You knew you were overthinking; you could actually hear yourself spiraling as you chewed aggressively on your cuticles. You ran through every single interaction you and the boys had throughout the past few days and couldn’t help but come to the same conclusion every time.

They were mad at you.

And even saying it aloud made you feel silly because, really, what could you have possibly done that would have managed to upset all three of them without knowing about it?

There had been a few disagreements between the four of you since the beginning of the relationship; more specifically since you had joined the relationship. 

The boys, it seemed, went through most of their more volatile fights prior to you meeting them. 

But that didn’t mean there weren’t arguments. There were always differences of opinions, some hurt feelings, and learning everyone’s sensitivities and love languages etc. didn’t happen overnight; it took time.

One thing you were particularly thankful for was that you had yet to ever feel like the boys were ‘ganging up’ on you. Your argument always stayed between you and the participant of the conversation and everyone else opted to stay out of it unless they felt they could provide some helpful insight. 

But for all of them to be mad at you without some big blow up happening? You couldn't imagine what would have caused it.

It wouldn’t have been anything you said or done to Sirius, as he was a very head strong person who preferred to face things upfront and head on. If you had done something wrong to Sirius, you would have heard about it. 

James was a wild card since he usually wore his feelings on his sleeve, but he also had a tendency to paint a smile on his face and smile through the pain in order to keep the peace. 

Remus was often stoic and the voice of reason, but you also knew he could be incredibly sensitive.

Oh god... had you done something to upset Remus? You must have...it’s the only rational explanation. He’d likely be telling Sirius not to say anything to you, and since Sirius struggled in biting his tongue, it would make sense that he opt for the “if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all” route.

And though James did tend to smile through the pain in order to keep the peace, he was also fiercely protective of his people – particularly when those people don’t seem inclined to stand up for themselves.

Oh god. Is this why they asked you to come over tonight? They wanted to talk to you...no, they wanted to break up with you. 

By the time James opened the door, you had forgotten you even knocked. He was all bright smiles until he took in your form – he was disappointed to see you. 

“Hello, honey. Come on in.” He said, though his words were stilted, sounding oddly scripted and rehearsed. 

“Hey sweets!” Sirius called from somewhere in their flat, “have you eaten yet?”

“Yeah.” You called back, having to clear your throat when your voice came out gravelly. You could feel James’ eyes burning a hole into the side of your face.

“Moony’s running late from work, but he’ll be home soon.” James announced as he ushered you into the living room.

You scanned your surroundings, cataloguing everything like it might be your last time in here.

You found signs of Remus’ love of trinkets and the oddities everywhere you looked, as well as signs of James and Sirius feeding into that by bringing him home things they’ve found as well. There’s a small pewter fox you bought on your trip to the coast sitting on one of the shelves of his bookcase.

Picture frames lined the walls; evidence of Sirius’ love for photography, his camera, and his favourite people.

And the god-awful pillow James found at an estate sale and insisted it have a place on the couch. It was ugly, it was lumpy, it didn’t match with anything else in the space, but it was James’ and he loved it.

Sirius came bounding into the room and rubbed at James’ shoulder affectionately, pecking a quick kiss to the crown of your head in hello before breezing by to head to the kitchen.

“He just got a home a few moments ago, he’s gonna heat up some leftovers for him and for Remus when he gets home.” James explained.

“Do you want any, doll?” Sirius called.

“No, I’m okay. Thank you!” You tried your best to sound upbeat while a horrid feeling settled in your stomach.

James seemed to feel just as awkward as you did; keeping his eyes dutifully on you whilst trying to appear that he wasn’t. His leg bounced anxiously underneath him as he leaned onto the arm of the grandfather chair he sat in – across the room from you.

It may as well have been an ocean worth of distance with the way it left you feeling.

Sirius returned to the living room a few moments later and made himself comfortable on the other end of the couch from you, kicking his feet up onto the coffee table after placing a glass of water directly on the coffee table. You wanted to chide him, knowing Remus would have him by the bollocks if he saw, but you didn’t know if it was your place anymore.

Sirius asked you how your day at work was and you offered him a vague “oh it was alright. Long. How about yours?” which started him on a long tangent about some of his more colourful customers today and how tiresome he found people in general. He and James shared some quips and anecdotes about worst moments in their various retail experiences, and you thought about how much you were going to miss this.

“Okay, what is going on?” Sirius snapped abruptly, causing your head to shoot up so quickly that you heard it crack.

“Huh?” You asked sheepishly.

Sirius’ brows furrowed as he stole a glance at James before turning back to you. “You’re being weird...what’s going on with you?”

But you didn’t get a chance to answer when the sound of the front door alerted everyone to Remus’ arrival. You hated that you visibly tensed at the sound of him moving down the hall.

“Hey bubs. Is she here?” You heard him ask James, since you and Sirius couldn’t yet see him nor he you from his position in the hall way.

You felt your face scrunch up miserably and quickly brought your hands up to shield your face, choking out a silent sob.

“Yeah.” James responded, though his voice was but a whisper as Sirius added a “whoa” at the same time. 

“What did you guys do?” Remus cooed and made his way towards you having spotted your distress.

“I’m sorry.” You muttered miserably, both for whatever you’d done to cause this conflict between the four of you and also for your embarrassing display of emotions.

“What are you sorry for, dovey?” Remus asked softly as he knelt in front of you, gently taking your wrists and coaxing them away from your face. 

“For upsetting you all.”

Remus’ brows furrowed beyond their worried state and into a more confused state as he turned to look at the other two boys in bemusement. 

“Well, I don’t think any of us are happy that you’re so upset, love, but we’re not upset. You don’t have to apologize.” He pressed.

“I don’t think that’s what this is.” James input from his place across the room.

“I’m sorry. I’m not quite sure why you’re mad at me, but I’d like to talk about it with you and I promise not to do it again.” You cried, sounding disturbingly and embarrassingly close to begging.

“Mad at you? Is that why you’ve been such a weirdo tonight? You thought we were mad at you?” Sirius asked incredulously.

“Don’t call her a weirdo, Pads!” James chided, standing from his chair. 

“Why’d you think everyone was mad at you, dove?” Remus asked, ignoring the squawking of his boyfriends behind him as he forced you to hold eye contact with him.

“I... I don’t know, I guess things just felt kind of off this week and then...I don’t know.” You admitted dumbly. “And then I got here and, it just felt weird.”

“I’m sorry, angel.” James apologized, suddenly beside you having taken to sitting directly on top of (a very petulant) Sirius. “You seemed distressed and... I got nervous. Usually, Rem is the better one at handling these things, I wanted to wait until he got here to broach the subject. Sirius, though, has the tact of a bull.”

“So, you were just going to let all of us sit here awkwardly until Remus got here to save the day, huh? Not on my fucking watch.” Sirius groaned as he positioned himself to kick James not only off of him, but off the couch completely. This caused Sirius’ glass of water to topple off the coffee table and onto the rug below it.

“Nice going, Prongs,” Sirius spat victoriously from his place on the couch, “look at the mess you’ve made.”

“It wasn’t even my cup!” James defended.

“Don’t think I didn’t notice that wasn’t on a fuckin' coaster, Sirius.” Remus reproached darkly, tossing the dark-haired boy a glare over his shoulder.

Sirius just smirked and then winked at you. “There you go, dollface, now everyone’s mad at me instead.”

“Awe, Pads!” James cooed from the ground before launching himself back onto Sirius. “Look at you, taking the heat off our pretty girl.”

Remus shook his head in exhaustion, but you could see a fond smile ghosting his lips from his place before you.

“Trust me, dove. You’re the least of our problems.”

You chuckled wetly and wiped the tears (and more embarrassingly, the snot) from your face. “I’m sorry. I feel rather silly now.”

Sirius, having given up on his instance to be the little spoon between he and James, looked around James’ broad frame in his lap to face you. “How about this; if we’re ever upset with you, we promise to tell you. If we haven’t said anything; it’s safe to assume we’re not mad. Okay?”

You nodded in agreement.

“And...” James continued. “Next time you find yourself feeling like this, maybe you can tell us, too?”

You nodded emphatically. “Yes, I promise. I’m sorry.”

Remus kissed the backs of both of your hands and stood from his knelt position in front of you.

“No more sorry’s, dove. We’re all good.”

James stood from Sirius’ lap to place a warm kiss to the space between your cheek and ear and whispered another apology for your being upset.

“Hey, Moons?” Sirius called.

“Yeah?”

“Are you heading to the kitchen?” He called with the sort of smirk that caused you and James to exchange a suspicious look.

“Yeah.”

“Can you grab me a glass of water, please?”

“Fuckin’ hell Sirius get off your arse. And use a sodding coaster.” Remus bellowed from the bedroom.

“See? You’re the least of our problems.” James repeated, stamping another kiss to your cheek.

I know I've posted bingqiu actors au before but I'm having thoughts for another one..

Shen Yuan only occasionally acts in things he's interested in.. he'll be like "oh I like this book, they better not butcher it!" and then because his family is rich, he'll get a role. People who have never worked with him before hate him at first bc he's a nepotism baby, but then they see his passion and acting skills and go "Oh nvm, he's actually really good... he didn't have to audition like everyone else because he has connections, but if he had auditioned, we would have picked him regardless."

Then there's young binghe playing a minor character.. he's not an actor, nor does he want to be, but child labour laws say he can't get a regular job and he wants to help provide for his mom.. a 14 year old can't work at a fast food place, but movies do need real children to act in them, so that was the only option he had

Shen Yuan is 19 at this point and binghe ADORES him. He brings him food he made at home and shyly waits with bated breath for Yuan gege to say it's good. Shen Yuan helps him with his homework when neither of them are in a scene, and whenever binghe acts really well and the director praises him, he ignores everyone to run to shen yuan and ask if he did well.

When production nears its end binghe says he wants to keep working with Yuan ge!! Shen Yuan isn't working on any other projects though, and the ones he is working on won't hire Binghe.

Everyone is impressed enough with Binghe to help him stay in the industry though, and get him another minor role, then another, then a somewhat important role, then a co-lead... by the time he's in his early twenties, binghe is a household name, and shen yuan is "that actor most people will recognize but don't remember from where."

By the time they finally work together again it's like

Binghe: Yuan gege!!!! I'm so excited to work with you again!!!!

Shen Yuan: haha you remember me! I'm happy :)

Binghe, who borderline stalks shen yuan: haha yes of course I remember gege :))

Shen yuan still gives him head pats like when binghe was a kid and binghe still clings to him. One time shen Yuan gently pushes Binghe away after a tight hug that's gone on too long and says "okay okay that's enough" and binghe looks CRUSHED so shen yuan feels like the devil and pulls him back into a hug immediately

The movie comes out and it's very well received. Binghes acting was the best it's ever been (since he wanted to show off in front of Yuan gege) so people are very interested in seeing the behind the scenes footage

When it comes out people see binghe being OBSESSED with shen yuan. Whenever the two of them are in the same frame, binghe is looking at shen yuan with the softest most loving expression while shen yuan is yelling at the script writer about fan service. There's about 10 moments when Binghe comes up from behind and grabs shen yuans waist and sets his head down on shen yuans shoulder. When people see binghe saying "gege open wide, I made this just for you!" And hand feeding shen yuan they're like okay yeah there's no denying it anymore.

Then they find out this isn't their first time working together and find old bts footage of when binghe was 14 and following shen yuan around like a puppy with hearts in his eyes and they go holy fuck he's been obsessed with shen yuan for YEARS

The cast all go to an interview

Interviewer: people were surprised to see how close you two are!

Shen Yuan: well it's not our first time working together :)

Binghe: I've been waiting to work with Yuan ge again for all this time :D

Interviewer: aww! Now about rumors saying Luo Binghe is in love with shen Yuan...

Shen Yuan: obviously they're-

Binghe: true

Interviewer: ..... oh my

Shen Yuan: um...?

Binghe: Yuan ge is very well aware of my feelings, I was very obvious

Some thoughts on the 40 years friendship anniversary Ear Biscuit

Regarding the moment when Rhett makes some fun at the shippers who ship them for moments such as the look they shared when they were kissing their girlfriends... I will say that by saying "As we have proven, we do not mind feeding into your theories", that's a double edged sword. Technically it is neither negation nor confirmation of anything - it is observation of something that can't be overlooked anymore like what they are doing with Wonderhole, while however refusing to take it seriously. It reminds me one of the last ambiguous jokes Rhett had cracked against the shippers, like a year ago or so, when he had said "PERHAPS YOU ARE RIGHT, OKAY" I don't remember it exactly, he had claimed the shipping conviction was so overwhelming that he was almost getting confused what the truth was and perhaps "we were right". Pity he doesn't clarify whether he means only the intentional scripted content or candid stuff that has at times slipped out of his control, like that eye contact. As an oldie, I remember how he has been always telling that story and it was that he opened his eyes to see that Link was already staring at him. He felt uncomfortable so he turned to the other side. He consistently finds it hilarious for years whereas Link always defends himself apologetically and shyly by saying "he was trying to check with Rhett if he was doing it right". So it wasn't exactly the "momentary glance of mutual hetero approval" they went for this time. But, if Rhett really finds it that hilarious, then it might as well have been an accidental eye contact and it taking large dimensions with the shippers may seem particularly amusing to him. However, it is him who brings it back again and again over the years, apparently the momentary glance has left such an impression (of amusement).

Rhett totally deflects when Link claims he had scolded him for how intimate he was getting with his girlfriends.

Marriage bathtub rum episode mentioned again

Link about the first days in college: "For me, going off to college, together, moving into that dorm room, I just remember the feeling of the first week and that we had each other at a point where we were completely on our own. And I remember being scared shitless in a lot of ways after that first week. It's like, wow, this is a different level of freedom. I feel like the net's gone, but we had each other and we had an identity to everyone else of having each other. "

It was sort of bittersweet to see that Link, who comes off as a pretty intense person, seems to have maintained a subdued attitude throughout most of his friendship with Rhett. Based on the things he said, this was sort of a survival mechanism to ensure he would remain Rhett's friend at all costs. He admitted that he wasn't all that crazy about the ministry and he was sort of following along, motivated by the consoling thought that since Rhett was taking him along, then that meant he was appreciating him for his skills, his abilties, his talent and who he was. Same thing with their career actually, Link basically admitted that he is not invested to the degree Rhett is (Rhett lowkey looked like he was given a small slap there) but it's about sticking to this promise of making it work out together. Even one of the first times Rhett confessed he considered giving up on the church during the great roadtrip across America and even though Link had been on a parallel similar journey, Link did not voice his own spiritual concerns and doubts but instead remained a silent "shoulder" for Rhett to “cry on” because he reasoned (maybe it felt safer this way) that surely Rhett was going through a phase and he would return to his traditional, religious self. And if Link was quick to abandon faith too and then Rhett regretted it then they would grew apart. But he was also fearing that if he remained religious and Rhett adhered to his choice to leave the church then they would also grow distant. So he chose to do all the listening, waiting for Rhett to take the final decision. (And then of course we know Link reached his limit with the plexi-glass kiss and suddently decided to turn their world upside down but this is not for this post ok). However, this just shows again and again how almost everything in Link's world revolves around Rhett, it's incredible how dedicated he is in his love for him. Link is a stunning guy, he was a good student, he could have done anything and be with anyone but he made this choice to devote himself to that guy completely and just went with it. It's just amazing. If we take into account what Link had said in his deconstruction, he had always had way more doubts, since an early age, but he was determined to act as pious as Rhett, if not more and even remain pious when Rhett was having his doubts out of his fierce persistence that this was ultimately the way to be accepted by Rhett.

Thank goodness they gave us a rough timeline of Link's "breakup" mail to Rhett and Rhett's delayed apology, because based on the dynamics we were observing in their content we could have been able to tell by ourselves! If the email was sent around the GMM 22 format or a little prior to it, it is not a surprise at all. This was the time a lot of the fans, even shippers, were speculating that something seemed off between them, that they weren’t real friends anymore, that they always seemed angry at each other. It was around that time that Link was being vocal about how Rhett didn’t open up about his emotions to him and at the time Rhett indeed looked very uncomfortable with it.

Let me tell you though, they were not telling the entire story. There was another thing that was happening at the time and they mentioned it once or twice in the Ear Biscuits of that period but then I don't remember if they ever mentioned it again. Along with the insane amount of work they were involved with at the time that would have made just about anyone neglect their personal relationships, it was around that time or a little earlier that they imposed rules on their friendship. They had said in EBs that their work and their friendship was taking up too much space from their families and other aspects of their lives so they freaking came up with rules to regulate their friendship. The examples they mentioned to explain this were VERY interesting: it was forbidden to communicate during vacation and if they both went to NC to their parents during the holidays they should not meet up. Even more insanely specifically, if they happened to cross ways in a supermarket aisle for example, the rule was to not acknowledge each other and just look the other way!!!!!!!!!!!! They also had rules for physical touches, Link characteristically said: "If you helped me with my belt, alarms went immediately off in my mind. Oh, why are you helping me put my belt? You don't usually help me put my belt!". Really, is it my fault to say that none of this shit is indicative of a platonic friendship? They never talked about it again. Perhaps they understood they shared too much. A few months or about a year after this was happening and shortly after the crazy work schedule, they made an EB announcing that they were now doing the exact opposite, meaning they would actively try to find more quality time for their friendship outside work. Now, we can tell that this choice was made probably after Link had sent the email to Rhett because clearly those rules he had initially agreed upon were tormenting him. My point is, their friendship wasn't threatened only as a natural consequence of their hectic work schedule but by their choices too.

I am sorry if I am the broken record but this is compatible with this recurring theme in the One Story, where Link is in trouble, Rhett saves him only to fall in trouble even harder. In the Digging a Hole video, Rhett says how he thought "Link was losing control in his enjoyment of the hole digging" that he had to step up. Rhett started this as a controlled, secret situationship and when Link started getting way too immersed in it, Rhett shat himself, fearing Link was risking their careers, their families, everything they had built. So they came up with rules and filled their time with work, work, work to control what was happening between them. Link tried but in the process he felt that besides everything they were trying to control, they were also losing their foundations, their original pure friendship. So, for such a passionate friend (or a man insanely in love, if you will) to feel that he and his lifelong best friend had turned into strangers, into working robots to strip all the emotions from their relationship, he thought "you know, if we are not even gonna be friends like we always were, I don't want any of this at all". Once again, I am amazed at the genuiness of his sentiment. He has fame, he has a lot of money, we know he is frugal and yet he was willing to give it all up, to start from scratch, to reinvent himself on his own, in order to not suffer through a possible slow alienation with Rhett. (I mean he still was ready to be swayed by Rhett with the bare minimum though lol)

To Rhett's credit, like they said, even if he's not one for words, he was at his door the next day like "what was that shit about alienation you're talking about?!". History has shown after all that no matter how bad he is with words, how emotionally constipated, how work obsessed, how supportive of the idea to keep this a secret situationship, how fearful their relationship will likely destroy their careers and a lot of their bonds with other people, how vulnerable to people's opinions, so far time tells he is choosing Link over everything else, even at the prospect of disaster. And channeling all this anxiety and concern but also the choice he has made to his art has become his new passion, because this is how his mind works, this is how he expresses himself, his feelings, his love.

Rhett reread the email during the quarantine which also makes total sense! We have all discussed Rhett's notorious neediness at the time of the pandemic. I like to say he was climbing the walls at the time because he really did. Even in their zoom GMMs, he was protesting to Link because they were not meeting, he was like "I am healthy, you are healthy, LET'S MEET I BEG YOU I AM LOSING MY MIND PLEASE". This was an average GMM and EB at the time, remember? I believe this sudden unexpected distance was what really sealed the deal for Rhett, he thought things over and over. It's true, he did take Link for granted because Link was always by his side, he never missed him. But this time, Link had devoted himself to Christy who was coping very badly with the Coronavirus panic and he wasn't meeting with him, he had become aloof and Rhett was getting increasingly emotionally and physically frustrated and at this point he probably understood what it feels to not have Link for granted or what it felt for Link to feel emotionally neglected in their relationship.

Link was a little... happy when Rhett admitted their relationships to girls were shallow. He's laughing nervously for almost 20 seconds.. but it is adorable. I love this laugh of his, the heheHEheHEheheHEHEhehe, reminds me of the "I hit you in the funny bone" moment in GMM :)))

ULTIMATE Realistic Family Gameplay Guide

Hello, everyone. I ran a poll on my channel for you all to decide on which realism guide you'd like to see next and Family Gameplay won. While I'm aware there are hundreds of family gameplay guides out there, and you'll probably have most of these mods already installed, what I think I can offer different are fixes to the EA code, and expansions on gameplay mechanics already included in the game, as well as a masterlist that has been extensively playtested for the last 6-7 years (still testing the newer mods though!). These mods have been run through Delphy's Dashboard, and have even caught conflicts and corrected that Delphy's couldn't catch.

We will break this guide down in simpler sections.

Children can series.

XML's, Tweaks, Tunings (Non-scripts). Special section for fixes.

Scripts and scripted objects.

This guide is also aimed at overall family play. I do not just think of new interactions for babies, toddlers, children, and teens. I also consider the parents. I've included mods for parents in different roleplay scenarios, as well as, single adults looking to create a family, so we will focus on some mods that can promote the family before the family is made.

I will also included a personal recommended list of lots you'd want to include in any world you play in for an ultimate family play experience.

Now that that's out of the way:

This can be followed alongside the youtube guide, we've got a lot of mods to get through so let's jump straight into it.

Children Can Series:

We will start with the most intricate install process. There are many children can mods. And many mods that conflict with each other. I caught all of them through Delphy's Dashboard, so you will only install the mods highlighted in this guide for the most optimal and conflict free experience. These mods are self explanatory but I'm going to explain why you want them at the end of this section.

All of these mods enable features already in the game that children were unable to do. Each of these small mods brings back playability with children in very big ways. This also makes children much more independent so you won't always need an adult or teen around to take care of them. For example, children can now order pizza on the phone, or microwave food, instead of needing adults to always cook for them. You can roleplay more chores with children by allowing them to do laundry, this can also be roleplayed in a scenario where a parent isn't very consistent and the child has to be. This could create amazing stories for your gameplay. Without these mods, playing with children feels so much more restrictive. They feel like cute dolls you just send to school and forget about for a couple of hours. Allowing them more agency and free will for my gameplay allowed me to immerse myself more in their child years.

We are now going to focus on XML's, tweaks, and Tunings. These are all non scripts. This is also where I will include fixes. These are very lightweight mods that change what is already in the game and do not create gameplay lag.

Adoption Costs 5 k - I made adoption more expansive because I wanted to be able to feel this decision in game. Adoption isn't neccassarily free in real life. Between the paperwork, meetings, travel, and transitioning the children into your life this can obviously be very expensive. So this mod helps me roleplay this aspect of real life.

Arcade claw machine tweaks - Family fun center version. Arcades are extremely important for my family playthrough's, as it's one of the lots where I can put plenty of interactive objects for all ages. Including a little playpen for toddlers, that won't be out of place. This can also double as a traditional birthday party lot, with closed off rooms. From time to time I like to bring my families to these lots when I want them all to get out of the house together. So with this mod, it tweaks the prizes you can win from the claw machines, increasing your chances of winning a ton more stuff.

5% chance of teen mood swings - Makes the mood swings feel a lot more impactful when they happen instead of every other day. This is especially helpful for those who play on longer lifespans.

Skates - all enabled for pregnancy - does just as it says, pregnant sims should be allowed to have a little more fun.

No blowhorns noisemakers at Age ups - It's just annoying and buggy, so removing it altogether optimizes age transitions. This also makes the event seem a bit more realistic, while everyone just cheers and laughs instead.

Toddler's can turn off stereo - Combined with my NRAAS GoHere settings, which allows for inactive daycares to be possible, sometimes when a daycare staff puts your sims down to sleep, they won't turn off the stereo so you as the toddler will have to autonomously do it so they can peacefully take their nap.

Boarding school is expensive - Again, this is so the decision feels a lot more impactful in game. This can also be roleplayed as sending your child to private school when in a wealthy family, so the prices also make more sense for this.

Maid Costs 200 - As the title says maids will be slightly more expensive, this adds up everyday, and is for the purpose of this decision feeling more impactful. It didn't make sense for my poorer families to be able to afford a maid so this is a mod catered more towards upper middle class to wealthy families. I also combine maids with a butler as well, to give a more regal feel to the wealth your sims have obtained.

No Graduation - This is optional, if you use UC mod. This eliminates the graduation ceremony altogether, for those like myself who like to roleplay this event in game instead. By simply throwing a party on a fancy lot with formal attire.

Not just teens can prank call - Just made more sense to have this option available for everyone.

Student Services Booth mod unlocked - This can be used on High school lots as well. Especially when you turn on Summer Vacations, and send kids back to school the first day of Fall. Also, for roleplay Uni scouting events, so sim families can have a more immersive experience of browsing possible universities sims can be sent to.

More Festival Ticket Rewards - BG, SN, UNI version. Just like the claw machine this adds more rewards to win on festival lots. Makes working for the tickets more impactful.

No Auto tell ghost stories - This interaction has always annoyed me as it happens anywhere at any time. I like to plan activities almost like an itinerary when sending my sims to do longer events like vacations or simple camping trips in their homeworld. So specifically for camping, telling a ghost story with the family is a very fun activity to do at night before everyone goes to sleep around a campfire. It is where this interaction makes the most sense for me to use and leaves me excited to actually use it.

Studying is easier - I always thought the study rates of performance were super unbalanced. As I don't have sims study often when in Unni unless it makes sense for their character. And so this leaves an incentive to actually study during their free time outside of class as it brings more of a reward when it is done. However, the default rates of studying was too slow and easily took up all of my sims days. So I wanted to be able to study and be rewarded for that, while also having more time in my sims days to do things. So now I can study less often, throughout the week without the stress. I am including this in the family gameplay guide because your teens can actually study together in your homeworld which doesn't do anything for their school performance but does a lot of roleplaying study groups, since I have a homework mod that only takes 15 minutes to complete.

TwoFT Mama -

Auto Potty Training - does just as it says, this mostly helps townies, but for active households to do this on their own leaves you as the player feeling more immersed.

Better grades - Lowers the grade requirements making school a little easier. This is so while playing with UC it leaves teens and children more time to interact with each other outside of working on interactive objects.

Faster homework minutes - Reduces homework times to 15 minutes, saves up much more time in my child and teen sims days.

Fixes:

This is a smaller section for the non scripts, where I consider these mods to be complete fixes to existing EA gameplay that all the patch updates missed.

Auto Romance YA-Elder Propose going steady - This is a lightweight alternative to the NPC Romance script mod by YolkSims. While the mod was completely rebuilt from the ground up to be much more optimized, I went on a journey to find replacements to my current scripts folder that delivered what I was looking for. I found this mod. While this can go all the way up into Getting divorced. I stopped at going steady because with the Supreme AI mod sims can autonomously break up if they aren't on the best terms. This may also include divorcing, but so far it hasn't been too intrusive. Combined with the simler90 mod which includes attraction fixes, this makes romance a lot more fluid, performance friendly, autonomous, chaotic, but also predictable, aids in roleplaying, and is overall a great fix for townies and creating families with active households.

Read to sleep fix - A patch broke this interaction, so Danjaley fixes it. Without realizing it, you have another immersive gameplay mechanic for toddlers in the game. This interaction is very cute and I wouldn't believe it wasn't a mod, so I'm very happy this interaction was fixed.

Midlife Crisis Always - Adult life stages can be quite boring and monotonous. I play lifespans so long that when this event happens it's like a milestone for me. I think of it as a mini game, and try to fix everything that happens afterwards once my sim comes to their senses.

MissPat Better Playdates - Just as you may have saw in my Supreme AI playtest video, Townies will autonomously call and ask for playdates if both families have children and younger in their household. This was an EA feature, but it also got broken. This makes interacting with other families more immersive, and making children and toddlers friends much more realistic and natural in the game. For those who like to roleplay life long best friends in the game, especially.

Birthday Cakes don't catch fire - These fires are annoying and I use other mods that can cause chaotic fires randomly but REASONABLY in game.

No Curfew period - This is the only curfew remover mod that doesn't break changing clothes and dresser interactions in my game. I always thought the curfew mechanic in the game was a bit too much. Police officers wouldn't know where every single child or teen was at in the world. And sometimes, I like to take my teen and child sims out late for family events, teens on late dates, etc. With curfews enabled, police would still arrest them and bring them home, even though the parents were with them, then would have to wait for the parent to get all the way back home just to yell at them for being out late. This obviously made no sense. Combined with a punishment scripts mod, I can user direct punishments for things like this instead for a much more roleplaying and immersive experience.

Teens can take unpaid days off - This mod also made more sense and should've been included in EA features. Teens call off from work, and quite often might I add. So it helps me roleplay a more realistic teen lifestyle in game.

Now for the Final section we are going to focus on Scripts. Scripts typically do not conflict with each other but for this list some of them did. The compatibility patches and versions have been included so you don't have to worry. This is where most of you will probably already have these mods, but hopefully I introduce you to some bangers you never heard of before.

We are going to go by creator and then from A-Z for the misc scripts.

Arsil

Do Homework With - Adds the ability to do your homework with other sims the same age as your children and teens. This can make study groups more immersive, as getting homework done together will actually improve school performance the next day, but can be doubled with the UNI study together interaction the roleplay a longer study session period. These can be done in the home or the Library, which allows me to get more usage out of my Library lots and make a Kid/Teen section which is always fun.

Toddler Extra Activities - Adds a bunch of cute new interactions that toddlers can do like playing in puddles, mud, sand, eating snow, dancing, and even drawing on the walls if they have crayons in their inventory.

Arsil Futons - This is for more eastern themed family plays, but you can alternatively use these if you have a poor sim in the big city who can't even afford a bed. I typically transmogrify deco beds on the floor into this script object in game, you get a lot of creative and really fun gameplay out of this. But I wanted to toss this in here for my eastern simmers, if you don't already know about this, or you'd like to play an Asian household and make your gameplay a little more realistic. I'm definitely excited to rebuild my Korean themed Uni world I had before with these beds!

Arsil Napping Mats - These work exactly like the futons except for toddlers. It's honestly so cute. Outside of the crib and Olomaya's toddler beds, this is just another super cute way for Toddler's to fall asleep. The crib always seemed way too overbearing, and for those who roleplay toddlers aging but not yet into children, these other various options would serve you a lot better. Now for these mats specifically, I typically like using them in my inactive Daycare lots, but from time to time I'll use them in my active household's living rooms or play room, just in case I don't always feel like bringing the Toddler to another floor to fall asleep.

Arsil Low Dinner Table - Another really awesome mod for those who want to be able to roleplay better with eastern households. I always have so much fun with these tables and chairs, I've even converted some myself. One of my favorite general things to do is set the chair up in front of a TV and direct my sims to play video games. So they will be sitting on the floor and playing video games and it always looks super cute, so much nostalgia!

Arsil Limbo Mod - For the same reason I removed the autonomous ghost telling interaction, is why I use this limbo mod. Another activity for sims to do at various different parties. It's one of my favorite little events to host during a birthday party. It's seriously so cute!

FloTheory

Pay For This - Adds a mechanic where every time you change your baby and toddler diapers and give them a bottle of milk you will be charged 5 simoleons. It's such an awesome addition because when you think about it, diapers and milk should add up in real life. However, combined with the other mods in this guide, if you change their diapers and give them a bath using the store object, or give them a bath using The Sweet Simmer's mod, you won't pay for anything then. Which makes sense, sometimes you can roleplay already having diapers in supply. As well as Olomaya's toddler snacks and meals, you would shop for groceries and make the toddler whatever you have available in your fridge, but actually feeding the child those meals won't cost 5 simoleans because you already paid for the ingredients. So this interaction fixes the lack of realism with EA's diaper and bottle interaction. I find myself using all 3 mods at random, and it's always so fun.

Wedding Inactives - Adds the ability to have two sims in a relationship that your sims are friends with, to get engaged, and you can set their wedding party as well. This can give romantic stories with townies more user control. Since we are using tuning mods to make romance more autonomous, and stopped at going steady, eventually SP will push those sims to get married, but you can not only speed things up whenever you'd like, but you can also attend their wedding in the same way they attended yours! This gives the user another way to experience going to a party instead of hosting one like LN introduced. Idk about you guys but I love also feeling like a townie/NPC sometimes, it immerses me much further into my gameplay!

Weight Gain - Adds a random percentage of weight gain for pregnant sims during and after they give birth. Women's bodies are absolutley beautiful especially after giving birth, I always hear about those mommy curves that finally come in for so many women, while you can choose to go to the gym and work this mommy weight off, I imagine myself keeping it probably for most of my playthrough's. It's just always made sense that this should happen, our bodies can change forever after giving birth and so I'd like to roleplay that kind of wholesome realism in game, too.

GameFreak

Advice interaction - Adds a new social interaction with custom moodlets when you can ask for and give advice. There are several different kinds of advice you can give, with many random prompts, and a reasonably timed moodlet that you'll get after the interaction. While this can be applied to general gameplay mods, I'm including this in the family gameplay because there are just way too many roleplay oppurtunities you can have with this one. Siblings or parents giving romantic, career, etc advice. Friends, lovers, maybe a lover asking for romantic advice on how to sweep your sim off their feet? It adds a lot more roleplaying elements that can really help you the player put a story together. I've always had a gameplay style where I generally know what I'd like to happen but I go with the gameplay and can change the plot at will, so the gameplay has to reflect many more possibilities.

Smartphone Dating - Is a smaller mod that just adds the dating app from the computer onto your phone. I personally love to roleplay like this is Tinder for my sims. I always felt the dating app should also be available on sims phones like in real life, and it gives us some things to do when out and about or bored at home!

JunJay

Everyone Clip coupons - This, again, should've been available in the game already, it can be quite fun to shop smarter, even if you aren't poor per say but money is getting kind of tight. I know large families that do pretty well still love using coupons so I've included this mod.

Online Center - Adds a brand new scripting interaction to the PC which makes so much more sense. You can shop online for groceries, books, pets, relics, bots, consignment, potions, etc. You can check weekly events, which means you can disable the newspaper and still get those benefits. Read E-sim news. And probably my favorite, there is a new Simbook (Facebook) feature! Your sim will basically scan their timeline and comment on other townies simbook's, and you'll actually get slight relationship increases with random sims you already know, and you can even meet sims you haven't met already through this feature as well.

Study Skills Online - Adds another interaction to the online center where you can study any and all skills. Instead of having to go out and buy the things you can study them for free right from your pc at home. I typically use this interaction for my teen sims to improve their basic school skills as an extra layer of work for them to do for school. Outside of studying, creating books titled their class projects and etc.

Potty Training - Adds a new interaction for toddlers to play in the toilet and use it instead of always using their potty training potty.

Independence GoHere Compatible - Adds the ability for toddler's to use stairs! Always exciting! But you'll have to keep an eye on those little rascals a bit more, which is always more realistic!

Mintbeehry

Mint Makeup - Adds a new interaction for children and toddler's to play with makeup. And some very silly makeup masks that will go over the kid's face when done. I used to play with my mom's makeup all the time so it brings back memories for me, I think it's a super cute interaction for you to experience with your sims families!

Fidget Spinner - Adds an interactive fidget spinner object that can go into your sims inventory and taken out and be played with for a couple seconds. I think these are super cute for kids to win at festivals and arcade lots so I included it as it can be combined with savvier seller mod to actually shop for it on these lots.

MonocoDoll

Remove Shoes - Another really great eastern culture gameplay mechanic or just for your more cleanly families with a mud room. Either way, you'll have plenty of fun with this mod installed for realism.

Government assistance - Adds just what it states for your sims. EBT, health insurance, Child support. It's super realistic and adds so much more depth and mechanic to your gameplay. You'll actually be able to roleplay your poor families without having to get creative. Make a side chick a baby mama to a wealthy sim who cheated on his wife, etc. Tell some crazy stories, this mod will certainly help you with all of those scenarios.

Olomaya

Hang out, Children and teens - Adds an interaction where children and teens sims will sit down on the ground and talk, laugh, etc. It increases their relationships, and can be quite a large group. I used to have the all ages version, but I think seeing teens and kids sit on the floor faired out much better in my gameplay than seeing adults. Pick which ever version you'd like, though.

Toddler Bed - Adds a functional single bed for toddlers to the game! I've planned to convert many sims 4 toddlers beds using this scripted object so we have some more variety, but for now the options available for it are so adorable. It's got one bug, where you can only enter the bed from the left side I believe, but other than that it's a much needed mod for more realism, especially for those toddlers that just turn 3 and 4 in your game.

Activity Table - Adds a crafting option, and serve snack option to the activity table. The crafting increases the painting skills but uses glitter as a prop instead. For toddler's and children, so they can both play and eat snacks at the table!

Coloring Book - Adds functional coloring books that are portable!

Smoking - Fixes Cmoney's smoking mod, optimizes the scripts, fixes the animations, adds a sitting animation, moodlets work much better, adds new custom moodlets. Also adds a vape. But most excited, this adds the ability for teens to buy fake ID's for tobacco products. I also use the fake ID's to roleplay my teen sims getting into bars and clubs. As they can actually order from the bar, I like to imagine they were able to slip passed security.

Student council - Adds a really fun almost mini-game interaction to a new student council option for teens in high school. And a new interactive board. It may not be everyone's flavor but it makes highschools a little more interactive outside of UC. See also PheobeJay's cheerleading mod for another interactive mechanic for teens and YA in UNI!

So obviously all of these mods MASSIVELY Overhaul family gameplay with babies, toddlers, and children in the game. Not only does it fix EA mechanics, but it also compliments and expands existing mechanics, and then adds even more. You'll probably never go back to regular family gameplay again after these mods. You might only have a couple so consider getting all of these mods listed above!

Twinsimming

Acne Mod - Adds acne to the game, and can randomly have break outs. This suits this theme mods list as puberty can be quite strange. This also effects adults though, and adults still get acne. I mean not me really but y'all be easy.

Dirty Laundry - Again, I think cleaning and have a family just goes hand in hand. This mod adds more custom moodlets the longer you go without washing your clothes. It's how it should've been in the game, to really incentivize you to get that laundry done.

Growing Pains - Is a great addition to family play. Whenever anything significant sad or angry happens to children and teens they will go through a time in their life that will deeply affect them (almost traumatize them in a way). Divorce and breakups, etc. It makes what story you tell with those sims more impactful on their lives.

New Scholarships - Adds new scholarships to the game, I also consider UNI to be an integrated part of Family life in the Sims 3. I love going off to Uni with my sims I watched grow up since birth. This mod just adds more ways they could get in to those Universities.

Tooth Fairy - Is a cute little mod that adds a tooth losing mechanic, it feels like it always should've been there. With custom moodlets that will make you know your kid sim is growing up.

Now we are going to move onto misc Family gameplay mods, these are from various creators where I don't have more than one of their mods installed!

All Adults carry - This is a mod that allows all adults to carry children. It was originally a feature in the sims 3 with the firefighter career, but Puddingface made it possible for all adults to pick up and carry kids. This adds another roleplay element, as sometimes I like to direct my parents to carry their rowdy kids to bed if they aren't listening and staying asleep.

Clean House for Everyone - This mod just makes the ability to clean the house for everyone. Originally this mechanic was only avilable for neat sims, but I find I have neat sims without the trait, and slobby sims who eventually wake up and want to get their house together. So it's a pretty convenient mod. The sims will autonomously be directed to every dirty object in the lot and clean it all up. This is pretty useful for those larger family homes who can't afford a maid or a butler or can, and you don't want to sacrifice a trait slot just to be able to clean your house.

Cherry Toddler interactions - This is another script mod that adds some pretty fun interactions into the game that combined with all the other scripted toddler interactions makes the game an abundance of choices you can do more with toddlers. Things like talking with another toddler, exploring around, having a bottle to themselves, and even eating pet food from their bowl.

Ferris Wheel - This adds a new scripted object ferris wheel, you can actually ride it. Combined with all the other store content geared towards festival lots (roller coaster, carousel) this is another really fun object for your family's to go crazy on in game. It adds a custom moodlet once you've finished and it's super cute.

Icarus Scolding - This adds a new scripted mechanic where you can user direct punishments to your child and teen sims now. This is what I meant earlier with the removal of the curfew mod. If you still want to catch your teens sneaking out it can actually make more sense. Now you can do all sorts of things for your stories and gameplay. Kid didn't clean up their room like you asked? Send them to the wall. Not doing their homework? Ground them from all electronics. You get it.

Lyralei Journal - Not quite like the other journal mod, your sims won't actually write anything to publish like with buzz's notebook mod. But they will get custom moodlets after writing a passage. I like to roleplay this as a diary for my sims and also sometimes extra homework for other classes they take. You'll get random whimsical prompts after they finish writing and you can only imagine what triggered that response from your sims (it's random so get creative). You can also hide the journal, and a new interaction where a sim can ask what you wrote. It's very cute and certainly worth the install.

Fairy Tale Books - adds more fairytale books to the game. Classic ones from real life. They are classified as children's books so you can read them to your kids at night. Makes a more relatable childhood experience for us simmers out there!

Mingos Option b - This adds basically an abortion pill to the game. You take it after suspecting your sim of being pregnant. While you can get an abortion for the enhanced hospitals mod this mod adds a CVS like experience where you can buy the pills from the grocery stores yourself or pretending you got a prescription to terminate a pregnancy. So it makes 2 ways you can get an abortion in game. I'm aware that some more mods that will eventually do this are currently being developed for the game, so this one might not stay in my mods folder after extensively reading through those future mods if or when it includes them. But for now, I think it's a great realistic addition for your gameplay.

Nona Breastfeed Baby - Adds the ability to breastfeed the baby. That's all. It's really cute and realistic, it's an older mod so you might not have heard of it.

I know I've already included a Lyralei mod but the Randomizer mod is a big game changer that shouldn't be ignored. It adds way too much random EA prompt mechanics that actually impact your gameplay and story. I've got all the modules. Things like combatting rumors. Giving Advice. Getting Sick. Power and water outages. Work and School related triggers and many many more.

Zoeoe Buzzler Scribbling Pad Fixed - This is an essential fix and script optimization to this older and most adored scribbling pad mod. This works like typing/writing on the pc except you'll write in the journal and it's portable so you can do it from anywhere. I love having my working and school sims get the most use out of this. You can also use this to replace the writing pc interaction if you're playing in an older time period that didn't have computers.

Ok! Awesome! So we got through all the family gameplay mods! Now when you stick around to the end of the video I can showcase to you what all of these mods combined are going to look like in your game! We won't get through everything because there are simply WAY too many scenarios to show and we would be here all day. So I'm just going to show you how a general gameplay session would go instead!

And just as promised I'm going to recommend you a list of lots you're going to want to have in any world to get the most out of your family gameplay!

The EP's we can combine in this Theme are Seasons, UNI (although this will be in another world entirely so don't worry about this one too much), Generations, Pets, Island Paradise, and Late Night. This is the ultimate pack arsenal combined that gives you so many more features and interaction for your Family gameplay. You do not have to disable all of the other packs, you're simply going to focus on the content and lots given by these EP's in the world you chose to play your family in. Also consider adding all of the premium store content you don't need the full sets, just the functional objects.

Arcade lot - For family events and date nights. Friends meetups.

1 Dive bar - for singles to meet and date nights. Friends meetups.

1 Sports bar - for guys nights or date nights. Bachelor parties. Friends meetups.

1 Dance club - for singles and date nights and girls nights. Bachelorette parties. Friends meetups.

1 Gym - Consider adding a playpen to a toddler/child care section for those busy parents. Friends meetups.

1 Library - Consider adding a toddler playpen section, a child and teen section for homework, and a computer lab. Friends meetups.

1 church - This can double as your opened Masoleum RH, and a pretty place to get married. Friends meetups.

1 functional Movie Theater - Does not need the Theater RH rug. Use the premium store content. For family events and date nights. Friends meetups.

1 Consignment store - With savvier seller objects to buy cc deco and furniture. I use this to roleplay changing around my bedrooms for when my sims age up. I don't put everything I have in the store obviously, but I do buy some things to include in the build.

1 Bistro - Open up the RH and use Ani's Business as Unusual set. For singles, family events, and date nights. Friends meetups.

1 Diner - Same as above, more afforable and relaxed eaterie. You don't have to open up every RH, but you should focus on the ones your active family will be working in and going to school. So for schools, that would be 1 elementary and 1 high school.

1 outdoor picnic/camping lot - For in home vacations, family events, and date nights. Friends meetups.

1-4 festival lot - Could be broken up into several throughout your town, one for each season. This makes these lots more optimized and you can decorate more cc into these seasonal themed lots without worrying about overloading the lot and crashing during season transitions. For family events, singles, date nights. Friends meetups.

1 Pool lot - For everyone, and parties.

1 Fancy banquet lot - Can double as an exclusive lounge, for wealthy family events and fancy parties, can also add casino objects.

1 big park - with a playground.

1 small park - with another playground and cat and dog park.

1 pet store - using store content.

1 pet clinic - Using ATS3 pet clinic set, Pet Vet career, and a second hospital RH combined with Pet diseases mod to make the lot functional, and also adding UC.

1 art gallery - consider adding an easel room for art class, a mini winery (for paint and sip date nights), and a savvier seller gift shop, to gift to your date or friends or for yourself.

1 Fishing spot, with rentable IP boats - For those fishing trips you'll take with your kids and make memories. You can also add this lot to your vacation worlds instead.

1 CoffeeHouse or Java Hut - For singles, Friends, dates during the day. Teens and parents.

1 Laundromat - For families without the laundry objects in their home.

1 Opened up Spa - With store and script objects combined for a more luxorious experience and extra custom moodlets.

It's an odd thing to ask. Callum's always been weird like that, Rayla supposes, and usually his weird questions are related to magic, and Xadia, and elven script and Rayla is (generally) happy to oblige. What can she say? He likes to learn, and the lilt in his voice and the light in his eyes and the excitement in his smile is endearing, and she's never been particularly good at saying no, at least not to him.

But this one is weird because it's not a Xadia thing, or a magic thing, or an elven script thing, and when he asks, he's not nearly as upbeat about it. At first, she doesn't get it. It's a useful skill to have, and a fun skill to master—it's like a puzzle but more fiddly, and Rayla had taught herself years and years ago because she didn't like it when Ethari and Runaan tried to keep her out of places, so of course she learned (in part) to spite them. Callum's never really had the same restrictions because he's a prince, and all he has to do to unlock anything is ask, usually, and yet—

"Can you teach me?"

"Er. Sure?" Rayla tilts her head at him curiously. "You planning a heist or something?"

Callum chuckles a little. "Or something," he says cryptically. "What, you don't think I can do it?"

"I don't think it's your style," says Rayla. "You're a prince and high mage, why on earth would you need to know how to pick a lock?"

He smirks then. "Ancient tomes, forbidden libraries, old abandoned ruins, jellytart runs... All sorts of reasons. Just feels like a necessary skill for adventure, y'know?"

Rayla laughs at that. "I mean, I guess. How often are you intending to break into forbidden libraries and old abandoned ruins?"

Rayla shakes her head at him, trying not to laugh at the way he wheedles. She was never going to say no, and he knows it, and he's far too smug about it for it not to be funny. For a second, she actually forgets that it's a weird thing to ask and teases him back: "Fine, but you'll have to ask Opeli for the handcuffs. I'm sure she won't wonder why you want them."

Callum snickers loudly at that, and it's that simple, that easy, just jokes between the two of them about a skill they don't really need, until later, when Rayla's showing him the mechanics of a lock and a thought occurs to her that reminds her why the whole thing feels a bit off-kilter.

"You know, we've only really had problems with locks, like, twice," she muses. "There was that one time Opeli arrested me, and then that time on Sea Legs, but I mean, you managed fine."

Something flickers across Callum's face. His smile twitches, falters, and if Rayla didn't know him so well, she might have missed it because she can see how hard he's trying to make it less of a deal than it is.

"Yeah, well." He shifts uncomfortably, the memory just as unpleasant for him. "I don't want repeats. I don't want anyone else trying to feed you to any sea leviathans."

"Somehow I think that was a one time thing." Rayla pauses, her smile fading a little as she fiddles with the manacles on his wrists. "How'd you get out of the chains Finnegrin put you in anyway? You apparently didn't pick them."

There's a pause. Callum looks away, and the whole world stills as the realisation dawns over Rayla, as cold as the way her blood froze in her veins that same day.

"...Callum."

"I had to do," he says quietly. He meets her gaze then, and the storm in his eyes makes her intestines writhe like snakes. "I couldn't let him hurt you."

Rayla says nothing for a moment, fingers hovering over the chains locked around his wrists. Her heart thumps heavily. Her breath shudders out. "Well," she says after a moment. "I guess we have to make sure you don't end up in that position a third time."

"You're not angry?"

"I don't know." She touches his hand then and finds herself relieved that it's still warm under her fingers. She doesn't know how to feel about it, but they're both alive and they're both safe so... that must count for something. "It doesn't matter," she says in the end. "I'm just... Glad we're okay. You won't do it again anyway."

Callum looks up at her. "Won't I?"

"No." Rayla hands him the lockpick. "I won't let you."

How do you come up with so many intricate plots and characters? They seem so… human? I’m very surprised you don’t read much! I guess what I’m asking is, what’s your creative process? Do you take inspiration from aspects of yourself, or is it more of a form of escapism? When you write your plots, do you imagine yourself as the character, the audience, or both? 

Another thing that truly amazes me and makes your channel stand out a lot is the way you give the listener a voice. It feels like each listener is so different and unique, and *actually* interacts with the character. It also feels like you’re never spoon feeding us information? All the questions do get answered, but it’s different style imo. Usually, in most ASMR RPs I’ve heard, the speaker will repeat what you said verbatim, (eg. “You think XXX?”, or “You want me to XXX?”), and the frequency at which these types of phrases are used makes it *seem* like a RP. Of course, it’s a challenging medium - the audience needs to know whats going on somehow, but you manage to achieve the same in a much more subtle way. It makes me wonder how long you spend planning out your content haha.

Final question, do you prefer to type or handwrite your plans, scripts, etc? I’ve always preferred planning on paper, even though it’s a bit impractical haha. Also, would you mind showing us your handwriting? I think it says a lot about a person! There’s the stereotype that people usually have a certain handwriting that corresponds to their major/occupation, and if I remember correctly, I think you studied film? I’m just curious hehe. No pressure, of course!

Honestly, I don't know how I do it myself considering my memory is absolute shit! Though I don't read much, I learn about characters through other mediums such as television shows and movies. I'll try and break this down for ease of reading!

~My Creative Process~

When making a character or series, it all depends on where my initial inspiration began. For example, with Niall, I wanted to create an M4M series exploring a character who carries trauma of being forcibly outed, betrayed by someone he confided in, and how those events affected him through his adult life. The core of Niall's story was confronting fears that manifested due to the Listener's actions in school, and finding that there was a way to heal, albeit slowly, and a hope to love despite external animosity. Niall exists because I wanted to tell a particular story.

With Zaros, he first came about because of The Noble Trials plot. I knew that he would be different from other characters, so I'm using this series as a means of testing my skill with a new editing style, story format, and new world setting. Although it's more work, I have the most fun with The Noble Trials and making its lore (though I'm always a sucker for that)!

I go into creating characters with the belief that they are all extremely flawed. Whether that be by nature or nurture, there will inevitably be some slew of events in their pasts that shaped the way they act in the current timeline. This also extends to the Listeners so they aren't rigid, boring, and an empty shell. Characters can clash, but they can also change with and for each other. A good example is Isaac's story. He was scarred by his past, and was willing to confine Pickle in the house if it meant not losing someone he cared for again. Pickle was also scarred with abandonment and instability, wondering if they would ever find a home. Isaac gave them a place to belong, and Pickle gave him consolation and courage to face the unknown.

When I write, the character's actions must reflect the backstory in which they were crafted, so I always need to dive into their heads.

~Listener Dialogue~

This requires much more thought to make interactions seem authentic, but there's a fine line between repeating words verbatim and not alluding to any sort of context. I dislike repeating the Listener's words so I try to indirectly insinuate what they were saying whenever possible. If I can do so with SFX alone, that's a bonus! But when scenes contain heavy dialogue, it can be difficult to get the message across without being heavy-handed with repetition, unless that's the purpose of a specific moment.

~Handwriting vs Typing~

I always handwrite my outlines! On some occasions, I can start and finish a script without the help of one, but my workflow tends to include writing an outline of some kind, and it has to be done on paper! I feel like the ideas manifest quicker that way.

However, I always type my scripts. It's much easier to edit, share with other voice actors, and there's a level of professionalism in formatting that motivates me to write more!

i rewatched genloss episode three and I’m about to make it everyone’s problem

Rewatching this episode with the knowledge of what’s going to happen adds such a nuance to this that you can’t fully understand until you already know the ending. From the first 10 minutes Hetch repetitively tells Ranboo he’s still in control of the simulation. He says things like

“Just listen to me I’ve got everything under control”

“I’ve programmed them (the Showfall drones) to believe there’s no show going on right now”

“I’ve disabled your mask”

Even Ranboo acknowledges this, at one point exclaiming

“I don’t know! you’re the one in control!”

Ranboo has gotten very used to this routine. Do what you’re told. Try to succeed the best you can. And maybe less people will die in the process. But this times different. He’s given partial control. The veil over his eyes is lowered just enough where he’s seeing more than he’s ever seen before. But he has no control. Hetch is doing the same thing Showfall has been doing this whole time. Telling Ranboo exactly what to do to get the best show out of him.

As the episode goes on, Showfall alludes to the simulation being active as ever more and more. There’s still background music perfectly timed. The camera angles are still there. Hetch gives us a lazy excuse that he’s using it to watch Ranboo, but this is the same guy who said Ethan and Nikki are still alive and well.

But I think the most sinister thing this time around is that they’re not just feeding Ranboo the answer to the questions they throw at him. They’re feeding him a narrative. When he exclaims “why me?!” Hetch responds with no hesitation “There must be something special about you”

“It’s a show. There’s a script. You’re the hero” ***

(We will most definitely come back to this ;) )

The most CLEAR part that shows us that the simulation is alive, before of course, we are shown very obviously, is the lead up to the kill switch scene. The audio distortion times up with Charlie’s perfectly timed speech. It has its own music. So many different camera angles. Zooms. It’s the best camera work of the whole show. It’s so cinematic and that’s on PURPOSE. Showfall is winking at us through the production of this, almost teasing us at what’s to come very soon after. We should have caught this. We should have been screaming at the screen telling our beloved hero to run. But we were celebrating. This should have been our biggest sign that this is all wrong and there’s no way in hell this is right but we were CELEBRATING. Our hero had won right?!

Yet he knew subconsciously that it was all wrong. Why else would you bow at a camera that’s supposed to be turned off? Once again he’s blind. The veil is pulled fully over his eyes yet again and he is back to the puppet we’ve gotten to know all along.

His victory is nothing but a set up to add more to the cinematography of his death.

And it leads on to the scene that we all dread on every rewatch. The execution. Or the box as I like to call it (🙃) Remember that point I said we’d come back to? This scene has so many parallels it makes my head spin. Hetch reassures Ranboo less than 20 minutes before that:

“You were just doing what you needed to to survive”

“There must be something special about you”

Because he had to do what he had to do right? He was just a guy trying to survive? Or was he? Did our beloved hero really have to do the things he did? Did he betray us? It festers in our brains deciding if this man should live or die while Hetch fuels the fire.

“don’t you see there’s consequences to your own actions?!”

“We only pushed you in the right direction!”

“That was the real you! Ranboo!”

He parallels these phrases in a way that makes us question everything we think we know about him. And the final nail in the coffin hits us right in the decision making skills as he hammers in:

“The choices you made. That’s the real you. That’s what makes you a hero”

That’s. What makes you. A hero.

No valiant efforts. No conquests. Not even winning. No. This was never about being brave or bold. This was about being a pawn. An actor playing whatever part he’s told to play. “The hero” is a title only given to the unluckiest of fools. Believing they are making a difference while being tossed away the second they break script.

That’s what makes a hero.

🐚so for starters I could see Konan being the main planner. Food, drinks, making sure they have enough of literally everything they could need, as well as making sure everybody wakes up on time to leave.

🐠then for the majority of the time they’re at the beach she would be found relaxing under an umbrella reading or watching everybody have a good time.

🦞pain on the other hand would be trying to stop deidara from blowing up Tobi. (I’ll elaborate further down)

🪸pain would definitely be the ‘dad’ of the group, making sure things aren’t getting too out of hand, and failing terribly at it. Zetsu lost a sandal? Just go barefoot, what’s the worst that could happen? He gets a splinter or a rock scrapes his heel. Feels bad when Zetsu starts crying about his foot hurting, would buy him ice cream as an apology.

🌊I imagine Zetsu as being a big softie. Just like Tobi he wouldn’t know what to do first. I also see him having a slight fear of water? Someone tries splashing him he’d close his leaves? Pinchers? Locking himself in his own shelter

☀️he’d find a bucket, a cup, literally anything and start collecting all the pretty shells he spots, even when the bucket gets full, he’ll start stuffing them in his pockets.

🪼our gentle masked comrade Tobi would refuse to take his mask off, let alone his shirt🥺

🐙poor thing couldn’t figure out what to do when they first arrived; go swimming? Build a sandcastle? Collect shells? Stare at the fish and other sea creatures showing themselves in the water? Nope, he decided on doing what he does best, piss off Deidara

🐬doesn’t even mean to do so, deidara is as explosive as his art so of course he’s going to get mad when Tobi accidentally gets sand in his hair.

🐋would retreat far into the ocean on a floaty, avoiding Tobi as much as possible. His hair would be tied up into a bun to keep the sea water from drying it out. Would most likely be those floaties with the little cup holder in it, probably with a beer can or sake in it.

🦭Sasori my man, I can imagine him working on a sandcastle. Using his skills to make a large one with details that would be tedious to anybody but him.

🦐he would volunteer to run up to the shops to grab things his comrades may want. No matter how small or stupid that item might be. Would buy small toys and presents in the gifts shops for everyone. He really enjoys walking through the board walk, will take a break and hang out on the pier for a bit before returning to the group.

🐚the zombie combo would both be talking and trying to pick up the gorgeous women who also decided to head to the beach that day. Hidan of course would be much more outgoing and flamboyant about it. Showing off his muscles and abs.

🐠Kakuzu on the other hand, all he’s gotta do is show off that one smirk of his to have them hypnotized. Wouldn’t care if one of them felt up on his scars or touched his hair. He won’t voice it, not even to Hidan, but he enjoys the attention, even if nothing comes of it.

🦈oh boy Kisame. Do I really have to say anything? As you said, he’d be THRIVING.

🦈would be moving through the water with ease, not even a ripple would be seen as he swims. Within minutes, sharks and other large sea animals would be seen following him around. He’d be so cute about it too, feeding them random shit he’d find, knowing what they want, or giving the sharks little boops on their noses(you can’t tell me you don’t see him doing this) and would be the main one to eat like 90% of the food Konan packed. She would make him join Sasori when going to the shops so he can stock up on everything he devoured.

🦞our sweet boy Itachi would pop into the water for a little bit before wandering off to the tide pools. He would find a patch of sand to sit on, watching as the sea stars and small fish go about their business as they wait for the tide to come back in

🪸would eventually get tired of being in the sun and lay out a towel next to Konan to hang out under the umbrella. They would talk or sit in silence, depends on how either of them are feeling that day.

•snake boy orochimaru would LATHER himself in sunscreen, you see how pale he is? (No offense, i love him) and he would also wear sunglasses to protect his eyes.

🌊I could see him complaining about the sun and trying to avoid it like the plague, acting as if the sun is the worst thing imaginable. Not one to express his feelings well if at all and uses his complaints to hide the fact that he’s actually having the time of his life. Would put a fish or eel in a jar, wanting to bring it back to the compound to keep as a pet until Konan tells him release it. Promising to take him to a pet store to get one there instead.

☀️towards the end of the day, moving into the early evening the whole group would play volleyball or fuck around in the water, splashing each other until everybody’s out of breath.

You have been one of the most unapologetically yourself artists Ive come across and I dont mean that in the cliche way I mean like... your idiosyncrasies seem particularly unstifled. Your art is purely yourself and the mainstream isnt gonna go for it but the audience you do speak to gets to feel like an alien finding someone else from their homeland. AI image gen feels like a beautiful cake with flowery frosting and when you cut into it its actually frosting all the way down and has nothing of substance. I obviously can speak only in metaphors lol so I just wanted to say I appreciate reading your thoughts on AI and tho I feel strongly abt it I have a hard time putting exacting words to what about it is so worrying to me. As an artist it energizes me when I see artists who are wildly unique and expressing themselves without a care to their skill limitations or personal strangenesses (read: mainstream unmarketability). It's really interesting following people who are very honest but more mathy than me, because the way they talk about art and AI lately has gotten... increasingly callous. Even bitter. It's partly justified, because artists tend to suck at defending themselves charismatically. ("AI art isn't real art"; the "AI can't do hands" thing was always destined to age badly) But also, I can't stand the sheer selfishness of people who claim to be rational but don't seem know how to investigate what art at its best is for and why they view it the way they do. When I read "AI is great for hobbyists" I'm like. 95% of the time, I'M A HOBBYIST... I would never generate a script, or music... javascript maybe, but I'd feel guilty about it... but the excitement? I think some guys are just looking to suckle on a feeding tube. Cos they were done a disservice by thinking they had to stop visual art after fingerpainting!

I don't think AI NEVER has substance, but the type of person who gets excited about AI doesn't tend to do interesting things with it. And what really bothers me is that I can never tell exactly WHAT they did, versus how much was a coin flip. This is useless for understanding your voice as an artist. I don't care to see more by you.

ONE is a perfect example. His style MAKES that story. The manga and the anime feel so different. That's why I hate when people say that hating AI is discriminating against people who can't draw, cos like... if you can't make something intentional and real without using what's functionally a search engine, why would I believe you're having ideas worth the cliche conceptartdotcom overrendered AI polish at all? Not to be a dick, but like. In terms of rate of return on my attention investment, so far I'd do better by sitting at a craps table.

💅🏻 Affection, affection and more affection. Asmo is absolutely affectionate without a care for location, it’s a constant for him. Everything from kisses, holding hands, holding you or even running his fingers through your hair. He finds a deep sense of solace and validation through physical touch and affection, not only is his sin heavily related to touch and sensation but you elevate it to a completely new level. Asmo feels he can convey so much through touch and feels more honest intention being expressed through it. From his side and from your side as well, it’s something he can instinctively tell your thoughts, your emotions. Those gentle touches when you’re checking up on him, or when you’re excited and you hold his hand a little tighter while explaining something you enjoy. Asmo will call you cute, but he really appreciates you always keeping up with him and his affectionate whims. He will tone it down if he senses you don’t want to be smothered in the moment.

B = Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

💅🏻 Asmo is definitely the hype you up kind of best friend, he occasionally will feed your ‘bad’ decisions but rest assured he’ll never let you get a hairstyle you’ll regret. He loves offering unhinged advice, listening to your tea, spilling his own and shit talking the haters. He always listens to your ranting, granted that you listen to his as well. He’s the one that encourages you to enter your villain arc and be the best version of yourself. Your activities include shopping dates, dinner and spa days. Asmo loves instances of self care and enjoys things like having foodie experiences at cute and new cafes, clothing shopping and everything in between. Any excuse for some TLC best believe Asmo is there and on board for it. He also loves acting as your personal stylist and is really good at it.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle)

💅🏻 Asmo is a big fan of cuddles, especially with a good show and fluffy blankets. It’s calming and provides him with a very necessary downtime that he needs after constantly being a socialite, it’s an exhausting venture afterall. It’s also one of the few times when Asmo isn’t worried about having to give his all and expend his energy, rather it’s restful for him. He’s definitely the little spoon in the equation and he will act cute just to get his way. You find it hard to refuse when Asmo is batting his long eyelashes at you with a slight pout to his lips and a pleading look in his eyes. Curse Asmo for being so adorable and knowing EXACTLY how to get you riled up and sad for him.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

💅🏻 He gets a 0/10 for his domestic skills. Unless we’re talking about when he pulls out his cute little housewife aesthetic (purely fashion wise) then it’s a 10/10. Expect girl dinners, no cooking skills. Should Asmo actually be left to cook you can just imagine your meal to consist of half frozen chicken nuggets, an apple and celery. He’d rather order takeout, (and he does). He hates cleaning because it could ruin his nails or get his clothes dirty in doing so. He can’t have that happen. As for the settling down aspect he’s in between about it, Asmo knows he is a gift to the devildom, to the whole world and three realms really. It would be absolutely selfish of him to confine himself to a single partner.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

💅🏻 “It’s not me, it’s you.” Dumps, rinses and repeats. He’s done it enough times to have a practiced routine and infallible script. It was different with you though, he hated it. Hated seeing just how upset you got even when you tried to hide it. He never really knew the extent of his callous words until it was time to use them on you. Before you, he never gave it any thought, it worked so why not do it? Asmo truly never took any of his previous partners seriously and thus never dwelled on the breakups, he’d have his breakup on Friday, a date on Saturday and thus it repeated. With you it was vastly different, it lingered, it hurt and it bothered him. He went home, only did half his usual skin routine before creating a sad girl hours playlist and eating Beels ice cream.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quickly would they want to get married.)

💅🏻 Asmo would not want to get married very quickly. He loves the idea of the wedding attire plus all the glitz and glamor of it, with that in mind he understands the appeal but as for actual married life not so much. Asmo knows he can’t keep himself to one person, again revisiting the point of depriving the world of himself. He’s got way too much to give in different ways and restricting himself to just one person would be utterly tragic. Asmo doesn’t want misunderstanding to arise, you’ll always be his absolute number 1.5 (1 is him, but you’re special so you’re ranked as 1.5) he tells you that everyone else is like squabbling concubines in comparison and you’re his positive favorite :)

G = Gentle (How gentle are they? Both physically and emotionally.)

💅🏻 Very gente physically, he can be rough when he wants to be ;) (time and place sweetheart), emotionally 50/50, he can say some pretty unhinged and occasionally toxic things. Unintentionally or intentionally you never know. Asmo does get a rise from making you jealous and the things he does to achieve the reaction he desires is anything but kind. He’s getting better the more he learns that you don’t like being toyed with especially by his capricious nature. You’ve had your fair share of fights because of his behavior and while he’ll defend and deflect saying he doesn’t get why you’re so upset over nothing (Gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss.) You try to explain how it makes you feel and slowly he’s starting to understand that you are genuinely invested in him and the relationship and his nonsense won’t be tolerated when he acts like he’s playing with you. On the other hand he’s encouraging and tells you to live your best life and will help you with that.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

💅🏻 Loves hugs! The way in which he gives hugs is dependent on his outfit though, if it’s something that will crumple easily then you’ll just have to settle for air hugs. He loves you, he really does, however Asmo doesn’t want to walk around in wrinkled clothes that make it seem that he doesn’t know how to keep his clothes in perfect condition. Most of the time he’d be the one to initiate the hug and it’s the safer option to let him do so. He enjoys very intimate hugs, ones where he can pull you in real close by your waist and sneak a few kisses on your face and neck. Also if he’s had a bad day he likes just being hugged by you, burying his face in your neck while just recharging from the day.

💅🏻 Asmo says it almost instantly, for anything he likes and even called you the love of his life before you were together. The difference is the degree to which he actually means it. Asmo throws the words around easily so it’s hard to put the emotional stock into it. You’ll know when he’s saying it seriously and when he honestly means it. The words feel different, not as shallow as they usually are. He’s sincere and the words convey that. You’ve heard the L word, the L bomb whatever you want to call it and over time the sincerity changed and Asmo came to realize the weight of his words.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they're jealous?)

💅🏻 Asmo gets jealous and surprisingly not for the reasons you’d think. He’d get jealous overthinking when your attention was fixated elsewhere. He’s not worried about you seeing other people but he wants (demands) your undivided attention when he is there and present. Anything less than 110% of your attention is absolutely illegal in his books and he’ll sulk. He’ll pout and make a few self-deprecating comments about how clearly he isn’t worth your time and he’ll do the most to guilt trip you into feeling bad. Of course he doesn’t mean any of the negative things he’ll say about himself though Asmo knows you’ll respond to those comments and praise him to prove them wrong. Also the false self deprecating comments are better than saying mean things to you directly.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

💅🏻 Sensual and appetitive. He’s got kisses for every mood and occasion, maybe Asmo’s just trying to wow you with his kissing skills. He loves demonstrating how he ties cherry stems with his tongue and will demonstrate by doing it on your tongue rather than a cherry stem. (Brings a whole new meaning to being tongue tied) He likes the little innocent pecks, all the way to the full blown make out sessions that leave you breathless. He knows the gentle sultriness that kissing brings. Your lips, ears, neck, face, shoulders…Everywhere really he likes giving you kisses. They’re wordless instances of his affection for you. You noticed that he never does the cute little butterfly kisses or chaste type with other people. It’s exclusively reserved for you. Asmo loves you kissing his lips directly, his collarbones and shoulders being kissed. He finds lipstick smears really hot too and only you’re allowed to mess up his lipstick.

L = Little Ones (How are they around children?)

💅🏻 He’s apprehensive around kids, they’re messy, loud, grubby and dirty. What was sticky?? What’s this weird stain on his clothes? Did they just rub their snot covered face onto his designer cardigan? Ew, no. Kids are cute from a far distance. He definitely does not want to interact with them himself. He’s not evil enough to want to steal their candy or push them over when no ones looking because that would require touching them and again- ew. He doesn’t know where they’ve been, maybe they have rabies??? Besides, Asmo isn’t a very PG person to be around to begin with. So for their mutual benefit it’s best for Asmo and kids to avoid one another.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

💅🏻 Full course of beauty sleep is the first thing on his routine, then he’s up and at them to do a morning ritual to make sure he looks amazing for the day. He drags you along with his morning routine, you can’t really say you dislike it. Your skin has never felt or looked as great as it did after Asmo’s morning routine.He’s almost always late because of sleeping in and having to condense his extensive routine into what little time there is before classes start. Asmo is a total demon at multitasking, you didn’t think it would be possible to watch someone touch up their nails, have a face mask, eat a croissant and be styling their hair simultaneously. It’s a very trust the process thing. Not to mention how after all that he still needs to do his makeup to make sure he looks perfect.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

💅🏻 Either at home spa treatments, tea and a show OR going out to the latest social scene. Asmo needs to be on top of things to create content for his Devilgram account and having to be at the hottest places and gatherings. Asmo can sometimes make you feel like an accessory at these parties since he’s very intent on socializing with EVERYONE and you sort of end up getting dragged around at his pace. He’s too focused on everything else to be fully attentive to you and the party sometimes gets a bit much so you’ll find a moment to slip out and just catch some fresh air.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all

💅🏻 He’s a pretty open book or so he pretends to be. There are very few things that you could learn about Asmo that you couldn’t learn from his #journal tag on his Devilgram account. He wears his heart on his sleeve or at the very least is the image he presents to the social media world. It’s once again a matter of sincerity and honesty behind those things. Most are just superficial secrets that he doesn’t care if people know them or not. Asmo however, does entrust you with his more vulnerable moments, his deeper secrets and it’s hard for him to actually say what he means sometimes because it will go against the entire image of himself that he’s tried so hard to cultivate.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

💅🏻 Is it drama? Has Asmo himself been slandered? Because he’s willing to throw perfectly manicured hands. You wouldn’t have expected Asmo to have a short fuse, that’s because he doesn’t like being angry, he believes it to be a very ugly emotion in himself. He gets crude. Loud and violent. Definitely not the type of image he wants for himself and this desire is more amplified if there are people present who will witness his ‘ugly’ side. For the most part he can be relatively chilled, willing to look the other way or find alternative ways to fight aka his petty behavior over social media. Call out posts, threads, you name it. You’d hear the most aggressive screen cracking, frantic tapping sounds as Asmo proceeds to type an ESSAY about why the other person is a two faced bitch.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing or they kind of or forget everything?)

💅🏻 Asmo remembers the important stuff, at least what he deems is important from his perspective. He can be a sweetheart and surprise you with the things you like if he remembers. He is very good at getting you little things (If he was getting something for himself he’ll remember to give some to you as well) and it’s pleasant. It makes you happy to know that he remembered it , he’ll remember small details like your favourite colours, your favorite outfits and what makes you feel confident or insecure. He’ll know your boba and coffee orders off by heart and your go to songs when you’re down and need a pick me up.

R = Remember (What is their favourite moment in your relationship?)

💅🏻 It may seem an insignificant thing to most but not to Asmo it’s probably the highlight for him. (Even though it’s a very common occurrence now) One of his fondest memories is the very first time he wore a couples outfit with you. Went out and had a date being all cute and a matching pair. He saw it, he loved it and just had to wear it with you; his favorite person. Following up with the uppercut about how adorable you look and that he loves you just sooooo much he could eat you up. Asmo said it a lot in passing but for real this time, this is when he actually meant it that he love loves you. Not a little tee hee ho ho kind of way. He is full L word, he’s hopelessly in lesbians with you. (Sorry not sorry for the Scott Pilgrim ref)

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

💅🏻 Asmo wants to know that you have his back and are in his corner. The social worlds are unforgiving and even ruthless at times. Always someone trying to start something, to start a rumour or spread around a stupid story. Asmo just wants the security in knowing that if you’d heard such a thing in passing you’d lay down the facts and dispel the rumour even if he wasn’t around to witness you doing so. He loves being protected IRL, anything that makes him feel like the pretty princess he is will get you a 5 star rating. Asmo protects you by defending from petty malice but he’s also willing to throw hands if someone is hassling you. Giving his aversions to physical violence you’d never have expected that from him but alas~

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

💅🏻 His efforts always and will always be Devilgram worthy. He wants to see every other demon turning green with envy at his anniversary posts, or the cute little relationship goal posts. He wants it to be the hottest topic of the day and so he will put in a lot of effort for dates, anniversaries, gifts and the whole shebang. It’s just a little unfortunate that you always hear about these plans from social media before you even hear it from Asmo so the surprises aren’t exactly surprises. All the anniversary surprises don’t scream surprise when you saw his story outlining how he bought, booked and planned the entire thing. Basically vlogging the entire experience.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

💅🏻 It’s a rather nasty habit that Asmo has been working on to get rid of but it’s still a trying experience. Occasionally he will dismiss your problems and excitement for his own, if you have good news to be shared pray that he doesn’t either. Because your good news will always be second to his. If you have problems it comes second best to his, he’ll even go on a tangent about why his problems are worse than yours and can say some very hurtful things like “What worries could you possibly have that’s worse than mine?” You’ve had whole arguments over how it feels like he invalidates your worries and concerns or they’re not as important as his. Asmo will apologize and explain but it usually happens again.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

💅🏻 Do you even need to ask? Asmo spends most of his waking time looking in a mirror and fixated on making sure he’s perfect. His photo roll is filled with thousands of pictures of him and he fixated on himself down to the last detail. Not a hair out of place, no smudged makeup, not a single wrinkle on his uniform. He takes pride in himself and his appearance, that you can appreciate. It’s a known fact that his vain tendencies can get in the way of other things, for example getting ready for dates means waiting around until Asmo is finally ready and then he’ll pull you in for twenty selfies before you’re actually able to leave for your date.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

💅🏻 Asmo is Asmo and while your presence is one that he loves and appreciates, chances are however, he wouldn’t miss you THAT much. He would but you know the saying, out of sight out of mind. He’d tell you that he thought about you a lot that day, and it’s true you probably took up some real estate in Asmo’s mind. Which quickly were pushed back by the slew of other things he did to distract himself. If someone was able to overcompensate and give him the attention he lacked, he could live without you. (The denial is strong in this one) Asmo would be upset no doubt but the reality is doable. He’d just find more people to fawn and fuss over him, more people to compliment him. It would be a big hole to fill but Asmo could make it work.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them)

💅🏻 Despite coming across as shallow and superficial. Asmo does provide keen thought to everything he does, not often for the right reasons but he has more depth to himself. That he hides from everyone, it’s a way of protecting himself. He’d ignore those thoughts when it doesn’t suit his mood and it’s known that he can be capricious. Asmo knows for a fact that he’s unreliable for the little things but for the things that matter he’d be an absolute rock and solid person for you. He’d pull through every time and support you when you need it the most. He’s a master at prioritizing who gets to hold a place in his heart properly.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn't like, either in general or in a partner?)

💅🏻 Obvious is a lack of self care in one’s self. He doesn’t like that in people, he’s so insistent about it that you’d think he’s allergic or something. Asmo hates anyone who approaches him solely to use him whether for his popularity, connections or himself. It’s happened a multitude of times previously, each time it forces Asmo to grow more distrusting of new ‘friends’ and can very well be the reason why more of his relationships grew as superficial as they did without him ever really letting someone in or investing himself in the relationship.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

💅🏻 Asmo sleeps like the dead and he doesn’t move around much at all just in case there is unnecessary friction which can cause problems for his hair and skin. His hair isn’t as much of a worry since he got himself a customized bonnet to keep his luscious locks altogether. He has the habit of tapping the bed to feel around for you in case he forgets that he didn’t fall asleep with you the night before. He also believes in a glass of water before bed and makes sure he gets his full course of beauty sleep so he’s fresh not only in appearance but in feeling as well!

In all seriousness, Twitter Tom fans are pissed, rightfully so because what happened to Fred Astaire? I hate loyalty in that industry. He needs to break free from Sony. He's a walking money machine for them. I think he thinks he's young forever and that there aren't other young actors who are working their hardest to get to his position and doing interesting projects. He reminds me of Will Smith doing Wild West instead of doing the Matrix. Poor decisons at what cost?

Him doing this play was meant for new projects. Amy wants him to feed her lineage doing soulless sequels. Unless he picks the director and rewrites the script, this is a chop for his career. I'm not sad if those Twitter boys do better than him now because this is a stupid choice.

You have a great point, especially about the loyalty part, because I really really really don't like the news.

As someone who enjoyed Uncharted, I can't bring myself to be excited for a sequel. It feels like the executives are pushing the narrative that a second movie is happening, even though I get the impression that Tom isn't fully on board. This gives me a bad feeling, especially because he was very aware of the reception from critics and fans for the first one. But If he's doing it, it's definitely just for the money. It's really annoying that we aren't getting actual casting news—exciting stuff like new movies with new characters. Instead, we're getting more Sony blockbusters, which feels like a bad déjà vu.

As much as some people love to call us names, so many fans feel the same way. The fact that the one exciting project he's currently involved in is something most of us can't watch is really disappointing too. These new updates aren't helping either, it's not what we want to hear, let's be real. It feels like he's wasting his youth and potential by spending so much time making blockbusters that don't do justice to his acting skills.

As for club ideas, I’d do (other than dragon racing):

- dragon nursing: help take care of the baby dragons

- potion making: genuinely a really helpful club if you want to have extra healing potions for the fighting classes

- music: for students to assemble and make music together like an orchestra or smth

- hunting: really great way for the school to keep up the supply of food for the meat eating dragons + you can practice your long range skills (close range too if you’d like)

- books: phones don’t exist, so more people are reading in their past time— why not have it be a club?

- poetry: yk.. just your average poetry club… except in a dragon rider world!

- foraging: foraging and identifying plants + cooking with the mushrooms n herbs, works closely with the potion club, also a great club to aid in feeding the dragons

- gemology: more or less just finding crystals in the caves hidden in the campus’ sky island + the sky islands that surround the campus

- painting: relaxing club for a non-relaxing DR!

Okay so that was about 10 clubs you could add to this DR! If you looked over the list, you may notice that a lot of them don’t pertain to dragons or even combat. Do take note that people in this DR would find comfort in doing other things too!

i am curious though, how did you get so good at voice acting? since you already have a name long enough to strangling myself with, i don’t wanna blow more smile up your butt and feed your ego, but listening to your videos, especially those featuring albus give me goose bumps. it’s almost uncanny how well you can cry and yell? (that sounded much better in my head…). seriously, i feel my stomach drop and everything, how do you do it? just tons of practice?

Well I do have a natural gift and passion for it, but practice and skill will always be something I praise over that. You can do anything you want in this world. Some of us might have a head start, but we all start somewhere. And with practice we all get better!

The best way I learned to cry and scream in a realistic way is, quite simply, to picture yourself in that situation. Channel the emotion and work it into the script!

S1E2 – The Book Write Up P1

– 2 days before Armageddon and 1656

On my most recent rewatch of this episode, I felt like overall it was much more narrative in nature than the first one, so there might not be quite as much waffle in this write up. Then again, this episode includes both the jacket cleaning and the wall slam Aziracrow moments, so perhaps let’s not count our chickens…

Let’s dive straight in then. It find it interesting that Aziraphale doesn’t appear surprised to see Gabriel and Sandalphon (described in the script as “thuggish”) in his book shop at all. I do love this little scene though, it’s pure comedy which, considering where we left off at the end of the first episode, is a good way to remind the audience that this show isn’t meant to be all doom and gloom. It’s also nice to see the comparison of knowledge of human behaviours here; Gabriel completely clueless and Sandalphon feeding him information he believes to be appropriate - only Aziraphale has any hint of behaving naturally at all, though there is something to ponder on here. Is his obvious discomfort at the mention of pornography caused by genuine embarrassment or because he has learned the appropriate human behaviour during his time on earth? I think it’s the former. We’ll see this human etiquette dilemma echoed in the first episode of season 2, which has a more obvious reference to its connotations so I will address it properly there. Let’s just say that Aziraphale’s sensitivities here could be attributed to forbidden knowledge.

I also love the fact that Aziraphale does his best not to make his customers feel awkward in this scene. Almost as if he actually wants them there. Which would mean actually selling some books somewhere along the way… He must just be being polite because that is clearly nonsense. It makes me giggle that despite trying to maintain an air or professional distance, he calls the two angels by name in front of the whole shop, completely undermining any attempts he was making at pretending the two “men” in front of him are unknown to him. Silly angel. And just to round this mini section off, this is my favourite line of the scene, which could only be delivered by a being that has no idea of the social connotations of buying porn:

We human beings are extremely easily embarrassed. We must buy our pornography secretively.

For those who don’t know, Mrs. Beeton’s Book of Household Management (the book Gabriel has picked up) is just about the furthest thing from porn you could possibly have – it’s a guide to running a household in Victorian Britain, written for married ladies of the time.

There’s a pretty delicious irony shown in the back room here – Gabriel marvelling at how easily humans are fooled whilst simultaneously being fooled by Aziraphale. The irony is further driven home by the fact that we, the “easily fooled” can tell Gabriel is being duped.

I would just like to take a moment to truly appreciate this beast that sits on a desk in the back office:

I work in IT (cyber security to be exact) and this thing gives me chills, of both the good and bad varieties. I do really love the way that there are so many little details hidden around the sets of this show, and this one goes to show how stuck in the dark ages Aziraphale is with “modern” life. I’d wager he only bought it because it was suggested to him in the first place. I’d be hugely surprised if he had used it more than once in its lifetime - probably turned it on, decided he didn’t like it and turned it off again.

There’s a lovely bit of character development here for Aziraphale, and it’s something we don’t get to see very much of with him – his ability to stay calm in difficult situations. He deals with the unexpected arrival of the two angels in a very skillful way; inventing a (believable) reason for why Sandalphon is able to smell evil in the shop, conversing with the two intruders in a polite but appropriate way, managing to lie to them without any hint of a fluster. I am guilty sometimes of thinking of the angel as a bit of a flake but scenes like this really help to remind me that actually he can be a total badass when he needs to be, after all Gabriel and Sandalphon both leave appearing to have no concerns about Aziraphale’s behaviour whatsoever.

From Aziraphale’s homely, cosy, cluttered book shop, we’re transported straight to Crowley’s sparse and cold-looking apartment where everything clearly has its place – another clever way of reminding us that these two characters are polar opposites in a lot of ways.

Interestingly the script describes Crowley’s apartment as being starkly white but I feel like the series realisation of it is much truer to his tastes. I also feel that seeing the demon in his own completely separate space is meant to serve as a reminder to the audience that he and Aziraphale are, supposedly, nothing more than good friends. As such it makes perfect sense that they should both have their own “home bases”, though I find it interesting that we never see Aziraphale at Crowley’s flat – in fact I don’t think there is evidence to suggest that he ever goes there at all (body swap incident aside). I’m pretty glad about that – Aziraphale is far too “soft” to be anywhere near comfortable in that apartment in my opinion. Coming back around to my own head canon (in which Crowley and Aziraphale are very much together at this point in the timeline), it does seem rather fitting that the flat is so sparsely furnished – I don’t really think Crowley spends that much time there (the script actually describes it as feeling “unlived in”), though it’s a good thing he wasn’t at the book shop for Gabriel’s visit in this particular instance. Regardless of whether or not Crowley really “lives” in this apartment, he’s clearly comfortable there as we see him prowling around without his glasses on.

The presence of the Mona Lisa sketch behind Crowley’s throne of a chair (why does he have such a grand chair anyway?) is explained in a deleted scene from the script – he bought it from Leonardo da Vinci himself during an evening of drinking (obviously).

I’m pretty sure that Crowley was about to call Aziraphale in this scene but for what purpose I have no idea – I don’t feel like there is anything more to be said about Armageddon at this point. I also don’t know why he decided better of it and stops himself. I’m not convinced there is anything in this as the interaction with the phone isn’t given in the stage directions of the script, I think it’s more likely part of the setting of the scene for the communication we’re about to see take place through the television.

I want to talk a little bit here about noises that are used in the soundtrack for when a miracle is performed as it’s something I believe will become important in season 2. Like REALLY important. But I’m getting ahead of myself. For now, let’s just note that at this point we’re introduced to the sound we will be hearing that signifies a demonic miracle taking place (which Crowley does to turn on the TV – either he’s being incredibly lazy or it’s a deliberate attempt to introduce us to this noise. I vote the latter). You can hear it in the clip below, immediately after the noise of Crowley clicking his fingers, underneath the talking from the TV:

I can’t quite place it as a sound, the closest I get to describing it is that it’s like the noise you get when you use a brush on a cymbal, or maybe sleigh bells that have been sped up. Either way, it’s distinctive. I’ll visit this concept again later, but for now we can just shelve the concept of the show giving a clear indication that a demonic miracle has just been performed for later reference.

I love the way television communique subtly strengthens the idea of communication over human broadcast mediums (like the radio in the Bentley) – this is mentioned in the book as being Crowley’s idea originally that has now turned sour for him. It’s worth noting the discussion prior to the arrival of Hastur and Ligur around the increasing of international tensions, which provides another device to lay the groundwork for the method of execution that Heaven has chosen for Armageddon. When I pick up on little things like this, I really am astounded by the amount of thought gone into this show.

Side note about Crowley’s chair:

I got a bit sidetracked on this, partly because I realised Ligur mentions it. I was actually able to find a couple of instances of the chair in various places online. It’s almost always described as a throne, and on one particular (Indonesian) website it’s described as a “King Chair”.

Can we just show some appreciation here for David’s top lip? With the most perfectly timed sneer, he conveys just how much contempt he has for his Hellish colleagues. Blink and you’d miss it:

If you missed the sneering, you can’t miss the undertones in the conversation he has with the two other demons – he has absolutely no appetite for Armageddon whatsoever, and next to no respect for what we are led to believe are his superiors. We do get a gem of a piece of information in this exchange though, which is that Hastur and Ligur are also fallen angels. Not only are they “fallen”, Hastur tells us that their collective falls were caused by an organised rebellion. We’ll learn a little more about the circumstances surrounding the fall of the rebellious angels later, and how Crowley came to be mixed up in the whole thing but for now this just makes me wonder how many other “fallen” there are currently waiting for Armageddon in Hell.

We’re treated to another lazy switch off of the TV here, with a repeat performance of the demonic miracle sound, so if you didn’t catch it the first time around, you really should have caught on by now.

We can’t leave this scene without mentioning Crowley’s take on his own fall:

I didn’t fall. I didn’t mean to fall. I just hung around the wrong people.

If that line doesn’t break your heart a little, you have no place here. The idea that Crowley’s fall was entirely unintentional and unwanted is something that we’ll come back to later, so for now we’ll just make a note of his true feelings about what is likely the single most defining event of his existence. It is interesting that Hastur does not appear to feel the same way about his own fall – 6000 years later he’s still standing by his actions and fully expects his accomplices to feel the same way. Seeing Crowley deliver this heartfelt sentiment to an empty room makes me wonder if Aziraphale has any idea how he feels about it. I highly doubt it but it’s a question I have nonetheless.

And so, we’re introduced to our delivery man. I really like this character because he feels incredibly relatable – he’s just a guy following instructions so that he can keep his job, put food on the table, go home to his loved ones. I feel like what happens to him throughout the series is so very unfair, and in this opening scene we hear that he is also being laden with the “blame” of calling the Four Horsemen when God refers to him as “the summoner”. Poor guy. Maybe that’s the point though, having the most relatable human character suffering the most because of events that are beyond his control. Maybe he’s meant to represent all of us. Deep…

Time for another appreciation take, and this time it goes to David Arnold’s amazing soundtrack. The sheer range of musical styles we hear across both seasons is incredible, and every incidental piece of music used does its job perfectly of helping to set the tone of the scene. The epic setting of the theme tune used in War’s introduction scene is nothing short of brilliant and I think it’s a real pity it can’t be found on the OST. Caveat: I was brought up on Queen, so any music (usually in a minor key, with plenty of broken scales and chords) that sounds even vaguely like rock with a prominent yet mournful guitar solo will have me weak at the knees any day. It’s why I currently sprint finish every run I do to the GO end titles theme (“The Theme That Got Left in the Car”). Honestly I sometimes think if my soul could make a noise, a wailing guitar is how it would sound.

We are now introduced to the namesake of the subtitle of the Good Omens universe – Agnes Nutter. The choice to use the surname “Nutter” for this character was not a random one. Alice Nutter was a woman executed for being a witch in Lancashire (where we find ourselves at this point in the story) in 1612. As much as I would like to believe that Agnes is perhaps a direct descendant of Alice, I have been unable to confirm the names of her descendants past sons and daughters, all of whom would have been too old to be our Agnes (and none of whom are named Agnes!). Anyway, Neil himself confirmed the link as a simple inspiration in a tweet all the way back in 2016, before season 1 was even filmed:

Nevertheless, this is another one of those instances where Neil and Terry have brilliantly woven together factual and fictional parts into a single story, which makes the whole so much believable, not to mention it gives you an appreciation for how much work must have gone into the writing of the book.

There are a couple of minor things of note in the following scene:

Agnes declares herself to be the last true witch in England. I’m not sure what purpose this serves, or what basis the claim is made on (perhaps another of her prophecies?), or if it’s even true.

You can actually hear the noise of the nails hidden in Agnes’s skirt as she walks if you listen. I only picked up on this after I knew they were there. It’s another example of clues being given for those who pay attention. I dare say Adultery Pulsifer should probably have picked up on it but he was obviously too busy being a pompous dickhead to notice.

Agnes’s book of prophecies has received a review from Ursula Shipton, comparing her to Nostradamus. Mother Shipton was an actual historical figure, known as a soothsayer and prophetess. She also died in 1561, almost 100 years before the publication of her Agnes’s book, which makes her review either meta-satire or proof of her own legitimacy. I’m going with the latter.

There is another reference to an apple here, this time of the Jobs variety. I understand its placement serves as a way to explain the Device family fortune in the pre-Armageddon timeline, but I do not think that the returning mention of an apple (regardless of its form) is a coincidence. In this instance, the suggestion is that future generations should partake of the aforementioned apple in order to flourish – not so dissimilar to another apple in another ancient location is it?

Well, I think that’s as good a place as any to finish this part. What was I saying about not being so much waffle? I am trying not to analyse every line, it’s just that in a script that’s this well written, every word and phrase seems to have been so carefully chosen so as to carry its own meaning. Or maybe I’m just being pretentious.
