(I've often thought about this, and somewhere, never finished, I have gathered images to do some meta on how Ford is actually a very sentimental man, as evidenced by things he has around the Shack. So I'm not adding the next two details to disagree with the post or the tiktok's points.)

I just wanted to add two small corrections:

One, that the evidence of the painting of the tall ship, as seen in Ford's old room in the screenshot in the post, isn't a good piece of evidence for him having mentions/evidence of pirates and boats in his room. The tall ship painting hung over Dipper's be in the attic, and was only seen in Ford's old room briefly in "Carpet Diem", when Dipper moved it there when he claimed it briefly as his room. The painting gets moved back when he goes back to the attic.

(You can argue whether the painting was acquired by Ford, or by Stan. It's pretty unclear. I do like to think of it as having been Ford's though.)

Two, the mention that Ford helped Stan regain his memories with videotapes from their childhood, which must have been kept in pristine condition. This mistake doesn't surprise me, but -- videotapes weren't invented until long after their childhood. I think this was just an unconscious assumption by the maker of the video. In Journal 3, it just says "home movies", and Dipper's drawing includes a reel-to-reel film projector. THAT is the technology they would have had when they were kids!

Those can last for decades, but they do have to be stored carefully, and treated carefully. (They had a tendency to break, but if they did, you could physically splice them together and still play them.).

So the point stands! Ford kept those, and somehow kept them in good shape (despite heat, humidity, and cold in the cabin). He would have had to go to some effort to keep them able to be played in 2013.

“oh my god. who the fuck is calling you?” billie urged you to check, and you recognised the number to be your best friend. she kissed down your jaw and on your neck, leaving wet bites here and there.

“it’s my friend.” you waited for her to respond, not knowing if this was really the right time to pick up.

“answer it.” her annoyed tone evident when she spoke. but she just continued sucking the skin of your neck.

“yeah?” you spoke into the phone, before billie lifted her head to put the call on speaker, returning to your chest soon after.

“finally, i called three times.” her voice rang loudly through the phone speaker, startling the both of you.

“yeah, we know.” billie mumbled, but it was still audible. her lips on your neck made it almost impossible to focus on the call. your friend rambled on about billie’s tone and how she didn’t know you were together but that it was important, you weren’t really listening.

“well? what is it then?” you grew impatient, wanting billies warm lips back on yours. clearly she felt the same as she saw this as a chance to kiss you again, anticipating a long speech about whatever problematic your friend was so eager to share.

“i can hear you guys making out, it’s fairly disturbing.” the both of you froze, and when billie opened her mouth to speak, you weren’t quite quick enough to stop her.

“well maybe just fuck off then. we’re busy.” you slapped her arm when she said this, her words uncalled for.

“billie!” you scolded before returning to the call, “im sorry you said it’s important, go on?” you reverted your attention back to your friend, holding your hand up to billies face in a gesture for her to shut up.

“it’s not that important, i just called to ask if you’ve been on any of your socials recently?” her tone was leading towards something negative.

“uhh no?” billie reached for her phone to check what she was talking about, the both of you wondering what could be so bad.

“holy fuck, my phones blowing up! it was on mute the entire time but i’ve got like millions of notifications.” she quickly unlocked it to see what was going on.

“someone leaked a photo of you guys kissing.” your friend explained to you. your relationship wasn’t exactly public but naturally there were rumours already, it’s not like it was the end of the world.

“shit.” you leaned closer to billie, aiming to see what she had displayed on your phone.

“ew what a creep, that’s in my fucking kitchen!” you gasped when she showed you the picture.

“god everyone needs to just fuck off!” she huffed while you thanked your friend and ended the call. “i’m sorry baby. you don’t deserve some creep camped out in your garden taking photos of us. i’ll have my security system installed at yours.” she pecked yours lips as she apologised.

“don’t worry, bils. i look good in the photo so what do i care?” she chuckled as her lips came back up to yours.

“yes you do, babe.” she held you tenderly as she kissed you again. and then again, and a couple more times until the situation was forgotten.

Fave Love Scenes of 2024

Still working on the handful of end of year prompts @babyangelsky 's 2024 wrap up. I have one more to do after this one! It's been fun and the more I do these wrap ups the more I see that I really, really didn't watch as many series this year as I thought I did and quite a few didn't keep my attention after they ended the way I thought they would. My attention span is already short and I found it challenging to recall some of these from my challenged memory.

AlanJeff's Final Love Scene from Pit Babe. Oh it left me OBSESSED! It's highkey the scene that turned me into a full-on AlanJeff girlie. It was gentle and passionate and slow and a bit lazy; very in the moment since Alan had just woken up. Loved when Jeff kissed Alan's forehead while Alan kissed his chest. Loved the close-up of their faces pressed together, they looked like a painting. It was a perfect love scene. I need AlanJeff back ASAP.

PhayaTharn Special Ep Love Scene from The Sign. I was going to say the pink scene (lordt knows I love it)...but I feel like we never talked enough about the one from the special ep and I'm sure it's because of how late the special ep was released internationally. Anyways Tharn really thought he was about to leave that bedroom un-fucked on Phaya's watch??? Naw. Hell Naw! He really had that man up against the door. And of course Tharn likes it because he's dreamt about Phaya pressing him up against hard surfaces. And choking, Tharn has dreamt about that too and Phaya knows what his man likes. Tharn looks so pretty even though it's clear he's a bit annoyed I'm sure he enjoyed the dickdown first thing in the AM. BillyBabe are gorgeous together.

Go Young and Young Su Makeup Sex from Love in the Big City. It's toxic. It's hott. It's relatable. It's well shot and well executed. Absolutely love how feral they became in that scene. Big fan of the manhandling and lifting. I doubt that was the first time Young Su had done that with Go Young. I'm sure it was Young Su's 'Go To' to calm Young down. Sometimes some fire dick will make you temporarily calm down and forget your boyfriend is a hot ass mess...more of a hot mess than you are which is actually crazy to think about.

All of OabPlawan's Love Scenes from Love No Long Beans. Because it would be a crime for me to have a favorite. SailubPon are featured twice on this list because they truly have some insane physical chemistry and their love scenes are up there with BossNoeul for me. I love that OabPlawan rarely had love scenes in bed, just getting down and dirty whenever and wherever they felt like it. It really showed how they just went with it when it hit them. It showed that despite their secrecy, they wouldn't be confined to a bed. Oab seemed to be a huge fan of lifting and bending Plawan over stationary surfaces. I approve of their unapologetic and inappropriate uses of counters.

Horny Miyata Being Mad At Iwanaga from Love is Better the Second Time Around. It was such a great love scene. Iwanaga was very much excited to be intimate with someone he held so dearly. Someone he loved. And though Miyata was a very willing participant he couldn't stop thinking about how good at The Sex Iwanaga was because it reminded him that Iwanaga was this intimate with other men. Why did it bother him? Because he felt like Iwanaga had moved on while he was stuck in the past, unable to give himself to anyone else; equating sex to love.

WayuJao's Love Scene from Two Worlds. We got ONE WayuJao love scene and it was amazing. The two of them in that dark ass abandoned house with the soft glow of candlelight. Jao was looking so incredibly nervous. Wagyu Beef was being very careful because Jao was hurt. I love that they kissed each other all over. The scene was intimate, slow, and passionate. Also who was expecting to see that much ass? Also, also Jao was doing a lot of movement with his punctured leg. I do wish we had more time with them in the series because I loved them together.

HuaiBao Hands Scene from Meet You At the Blossom. Perfection, so much so that it was my banner for a long ass time. Xiaobao had a way of making Huai'en feel shy, possessive, and insane all at once. I just found the love scene to be incredibly sweet and romantic. The hand kiss floored me along with their gentle smiles. The way Huai'en was running his hand down Xiaobao's thigh. The way he lightly raised Xiaobao's wrists above his head and how that turned into clasped fingers???? Pure art. Also I just loved Xiaobao's gold bangles in that scene.

GreatTyme's First Time in Great's Dying Brain from 4 Minutes. Oh it was so incredibly awkward. Great out of breath and laughing while Tyme kinda hovers over him. WHEN HE KISSED HIS FOREHEAD! Their kisses were sweet. I love how we got a lil awkward conversation in the silence while they tried to undress and figure things out. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the close-up shots of Great's thigh tattoos and that hand pulling Tyme in closer. Great's Cartier bracelet!!! The way they were smiling and panting in each others faces; kissing and laughing. I also loved the golden light around them. It definitely had the ambiance of a dream.

GreatTyme's Actual First Time from 4 Minutes. It was fun. The open mouth kisses excellent. The way Great couldn't even wait until they got inside to go down on Tyme. And I cheered when Tyme pulled him back up for a kiss right after. Let's talk about Tyme eating Great out on the pool table and the way he was kissing all over the back of his neck! Let's talk about him biting that man's ass cheek. When Great put the condom on Tyme and lubed him up???? Oh that was hott!. Loved watching Great ride Tyme. Jack and Joke's First Time from Jack & Joker. Yea when they started off with Jack shoving Joke up against that wall through the clothes on the hangers? He hit the wall so hard I thought they were fighting and I thought Jack had put Joke through the wall. I love the way they kept shoving each other over so they could be on top. I love that they were both so out of breath the whole time. I loved the messy kisses, the choking, and chin grabbing. Loved the way they had to compromise or they would've been flipping each other over the rest of the series. I just know they left hella bruises and scratches all over each other. Those boys were hungry and feral.

ArashiRei's First Time from Love in the Air Koi. The way Arashi's giant ass had Rei pressed up against that wall, face buried in his neck and shoving his hands under his shirt? Rei looked so overwhelmed he really couldn't even respond, thought he was gon pass out. When Arashi lays Rei down and they kiss and Arashi starts licking Rei's lips?????????? We even got a brief shot of Arashi going down on Rei and I love the view we got of Arashi's back when he was pumping into Rei. Also Rei's moaning gave a porno vibe just a bit which I did enjoy.

and look, this is annoying because it's only the izcourse that makes this feel not obvious to people, and you cannot expect canon (or even semicanonical creator-written microblog fic) to be written in dialogue with dumb fan discourse.

fandom got obsessed with this dumbass debate over whether izzy was secretly already a good guy acting out of ultimately benevolent motives back in s1, and it got us into this weird position where people can only view any new information about izzy as weighing in on that debate - a debate the show itself already answered, definitively, in izzy's own words, on his deathbed! - instead of depicting a character who changed over time.

this is bizarre! characters change a lot and people normally understand that! when aang hugs zuko and they call each other friends nobody got confused and thought it meant they were never enemies. but say anything about how ed remembers izzy and everyone - i mean people on both sides of the izzy divide, for better or worse - thinks it's a statement that's supposed to be true of their whole relationship and not something that ultimately became true of it by the end. one of the big themes of the show is change, and love as a force that both requires and enables change. button changed into a fucking seagull! it doesn't mean he was secretly a seagull the whole time!

izzy changed from the person he was in s1 into a guy who was able to grant ed one genuine moment of unconditional love, and then into a corpse, and now that he's dead he will never change again, he is frozen forever in his final act of grace. and that means when any even semicanonical version of this narrative remembers him from here on out it'll always be as the guy he was in the end, the one who says "just be ed" and means it. he wasn't always that guy. but the story's said all it needed to say about the guy he was before that point. we're not going to relitigate the namby-pamby scene, not because it doesn't matter but because as far as the show's concerned it's resolved. it was resolved when izzy stared directly into the camera and said that he was hurting ed knowingly and intentionally for selfish reasons and that he was doing it consistently for years before they ever met stede bonnet and that it was terrible of him and that he was genuinely sorry for it.

i'm saying this because some people seem to want some fuller reckoning with ed and izzy's earlier relationship and i love that in fic, i think we should all write more fic about it, but you should not expect it here or in any future canon, for good reasons. it's just outside the scope of the core narrative. the show already gave us the part of that reckoning that could fit into this story, on izzy's deathbed.

ok gonna post a quick version of something i already said on bsky, but

consider that the single most explicit thing we know about how djenks writes the ed-izzy relationship, the thing he's said over and over again with no ambiguity, is that ed sees izzy on a deep level as a father figure.

so let's say that you are a person who's had a long series of abusive father figures in your life. and the big unifying theme in your relationship with all those guys, the thing that tied them all together, was that whatever positive regard you got out of them was conditional on your performing masculinity in a particular way, being a version of yourself that you hated. "you're making my son soft" and "i serve blackbeard, not edward" and even "if you were ever good at anything, go and do that."

now imagine that one and only one of all those guys, in the end, finally took it all back and apologized for it and said "just be you" instead.

i think you would experience that as a moment of the exact kind of unconditional love you had always wanted and never ever gotten before from any of your evil dads. and i think you would come to see that brief moment as the most important thing about your relationship with that guy, because it's the thing that sets that relationship apart from all the others like it. and i think that moment would be so monumentally important to you that it would probably retroactively color all your memories of that relationship.

so what i'm saying is, yeah, for most of the years ed and izzy knew each other izzy's "love" for him was extremely conditional and that is, in fact, the main thing about it; but despite that there was one moment right at the end where it wasn't, and for ed, it makes sense that moment is the one that mattered.

Okay, finally caught up on the full VOD and here are some messy thoughts

So. UHHH. On a gut emotional level, I fucking hated that lmao. Whole chapter of my life finished with a bang and a whimper. Las Nevadas Labor Union is over, y'all. The boss just deny, defend, deposed himself. Holy shit.

On an intellectual, thematic level... I... can't really... argue with that? Like, we didn't actually expect a character that cc!Q explicitly said was inspired by Walter White to receive a happy ending or a functional relationship, did we? We were really high on our copium supply, good grief.

I could, and still might, write a whole meta about how c!Quackity has been passively suicidal with a foreshortened sense of future for a very long time. As far back as Doomsday, he didn't care if he lost his life, as long as he got to watch those who hurt him go down first. He declared so many times that he would die with his country. He was incessantly compared to c!Wilbur, both by other characters and by the narrative itself. He was fucking terrified of being betrayed again, but he always expected it, and moreover did nothing to prevent it. He told c!Foolish and c!Purpled outright that they would have every right to kill him for what he did to them. Didn't even consider making himself immortal with the revival book, instead focusing on making sure c!Dream would no longer have it. Didn't fight back when Slime killed him. Doubled down on his mistakes, and in hindsight rationalized everything as inevitable. Wrested back control the only way he knew how, following another's model. Las Nevadas was a broken institution, built by a man who had given up on fixing anything. His story was always about the self-perpetuating cycle of power and abuse.

This... isn't shocking, unfortunately. If anything, it was too obvious an ending.

I won't go too deep into the OOC implications, because they will make me sound... way more parasocial than I want to be. But I don't think it's controversial to say that the DSMP holds a lot of complicated, difficult, bittersweet memories for many of its former members. It does not surprise me at all that the ending cc!Q chose for his arc was an unhappy one. There are several possible conclusions I would have greatly preferred, but none could have realistically happened without Certain People returning. I wonder how aware the creator was of that, and how much those emotions bled into the writing.

And while I'm... still not certain how I feel about c!Quackity blowing himself up even after being given a second chance (I will always prefer "live and try to do better" à la Bojack Horseman for characters like this), I see the in-universe logic behind it, and everything up to that point was completely in character. What would that new legacy look like? I have no idea. I don't think he knows yet, either. But we can pick our favorite based on the day. Time travel is real, and canon is made up. Useless Heroes and Hori's spinelessness with setup.

It's no secret that Japan's heroes in MHA are extremely incompetent, I've pointed out their general disregard towards human life and surrounding infrastructure.

However what some of you might not know is that a majority of heroes in MHA are completely and utterly useless.

And I'm not just talking from a Doylist perspective either, Heroes in MHA are more of an obstacle than the villains they fight.

Take this panel for example:

Originally I was going to crop this to only include (ugh) Birdman, however on a second read I realized how asinine every single hero (not counting All Might) is.

First off the "clean up". I shouldn't need to explain what's wrong with this. The crowd posing a security risk, the minimal security. The fucking plastic bags!?

I mean really, what the hell can Backdraft achieve here, or Kanami or Mount Lady. The list goes on.

(That also ignores how these 4 imbeciles are getting paid for what a clean up crew or police force could do easily. Not to mention this whole incident veing their fault)

Anywho... We then see Death Arms and another "hero" yelling at Midoriya, who was also a victim of the Sludge Villain and actually bought All Might time. Whereas Bakugo failed like a panicked animal and worsened the situation.

It is here we see the first plot point: Heroes are hypocritical and biased towards those with flashy quirks.

They automatically downplay Midoriya while also neglecting to get him checked on by a paramedic.

Even Bakugo doesn't benefit as these so called Heroes swarm him like a vulture. Just so they can use him to boost their own popularity.

(and if I'm honestly speaking, if Birdman were somehow a high ranker. Bakugo would have fallen for it hook, line and sinker)

This subtly introduces a second idea: that Heroes are not as pure as they seem. Perhaps they can even be corrupt.

These two ideas, plotpoints, call them what you will. Do a good job at showing us the cracks in the mirage. Cracks that seemed to be widening come the Sports Festival.

So what happend?

I'm sure we're all familiar with the utter disappointment/disaster that was MHA's epilogue.

Regardless if you believe the initial final chapter to be canonical or the more recent 'improvement'. We can all agree that it bombed in regards to doing the above any justice.

The simple answer is that Hori (in my opinion) is a spineless hack, who can draw really good but for the love of god. Keep him out of the Writers room.

Hori seems to whine about how dissatisfied he is with MHA's direction towards darker themes or even complaining about characters he wrote into the story himself (see Tetsutesu x2.)

Hori lacks any guts when it comes to his own writing, preferring to laze-about in what's comfortable. The problem is he didn't write a comfortable story.

Corruption, Eugenics, Peer Abuse, Negligence and Human Trafficking. These are all things that MHA brings up but Hori refuses to touch on. Despite having wrote them into the world (and plot) himself.

Someone once commented under a post of mine that my W.I.P worked as a story because the events fit, rather than simply existing for shock value.

Now I cannot confirm whether or not the above were added to drive up stakes. However with how MHA ended up, I wouldn't be surprised if it was like the Big Three all over again. Hori adding something, nor knowing what to do with it and then desperately trying to smother it while introducing the "next big thing".

Ultimately, I find it humorous that someone so inspired by comic books and Star wars, is such a coward when it comes to pushing boundaries. Instead choosing to fall in line with what's trending, what the polls say, chasing after something that could never be obtained in the first place.

But hey look at the bright side, at least we have fan-works.

dragon prince season 7 refuses to be good and I'm so disappointed

i've been putting off finishing the season since it came out and i watched the first three episodes and absolutely hated it, but i finally decided to pull off the bandaid and wow was it so much more worse than i expected. like, i didn't really expect it to be good or anything, since everything has just been going downhill since season 4, but at the very least expected a proper conclusion, but nope, they couldn't even end the show in the finale.

this show just refuses to take the least logical path to the conclusion all the fucking time. like did there need to be so much subversion? follow through on your obvious foreshadowing. let callum be possessed by aaravos after he uses dark magic. that was set up all the way back in season 4. is he good? is he any different than as viren and claudia now, if he's willing to do the wrong thing for the greater good ("however dangerous, however vile")? hell, force rayla to reckon with that difficult choice. put her in the same situation she was in the pilot; is she willing to kill for the greater good, especially now when the stakes are so much higher and the victim is the love of her life?

let claudia kill terry and/or soren. that was bound to happen, she's far past the point of redemption now, she revived aaravos. stop tiptoeing around it. ("i'm still nice! i'm still me" what the fuck, no you're not. you made that decision ages ago, hell when you chose viren over soren all the way back in season 3). arguably, terry, as much as i love him, should have died all the way back in season 5, when viren was revived. it would have cemented claudia's conversion completed to aaravos if there was absolutely no one who loved her around anymore.

and for god's sake, don't try to make your main villain with absolutely no redeeming qualities sympathetic. don't give him a fucking daughter. not every villain is made to be redeemable, they can be just be evil! that's what i loved about aaravos. viren was morally grey from the start, but aaravos was always the dark voice whispering in his ear. he was conniving, manipulative, a force of pure evil! there was absolutely no reason to reduce him to this stupid thing that's so easy to defeat. why was it the dragons that killed him? why not the protagonists of the series instead of some side characters who haven't been in the story for multiple seasons?

like, there is no reason to constantly be adding new plot points? you can take a predictable solution. hell, it should be done in a final season. a story can still be interesting even if it's not the most twisty turvy thing in the world. it would have been so satisfying if the finale went exactly as expected: callum uses dark magic, gets possessed by aaravos and has to fight him out of his head while the other characters have to decide whether to hurt callum or risk aaravos escaping or whatever. we did not need the unicorns, nor the new archdragons, nor the fucking godforsaken sun elf plotline that never connected back to the main plot (and absolutely wasted amaya as a character). and we did not need evyrkind, nor bird harrow who never bothered to contact his sons, nor the seven fucking years. it was so easy to make a satisfying conclusion. why the fuck did the writers decide to take this route?

i don't know, i feel like i've put so much of my investment into this show for the past six years and somehow they manage to fumble it over and over again since season 4, and i keep telling myself that it's going to improve, that they're setting up something good, and they just don't, over and over for seasons. if you somehow enjoyed this season, please explain to me why. i want something good out of the time i spent.

So, my theory about the Bucktommy breakup (the tldr is: maybe they're fucking up around to find out):

Minear gets the go-ahead for Bi Buck but he knows the audience might not approve of that, on top of the usual issues with previous relationships (hard to write/sell to the audience). He wants to give the relationship a chance to get off the ground so he tries to avoid past mistakes with LIs etc, but also 'prepares for the worst' (initial run of 4 episodes).

Then they get whatever numbers that tell them the audience was fine (steady ratings? internal research?), they get good press, so they keep on going: contract extended; LFJ is on the 7.09 bts and the s7 thank you video, and it's him and OS paired up to promote the finale on Access Hollywood.

So now it's s8 prep time and Minear has this relationship that's going fine when they'd started it thinking it would probably have a close expiration date. Fandom/media wise, it's still all stuck on Bvddie (as far as they can see, I figure).

But there isn't an offscreen breakup.

As far as we've been told, going into s8 they were still unsure, and LFJ seemed more surprised about the timing than anything.

So.

It could be that they pushed things they couldn't wrap to s8a and this was one, but... at the end of s7 they added more Bucktommy and it was positive, so I don't think that's the case for this storyline.

My thinking is then, that since a breakup was always in the cards, they decided to go ahead with it now and the way they did it because, say...:

for plot reasons they want Buck to go through it

they can test audience/fan 'attachment' to the relationship via reactions to this

they don't have to settle now on exactly when they'd want LFJ in s8b (which he might have needed to know for his other projects)

gives them extra time before Buck is settled in a relationship (this could buy them like, a season)

they might be waiting to see if they're cancelled or renewed before making certain choices

Know what I mean? basically that they didn't have a plan and so they decided to go for what provided immediate drama as well as some info about the audience's feelings wrt to it.

[I hope I didn't make many mistakes with this. Anyway, Abby's breakup appears 3 times bc it had 'aftershocks']

You see how Natalia is an outlier, but the rest follow a similar pattern (the relationships served a purpose and ended when it was time to close arcs for the season). But Tommy... it could've ended offscreen or right before this hiatus, or before that timeskip or whatever that's supposedly coming and has them in different places. But it was there in 8.06 and they used the following eps before the hiatus to show Buck mourning the relationship...

Maybe, just maybe, they're testing the end similarly to how they tested their beginning.

I'm not saying this is absolutely right, or even that all these things mean something (or that it must mean this). Just that it's an option.

Okay, so for those of you who haven't heard of Transformers Earth Spark, it's basically a show where the cybertronian War is technically over and now cybertronians are trying to get used to the life on earth. But they are completely treated like they are animals. Well, near the end of the last episode of season 1 of Earth Spark they all decided to work together with the Decepticons to take down mandroid, the main antagonist of season 1. There was also two episodes where one of the Decepticons started to have a relationship with the Malto family. Like for example

See how these two GIFs are completely wholesome? Infact, the first season teaches that even though somebody could be on the opposite side of things that doesn't initially mean that they are a bad guy completely, just misunderstood.

It teaches that everyone can have a second chance if they really try but not everyone can really get that second chance.

And then season 2 comes around,

Now I haven't watched season 2 myself but I have watched one episode in it and that's it. remember that I said that the Decepticons finally decided to fight Mandroid thanks to Twitch and that some of the Terrans actually had some decent relationships with some of the Decepticons?

Well season two just completely THROWS ALL OF IT OUT OF THE FUCKING WINDOW!!!

When I watch season 2 I thought it was going to be all cool and hype and I thought everyone was just overreacting over season 2. NOPE! THEY HAD THE RIGHT TO BE UPSET! Because one episode in and I was immediately flashed banged with shock. Robby was explaining after 2 years of like saving cybertronians from Mandroid's destruction the quintus prime Stone (I don't remember what it's called) kind of shattered into like thousands of pieces across the globe. He then says that the Decepticons help them to retrieve them but then they decided to turn on them and get the shards for themselves. EVEN THOUGH THE FIRST SEASON SAID THAT NOT ALL DECEPTICONS ARE BAD!!

Like where did this even come from!? And why make them back into villains when we already saw the shot of them HELPING TWITCH AND HER FAM FROM KILLING ALL CYBERTRONIANS!? Like, what is the point of this!? If you're just going to make them bad guys anyway, why give the Terrans a chance to understand them and sympathize with the 'cons!? You had such a good new take on the Transformers yet you decided to throw away that said good take and just take it back to square one!

WHAT THE HELL HASBRO!?

And don't get me started with Bumblebee's relationship with Breakdown. You clearly set them up to be best buddies and then you just set that friendship arc on fire and just went on the 'Con vs 'Bot arc again. But the part that pisses me off the most is Starscream's abandon arc. Earthspark *clearly* wanted to make this Starscream as sympathetic as possible and this could have worked well. IF THEY DIDNT MAKE HIM THE MAIN VILLIAN IN SEASON 2!

And I guess prowl appearing in season 3 is kind of nice but it would have been better if he was like the villain instead of Starscream. If they were going to be good Decepticons then there has to be bad Autobots. But hey, Hasbro isnt keen on keeping promises are you Hasbro?

God, you had such a good idea and you just had to ruin it with season 2 and 3. I hope the rumors of Earthspark getting canceled are true thanks to this.

Kazuichi Souda -> Was a pussy about it until he got bullied into trying it, then yeah, he likes it. If you ask him though, he was never scared and he's always been doing it and he's great at it fuck you. Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu -> No. He "doesn't like sweaty shirtless people touching him" (< he's too short and is scared he'll get swallowed and stomped into the ground like paste). Peko Pekoyama -> Likes to stand on the walls of them and protect everyone else and watch. God forbid anyone even attempts to be an ass or pull her in while she's on watch. Mahiru Koizumi -> They make for some really cool photographs! If she can manage to stand still enough. Which most of the time, she can't, and she ends up getting really annoyed at everyone pushing her when she's trying to get a good shot so. No. Also gets super mad at men who are rude and overly aggressive to women in the pit, so its probably better to just keep her away from them. Hiyoko Saionji -> Only participates in female only pits, and then she loves them. Otherwise she hates them because sweaty topless men getting all over her (ew!). She's the type to stand in the pit then get annoyed when people bump into her (rude!). Akane Oowari -> She is crowdkilling. She is kicking and doing backflips in the middle waiting for the drop. She's screaming and pounding her fists and taunting on the biggest guy she can find in the crowd. She's wild. She is free. No one is safe. Nekomaru Nidai -> Kind of wishes he could join in, but it isn't a good idea because of his heart condition, so he watches from the side and helps by pushing people in and pulling them out when they've had too much. Loves helping people up to crowd surf. Definately has thrown Komaeda ontop of the crowd at one point to force him to crowd surf (< hilarious) Ibuki Mioda -> DUH Mikan Tsumiki -> NO. SHE'S SO SCARED. GET HER OUT OF THERE. SHE DOESN'T BELONG IN THERE. They really stress her out, but she likes being attentive to the people who come out of them to make sure they aren't injured.

Sonia Nevermind -> Children in Nosovelic practise moshing from the age of 7. The most feminine and graceful anyone's ever done it. It's actually kind of scary to watch. She comes out of even the most horrific pits with nothing more than a healthy glow and hardly a hair out of place. No one knows how she does it. Gundham Tanaka -> No. BUT!! Only because he can't because he'd kill everyone in there with his posioned flesh curse of course!!! Otherwise he'd be the best and most fearsome at it, obviously, and everyone would quake at the sight of him standing in the pit! Legends would sing of his moshing skills! Too bad! (he's standing at the back against a wall with ear protectors on where no one can touch him.)

Chapter 110 is 13 pages long welcome to hell!!! so in a lot of ways this is just more fuel for a theory that I've had for a few weeks now, that's only gotten stronger with each recent season 5 episode, which is that the last episode of the season is gonna end on 110, and that Asagiri/Harukawa and Bones have been collaborating to make this happen, specifically because it's a major turning point that would be the only good place to end the season on.

When we started getting especially long chapters again (like from 25-35ish pages, with the exception of 107.5, the last two being some of the longest we've ever had), at first I just assumed that Asagiri/Harukawa got freed up from some other obligations they'd been having to cause the extremely short/half chapters, like promotional stuff for the anime/Beast movie, or working on light novels. But then 109 happened, with the "supposed" death of Dazai, and heavy emphasis at the end on how literally everyone is at their lowest point right now, and I got to thinking. 11 episodes is a strangely specific number for an anime season -- why not 12, or 13, or even 10, like you'd usually see? Why have we gotten suddenly gotten two 35 page chapters out of nowhere, that's almost unheard of at this point? They're both beautiful chapters, don't get me wrong (as always), and maybe A/H simply just didn't want to cut them in halves because they felt like the full emotional impact wouldn't hit/that there were no good cutoff points in them, but you can't deny that it's surprising, after all the shorter chapters we've been getting. Why has the anime been going at such insanely breakneck pacing for the most part ever since around the Sunday Tragedy chapters, even more so than it has in the past? So much so that it feels dangerously close to overtaking the manga?

Well, maybe, just maybe, it's because..... Asagiri decided a long time ago that whatever happens in 110 is the only point that feels "season finale"-worthy enough, in an arc that still isn't anywhere close to being completely wrapped up, and so both the manga and the anime have been specifically coordinated to reach that part within 2 and a half weeks of each other?

I've seen a lot of people now think season 5 will end with 109, and as much as my sadistic side would find that hilarious, I honestly don't think they'd do that and realistically don't want it to happen; it'd be so cruel to cliffhanger the anime for years like that, and just doesn't feel like a season cliffhanger BSD would do, a series that is ultimately hopeful and uplifting. Seasons 2 and 3 had a positive, conclusive ending; the only reasons seasons 1 and 4 didn't was because they're technically not really full seasons of their own, and are more like the first cour of another "season" that also came out that same year (seasons 1 and 2 both aired in 2016, so they're more like one big season, and seasons 4 and 5 have both aired this year, so they're also more like one big season, again taking into account how episodes 12 and 50 are not satisfying finales like episodes 24, 37, and hypothetically, 61, are). I really can't see season 5 ending with Dazai and Fukuzawa's supposed deaths, Sigma being unconscious and maybe close to death, Atsushi being vulnerable and limbless again, everyone we love still vampires, and the entire world being basically doomed; that's just too depressing and not like BSD at all. However, having said that, if it doesn't end there, there really isn't any good place to end the season before that, either, that feels in any way satisfying or like a finale at all. And so, to me, that only leaves after 109: chapter 110.

I think things are really gonna turn around next chapter. Like I said, everyone is at their lowest point right now, it cannot possibly get any worse, the framing of Dazai, Fukuzawa, and sskk at the end of 109 is telling us that; this is the time for the heroes to finally start winning again, with Aya being so close to pulling out the sword, and for all the thematic reasons other people have talked about to death that I don't need to go into here again. This upcoming chapter being so short again makes a part of me wary of 110 being "the one", so to speak, I won't lie, but at the same time, it's very possible that it needs to be that short because that's all the final episode of the season will be able to reasonably fit in, since it's already gonna be VERY close if they do make it all the way to 109. And at the end of the day, I don't doubt at all that Asagiri and Harukawa can make these the most monumental and game-changing mere 13 pages ever if they wanted to; a chapter does not at all need to be extremely long in order to be an important and impactful one, even if short ones we've gotten in the past haven't felt the most important.

An additional thought I've had, though this is much more crack territory than all this already is, is that since we know from Anime Expo that a Stormbringer movie at some point is highly likely (judging from Asagiri's reaction when someone brought it up), it's possible that chapter 110 and thus the final episode will involve the long-anticipated return of Verlaine and/or Adam, or at least some other major reference to Stormbringer, that would naturally and smoothly lead into a Stormbringer movie to explain things to people who haven't read the novel. It would make a lot of sense, especially since the s4 OP has the Old World sign behind Chuuya, which might be a hint that this has been in the works ever since seasons 4/5 were first in planning with Asagiri. We also know that Dazai and Chuuya's voice actors apparently struggled to record their lines together this season, which probably relates to 101 and possibly 109, but it could be 110 too.... I could be very wrong, as I'm no expert on this kind of thing, but I kinda doubt they would bring Chuuya's actor in for just the vampire growls, and Asagiri placing heavy emphasis on Chuuya's importance this season in that one interview gives me the impression that he's talking about much more than just 101/109. But that's the least solid evidence I have, that's just mostly based on vibes I get.

So basically, I think a lot of factors -- the unusual episode count, how close the anime is to catching up to the manga with three whole episodes left, the seemingly arbitrary recent chapter lengths, and the climactic events of 109 -- can tell us that 110 might be a very, VERY big deal. Again, there's of course no way this arc is anywhere near close to being finished, with so much left to address and resolve, but since it is currently incomplete in the manga, unlike the previously adapted arcs, if the anime was going to adapt it at all, they'd have to find a place that feels satisfying enough to end this season, knowing there won't be more anime for a long time after this, and so I think they specifically planned for that, from both Bones' and A/H's sides. 10 episodes might not have been enough to reach that point, but 12 or 13 might have been too many it wouldn't have been if Bones actually decided to slow down and let the story breathe the way it needs to, but this post isn't meant to criticize the anime, so maybe 11 was just right. And maybe Asagiri and Harukawa specifically pushed to make recent chapters longer than usual, in order to make sure that the manga reached the story content in 110 the monthly release right before season 5 was to end.

Is this just copium? Absolutely. Am I going to look like an absolute clown in two days when this post ages like milk? Probably. But the evidence is There, so let me just enjoy my delusions until Sunday, okay 🥂🫡
