Study Trick That No One Told Me.

Division of subjects:

Every subject is learnt and graded in a different way. You can't use the same study techniques for every subject you have. You have mostly 3 types of subjects:

Memorization based

Practical/Question based

Theory/Essay based

Memorization based:

Mostly Biology, Sciences, Geography etc are fully based on memorization and so you'll use memory study techniques like flash cards and active recall.

Practical/Question based:

Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Accountancy etc are practice subjects. The more you do your questions and understand how a sum is done, the better you can score.

Theory/Essay based:

English, history, business studies etc are theory based. The more you write, the way you write and the keywords you use are the only things that will get you your grades. So learn the formats and the structure on how to write your answers

Note: Some subjects are a combination of the three. Like Economics etc

The reason we divide the subjects is because you can adopt the right study methods for the right subject. Like ex: business studies is mostly based on how you write your answer and the keywords, if you're gonna spend your time memorizing in this, it's a waste of time and energy.

Hey guys! Posting this here because I find it important-

Money is super scary shit and can cause a lot of anxiety, but please please for the love of god-

Do not avoid looking at your finances.

I cannot stress this enough. I'm in no real position to give any meaningful advice other than that. Keeping an eye on your finances and looking at them at least once a week will help break the cycle of money avoidance.

I spent most of my life being super money avoidant due to how I was raised and it caused me to get into a really rough patch because I straight up missed nearly a year of student loan payments. It very nearly fucked over my whole financial life. Thankfully it has a happy ending- I paid off my loans in 2019 and have effectively repaired my credit score (after a lot of work.)

I am currently helping some family members budget for student debt repayments because I had both fucked around and found out, so I'm trying to use that recovery and lessons learned to help the people in my life.

Please please please keep up to date with your own finances. Budget (it's honestly really easy even though it sounds intimidating.) Gamify it if you gotta. Just be sure you are looking at your account and are aware of your money situation at all times.

Financial HCs for the G1 Transformers!

This is for the part all pre/post-war, but I still thought it was funny.

Optimus

Op is pretty responsible, and was decently stable. Not super stable, but not frequently worrying about food or anything kind of unstable. The only thing he’s bad at budgeting is when it comes to purchasing interface amenities.

Elita

Elita’s like Optimus, pretty responsible and stable. Again, only irresponsible with interface amenities, and hers is usually on restraints and collars, compared to his more on toys and other items. Usually Optimus is the one who spends more at a store floating around, where she’s in and out with exactly what she needed/wanted.

Jazz

For being a career criminal who stole money for a living pre-war, he’s not the best at budgeting. He sees one thing that he thinks he should get Prowl, and all responsibility goes out the window. So pre-war, he’s neither financially stable nor responsible, and is only stable post-war bc he’s got Prowl around and pretty much everyone is pretty stable.

Prowl

Prowl is stable, but isn’t super good at budgeting at first, even though Barricade taught him how to do it properly. Ultimately he gets better eventually, and by FOP he’s really good at taxes. And post-war he’s the one doing them (bc Jazz commits tax evasion on the regular-).

Starscream

Starscream is incredibly financially stable, and responsible. He is a prince born into old money, and when he went to the science academy he was cut off and forced to budget a small allowance every month, so he learned very fast how to properly manage money.

He does taxes (tax him more, for all he cares. He loves taxes), he is very cost aware and efficient (this does not mean he’s cutting corners, he’s just well aware of what he’s spending, and how it will affect him later down the line, when he gets things.), and is not typically known for blowing his money for fun. Sometimes he’s a small spending mood, most of the time he’s pretty stingy with anything >10-20$.

Megatron and Soundwave

These two have no sense of financial responsibility. Combined they have less than 50¢, and Starscream is betting the approximate number is 42¢.

They’re both broke, and don’t know how to handle any amount of money. Star can barely give them a 20$ bill without them immediately sending it down the drain, they’re that bad.

Im trying to be a little more thrifty lately. Just the usual like not ordering food, getting rid of gym membership, using what's in my fridge, doing a budget etc...

If anyone else has tips on saving/cost cutting in day to day life I'd love to hear it. Food related especially.

I'll be trying to pay down my small debts before I handle the behemoth of my student loan debt, as well as save up an emergency fund for myself. I have two jobs and one passive source of income (inprnt) but any additional ideas are welcome.

Welp! Winter's boy has a respiratory infection. It was causing him to wheeze so to the vet we went! Luckily it wasn't a diaphram issue (which had us worried because of his umbilical hernia). His hernia also came up normal on his x-rays.

(X-rays left out because might bother people, but I can send them on request)

He's on meds several times a day and taking them like a champ, but had to be put in a pen with limited free playtime (because nothing will stop Mr Indestructible from running around the house with all the grace of a car with no breaks). We DID get a reply after just a week from a really nice person who was going to give us one (shocked us let me tell ya because it was BIG dog sized). Unfortunately, they left it outside for us to pick up and someone else just... took it. Right out of their yard. And since all we had was a small cat carrier to keep him in (which was kinda cruel for more than a day or two tops), we ordered a cat playpen that we got for a decent price. We kept looking until it got here, but no luck. Still! It's a nice playpen and we have it set up so he doesn't have to jump if he doesn't want to (plus more vertical to enjoy later on). Sarah's mom also let us borrow her water fountain!

We went to a new vet as ours was booked up (and he had already been wheezing a day). Everyone basically fell in love with him instantly. He left with a little toy from the tech, they gave Winter a jar of honey (one of the people in the office has bees and they wanted to give her something for caring about a kitten that most wouldn't have despite him having a treatable condition), and they've been checking in on how he is recovering (very well since I first typed this actually). He's basically got an entire vet office wrapped around his little paw.

Also, the non-profit we're taking him to for his surgery had a cancelation and his got moved up to the 12th! Counting down the days yall.

Because I gotta kinda mention it, this hit us where it hurts. Between the vet visit and testing, the pen, and the estimated cost for the surgery and followup, it's gonna cost us more than $2k (as long as nothing ELSE goes wrong). We're lucky that we're all super careful with our money, but there's only so much we can save up with three people below the poverty line. Still worth it though. I mean, look at this doofus

He is so stubborn that we can't leave scratch posts upright because he keeps doing THIS! XD

(Truth be told, the only reason all the updates are posted on my tumblr is because I'm the longest winded out of the three of us and I take like 5 billion pictures. XD )

Speaking of, there WOULD be a bonus pic of him and his sister (Melanite, aka Miel) playing under my chair as my cat (Danny) looks on from a safe place, but tumblr kept glitching when I added it.
