my baby | l.n.
synopsis: in which you bring your son to his daddyâs first ever race
a/n: based on this request!! i changed things up a little and only made it fluffy, hope you like it!!
my masterlist
Ever since your son was born, you and Lando had had multiple talks regarding exposing him to the world and bringing him to the paddock.
He was still so little, being only a few months old, so there was a lot of discussion between the two of you about when would be a good time to finally introduce your son to that part of Landoâs life.
You debated a lot about firstly which race would be the best one for him to attend, finally settling on Silverstone. It was a very special race for the both of you, it was Landoâs favorite race weekend, his whole family would be coming and would be able to eagerly help, should any situations arise during the weekend, you were close to your UK home.
It was honestly the best decision in that aspect.
McLaren had been so kind as to send you some little T-shirts with Landoâs name and number on the back, some headphones so you could protect Noahâs ears. He was all ready to go, all clad in his papaya shirt and little cap.
However, as much as Lando had been looking forward to finally having the both of you in the paddock since Noahâs birth, he was suddenly feeling more anxious as youâre about to leave the house and go to the track.
You noticed the frown he had on his face and how deep in thought he seemed to be, walking over to him with Noah right on your hip, sucking on his pacifier in silence.
âWhatâs wrong? Are you okay?â you asked him, putting a hand on his shoulder and rubbing it affectionately.
âYou agree this is a good idea, right? Weâre not rushing him into this, itâs completely okay and safe to bring him with usâ he asked, looking at you with worried eyes.
Looking at him so desperate for reassurance, you remember your first days as a new mom, worrying about every single thing that Noah would do, what you should do with him and what you shouldnât, calling your mother and Landoâs mother every half an hour with another question.
Itâs normal for new parents to be anxious, and Lando was now feeling the protectiveness that came with having a baby of your own and bringing him out into the world.
âBaby, weâve talked about this. We have it all figured out. Your family is going to be there if anything does happen, we have your whole team there who are more than eager to help with anything. Weâll be fine, this little guy will have the time of his lifeâ you said, smiling at the quiet boy in your arms and bouncing him in your arms, chuckling alongside Noah as he started to giggle and wave his arms in the air.
Lando smiled, looking at Noah like he was the center of his universe, like nothing could ever measure up to how much love he had for his son.
He was ready, so there was no reason why Lando shouldnât be ready. After all, he had you by his side.
He didnât need anything else if he had you.
âAlright, letâs get going thenâ he declared, sitting up and taking Noahâs bag from you, determined to carry everything to the car by himself.
You chuckled, shaking your head as you adjusted little Noah on your hip.
âLetâs go and bring daddy some good luck, shall we?â you cooed at Noah, admiring his little smile and clap when he heard the word âdaddyâ in a sentence.
Such a daddyâs boy.
âĄâĄâĄâĄâĄ
âDo you want me to turn the car around and just take you guys home? Iâm sure nobody would mindâ Lando said as soon as he parked the car in his designated spot.
You looked at him confused.
âWhy? Did something happen?â you asked, keeping an eye on Noah who was currently too busy playing with his feet to pay attention to the two of you.
Lando sighed, resting his head against the seat and closing his eyes.
âI just think weâre rushing into it. Heâs still young and Iâm worried that something could happen to him while Iâm in the carâ he confessed, and you let out a knowing sigh.
âI know youâre stressed out and worried, but you have nothing to worry about. Iâm going to be with him the entire time and your entire family is going to be with me. He literally canât be more taken care ofâ you said, joking a little at the end to help him breathe a little.
Lando smiled, chuckling a little before twisting around to look at you in the backseat.
His eyes naturally gravitated towards Noah, who was happily playing with his McLaren teddy bear the team had gifted Lando when Noah was born.
âSometimes I wish we could keep him away from all of this for the rest of his lifeâ he said, his eyes focused on his son.
"I know, but right now, you don't have to worry about him. You know I won't let him out of my sight" you said, making Lando smile at the thought of you going all mama bear on your son.
"Alright then, off we go" Lando unbuckled his seatbelt, exiting the car and opening your door for you.
He made quick work to grab the diaper bag and all of his essentials while you lifted Noah up from his car seat and settled him on your hip, cooing at the smiley little boy.
"Ready?" Lando asked as he came to stand next to you, putting his arm on the small of your back and leaning down to press a kiss on Noah's head.
"Are you ready to see dada race?" you cooed at Noah, tickling his tummy lightly, which prompted him to burst into giggles.
âMy lucky charmsâ Lando whispered, looking at the two of you with so much love.
He truly couldnât have asked for anything better in his life. The trophies, the wins, the losses, they didnât compare to this. To you, to your son, nothing could ever compete with how much Lando cared for his family.
As you started walking towards the paddock entrance, your passes clutched in Landoâs hand, you kept Noah close to you, trying to shield his face from the cameras as best as you could.
You softly maneuvered his head so his face was buried into the crook of your neck, which Noah immediately complied with because he loved it when you held him close.
âIâll do my best to hold them offâ Lando whispered as he scanned your passes and already noticed the hoard of paparazzis that were waiting for him to arrive.
You nodded, smiling politely at the cameramen as Lando quickly walked with you towards the McLaren hospitality.
Clicks and flashes could be heard all around you, every single one trying to get a glimpse of your baby boy, but Lando was having none of it.
âLando! Over here!â
âIs that your son?â
âCan we see him? Just a pictureâ
Every single word fell on deaf ears as Lando continued to lead the three of you away from them, thankful when the shouts ceased and there was nobody around you anymore.
âThey sure know how to try and get what they wantâ you said, letting out a big breath that you hadnât realized you had been holding in.
âItâs an invasion of privacy, they should have some respect, especially when they can see Iâm with my familyâ he grumbled, his jaw muscles clenched.
You slowed down your walk until you came to a halt, resting your hand against his cheek.
âHey, weâre okay. Calm down, weâre both fine, okay?â you said, waiting for an answer as Noah started squirming in your arms.
âYeah, Iâm goodâ Lando replied after finally feeling himself calm down a tad, resuming your walk towards the hospitality.
When you arrived and entered the building, the first thing that you saw was Landoâs family eagerly chatting amongst themselves, clearly waiting for the 3 of you to finally arrive.
You didnât even get to think about anything before Noah was taken from your arms by Landoâs sister, Flo, cooing at him and beaming at the smiley boy.
There was nothing more pure and warming than seeing the bond between Landoâs family and your son. He was also the first grandchild on your side of the family, so that little boy was as spoiled as one could be.
âHow are you doing, dear?â Cisca snapped you out of your thoughts as she came to stand next to you, Lando having gone to his driverâs room to unpack his things.
âIâm okay, a little tired from the jet-lag, but doing alright. A little nervous to have Noah here with me, but you all being here puts mine and Landoâs mind more at easeâ you said, giving your mother-in-law a side hug.
âWas he terrible when you were talking about coming with Noah?â she asked, smiling knowingly.
You laughed, shaking your head affectionately at how well she knew Lando.
âHe freaked out about 4 times before we even got out of the carâ you said, making the woman laugh.
Lando emerged into the room again, immediately frowning once he saw that Noah was still not back in your arms.
Both you and Cisca watched as his eyes searched the entire room for him, finally settling on the boy happily babbling to his auntie Flo, Lando immediately going over to them.
And as you all sat there with each other, both you and Lando realized what a great support system you had and what a perfect family you have built together.
His win, of course, only solidifying his saying that you were both âhis lucky charmsâ.

First, know that statements in my above reblog such as 'Clearly women don't care about them.' were rhetorical examples of the things that a young man influenced by conservative ideas might think, and so are not representative of how I think we should discuss the modern sex dynamic. This talk about men, women, and the dynamics between the two often times devolves into "Men (should do) this, women (should do) that, it's men's/women's fault" as if that's not a deluded way of talking about a society-scale problem. If a demographic underperforms in a sector, the sensible approach is to analyze that sector, determine how what may be contributing to the performance differential, then figure the best social change to restructure that sector to be more fair. It can be tempting to want to assign blame, but blame does not exist on this scale. No individual is solely accountable. The idea of holding a demographic accountable (blaming women/men at large) is just absurd. We cannot assign responsibility to a sex to solve a problemâmen must participate in women's issues and vice versa. We need each other's efforts and votes.
So thinking about how the education system disadvantages men, you say that men generally hold the positions of power responsible for the structure of the education system, but that is not necessarily true. Women have always represented a greater proportion of teachers (at least since ~1890), but for nearly 8 years now have represented over half of public school principals (no data found for other administration staff). I can't find an official statement about the split in the U.S Department of Education, but independent sources estimate that over half of its employees are women. Women representing a larger proportion of teachers and staff likely accounts for the underperformance of boys in school, as students tend to do better under a teacher of the same sexâit might be tempting to say that means more men should go into education and so it is 'Men's fault', but as stated in my first paragraph such a thought is delusional. Men and women are not distinct factions.
I didn't say that the right wing is the fault of women. I said that the significant amount of vitriol towards men has had a role to play in pushing young men away from leftist politics, and that the pattern of overt hatred towards men in leftist spaces dissuades men who witness it from participating, but I didn't assign that to women. I assigned it to misandrists. It just happens that most misandrists are women.
We can absolutely fault sexist women who are hostile to men only because they're men. We must fault sexist people. You would ask the same of me, who should fault men who are remorseless about how they hurt the women in their lives. You said it yourself, 'someone who will get hate spewed at them, to try and reach out is a lot to ask.' You can't expect men to participate in progressive discussion if that discussion is accepting of open hostility toward them on the basis of their sex.
I'd like to challenge some of the ideas you hold about the ways you think that society advantages men. The gender pay gap is very coarse data, and often used in ways that reflect a poor understanding of what it actually represents. That women have to earn a greater degree to receive the same pay from the same job comes from a misinterpretation of the Department of Labor's data. The Department of Labor's data does not consider position, only sex and education level. I won't say that a pay gap for the same job doesn't existâI simply don't have the confidence to sayâbut the reality that men on average value income more than women in choosing a career likely contributes to what the data actually representsâa reflection of pay differentials between the fields of careers that men and women are respectively more likely to pursue. This still is sexistâit has roots in the devaluing of 'women's work'âbut if you pursue a particular career, the difference between your pay and the pay of your male peers will be much less than the gender pay gap indicates. That's assuming it exists at all; some places women out-earn men by the same metrics. It's a good point you make about women suffering greater loss of earnings with children, but in the cases where having childrenâand more so taking upon themselves the greater burden of child-rearing within their relationshipsâwas a choice, I have a hard time rationalizing this as unfair to women who willingly made that choice. In the cases where children aren't a choice, you're right.
Men are not over-represented in higher education. You give that there are some isolated cases where they are, sure; those are exceptions. In the larger picture women are representing a greater percentage of college graduates each year, and have outpaced men in this regard for the last four decades.
Much of what you hear about the ways women are victimized are played up by people who want to be victims because they're drunk on justifying their hate. This isn't for some radical take like 'sexism is fake', just a reminder that solving real problems requires being rooted in reality. All the more reason to block the detached, chronically-online radfems you see. I wish I'd realized I was replying to one, but then I suppose wouldn't have had this dialogue with you. Silver lining.
I couldn't have said it better myself.

you stood adjusting your dress as excited chatter filled the room. the party was now in full swing and oscar had still not shown up. sure you had your doubts that he wouldn't but you had known oscar all your life, he wouldn't do that to you.
as if on cue the front door swings open and none other than the man himself steps inside before scanning the room. it's not long before his eyes latch onto yours and it feels as though your heart stops. you can't remember the last time you had seen him and the last time you weren't having an argument over something. oscar smiles and your heart begins to thump in your chest as you see him making his way over to you.
"hey" a familair voice beckons your attention.
you look up at him and smile when you notice that he wore the costume." nice costume" you say giggling as you tuck your hair behind your ear.
"oh yeah my best friend got it for me"
you nod smiling back at him. "so how have you been?"
you roll your eyes before drawing your attention back to him. "is this your subtle way of asking if me and lando are still together"
"i don't care about that" he blatantly lies, scrunching his nose.
"well if you must know we are taking a break right now he said he was too busy for a serious relationship".
oscar scoffs. "what an asshole".
"he's your bestfriend" you say confusingly as you believed that lando and oscar were close.
"yeah but so are you".
your heart warms when you hear that and you feel as though in that moment your friendship has been mended through unspoken words. yet you still wished that he would notice, notice how obviously and madly in love with him you are. you watched as he looked into the distance and there you sat admiring something from afar and out of reach.

So this might sound weird, but here goes. My girlfriend and I (both 23) love visiting new places, and sheâs a big animal lover. She found this adorable cat cafĂ© nearby and has been talking about going for weeks. I wasnât as excited but figured itâd be fun to surprise her, so I booked us a spot and thought Iâd try to make it extra special.
Hereâs the thing: I wanted to be "that guy" who shows up with a bag of cat treats so all the cats would flock to us. It sounds ridiculous, but my goal was to make her day. When we got there, I pulled out the treats and instantly had a few catsâ attention. My girlfriend laughed, but within a few minutes, an employee came over, looking annoyed, and told me I couldn't give the cats treats from outside.
Apparently, they have specific diets or something, and I was "interfering." I apologized, put the treats away, and thought that was the end of it. But soon after, another employee came up, saying we were being "disruptive" because all the cats were lingering around us, and they even hinted we might need to leave if it didnât stop. I hadnât meant to cause a scene and told them it wasnât a big dealâweâd stop and just hang out like everyone else. But by this point, my girlfriend was pretty embarrassed, and it killed the vibe of our day.
We left a bit earlier than planned, and now my girlfriend thinks it was a bit of a jerk move, even though she appreciated the effort. I didnât mean to upset anyone or break the rules, just thought itâd be fun to make the cats a bit more social. But now Iâm wondering if I messed up by not sticking to the cafĂ©âs way of doing things.
So, AITAH?
Edit: Iâve learned my lesson. I will never underestimate the dietary regulations of a cat cafĂ© ever again.
So, I (24M) have this bad habit of forgetting whatâs in my fridge. A while ago, I bought some chicken, but I totally forgot about it, and it just sat there for months. I was cleaning out my fridge the other day and found the chicken at the back, and it still looked fine to meâdidnât smell bad, didnât look weirdâso I thought, "Why not? Itâs still good."
I cooked it up, had a nice meal, and didnât think much of it. But then, later that night, I told my mom about it (thinking she'd just laugh), and she completely freaked out. She went on this whole rant about food safety, salmonella, and how I couldâve poisoned myself. I was just like, "It tasted fine, mom, calm down."
She kept texting me all night asking if I felt okay, if I was getting any stomach pains, and even called a few of my friends to check in on me. Honestly, Iâm fineânothing happened, and I feel perfectly normal.
But now sheâs upset with me, saying Iâm being careless and that I should never eat food that old, even if it seems fine. I just didnât think it would be that big of a deal. I mean, people eat leftovers all the time, right? It wasnât even that old.
So, AITAH for eating chicken thatâs been in my fridge for 9 months and making my mom worry unnecessarily?
Edit: Just to clarify, I didnât intentionally keep it for 9 months. I honestly just forgot about it in the back of the fridge. And no, Iâm not sick. Everythingâs fine. I promise I wonât be eating anything old again anytime soon!
I (27M) have a dog, Leo, whoâs basically my best friend. Heâs super friendly and well-behaved, and honestly, I just feel better when heâs around. I bring him everywhere I go â to cafes, parks, and friend gatherings. You name it, Leoâs there. Most people are fine with it because heâs adorable and loves everyone.
Recently, though, my friends have started making comments about it. Last weekend, we met up at this small, cozy cafĂ© for brunch, and I brought Leo along. He just curled up next to my chair and didnât bother anyone. But my friend Paul pulled me aside afterward and said it was kind of annoying that I kept bringing Leo without asking. He said not everyone wants a dog around all the time, and itâs âgetting old.â
I donât understand where this is coming from, especially since Leoâs never caused any problems. I figured since no one had said anything before, they were fine with it. Plus, Iâm always careful to keep him out of peopleâs way, and heâs honestly better behaved than most dogs I know. I feel like theyâre making a big deal out of nothing, but now Iâm wondering if maybe I should have checked with everyone first.
So, AITAH for always bringing my dog? Should I have asked before assuming everyone was okay with it?
Edit: Just for context, Leoâs a small dog â not the type to jump on people or bark a lot. He just sits quietly and naps most of the time. Also, Iâve always cleaned up after him when necessary, so he hasnât left any âsouvenirsâ for anyone to deal with.
So, I (39M) have this friend, Nico (also 39M), and weâve been friends since we were kids. Weâre both super competitive by nature, and we tend to push each other a lot. Whether itâs video games, sports, or even something like mini-golf, everything somehow turns into a competition between us. Itâs mostly just for fun⊠until recently.
A few weeks ago, we were at a friendâs birthday party, and they had one of those racing setups in the living room. Of course, Nico and I immediately challenged each other, and we both got really into it. I mean, I mightâve been trash-talking a bit (okay, maybe a lot), but we were both laughing, so I didnât think it was a big deal.
Well, I ended up beating him by a fraction of a second, and I mightâve celebrated a bit too enthusiasticallyâthink victory lap around the living room, calling him out in front of everyone, the whole deal. After that, Nico got pretty quiet and didnât talk to me much for the rest of the night. Later, a mutual friend told me that Nico felt like I was ârubbing it in,â and it embarrassed him.
Now I feel bad. I honestly thought we were just having fun and didnât realize heâd take it so personally. I tried to apologize, but he just brushed it off and hasnât really been himself around me since.
So⊠AITAH for taking things a bit too far with my friend, or was it all just part of the usual friendly rivalry?
Edit: Weâve always had this kind of back-and-forth, so Iâm not sure why this time it got to him. Just thought Iâd get some outside perspective before I bring it up with him again.
Okay, I know this sounds insane, but hear me out. I (30M) love making pancakes, and Iâm pretty proud of my recipe. Itâs become sort of a tradition to make them for my family when I visit my parents. Theyâre always really nice about it and say they love them, but... Iâm starting to think theyâve just been too polite.
A few weeks ago, I was at my parentsâ house and decided to whip up a big batch of pancakes for breakfast. My mom and dad both had seconds, and I thought it was a win. But later that night, my mom started having really bad stomach pains. We took her to the hospital, and she ended up needing surgery for appendicitis. It was a scary experience, but thankfully, sheâs okay now.
Hereâs where it gets weirder. Just a few days after my mom came home from the hospital, my dad started having the same symptoms. At first, we joked that it was sympathy pains, but he ended up in the ER too, with the exact same issueâappendicitis.
Now my whole family is convinced it was my pancakes. I know logically that my cooking canât cause appendicitis, but I canât help but feel responsible because they both got sick right after eating my breakfast. My parents keep joking that theyâre never eating my pancakes again, and my siblings have been giving me a hard time about it, saying Iâm banned from the kitchen.
So, AITAH for giving both my parents appendicitis with my cooking, or am I just an unlucky chef?
Edit: Just to clarify, I donât actually think I gave them appendicitis, but the timing is very suspicious, and now my parents are scared of my pancakes. I might need a new family recipe...
So, I (27M) have two cats (Jimmy & Sassy), and theyâre pretty much my babies. Theyâre super affectionate with me but can be a bit picky about who they like. My dad (52M), on the other hand, isnât exactly a "cat person." Heâs more of the âwhy do you have pets that donât do anything useful?â type, but he still visits often and tolerates them because he knows theyâre important to me.
The other day, my dad came over, and as usual, my cats were lounging on the couch. He decided to sit down and give them a little nudge to move over, but instead of just shuffling away, one of my cats (Jimmy) swiped at his face. It wasnât a deep scratch, but it was enough to leave a red mark and get my dad pretty annoyed. I couldnât help but laugh a bit because he was acting all grumpy about it, muttering something about "those spoiled cats."
He got even more annoyed when he saw me laughing and said I should discipline my cats better and not let them scratch people. I tried explaining that cats are territorial and react like that when theyâre suddenly pushed, especially by someone theyâre not used to. I offered him a band-aid, but he refused and ended up leaving earlier than planned.
Now my mom is telling me I shouldâve been more sympathetic and that I shouldâve scolded my cat instead of laughing. But honestly, I feel like it was just a normal cat reaction, and my dad knows how they can be. So now Iâm wondering, AITAH for laughing when my cat scratched my dadâs face instead of taking it more seriously?
Edit: Just to clarify, my cats donât usually attack people. Theyâre very cuddly with me and my friends, but my dadâs not around them enough for them to be comfortable. Iâll definitely make sure he approaches them differently next time... if he ever wants to come back!
So, this might sound a bit weird, but hear me out. I (26M) work at this company, and my boss, "Toto" (52M), and I have a really good relationship. We get along great, share a lot of common interests, and heâs been a bit of a mentor to me. We hang out outside of work sometimes, and every now and then, Iâll stay over at his place after we have dinner or watch a game, just because itâs more convenient.
Recently, my friends found out about this and started making fun of me, calling it âsleepoversâ with my boss. I laughed it off at first, but theyâve started saying itâs kind of weird and unprofessional to be that close with your boss. Theyâre acting like Iâm trying to suck up or get some kind of special treatment, but thatâs honestly not the case. I just enjoy his company, and we have a good time hanging out.
The thing is, I never really mentioned it to my friends before because it just didnât seem like a big deal. I figured if I told them, theyâd blow it out of proportion (which is exactly whatâs happening now). But now theyâre saying itâs odd that I didnât bring it up sooner and that itâs kind of strange to be having âsleepoversâ with someone whoâs technically in charge of me at work.
So, AITAH for not telling my friends that I sometimes crash at my bossâs place, or are they just overreacting?
Edit: For context, itâs not like Iâm staying there every weekend or anything. Itâs maybe once a month if weâre having a late night and itâs easier than going all the way back to my place. Plus, heâs got a massive guest room, so itâs not like Iâm sleeping on the couch or something. Itâs just a practical arrangement
Okay, so I (21M) have a bit of a problem, and Iâm honestly not sure if itâs even a problem or just something I canât control. Iâve noticed lately that whenever Iâm doing interviews or talking to reporters, I end up coming off as flirting with them, even though Iâm not trying to at all.
Iâm naturally a friendly person, and I like to joke around and be engaging. But Iâve had a few reporters (and even some photographers) tell me after interviews that Iâve been âcharmingâ or âtoo smoothâ with them. Some of them even hinted that I was âleading them on.â The thing is, I donât even notice it happening. I just talk to them like I would anyone else, but apparently, Iâm making it seem like Iâm flirtingâwithout even trying!
One reporter even gave me her number after an interview, and when I asked if she was just being friendly, she said, âYou were a little more than friendly.â I was totally confused because I thought we were just having a good conversation about racing. Now Iâm worried that Iâm giving the wrong impression to people without meaning to, and I donât want to hurt anyoneâs feelings or make things uncomfortable.
So, AITAH for accidentally flirting with reporters and leading them on when I really donât mean to? Should I tone down my "natural charm"?
Edit: Just to clarify, Iâm not trying to flirt with anyone, reporter or not. Iâm just being myself, but it seems like itâs coming off differently than I intended. Itâs a bit awkward now, and Iâm wondering if I should change how I interact in interviews.

Wake up call
pt. 1
a/n: I'm not going to follow the series episode by episode, as I already mentioned. This story will focus primarily on the three witches' story, so I'll probably jump forward and back in time at my own discretion from now on. If you're curious about something in particular, feel free to tell me in the comments. Would you prefer that I go back or forward from now on? (also, sorry for eventual typos or mistakes).
pt. 2
Agatha looked as surprised as you for a moment. The boy was on his knees, squirming uncomfortably at the rope around his wrists and ankles. He said something, his voice sounded muffled through the duct tape.
âOh, uhm.. well, I may have accidentally kidnapped him.âÂ
You blinked in disbelief, âHow can you accidentally kidnap someone?â
The kid muttered something else you couldnât quite comprehend. You thought it was his way to agree with you, so you grinned, whereas Agatha groaned in annoyance. As the boy persisted, you realized what he really wanted from you.Â
âOhââ, you mouthed a quick apology, lips stretching in an awkward smile as you took the tape off his mouth with a quick puck. He winced, but then muttered a âthanksâ to you. Had he been locked in there the whole night? Instead of that, you asked a different question, âyou alright?â, twirling your finger, you made him turn around to untie the rope around his wrists and ankles.Â
He sighed and gave you a grateful smile once free, âmuch better.â
Your lips pressed into a thin line, not really sure about what else was to say, despite having tons of questions. There couldnât be a moment worse than this to have to deal with a kid.Â
âAgatha, love, care to explain?âÂ
Your lover paid no attention, or rather she feigned to be distracted doing practically nothing more than walking up and down the house, as she mentally freaked out due to the last events.Â
âThereâs nothing to explainââ, she waved dismissively, âFor all I care he can keep the house.âÂ
The boy frowned and quite frankly so did you. You walked up to her, confusion written all over your features, âAgatha, what in heaven are you talking about?âÂ
The boy followed behind in silence.
When she suddenly spun around, Agatha was so close, you almost stumbled backwards. âDid you listen to Rioâs words or not?â There was a hint of frustration in her tone, quite relatable in fact, and yet...
Your head lolled to the side, âso your plan is to leave?â
âGlad youâre catching up," she grinned cheekily.Â
With no magic at her disposal, she had no intention of facing the Salem Seven, and even less letting you anywhere near them to save her life. So running was the best and only option she could think of at the moment; that hopefully would give her enough time to figure out a way to restore her magic and be a witch again.
You ran a hand through your hair, eyes glancing only briefly over the boy, who gave you a tight smile in return. A part of you wondered what he was doing still there. Didn't he have places to be, like school or whatever?Â
Before Agatha could walk from you again, you reached out to grab her wrist, âSo, this is what we will do,â you started, silently enjoying the whiny sound slipping from her lips, âwe sit down, talk it out like mature adults, and youââ pointing a finger at the boy, âyouâre gonna tell me why you broke into our house in the first place.â
âUhm.. yeah, I..â
âWe donât have time for this!â Agatha exclaimed, âNeed I remind you thereâs a price on our heads?âÂ
A playful smirk tugged at your lips and unable to resist teasing her, you quipped, âtechnically itâs on yours. I only happen to be in your shit as per usual.âÂ
The boy let out a quiet chuckle, that you were about to reciprocate hadn't it been for Agathaâs hand flapping at the nape of your neck, âOof!" you whined.Â
Amusement glimmered in her eyes, âYou had it coming,â she retorted. Then she glanced over the boy, with a grimace. âNot to be rude or anything, but weâve got a lot on our plate so if you could justââ She pointed to where the front door used to be, her confidence dimming slightly, âthis house is a complete disaster.â
She looked so annoyed right now, tired and scared even, but the latter she would never admit. Completely forgetting about the boy, you focused on Agatha and placed a hand over the small of her back, âitâs not so badâŠâ you trailed off, resting your chin on her shoulder. She knew you weren't only referring to the conditions of the house. Her eyes fell shut for a moment, her features relaxed when you started stroking her skin, lips barely brushing against a soft spot behind her ear, âwe have an excuse to redecorate now.â
Despite everything, Agatha let out a small chuckle. She turned around and draped an arm around your waist. With everything that happened in such a short time, she hadnât given herself a moment to truly cherish the fact that you were backâthe real you. Sure, even without your memories, you stood by Agathaâs side all those years, but having you here now, like in the old days, felt different. It was different. Her eyes darted from your face to your collarbone, nose scrunching up at the sight of the nasty bluish bruiseâ a reminder of Rioâs hands on you. Her hand glided up to your face, tracing your jawline before slowly moving down to your collarbone, fingers barely grazing your skin, mindful that it was still tender and possibly sore.Â
âAre youâ?âÂ
Your eyes softened at the hesitation in her voice, âyou shouldnât worry about that.â
âI always worry about what matters," she argued back.Â
"Sappy," you teased.
With an eye roll, she smirked, "brat."
When her eyes darted towards the boy once again, she let out an incredulous scoff, âyou better have a darn good reason to still be dangling here.âÂ
Color drained from his face. Quite frankly, Agatha could be intimidating when she tried. Even when she didn't. âI-I do!â He cleared his throat. âI want to walk the Witches' Road. Itâs the only reason why I broke in here really andââ he was talking so fast, for a moment you thought your mind had tricked you. There was no way he said the words âwitchesâ and âroadâ in the same sentence.Â
Agatha's eyes snapped wide open, âwhatâs that you say?â
âThe Witchesâ Road,â he repeated, slower and firmly. It hit you hard. You couldn't help it. âI want you to take me there,â his eyes softened and so did his voice as he added, âplease.â
Agatha tried to meet your eyes then, but you had your gaze dropped to the floor.Â
âThe Witchesâ Road doesnât exist.â
âYouâre lying,â he argued.Â
Agatha scoffed bitterly, âam I?â, voice rising in exasperation.Â
When you slowly lifted your chin towards the boy, you squint your eyes so much as if you were troubled by a sudden headache, âYouâre asking for a death wish here.âÂ
Agatha agreed, âquite literally.âÂ
The boy looked crestfallen, but he didnât back down, âYou only say that because you think Iâm inexperienced, which is fair. I am. But I can make it to the end-âÂ
Your lips pursed in a grimace as you tried to make sense of everything that was happening. First Rio, then the Salem Seven on your heels, and now this boy who had no idea what he was asking for.
âLook, I love your confidenceâ but the Road is no place for a kid.â
Agatha sank into the couch in the lounge, curling a finger at you in invitation. Smiling, you obliged, perching yourself on the armrest beside her. You were close enough that her hand could slip to rest on your thigh, her fingers tracing soft, lazy patterns over the fabric of your pants. The gentle rhythm of her touch soothed you, and you allowed yourself to calm your nerves, focusing on her proximity and nothing else.Â
âIâm sixteen,â he objected, taking a seat onto the chair across from you.Â
âOh, why didnât you say that before? That changes⊠nothing.â
You had to stifle a laugh at her sarcastic remark.Â
He gave a dramatic eye roll. âCome on! You walked it before and survived!âÂ
Your brows knit in a frown. Just how much did that boy actually understand about you and Agatha? Or rather, how much did he think he understood? No one truly knew what it had been like for the two of you back in the eighteenth century. People clung to their own assumptions, and you let themâafter all, the real truth was far too painful to share. Not a single soul knew the true story behind the reputation Agatha had built, nor the reasons why so many had to die in the first place.Â
Agathaâs hand stilled on your thigh, âI had a very good reason to stay alive, plus Iâm exceptional.â
It wasnât a lie, not completely at least.Â
The boyâs eyes shifted from Agathaâs to yours. You felt as if he knew what Agatha was talking about you. You saw something, a glimpse of understanding in those eyes that somehow unsettled you. If Agatha was known as âwitch killerâ for all the wrong reasons, your reputation also preceded you, but you struggled to say the words.Â
âI read an egregious amount about you two. Iâve been obsessed since I first came up with your Salem days⊠the way you two met, and oh my God- donât get me started on your magic skills.â
So you and Agatha had a little fan.Â
Agathaâs interest rose considerably. She grinned, âcute. Isn't he a cute pet?âÂ
âHonestly, Iâm not sure whether to be flattered or freaked out by all this interest,â you mused.
The boy completely ignored the fact that Agatha just called him pet. âSorry, I justâ youâre a necromancer witch!â He was now struggling to keep a posed tone of voice, and you found yourself scratching the back of your head, not really used to being praised by your gift/curse. Quite the opposite in fact. âGuilty as charged,â you quipped.
Agathaâs hand moved towards your knee, thumb brushing in a soothing circle there. You smiled inwardly at the gesture.
âBooks say witches your kind is so rare, powerful andââ
âharrowed, banished, burned at the stake?â You cut him off in a sing-song tone.Â
Agatha snorted, âyou name it.â
She knew better than anyone what it felt like to be brushed aside. It was one of the reasons why she could bond with you so easily and so quickly. You understood her before she could even attempt to comprehend the complexity about herself and her power.Â
Teen blinked confusedly, âI was gonna say interesting.â
You clasped your hands together and took a deep breath. âLook, we appreciate your enthusiasm. You seem like a really smart boy, and Iâm sure youâre destined for great things, but we canât help you, not with that-âÂ
âBut I saved Agatha from the spellâŠâ his smile turned into a frown and his features dimmed as a consequence, âIâd have come to you too if she hadnât locked me up in the closet. But w-wait,â he suddenly came to a halt, eyebrows knitting in a frown as a new question popped up in his mind. âHow did you wake up from the hex?â
Agatha knew, but said nothing, leaving the explanations to you.
âItâs hard to explainââ Being a necromancer allowed you to have all sorts of⊠vibes. Plus your soul was connected to Agathaâs and her life being threatened by somethingâ or rather someone you knew quite well worked as a wake up bell for you, âitâs like a sixth sense, but better. I can always feel when Agatha needs me. I got a pull into reality the moment Rio broke into the house with the purpose of harming her. I felt her aura. She and Iâ letâs just say our magic works like opposite poles of a magnet.â
Agathaâs features hardened a bit, as she nibbled on the inside of her cheek out of nervousness. Your magic being complementary to Rioâs had caused you more problems than anything else. She almost lost you to her, and thatâs something she would probably never forget.Â
The boy hummed in thought. He was clearly intrigued by your magic and took a mental note to ask you more questions at the first next opportunity, considering he left his notebook in the car.
âAnd whoâs Rio? I didnât hear much butâ there seemed to be a historyââ
âTrouble.â
âA bitch.â
Both you and Agatha said in unison.Â
âWe donât really need to talk about her nowâŠâ you kept vague, hoping he would catch the silent message passing through your eyes. Talking about her was never easy, not when your feelings for her were so tangled and conflicting. Youâd be lying if you said you didnât love her anymore, cause you still did. And Agatha... well, she probably did too, however, she would never admit it, not to you and even less to herself. The past clung like a shadow, and neither of you could ever truly forget. The ache of Rio's choices lingered, buried deep, a silent reminder of what your bond once was and could never be again.Â
He pressed his lips together and gave you a slow nod of his head in return.Â
âIâm curious,â she smacked her lips, your head turned towards her, as she continued, âIf youâve got the goods to break a spell cast by the Scarlet Witch, why do you need the Road?â
Your eyes widened in shock. Was she really considering this?
âThe Road promises that what youâre looking for awaits at its end. I need to walk the road so I can figure out the extent of my power..â he explained and she hummed, eyes narrowing ever so slightly. âDonât you need power yourself?â
Agathaâs back stiffened, âI most certainly do, yes.â
âShe doesnât need to walk the Witches' Road for that,â you pointed out, glancing at the purple witch with the corner of your eyes.Â
The boy was confused. Without giving him too much information, you simply told him that you could share your magic. And, in a way, it was true. A more accurate version would have been explaining that Agatha could kill a witch by absorbing all her power, leaving nothing behind but dust. But that was far too dramatic, plus you were still one hundred percent sure she couldnât and wouldnât harm you in any way.
She let out a long, exhausted sigh at your insistence, âFor the umpteenth time, Iâm not taking your magicââÂ
âUgh!" You groaned. "Aggs, Rio warned usââ
âShe mentioned the Salem Seven, didnât she?â The boy cut you off. âIâm sorry but y-youâve got zero chances against them without magic, Agatha.âÂ
She shot him an icy glare, âThank you for stating the obvious.â
Your lips trembled a bit, as you struggled to hold back an amused grin.
âIâm just trying to understand which alternatives you have,â he muttered defensively.Â
Agatha opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Nothing that she could use to hush both you and the kid.Â
âHeâs got a point, you know. You need my magic, like right now.âÂ
Once again, she ignored you. âOr maybe, we need to walk the Witches' Road one last time.â
The boyâs mouth parted ajar, âReally?â
âReally?â You echoed in a squeak.Â
She simply nodded her head, giving you an innocent smile that only fueled your incredulity. You let out a quiet, bitter chuckle right after, at the same time shaking your head in disbelief.Â
âAgatha, sweetheart, a word?âÂ
You held out your hand for her to take, and just like she did a moment ago, you forced a serene, tranquil smileâone that didnât quite reach your eyes but would have fooled anyone who didnât know you better. She took your hand, her fingers curling around yours as she let you lead her toward the kitchen. Once you were far enough from the boy to speak more privately, you locked eyes with Agatha. Your face was practically shouting, âWhat the hell?!â âa silent message that she heard loud and clear, without a single word spoken.
âThe Road doesnât exist! Whatâs your plan?âÂ
âWe are the only ones aware of that,â she stated matter of factly as if that could be used as a great advantage. âTeen is right, without my magic, I canât defend myself against the Salem Seven, I canât protect myself or you.âÂ
If this wasnât handled carefully, it could spiral into something much worse. You knew, better than anyone, how deeply it hurt Agatha to feel powerless, especially when it came to protecting those she loved. She had faced this agony with Nicky, and now, here she was again, reliving the same fear, this time, for you. Her own life, in that moment, felt like nothing compared to yours. Because without you in it, there was no existence worth living for her.Â
âYou could,â you insisted, in a low, almost pleading tone. âif only you took my powerââ It was so easy.
âIâm not willing to take any risks with you,â she stepped into your bubble, her hands tightening around your shoulders, in a possessive and yet still attentive way. She wanted you to understand. She needed you to be on her side on this. âI need to make sure I've got control over my thirst first. It's been so long since the last time I did that so I'm sorry but youâll not be the lab rat for it.â
âAre you really thinking of using the boy?âÂ
Agathaâs mouth dropped open, âOh no, my God- no! Iâm not talking about Teen, you idiot!âÂ
You crossed your arms over your chest and gave her a defiant look.
She gave in after a bunch of seconds, âOkay, maybe I did think of him for a minute. He did break the Scarlet Witchâs hex, though."Â
You pinched the bridge of your nose at that.
âBut we still need to âwalkâ the Witches Road, except that this time, we arenât killing anyone,â youâre ready to argue back again, but she didnât let you, so you bit your bottom lip instead, trying really trying to find the silver lining at the end of this plan. âHereâs what we will do: we gather a coven, make some female friends, sing the Ballad, it doesnât work, wowie-!, I call them names, they get angry and blast me. I take their magic and stop right before they turn into dust.â
She paused and took into your eyes, letting you assimilate her words, hopeful youâd find her idea good enough, because there was really no time for anything else.Â
âSo, to recapâ,â you cleared your throat, âyouâre willing to lie to that kid, to the poor witches weâll meet along the way, witches whoâll eventually turn against us once they learn our intentions, but youâre not willing to take my magic thatâs literally within armâs length because youâre scared youâll kill me.âÂ
She hummed, feeling quite satisfied with your summary, âyep.â
A slow smirk spread across your lips, âYouâre crazy.â
âMaybe," she conceded. "But this planâs gonna work.â Agatha shifted closer, her hands sliding to your hips, her fingers pressing into your skin with a slight possessive touch.Â
Your gaze fell to where her hands rested and for a moment, there was silence.Â
Time ticked. She waited.Â
âFine. Oh my God- fineââÂ
Before you could say anything else, she pulled you into a crashing hug. Your pout quickly turned into an amused smile, and finally into a fit of giggles when her lips began peppering kisses all over your face.Â
âAtta girl!â She said with a proud grin, to which you responded with a snort.Â
Youâd be pissed, though, if by the end of the day, youâd be forced to resurrect a bunch of witches. But you kept quiet about that.

A Supernatural Ă Batman crossover where the Batfam are actual cryptids and the brothers are sent to hunt them, only to find out that these guys are pretty much immortal, god like beings whose only weaknesses are each other, the sun and some weird sentient manifestation of their home city that they seem to care about, and most of them already grew out of the second one, since, apparently, the sun only affects them when they're newborns/newly transformed/changed.
The whole reason they ended up in Gotham in the first place was because of some online rumors saying that there is a demon cult in the city, as well as BlĂŒdhaven [it's true, partially, the Bat clan has had several cults and/or religions painting them as godly beings/saviours of Gotham throughout the years, still do (imagine the colonies from F'ing Demon Bats, only this time the cryptid part of them is actually real)] along with shrines for human sacrifices.
At first they thought the locals sold themselves to a Pagan God in exchange for their safety, that the shrines and "holy grounds" spread throughout the city were for blood and human sacrifices and the creatures were feeding on the souls of their followers or something.
Turns out, that couldn't be further from the truth. Yes there were bloody sacrifices at the shrines, but most of the time those were just grieving kids bringing their dead pets to silence's holy grounds for them to be healed, or taken care of, by the spirit and have their souls at peace. But, again, that was rare, and only occurred at the holy grounds themselves rather than the shrines people attended to daily.
Majority of those shrines were filled with books, art supplies, music boxes with ballerinas and, sometimes, you could even find a few trinkets and computer parts, as well as the occasional plates and plastic boxes filled with home cooked meals, sometimes they even put pots and kettles filled to the brim with savory goods and nice tea. Nobody ever touched the food, not even the poor and desperate, when asked why all the brothers received were looks of horror and hushed whispers about how "The bats don't like thieves" and "They'll stop coming by the shrine, maybe even destroy it if we do that"
Dean didn't like it, neither did Sam, they didn't like how the locals, people who barely even bat an eye when they see a dead body on their way to work, get so scared and terrified as soon as they hear of something that might displease the Bats. They tried asking around, trying to figure out what is it that makes them so scared of their dearly beloved deities, after all, they talk about them like such a wonder, like they're the best thing that ever happened to them. Hell, one of them is named Mercy and was revered for its compassion and understanding of those around them.
They only got their answer when investigating a place called Crime Alley. They locals were all the same, if not even more reserved than their city's counterparts, but there was one person, a young girl who couldn't be older than ten that said she'll be willing to answer their questions in return for some money and stories from their time as hunters. They were reluctant at first, but seeing as they haven't had much of an option, they agreed.
"So, Masey" Dean started
"Missy" she corrected
"Right, sorry, Missy, you said that you could tell us what's up regarding those demons"
"Deities" she said sternly, the man simply nodded "And yes, I can do that, but you'll have to do something for me first"
"And what would that be?"
"You said you were a hunter, right?" He nodded "And you also said you have some money. So I want you to give me two hundred dollars, cash, and a written story containing at least three of your adventures with your partner. You can't use big fonts, lie or omit any details from the story, it needs to be one hundred percent real and legible and needs to be at least fifty pages, understood?"
Dean was confused, confused and worried. Why would this child need a story about them hunting monsters? And why did she need it to be so long and accurate? Was she trying to sell them out to the Bats or something? Why was this so important?
A million questions flooded his head and looking at Sammy, he could tell the feeling was very much mutual.
"Um Missy" it was Sam talking to her this time "Why would you want a story of us hunting like that? We could tell you about our time together on the field, if you want, but why do you need that written so meticulously?"
The little girl shook her head before he even finished speaking "No, no, I need it written"
"How so?"
"For Passion, of course"
"Passion?"
"Yeah, Passion, the component watching over Crime Alley, it loves reading stories but only when they're worth it. It doesn't like when people give them stories only to please it or for it to give them undeserved attention. It needs to be good and interesting, a story about two hunters will definitely do that"
The two hunters met each other's eyes, both their expressions filled with worry, apprehension and suspicion.
"And why all the other rules? Why does have to be so long and accurate?"
The girl tilted her head, looking at them as though they've said something stupid "Because you're introducing yourself, maybe"
"I can't just tell you guys all there is to know about the Bat without at least one of the components acknowledging you guys and giving me permission to share that information with outsiders"
"And what makes you think it won't just kill us as soon as it realizes what we do for a living?" They might've been desperate, but that doesn't mean they're going to give an essay about their weaknesses and hunting methods to a freaky, probably homicidal spirit on a silver platter
"Because they like people like you, people who put their lives on the line in order to help those around them. Also" she leveled her gaze with Dean's, which was pretty impressive considering she barely reached his hip "Had it wanted you dead, you wouldn't have been able to take two steps inside Crime Alley without having a heart attack, or your head magically disappearing"
The two brothers tensed, the taller's eyes rapidly scanning their surroundings, hands fishing out a weird cellular device, probably an EMF reader or maybe a bottle of holy water, as the shorter failed to keep up his confident facade in front of the (probably) ten year old (because Dean isn't going to be spooked by a kid that hasn't even reached the double digits yet, he's đŻđ°đ”)
The little girl laughed, completely ignoring their - very justified!!! - panic "Relax, would ya? Passion doesn't kill people unless they feel like it's necessary"
They didn't seem to be very relaxed, she didn't care, she just told them to meet her again on the border of Crime Alley and its neighbor city in a week, before leaving.
Two hours later, Carrie Kelley was skipping into the main living room of Wayne Manor, where several of her siblings played video games and with their father reading the newspaper on the side, the perfect illusion of a normal, happy, completely human family.
She walked up to Bruce, sitting on the arm of his sofa as the last of her illusion magic slipped away
"Did you do it?"
"I offered them the deal, still not sure if they'll end up actually agreeing to it"
"Mn. You did well"
The young teen preened under the praise, thanking her father before going off to boast and scheme with the rest of her siblings, they were up planning contingencies and devising plans until Sundown.

High Flyer - Part Two
pairing: charles x reader
summary: no spoilers đ€
masterlist part one requests open
âââââââââ
You stayed a week extra in Abu Dhabi, not needing to return to Maranello quite yet. You could say that the allure of Ferrari World was too much, and Carlos talked it up to you. It was perfectly silly and probably the best second date you ever had.
The photos of you and Charles post-race were popular among fans, trying to figure out who he is. Then the video dropped, and you found yourself trending in the community once more.
âThey are just as fascinated with you as I am,â Charles has said over a video call when talking about it shortly after becoming official.
It takes a lot for you to make the relationship work, strictly timed video calls, staying positive during the periods of time when you donât get to talk to him, even sending letters back and forth. Somehow it works for you, and you cherish the moments when you get to talk face to face.
The glittering Monaco harbor is behind you as you put your earring in, preparing for the prize giving ceremony. Thankfully itâs not far from your apartment, and you only have to be there for your second place award. You hear a knock on your door and grab your phone, just in case itâs a crazy fan who snuck past the door guards.
âCharles?â you gasp, looking at the man in a suit in front of you, a small suitcase in tow.
âBonsoir, ma cherie. I heard you are in need of a date tonight?â he smiles as you practically throw yourself on him. Charles holds you tight, savoring the moment.
âHow are you here?â you ask in disbelief, the shock distracting you from how good he looks in his dress uniform.
âI got a couple days off. Max helped coordinate the surprise,â Charles reveals, your neighbor and friend pulling through for you.
âIâm so glad you are here,â you catch him off guard by pressing a kiss to his lips, melting into his arms.
âIâm glad I am here too, you look beautiful, and Iâve missed you so much,â he says softly, taking in your Ferrari red dress that fits you perfectly.
âI missed you too, this is much nicer than a video call,â you sigh, not wanting to step out of his embrace, fearing that if you do he will disappear. You know that his assignment is almost up, but you learned that âalmost upâ means a year.
âI know, but I wouldnât miss this for anything. I get to celebrate my incredibly talented girlfriend,â he pulls back slightly, aware of the time and that you need to leave soon.
âWhat if we just donât go and stay in?â you suggest. Any desire to go flew out the window when you opened your front door.
âNo, we will go, you will give your speech, and then as soon as itâs over we can leave. You have me for a couple more days,â Charles kisses you once more, not really helping the whole wanting to stay thing.
You rarely lose physical contact with him on the way over to the ceremony, whether itâs holding his hand, his hand on your waist or leg, or you holding his arm.
âDonât you two look happy,â Max smiles, proud of himself for the surprise. You and Charles make for a much better looking pair than the fan ship of you and Max. Not to mention, Max is like your brother.
âThank you,â you whisper as you quickly hug Max. Charles shakes Maxâs hand after.
âYou may have chosen the most boring event to make your first appearance as a couple at,â Max chuckles, leading the two of you to the bar.
âWell, they wouldnât let me skip it,â you grumble.
âWhat are you grumbling about?â Carlos approaches your small group.
âThat she couldnât skip this,â Max says before you can reply. Charles squeezes your hand as you roll your eyes at Max. You take a glass of wine, needing something other than champagne.
âAnd miss a chance to show off her new boyfriend? I doubt it. Arenât you glad that the PR team chose me to go to Ferrari World instead of you?â Carlos smiles, knowing that heâs right.
âNo,â you lie, âI had to pay to go myself after the race. Charles was the only good part about the media duties,â you slightly lean into your boyfriend.
âSure. We can both go to the amusement park next year and Iâll pay,â Carlos chuckles, grabbing his drink from the bar.
âLetâs find our seats?â Charles suggests, kissing the side of your head. You quickly find your table, Fred already there to represent the team in the Constructors Championship.
âMy sometimes favorite drivers,â Fred jovially greets you and Carlos as if he didnât see you in Maranello a week ago for a sim session.
The ceremony drags on, you take every opportunity to converse with Charles and your table, but you are subject to hours of awards and speeches. When the night is finally over, you turn down every afterparty invitation thrown your way.
âI am not going to place in the top three next year,â you groan as you slide your heels off. Charles is immediately drawn to the piano that sits in your living room.
âDo you play?â he asks, looking natural behind the keys.
âNot well or often enough, the former renter left it here. I keep it maintained though,â you hum, sitting beside him gently. Charles runs his fingers across the ivory keys, trying to recall a song.
âWell then, let me to the honors,â he smiles, fingers pressing down, easily gliding up and down the keyboard.
âThat was incredible, you are incredible,â you say softly afterwards, youâve never been serenaded before and itâs a turn on.
Charles leans in, capturing you in a kiss. His large, calloused hand rough against your cheek. When you pull away, you lead him to your bedroom, craving all the contact that you missed since you last saw him physically.
The air is charged as he unzips your dress, fingers brushing your bare skin sensually, making you arc into him. Charles brushes your hair off your shoulder and neck, pressing featherlight kisses to the area. Your breaths are shallow, breathless from everything.
âCharles,â you whisper, his name like a prayer on your lips, asking for anything and everything.
âLet me take care of you, ma reine,â he replies, nudging you back towards the bed as your red dress slides off your body. You hands slide up his chest, pausing to push off his suit jacket before they rest on his neck and in his hair.
After a long night, you spend the morning rotting in bed. Charles holds you close as you talk about anything and everything. You take him out on your yacht later in the day, a nice change of scenery.
âI donât want you to leave tomorrow,â you admit as the sea breeze pushes your hair around.
âI donât want to either, but Iâve been reassigned to southern France. Iâll get to see you more often,â Charles reminds you. You nod, fighting any tears back at the thought of separating again.
âI know, I just love you,â you bittersweetly smile, a pang in your heart as he pulls you close.
âAnd I love you,â he says softly, savoring the feeling of your embrace.
You see him a few more times before pre-season testing, visiting him off base and vice versa. The visits were short but worth every moment. Charles calls you when you are leaving dinner after the first day of testing.
âMon amour, how was testing?â he asks, sweaty from a flight.
âMy body is sore, but it was good. I just had dinner with my kids,â you smile, a small pack of drivers behind you.
âOh, Oscar and Logan are there? Tell yhem hello for me,â Charles smiles.
âHi Dad, Logan isnât here,â Oscar smiles, popping into the frame and stealing your phone. You carried the loss of your son deeply, but you donât blame Charles for forgetting that Logan wasnât on the grid anymore since you said you were with multiple grid kids.
âYou havenât told him?â Ollie asks, large brown eyes looking sad at his exclusion.
âI just adopted you, kiddo. Itâs hard to break the news that heâs now a father to twins and a grandfather,â you laugh, pulling Ollie into a hug. It didnât take you long to adopt more grid kids, in fact as soon as you got to the paddock Ollie and Kimi came up to you calling you mom. Itâs like the cat distribution system. Oscar adopted the new Australian on the grid, citing the Alpine connection, meaning you are a grid grandma. Oscar comes back to you and hands your phone to you.
âWe are grandparents?â Charles asks, a little bewildered.
âYes, funnily enough our grandchild was born at the same time as our twins,â
âTwins?â
âHi Dad!â Ollie and Kimi say at the same time when you turn the phone to them.
âHello?â Charles is confused but he does love how you take in the rookies and make them feel at home.
âSorry, Charles, why donât I call you when I get back to my hotel?â you smile apologetically, wanting to have time for both of you.
âOf course, call me when you get back,â Charles agrees, no trace of disappointment in his voice. He doesnât have much to share about his day, especially since he doesnât have a scheduled flight for a while. Charles watches as the call ends, thankful that he didnât spoil his surprise.
Testing passes and suddenly itâs the first race of the season. You walk into the paddock, your brood with you. You, Ollie, and Kimi are deep in conversation, confusing Oscar and Jack a bit as you speak in Italian. Youâve already had movie nights that ended with them strewn across your hotel room, and you just know that they will be in and out of your room this season. F1TV already caught Ollie leaning against you taking a nap as you hugged him last season, and they captured Kimi doing something similar during testing.
âPapĂ ,â Kimi says suddenly and you furrow your brows. Jack taps your shoulder and points ahead. Your smile grows as you notice Charles standing ahead, waiting for you. You take off, practically jumping into his arms.
âYouâre here,â you grin, barely waiting to kiss him.
âI had to fulfill my WAG duties and meet our children,â he smiles, not letting you out of the hug yet. He utilized his brother Arthur, your reserve driver, to get a pass. Your face was priceless when you first connected the two, it was quite funny how long it took. Apparently sharing a last name and resemblance wasnât enough until he mentioned it on the phone shortly after Abu Dhabi.
âGet a room,â Oscar makes a face that causes both of you to laugh.
âOh we will,â you lean into your boyfriend, content to never leave.
âEwww,â Ollie gags, disgusted at the idea. You and Charles laugh, like proud parents embarrassing your kids.
âThatâs Ollie, this is Kimi, our grandson Jack, and you know Oscar,â you point to each boy.
âNice to meet you all officially,â Charles smiles as he keeps an arm wrapped around your waist.
âAlright kiddos, time for you all to get to your teams. Drive safely,â you part ways with them, itching to get to Ferrari for some private time. Charles insists on getting a coffee before going to your drivers room, and the two of you barely get a second alone before there is a knock on your door. You pull away from Charles, irritation laced in your voice. âI just got here, go away,â you call out before pulling your boyfriend back in.
âI know you are hiding my brother from me,â Arthurâs voice responds causing you to pull away, a slight pout on your lips. Charles quietly laughs, pressing a quick kiss to your lips before he gets up to open the door. Arthur struts in, sitting between you and Charles. You did have the chance to spend time with the Leclercs in their home.
âYou know, brother, if you wanted to get with Y/n earlier, you shouldâve just asked me. You are lucky I suggested that the media team send her instead of Carlos,â Arthur says and you gasp.
âYOU ARE THE REASON HE GOT FERRARI WORLD INSTEAD?â you practically yell, causing Charles to stifle a laugh. You arenât mad, well you are but in more of a joking way, sorta.
âShe really did not like flying,â Charles clarifies, stretching an arm behind Arthur to play with your hair, a comforting touch.
âAt least you met eachother?â Arthur suggests sheepishly.
âHe was going to be at the race anyway,â you narrow your eyes.
âYou trauma bonded?â Arthur suggests again and your eyes light up.
âHave you ever seen the video of Charles during his hot laps?â you ask, wickedly smiling. Charles looks at you, a mix of panic and curiosity in his eyes.
âNo, show me!â
âNope. That blackmail belongs to me, since you so kindly took away my fun,â you shake your head, locking your phone. Charles lets out a breath of relief, he trusts you completely, but he was worried for a second.
âYouâre no fun. You never even adopted me into your grid family,â Arthur pouts as you and Charles lock eyes, shared amusement between you.
âArthur, why would she adopt you? You are my brother,â
âI donât know, because sheâs the most sought after grid parent. Plus, itâs not like you two are engaged,â Arthur says and you flush with embarrassment and flattery.
âArthur, you are basically my brother, you donât need to be my grid kid. You are on the same level as Charles and Carlos,â you are starting to feel like a parent describing something to a young kid.
âI guess that is better. You better mention that when making a family tree video,â Arthur concedes.
âWhy donât we go out for dinner after the second practice session?â Charles suggests, hoping to kill some of the awkwardness.
âI think thatâs a great idea. Speaking of, I should start getting ready,â you catch Charlesâ unspoken message, hoping to get Arthur out of your room.
âRight, I should do my job too,â Arthur stands up, half expecting Charles to follow, but isnât surprised when he stays. They can catch up while you drive.
âFinally a moment alone,â Charles grins moving closer to you.
âI wasnât lying, I do need to get ready,â you say between kisses.
âYou need to undress first, and I can help with that,â Charles murmurs against your lips as his hands slide underneath your shirt.
âWe are working on limited time,â you point out, brain fogging.
âWe go fast for a living, we can do it,â you were a few minutes late for your prep meeting. Arthur gave you a weird look, one that told you he knew what you were up to.
Both Charles and Arthur were glad to have the weekend together, spending time as a family while you raced. Before you knew it, Charles was kissing you goodbye at the airport as you both went to your next stops. His France and yours Saudi Arabia.
What you didnât expect was Arthur banging on your driver room door as you are prepping.
âIâm in, Iâm driving,â Arthur seems to be freaking out a little bit as you let him in, dressed in a Ferrari suit.
âCarlos is out?â
âHeâs in the hospital getting surgery. Iâm driving a Formula One car,â you process it beside him, remaining much more calm than Arthur.
âDid you call your mom?â you ask, knowing the answer is likely no since he wouldâve been in team meetings since he found out. Arthur shakes his head no, so you squeeze his shoulder and grab your phone.
âY/n, what a surprise. Is everything okay?â Pascaleâs voice rings out over the phone.
âIâm sending a jet to you right now, and Iâll send the flight details in a bit. Arthur will drive his first F1 race and you should be here,â you tell her over speaker phone, working everything out starting with the flights.
âIs Arthur with you?â she asks as Arthur peers over your shoulder.
âHello Maman,â you tune out their conversation as you send her the jet details and start working on hotel rooms for her, Lorenzo, and Charlotte as well as paddock passes. You only really get out of your planning zone when Arthur grabs your phone to hang up and hug you.
âYou okay?â you finally ask, knowing he is probably emotionally drained already.
âI canât wait for you to officially be my sister, and I canât wait to drive alongside you this weekend,â Arthur says, you gently rub his back to ground him.
âYou will do a great job. Letâs get through free practice three and then we can talk about some tricks to make it work for you,â you stand up, grabbing your gear to head to the garage.
You try to help him out as the team gets him adjusted and tested for approval, but you have your own driving to worry about too. Itâs very clear to the team that you are looking out for Arthur and want to help him learn the ropes. But when itâs time to get into the car, he is own his own. You do well in your program running, but check in on Arthur periodically via your engineer.
Arthur qualifies well for a rookie, and you start the race second row at P3. He is the first person to greet you in Ferrari after you return from the media gauntlet.
âCongrats on P3,â Arthur smiles, showered and ready to go back to the hotel.
âThanks! You did pretty well for your first time. Give me like 20 minutes to shower, yeah?â you ask, ready to get some sleep.
âThanks again for helping me get through today, I see why everyone wants you as their grid mom,â Arthur says, not protesting when you hug him.
âOf course, I want you to succeed,â you reply, excited to see his reaction when his family is waiting at the hotel for him. The team covered their hotel rooms since you booked flights before they could.
âI canât wait for you to be my actual sister one day,â Arthur yawns, your face Ferrari red at the thought. Of course you thought about it, but having him say it is different, itâs more real.
âMaybe one day,â you say, sliding into your chauffeured car. Arthur gets in beside you, and finds himself as your pillow. You accidentally fell asleep as the car left the circuit. Arthur takes a selfie and sends it to his family group chat as your soft snores fill the car. He scrolls on instagram, killing the rest of the time on the drive, when he sees an edit that the F1 account posted. It is the free practice three timesheet with your last name changed to Leclerc. He sends it to you, knowing you wouldnât want to be awakened for it even if it is funny.
âY/n,â Arthur pokes you as you arrive at the hotel.
âHmm, sorry. You shouldâve woke me up once I fell asleep, you donât have to be my pillow,â you yawn, slightly stretching before getting out of the car.
âMaman,â Arthur hugs Pascale, who is patiently waiting at the entrance for him.
âIâm so proud of you,â she says before stopping you from slipping past. Not that you were going to avoid her, you just assumed she would want privacy with Arthur. âAnd you, thank you for today. You are a part of this family,â she wraps you in a hug, making sure you know how much your effort was appreciated.
âOf course, you couldnât miss Arthurâs first race. Iâll let you guys catch up,â you smile, hugging her one last time.
âCanât have you falling asleep again,â Arthur teases, your smile deceives your joking irritation.
âYou wonât let me live that down, will you?â you say, shaking your head. âI will see you in the morning for breakfast,â you bid them goodnight, ready to collapse in the plush hotel bed.
Itâs a sight to see, you walking into the paddock with the Leclercâs (minus Charles) behind you. Itâs clear to fans that you have been easily incorporated into the family. Charles watches from afar, having the day off from officer duties. He sends a couple texts, wishing you luck and a few memes from fans based on the post made by F1. You reply when you can, but itâs sporadic.
âReady to lose?â Max asks you during the drivers parade.
âI should ask you the same. But if it means I donât have to sit through prize giving again, then yes I am ready to lose,â
âItâs not that bad,â
âYou won your third championship, you are used to it. Plus, you hate those events more than me, donât lie,â you laugh.
âAlright, that is fair,â Max relents. He ends up winning, but you climbed a position and took P2. You wonât hear the Italian anthem this week, but you sing it in your head on the podium as you get your trophy. The teams energy is infectious, even for P2. Arthur meets you in the motorhome, holding a phone to your face.
âCongrats, mon amour,â Charles says, a proud smile on his face.
âI drove okay, Arthur drove well though! Points in his first race,â you smile, accepting hugs from Lorenzo and Charlotte. Pascale stole Arthurâs phone, taking Charles away from you.
âAny recommendations for dinner?â Lorenzo asks, ready to celebrate.
âA few. Will you two come out tonight to celebrate?â you ask, adjusting the suit that hangs at your waist.
âSomeone has to stay with Pascale, but I know Arthur will party tonight,â Charlotte politely turns down the offer.
âI will, I heard Max always sets up good parties,â Arthur is excited to celebrate with the grid.
âExpensive parties, you are lucky Iâm picking up the tab for you,â you laugh, Arthurâs phone being placed in your hand.
âYou look tired, call me when you get to your room,â Charles smiles sympathetically.
âWill do, love you,â you smile back, handing the phone to Arthur as you make your way to your driver room. True to your word, you call him once you shower and change. It takes another twenty minutes on the phone for Arthur to bang down your door, reminding you that you have a family dinner to get to.
âEnjoy dinner, I love you,â Charles says before hanging up.
The season flys after that, especially when Ferrari begins to get very competitive again, putting more pressure on you and Carlos.
Charles got leave approved to go with you to the prize giving, both of you deciding to make a mini vacation out of it. The night before, you go to a small Parisian restaurant for an early dinner then a sunset walk along the Seine.
âWhat was your favorite part of the season?â Charles asks, wrapping an arm around you.
âHmm, maybe winning Miami, or finally getting more consistent at the end of the season. The PR team would want me to say the trip in Abu Dahbi they arraigned for Carlos and I since I publicly complained that only he went to the Ferrari World last year,â you ponder the question, not having thought about it. You and Carlos had a blast, and it made both of you think of taking trips to amusement parks during winter break. âWhat was yours?â
âThat graphic of you with my last name,â Charles reveals with a smile, he still makes you blush like a schoolgirl.
âThat was a good choice,â you see something on the other side of the river and take a step away to get a close look.
You turn towards him to point it out and thatâs when you find him on one knee.
âIâve been waiting since the start of the season to ask you this. I knew during testing that you were the one and that I would marry you, then when everything in Saudi Arabia happened, it confirmed it more. You are my everything, and my forever. Will you marry me?â Charles asks, watching you tearfully nod.
âYes,â you nod, watching him slide on the ring. Charles is beaming as he pulls you in for a kiss.
âForever,â you whisper your promise against his lips.
âWhat if we get married tonight?â Charles asks, the thought springing into his mind.
âTonight? Why not,â you grin, a rush of adrenaline going through you.
âWe will have to wait for the paperwork, but Iâm sure we can find a priest,â Charles kisses you, as he mentally plans it.
âLetâs find the nearest church, maybe the priest is a Ferrari fan,â you wink. The priest was, and was more than happy to marry you despite no wedding certificate. Your families were ecstatic, especially when you both promised to have a formal wedding during summer break.

Faker
Im going through a hard time this month with my cats health so thought i do a random vent fic enjoy.
Summary: They fake to make it, they both are lonely losers that manage to make the best of it. Sometimes a vent fight helps them find some peace from their trauma. Tag: Trauma bonding, crush hinted, SMG34, the gays are fighting
SMG4 yawns as he gets out of bed, the morning light shines hitting the man in the eyes. He squints as he closes the curtains, for once SMG4 got to bed at a decent time. With a proud smile the guardian leaves his room to get breakfast together, that's when he notices a purple blur pass by his window. He turns and sees a depressed looking SMG3, concerned for his partner he runs to his bedroom to put on his iconic overalls before heading to Threeâs coffee n bombs. As he approaches the cafe, he catches SMG3 sitting at a table outside. With a bright smile Four greets the man âHey three! How is everything going?â Three sighs as he glares at SMG4 âWhat do you want SMG4?â he spat out making SMG4 take a step back. It was clear as day that Three was not having a good day, he looked around and noticed not a single customer showed up. Frowning, Four nervously points it out âStill not having luck?â Three growls getting up from his seat âWHY DO YOU CARE?â The anger and hatred that came out made Fourâs eyes go wide.Â
He then lets out a sigh as he keeps talking to Three with a cheerful tone âWe are friends Three, of course i would worry. Is there any way I can help you?â Three rolls his eyes walking to his cafe door âWhy? To show you're better than me?â Four shakes his head âNo! Come on Three, we make a great team don't weâŠthere is no need to push me away.â Threeâs grip on the door handle tightens, every night since the usb garbage incident he has been haunted by an image of SMG4. He grins down at Three calling him pathetic, that he is nothing but a faker acting tough when he is nothing but a softy at heart. His grip lightens as he wonders if that version of Four had a point, shaking his head he pulls the door open. Seeing this Four runs after him, he grabs Threeâs hand in concern âThree what is going on with you?â
Three turns smacking Fourâs hand away âWhat's wrong? Everything I do fails! No matter how hard I try to entertain people, everyone sees my content as cringe. I make the cafe of my dreams and no one comes due toâŠthe owner being unlikable.â Four reaches out to comfort Three only for the other man to walk away from it, Four looks down thinking before giving the man a small smile âYou have done successful things, you're super smart and figured out how to out smart so many of the villains we fight! Remember zero, how you pointed out how to save Mario!â Three lets out a bitter laugh âYou mean the same monster that killed Terrence, yeah i really got a victory for us there.âÂ
Four starts to get upset at how the guardian kept brushing aside his attempts to comfort him, Three walks behind the counter looking at Four with annoyance. SMG4 walks up to the counter giving SMG3 a desperate âLet me help you out Three,â that got SMG3 to laugh âHelp me? How fake can you be, ah yes help with my trauma as you ignore yours!â Four stareâs confused at his partner, Three places a cup in front of Four âYou were an asshole to your best friend on his day, you got a keyboard that almost killed us all. Oh yeah, how about using my past against me to get everyone to come to your fucking Christmas party!â SMG4 stares, mouth agape at SMG3 words, slowly he smacks the table causing the cup to jump slightly âoh yeah? YOU ALMOST SHOT ME BECAUSE YOUR OLD VILLAIN FRIEND TOLD YOU TO!â SMG3 growls climbing the counter to be taller than the other man âYOU ALMOST DROP ME FOR THE PERFECT VIDEO!â Four grabs Threeâs leg throwing him to the floor causing the cup to fall, shattering, Four was done playing nice with the man that clearly just wanted to fight âYOU THINK NO ONE CAN TELL BUT WE ALL KNOW YOUR THE FAKE!â Hearing those words angered the man, Three kicked Fourâs leg causing him to lose balance and join him on the floor. SMG3 pins the man down growling âFAKE! AT LEAST I DON'T PRETEND IM A NICE PERSON THAT CAN DO NOT WRONG!âÂ
They both stay silent staring at each other, breathing heavily after all their yelling. Three lets go of Four as his eyes water âAnd yetâŠi still think you're my best friend..â Four sits up surprised to hear Threeâs words, thinking over the pairâs past he lets out a small chuckle âGuess in the end, we both suck huh?â Three wipes his eyes giving a small smile âAt least you can admit you suck, been telling you for years.â Four playfully smacks Three as they both giggle feeling better after their small fight. Three grabs Fourâs hand shyly looking off to the side, hiding his blush âIâm frustrated that things don't go my way, I hate being second placeâŠso I took my anger out on you.â Four smiles and scoots closer to his partner resting his head on the man's shoulder as their fingers intertwine âI forgive you, plus your rightâŠI fake being okay cause it's hard to face all I have done.â Three hums as he turns looking Four in his eyes âYeah wellâŠwe have our ways to cope just remember im always here for you.â They both smile softly at each other forgetting that the cafe was open, Meggy giggles seeing the sight. Meggy and Tari walk away from the cafe with a big smile âI think it's best if we let those to talk out their feelings Tari.âÂ

Alternate ending where SQH presses the return home button after yelling at MBJ + I somehow turned it into a slightly happier ending(this was supposed to end with SQH being alone till he dies)(bro never moves on)
but in this oneshot, he becomes a part of the Shen family.
Mobei-Jun mourning SQHâs body⊠imagineâŠ
The moment he presses on the button, he felt his heart sink with the glow surrounding him.
He was going back to his body, which was equivalent to dying. Turning to his icy surroundings, light snow falling onto the tip of his fingers, his knees unbuckle as he fell to the floor.

He regrets it, he really does. He shoud have just stayed in the other world. There, at least he knows how to escape the life he had, he knows people who would care about him even if he had run away (at least, he hoped so?)
here, there was no one. His parents didnât care about him, theyâd already moved on with new families in their lives. They hadnât even bat an eye when they found out his body was a coma.
Shang Qinghua shivered in his hospital bed, tears slipping down his cheeks, he couldnât even let out a sound.
It was cold. It was empty. His arms were bandaged heavily, theyâd told him that he had severe burns because of the fact that there was hot water when it happened.
He couldnât write; Proud Immortal Demon Way had already ended. He⊠just reallyâŠlacked the motivation to ever write again. Without his most passionate fan, without his king or his martial siblings⊠itâs unbearable. Losing the trust of everyone he knew was heart breaking enough, but theyâ they had forgiven him for his final moments.
Theyâd let him back into the sectâ! Liu Qingge had grinned at him, after all that. Mu Qingfang allowed him to nap in the medical room whenever things got too hecticâheck! Yue Qingyuan visited his peak for friendly conversation and tea!
Shang Qinghua had given all of that up, and for what???
He didnât know any moreâŠ.
HaaaâŠ. His anxiety and fear had gotten the best of him.
There was no Cucumber bro to critique his 3000+ chapter novel, there were no ice kings to force him to stop working in the middle of the night because of his health.
It was just him. Just Luo Meihua. The useless idiot.
A mistake he made, and he will never ever be able to see his family again.
Shen Qingqiu was right, Shang Qinghua was an idiot.
â
âHey..â A quiet feminine voice pulls him out from the grasp of sleep, his heavy eyes open wearily as he tries to focus on the new figure. It wasnât one of those nurses. The girl was wearing a very blue casual outfit, blue sweater, blue jeans, and even a blue purse.
âŠ.?
He squinted. Did he know her..??
He knew this wasnât one of his half siblings, they were much younger than he was. âHhâŠ.â He tried hard to say something, but a year of unuse made it hard to say the right words.
âItâs okay! Uhm, you donât need to speak! Iâm sure youâre wondering who I am?â
Shang Qinghua nodded minutely.
âMy name is Shen Yang. Do you remember the story you wrote?â
He grimaced, giving her a pained look, he knew by now how shitty it was, please donât make him talk about it??? I mean, there was some good parts but if he could, he wouldnât have made A Ding as the sole logistics peak!!!
Wait.. âShen..?â
She laughs slightly, mistaking his question for something else, âMm, my brother was Peerless Cucumber, he went into a coma like you did, one year ago. If you knew him, anyway. He hated your novel.â
No wonder she looked familiarâ!
But.. huh How did she know he was in a coma? How did she know he was here.
He tried to convey that to her with his raised eyebrow.
âWe⊠uhm. Originally, we wanted to personally talk to you, since⊠we found AâYuanâs notes in his computer. It was more critiques about the novel,â Shang Qinghua stifled a fond laugh, Ahh, Cucumber bro⊠ââŠand so⊠we found out you were in a coma, just like my brother.â
â
Shen Family: finds out Airplane is in a coma and they visit him once
Shen Yang is also a volunteer at the hospital, just so she can visit Shen Yuan more often. So occasionally, she watches Airplaneâs coma body, wondering what kind of person he was to write PIDW
sometimes she writes and reads it out to Shen Yuan because she knows he loved stories, even if they sucked
When Airplane wakes up and they both realise he has no home anymore,
(âYour parents..?â
Shang Qinghua shook his head and laughed bitterly, âitâs not like they visited me at all.â)
So she persuades her parents to let him stay at the house (they refuse at first, like, airplaneâs a stranger, and theyâre still mourning Shen Yuan)
But eventually, they pittied him and allowed him to stay.
(âI promise Iâll pay you back, thank you so much for your kindness!!!â)
After all his trauma, he becomes the quiet kid, no silly rambles, and without any system forcing him on any missions, he becomes so so antsy, so he just takes on a lot of responsibilities and becomes sick and is super miserable until Shen Family takes an intervention
Eventually they get attached to SQH and help him get therapy. And it doesnât actually help much, he couldnât talk about his transmigration trauma at all
BUT he admits the little things, like his parentsâ emotional neglect and accidentally mentions something like âIâm used to getting beat up. Iâm used to everyone pushing their work onto me.â
Which is concerning in modern society,, like,,, why is he used to getting beat up 3 times a day
Bro just really hates himself
But one day, maybe after a few long months, the light in his eyes return and he gets into a rant again and Shen Yang just remembers his brother, Shen Yuan, and sees him in SQH and
man
Shen Yang shares stories about his brother to SQH
(âHe sucked at sewing.â )
( âShut up, Airplane⊠Sewing is harder than it looks.â Shen Qingqiu glared at him.)
#shang qinghua#svsss#svsss au#i havenât read the entire svsss#svsss fanfiction#my post#Shang Qinghua returns home and doesnât die#he realises he made a mistake and suffers for it#especially with the consequences of being electrocuted#hahaha what if shen yuanâs family found out airplane had woken up from his coma and decided to reach out#Shen family adopts SQH au#the epitome of self indulgence#donât worry Iâll write the mourning scene/j#dialogue heavy#because itâs hard to describe stuff#does this even make sense???

In Defense of Caitlyn Kiramman
No, this is not a defense of any of her actions or decisions she made after she donned the beret. This is a defense of the writing of her character and what (I believe) the writers are trying to do. With only one act down, thereâs many ways the writers can take this. They could very well fumble it. However, I will give the writers the benefit of the doubt. With that out of the wayâŠ
The descent into darkness and the corruption arcs are classic storytelling. Where the protagonist, hit with so many traumas and setbacks, gives into her darker feelings, sometimes aided by a more devious figure in the background.
Given all the traumas that Caitlyn has experienced as explained by @bramblebeau, something was going to happen. Without Ambessa Medarda being that devious figure, would Caitlyn have gone full authoritarian at the end of episode 3? Maybe. I still think she would have, but perhaps not as far. But to argue that this is bad storytelling because Caitlyn did not keep her idealism and morality is⊠horrible missing the point.Â
What are the points? When faced with trauma and the desire to retaliate and seek revenge, it is very easy to manipulate those who want those two things. And, in the world we actually live in, we have seen this time and again. Need I bring up the US War on Terror? Whether directly or indirectly, the cultural impact of the 9/11 Attacks, second Iraq War, and the US War on Terror has been and will continue to do so (and if you want a less subtle commentary on that, check out Naoki Urasawaâs Pluto also on Netflix).Â
Ambessa Medarda not only manipulating Caitlyn, but the Piltover Elite, was masterful because it showed how easy it is when you can control the flow of information, control the rhetoric, and eventually dehumanize your âenemyâ as something less than human. Itâll be fascinating to hear how Caitlynâs speech changes and what type of language she uses when talking about Zaun.
At this point, we donât know exactly what the writers are going to do. But it does raise some intriguing and exciting questions from a storytelling perspective. Caitlyn, right now, is at the edge of (the heart) of darkness. Is her blood-lust for revenge going to cause her to fall in? Will someone be able to talk sense into her? Can anyone in Piltover talk any sense into her? How, if at all, can Vi be the one to help/save her? Or will they save each other? How can Vi be that tiny light in the darkness when she has her own trauma to deal with? (Thereâs another point to examine how both dealt with the trauma by the end of Act 1. Vi went inward and, based on the trailers, went full self-destructive mode. Caitllyn went outward and became the public face of a fascist regime).Â
Caitlyn already started taking steps to that darkness after she got the Kiramman key and decided that GASSING ZAUN (and all the implications THAT brings)Â was the best option for her strike team to open its mission to capture Jinx, dismantle shimmer, neutralize any agents loyal to Silco. Whatever justification given, especially by Vi, is naive at best and delusional at worst. Vi might have gone along simply because she feels some blame and wants to support Caitlyn. But what Caitlyn did was unjustifiable. The moment you simply accept âcollateral damageâ as simply being a Tuesday, your moral dipstick is bone dry (credits to Fox Mulder for that one). But that isnât bad storytelling. Iâm supposed to feel that way.
Caitlynâs descent, as it stands, allows the writer to either give her something of a redemption arc where she realizes the horrors of what she has done and what has to be done to fix it.Â
This is classic storytelling 101.
And I am fucking here for it.
Thanks to @caitlyn-kirammans for listening to me ramble this out first.

Forbidden Feelings
paring: haechan x femÂĄreader
synopsis: college student haechan who has a crush on his best friend mark leeâs sister. whom by the way is COMPLETELY off limits to his friends.
genre: smau
8. IM SORRY
Later that evening, you sit at home, waiting. Youâre anxious, pacing around and glancing at your phone every few minutes, wondering if this plan is actually going to work. And then thereâs a loud knock on your door.
You open it, and there he isâHaechan, breathing hard, a look of worry on his face. âAre you okay?â he asks, eyes scanning you as if to make sure youâre really fine.
You nod, your heart racing. âIâm fine. I⊠I needed to talk to you.â
He steps inside, closing the door behind him. Thereâs a long silence, and you can feel the tension in the air. Finally, you gather the courage to speak.
âHaechan, thereâs nothing going on with Renjun,â you say softly. âI was only spending time with him because⊠I didnât want to think about how I feel about you.â
He stares at you, the anger slowly melting away, replaced by something softer. âYou like me?â he asks, his voice barely a whisper.
You nod, feeling a blush rise to your cheeks. âI do. And itâs okay if you donât feel the same, I just⊠I needed you to know.â
Haechan lets out a small, shaky laugh. âI was mad because I thought you liked Renjun. And all this time⊠Iâve been feeling the same way about you.â
The relief that washes over you is overwhelming. You both laugh, the tension finally breaking, and you feel lighter than you have in days.
âSo⊠what now?â you ask, looking up at him with a hopeful smile.
He smiles back, softer than youâve ever seen. âHow about we take things slow? I donât want to rush this.â
You agree, feeling like everything finally makes sense. And as he pulls you into a hug, you know this was worth the wait.
You relax into Haechanâs hug, feeling his warmth around you. His arms wrap tighter, like heâs scared to let go, and for a while, neither of you says anything. Itâs enough just to stand there, close, knowing everything thatâs been unsaid for so long is finally out in the open.
When he pulls back, his eyes meet yours, searching. âI was so mad at you,â he admits softly. âIt hurt watching you with him. I thought⊠I thought I wasnât good enough, or that maybe youâd moved on.â He frowns, his fingers fidgeting at his side.
You shake your head quickly, reaching out to take his hand. âI tried to move on, but it wasnât because of you. It was because I thought youâd never see me that way. I thought Iâd always just be your best friendâs little sister.â You feel a small, nervous laugh escape your lips. âTurns out I was really, really wrong.â
He lets out a breathy laugh, his grip on your hand tightening. âYou have no idea. Every time I saw you, Iâd have to act like it didnât bother me when other guys noticed you. And then Renjun? That hurt the most because heâs such a good guy. Part of me thought, if you were happy with him⊠Iâd have to be okay with it.â He bites his lip, looking almost embarrassed by his confession. âBut it drove me crazy.â
You nod, understanding completely. âRenjun⊠heâs just one of my friends now, I only want you.â
The words hang in the air, and for a moment, itâs as if the room has gotten smaller, quieter. Haechanâs eyes flicker to your lips, but he hesitates, catching himself. âIf weâre going to do this, I donât want to mess it up,â he says, almost to himself. âI want us to take things slow. No pretending, no misunderstandings.â
You nod, feeling a rush of excitement and nervousness all at once. âI want that too. I just want to know Iâm not alone in this anymore.â
âYouâre not.â He squeezes your hand, his voice full of certainty. âYouâre not alone. Weâll figure this out together.â
The two of you sit down on your couch, and he keeps your hand in his, tracing small circles on your palm with his thumb. You start talking about everything, filling each other in on all the small details youâve missed this week. He listens closely, genuinely interested, laughing when you joke and looking serious when you bring up the moments you felt hurt or ignored.
âChenleâs plan really got me,â he admits with a smirk. âI thought something happened to you, and I didnât even think twiceâI just ran here.â He pauses, his expression growing softer. âI donât ever want to go through that again. If somethingâs wrong, or if youâre feeling anything, just⊠tell me.â
You nod, a little overwhelmed by how open heâs being with you. âI promise. And you⊠you should do the same, Haechan. If I make you mad, tell me. Donât just ignore me.â
âDeal.â He looks at you with a playful glint in his eyes. âBut only if you call me Donghyuck sometimes. Youâre one of the few people who gets to.â
You laugh, the sound filling the room, and he smiles, watching you with that soft gaze that makes your heart race. âOkay, Donghyuck,â you tease, testing his real name on your tongue.
He grins, clearly pleased, then hesitates. âCan I ask you something?â
You nod, curious.
âWhat wouldâve happened if Chenleâs plan didnât work? If Iâd never come tonight?â
The thought makes you pause, feeling a pang of sadness at the idea. âI donât know,â you say honestly. âMaybe Iâd still be hiding my feelings, watching you from afar. Or maybe Iâd just move on, pretending it didnât hurt.â
âWell, Iâm glad it worked,â he says, voice low and serious. âBecause I donât want to keep watching from afar anymore.â
You nod, feeling the same way. Thereâs a sense of relief and excitement in knowing youâll go forward together. You stand to ask him a question, âdonghyuck would you like to stay the night, itâs a bit late..â
âIâd love toâ he answered confidently.

PART 10
"GHOSTS OF THE PAST"
"At first it seemed to you that it would be faster to get to the destroyed amusement park than to the "Lake", but with each step everything around you gradually began to darken, and the park itself began to move further and further away from you, until it completely disappeared into darkness. Soon you couldn't see anything but your own hands and feet.
- Damn it!... My head! How it hurts!... - you stopped abruptly, feeling a strong pressure in your temples. There was an unpleasant ringing in your ears, and you began to stagger from side to side.
-W-Where am I? How did I end up here?! It's so cold here, we need to get out of here soon!
Shivering from the cold, you were about to go into the darkness, when suddenly you heard someone crying bitterly. You looked around in fright, but there was no one nearby.
- Who's here? Come out, I won't hurt you! Honestly, honestly...
There was a deathly silence for a minute, then approaching footsteps were heard and an unfamiliar figure appeared out of the darkness. She looked like a queen's chess piece, but she was very different from the other participants you had previously seen: she didn't look creepy or scary, but rather...Is it okay? At the sight of her, you gasped and staggered back in fear. For a moment, you thought you saw a ghost in front of you...the ghost of this Circus's past.
- no...There is no way for me to enter the world of the living...-Sobbing, the figure said, wiping away tears with a hand that was wearing a white glove.
- Who are you?! You... Are you a g-g-ghost?- The Queen did not answer anything, only began to cry even louder.
- Hei ! He's coming for you!...
- Who? Who are you talking about? You stammered, unable to take your eyes off the ghostly figure.
- Caine ! He's the one who dragged you here...And if he finds you, he'll turn you into a bloodthirsty monster! We need to run, he's on our heels!...He feels where you are. This is his abode and he is the master here...
At these words, a shadow flashed behind you, blowing a gust of cold wind over your body, which made you hug yourself and tremble even more. Panic gripped you with renewed vigor; you clutched at your hair again, feeling it getting harder and harder for you to breathe every second.
Noticing this, the figure's gaze softened noticeably. Apparently, she realized that she was pushing you too hard. Kneeling in front of you, she gently touched your shoulder with her ghostly hand.
- Don't be afraid, I'll explain how to survive and escape from here...Just listen to me carefully...- her words calmed you down a little and, removing your hands from your head, you looked up at her, preparing to hear what she would say to you.
-You're going to the amusement park right now, right?- you nodded approvingly-...If you enter it, there is a high chance that you will be hunted immediately. You can hide in the surviving stalls, as well as in them you can find something to defend yourself with...
- I get it. I hide in stalls and look for weapons in them...- you repeated to yourself.
- Try to be quiet, any noise can attract the attention of monsters... Otherwise, they'll find you and give you to Caine for torture-...The figure continued...-And most importantly- if you help the participants, they will come over to your side. But keep in mind: the more participants you have on your side, the more fiercely Caine will hunt you...
- Okay, I'll do my best..Thank you... um..- you hesitated a little, not knowing how to address the mysterious figure.
- The Queenie...- smiling sadly, she said, - Call me the Queenie...
Averting her eyes, she sobbed again.
-Is there anything I can do for you, Queenie?-You asked softly, wanting to comfort her in return. The queen looked at you with tears in her eyes.
- what? Do you really want to help me?- a ray of hope flashed in her eyes - Save my soul! You have to erase the circus with all of us. If you succeed, we can finally find peace...
- "We"? Are you not alone here? Are there other ghosts in this circus? But where are they?
- They're hiding...
Realizing that now the fate of not only the living, but also the deceased people is in your hands, you got to your feet and resolutely said:
- I will definitely wipe this circus off the face of the earth and set you free! I promise!
you were already thinking of asking how to get out of this darkness, but the queen stopped you in mid-sentence.
- Wait! They've changed... They got angry at everyone and lost their minds. Now they wander around the park and look for a living body to break freeâŠ
- (Oh my God... This is still not enough ...)- it flashed through your mind.
At that time, someone whispered behind you, followed by voices and eerie laughter. The queen, clearly realizing what it was, began to hurry you up by pushing you in the back.
- Run! They're coming! They're very close! Run! Run!...And don't look back!
You didn't have to be asked twice. After taking one last look at the Queen, you took off and ran as fast as you could.
Soon you saw how the darkness around you gradually dissipated and the outlines of an amusement park appeared. But before you could even catch your breath, you heard someone's ghostly whisper. Remembering the queen's order, you hid behind one of the stalls, covering your mouth with both hands so that God forbid you would not make too much noise.
Deep down, you knew that everything that had just happened to you was nothing more than hallucinations... well, or at least that's what you hoped..."

Romantic Moonlily - as requested by @sorcave - 1615 words
Sorry, I got a bit carried away and we ended up with wolfstar as well bc I am a weak person. enjoy <3 (or don't, I can't tell you what to do :)
âHey, lilyflower,â Remus grinned, dropping onto the window seat beside Lily. She immediately leaned towards him, her head resting on his shoulder, her weight against his side. âTough Monday?â
âI hate Slughorn,â she muttered, legs kicking in the air outside the open window. âHeâs creepy and annoying! He constantly checks on my potion and acts surprised when Iâm better than most of the class.â
âAll,â Remus corrects, taking her hands in his. âSlughornâs an incapable professor anyway, he doesnât give us any instructions besides: âLupin stop stirring before your potion explodes!â.â
Lily snorted at his shoddy impersonation of Slughornâs booming voice and squeezed Remusâ hands. Her eyes drifted to the Quidditch pitch where two figures were weaving through the stands. âDo you think heâll ever forgive me?â She asked quietly.
âJames?â Remus frowned. He knew James had a crush on Lily, but he hadnât been anything but supportive since they got together.
âNo, Sirius.â
âWhy do you need to be forgiven by Sirius?â His stomach swirled with unease. Lily and Sirius were his two most favourite people and heâd hate to be caught in the middle of a row, he wouldnât be able to choose a side.
Lily shrugged, pulling her knees up to her chest and leaning slightly away from Remus. He let him arm drop from where it had come up around her waist and waited for her to speak. âHeâs just mad at me. Ever since we started dating. I donât know why, itâs not like Iâve done anything against him and you spend the same amount of time with each other as you did before.â She let out a long breath. âI donât know, it just bugs me.â
âI can talk to him if you want.â
âI donât want to get in more trouble with him.â
Remus frowned and brought his arm up around her shoulders and she fell into his side once more. âLily, youâre my girlfriend, heâs my best friend. Youâre both important to me and I want you to get along. Iâll sort this out, promise.â
*
Remus did not, in fact, sort it out.Â
On Tuesday, Lily and Remus were studying together in the Library, silently pouring over History of Magic notes and textbooks, when James and Sirius had come clattering into the Library and thrown themselves in the bench beside Lily and Remus. James leant into Remus side, reading unnecessarily over his shoulder.Â
âOoh, Vampish Rebellions through history, how intriguing.â
âItâs not,â remus sighed. âWhat do you two want?â
âWe need a prank,â Sirius announced, throwing his arms up, knocking an ink pot over that spilt onto Lilyâs carefully laid out notes. Sirius didnât seem to notice, instead launching into an animated rant about Filch and pink dye.
âSirius, apologise to Lily,â Remus cut in, watching as Lily carefully salvaged as many of her notes as she could. Unfortunately the ink had gotten anywhere. Sirius didnât seen to hear him and kept planning the prank, now involving Mrs Norris as well. âSirius,â Remus snapped, and Sirius stopped talking immediately. He glanced down at Lilyâs notes.
âSpill you ink, flower? Gonna have to be more careful than that,â Sirius smirked, turning to James to continue his prank planning, since Remus clearly wasnât interested.
âWhat the actual fuck is wrong with you?â Remus snapped when Lily abruptly stood up and left the library, her ruined notes still scattered across the table.
Sirius frowned. âWhat?â
âI cannot believe you!â Remus snarled, gathering his and Lilyâs things and hurrying after her.
*
By Wednesday, Sirius had managed to avoid all mention of Lily, even when she was standing next to Remus. It was like she didnât exist to him and it was really starting to get on Remus' nerves. It clearly got to Lily more than she let on, heâd noticed her nails had been bitten and dried blood often lined the edges.
He decided he needed to properly try.
So by Thursday night, when Sirius still had ignored Lily during a group hangout in the common room, heâd followed the other boy to their dorm. Remus waited by the door, blocking Siriusâ only exit and when Sirius emerged from the bathroom, he jumped, startled that Remus had followed him up.
âMerlin, Moony, you scared me.â
âWe need to talk,â Remus said, crossing his arms in a way that he hoped looked serious.Â
Sirius tried to act calm, but Remus noticed his face pale slightly. âWeâre talking now, arenât we?â
âWhy do you keep ignoring Lily?â Remus asked before Sirius could steer the conversation away. âFrankly, itâs quite rude and itâs getting on everyoneâs nerves.â
âIâm not ignoring her,â Sirius huffed, collapsing onto his bed. Remus stalked over so he was standing over Sirius. He was getting mad now. Sirius was acting like a child.Â
âAre you determined to make her upset? Angry? Do you want her to break up with me because my best friend canât keep his shit together?â
âNo-â
âThen what is your problem?â Remus shouted, fed up. He hated yelling at Sirius, it caused the other boy to jump every time, but he couldnât not. Sirius was being a right prick and Remus needed answers.
Sirius didnât answer right away, only turned his head away from Remus, sitting up with a slight groan. âMy problem is you, Remus,â Sirius said, quiet enough that Remus almost missed it.
âMe? Why me?â
Sirius turned to look at Remus again, only this time his eyes were clouded and distant. Remus didnât like it. He wished the shine in Siriusâ eyes would come back, he hated seeing him sad.
âYou always do that,â Sirius muttered. âAct surprised when people notice you.â
âYouâre not noticing me, youâre blaming me for something I havenât done!â Sirius didnât look at him when he stood up and crossed to the window, his arms folded over his chest, hugging his middle. âSiriusâŠâ Remus sighed and followed his friend, leaning against the wall and studying his profile. âWhatâs going on?â He asked, gently. He realised now he probably shouldnât have shouted. It was wrong, but he was desperately trying to fix something before it broke.
Sirius exhaled a long breath, eyes fixed firmly on the mountains past the Quidditch pitch. âYou. Youâre happening.â
Even more confusing, come on Pads. âCare to elaborate?â
âYou.â Sirius turned to him and gestured to Remusâ whole body. âYou and your sweaters and cardigans and books and chocolate and honey coloured eyes-â Sirius cut himself off by pressing the heels of his hands to his eyes. When he blinked them open again, Remus guessed he was seeing stars. âYou and your kindness,â Sirius continued quietly, staring hard at his feet.
âSiriusâŠdo youâŠâ Remus bit his lip, slowly understanding.Â
Sirius hadnât been mad at Lily, he was jealous of her. Sure, ignoring her wasnât the kindest thing to do, but it was so undoubtably Sirius of him. Sirius Black had a crush on Remus Lupin. Him. Swotty, uncoordinated Remus who heâd know for almost five years. Remus felt a pang of guilt for not noticing sooner. He couldâve been more sensitive. Since James was obviously smitten with Lily, he felt bad telling him about all the kind things she did, so heâd gone to Sirius instead. He should have kept it to himself. Or gone to Pete. Peter was so in love with his Hufflepuff girlfriend, Eleanor, there was no chance of him being jealous of either of them.
âI like you, Remus,â Sirius said quietly, a tear catching in his lashes. âAnd Iâm sorry.â
âDonât apologise. Iâm sorry for telling you all about Lily, I should have been more considerate.â
âSânot your fault,â Sirius mumbled, tilting his head back to stare at the ceiling, trying not to let any more tears escape. âShouldâve gotten over it.â
âWe can keep doing this, blaming ourselves, or, we can talk about what it means,â Remus said gently when he guessed the conversation was about to run in circles.
âWhatâs there to talk about? Youâre dating Lily, youâre going to fall in love-â
âSirius, stop being destructive. I like Lily, yes, maybe I love her, but that doesnât mean youâll be any less of a friend to me. Youâre still my best friend and Iâm still going to do all the things I did before. I donât care how smitten you are, Iâm still crawling into your bed after a nightmare.â
Siriusâ cheeks bloomed red slightly, but he nodded, letting his eyes fall from the ceiling and settle on Remusâ. âThank you,â he said quietly. âI think I might just stay up here for a bit.â
Remus nodded. âAlright. Just holler if you need anything, alright?â
Remus quietly closed the door and tried not to fall down their dizzyingly tight spiral stairs to the common room. Lily looked up when he walked back in, her eyes wide in question. Remus shook his head, talk later, he mouthed, crossing the room to her side. James and Peter had passed out on each other, both snoring softly. Marlene and Dorcas-who had yet to return to her common room-were curled together on the couch, having a whispered conversation involving lots of giggling. Remus resumed the game of chess with Lily, but eventually felt himself slipping into a sleepy daze. Lily notice and pulled him into her lap, her soft hands brushing through his hair. Remus let out a deep exhale and shuffled until he was comfortable on the fluffy rug.
Love you, Lilyflower, his sleepy brain mumbled, unknowing heâd said the words aloud.Â
Lilyâs hand paused in his hair for the briefest second before she bent down and pressed a gentle kiss to his temple. âLove you too, Moons.â

"Tommy broke up with me"
At the bottom of the last sip of the beer that Buck took like five minutes to finish, he finally starts to speak.Â
Eddie's internal monologue was halfway between surprised and confused, sparing a minute to decide how to react in words.Â
"By the look on your face, this one seems more permanent" He said, remembering the last time Buck told him that Tommy ditched him. He somehow can't remember much of the details of this relationship past that night.Â
"Yeah, yeah. It probably is."Â
Buck's never looked so despondent after a failed relationship before. It nearly feels like physical pain.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"No."
"Okay."
Eddie sipped his remaining beer, realising it's been a long time he had this one. It's a brand Buck loves and he used to stock it up on his grocery runs every once in a while. His fridge only has bare minimums now, with a six month old ice cream in the freezer he can't throw away. The hot priest really clocked him alright.
Buck hands him another bottle, putting him out of his trans.Â
"You wanna play video games?" The question brings back a memory threatening to tear him up, but he can take it if it means sailing buck through a bad day. When he looks at Buck though, he seems to be reminiscing the same thing.Â
"Yeah, sure. Please."
It's half past twelve when Buck starts to yawn, and Eddie takes the remote controls away despite his reluctance, whining like a child followed by some A+ puppy dog eyes. He's not sure if he picked it up from Chris, or vice versa.Â
"You know that doesn't work for Chris, and it's not gonna work for you either. You need to sleep, Buck. Your eyes are swollen enough as it is."
"Okayyy, fiiiine. I'll leave in a minute."
Eddie doesn't want him to go. He realises in the minute when Buck gets up to leave towards the door that he's missed Buck. With his head a little lighter of the guilt of hurting his child, he's able to see the retreating figure of buck more clearly. God, it has been six months and he can't remember the last he spent so much time with Buck. He was so consumed with the Christopher shaped hole in his heart, he could barely notice anything else.Â
"Buck, wait, you can stay over tonight. You're drunk, and it's late, and, well I would prefer not having to rush to your rescue at 2 in the night." He knows he's rambling, knows that Buck isn't really drunk enough given he could manage to play a game.Â
But Buck does not make any comments. Maybe he needs this as well.Â
He walks back to the bedroom to collect the 'buck' pillows from the closet (Christopher named them, specifically demanded to buy those after the shooting as he told Eddie how uncomfortably Buck used to sleep on the couch in those days.)Â
Eddie stops him in the way, takes the pillows from his hands and keeps them back on his bed. He's almost on auto pilot doing this, with no idea what to say.Â
"Eddie, it's fine. I can sleep on the couch. It's basically my fortress of solitude. Pretty sure it has a curve shaped by my butt."
"Not for six months, it has not."
Eddie does not know where that came from. Suddenly, the air is too thick, almost hard to breathe in. Buck looks back at him with a pain in his eyes that almost remind him of the Tsunami.Â
"I'm sorry. This is not the time. We will talk about it later. After the breakup has left your system."Â
"I'm sorry, Eddie. I-"
"I know. We will talk. Later. You can sleep in my bed today, before Christopher wakes up with his spidey senses in Texas asking me why I made his buck sleep on the shitty couch"
Buck smiles despite himself.Â
Eddie goes to refresh, changing into pajamas at last. Buck will use the gold material that is Eddie in undies later to its full potential. He gives Buck his own pair of nightwear, which he realises he left there long back. They both get into bed at last. Buck notices two photos on the bedstand.
One with Shannon Eddie and Christopher at the beach.Â
One with him, Eddie and Chris in front of a Christmas tree.Â
............................
It's 3 AM at night, and Buck isn't asleep. His brain is at a high drive, piling up with every small shit it can think of. And on the top of the pile is a newfounded guilt of abandoning Eddie and Christopher. And what for?Â
Eddie isn't asleep either. Truth be told, he barely sleeps these days, but it's not the usual -missinghisbeautifulchild- hours yet. Tonight he's plagued by different thoughts, trying to decide if he should acknowledge the almost evident radiative thinking of Buck just besides him. And then he hears a few muffled cries.Â
That gets him into motion.Â
He taps on bucks shoulder, the same shoulder he's held so many times over all the years they've known each other.Â
"Buck, hey," He tries to turn him to face towards himself.
"Ahh, sorry did I wake you up? I'm fine, I'm fine. Just not able to sleep." Buck says without turning.
"You don't have to pretend with me, Buck." There's an echo from three years back in Eddie's voice, one that seems to reach through to Buck. He's shaking a little now with his sobs, but still would not turn back.Â
Eddie decides to take matters into his own hands. He used to be a problem solver long back, almost another lifetime. There's not a lot of things he can fix anymore. But he knows how much it matters to be there for the people you love. The tiny patch of odd colour on his bedroom wall would tell you more.Â
He crosses the distance, and holds Buck from behind. His chin is a solid weight on Buck's shoulder. There's an almost tortuous moment of silence filled with only breathing sounds.Â
"You can cry. It's okay. I know everything else is not. But it will be. And even if it isn't okay right now, I am here. I will always be here. We are your home Buck, we will always be."Â
Eddie's voice is humming slowly through Buck's skin. He turns over and suddenly Eddie is being engulfed in six feet of the giant called Buck, who starts to weep in his arms.Â
Eddie strokes his hair slowly, murmuring sweet nothings. There are tear tracks drying on his own face he fails to notice. He's so pissed at Tommy. He doesn't even care what happened. He will take care of that tomorrow. But right now, he needs to comfort Buck.
With his heartbroken best friend in his arms, Eddie has a peaceful sleep for the first time in months, or even years. He can't really tell.Â
..............................
Buck wakes up with his feet tangled between Eddie's, Eddie's arm on his waist and their faces far too close than he can remember. He's vaguely aware that he should be panicking, should be embarrassed about something. But he's not. Buck stares at his best friend's face, notices it closely after a long time. He's disoriented from the lack of the moustache but starts to notice the dark circles, the almost evident lack of care and so, so much fatigue on his face. But still beautiful. Still Eddie. A word that should surprise Buck, but it doesn't.Â
He feels well rested, he feels at home. He's known this has been his home for a long time now. But something feels different.
He does not feel empty like he was almost twelve hours ago. He's aware that he hadn't fallen in love with Tommy yet, but it was hurting so bad just now. It doesn't hurt anymore. All the abandonment issues that came crashing down on him suddenly take a back seat. He looks at this man, who's carved out a chunk of his space, his life, his home just for Buck. He dare say his heart too, in the form of a will four years back. Buck doesn't think too hard on the why of it, couldn't even begin to wrap his head around that. He's never been brave enough.Â
But today, with the warmth of Eddie all over him, Buck knows why it does not hurt. Someone settled into this space in his life, his heart as well, long before Tommy came. Someone has been loving him long before he even realised he could be loved.Â
Eddie's had his back for seven years. Buck realises now, he also holds his heart.Â

I think another testament to how hugely they fumbled this, is that while Tommy was the one initiating the breakup, and for a stupid reason (which I don't blame Lou or Tommy for, it's just piss poor writing and planning), we're all fiercely behind Tommy and Lou.
Before now, I was a Buck girlie, but I dunno, I can't really watch now, even for him. Something is rubbing me the wrong way. (Yeah, I was irritated at Oliver at first but I think I'm pretty much over that. I think he's just doing the best with what Tim is giving him, and he just feels neutral about it all. I think if they decided to keep Tommy around, Oliver would still be happy to do that too.)
That whole entire episode just doesn't feel real, at all. Tommy was immensely out of character, I think, and it seems they're trying to take Buck back to season 5 or sometime.
I will continue to hold out a sliver of hope while the show is still on the air, but definitely not as much as I once had, and I probably won't watch until I know what they're doing. Definitely not watching live. I don't want to be blindsided like that again, and I'm not really interested in seeing the same thing repeat itself for the millionth season in a row.
I do get kind of discouraged by one of the interviews (don't remember which one) where I think Tim said he feels like Tommy basically diagnosed Buck correctly, in that everything is still feeling new and shiny and that's all it is.
And if this was the plan all along, couldn't we have gotten a better ending that was at least in character and had some type of closure?
I dunno. I know I kind of rambled but just wanted to get my thoughts out there, I guess.
This is the interview you're talking about.
And yeah, Buck is still figuring himself out, does he ultimately want to be with a man? Or a woman?
And I think that's what Tommy means. Tommy is Buck's first after coming out as bisexual and he needs to realize what that actually means for his life.
Idk if I'm making sense here lol

still relationship ranting forgive me (it's all positive, more or less?)
it's also why it is really funny to me that people constantly talk about like 'i want to be in a relationship but i don't want [one specific part]' and it's like
you can just... you can just NOT do that part, then.
you can NOT cohabitate, if you think living with someone would take away your comfort with your living situation. you can not have sex if you don't want to have sex. you can use or not use any label, you can use or not use any terms of affection, you can choose your level of consistent contact you can choose your level of physical affection you can choose whether you want to make any long-term decisions like pets or marriage or children. you can choose whether you want to be exclusive or monogamous, you can choose whether you have multiple people involved, you can choose whether you make plans now or talk it out later, you can have an ongoing, long-term conversation where you check in periodically to see if anything has changed or if you want to change something.
like! i know the cishets tell us 'you fall in love with ONE person and you will KNOW when you are in love and you will ONLY ever love them FOREVER unless you FALL OUT OF LOVE and then you will be DOOMED TO A TRAGIC BREAKUP OR CHEATING'
but like in my personal experience... it's more like.... 'you will meet someone and you will feel like you are really connected to them and you get along well and you are attracted to them. you can then either nurture that feeling by spending more time together and testing out whether your initial connection is sustainable or you can let it pass through you and simply let things go wherever they go. then you can tell them how you feel, talk about what you think you'd like or not like, decide whether you want to prioritize your relationship and your time together over other, more casual connections in your life, and try it out. and you can talk about this any time something feels off. and you're not going to fall out of love spontaneously and for no reason when you were happy before; most of the time you'll notice that there's more distance between you and you're not as close or communicative as you were previously pretty early along that path. and you can THEN decide whether you want to say 'hey let's do more things together to help us bond and feel close and open up to each other' or you can say 'i think we've probably changed in a way where we're no longer on the same page with our relationship, do you want to figure out what we both need and adjust accordingly?'
which is like. it sounds so sterile and clinical but it's actually GREAT? feelings aren't this great big overpowering beast that you cannot wrangle; love is not a thing that will just spontaneously stop one day despite your desperate desire to still feel it. the more time you spend with someone and the more you support each other, the closer you will feel. the less time you spend and the less you support each other's needs, the further you will drift. you can 100% grow that garden to your own specifications and you can simply choose not to include sex or cohabitation or monogamy or labels or WHATEVER else and it's great because it's YOUR garden.
there is no one hard definition for any relationship and there is no one specific way to have a relationship. it's literally just seeing what feels right and then describing it in whatever terms feel right.
#like idk sometimes i think i sound incomprehensible#but also i've been with one partner for 13 years now and we have changed IMMENSELY as people#and every time there were points where we didn't feel close or comfortable we just like#figured out what we needed or wanted and talked about how to do it best#and the entire reason i'm with my other partner to begin with#is that he and i have REMARKABLY similar feelings about relationships and we could have a long ongoing conversation about comfort levels-#and boundaries and what he wanted out of a relationship#and that lack of pressure let him actually feel comfortable enough with me to explore relationship aspects he had felt super uncomfortable#with previously#and also the entire conversation is STILL ONGOING and Will be In Perpetuity#there might come a time when he wants to change something or he no longer wants the same things out of a relationship!#there might come a time when he needs to pull back and can't give as much time or emotional closeness!#i don't think he has to Love Me Forever but as long as he WANTS to do this and feels GOOD doing it then#i'm enjoying myself!#and if there comes a point where he doesn't we can figure out what to do#maybe we'll just need to redefine things or maybe we'll need to change something like how much time we spend together#or maybe he'll need something from someone who isn't me or maybe he'll find#that he grows close to someone else and is more comfortable in a monogamous relationship with THEM#it's fine? it's not a worry because i trust him to tell me#i like him and i know he cares about me enough to communicate and to check in#god it's 5pm and i'm ranting again#slaps my hands off the keyboard#anyways love is actually great and good and fun and if you find a person who communicates and works well with you#then you'll figure it out together#it may take time but you'll figure it out!#loong post#long post#long tags#personal#relationships
