Had a tiny mental breakdown at work a lil while ago over "Not tonight I have a headache", and how people so often seem unable to just take no for an answer, and by golly I hope nobody still has to say "Not tonight I have a headache" seriously in 2025 (unless you have an actual headache ofc it's your dime)

i just did this, and it was very easy. you can have multiple library cards on libby, so you dont have to lose your other library!! very useful for someone in fucknowhere texas
Do you have the Libby library app?
If not, download it to your phone, and under "Add library card" select the button to search for a library and start typing in "queer"...
Sign up with an email, no actual address required, and you are good to go 🏳️🌈

I don’t care if you make fun of Catholicism as long as it’s accurate! The best humour has its roots in the truth.

also the way people assume that close non-romantic relationships are automatically unhealthy/codependent. if a couple acted the same way you wouldnt even blink
I wish more people outside of aspec circles would understand the importance of platonic relationships and that romantic love isn’t the only form of love you’re allowed to have. Like yeah I like talking to and about this person and I want to lay my head on their shoulder and talk about the things we enjoy for hours as a friend. I love them as a friend.
The automatic assumption that non-aspec people have about a platonic relationship being close clearly means they want something more is. So annoying? Like no fuck you I just think this person is really cool. Back off.

you're allowed to identify as asexual because of trauma. you're allowed to identify as asexual because of neurodivergence. it doesn't mean that you "aren't really asexual" or that it's something that needs to be fixed because your lack of sexual attraction was caused by something else. your asexuality doesn't have to be completely disconnected from every other aspect of you to be valid. i'm happy to be sharing this label with you. platonic kiss on the forehead.

I love, love, LOVE it when I can tell a fic author has integrated their specialized knowledge in a fic. I was reading a fic that at some point included the character going to visit an art therapist, and it's so clear that the author is an art therapist themself, and the details included are just immaculate and I love it. I've previously read about a character doing fencing for no other reason than the author clearly wanting to write a sport they understood. A character being given a hyperfixation on bugs just so the author can infodump themselves.
I eat it up every time, it brings such a smile to my face

describing a queerplatonic relationship as "more than a friendship": incorrect, minimizes what friendships can be, leads to confusion or dismissal of what a qpr is because "but you can still do all that stuff with a friend. i still don't see how this is different than a friendship"
describing a queerplatonic relationship as "more than *what is typically societally expected of* a friendship": far more accurate, acknowledges the variety of ways that platonic relationships can be, adresses the societally constructed nature of relationship hierarchy
