let’s get into david (tlb) for the bingo thing 😏🤝

So im split on him because he’s simultaneously one of the most interesting characters in the movie and also one of my least favorites lol

I think the fact that I would totally get bent outta shape over a power play like David’s constant…everything means I’d be completely susceptible to his brand of vampirism, but I’m not proud of this at all

I guess in real life I can’t stand people with David’s attitude/smugness, which means that I don’t really enjoy his presence. But it’s a powerful presence I can’t lie lol. I don’t like him, and I’d hate to know him in real life vampires or no vampires, but I get why people like him. I do. And although I may not like him he fulfilled his role in the story perfectly and Kiefer Sutherland played him fantastically.

So all in all, I do not like him…but admittedly he’s entertaining and super interesting. (Like the implications of how he works w/ the other boys? There’s so much to tear apart in that it’s really fun to sink ur teeth into fr) (still tho I’d rather hang with literally anyone else in the movie lol)

He’s ok! Very funny, very torture-able which is always a good trait for a character. I have a lotta headcannons about him that I honestly forget aren’t canon tbh lol, because there’s not a whole lot to him in canon? Idk tho I think that making stuff up is like 70% of the fun fr

in my (more recent) Tex fic I’ve sort of set it up for him to have moved out to Bixby with a little sister who’s like ten+ years younger than him in his custody…kinda forcing him to grow up and get a little responsible, in a foil to Tim, who I think stays where he is in life for a long while. It’s a plot line I take seriously now but originally just thought of because I was thinkin “Man what would annoy Soda the most….haha Curly Shepard movin into his town haha”

Just to bring Dally down a peg, I don’t think he can whistle. Sometimes when he’s catcalling girls and they get bothered enough, they make fun of him and ask him why he’s just yelling and not whistling.

I'm one of the few people that genuinely LOVES working customer service (hotel receptionist here), like yes the occasional person is rude and entitled. But most of the time? People are kind, and funny, and will jump at the chance to share a bit of their lives with someone else.

The businessman that comes in every week who seemed grouchy at first now smiles and waves when I remember his name, and explains he's just finished a long drive, and he doesn't MEAN to come off as rude, he's just tired.

The mother and daughter who visit the hotel each summer and tell me they've been coming here for years, and each time they visit they go to the pier and save up their tickets for the big ticket items. One day they come through the doors with the biggest grins, the older lady in the wheelchair proudly waving a huge stuffed toy tiger she's "had her eye on for years".

The young man with his girlfriend who looks nervous as he approaches reception, and stumbles over his words, his hands shaking as he signs the paperwork to check in. I've spent the last two weeks on the phone with him organising this; we've set up the bedroom with balloons and petals and decorations, and he's going to propose as soon as they get to the room.

The woman who I've not seen before who asks if I'm local, and tells me she grew up here, and had recently found herself drawn back. We talk about the sounds of seagulls, and the metal clanging of masts down at the harbour, and how the sounds that fade into the background are the ones you miss most when you leave. She's writing a book and promises to send me a copy when she's done.

The regular who goes out of her way to buy us all the strangest biscuits she can find at the tourist shops. We try them together, pulling faces at the ones that just don't work.

The thirty something woman who immediately sees a kinship in me and whispers to me that she has been here before, but under a name she no longer uses, and we celebrate the freedom she feels.

The support group that comes in for coffee each week and sit together filling the foyer with laughter.

Every single person living their own wonderful complicated rich lives, and I get to be a part of that. How is that not beautiful?

So after three years of ignoring my doctor, I’ve finally accepted that I should maybe get glasses. And then I had this talk w/ my kid brother:

Like let’s be real I’m probably some type of bi, but every time I wanna talk about it some dickweed is like “see I knew you couldn’t be straight you’re too nice/fashionable/accepting/chill etc etc.” And like. Yeah but I can actually be all those things. And be straight. It’s not fucking hard.

Like if I am queer, it’s not a damn moral achievement, yk? Like i haven’t gained ✨enlightenment✨ or whatever! And if I’m not (which! I may not be! Idfk!) then it’s not like I’m incredibly unusual for being a decent person!! That’s the lowest damn bar!
