Hi! Where can I read/find the Hayden and Monroe fic? I love them sm

it's on ao3! it's called fleeting touch, because the premise is about the little fleeting moments of falling in love, and the theme is ... well, touch 💛

i posted it back in september but was just too shy to say anything here (๑﹏๑)💦 but i've been gaining confidence by posting monroe more often! here's a snippet:

1) For your Werewolf!Deku AU, if werewolves were just a thing that exists separately from quirks as a whole, would that mean that any other paranormal creatures would exist as well?

2) You said that he initially got attacked (and then presumably infected/changed into a werewolf lol) sometime between first getting OFA or after everyone moved into the dorms, but that he doesn’t fully recall it. I’ve been thinking of potential ways in which the attack could play out, how he could stumble away from it and get back home somehow, but how could he just… forget about being assaulted?

Did he repress it somehow? Did his super werewolf healing kick in and vanish any proof of injury before anyone could even see it at all? Did he convince himself that he was just imagining things? What are your thoughts on it?

3) Any new werewolf Deku art? I swear, you’ve got me chomping at the bit for more here—it’s just SUCH a fun concept to think about and the way you draw it all is a blast to look at.

When you first showed us it, for example, I think there was a doodle somewhere on the page that showed Izuku with this uncharacteristically hard expression and uncolored eyes. I think drawings like that, where the character is potentially close to losing control or getting precariously angry, are awesome. That kind of intensity is so cool to see.

1) A solid maybe? It’s very funny to think that there’s just quirks and werewolves and nothing else, but I also like the idea of other supernatural elements being out there

2) I think there’s a combination of reasons that the attack was so hazy for him. Yes his brain kind of repressed it, and all the injuries healed so fast that they were gone the next morning, not even Inko saw them. I also borrowed some concepts from vampire lore, where in some versions their bite has venom that is able to make the victim forget the attack ever took place so they can continue to feed on people without outright killing them or being discovered. I was imagining something similar happening with the werewolf bite, where it doesn’t necessarily erase the memories but makes it almost feel like a dream or clouds over it so you can’t really comprehend what exactly happen and your brain rationalizes it as something else, like a dog chasing you down an alley or something. I think all these factors combined made Deku chalk up the attack to a strange dream

3) once I get through this semester, I definitely want to make more werewolf au art !! :D

Also I know the sketch you’re talking about and yess when I drew it, I was imagining deku having a harder time controlling his more negative emotions as it gets closer the the full moon. Being kind of grumpy and more aggressive in training, but also befuddled as to why he’s in such a bad mood and apologizing profusely about it lol

He drinks coffee, but I’m torn between two headcanons

— He likes and drinks coffee but he views it as more of a necessity rather than a treat, because he needs it to function throughout the day. He likes both coffee and tea equally but he drinks coffee way more bc he needs it more

— Coffee/Caffeine doesn’t affect him whatsoever (cookie for whoever can guess what headcanon this fits into), he just drinks it bc he loves it. Everyone around him always assumes he needs it to survive bc of how much he’s chugging coffee throughout the day, but he’s simply drinking it bc he loves it. He still likes tea and loves having tea with McGonagall but he can’t live without coffee.

Ooh, this is a fun question… Funnily enough, I’ve given quite a bit of thought to this in the past. Buckle up, because I’ve got a bunch of beverage headcanons for you!

Without further ado, here’s my take… (under the break)

I imagine Bruno isn’t a huge drinker when it comes to alcohol. (As you said, he’s definitely not a beer guy.) Most of the time, he prefers to keep a sharp, clear mind, ready for whatever may come his way. That said, it doesn’t stop him from appreciating a good glass of wine. Wine is such a key part of Italian culture that it’s hard to picture Bruno not enjoying it. (In fact, I headcanon that Bruno is actually pretty passionate about the subject of wine—we’ll get to that in a bit.) He drinks it for the taste rather than the effect it gives.

Because he doesn’t usually like being inebriated, he limits himself to small amounts—typically just a glass with a meal. On days off, however, he may enjoy a bit more wine than he usually does. Even though Bruno enjoys red wine, I feel like he leans more toward white wine, with a special fondness for sparkling varieties. He’s not a huge fan of a ton of fizz, though, so he goes for older sparkling wines where the bubbles have softened a bit.

I like to think Bruno has a good understanding of wine, largely thanks to Polpo’s influence. Whether he wanted to or not, Bruno surely picked up knowledge from Polpo, who, being the foodie he is, likely gave plenty of unsolicited lectures about wine. Bruno absorbed more than enough to discuss things like aging processes or which years produced the best vintages.

I also imagine Bruno’s interest in wine began because of Polpo’s constant ramblings. It’s not that Bruno had negative feelings toward wine before meeting him; he probably just didn’t think much of it, especially as a twelve-year-old. I can picture Polpo launching into a long-winded explanation about wine or food before delivering some important assignment with Bruno thinking, “If it were really important, you wouldn’t spend this much time talking about wine.”

But that forced exposure grew into genuine interest, and now Bruno has become passionate about it. Picture him excitedly sharing wine facts with a partner or someone he cares about, then catching himself mid-sentence and apologizing for rambling. (He’ll think back to his conversations with Polpo and wonder if he’s overstepping his boundaries.) But, of course, his partner reassures him that it’s okay. I like to think Bruno tends to ramble about things he’s passionate about since he didn’t have much chance to express his interests growing up. So, when he gets the chance, he dives in a bit too deep, almost by accident.

He probably has a decent collection of wines with a few rare or expensive bottles. However, Bruno isn’t the type to splurge, so most of the high-end bottles were likely gifts. He saves them for special occasions.

Now that you bring it up, I can also see Bruno being a limoncello drinker. I’ve never had it before, but it looks pretty good. Based on its description, I too think Bruno would like it.

As for coffee, I imagine Bruno enjoys espresso—or “caffé,” as Italians call it. It’s not an everyday thing, but when he does indulge, it’s usually a plain shot of espresso. (Occasionally, he treats himself to a caffé latte or cappuccino.) He avoids drinking too much, as he doesn’t like the jittery feeling caffeine can bring. If he’s close with someone, he’d probably prefer sipping from their coffee rather than ordering his own.

Bruno doesn’t strike me as someone who’d enjoy soda (or pop, depending on where you’re from). As mentioned, he’s not fond of fizzy drinks, and soda is not only fizzy but also loaded with calories, which wouldn’t appeal to him.

When asking @cornerfortherats this question to see her take on this ask, she wrote that she could also see him enjoying “Iced tea and those sugar-free mix drinks. (Think like kool-aid. Particularly the blue raspberry one.) In my mind, he buys the really weird flavored ones to try for fun because they’re relatively cheap and on occasion his reaction is just this:”

Of course, Bruno drinks plain water too. He knows how important it is to stay hydrated and tries to keep up with it. But, with how busy he is, it’s not unusual for him to forget sometimes.

this feels really odd to ask but but what do you think the hunting dogs' thoughts are about death? specifically if they die and how? cause I feel like all of them share a variation of "I will go down guns blazing and with glory"

fukuchi definitely feels it and I feel like jouno as well. they've both had rough and violent lives so I feel like they've always thought death was just right around the corner.

I don't know about the rest of them though. teruko I feel shares the thought but not as intense as the other two, and I dont know about tecchou and tachihara.

ohhh i’ve been thinking of the best way to answer this for DAYS. this analysis will be long so ill put it under a readmore.

the hunting dogs and death - analysis

overall, it is shown that they can die. i assume due to their abilities and bodily enhancements that they do not die of injuries very easily. it makes me wonder how disease hits them? partially mechanical bodies may not respond to illness as well as natural bodies would? or maybe the opposite and they can heal more so internally? anyways here's my thoughts on how each hunting dog perceives dying!!

fukuchi

i see fukuchi as fairly self-preserving up until the end. he can't die in battle because he needs to make sure the decay of angels plot carries out.

remember that he was warned of this at nine years old. he had to spend his life preparing for this. he likely grew very wary of living recklessly and became great at fighting very fast and young; i assume that's why he went through dojos to fight as a child.

under no circumstances could he die until the world was safe.

i imagine he put on a selfless face and was willing to take serious harm in order to protect the peace, but i highly doubt he was ever willing to sacrifice his life until his plan worked out.

here we see his thought process and how things need to fall into place. his participation was essential because in no other situation would fukuzawa be the one able to get access to the one order. if fukuchi had died beforehand, the war would play out as the amenogozen warning claimed.

he had to leave the world to fukuzawa, the man he could trust most before facing his own demise.

of course, at this point in the series he has been killed since that was the final goal of his plan. a noble death for a fantastic hero.

jouno

im actually a little conflicted on his perception of death. i believe jouno is willing to sacrifice his life if absolutely necessary but is probably more self-preserving than the others. i believe he likely uses his confident and slightly arrogant attitude to hide this self-preserving mindset. someone who comes off as intimidating or nonchalant during battle is more likely to throw off the enemy whereas appearing nervous or angry will make them seem vulnerable. i believe jouno also sees himself as very strategic and able to get out of situations easily if needed. he's a quick thinker from what we've seen thus far.

lets look at when he confronted fukuchi.

he starts off very confidently accepting the offer. we know this is a facade but him immediately trying to throw fukuchi off guard seems so show he's pretty confident in his next move.

but when this doesn't work, he immediately tries to flee. this is fairly unique for a fight in bsd, many characters will often fight until they either get what they wish or they're too injured to move. despite jouno having an ability that could dodge fukuchi's, he still chose to try and escape instead of continuing to fight. this is a very normal human reaction to have but not one you see as often.

and at a disturbance, he begins to panic and needs to ground himself by reassuring himself instead of fighting back. he's not willing to put his life on the line to stop a global terrorism and his own escape is seen as a victory, which i see as him being more self-preserving. this all took place before the sword was set on fire, so it wasn't as if he had that threat to escape yet.

however, there's a chance he just didn't know how to fight the amenogozen; but his ability was definitely one of the best to fight against fukuchi with.

still, he's smart and made sure to plan adequately in case he was injured in the battle against fukuchi. he wants to keep himself safe, but he's still smart enough to take precaution.

i think jouno has probably been through a lot in his life and wants to spend a while living happily, making him more afraid to die than the others. this is even shown when he took teruko being angry as a threat while fukuchi laughed over it.

(as a small note, fukuchi's line in the anime was "haha. it seems our gremlin is angry today" which makes more sense in this context).

so tldr i think jouno would only go down if absolutely necessary and otherwise is fairly self-prioritizing.

tecchou

i believe tecchou would sacrifice himself if it brings justice.

however, he seems to see himself as one responsible for judgement, so i imagine he gives every single fight his all.

regardless of him acting as judgement, it's been shown that tecchou is willing to die if he fails at his work.

here he promises that if he were to fail he would commit seppuku (killing oneself via slicing through your stomach--an honourable death for a samurai fighter (which lines up with irl tetchou coming from samurai lineage)), which is an incredibly agonizing way to die. regardless, he is fully willing to do it if it is for peace. this shows a confidence in death and commitment to his sense of justice to an extreme manner.

and when he found himself in a situation where he was in the wrong, he immediately admitted defeat and asked his opponent to kill him.

he admits defeat, says his wrongs and is willing to accept the consequences.

he even jumps to the harsh conclusion that he isn't worthy of his title as a hunting dog. the stark white in his eyes show that his mind isn't corrupted and that he is doing what he believes is proper justice. incredibly noble.

luckily he was spared-and likely learned a lot about justice not always being as black and white as things appear.

overall, tecchou is a very noble fighter and is willing to put his life on the line for justice. he doesn't seem to fear death and will embrace it if he feels it is earned or deserved.

tachihara

i have less to say about tachihara than the others. i see him as the type that will go down over what's right and that's shown during his fight with fukuchi.

he isn't willing to fear death or beg for forgiveness. he will go down if it is worthy.

we also see that he keeps a argumentative spirit towards the enemy despite the circumstances. he will put down his opponent even in the moment of death, he just has the confidence to.

this panel also shows that he's more willing to die than to be defeated. he doesn't want to harm anyone and be controlled so he tries to kill himself first.

overall, he's a strong fighter who isn't afraid to sacrifice his life for what he believes in. his orders make him who he is, and if the orders are to win he either will or he will die trying.

(of course that last part doesn't really count when he was posing as a mafioso because he couldn't blow his cover by easily surviving everything).

teruko

much like tachihara, teruko seems to be very willing to put herself on the line to keep people safe. this is shown almost immediately in her introduction.

if ordered, she is willing to die. she's incredibly dedicated to her job and would go down if it saves people.

she's willing to go to drastic measures to keep herself alive as well, destroying her eardrum and continuing to try and fight sigma despite being under the directed resonance guns (which were made to destroy people like her). she didn't run, and she did absolutely everything she could have done in order to win.

she seems to also pride herself in fighting and being hurt in battle, likely to show her resilience and ability to do whatever it takes if it saves people.

she even goes on to call the hunting dogs "society's servants" and refers to the enhancement surgeries as "searing order into their own bodies."

this immense dedication makes me strongly believe that she would have no problem sacrificing herself if it is for the best. she killed fukuchi despite really caring for him, so i can see her being willing to put herself into that situation as well.

my anonymous assumption is that you read warrior cats as a kid in an attempt to fit in with all the other kids reading it but you never really got into it. you liked the roleplaying at recess that came from it though

you're nearly right but underestimating my autism. cats were my first special interest (*i highly doubt this is unique for autistic babies). my first word was kitty. I made a songbook where I wrote out the lyrics to varuous public domain singalong songs and changed most of the words to 'Cat' or 'Kitty'. I made a warrior cats role playing card game and played it on my own. I was roleplaying at recess and friends' houses until we were 'too old'. I missed it terribly.

thank you to everyone who showed interest in this post! ive been brainstorming in the background and just wanted to share my thought process on how i wanted to go ahead with making the characters / routes etc.

its going to be 8 ocs / routes plus the secret ending / route. im estimating 2 women one nb 5 men but i will see where insp takes me💖.

every character will get their own post! i hope to make a template with some profile info and then notes below about their route, what kind of oto.me tropes they fall into, plot ideas for them and any info you need to know before deciding to answer their call (even if your muse isn't going to be privy to it) :^)

after all the chara templates are out i am considering making an mc template so that you guys can have some fun and make some (we can talk abt it more in dms it wouldnt be an expectation but I want to be as interactive as possible) & release the template the characters have incase you wish to go for the what if seperate route (aka instead of joining the line to meet these people, you can be their coworker!)

while this may take some time im absolutely HYPED to know you guys are just as invested as i am and i cannot wait to deliver on it!

Oh man for sure! It really depends what you're interested in, but I just finished Hugh Raffles's The Book of Unconformities which was utterly fascinating.

Climate Anxiety and the Kid Question by Jade Sasser was REALLY excellent if you ever feel like you're fighting against the ecofascist tide of wondering how any parent lives with themselves these days.

I will say it over and over but Underland by Robert Macfarlane is a brilliant work of art. (I should actually put this officially on my re-read list post finishing this draft. Down to one chapter!)

In general I do find there is such a broad range of nonfiction out there; some of it is really poorly written but interesting, and some of it is beautifully written but banal, and then sometimes it manages to actually be both beautiful and interesting, and exploring nonfiction tends to involve working out which is which. I will finish a book with mediocre writing but an interesting topic and research, but if it's stupid, I will dnf. So I find reading nonfiction is really about what you find most interesting and picking accordingly. I tend to enjoy posting up in the philosophy or nature sections at the bookstore and reading every jacket cover that seems remotely my speed, and then picking books based on that!

I go into why Vox left/ended his partnership with Alastor in this post, but if I'd be happy to answer if you have any detailed questions about that!

As for who disappeared for seven years-- neither of them have, not yet! All that happened seven years ago was that Vox officially ended his long-standing partnership with Alastor first. I waited a bit to answer this ask, since I wasn't too decided yet, until I finished writing that RR!AU one-shot.

It brushes on their divide a bit, but ultimately in the past 7 years, nobody went on a 'sabbatical' or leave. Vox has just been shifting around his empire and getting into weird, exponentially higher-stake deals. At a more abnormal and erratic rate than he used to the last six or seven decades he's been in Hell, at least!

Gilmore Girl here. I so didn't want to bother you more. But I love coming here because you love Luke, Lorelie and Rory as much as we love Eddie Buck and Chris. You just wrote something on a post about jumping and it reminded me of "you jump I jump Jack". So I took it as a sign and now you are cursed!!!!!

Anyways. Reading the other side the last few weeks about how devastated Buck is just shows me they don't get it. Have they watched TV? Lorelie spent a whole episode in bed with her girls and a driver coming through for her. She made a heartbreaking call she rushed to steal. Coming home to find Luke already rushed to her. Then, episodes that showed the complexity of their relationship. Luke throwing people out of the diner and destroying his food. Like that's a slow burn break up people. Buck clearly is just, I would classify it more as confused and his own issues is no painful break up.

And would just add this. They think it's a win Buck mentioned Tommy twice. But no babies. That was clearly a pallette cleanser IMHO. It was to erase that and show how much deeper this is.

Honestly tho, a slowburn breakup is an event. Rory driving back from Yale, Luke straight up kicking people out the dinner, Lorelai not being able to get out of bed. Lorelai actually calling and Luke dropping everything to go to her even tho he broke up with her. That's slowburn breakup drama. Everyone knew they didn't want to stay broken up, Emily getting involved, the town picking sides. But sure, Buck can't stop making bread and people keep telling him not to call, what an amazing set up lol

It's not like any other of Buck's breakups yk, Buck broke up with Ali, Taylor, Natalia and the mourning period for the relationship was off screen since the breakup happened during the hiatus, they need to show Buck dealing with it.

Also, you don't bother me, please send me the thoughts, I love the Gilmore Girls comparisons.
