Pinoy food WIN.
Fresh/frozen-by-me jackfruit stewed in homemade sauce over rice (probably loosely qualifies as adobo but I was aiming more for bbq taste - it's sweet-tangy-savoury-mild heat and holy shit that caramelization), and then ube halaya from store-bought frozen plain ube (I've only made it from powdered before so this is REALLY GOOD!)
#that jackfruit was a motherfucker to clean when i bought it a while back#so i defrosted a big baggie of it and ill prob be eating that for the rest of this week#i picked out some of the fruitier pieces to try and make another filipino dessert later but im still getting big bites of fruit in this food#the fruit parts are MELTING in my mouth holy shit#tbh the pulpy parts also got stewed down to a very edible texture too#only thing i wish i did was homemake tamarind paste but i do NOT have the energy to do all of that in one day#family was hogging the kitchen before me so i had to go full steam ahead w this bc i was hungyyy#this food is disappearing before my eyes rn holy shit where did it go#food#food porn#filipino food#jackfruit#ube halaya#ube#Cori.exe#Image.exe#tbh i prob wont get to eat the ube tonight but i had a couple big spatula bites with what i couldnt pour into the serving dish#like holy shit tho the quality compared with powdered is incomparable. fresh wins.#hopefully its just as good when its cold
