

She's straight. During the HSS Prime timeline, she dated some prep boy named Daniel for a while. But early into her junior year at high school, he moved away and they decided to end the relationship because they were not ready for a distance relationship. Eventually during her senior year, she started to have a crush on Julian as he started to grow out of his “macho meatheaded jock” attitude, and asks him to OG HSS prom.

Personality-wise, she's very kind, helpful, a responsible leader, happy-go-lucky, serious, and determined. She sometimes tries a bit too hard to be a goody two-shoes and preaches a lot about not wanting to stoop to the level of her enemies.

Her moms had given her a heavy education in stuff like business, socialization, and financial skills as they wanted her to be extra-prepared for any potential independent adult life (hey, you try coming up with an explanation for why a teenager is able to found and build up a whole-ass brand new high school). A lot of the inequality she saw and often experienced herself as a Black-Indian girl with lesbian moms that had to pretend they were roommates, is what motivated her to use her skills to found and create Oliver M. Berry High School, on the foundation of being a school that was accepting to everyone no matter who they were. Her moms wanted for her a life with lesser restrictions and encouraged her to pursue that.

Many initially wanted to name Berry High after her, but while she did not mind being acknowledged as the founder of the school, she did also want to be remembered as just a normal student like the rest, and did not want to be put on that high of a pedestal. so the school was instead named after its first principal.

I'm still deciding whether I want her to be a grade ahead of the rest of the Prime gang, or be in the same grade as them but gets offers from various colleges and is allowed to skip a year and graduate early. Either way, she's initially averse to graduation and wants to focus on Berry, but Julian and others reassure her that Berry is in good hands and encourage her to branch out with her skills. She attends San Jose State when she graduates, staying in very close touch with her friends from Prime while at some point eventually getting to meet Evie.

She and Julian will eventually get married. IDK if they'll have any kids.

Evie Ayana (HSS: OG Trilogy)

Birthday: March 8, 2001.

Her full name is Evelyn. Her dad would call her this name at birth, but eventually he would use the nickname "Evie-bear" as a term of endearment (because Evelyn-bear doesn't sound very fun to say), and eventually the name "Evie" stuck instead.

She's a GNC cis gal (she/her) and very very VERY proud of it. She does enjoy some feminine or fem-associated things and is proud of those too, but she really hates it when people try to define her womanhood exclusively with her femininity or act like certain things are intrinsic to womanhood. She also has major bottom dysphoria, but gets nervous talking about it because the kind of sexual acts she does prefer are too commonly misunderstood as a femdom kink thing.

She's bi with a huge preference for men. Obviously her endgame is with Aiden, but she has also felt attraction for Michael, Maria, Julian, and Kieran. After she and Aiden get married, they do eventually open their marriage and swing with Michael and Maria and a few others.

Personality-wise, she's cautious and reserved; but also confident, outspoken, and helpful. Fun-loving, but also no-nonsense. Tough, but also sweet. Will lift up Aiden, but also snuggle into his chest. Horny on main, but knows her boundaries. Sometimes level-headed, other times impulsive. She's very anxious about everything she says or does, worrying about accidentally doing something hurtful (especially if it ruins an otherwise positive relationship).

She always struggled to make friends back in her old schools and deals with a lot of social anxiety. Moving to Cedar Cove and Berry High was a major opportunity for self-improvement and pushing herself out of her comfort zone. She adapted fairly well to a more confident, outspoken, and helpful version of herself, but it's still often very difficult for her to maintain it.

She's a jock through all three books, and while she's unsure about keeping up an interest in professional competitions after graduating, at the very least she does maintain a hobby for these sports. She's also quite into running.

She named her pet hamster "Cheese Nugget", or "Cheesy" for short. She also has a white-and-orange cat named Daisy.

Besides Aiden, the person in her friend group she considers herself closest to is Emma. Emma's kindness to her on her first day of school amidst being a shy awkward wallflower is something Evie is very appreciative of, and it motivated her to push herself to make new friends and extend her kindness and help to them too.

Evie won homecoming crown, guest of honor, and prom crown in the OG timeline. But they're merely bonus things to her.

I still haven't figured out where Evie goes when she graduates, but it's definitely local. She of course stays close with her friends.

Evie and Aiden love to do duets and dance performances together, and even enter some dance competitions. Of course, their partner dances are always role-reversed, but I don't think that should matter to the competitions.

She and Aiden have kids in the future. They adopt the TBB baby and also have a boy and then twin girls. And Evie definitely won't be getting pregnant, she'd rather die.

Cher Lee (HSS: Class Act)

Birthday: January 12, 2004 (IIRC this was confirmed in her and twin's birth parents' journals)

Cher is cis (she/her) and embraces masculinity, femininity, androgyny, all of it. For this reason, she doesn't quite consider herself GNC, but rather gendercreative.

Her twin, Bear, is a very masc trans dude and has been since he was about 3.

Cher is male-leaning bicurious. She had some attraction to Rory (male version) during her middle school years, but grew out of it around the end of 8th grade. During HSS:CA 1, she had a major puppy crush on Erin Ward and was elated to go to homecoming with her. But during HSS:CA 2, she'd become closer to Ajay Bhandari and eventually start dating him.

Cher has a very deep interest and knowledge in fashion and clothing styles. Especially when it comes to stuff like drag and crosdressing. Although she wasn't specifically named after her, Cher adores Cher Horowitz from "Clueless" and greatly looks up to her sense of fashion (and she has been told she sometimes even looks like the character face-and-hair wise). Her reason for joining theatre in the first place in fact is because she loved to dress up in costume and act out the roles in said costumes.

She takes theatre and acting very seriously. Not Ajay levels of hardass seriously, but seriously enough that she's very enthusiastic about it and always puts in her best effort to give the audience a show. Most especially through putting on a stellar costume and performance for her character.

For the Enchanted Kingdom play, she actually wanted to be the witch rather than the princess. And in the Tempest musical, she wanted to be Ferdinand rather than Miranda. I'm still figuring out my HSS:CA rewrite but I may give her both of these roles.

She definitely goes to Hollywood U when she graduates. Some of the CA gang may or may not be going there too.

In the future, I feel like she and Ajay would break up on amicable terms by the end of his senior year/her sophomore year. But they might come together again years later when they're older and wiser, and might get married and have a couple of kids.
