IDK IF ANYONE ELSE IS EXPERIENCING THIS BUT BUT-
Just wanna mention, all my favorite blogs are being taken over by scam ā€˜Amazonā€™ or ā€˜Fedexā€™ or some sort of work for hire accounts.
Please be careful, donā€™t fall for the scams and donā€™t click on any of it. and I hope and pray their original accounts come back eventually. ā¤ļøāœØ

Why do I keep seeing people advertising FedEx jobs in Batman tags? It's probably a scam but how is this a good idea for spreading this? It's TUMBLR, we're not profitable here. And why Batman tags?

Hey, has anyone else been getting these stupid posts telling you you can work at FedEx? And are most definitely a scam of some variety?
These ffkucking things??
Tumblr media
Hate them so much. The way I've dealing with them is going directly to the source blog, reporting it as spam (Because that is what they are, they're just 1000 of the same post over and over. And look at those irrelevant tags! This one only has meme tags but they can be fuckin anything), then reporting the post I saw as spam and blocking.
I've seen like ten just this past twenty minutes. I hope they go away and die soon! :)

Anyone know Aritzia? Thereā€™s a purchase under my name and I canā€™t contact Aritzia support, the package has been shipped by FedEx to Ottawa, and it doesnā€™t seem to have been charged to my card.. does Aritzia do weird scams like this or did something weird happen with their info? For reference I donā€™t believe I ever made any sort of account or anything with Aritzia, I just randomly got ad emails from them and now a package supposedly worth $90 something CAD

I ordered something ultra rare that Iā€™ve been looking for for a decade (pjo related) and I saw it pop up and snatched it quick, but Iā€™m SO nervous I got scammed šŸ˜… (not that I would mind TOO much because Iā€™d been thinking of donating to the seller anyway if someone else had bought it first because they seem to have fallen on hard times so itā€™s just like ā€œclearly you needed the moneyā€)
But Iā€™m so anxious because I havenā€™t gotten a tracking number but they said itā€™s out for delivery so Iā€™m likeā€¦ will I have this super cool dream item by the time I get home today or is it just a ruse and theyā€™ll come back tomorrow with ā€œhuh it says it was delayed/couldnā€™t be deliveredā€ and then ghost me?????

Hey I just wanted to acknowledge this recent Tumblr scam that's been surfacing around almost everywhere atp
It's the FedEx/Amazon/whatever job scam. You'll see these normal looking Tumblr accounts that are promoting working at some popular company with good benefits specifically from home. They pay you well and they want to hire those in a vulnerable state for the good of them/j. This is an example of one of these scammers:
Tumblr media
The scammer wants to make you feel acknowledged and wants you to feel like they're a nice and considerate person that really wants to employ you!
But then you realize that no company would post on Tumbler in such a non professional manner (i.e formal language and more info on the matter) and even if they would they wouldn't use a Tumblr without their company name and with an image of a duck..
I dug a little deeper into this account specifically because I couldn't find the other one I've been getting on my feed (all I know is that it has a doofenschmirtz profile picture) and noticed a pattern in their posting. They post a meme and then post themselves asking for you to work for them:
Tumblr media
And everytime they post asking for someone to work for them they just copy paste it except for the couple times where they specificy that it is for USA only.
This is a bot trained to avoid getting spotted as a bot by posting memes and then posting their scams. Not only that but their username seems to be artificially generated.
They also use almost the exact same tags as in their meme posts because you're probably already following one or more of them, which makes it more probable for them to appear on your feed and potentially trick you.
I also clicked on the link that have listed (DONT DO THIS WITH RANDOM LINKS YOU SEE ON THE INTERNET!!) to see where they'd take you.
Tumblr media
Ah, yes, totally real website... I'm joking of course. They're not taking you straight to their info page because they don't have an actual info page. They just want to lure you deeper and deeper till you get a virus. Or, there is something much more deeper at play.
I didn't delve in more because I didn't want anything malicious to enter my phone but I've seen similar things to this before; people hire you for a popular company and then ask you to take boxes for them and ship them someplace else.
They do this by pretending to be the company, for example Amazon, and scam someone into buying something from them wether that be through a fake site or a sketchy ad (Just to note they might be pretending to be an entire other company than the one you believe they are) then they ask for something like money, gift cards, etc and that the victim mails it to "Them". But instead of the company it's the person hired as their "Mule" that receives the package and then sends it off to some other country believing it's a buyer from Amazon.
Why do they need a mule? Because most likely they're from a different country if not continent, but these days many people are suspicious if Amazon from America wants their victim to send it to a different country. So to solve that problem they have a mule. Or the scammers already are in the USA but don't want the packages sent directly into their base in case someone calls the cops on them, so they hire a mule to take the hit.
All in all, just report these accounts if you see them and spread awareness to everyone!!!

fellow aspecs - beware of scams
ive seen a number of fake job scams spamming the asexual, aromantic, and aroace tags, sometimes purporting to be FedEx or Amazon. These are scams. Do not click their links. Do not give away personal information.
Tumblr media
^^ here is an example of what Iā€™m talking about. Once again, this is not real. If you see one of these posts, report it as spam. i have probably reported about a dozen of these in the past day or so.
in general, i would be very suspicious of job opportunities that are posted to tumblr, especially under accounts with generic urls/pfps. donā€™t click random links. check the official company website for job postings.
@staff didnt do anything about the porn bots spamming our tags, and I have my doubts that theyā€™ll do anything about scams targeting our community. probably because theyā€™re too busy banning trans women without cause. stay safe everyone!
