I'm honestly so glad they introduced a new protagonist. Not just because Rook is a darling, but also because Inquisitor would have been a horrible choice for the story they wrote.

#🌞#🎮#ramblings #The Inquisitor is a character that is faceless and lacking in personality by definition. I ranted on and on that they foil Solas as #his Fen'Harel persona NOT the Solas core.#They lack personal identity behind the title; Rook has no political standing for the most part and their 'title' is personal.#They got the name either because they think in straight lines or because they cheat in games. Whichever one is canon.#That's a personality trait. Rook is defined through their origin & qualities that have nothing to do with political profess.#If I may— Rook's main canon trait goes directly against political qualities? They're exiled for that?#And like I know that most people headcanoned 90% of their Inquisitors because what else can you do but it's like. Not in the game.#So y e a h having a new protagonist that actually foils Solas as Solas was a good decision.#I get that some people are really attached to their Inquisitors and sure they could have polished that dialogue a little more.#Introducing Inquisitor as a protagonist past-Trespasser is deconstructing them as a character. Or just making Trespasser 2.0 #Sorry for the rant every time I see a 'Inquisitor would be a better protagonist' comment I wonder if we played the same DAI.#'cause no they're a politician with frankly 0 standing in the North. going up to bat against the wii u lovers on my 3DS blog was a mistake i did not realize it had that many defenders to this day

#like it sold terribly compared to the 3DS.... the 3DS was extremely popular #and im not going to lie there was kind of a reason for that #also imo the failure of the wii u is simply because. why would u bother getting a new console thats more of the same. like the wii sold #extremely well and so like. there was no reason to get a wii u cuz the wiis still worked just fine #i think the switch 2 is gonna suffer the same fate im not gonna lie #unless they get a new animal crossing as a launch title exclusive its cooked #like animal crossing sold so many switch consoles. cuz it appealed to non gamers #the same happened with the wii #switch 2 seems like its basically only made for gamers #like just *look* at it #im sorry wii u defenders but theres a reason it didnt sell well;;;;#its not like people were lacking the money cuz the 3DS sold like hotcakes #its just the 3DS had better games on it

style experimentation!!! for a story ive been pondering on:) It's very important to me that, if i ever commit to making a comic with this story, that it has a realistic-leaning style. It needs to feel very grounded, but also being simplified into a way that allows distinguishable character designs and is feasibly simple enough for a comic/graphic novel or comic-adjacent format.

I'm more happy with the first, even if the second is a bit more realistic leaning! the first defiantly is cleaner and more distinguishable i think, and has more "personality"(?) than the second, even if the second is in an more dynamic pose. But thats just my thoughts on it so far- if anyone has feedback I'd love to hear it!!!

#also. to um #clarify i guess???#you dont need to have a specific style for your stories/comics or whatever. you can tell very grounded stories with a more cartoony style #very good examples of this in xenofiction are what lurks beneath by ArualMeow and i didnt know by Songdog #also vice versa you can tell silly stories with a more realistic style!! cant think of any examples rn tho #(cartoony for lack of better word btw. maybe “illustrative” would be a better word????? idk #aaannnyyyywayyyyyyyyyyyy #i want this to have a realistic style specifically because the point of this story is to talk get people to emotionally relate to what is -#meant to represent a straight up real animal. they wont talk at all. this comic would have no dialogue!!! these cats will just be cats!#i want to focus on speaking on real world problems animals face by being overly humanized/projecting human values onto them AND issues they #face by the LACK of human emotion attatched to them. yknow???????#im rambling but like its an important topic to me. finding the balance between recognizing that animals have feelings and emotional lives--#even if they dont have the same cognitive abilities as us. and also recognizing that!! theyre animals!!! they cannot be held responsible fo #their natural behaviors!!!! yknow???#guh.#anyway. ermmmm #story: greener grass grows where wildfires glow #<- temp title nameeeeee #art #cats #yay.#kitties #yayyy

#so here’s the thing-#and I am in awe of anyone who watched that episode who took those crumbs #and they were indeed literal crumbs and accepted it #but that doesn’t change the fact that we were robbed- and not just robbed #but the clip of Maya Rudolph at the Emmys this year where she pronounces robbed as ROB-BA-DAH #like explaining it here does no justice but I promise you it’s amazing #but we were told this is a big Tarlos episode #this would have a scene they couldn’t believe they got on tv- better than the second episode we were told #but this is the big Tarlos addresses their problems episode #and here’s what we got- one scene of them in therapy- almost all of which was released as a preview #like the only thing missing was the dinner scene #and also it’s unfair to say it’s such steamy scene when it goes nowhere because someone falls asleep #and the lack of context we have been given - it would have been better to jump right from the premiere to this one #because we were given nothing outside of the premiere to think they would do this #because the show doesn’t take the time to let us see these problems outside of one episode #like honestly this isn’t about TK or Carlos #because yes it’s like these issues aren’t easily fixed #but these issues should be addressed and especially since Carlos doesn’t seem like he would want to do this #and we’re told this in the 120 seconds we see of them in therapy #that it would be worthwhile to take the time to explain how they got there #but to say this is a big Tarlos episode - and their therapy scene is over before the title card #and to not see them together at all before they resolve everything #like we deserved more #we were told we were getting more #like to each and every fanfic writer out there let me grab you by the shoulders and tell you this #I wish you had written this season. #i haven't even watched s2 yet also when i tell you i saw official merch in a mall and i JUMPED at it #i could ramble abt link click all day #the animation ofc is gorg even if it can look a bit goofy and off model sometimes #THE STORYTELLING.... insanity (affectionate)#the first episode is extremely compelling from the get go with no bulky exposition it's conveyed naturally and immediately introduces us to #-the main 'gimmick' for lack of a better word and still hits so many emotional beats in the FIRST EPISODE #characterises our main trio (less so qiao ling but we see her more later) AND fleshes out a stranger's life in 20 minutes????#(the whole thing is that they dive back in time thru photos to solve clients problems so each episode introduces us to new strangers with-#-different backstories and problems and characterisation and the DEPTH with which they're portrayed is lovely)#all while also furthering our understanding of the main duo of cheng xiaoshi and lu guang AND with broader story things happening in the bg #not to mention ofc the chinese title of the donghua is 时光代理人 quite literally time agents and the way i was like waitttt #程小时 as in xiaoshi like hours and 陆光 put it tgt and u got the shiguang in the title as in time so they complement each other.... oughhh #but yeah the way they handle levity and humour and balance it with drama and tragedy is perfect godd it's wonderful #link click #personal

we are comparing charles in ferrari (a relatively competent team now with a good car base and only a handful of strategic errors last season) to pato in arrow mclaren (a dogshit team with no direction, constant strategic and mechanical errors, and more drama than the rest of indy combined) (<- penske doesn't count)

so... i'm going to guess charles

#charles is also a better driver than pato #granted this could be seen as a positive in that pato has more areas for improvement #indy really rewards consistency and pato simply isn't there yet #he obviously has the skill to do things like overtake or defend as well as anybody else at the top #but he lacks the consistency of palou or even scotty #if he can improve his twitchiness he will be at least in the discussion for the title #he just needs to get there #9.75 fm

Is. Is Family from Super Mario Galaxy seriously not on the Nintendo Music app- AND ACTUALLY POST CANCELLED it seems the playlists are actually just Best Of playlists (at least for Galaxy) and if there's song missing you need to look it up individually!

#the more i use this app the more i realize i don't. like it!#it's a fine app but i have some issues with it ghcbcdf #it like constantly loses connection #i kind of understand but don't enjoy that you can't set a loop timer for non looping songs cause you can still put them on repeat #not a point against it but i wish there were more non switch titles on it too i'm excited for more stuff to get added #but ooough the lack of a sleep timer really annoys me because i KNOW the only reason it doesn't have one is cause of Alarmo #like i know i shouldn't complain i'm literally using my brother's Nintendo Switch online and leeching off of him fhdhdhd BUT LIKE #it needs work. i'm hoping it'll get better over time cause I've wanted this for a while

someone worded this better on twitter but i would be so okay with tipo never becoming canon. like. i just want to see more of them & the five in general bc i can't get enough of them; my paranoia is just that if (& that's a very big if) a romance gets written w zhen when the potential between tigress & po's friendship has been building over three movies i will cause 17 natural disasters at once
