Hey yall!! My name is Cassian (he/him) and I'm 20 years old. I was on here as @mybodyisaflowerbed but tumblr nuked my main blog on that account so I'm over here now!

I write.., a lot of different things haha, usually along the lines of fantasy and/or contemporary! I also write a lot of fanfiction, but I probably won't talk about those projects here unless I'm explicitly asked.

I am a fiend for music; metal is my favorite overarching genre (I'm terrible with subgenres tho lol) and I love to use my favorite songs and bands as inspiration for my writing.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

author's notes.

this series of short stories is part of a bigger project that i, for now, am calling mixtape - where i create a character and use the discography of a specific band to "document" the character's life story (or generally significant personal story).

fearing what the light finds is based around the discography of the band Spiritbox, and is currently planned to encompass all their songs up to their ep The Fear of Fear. any new music they release may or may not be added to the series; we will see!!

the gist of it.

fearing what the light finds follows the character of Eden Jade Heller. Kidnapped at the age of 19 and held captive for 9 years, Eden Jade is 28 years old when she murders her tormentor and attempts to end her own suffering, only to be saved by the faceless entity who comes to her in her dreams. Believing that it is there to guide her into death, she finds herself shocked and in disbelief when she wakes up in a world that is nothing like her own.

⌞♥⌝ Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I genuinely despise everything about this so much, and if anyone comes across this ad on TikTok (or anywhere else), I'd really appreciate it if you could report the video and not give it any further engagement.

I'm vehemently against the use of AI that negatively impacts artists, writers/authors, developers, creators, etc., and I don't condone the use of my art and IP without my knowledge and explicit consent — especially when it's being used in a paid ad/sponsorship. It's extremely disrespectful and I have no respect for those who do it.
