Me when I'm not eating a fruit: I mean I don't like all of them, but on the whole fruits are okay I guess

Me when consuming a fruit I like: there is a reason we say the gods drink nectar, and here on earth nectar makes fruit. Succulent. Restorative. Nourishing my mana reserves as well as the body. My hands are dripping with it and I will not -- can not apologize.

You’re entranced, following behind this truck for hours. Your vision starts tunnels onto the bananas, and shapes begin to form in the gray periphery. Black and white serpentine figures plunge in and out of the foliage— however, that is beyond your notice; all you can see are the bananas.

There are just so many of them, and they’re stacked so high? How tall could it be? Six foot? Seven foot?

Could it even be an eight foot bunch?

Your radio has been crackling with static since you first got here. That fuzz coats your ear canals, so it’s hard to say when you start to hear the chanting and the drums. It’s soft, but you can feel it resonating within your marrow in an almost perfect counterpoint to your heartbeat. It is the most joyous dirge you could ever imagine. You can’t help but begin to weep, even as you gaze unblinkingly ahead of you, eyes fixated on the most beautiful bunch of ripe bananas. How long have you been driving?

The darkness around you can’t just be tunnel vision. Where has the sun gone?

“Well come on, Mr. Tallyman,” a voice startles you, breaks your focus. You’d been alone this whole trip, so who did it belong to? You turn your head and flinch instinctively back from the cadaverous entity beside you. Bits of lichen and moss on his skin and in his hair change the tint of his pallid complexion. His sunken eyes watch you feverishly as he grins at you; you watch in horror as a large black spider crawls up his nick and into an ear.

“Daylight’s comin’ babe,” he chuckles.

“Don’t you wanna go home?”
