How Fairies Keep Time

This came from the constellation thing, kill me.

This is 100% headcanon. I had to frickin make this up myself after learning about how ancient cultures tracked time. This could go totally ignored by most since it's been established that Fairies are terrible at keeping time because they're so long lived.

But since my AU introduces the concept of a history keeper for the Fairy Clan, it would just make sense to also have a way of keeping time.

I don't want to use star charts for this because...the fuckin constellation thing...I'm not interested in learning about and renaming every star and constellation that can be seen from Scotland. And I don't exactly thing Fairies would be star trackers anyway, just culturally speaking. I don't doubt that Fairies like to stargaze as much as anyone else, but I don't think they think that hard about what they're seeing, yknow? I think it'd be more like the stargazing we see in the Lion King movies. This cluster looks like that, that one looks like this and it's all just fun and games.

So how would they mark time?

Well I do headcanon that the Fairy Realm and The Fairy King's Forest change throughout the seasons. I haven't illustrated that completely yet because there are images that need to be finished... But I do think the Forest looks different depending on the season. So they can mark the time of year by what's going on around them, like a game of Stardew Valley or something. Just like instant, overnight change to everything. And keeping track of seasonal cycles like that would make it easy to keep track of years, if it were, say, your entire JOB to pay attention to that kind of thing.

This wouldn't exactly tell a Fairy what day of the season it is, but since Fairies don't have agriculture or anything they don't exactly need to know when to plant and when to harvest and those kinds of things that ancient civilizations used this kind of time keeping for. That kind of specific date keeping probably isn't really necessary for them.

I do imagine they have holidays though, so maybe they do need some way of tracking days. But that's not too hard, lunar cycles work for that. 12 cycles in a year, 3 cycles per season. Knowing what phase the moon is in and when it was full last, combined by knowing what season you're in can tell you what day of the year it is.

So a Fairy putting today's date on something might look like "84th of Summer" or "3rd New, Summer". Roughly anyway. The new moon is in two days. Could say something like "3rd Half, Waning, Summer" or "3rd Crescent, Waning, Summer" since the current moon phase is technically a Waning Crescent. But if you just look up at the sky tonight the moon will probably look close enough to new that I don't know how much that specification matters.

As far as the year goes, it would depend on when the Fairies started keeping track of time, obviously. And I don't know when that be exactly. Whenever Gloxinia decided that was something he wanted to know I guess... probably whenever the Holy War started. It's only ever said 3000 years ago, but it's probably not literally that on the button, so I suppose I could pick just about any number between 3 and 4 thousand. I'll worry about that one if it ever comes up...

can you tell me the timeline of twisted wonderland I know the game timeline started in September or august now the timeline is january or febary

The timeline for the main story is as follows:

Prologue - Based on book 1’s timing, probably very late August or very early September.

Book 1 - Crewel states that start of the school year is in September; other students like Cater drop hints that the new students are still getting acclimated to the routine of school. The light novel is even more specific; the OB fight is stated to happen within the first week of school.

Book 2 - Crowley states that the interdorm spelldrive/magift tournament takes place in October.

Book 3 - Final exams of the fall semester are mentioned, so this is before winter break. Most likely occurs in November.

Book 4 - Begins on the last day of the fall semester and continues through winter break (late December) and into the new year (January). This is pretty explicitly stated in various characters’ dialogue (Jamil, Crowley, Ramshackle Ghosts, Lilia, Octavinelle, etc.) or by in-game omnipotent narration.

Book 5 - Begins in the new year (January) and factoring in ~1 months’ worth of training, we end book 5 in mid-February, when VDC/SDC takes place. Mid-February is explicitly mentioned by Crewel.

Book 6 - Takes place literally a few days after book 5, so presumably still in February. Idia states that 5 Overblots (not counting himself) occurred in less than 6 months.

Book 7 - Estimated to be in March due to a variety of factors. It must be spring because Yuu is surprised to see (Malleus’s magically produced) snow when wandering outside of Ramshackle + says “I thought it’s supposed to be spring.” The interscholastic spelldrive/magift tournament takes place in May, but presumably has not occurred yet + Silver states his birthday (May 15) is still “a little ways away”. Assuming NRC has a spring break in April or mid/late March, it must not have happened yet because 1) no students mention a break and 2) the third years would need to apply for their internships early in the semester to allow time for their paperwork to be processed and to do additional tests and interviews. Lilia does say at his farewell party that a full 6 months have passed since the start of the school year; he would have said 7 if it was April. UPDATE: book 7 ends on Silver's birthday, May 15.

Devlog (03/16/2025)

Hello Hello! It's been a while since you last heard from me. Longest story short, I got caught in another writers block because of a kink in the plot. It was very annoying and demoralizing, but it's been solved now (I saw the light!) and I've made a lot of progress afterwards.

So what's new?

Well, I'm pleased to say that the first draft of the entire prologue is complete! That includes the Empress's route and the final half of the prologue (Firelight) that happens after. There is some coding and light editing left to do, but it is done. I'm so glad I can say that I'm free of it without any regrets.

After that we will be continuing the story and catching up with some additional material for the next few months!

What to expect:

Patrons will be getting the final route (Route D) of the festival on Saturday March 22.

The second half of the "Prologue: Firelight" will be due to release sometime early-mid April

Chapter 1: Departure & Catastrophe will be going through some small revisions. Subchapter names may be changing to fit the revised storyline better.

Bug fixes for some issues in Thea's route will be coming out tomorrow or the day after

SATURDAY MARCH 29 update and will contain the missing Festival Routes C & D (Linnet/Eirik & the Empress's routes).

The word count of this project as of today is 100k+ words (Insane. This is my largest project ever), but at this moment only about 30k+ of it is there for the public.

SW Hades AU March-April Update

I'm here with another two-month joint update because at the end of April I can hardly call it a March update, and truth be told I don't think I did much for this AU in the first month of spring anyway.

I started playing Hades 2 again, and made some progress with the Omega and Boba redraw of the Warsong update wallpaper :3 The more time that passes between posting and writing this the happier I am with this piece. Who could find all the gear that Omega wears from the Batch? 👀

Which cannot exactly be said about Sabine and Ezra as well, but I finally have something to show for them!!

Next up is Satine (now that I can show a small illustration in my skethcbook for her, it should go easy - I hope), and maybe Fennec or the Armorer. And lining Axe and laying down flat colors for him and Koska as well. I'm trying to get a drawing for all the missing characters and get them to the part where only detailed shading is missing. If my hand doesn't hurt too much at least ^^;

I'm also gearing up to drawing a new Ares!Boba too, but I'm still in denial about that ^^;

I did not have a particulrly good time with these drawings, I will be very honest upfront. I had to redraw Omega two times because I tried to line that piece in CSP and for some reason faces are just not happening for me there; It hadn't go well with Echo either months ago. I don't know what's up. The tilt of my tablet or that I don't have o zoom un until all I can see are pixels?? OTL

...and then the colours fought me something awful too. Between Boba and Omega they had red, yellow, green and blue covered, and all that with Boba's white flightsuit was not fun ^^; I don't know, I just cannot deal with that many colours - so figuring out what and how I should desaturate was quite an experiment in patience for me until they looked somewhat cohesive. Thankfully the added moonlight turned out to be distracting enough that I'm pretty much warming up to it all now.

I'm afraid I will have to use actual Multiply layers for the full shading.

And Sabine. Oh Sabine.

I've struggled here, big time, and I'm still deeply unhappy with her. I experimeted a lot in my sketchbook with her pose, but any time I thought I was finally on to something as soon as I went in to fix some minor anatomy issues digitally and add some details things just fell apart.

It was the tooka that messed everything up, I'm sure of it D: ^^; I wanted something to visually tie Sabine and Ezra together, and my decision fell on the little white tooka that was in Sabine's mural too at the end of Rebels. But now Sabine's shoulder had to stand in a way that the little critter can perch on and judge from...

Honest to god I almost cried with relief when I came across Eurydice in Asphodel when I switched back to playing Hades for a bit, and realized that she has the lean and attitude in her pose that I was looking for with Sabine. So it was either the coward's way out, or to throw the entire project out the window and become a hermit in the mountains or something.

I am deeply, deeply fond of Ezra however Q^Q He was so cooperative after a few initial testing sketches, his hair is perfect, I didn't forget his scars, and I will find it in me to forgive his weird not-really-chainmail shirt, because that one I did to myself XD

I also finally got around to drawing a quick sketch for Fennec - for a hot minute I was very very tempted to pick for her a pose that's a lot closer to Widowmaker from Overwatch, but the vibes just didn't quite match. That was a very sad realization :'(

(Yes, I took the picture after Satine bled through the page in all her alcohol marker glory, yes, I regret it, and no, I cannot relably draw faces on paper. It is a real tragey. I'm in mourning.)

And just so that I cannot really sigh in relief, Leia is my next struggle. I still don't know how to make her work, and it's been months. Terrible. Horrible. Really really bad. Why am I even trying...TT^TT

So that's it for this month. It's both less and more than how it feels, and I'm also kinda losing a bit of steam - my mind is at re-drawing the entire background section for the House of Hades, so on the backburner i'm trying to cook up various background elements to fill the halls up with. Hades is such a beautifully designed game with such amazing shapes and colours, and Star Wars is such a different style especially when it comes to decorations... So there is a lot of cooking that will have to happen here. But I spent a not insignificant part of my last week (I'd been sick, I could get away with it) watching Drawfee speedpaints (they are so fun and so educational sometimes) and Jacob really popped off in one video creating a pixel art game of some sort? And ever since all I could think about is how and IF I could make my pocket Din move through my version of the Hades AU. Just a section of it. I'm itching to draw the backgrounds, but goddamn I am tired, so I just keep distracting myself from the important character art stuff with these daydreams X"D

I also very badly and incredibly distractingly want to re-draw Boba - I've drawn him so long ago, and it feels deeply unfair that I tried to puzzle out the style on him - and while Din got his upgrades bit by bit Boba just didn't. Also. Ares. Ares looks so good in his character art just sitting around like that - all casual-like - and Boba also has his trademark sprawl and... Look. I'm back to Boba being my most favourite clone, okay? I miss him. I miss drawing him. There.

i reworked my original timeline because something was bugging me about it and now it SHOULD be correct

NOTE: some of these dates are approximated from generalizations made in the book– for example, nicky says andrew's letter to aaron arrives two weeks after cass calls tilda. i assume this is an general use of 'two weeks', but i've taken it literally as 14 days, which is why the letter is dated to arrive november 29th. approximated/assumed dates are marked with a *

november 4th, 1986: aaron michael and andrew joseph minyard are born to tilda minyard in san jose, california

november 7th¹*, 1986: tilda gives the twins away to foster care

november 14th*, 1986: tilda returns to the hospital and takes aaron home with her, leaving andrew behind.

november 4th, 1999: aaron and andrew turn 13 years old. aaron lives in san jose with his mother, and andrew lives in oakland with his foster parents cass and richard spear. they are unaware of each other

november 14th², 1999: oakland raiders vs san diego chargers football game at ring central stadium in oakland. aaron and tilda go with one of tilda's boyfriends, and whilst there, aaron is mistaken for andrew by officer phil higgins, who takes tilda's contact information to pass onto andrew's foster mother, hoping to reunite the brothers

november 15th, 1999: cass spear calls tilda to arrange a meet up for aaron and andrew, but tilda refuses, telling cass she wants nothing to do with andrew and to not call her again. aaron hears all of this by listening in on the upstairs phone line, and he and tilda argue.

november 29th* 1999: aaron recieves a letter from andrew that basically says "fuck you, go away."

december 1999: cass writes aaron a letter asking him to try contacting andrew again in the spring, and that holidays are a difficult time at their house

march 2000: andrew goes to juvie for an unspecified offense

may 2000: tilda and aaron move to columbia, south carolina, and aaron meets his cousin nicky hemmick for presumably the first time.

*unspecified time in early-ish 2001³: luther hemmick finds out about andrew and begins a 'years-long' campaign to reunite him with tilda and aaron. i am choosing to place this around april 2001

six months later, approx. october 2001: luther flies to california to meet andrew and his foster family

one month later, november 2001: aaron flies out to 'meet' andrew for the first time at juvie. they have probably just turned 15

march⁴ 2003: andrew makes early parole and is released from juvie. luther makes tilda take him home, and then aaron, andrew, and tilda, finally all live together in columbia

→ sidebar: on the second night living there, andrew makes his deal with aaron

august 2003: aaron and andrew start their junior years at macon high school, andrew's first outside of juvie

may⁷ 2004: andrew, 17, finishing his junior year of high school, is put on trial for what he did and sentenced. his parole agreement includes court-mandated therapy and mood altering drugs that he is scheduled to be on for 3 years

august 2004: andrew and aaron begin their senior year at macon high school

february⁸ 2005: kevin day and riko moriyama offer andrew a contract to play with the edgar allan ravens, which he refuses. kevin and riko travel to south carolina to find out why, where andrew refuses again and he and aaron play a scrimmage with kevin on the court

march 2005: david wymack meets with the twins and nicky at subway, and gives the three of them contracts to sign with the palmetto state foxes, which they do

june 2005: aaron, andrew, and nicky finally join the lineup for the PSU foxes

1) guesstimate based on when i think it's legal to give children to foster care. i assume its not that long after birth, and i believe the twins had to spend time in the ICU beforehand as well. the 14th is an approximation based on the fact that nicky says tilda went back for aaron after a week

Chose a Christmas theme for this post because it's my favorite time of the year.

⋆✴���˚｡⋆ I usually noticed that the House placement of your Sun often indicates the season of the year and the holiday even you like the most in the year.

⋆✴︎˚｡⋆ For example, my Sun is in 10H, and 10H is ruled by Capricorn. Capricorn season is between December 22 to January 19.

I love Winter and my favorite Holiday is Christmas, which falls in the Capricorn season.

⋆✴︎˚｡⋆ My Best Friend also loves Winter season, and her sun is in 9H, and this House is a Sagittarius House. Sagittarius Season is between November 22 to December 21.

Despite Sagittarius being part of Fall Seasons, this is end of it so it can also work for Winter Season.

⋆✴︎˚｡⋆ If the House placement doesn't corresponds, I suggest checking sign over your Sun sign ^^ This may not be accurate for everyone but this is something I have noticed that seems be quite accurate.

Happy Birthday Huey, Dewey and Louie and Happy Birthday Daffy Duck! - Birthday Party and Easter Party - Crossover Birds (Ducks and Woodpeckers) - Happy Easter - Duck comics, Duckverse, Looney Tunes and Woody Woodpecker - my style and my version

Finally, after eight years, the day has come when all Christians will celebrate Easter on the same day! To all who celebrate, I wish you a Happy Easter! As you know, Easter is celebrated because on that day Jesus Christ, after the third day since he died on the cross, was resurrected from the dead and proved that there is life after death, only faith is needed for that (whoever believes, let someone believe) and most Christians celebrate it, although it depends on the calendar when exactly it is celebrated.

So I wish everyone a happy Easter, Christ is risen!

Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to do a special drawing before about Easter and birthdays related to my favorite characters, but now I did. This year, Easter is in the same week, and some of the best ducks ever have birthdays, namely Daffy Duck from Looney Tunes who celebrates his birthday on April 17th and Donald's nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck who celebrate their birthdays on April 15th (in my headcanon they celebrate their birthday when I do, on April 5th). So I wish them a happy birthday!

So I made a crossover drawing of Disney and Warner Bros. ducks plus the Universal woodchucks. Of course I drew them in the classic version in my own way. Yes, they are there, because I wanted to draw a crossover of iconic characters from those franchises that I enjoyed as a child and enjoy now. On April 15, 1938, the famous trio appeared in the classic Donald Duck short, called “Donald’s Nephews”, which will change the history of the Duckverse in part. Naughty, but also smart at the same time (Junior Woodchucks). On April 17, 1937, Daffy Duck appeared in Porky’s Hunt (classic short) and later became one of the main characters in Looney Tunes. At the same time, Daffy is one of my favorite characters not only in Looney Tunes, but also in cartoons and comics in general. I also love the crazy silly Daffy, and I also love him as a jerk, as both characters suit him. And according to some, Daffy is the father of Donald's nephews, don't ask me why, so it makes sense that they share a birthday. XD Not to go on, there is also a joint birthday Easter cake plus Easter eggs (chocolate eggs, not real eggs) and together as a family they celebrate the most important holiday after Christmas and New Year. Melissa Duck who hugs Daffy is his girlfriend, and their couple is certainly the best in my opinion after Donald and Daisy. Otherwise, happy belated birthday to Melissa who celebrates her birthday on March 4th. Apart from them, there are also Donald and Daisy Duck, April, May and June Duck (Daisy's nieces-Dutch version), Plucky Duck and Shirley the Loon from Tiny Toons (Plucky is Daffy's student and partly Daffy's nephew in my headcanon, and Shirley is Melissa's niece in my headcanon) and of course the legendary Woody Woodpecker from Universal along with his girlfriend Winnie and his nephew Knothead and niece Splinter. Yes, Woody and his family are some of my favorite characters, if anyone asks. Yes, Donald and Daffy don't really get along, but this time at least they didn't fight over the kids like they usually do, otherwise they would definitely get along well. XD Yes, Donald and Daffy are my best ducks and best characters and it's hard for me to tell them who's the best, but that's just my opinion. All in all, everyone enjoys the Christian holiday and birthday together, as well as the arrival of spring.
