I wrote this in early 2020. It turned out that ability to be critical of information was helpful in the long term, and those ppl were already gonna have problems during the pandemic.

"This is going to sound so much more melodramatic than it actually is but I dont have a better way to phrase it. Language be like that:

In my late 30s I came to suspect that my political/philosophical worldview is functioning as a cognito hazard in my former students and as of now I am sitting back and monitoring them as best as I am able to see if they recover. It is merely because of a central epistemological nihilism combined with light statistical analysis but as of now I have more evidence that it is harmful than it is helpful. Consequently I've been circumspect in my discussion of it in recent time. They are already spreading it to their peers. So I am in search for something that will logically refute it and alleviate them of this or for evidence that they can"

(I wrote this to myself, but for anyone looking, epistemological nihilism refers to the fact that truth and knowledge are unverifiable)

BEGGING people to stop treating friendship as mandatory just because you want to talk about amatonormativity. Quit throwing apls under the bus for not perfoeming friendship enough. Romance is not mandatory and neither is friendship or literally any other damn relationship. You shouldn't have to engage in relationships to recieve support and structuring society this way is not the progressive take you think it is.

Plato-repulsed people don't need your pity just because a relatively common bond repulses us. We know it sounds difficult but its literally something we experience on a first hand basis. Why are you saying that it sounds hard to deal with instead of acknowledging that perhaps society should avoid making friendship(or any relationship type) the default??

I can't value friendship because Im aplatonic, plato-repulsed, and nonfriending, and so I don't even want it to begin with. I'm atertiary, and nonrose relationships can never be a priority or even on equal footing with my relationships w my sexual and romantic-sexual partners (I'm alloaro and demiro) for me, because I don't even want those nonrose relationships to begin with.

Please include people like me in your idea of relationship anarchy because sometimes people really don't want a type of relationship and that applies to friendship as well, and other nonrose relationships like family, qprs, etc. You can't claim to support alternative ways of going about relationships and having boundaries and mutual respect in relationships, then turn around and act like everyone should have or want friends and be extremely affectionate with them or whatever.

When I started watching a LOT of horror let’s plays, I started noticing just how often wheelchairs are used as shorthand for horror in a way that is at best lazy and vapid and at worst just. Wildly ableist and misapprehensive of what wheelchairs actually mean to the people who use them. Like when I got around to rewatching Silent Hill 4 and it hit the corridor fulla chairs, I just burst out laughing bc it was the laziest, stupidest thing I’d ever seen like it was almost a transcendent moment of parody except. yknow. not.

if u consider yourself a horror fan you like NEED to be aware and educated on the ableism thats been put at the heart of so much horror. like... is that character actually scary or do they just have a limp/scars/disfigurement that real normal people have irl and have to see depicted as horrifying and dehumanizing? if you think any of those things or things like it are scary in ANY context you need to step away from the horror genre and familiarize yourself with the fact that people can and do look like that and they do not deserve to be an object of fear
