peaceful property final thoughts: what is a home?

i remember the first time peaceful property was released as a mock trailer in gmmtv part 1 for 2024, and how excited i was for the series to air. i thought it to be a perfect ghostbusting plot for a show - and taynew have acted in many other non-BL shows that i was not too worried for it to be a BL or not BL. and internally, after seeing that trailer, i had an idea on how the show was gonna be on what it means to have a home, have a family and understand its better meaning.

now that the show has ended, it has come true in its best form. all the spirit stories was so rooted in the little things that most people would want, and each story ngl made me cry. it gave emphasis on family, on building homes, building warmth and building a sense of familiarity with love and care. and how even with care, the financial difficulties of most people get highlighted. it was endearing to me, because it gave me every flavour of drama, angst, hate, anger, horror, fear and love i thought i didnt need but i did. so badly.

i can definitely say the show was a lot on breaking, healing and building new stuff over the old, with the theme remaining constant over all of the episodes. personally, it provided a new meaning to home. we list a lot of thing while we talk about what home means to someone, in poetry, prose, media and daily life. and i believe you cant find one absolute meaning of home. the show said the same thing here as well. however, it add more depth to the things already said. how home lies within the people, not the buildings we create. its the memories that emphasise a home.

and i think here, the best example to explain home was through uncle somkid. the denial of care and affection he felt through years doesnt equate to the comfort he got at last, knowing his father did love him all those years, left him memories and things behind. and for us as the audience, probably, the arc that somkid got may not be correct because one may think the emotional unavailability of gramps and the whole family doesnt give the correct closure that somkid probably needed. but we find out somkid saying that he finally got the closure he needed. and that is something only he could justify, not us.

i learnt a deeper meaning of how home is everything - the chaos, disagreements, fights, denial of love, hate, laughter, envy, jealousy, pride, ego, disappointment, love, care, affection, warmth, being safe and content of being together with people. and feeling that all with people has become so valid. because you go through all those emotions in the course of life with people/buildings/memories you used to call/call/will call home. these feelings dont remain constant but they show up.

the way i interpreted "home" is still vague and may be incorrect, but i have felt this as i keep defining more homes over the course of my life. i have felt these emotions somewhere or the other while being in homes and its now something which makes me feel warm and content. and this show, made me feel it all.

will like to end my string of thoughts with this thought in mind.

GMMTV introduced OhmLeng's fan club official character OH-YEAH (which is also their fandom name thanks to Leng lol) who comes with cuteness, playfulness, and will come to mess with the hearts of fans to love them even more.

Ohm and Leng drew it themselves!

Yup, they already had OL logo for some commerical stuff which may be considered as the officialism BUT fandom character - in my opinion - is THE official official confirmation for establishing because it's literally means that the couple will continue to promote together in the future just like other cps, will have another series together, and also official merch, events and other things that GMMTV give for permanent couples because there's no other reason for this company to make merch and wasting money for nothing. So yeah, official established couple!

And this look good for me, because they have amazing chemistry, understand each other perfectly and you believe that they deeply love and care for each other which affects their acting chemistry and interaction on screen.

Also this is so important for Ohm because.... 2023 was a tough year for him and I felt relieved to see how happy and glowing he was in 2024, surrounded himself with people who love and deeply respect him. And Leng is one of those people if not the most important piece to that happiness as Ohm Pawat himself stated. I even have proofs! (credits to their owners)

I wish these boys to live in peace and harmony, supporting and relying on each other. Another proof that communication is the key to happiness!

Also I hope that their next work will have a good budget, good plot, the characters they want to play and ban-free series name because their fandom has been fighting X's rules about sensitive content for the last 11 weeks of trending. Amen.

Do you guys think that as Jaehaera grows up and sees her mother spiral into madness, and her father drinking himself into despair because he lost the only heir he had (unless Maelor becomes an active heir), would throw her into a despair? And forgive me it’s literally almost 2 am but I’ve been thinking on this and Jaehaera and Jaehaerys are spitting images of each other, although Aegon hasn’t been as attached to her as he has been with Jaehaerys (supposedly). Maybe Aegon never actually acknowledges her presence? The spitting image of the only heir he lost, a forever reminder of his failure to protect his son, his blood. Would he distance himself away from her? Wishing that she was the one that had died instead of his son? It’s cruel to think of it but with the rage we saw in episode 2 I’m not entirely sure he would keep Jaehaera close which may cause her to be in hurt and feel isolated because she quite literally has no one of her own (similarly to other Hightower/Greens kids)

sam thinks he's better than john, dean knows.

he can tell by the way his brother curls his lip whenever he brings up dad, chin lifted in challenge when dean defends their childhood. dean recognizes the motion, what it means, because that's how john used to look whenever dean asked him to reconsider a hunt, the next move, to not rip sam away from his brief moments of normalcy.

dean knows sam thinks he never fought, that he rolled over to pack immediately all the time. but when it was important, a soccer game sam had been practicing kicks for, a writing contest he had just won, dean would fight. he sees it on sam whenever they argue over the next course of action, when he asked sam to stop, to stop for his sake, stop looking, stop drinking, stop. it had the same weight it did against john, the same look that meant they'll do whatever they damn please, regardless of how dean feels about it. for the(ir) greater good.

he can tell by the way his brother bristles whenever he mentions something about john that sam didn't know, the countless secrets he hid tall enough to build dean's inevitable pyre. dean doesn't mention the secrets that sam is prone to keeping, the way he taps away at their shared laptop, screen shared between sam and the wall alone. dean doesn't remember the way sam stepped out of their motel room for phone calls with her, too lost in his own memories of being stretched across the rack.

he can tell by the disdain in his brother's voice whenever he talks about his childhood, days and nights lost to john's ceaseless hunt for revenge, single-minded devotion overriding the ones still alive. dean carefully doesn't think about jess, about how silent sam had been after the time loop, or how they avoided bobby for a few weeks after. he still doesn't know what happened, not really, and he doesn't ask. sam's unwillingness to leave him alone, to let him out of his sight, spoke volumes. dean doesn't bring up hell, the year before or after it, when he needed sam most. some things are better left unremembered.

(he can tell by the way sam grits his teeth whenever john stepped too close, hand hovering above his waist, moving to firmly grasp his shoulder. when john's eyes lingered a bit too long on dean, past the point of categorizing his injuries, or reassuring himself of dean's safety.

his brother doesn't touch him like that, movements unsure and fluttering unless one of them is on the brink of death, as if the heat on dean's skin is it's own brand of punishment. his eyes flicker over dean rapidly, as if dean is too much to take in all at once, unable to be savored. as if abstinence, or refusal to give into dean, will save him.)

sam thinks he's a better man than john, but dean knows better.
